Speaker 1 (00:00):
Had a lovely weekend out at MotorCity Comic Con. Great time.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
You look like you had fun.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
So much fun.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Went out there on Friday and Saturday, taped off I
think ten segments for Fox two, which we turned into
the MotorCity Comic Con rewind Show. Oh, which you can
watch in its entirety on Fox Local.

Speaker 4 (00:21):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
That's so cool, all the fun.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
I saw a lot of your posts and videos and
I really I felt like we should have been there too. Oh.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
I wish you would have been there. I know, I
wish you would have been there.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
You saw a lot of people I would have loved
to have met.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Let me start with this one. Thomas Lennon and Cedric Yarborough.
Those are the guys from Reno nine to one to one.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
That video I put up on Instagram has like forty
thousand views. The fan base of them of Reno nine
one one, which was was on Comedy Central and what
the two show, Yeah, is unbelievable. The response on Lieutenant
Dangle and uh and Deputy.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Jones what do you?

Speaker 5 (01:02):
What do you?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
That's a lot of that's a lot of touching. They frisked,
tell me if Tom's got a poke? My brother, my
friend from Reno nine one one. Hey, welcome to Detroit.
Thank you very much. It's great to be here. If
you ask us any questions, they better be Diddy related.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Oh no, oh.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Just funny.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
I used to love that show, and I feel like
Thomas Lennon was on something before he's.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
If you're looked at his IMDb, the guy said a million.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
That's what I thought.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Yeah, done, a million. We just want to say that
wrong one? Is that it? No, it's this one. Come on,
wait a minute, what the heck happened here? Listen, let's
talk about both of them are just white people with
nothing to do but hang out here. That's not true.
He describe why the skreds.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
I know what you I know what you're thinking, because
you're you're saying, hey, am I going to go down there?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
And it's going to be just a pack of nerves,
you know. Yeah, there are some nerds here. We're all here.
It's not we're gonna say it together. It's not just nerds.
I thought we would say it together and we didn't.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Just it's not just nerds. There's a lady dressed like
Colonel Sanders.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Here's a colonel. Let's end on that. Yeah, there's Colonel Sanders. Everybody.
Oh my god. So here's the story from him.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Okay, and if you're if you're listening, you know Thomas
Lennon Dangel plays.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
He's the one with the little mustache.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
He wears the very very short shorts and he's constantly
lunging and like risking and all that.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
So they bring me over to do this interview. It
wasn't scheduled.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
That wasn't I didn't wasn't scheduled to talk to them,
but somebody else wasn't there. And I said, they said, well,
you talk to the Reno nine one one guys. They said,
oh yeah, okay, yeah, I love that show. And they
bring me over and he comes up to me and
he goes, don't say anything.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
I know exactly who you are. I'm like, well, I'm
like you do. He goes, yeah, I actually know you
so much better than you think.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Really, he goes, I've actually seen everything you've done.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Why what are you talking about.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
He lives in Illinois, and he lives in a city
that hasn't imagined theater. And he said that him and
his family go to movies twice a week. They were
really bummed out during pandemic. Yeah, and he said, you
are part of our emotional comeback. He said, because when
we were allowed back in theaters and you see Paul

(03:31):
Glance come up on the screen and then he says,
and then you see you talk about why you love
going to the movie theater because we.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Can recite it.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
And he goes, and I've seen everything you and your
morning show have done for your charity.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Right, Oh my.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Gosh, huge fan. Wow.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Took a picture of me for his wife that wow,
like you're acting like our regular listeners know you're famous.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
That's so funny. Did he say we're in Illinois or not?

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Well one of the obviously one of the towns that
have imagined And there's a yeah, okay, so that's it
was the That was the wildest thing ever. Chelsea texted
me over the weekend. She was all jealous that I
talked to Sean Ashmore.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
I can't believe it. He's in the Rookie and oh
I know that I love that show.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Okay, how does she know who Sewan Ashmore?

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Well, he's in the Ice he's iceman. Yeah, and why
would she know? Why does she know that right. But
he was also in the following with Kevin Bacon.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Oh, I know that show. I forgot about that show,
that's right.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
I was wondering when you're doing that show, like and
you're waiting around and I know that acting is like
hurry up and waiting all that. Yeah, how how often
did the conversation get into footloose?

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Not very hap No, no, I actually don't think that
ever happened, But how could that be?

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Well, I feel like everybody else might have brought it up,
and I was like, I'm not the good to be
the one.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Who brings up to Kevin. No, no, no no. So he
was great.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
The following was such a love It was so good
and I said.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
God, it's a shame. And like before I could even
finish the conversation, he was like, I.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Know it can't do it again.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Show. It just needed to come to an end, just
like because it was how much you're gonna do?

Speaker 6 (05:03):
They do feel like, how exactly how much more could
you do with that show?

Speaker 2 (05:07):
But look at The Walking Dead.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
Didn't think you could do any more with that and
it's on for what fifteen seasons?

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah, unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Selling Allison and Chelsea just about some of the fun
over at MotorCity Comic Con and Nova, which I said
to to the people that put that show on, I
think this was the biggest one.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
I've ever probably because of Jeremy Renner.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Yeah, I mean, I mean the Jeremy Renner stuff to
me over the weekend was the craziest thing I've ever seen.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Really.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
I mean, he had to have met I don't know,
and photographed with like thousands of people. I mean they
were like, okay, you know group sixteen now groups paging
group sixteen for Jeremy Renner. I mean it was like
it was a zoo that that guy was in Detroit
and obviously the biggest draw. I met more of our

(05:59):
listeners there then I have than the Women show that
we used to do. Like anything, and all that happened
to me this weekend was people kept saying where's Allison
and Chelsea or I guess you didn't get Alison out here.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
I'm like, well, she's a woman of her own free will.
I would certainly get her in.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
I'm better though, and out of bed now, Okay, so
you'll see me around.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Thank God, we've been praying.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Thank you. Was Jeremy Renner?

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Nice Jeremy Renner was nice. Jeremy Renner was like, there
was no interviews with Jeremy Renner. But my friend Brad
Galli from Channel seven did his panel. He also did
the panel for Bryce Dallas Howard look at him Ron
Howard's daughter.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Okay, but I knew that, Like.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
There's no newscaster beefs no. Okay.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
As a matter of fact, Brad Gally from Channel seven
is probably the only person on the planet in this industry.
Uh huh that I mean, if if I was walking
in to interview a dream person and Brad Galli wanted it,
I'd say you can have it, Brad, because I love
Brad that much, such a good person, and he and
he's the same intentions, Like you know, Okay, we're fans, right,

(07:04):
but we have good platforms that we can bring stuff
in a different way. And he's just a good guy
and he brings his family. I just I think he's
one of my favorites.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
When you have him here is he in your superman
NERD group?

Speaker 1 (07:15):
He's more of a Marvel guy. Oh okay, so there's
that makes it a little easier. Okay, here's not so
much of a TC as you know, anyway, why did
they bring that up?

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (07:25):
So, yeah, so I met Bryce Alice Howard, and I like,
I had ten seconds with her, Yeah, and I and
I got it all out in ten seconds.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
You did.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
I'm like, Hi, I've interview your dad several times. The
Village is my favorite movie, and I love Jurassic World.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
She's like, oh my god, how sweet?

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Good shot? Though, those are the things you want to say.
Also a lie, the Village is not your favorite movie
of hers? Yes, yeah, of hers.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
No, I didn't say my favorite movie of all time.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Why don't you watch the Village? It's not scary?

Speaker 4 (07:51):
No, she wouldn't you get a nice night Shyamalan twist,
unlike the Trapped or whatever that movie was called trapped,
trapped trap.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
So then, so then I said, I'd like to interview
Steve from Blues Clues because Ava, my daughter was yeah
the originally yeah, and that was we watched that. I mean, yeah,
you know it, you know. And she was like three
years old, four years old. So they said, oh, interesting,
Steve would like to talk to you. I said, how great.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Who was the Big Drop comic or Jeremy Renner. Listen,
it sounds like it might.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Have been you, I mean, on a very very small scale.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
No, here's why Steve from Blues Clues realizes that his
platform is very very big. People his line was outrageous
all weekend. Three hours to meet Steve from Blues Clues,
and he said to me, I know about your charity,
and he goes, I will, I just I want to
do what you're doing.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Help me.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
I want to use this for good. Basically his you
know in fact that people will.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Is he going to do Steve's Steve.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
No, but he was raising money for this Starlight Kids.
It's a wonderful organization, this weet So anyway, so we
exchange information. I'm gonna help him send it.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Oh my god, you're going to be his agent now?

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Well that nope, I didn't say that.

Speaker 6 (09:10):
Well I did see your interview with him, and I
thought it was cool that he said, like for the
first time in like thirty five years or something, he
was going to put the green striped shirt on and
then all the proceeds from all those photographs We're going
to go to the charity of his choice.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
Yeah, Clues was always about a very specific connection with
the camera, and it's a really wonderful and kind of
edifying to know that that lasted and that you could
come to an event like this really just kind of
continue that conversation.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Yeah. I like that.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
I like that he threw an edifying because you know,
I don't know what that means. Very nice.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Yeah, Can I go back to the agent thing? At
some point, you do need a second client, that's all.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
I don't know. I don't know. That's fine. I've got
these two jobs. Are just fine.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
So I feel like he has a second client, doesn't he.
I just think it's Mark Billows.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
That's last thing, Okay, Sean Aston from the Goonies and
from what Lord of the Rings and it was just
on the Connors life.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Yeah, so he Oh and Rudy wasn't he Rudy? He
wasdy he was Rudy.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
So I was supposed to do a zoom interview with
him last week and that didn't happen. So then I
guess his agent was like, he wants to be able
to talk to the two guys that were supposed to
do the zoom with it.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
And so it was Saturday.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
I shoot all my stuff on Friday and then I
and it was a busy day and they're getting ready
for Flower Day. It would have been tough for me
to call Fox to him be like, Hi, can you
bring out a camera? So I said to Don Kelly
our friend Dawn, I said, thank you, I appreciate it.
Brag Gally has his he's going to do a Channel
seven interview.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
I said, can I do an interview? Can I just do?

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Like?

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Let me do a minute with him on Instagram? Which
I did, and I went he was so great. I
mean he was great, Sean asked in Detroit MotorCity Comic Con, welcome.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
It be here. Can I tell you the coolest thing
ever anything?

Speaker 1 (10:53):
In the early two thousands, I interviewed you on the
phone on my radio show and told you I was
the biggest Superman fan ever.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
You conference Richard Donner in and let you talk to Wow.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
That's the coolest thing anybody in Hollywood.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Has ever done for me. Well, you deserved it. Thank you,
Thank you. It's all your hard work and creativity and
you make it fans happy. Is it true as anything
I'm saying? True?

Speaker 4 (11:14):
True?

Speaker 3 (11:15):
I don't really think for great. The Connors was great.
I watched every episode.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
I was at a thousand street Saint Pecky.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
I's just traves for him in a while. Great shown
asking us in Detroit combine and say hi.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
He in that call, got Richard Donner on the phone.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
It was like two thousand and two.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Oh my god, it's the first time you'd ever talked
to him.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Did you rest? Yeah? Did you have a stroke at
that time? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (11:42):
That was really cool of him to do so cool.
And again he goes, I totally don't remember that. I'm like, yeah,
I do. I'll always remember. That's why you have to
be nice to people, because you know what, they'll always
remember always, and they'll remember if you're a jerk.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Is his dad still alive?

Speaker 3 (11:54):
No, I don't think. I don't think so. So anyway,
there you go.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
Yes, when I was going so, I went out to
Bob Discount Furniture in Roseveld. They had their grand opening.
Shout out to everyone that came by. By the way,
they were still there, wi than Bob.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
I heard Bob came out and wanted to get her numbers.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Yeah, there are so many nice people. But anyways, when
I was on.

Speaker 6 (12:12):
The way there, the backup on ninety six westbound to
clearly get to it was like miles long. I'm like,
I would not want to be in that line and
trying to find a parking spot.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Wow, oh fine, yeah, things would happen for you.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
I know, I know, it's really he's not going to
just sad light and imagine.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
How your life would be if he just joined me,
because it's not like you're ever excluded.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
You just have to chill up, all right,
