Speaker 1 (00:00):
I told Allison and Chelsea a couple of days ago
that my trip next week to New York was kind
of like it got moved around a little bit. I
was originally going to the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Vegas
and then to cancel that because I was asked by
the Christopher and Dana Re Foundation to come out and
be a part of their charity event at It's Warner
Brothers in New York, right on the water and it's
(00:23):
is it called Hudson Yards. Oh yeah, it's in yard. Yeah,
I think it's that right, right, right, So anyway, they
have this, they have this big charity event on Thursday,
and then I just had a call yesterday about that
like what I'm doing and my role and all that,
and it's great. So then I got thrown because then
I was invited to the to the Red Carpet premiere
(00:44):
the night before.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
But it seemed like this trip could not be more
of a dream come true. Bam, it became more than
that when Warner Brothers, who apparently is aware of you
it said yes, yeah, says you should not only be
a part of the documentary blah blah blah, you should
be at the screening and walk the red carpet with
(01:06):
the other big stars.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yeah, I don't know if they I don't know if
they said it that way, but I like it.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Probably did.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I like it probably like that. So I remember I
was like, what am I going to do? What am
I going to wear?
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Like?
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I don't know what I wear? Like I have I
had one, you know, I got the tuxedo that I
bought for the Emmys that I loocause, you know, Rick
over at Chikini said you absolutely have to have a
tux You'll have it for life. We can always alter it,
but it's something every man should have. You have a tux,
like okay, and he was right here, Sure enough. I
needed one, and I got one. But then I was like,
I need something that fits better than I. I've lost
his weight and I need a better fit.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
So well, and now the TuS is going to the
red carpet event, So now you don't have anything for
the original gig, right what you were going there for?
Speaker 1 (01:43):
And I didn't want a TV suit and I just
I just and so I went in there yesterday. Rick
wasn't there, but his son was there, Troy, and Troy
was there and he Troy has a different mindset from
his dad, which is interesting. He's like, yeah, I know
what you're looking for. I said, listen, no, I don't
have the body or the physique of George Clooney. However,
(02:05):
George Clooney tends to pull off a black you know,
a white button down open shirt with a black suit
and or whatever it is he wears, and it's very simple.
And he just I said, and this isn't going I'm
wearing is not gonna cut it?
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Can I just really quick suggest that maybe a Don
Johnson Miami Vice Pastel.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Look, no, you can't. Could have been a way to go.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
It's a terrible idea. Just brainstorm.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
You're gonna input maybe something, you know, my limitations put
me in Pastel's tan linen. Yeah no, no tan linen either.
So anyway, so he goes to the back, he gets
he goes, this is a different type of suit. He goes,
this is not one of my dad would have given you.
This is different. And I put it on and it
fit more like it was soup, but it fit more
like jeans. It was like more like skinny jeans, like
(02:54):
the kind of and the jacket was better. And he said,
he's taking this chalk. He's like, we're gonna gonna do this,
but I haven't done for you by Saturday. I'm like, great,
So all that does you gotta have a different shirt
because your TV shirts are you know. He goes, We're
gonna have you a more fitted shirt and stuff. So
I think I'm gonna look good. So you know, this
this trip is all you know, it's it's it's all
(03:14):
kind of a whirlwind. Oh last minute. And then I'm like,
you know, I'm looking at this invite and it's like
a U plus one and I'm like, my girl can't go.
She's home with the dog and all this stuff. And
I'm like, what am I gonna do? And I'm in
New York and who would I even ask to go
with me? And I don't know how the planet's aligned,
and I don't know how it all happened. But my
(03:34):
date that night on the red carpet will be Superman
two star Sarah Douglas.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Oh my god, she will be.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Isn't she in London? She isn't she is in London?
How wow?
Speaker 2 (03:50):
You're going to all of this Superman stuff with the
fiercest female villain from Superman.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
She is my plus one.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Wow, I don't even know if we are allowed to
be the same room with you anyhow.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
And whis great? Is you know me? I like to
have a job more than I like to be the guy.
So if she's there, then I can kind of be
a handler, and then I will not feel awkward being
on a red carpet where I shouldn't be.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
You know what I'm saying, Wow, how did that all
come about?
Speaker 1 (04:22):
I told you the stars aligned? The stars aligned?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Isn't she she's in Chicago right now?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
No, that's next month. She'll be in Chicago next month
for she's doing something. I to imagine next month.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Can she get a gown in time?
Speaker 1 (04:33):
I don't think it's that kind of red carpet. Oh,
I don't. I think you know it's it's it's remember
at the core of this, this is a documentary about
Christopher Reeve, his accident, how his life changed his kids.
It is a very you saw the trailer you're in CinemaCon.
It's very sad. I mean sad. It's just very emotional
and very powerful, and I think it's a sub It's
not you know, it's not the glitz and glamour of
(04:54):
a it's not that kind of right, but I think
I think it.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Is appropriate to be flashy, flashy at this kind of event.
I guess Superman friends must be so jealous.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
I don't know yet.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
It's it's so mind boggling to think about a like
a seven year old Jay I know, who was just
had a favorite movie and then would grow up to
make all of the people. Man, we should write a
treatment about this and the red carpet deal.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
I'm just thinking about I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Fairy tale, you like, grew up to make all of
these people in the movie.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Your friends? Well, yeah, I mean, now you're going on
a date with one, well I call it a date,
but but yeah, if I'm going to bring somebody with me, boy,
that's what I'm not saying.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
You're gonna put the moves on, then I don't.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Know, that would not be respectful nor desired. So don't
be worried about both ends. I'm sure, all right,
