Speaker 1 (00:00):
I got back about a week ago today from LA.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Went out to LA for the Superman junket for the
new Superman film.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
You were dying. Yeah, you were there from Thursday to Monday.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
I was there from Thursday to Monday.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
That is a long time. I did wrap up Saturday
three in the afternoon.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
You were done.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
It was done.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Why you were?
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Why you were there?
Speaker 2 (00:18):
And I tried to change my flight and I guess,
I mean there were no flights. There was nothing I
could get on that didn't have two stops.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Back to Detroit from Saturday at three till Monday morning.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
What were you doing?
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Nothing?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Did you get it?
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Nice? I worked?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
No, No, no, I didn't see anybody. You know who
reached out to me and said, oh, thanks for telling
me you're in town.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
After I left.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Was David Howard Thornton arn't the clown from the Terrifier movie.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Oh way, Why wouldn't you tell him you were there?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
I didn't think. I just didn't. I didn't evenee our
old boss, Paul. I didn't do any of that, huh.
I was in Beverly Hills at the Cameo Hotel.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
It was.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
It had odd hours of food operation. They had a
restaurant that you could eat inside of from seven am
until eleven am. They didn't serve lunch, and then they
opened it and turned it into an Italian restaurant at
five pm.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
That is weird.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
So every morning I would wake up in La you know,
at three am, because at six am at home and
I had to door dash dunk into the room because
you couldn't get room service, right, And then i'd.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
Back get room service at a hotel in Beverly Hills.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Now that just seems crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
It does, yet not until a certain time. And I
was up earlier than that, which is no big deal.
I mean I was, but I was. And then the
same thing. I'd get back from doing interviews or something
and there and I was like, you know what it is,
I don't know that area. And it's not the Beverly
Hills that you think. It's kind of like right on
the edge. So it's not like you walk out and
you're like, gone road.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I just didn't know where I was and I wasn't
leaving the hotel. Yeah, I wasn't going to do I
just wasn't going to do that.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
I'm kind of surprised.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
You usually like venture out a little bit scared to
do that.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
The best thing that happened on this trip was my
day when I finally got my itinerary. You know, I
was there and I realized everything from shooting little stories
in the Fortress of Solitude and the Daily Planet and
then my interviews with the cast and James Gunn. It
was all scheduled for a full slate on Saturday. N.
(02:22):
So there I was on Friday. So when I went
and checked in on Friday, I said, so, you didn't
have anything to do Friday either, right, However, I said
to the girl Warner Brothers when I checked in, I said,
I kind of got nothing to do today. And rather
than just get in a car and go somewhere, can
I go to the building where I'm supposed to be
tomorrow because I saw they had stuff scheduled, but those
were that was like influencer day.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Oh shut it, so the influencers.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
So you know what, So I went there on Friday
and I was able to shoot all that that stuff
on the building and all that cool stuff behind me.
Your Saturday better, yeah, because I was ultra prepared.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah that was great.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
That's really cool. And you were in any influencers. Way.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
No, no, I hung out with a little bit with
Alex Alex Miranda who's in Miami. He's on a TV
station there. I got to see Kevin McCarthy who was
on Fox in DC. Yeah, that guy does stuff. There's
a guy from Extra that was there too. I can't
remember his name. And Cassie Cassie de Laura is from
here in Michigan and she's on Entertainment tonight.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Oh. Very cool.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
As a matter of fact, they were in this building
called the Rapper Building. It sounds like something that would
totally happen to us. It's some building that they put
a bunch of money into to build and then like
didn't finish. So the outside's very cool, and then every
floor is like not finished, and that's what they did.
You go to the seventh floor, that's your cast to Superman.
You go to the eighth floor that's the Villains, the
(03:43):
ninth floor is the Daily I mean you went to
these floors to do the interviews. And then James Gunn
was in the penthouse and you went and interviewed him there.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Wow, so that was really cool.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
That's all in Beverly Hills too.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
No, that's in Culver City. Oh so they did that.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
And so then so because this building is so new,
and you know, like when there's still dry wall up
and it's not painted. So I leaned against the wall
before my first.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Internet and a new black T shirt and had.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
A button down and I guess it was completely white.
And then that Cassie from Entertainment Tonight saw it. She
had a shoe bag and she if I didn't she
didn't tell me, I would have went in and I
would have had it all over me. Oh, I shot
a little. I said, I got to shoot this from
my girls back at my radio show. Would you please
let me? I just want to say that Cassie from
Entertainment Tonight saw that I leaned up against the wall
(04:32):
and had white craver over my back, and she cleaned
it off.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Her way, that's.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
My shoe bag.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Can folks, we got to stick together.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Michigan stays together. Yeah, so she's nice.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Was everyone being so quiet because this building had like
no insulation or anything, so when you got up to
your floor for an interview, there was nothing, really nothing
separating you between the elevators and a curtain.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
And then really interviews were so we were doing.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
That where everything seemed very echoey.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Was echo way. So that was cool.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
The interviews went good. The oddest thing about that trip
was here I am Sunday. Couldn't get on a flight home,
like I'll just go home Monday. It wasn't meant to be.
I talked to our friend James Jude, I had a
call with him. We just like I just did, like
I edited. I said, I think the lady wanted to
clean the room. So I said, all right, I'll go
down to the pool on Monday or this is Sunday, Okay, Sunday.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
I go down to the pool.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Every pool chair like I haven't been in the sun.
I don't think like real sun and years. Yeah, I
just haven't like laid out.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Every pool chair was a scoop chair that you sit
like this.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Oh no no, yeah yeah, oh.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
There's no blaying it flat, right, So you know, the
sun is up and you're but you're in the shadow
of this building and the Cameo hotel and the sun
comes up and it's AstroTurf and it looks like they
took a side parking lot and kind of made it
into a pool. Okay, So and and you know the
server comes around, said Hi, can I get you a drink?
And I'm like, hey, is there any way to lay flat?
(06:03):
Because the sun, who might have complain all fat out there?
And I'm like the sun is like, I'm just it's
getting the top of my head.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
What is the purpose? It was so weird, Like she goes, yeah,
I know, they don't lay flat.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
I'm picturing you in like a hammock. Was it like
kind of like that style?
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Like I was in stirrups but upright, like like sitting
up having a baby.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Is how I felt.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
What's going on at the cameo?
Speaker 1 (06:27):
I don't know when she said, yeah, I know, we're
going to redo the pool. I know, I'm like, just
get different chairs.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Yeah right, so I mean discount.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I mean anything, And I mean I guess I could
have laid on the actual ground, but it's astro. It
was so weird. So everybody was sitting that it was
like that scene of men in Black when they're all
trying to sit in that oval chair, like no one
knew what to do.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Now was that?
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Oh so everyone else was having a problem with it? Yeah,
like you could see it.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
And then and literally the second I got there, a
kid pooped in the pool and that was it and
they closed the pool and how does.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
That that happened?
Speaker 1 (07:00):
I don't know, Wow, I don't know. So that was
that was me and the sun in La.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
So you were out there for about two minutes.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
I was, ay, good, forty five minutes okay, yeah, I
got a very odd tan out there.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
So that was it.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
And then and then you know, the flight was boarding
was four thirty am in La on Monday, so I
like I was up at two ready to go. But
it was a good time. And my first interview ever
was on Fox Suit Today with James Gunn. The full interview.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
The videos are great.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
That was so cool.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
The job I just uh uh no, no, okay, I
think I saw most of them.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
But the James gun thing that you did with it
was cool. I'm so happy that the slide show paid off.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
I rehearsed it here.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Does he really hate his brother?
Speaker 1 (07:39):
I think it's a joke.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Okay, so I thought, I mean, I assumed, but who knows.
