are looking at rain in a hive seventy seven degrees.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
So you know what Today is the last day of summer?
Oh is it?

Speaker 3 (00:15):
I don't know that. No, today was a last day
summer neither.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Well, it's sting a day of morning for me, so
I do know that.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Yeah, it's not a good day for ELM's.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're not in all black? I will be later. Is
that sitting shiva?

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Oh my god?

Speaker 2 (00:29):
No, did I go too far?

Speaker 1 (00:32):
No?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I mean yes I did.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
I think you may have. So listen.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I mean I know I put this up on Facebook yesterday,
so I'll just tell you what happened here.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
So I got the.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Vegas trip did not go as planned at all. It's
supposed to be out for the iHeartRadio Music Festival. It
was really excited because Saturday night I was supposed to
see Murai Carrey. Yeah, little photo shoot for the Christmas Countdown.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
You had a whole backstage hookup.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
It was all hooked up, ready go.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
The Christmas Royalty was going to meet each other.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
All right. The Prince of Christmas meets the Queen.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Yes, that's going to be a thing.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yeah, that didn't happen. So here, let me let me
just put this in the contents.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Are you going to tell us about Jana Jackson separately
or do you I separately?

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yeah, yeah, it's its own thing.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Yeah, but let me like, let me just put in
the context because I think it'll help towards the end
of this. So got up two am Wednesday, right like normal,
came here and we did our show, did our show
Wednesday morning. We had our friend Jim Deutschin. That was
nice to see him. And then I went to the
airport and flew out like at nine am. So nine am,
flew to Vegas. Got to Vegas. You know that our

(01:39):
great partners Hollywood Casino, a Greek town.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
So I usually before I Heart Radio Music Festival a
day or two, I go to M Resort, which is
in Henderson, which is like like a fifteen minute Max
ride from the strip, like maybe less than now, Okay,
So I go to this beautiful M Resort which is
part of Penn and I usually they liked like they
showed me around their building, new tower and new rooms.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
They give me this really nice rooms.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Yeah not was it a sweep again massives him going
through doors and doors.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Doors and doors.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
So the point all this is is that that was
on Wednesday, and then that night there was this opportunity
to go see Janet Jackson, which the show started at
Resorts World, which again is on the strip that's at
eight thirty, but eight thirty Vegas time is what.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Eleven thirty our time.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Yeah, so that was great.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
But by the time I went to that show, and
you hadn't napped, and I hadn't naturedly do that.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
And by the time you know, so it's over, it's.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Like eleven o'clock and you're like going back to your hotel. Well,
when you finally lay down at night, it's midnight there,
but it's like three am here, So I had been
up twenty five twenty six hour strip. My god, you
don't realize it now Here's It wasn't drinking or anything
like that, just a thing. But typical me. I'm not
some because I'm not gonna don't go to bed at

(03:01):
midnight and then say, well, now I'm sleep until nine.
Like I woke up my normal I woke up like
three hours later, four hours later.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
You didn't take into consideration. Just I just not two
days worthless sleep.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
And I woke up and first thing I did is
I got on my computer and I edited the Jana
Jackson video because I took all this video from the
Janet Jackson Show and it was one of her last
three shows and it was pretty close up.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
So I edited that, put it.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Up on social and then by eight am, my one
of my best friends, Jim Jim Bowers, who I do
the Superman podcast with, picked me up and brought me
out to his house, which is about twenty minutes from
the hotel in Henderson, and his wife Sally, made those
eggs that I love, and you know, we kind of
had a.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Nerdy it was a free day for me.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Chubbs, I saw Chubbs the cat hed. Yeah, everything was great,
had a nerdy Superman day, looked at stuff, took some
pictures with capes.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
You know, it was pretty low key, low key stuff.
How are you feeling at this point? Do you feel
like you have a new day.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
I just wasn't hungry. It wasn't hungry, and I was
not drinking any water like it wasn't drinking just in
the desert, right, Okay, right, So go back in the afternoon. Okay,
didn't really have much of a lunch. This wasn't hungry.
Got some stuff that did, some more editings and some
pictures all that stuff. So the long and short of
it is, it's like, I'm like, you know what, I'm

(04:16):
really really tired, Like I'm tired, and I think I
need to go to bed and do a catch up
day because you know, Friday is going to be day
one of the iHeartRadio music festivals.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
What time was this again?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
I just I was ready for bed by like seven, okay,
seven o'clock.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
So you had Jim asked Jim to take you back.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Well, yeah, I was.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Back in the afternom yeah. Yeah, but I'm in the hotel.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
So I go. I go to It's like seven o'clock.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I put my computer on, I put some shows on,
and by eight o'clock I fell asleep. I know, I
was like, it was about eight o'clock I fell asleep.
So I get I wake up at ten o'clock. I
wake up out of a sound sleep, and I don't
feel right, Like something doesn't feel right. I felt like
like my heart was beating real really fast.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Which is weird when you've been sound asleep.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Right, like right, you'd be like I should have been
in a dead sleep.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Yeah, And I my head felt really like hazy, and
so I said, maybe.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
I got to go to the bathroom. Like I got
up to go to the bathroom, and.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
While I was getting out of the bathroom, I started
to like panic because it was a way I've never
felt before with the fast beating heart and like really
really lightheaded, and all of a sudden, like my shirt
and everything I was like completely drenched, like like soaked.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
So I'm like, you know me, and you know, guys in.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
General, we're not calling anybody unless it's like it something's
really wrong. I'm like, I think I got to call
the front desk because I didn't know where my cell
phone was and I wasn't gonna call mine one one
because I'm you know, you start to think, you're not thinking,
You're like, they're not gonna know where I am.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
They don't got a room I'm in.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Well, and the front desk is going to maybe they
have like someone on hand and like a first aid
kid or something like its just something that maybe monitor
your blood pressure or anything like that, so you don't
have to call nine one one.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Right, So I so I pick up the phone and
I hit zero and it goes and like zero on
the phone doesn't call the front desk. And honestly, this
is the part like I don't know what happened next.
But the next thing I know is now I'm like

(06:27):
crawling on the floor and I'm looking at my hand
and I like have blood.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
All over my hand.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Oh my god, And I'm say, you passed out.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
So I passed out and either hit I thought I
hit maybe the night stand of the bed or I
don't know what I hit.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
At this time, I have no clue.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
So I'm trying to find this phone and I hit
like either the room service button. You know the phones
have buttons at the top front desk room. So I
hit a button and I said listen. I said, I'm bleeding.
I'm on the floor and I don't know what's wrong,
and can you like send somebody? Yeah, And they said, okay,

(07:05):
no problem. And this is this this I did. Shouldn't
have done this. I I you know, when I panic
and I start to pace around and I'm like I'm
looking at all this blood and I'm kind of freaked out,
and I go, I better go unlock the door, yeah,
you know, because it was a latch and the locked yeah.
And I'm like, I better go unlock the door. And
I pass out again over and there's like these two

(07:28):
nice chairs and a little table by the front door,
like the kind of your entrance way. So I must
have passed out on top of the chair because the
chair was flipped over. I was on the floor. And
that's when the insecurity came in. And then they're like.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
They were like, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
They're like, and then I can say, They're like, call paramedic,
Call paramedic. I'm like, what, like what's and and I
guess I was bleeding a lot from you and and
so I don't know. Again, you start to lose time
in these stories and how it things happen. So the
param X got there and they immediately like they put
all these sensors on you, and you know, they start

(08:05):
asking you question and the first thing They're like, did
you do any drugs tonight? And I'm like, right, you know,
do you know me?

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (08:12):
No, you don't know. No, I didn't do any drugs tonight,
I does I didn't even drink.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
I I said that had an alcohol I had a
one drink on the plane two days ago, right, I
didn't have any alcoholic. But then like that, and they're like,
so they checked my I guess my blood pressure was
at sixty, Like the top number was sixty.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Oh wow, right, it's supposed to be one twenty.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Right, So they so the one kid is trying to
put an IV into this arm and he couldn't get
a vein or whatever. And you know, again normally these
are things I panic about five days in advance because
I've never been in Oh.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
Yeah, well you're such a big baby about anything matter,
but that's why you fell down.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
You had low blood pressure, Oh yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
And then the other guy, he he got it into
my arm and they started with a fluid, which as
soon as they put that in you start to like freeze.
You're like, he's and cold because it's this cold stuff
going into your sailing. So you know, they're asking you
questions stuff like that. And then this other lady, I mean,
she had her thumb on my forehead so hard, like.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Just to get it to stop bleeding.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Oh oh, she was applying I thought she was looking
for something. She was applying pressure.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
So they get so so so now I'm like, I
can see my bag is next to the door with
all my crap everywhere, my my, my, you know, my
briefcase bag and my and I see my cell phone
and I remember, I'm like, Jim Bowers, my great friend
Jim lives like fifteen minutes from here. He's closer than
the strip is. And I'm like, I said, can I

(09:38):
please call my friend like I have one. I'm I'm
in Henderson and I actually have my best friend lives here,
so I call him.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
I'm like, Jim, I'm like about to be taken to
the hospital.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Will you come to the hospital And he's absolutely, and
that was it, and I hung up, and I briefly
remember like being in the hallway and then the next
thing on the strike sure, and then I then I
was in the ambulance. So then I'm in the ambulance
and I said, I think I'm gonna throw up, like
I felt like I was going to throw up.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
I don't know about it.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Do you have any han't eaten much?

Speaker 3 (10:10):
No? No, And and he's like, are you sure?

Speaker 1 (10:13):
I think I'm gonna puke And he goes, well, I
can give you something in your IV right now where
you won't because it goes it'll be tougher to do
that later. Yeah, So I'm like, yeah, do it, and
and and honestly, next thing I remember was they were
taking your you know, they able to they pull you
off the stretcher and into this your hospital room.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
You didn't get any morphine, did you?

Speaker 3 (10:37):
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Do they have to count to three one? They did
three lift, They did do that.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
I watch enough grades and ad we needn't know exactly
what went down in that in that they did.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
Do the count. You're like in a sheet when they
do that.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Yeah, I thought she was doing the paddles. Oh clear, No,
that would come at a different time.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
No clear, No clear, No, thank god, I'm not doing that.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
No. So I'm trying to think happened that.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
I had to take notes for myself this morning because
I'm like, I got to try to remember.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
What happened here.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
So you really the spot that you nicked on your
head is something that would bleed a lot, no.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Matter like she said, it was a deep gash.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
Yes, And I mean you got like, what seven six
stitches something like that?

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Pretty significant.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
So we're in the So we're in the hospital and
then Jim shows up and you know, they're doing like
who's the president McDonald Trump. I'm like, they're like, what's
your middle name? I'm like, you know, Edward, you know,
like I'm like, we're doing doing the whole thing. He's
doing the lights and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
And I failed that test.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
By the way, when I went in for emergency hernia
stomach blockage surgery, which one that what Ronald.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Reagan was the president, I could I just I couldn't.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
He wanted the morphine.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, I was just playing for morphine is a chain wyman.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
No, so they so so he so Jim gets there,
they're they're like, we want to do some on you,
and we want to check your blood. They start, and
then I'm like, I'm now I'm freaking out because you know,
I don't I mean blood. And I'm like, well, I said,
how are you going to do the blood. She's like,
I'm just going to take it out of the.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Lady. I'm like, okay, So she took the took the blood.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
I thought, at this point, you made your peace with blood,
since so much of it had already been even be onymore.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Well then, so so then I'm kind of like, you know,
they're like, okay, blood pressure, stabilize all this.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
So I like go up to like just do this,
like just do this.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
And I'm talking and all of a sudden, they all
go like whoa, whoa, whoa. Like so this thing opened
up and started bleeding again into my eyes and they're
trying to put gauze and stuff on it, and and
my friend Jim is like, now, what's the white thing?
And they're like, that's his skull. Jim, I don't want
don't tell me anything. I don't want to know anything
that's going on.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Uh so his skull, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
Yeah, what's that white thing?

Speaker 2 (13:03):
So I'm trying to think.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
So Christina was the nurse. She was great, She's Armenian.
She loved Detroite hot dogs. Oh she's telling me I
know all about to trade. I love to trade hot dogs.
She's been here before for a wedding. She's getting married
in February. So that was comforting to hear somebody with
the Detroit. And then there was Natalia, the stitch lady,
and both the doctor and this Natalia said the same
thing to me when the doctors like, we're definitely gonna.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Have to give you stitches, and I said, I said,
is that gonna hurt? He's like, well, we'll numb you.
We're not monsters, okay.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
And then like five minutes later, like when the lady
came in to start doing the stitches, I'm like, is
this gonna hurt?

Speaker 3 (13:36):
She's like, well, I'm gonna numb you. We're not monsters.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Like why the second monsters comment in the same night.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
That's like there, there's there. That's their routine. That's the routine.
So that's what you keep asking, is just gonna hurt?

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Well? She was like morphine.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
I know I was angling for more so, so they're
putting all these needles in your forehead, yeah, you know,
and she's like do you feel this? I'm like, yes, yes, yes.
By like the seventh needle, I didn't feel it anymore.
She's like do you feel this? I'm like yep. I'm
like I just just like double just like the same
thing I did. Doctor Sarrum like, still feel it more novacane.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
And then she you know, she's so she's stitching up.
Jim is videotaping it. I'm like, I don't I want
this videotape, Jim. But and then she's like they're like, listen,
here are the things. You're severely dehydrated, like you're super
dehydrated and your blood work shows that. And then I
told them like a sleep I had, and then you know,

(14:35):
they said, well, and it could be like this abnormal
what is it called.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Something with your.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Heart that you get get that checked out and see
a cardiologist and because it could be this, and and
that was it, and I said, I'm just I'm so
hungry and and I was so hungry, and I had
a big gigantic apple juice which I never drank, and
like fifty gram crackers and I was and she's like,
I just recommend you go right to Greasy Hammer.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
She's you need to eat food, and you need to
eat like a coke.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
And yeah, she recommended a coke.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
She did, and not a diet coke.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Als that is those are my kind of doctors. So
did you go do that?

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah, so Jim went to the McDonald's, got me that.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
So then so we we.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
So rehydrating you kind of brought you back to like
at many bags of ivy?

Speaker 2 (15:20):
You needed two two?

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Yeah, two bags of ivy.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
So then so go back to the hotel and then
checking and these are friends this was a hotel, we don't.
But they're like, we're gonna move you and put you
in a different room. And I was like, I said,
there's no way at four am now and this started
at ten, Yeah, like, there's no way I can go
back to my room and pack up all my stuff.

(15:44):
Like I'm like a tornado on a trip. I like
everything is everywhere. At home, I have to be very clean,
but you.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Know a home.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
I mean so I'm like, there's no way I can
clean up that room.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
And and she's like, well, there's a lot of blood
in the room, and I'm like I don't care.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
I just want to go back to the room. I
just want to like lay down.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Because now I've like in like fifty hours, I've had
six hours of sleep, and I'm like I just want
to I feel like I need to go to sleep.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
And there are a lot of blood in the room.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
They are parts of the room.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Yeah, yeah, Okay, were you nervous being in the room
by yourself?

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Yeah, I was terrified after that. Listen and all the
jokes aside, like I honestly, that was scary. When you're
when you're bleeding and past, when you wake up passed
out on four bleeding and see blood everywhere and you
don't know what happened.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
It is real scary, well, being.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Alone, I mean terrifying a.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Lot of it.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
I mean waking up.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
The only time your heart should be beating through your
chest is when you're running a marathon. When you're laying
at sound sleep, at rest level, and you wake up
with your heart pounding out of your that's frightening, right, Like,
that's the first thing that you're feeling when you wake up.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
So so I you know, you know the one other
parts of this and then we'll say we'll take a break.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
But was the you know, in the morning, I got up.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
And the the uh the maintenance guy opened up the door,
didn't even knock open the door.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
He's like, oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't know anybody
would be in here. Like, oh, it's it's it's okay.
I said, I gotta lead check out.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
I said, I'm going flying home today and I'm gonna
leave at noon. He goes, okay, I'll come back. He goes, no,
there was an accident here last night. Now immediately I'm thinking,
like an there wasn't. Like, I'm like, I knew I
passed out, but I'm like, there wasn't an accident here, yeah,
and he goes, okay, it's just I just got to
we got to put a new closet door in. I
was like, oh, all right, and I look and sure enough,

(17:30):
like there's three there's three mirror doors, like three closet doors,
and one of them is gone, ripped off the hinges
with a ton of blood over there.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
And I'm like, you, so that's what you landed on.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Yeah, but I don't but that's nowhere near the phone.
It's nowhere near the phone, So I don't know when.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
That happened, right, is really scary.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
And then I'm like, well did I pass out three times?
Like because I knew that I knew the phone and
I knew the front door, but this is this is
in another whole spot.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
Things could have just all kind of blended together, and like,
maybe you don't have recollection of well, so today you'll
go to your doctor and get some answers.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
I see doctor Ewald as soon as I get off
the air.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Today to get morphine from him, and will why do
you want me to have so much more? We're past
that though you can only get it in the hospital.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
You missed your window.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
I was telling Allison and Chelsea about kind of the
Vegas experience, about the passing out, the bleeding.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Not the Vegas experience you want, no.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
No, Luckily I saw Janet Jackson. That was fun. I
saw that when saw her Wednesday night.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
How that, how that come down the pike.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
It was just part of a little like one of
the things that we could do if we wanted to go,
and it.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Was it was part of the iHeart package, part of
the love.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
That we get working with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Okay, did you go by yourself or with a bunch
of influence?

Speaker 1 (18:47):
No, No, I went there and then just there was
there's people from other stations that I knew and something Yeah,
I mean from you know, around the country and things
like that.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
That was fun.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
That was fun. Yeah, that was fun. And I'll and
I'll play some.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Of that the whole show.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Yeah, Yeah, she was really good. She really and you know,
open mic singing. Everything that you was.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
Going to do wasn't even going to ask. I idn't
want to rain on your parade. It just peppered in
with like eighteen questions. That wasn't going to be.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
One that I wanted to ask if I didn't want
to be negative.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
I'm staying all. I'm staying all up here today today,
high vibrations. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
So you know, Friday morning, I decided like I have
to go.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
I got to go home, Like I like like I
wasn't going to be able to go to the I
ROT Radio Music Festival because I didn't know. You know,
they tell you to follow up with a cardiologist and like,
I've got these stitches and like my head hurt, Like
my head hurt and my body hurts.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
No, you made the right call now that we know everything.
When we just had gotten your text, yeah, and we
were kind of like.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
Oh did you just fall down and didn't really understand
the severity I want you to miss Mariah, We're like,
maybe just take a nap and power through.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
But now that we know everything, Yeah, coming home was
the right thing.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
So I got on the computer Friday morning and I
was too late to get it onto the morning flight.
So there was a three oh five home, which was
like for two hundred dollars, I could change it and
beyond this this three oh five.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
I'm like, I'm just I'm gonna go home.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Yeah, I gotta late check out left at noon, went
to the airport, you know, check my bag and just
just hung out and just you know, I had some
food and just waited to get on the plane. I
met this great guy. I should have wrote this down.
I just remember this now. I totally forgot. There's a
show something or homemakeover rehab show, okay, and is there

(20:37):
and there's a girl named Alison on it.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Check that.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
But anyway, it was her mom and husband and they
were there because they were doing the premiere of the
show in Vegas and they're from Detroit.

Speaker 5 (20:48):
I was gonna say, I think I know that she
is it Wendy City Rehab.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Yes, Allison Victoria.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Alison Victoria. So al Alison Victoria's mom. I was with
and I hung out with them the whole time, waiting
to get on the plane, told them the whole story
or laughing.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Yeah, they're from here. They're from here.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
So so got on the plane and you know, you
get in your seat and it's three o'clock.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
It's like I said, we're supposed to take off at.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Three, and I'm going Man, it's starting to rain and
it's Vegas, and like never rains in Vegas ever, So
we were stacked up like three planes wide, and then
ten back on the runway to take off. And they
were doing one flight every like ten minutes taking off
because everything was delayed from what there must have been storms,

(21:33):
and you know, it just starts to delay everything.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
So I'm sitting there and I feel like crap, and
I'm like, come on, I just want to go hi.
And we were on the tarmac for about two hours.
Oh my god. Sitting on the runway for two hours. Okay,
so now it's almost five.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
And the pilot gets on and says, we're gonna have
to go back to the gate. We've timed out for
the day, meaning the pilots can't work anymore. But they
took off now they'd be in the air longer than
they're supposed to be working for the day. So even
though we were a couple away from taking off, he
came right down the runway and back and we got
off the plane and I'm like, what in the world am.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
I gonna do?

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Like I've got this head thing like I've been now,
I've slept a total of eight hours in like fifty
five hours, Like I'd like I've got it, Like I
look what am I going to do. So people start
getting in line. The people next to me are like,
just get on your app right now and book another
flight and then they'll reimburse you. And I'm like, I
don't have them bring capacity to do any of that.
So I got off the plane and I looked and

(22:34):
it said I was rebooked for Saturday morning at seven am,
same seat. So people are all in line, and I
did it for you automatically, did everybody. So I see
a guy in a red you know, a red vest
zip hop in Delta and like, we do so much
with Deulta, with Jase Juniors, and I just said, listen,
I said, just set me straight here two questions. Does

(22:56):
this mean I'm on this flight tomorrow? He goes, yes,
he goes, All these people are in line because they're
trying to go stand by on the next three flights.
He goes, and I'm telling you right now, don't do it.
I'm like, he goes, if you can stay, I can't
guarantee those flights will get out. And I'm like, okay,
I said, what about my suitcase? He goes, It'll take
two to three hours for us to get your suitcase.
I'm like screw it. I said, you're positive. He goes

(23:17):
get back to the airport at five am tomorrow. So
I had my bag with my computer in it and
you're leaving your seats one emergency black T shirt.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Well, thank god for that, Thank God for that.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
So I called Jim Bowers again. There's Jim and Sally. Hi, Mike, Hi,
are you home? Are you out on your boat? Where
are you? And they're like, no, we're home. I'm like,
can I stay there tonight? Because I didn't want to
go to a hotel. I was still freaked out. Yeah,
I get that, and they said, yeah, of course. We're
cooking chicken on the grill. And I'm like, oh, this
is great. So I stop into the Hudson store at

(23:50):
the airport and I buy a pair of Las Vegas
sweatpants and a pair of chester Cheeta.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Underwear because you don't have your seacase because you.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
Know me, it's a shower and chain shifty.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
So about Chester Cheater Chester Cheetah underwear, Uh, Las Vegas sweatpants.
And then I went into the sock store, which have
all Marilyn and Roat socks, and I'm like, do you
have just a pair of cotton socks. They're like, well,
we have these black perfect and you.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Didn't want any Marilyn in Roe socks.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
I did not want Marilyn row thigh high socks. And
I I and that's it. I went to his house.
I took I just took a shower and gave them
all my clothes. They put him in the washer, and
U had a nice dinner, went to bed, got up
the next morning and you know.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
Over to the airport.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Back to the airport at four am. Got on the
plane and.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
You had got your bag there the.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Bag, the bag was already in Detroit. It was Detroit already.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
That's so great.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Called art Art was so nice. Art Art came and
picked Art Sun brought him to the airport. Yeah, so
they I'm not supposed to drive at least it wasn't
supposed to drive.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Was your car there though?

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Yah? It was the airport.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Okay, you went back and got it or.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
You know, he he drove me in my car home
and his son followed us to do that.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
First class. It ends everybody, total first class.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
That's great.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
And that's it. So I'm going to the doctor today.
I'll see doctor Ewald to see what happened. But thank
you to everybody for all the messages. Goodness, gym's there
and a lot talk about a superman.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Right, I was just going to do it. He was
right there, right there. You do it.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
He knows, he knows. No, it's good, good friends. That's
a you know who your friends are in situations like that.
And now we say I have a lot of people
on the outer rim, but I can count my friends
on one hand, and then you know you can.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Well, we're really happy to have you back, glad to
be back. Yeah, there's a place for you on mine
and Chelsea's show anytime.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Good. So I'll be listening. I'll be listening.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
I said to them out there, I said, you know what,
it was almost your show permanently. That paramedic said to me,
he goes, good thing you got to a phone because
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
I'm like, God, great, don't

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Tell me that

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
