Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the show.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
Welcome to Wednesday very much has a Tuesday field today,
but that's because we were off on Monday.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
I think it's a mindset because I am I feel
like Friday is like right here, like I can feel it.
Speaker 4 (00:12):
Oh yeah, that's the joy of the short work week.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
I know there is a joy to that.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah, these people that work a three day week sometimes
or we're jealous, I know, so wonderful.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hey, so yesterday.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
I got some stuff done during the day at an
interview here blah blah blah, and then at three o'clock
I had to be out in Canton.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
Did you interview someone from t B.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
No, not too but a new artist.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
But I went out to Canton, which is because six
ninety six and all the construction. It wasn't terrible to
get there. It was really rough getting home, Like normally
Canton back to my house might be forty minutes, like
even with a little light traffic, like it was a hunt.
It was.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
It was an hour and twenty one minutes to get home.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Oh that's pain yesterday from not to Canton, No, no,
because I left from here.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Okay, but let me tell you it was well, it
was a really long day and like almost five so
so yesterday Gary from Jersey Mikes invited me Gary to
their meeting.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
They're big, uh, you know, they're big.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Everybody that from all the Jersey Mikes in the state
come together and have this meeting. And sometimes it was
at the it was at the Troy Marriott. Before this
time it was at like Cisco.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Is it like the iHeart tell me something good meeting?
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Well, yes, but I think bigger because they tell me
something good meetings about an hour. I think this is
like their annual meeting or maybe or maybe they do
these like twice a year. There was a packet in
front of me that I didn't look through because I
think it was right. But there were a lot of
stats in the packet, so you know, and and and
like when they refer to sandwiches, I think they call
them breads. Yes, store twenty six, you know, four hundred
(01:49):
and twenty one breads, and I'm thinking that must be
the sandwich output.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
I don't know, it could be wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Were you served Jersey Mics while you were there?
Speaker 2 (01:57):
No, but they did have soft drinks and they had
the snacks nice.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
But yeah, so no, but you.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
Know that I have a nervous stomach, Addison, and I
couldn't have any of the snacks.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
She's actually right, Oh, I.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Took a bag of Frido's when I left. I'm not
going in no way. So, by the way, today's Gary's birthday.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Birthday.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
And if you guys don't know who Gary is, Gary
is like.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
He owns the Jersey Mics.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Well not all of it, but he's like a franchise
e yes, owner, but a lot of a lot of them.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
But then they all get together, you know.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
So the long and short of it is, yesterday they
presented me with the Jay's Juniors check, which was pretty special.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Everybody.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
It's Shay Towers from one hundred point three WNIC and
Jay's Juniors behind me is like every Jersey Mike's manager
and superstar across the state of Michigan. Hi, everybody, Wow,
thanks to Jersey Mikes.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Take a look at this.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
That's five hundred and forty thousand dollars this year for
Jay's Juniors. And we couldn't do it without Gary and
everybody at Jersey Mikes for making it happened this year.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Everybody, Thank you so much. Thank you Jersey Mike's. Make
some noise.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
I can never get over that. It just doesn't feel real.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
I took the check to my car because it's I'm like,
I'm like.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Is it a giant card work? Because I'm like, this.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Should be inspiration for us if you need to cash
that Wally at my party store, really cash big cardboard checks.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
I love it. Yeah, it was. It was really.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
I didn't that I did that little video at the end,
like before I left, but I had to go up
there and speak. I don't know, it might be the
first time I like literally like bald through that speech.
It's so embarrassed to myself. Oh my god, Wow, I'm
emotional thinking about because.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
I don't you know what, you know, it was a
crazy amount I got it was.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
It was.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
The problem is Gary played a video from like maybe
the last year video where I talked or you know,
where we talked about this is what Jays Juniors is
and blah blah blah, and it was how we do it.
And but I just, you know, when the second I
see kids that we lost, maybe kids that just the
video makes me emotional. And I didn't think it would have.
(04:04):
But I felt I was not embarrassed. But I mean,
here I am sitting there ready to go on. I
literally was bawling the eyes out watching that video. I'm like,
what am I doing?
Speaker 4 (04:11):
Well?
Speaker 2 (04:11):
I got up there, I was fine, and then I
then it was then I think it wasn't super messy,
but it was messy.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
So sensitive, you know.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
I think that that's nice though, that you showing emotion
just conveys to all those people who run these stores
how much this means to us and to this charity.
And that's not a bad thing together though, I know.
But we've also lost a couple of days juniors this year.
I know that.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
I'm sure we're in that video.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
And to put that into perspective, that dollar amount, there
was a time not that many years ago, maybe even
as short as two years ago, where that was all.
That was the total sum that we raised. Partners they
did that by themselves, help from from Moscow and Planet
Fitness and Kroger.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
Imagine our very first year, I think we had fifty
grand Yeah maybe.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
And would you take like four kids? I think we
took ten families. Yeah, okay, yeah, started small.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yeah, So listen, here's the deal. One other thing I
want to tell you, in addition to the stores on
day of Giving and month of giving, a day of
giving to give us all the proceeds month of giving.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
You can round up or you can make donations.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Three stores raise the most round up money okay. And
it was one of the Rob Rob and his store
in Plymouth sixty five hundred dollars.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Now remember that store on day of giving all their proceeds.
This is just on top of that. This is like
bonus okay. Chris and wood Haven three dollars. And then
Jenna in Pittsfield Township.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
That's my jersey miney do you know that's one of
the most.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
And I know Jenna you.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Do, yeah, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Well, Alison's in there like four times a week.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
I am. I'm in there all the time.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
That's that's your place.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
And I know Jenna, Okay, very important that I get
this number right.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
I will tell her later when I pick up Jersey.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Mike. Well, anyway, it was like over twelve thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
So and and she was a rock storm. I mean,
she like overly like.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Was she there yesterday?
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Better than there yesterday?
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:14):
I kind of created something on the spot yesterday, did
you Yeah? I created No, I created the first ever
Jay Towers in the morning, Jay's Junior's.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Sponsor ambassador.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Is she going to get a plaque from Woods Trophy?
Speaker 1 (06:29):
She's going to come on the trip with us? Is
she I invited her on the trip with just.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Coming on the trip?
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (06:34):
Yeah, do you want to run stuff?
Speaker 3 (06:36):
May Nelson are on the board and we on board
check your website to turn it down.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
We just want to be in on the fun with you.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
Maybe we would have gone to Canton too, so we
could have.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Told came off with because in the moment.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
That was pretty Uh, that was good brainstorming. Yeah, did
you tell Jennah she gets to everybody?
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Did she cry?
Speaker 1 (06:57):
No, it was just me crying.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
But I just thought, you know, here's why I said,
because if Jenna comes on that trip, she will tell
all the colleagues at the Jersey Mics and everybody, Hey,
all of our hard work, this is what it looked like.
And let me tell you my experience and look at
my pictures through her eyes over over when we try
to tell a good story, I want I want that
(07:19):
to happen. And by the way, I've invited you know,
we've invited Brian from from Planet fitness and our friendship away.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Oh yeah, we have.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
But this was like something this I just I felt
so moved that she worked so hard in that store
to go listen, you're giving all your proceeds for a
day to our charity, and then to go on and
like get more money from people.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Is really that?
Speaker 5 (07:39):
That's like Alie ground up money. I mean it could
be two pennies, it could be ninety five cents. I
mean that to make like, I don't know, over twelve
thousand dollars.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
That's a lot of money.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Yeah, I mean you don't it. Don't just make five
hundred and forty thousand dollars easily.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
I want a little credit to for while I'm standing
there waiting for my subs. As we get hot subs.
Often it takes a little long. I do eyeball people
as they're being asked to round up.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Oh nice.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
So I want a little bit of credit for like
four days a week, like sort of with my eyes,
like six people do it to.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Cor We're gonna take you on the trick. Thank you,
Thank you, Jersey Mike.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
