Speaker 1 (00:00):
Detroit's Christmas Station one hundred point three w N I
see good morning, Jay Towers, Allison, Chelsea, thanks for being
with us as always under Troit's Christmas Station. It is
time once again for another Jays Juniors.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Hello. This is Jeffie.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hi, this is Jay Towers from w N I C.
How are you.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I'm good? How about you?

Speaker 1 (00:20):
I'm good. I'm here with Alison and Chelsea from the
Morning Show. Hello. O, Hi, perhaps you've heard of us.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
I have heard of you.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Hey, we're looking over applications for Jays Juniors and we
wanted to ask you about Adeline who is seven.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yeah, Shelby eight at the end of next month. So
Adelin was born twenty five weeks and two days at
University of Michigan with her identical twin sister, and it was.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Thanksgiving morning when he came.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Into this world. Wow. So the girls were.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Born obviously toteen weeks early, so they were quite thick
upon being born and meeting surgeries and respiratory support and
things of that nature. We lost Adelan's twin sister at
twenty days old due to infections, and Adelin stayed in

(01:17):
the aque for three months. We came home on oxygen
and lots of.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Lots of doctor's appointments, a lots of things. Adelin has
had had a brain league when she was born, which
is very common when they're born that early blood pressure
can't be maintained, and she had.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
What's considered a grade four, so that is the worst.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
So we really didn't know how Adalin.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Would be growing up, if she was going to be I.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Guess quote unquote vegetable, like if she would ever talk,
if she would ever walk, all.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
All these things, and she is a walking miracle. She
can walk, so you can run, she can talk, you
can sing. She's the five so many odds, and she's
been involved in a lot of programs and stuff to
get us to where we are today. But she is
just amazing and like the happiest kid you'll ever meet.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
There's a little picture of her holding the school bus.
Was that first a school Oh wow?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yeah? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:17):
And I love the fact that she wants to be
a doctor and a police officer when she grows up.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Oh yes, yes. Her and her little brother argue about
it because he says, well, you can only be one thing,
and she goes, no, I'm doing.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Both, So let's just talk about the family too, because
her she has older brothers, right are they sixteen and six?

Speaker 3 (02:35):
So her half older brother is sixteen, Okay, Brendan.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
He does live with us full time.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Actually, right after Adaman was discharged from the NICKU, his
mother had a very big stroke.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
We have a great relationship and all the things that
he is with us full time. We don't live far
apart from each other, so you know, but he is
with us full time.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
And that's her favorite brother because.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Of sixteen old of course is sweet, right things for her.
And then she has a six year old.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
They're eighteen months apart, actually younger brother, and he's problem the.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Child that's not her favorite brother.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
That's the one that, yeah, you don't get under her
skin a little bit. They there is true what they
say about the youngest one in the family. There's a
lot of a different breed, you know.

Speaker 5 (03:27):
But that's really funny. What are some things that she
enjoys doing. Is she involved in any sports or activities?
School things?

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yeah, so she's been a special program for school. So
she's in co Hi. So it's physically her other way.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Health and paired, which is through Taylor School.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Diship. We're very fortunate Downriver to have that program. I
know less of other families that don't have access to
things like that, and so she is in there and
she does get therapy's there we are. We have done
two years now America.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
League of Michigan Baseball, which any families that are looking
to get their child in.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Baseball, and the program is amazing. So it is so
much fun. Adeline loves it. We've, like I said, we've
done it two years now and she does what she
calls it Hya class, but it is karate.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Class.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
She calls it hyak and she's been in that for
a year and it's a spectrum skilled class for children
that have different handicaps. And she absolutely loves that class.
And she's like, you know.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
If if we had to miss it for baseball or
something that was an overlap.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
She's like, when do I go back to hia? But
she loves it. So we stayed pretty busy with you know,
school and going to brothers sports and hers and all that.
So but yeah, she did. We keep her involved. She
wants to do baseball again next year, which again i'm
America League in Michigan. If you guys haven't heard of

(04:57):
it as an awesome.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Oh no, yeah, we know for sure. This sounds great.
Adelin sounds great, The family sounds great, and we know
it's our tenth year. We're celebrating for Jay's Juniors and
we'd love to take you in the family at Christmas
time to Disney World.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Oh my god, really, thank you.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
You're welcome.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Oh that's amazing.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Oh my god, all expenses paid. It's it's you know,
the whole family, and it's the parks, and it's a
hotel and food and spending money and you don't bring
a buck in now, you.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Don't need anything.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
It's just yoursel some of us. Oh my god. Yes,
that is awesome. Thank you guys so much. She's going
to be so excited.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
That's a good way for her to a little bit
of a belated birthday present.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Yes, oh, there you go. That's perfect.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
We really want to thank our partners that make all

world to us.
