Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, it is Mojo in the morning. Anna.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
You were asked out on a date only to have
the guy that was asking you on a date be
on another date.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Explain this story to me.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
So I talked about this man a while ago because
we had went out with each other a couple of times.
A bartender saw him out with another girl when we
were actively seeing each other. She told me about it
and I ended it with him. I would say, probably
for like the last month, month and a half. Everything
I post on Instagram, he is sliding up, saying things

(00:36):
like I want my girl back, can I get a date?
Things like that. So he's trying to get back in
my life. Well, I wake up Friday morning to the
longest text from him. I'm not going to read it all,
but I'll read you guys. The first little sentence just
wanted to tell you I miss you so much. I've
been thinking about you a lot, Hope all is well,
and would love to see you soon. I'm like, wow,

(00:57):
that's a nice text. I say something nice back. This
is Friday, probably around noon. I go out with my
homegirls for happy hour. Friday night. I sit down at
the bar, look across and guess who I see that
man with another girl on a day and I'm like, this, God,
the audacity of this man to be all over me

(01:19):
and then just be out with another girl. So he
didn't see me at first, and I texted him. I
was like, so usually he would always drink martinis when
we went out and he was drinking wine. I was like,
you switched to wine now, And he looked up and
he was like and he saw me, and then he
just like, I don't know, said something back, but I
was like, I caught you red handed, and don't ever

(01:40):
text me again.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
By the way, that is no man. That is a boy.
Those are boy moves. Yes, that's crazy you.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
This is like a forty year old over forty man.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah, boy moves, because that's because a man doesn't do
stuff like that. A man, a guy who's a man
acts like a man and doesn't. I'll ask you a question,
at what point was it a boy move?

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Like?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
What was boyish?

Speaker 4 (02:01):
He was?

Speaker 1 (02:02):
He went out with somebody, He asked her out on.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
A date after knowing that she had already gotten the
word from a bartender that this guy was not trying to,
you know, be exclusive with her, and he's not exclusive again,
he's pulling out because so because he asked her out
on the date and she said no, and he went
out with someone else. He's not a man, No, he's
your logic Listen, sounds to me like you're also.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Stuff like this.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
I'm trying to figure out if I had somebody on
a date and they say no, just sit at home, no,
not do anything with my life.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Well, he asked, He obviously asked her out while he
was out with this girl.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Like, what's he doing? Is he trying to fill his
calendar with his deal? He didn't hear from anisol. He
probably hits somebody. I don't know the order of things.
I just don't think he. I don't hear him doing this.
A friend of yours. This guy also worked with the
Pistons or something. He might be I don't know. But
how do you guys have time to go on date?

Speaker 3 (02:56):
So can you be so forward about being wanting to
be with you again?

Speaker 6 (03:00):
This?

Speaker 3 (03:01):
That, and then just like not.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Nobody has options? Nobody, nobody has options, Kevin.

Speaker 7 (03:09):
I just think it's the timing is absolutely impeccable.

Speaker 8 (03:14):
To be fair, he didn't do anything wrong. It's not
like you guys were in a relationship and he's cheating
on you.

Speaker 7 (03:18):
He's not doing anything wrong, no, but it's just it's
funny that the way that it happens.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I think he's a dog.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Like, yes, he's not a man, he's not a boy,
he's a dog. Do this? This is not reality.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Tell what do you want to say to me? Then
go on?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
I'm just saying this is this is not reality. Don't
you want to see Anna with a respectable guy?

Speaker 5 (03:44):
Anna got a homie she might deal with in Pittsburgh
that's coming in a couple of weeks now, I said
it might be No, no, no, I'm not saying he's bad.
I'm just saying, like, let's not act like who were
about to sit up here and act like having options?

(04:05):
Is not a reality?

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Hold on a second, Wait a second, wait, stop for
a second here, I think we just hit a car
on that one here. Yeah, Rob, you're a woman, you're
a girl.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Oh my gosh, he's coming to play a football game.
And I'm not.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Oh you're not no, yeah, so any yeah, and there's
nothing wrong with that. Don't have sex with these guys.
They all got diseases.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
I'm celibate.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Don't you ever seriously make sure you're always wearing protection.
What's going on or they're wearing protection? What's going on, Derek?
I how's it going, Derek? We just had a literally
big moment just happened on the air where keV was
defending this guy, only to find out that Anna rob

(05:01):
he's got some fun stuff going on in her life.
What's going on? Would you want to say?

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Well? I want to say is that everything he said
in that text to Anna is now void.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
It doesn't make sense because.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
If you're dumping chilings into someone like that, you shouldn't be.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
He's just trying to get laid.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Yeah, that's what I thought too.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah, but did you hear it?

Speaker 7 (05:19):
Again? He didn't do anything wrong, however, Anna, I would
feel the same way of like, but it does speak.

Speaker 8 (05:25):
It does speak a little bit about his character and.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
He's still sending me. I saw him out with another girl.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
I know you were quickly dialing, Derek.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Did you hear the part where keV was talking about
uh Anna's Pittsburgh Steeler guy?

Speaker 9 (05:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:41):
I did hear that too, But I mean it still
doesn't make it doesn't get this guy out of the
hole for what he did.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Very disappointing.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Hey, son, you're a disappointment to your parents.

Speaker 8 (05:53):
Can we just talk about how good your text was
to him?

Speaker 6 (05:56):
Though?

Speaker 8 (05:56):
Of oh didn't you used to know?

Speaker 3 (05:59):
He freaked out.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
This is the single life people. I know y'all been
out the game for a while, but this is what happens.
People date around, They send out more than one message
if they're not tied down anyone.

Speaker 8 (06:10):
This is part of the game, by the way.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
I'm feeling you.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
But at first, everybody who's in your own shock, Oh
my god, how could he do such a thing?

Speaker 3 (06:17):
I just think everything he says to me now I
take as like very disingenuine, like no, you don't you
don't want to be with me, you don't want this, you.

Speaker 7 (06:25):
Should Well you just realized that he's not solely focused on,
you know, trying to win you back.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
For the record, I would never ever go back out
with him.

Speaker 8 (06:34):
So he keep drinking his wine with the girl.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
What do we what do we think is gonna happen here? Kevin?
I don't know she got options?

Speaker 4 (06:42):
You go move?

Speaker 7 (06:44):
So I know I have to ask because I'm invested
in the other where this went to. So the Pittsburgh
Steelers guy that you're gonna go visit, but then you
canceled your trip because he kind of like started ghosting
you after you booked a ticket.

Speaker 8 (06:55):
Who texted who first?

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Like, we're not even really texting. He's just in my
DMS a little bit. So I know he's coming in
town to play the Lion soon, so he probably wants
me to come to the game and like see him after.
But I mean, maybe I'll go to the game just
so he can see how good I looks. But that's it.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
How good I looks. I like it, not looks I
like it?

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Man, oh man, Hold on a second, Harold, Where's that
I wanted I was looking for? And that's the wrong song?
I was looking for a song I was looking for.
I was looking for. My mama told me, I bet
shop around?

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Was that it? Or is that that? I don't know
what the beginning?

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Isn't that Smoky Norfolk, No Smokerobin, Smoky Robinson? Yeah, speaking
of him, he's he's got, he's not too not too
kind to his his like house clean her or something
like that.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Right, he's getting legedly in trouble. Liz, what's up, Liz?

Speaker 10 (07:54):
Hey, Okay, so I totally understand where Kevin's coming from
at the same time for Anna like that first caller said,
he was like basically dumping feelings on her, saying, Oh,
I miss you, and then what twenty less than twenty
four hours later, was at the bar with another girl.
So no, you don't miss me, exactly, you don't. You
don't actually want to be with me. You're just looking

(08:14):
for like a body to comfort.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
You, exactly. It's cuffing season two. Things can be true,
though it's yeah, thank you, Anna.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
You can miss the love of one woman and yearn
for the attention of another.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Hey, Janelle, Hi, what's going on?

Speaker 10 (08:35):
I just want to let I don't know if she
needs anyone to go to the game with her.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
So he can see how good she looks, so she's
not alone.

Speaker 8 (08:41):
I'll go with her.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Perfect, I'll ask for two tickets.

Speaker 11 (08:46):
Yeah, there we go. Then we can just fill them
how we both look and then he can feel bad
that he didn't have you go.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
How good are the seats that they give players for girls?
Do they and they sit all the girls in the
same section? Did they put them all? I remember pistons
at the Palace. My buddy used to do the sea
seating for all those guys. He said that they would
keep family in one area, they would keep you know, uh,
the not so family in the other area.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
I would really love to do boss up on him
and not even ask for a ticket, but show up
like I'll reach out to my people at the lines
and be like, hey, I want to shoot a video
for you. Let me on the field, and then he.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
Just sees me.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Oh, that would be that would be big. What's up, Cal,
how you doing d He just took my He just
took my hearing away from me. On a second.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Why did you say I can't understand what you're saying?
How long are you there?

Speaker 4 (09:36):
Cal? First of all, first time, long time. I want
to do my own horns.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
He got his own horse, Go ahead, as long as
he doesn't blow my ear drums out call on the
fun I did it.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
That was it with my mouth. Hey, so listen. If
he's a dog, that's my dog. Man. He's not exclusive
to anybody, you know what I mean. He expressed his
desire to commit there, but he's not going to commit
there until she's willing to.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Go out on another date.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Man, and cal let me say this next time.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
You have to fully explain yourself before you start giving
me mouth stuff. Okay, I'm gonna go you all right,
Thank you appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Kel you single? You want to go out with Anna Rob?

Speaker 4 (10:17):
I'm married, man, so I can't go out.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
You're not going out with Anna Rob?

Speaker 3 (10:21):
All right?

Speaker 1 (10:21):
What's up Courtney?

Speaker 4 (10:22):
Hi?

Speaker 11 (10:24):
Hi, good morning. I don't want to get in trouble,
but sometimes I feel like Anna and keV get a
little bit jealous of each other and not in a
brother sister way, but and maybe think you're a cute
way but don't want to admit it.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
I was literally gonna do this as a topic because
at Lydia's wrapping party, the first thing what was her name? Kevin?
The woman that was Sandra says to me, is it
kind of comes off like you love Kevin on air?

Speaker 1 (10:51):
I'm like, I've said that. Yeah, I can't get.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Away from this. I do love Kevin as my brother. Kevin,
You're amazing, But Kevin's a man.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
I don't know what i'd be. We're not dating Kevin.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
Kevin is an all man, not like that guy that's
ordering martini.

Speaker 11 (11:06):
You're not dating yet, but do you want to date?

Speaker 1 (11:08):
No?

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, by the way, let me tell you. Let me
tell you this one. Anna showed up at the game.
I had an extra pair of tickets to the game,
so I said, anybody want him? She was first in
the chat that said yes, and so I sent him
to her. She showed up at the game and I
sent her a text because I could see her sitting
over there with a guy, and I go, is that
a date?

Speaker 1 (11:26):
And she goes, is he my type?

Speaker 9 (11:29):
And I realized no, it's a white dude, and that
too first.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
All right, thank you Courtney.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
