Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mojo in the morning.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
I feel bad even picking on Shannon this morning, because no.

Speaker 3 (00:03):
It's fine, No, she is. You're going to be doing
it the damn dirty tomorrow by yourself.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
She's She's in a very kind of fragile state right now.
Literally Christmas almost killed her yesterday. And I want to
bring this up now because I want listeners to participate.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
If you have ever had this happen to you, if you.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Ever almost got killed by anything Christmas related, Sannah, his reindeer,
Missus Claus, Jesus and the Manger God.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
What if it was Jesus, the mange or one of
the wise men.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Maybe you got beat over the head by wrapping paper.
Shannon almost had literally Christmas kill her. Will you explain
the story, Shannon?

Speaker 4 (00:48):
So I somehow convinced my husband to let me put
out a few I'm going to say wintery decorations ahead
of Thanksgiving because they're not necessarily Christmas. I have all
these like fake trees that I put on my porch,
and some like fake garland that I put on my fireplace.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
So like those sorts of things.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Well, I keep all of that stuff in an attic
that's above my garage, which is accessed by a super
rickety I think very unsafe woll would pull down ladder.
So I also brought down a bunch of bins that
had some stuff in it. Anyway, took us about thirty minutes.
And so Wes is actually in the attic passing this

(01:28):
stuff down this rickety ladder to me and he hands
me a bin about this big, you know, like a
normal rubber maide size bin. So I try to balance
it on my left shoulder as I go down the
whole of the attic like back down into the garage,
and stupid me is wearing crocs to do this, and
I lost my footing while trying to balance on the ladder,

(01:51):
fell off the top of the ladder on thank god,
not onto the garage floor. But Wes's jeep hardtop was
right there, so I fell.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Onto that and then the bind fell on top of it.
That could have been wow.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Honestly, I can't believe I didn't break my left arm,
Oh my god or something.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Honestly, hit your head and hurt yourself and I fell.
Did you really like what your body fell on it?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
The left side of my body the fell on top
of me.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Is it numbering?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
There?

Speaker 5 (02:20):
No?

Speaker 1 (02:20):
It's okay.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
But West was like, what Joseph, I mean, I fell
from the top of that ladder.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Oh my god, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Did you then get back up on the ladder and
help him get rid of the rest of the stuff.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
No, I want my Christmas. I'm like, look at here.
I'll show you this picture. Look at the stats like
this is the kind of stuff he hates me. Like,
my just filled the stuff right now.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
You're an amaze. That's a forest forest.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Eight four four Mojo Live eight four four six six
five six five four eight. This is like Christmas Vacation
the movie when he got tangled little lights and almost died.
Is anybody ever been killed by Christmas? Or almost killed
by Christmas?

Speaker 1 (03:06):
See? Probably have come close to this.

Speaker 7 (03:09):
Is like like when I was younger, my mom used
to buy like real glass type ornaments, Like she was
a real ornament type person. Now I remember, you know,
a couple of them things fall and break. I think
you sweep up all the glass so you get a
your foot.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
It's the worst. That's the worst, right there.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
How about those little silver things that you put ornaments
on to hang your tree and one gets lost in
the carpet. Next thing you know, you're stepping on it.
Next thing you're going and you're going to get a
tetnis shot.

Speaker 1 (03:39):

Speaker 9 (04:15):
Brother in law?

Speaker 8 (04:15):
Last year, she uh, she was going to get the
decorations down from the attic, which now I'm the only
one allowed in the attic because I'm a carpenter and
you know, know how to walk on truck.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Yeah, she fell right through the drywall.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
So terrified that's gonna happen to me because we have
so much stuff up there right now and.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I feel like it's kind of creaky. Well, I don't.
It's a floor to me.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
I know, I know, you know it may seem like
a floor, but trust.

Speaker 9 (04:48):
Me, no.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
House right now.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Hey, Joey, are you going to decorate less this year
because you're near death last year?

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Or will you decorate just the same.

Speaker 8 (05:02):
Oh no, I am hold on going, Clark w Gris.

make the cake.

Speaker 2 (05:20):

that is out there. Home Alone, brou I'm telling you

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Nobody's leaving chevy Cha, nobody's.

Speaker 5 (05:32):

four alarm holiday emergency.

We're gonna press on and we're gonna have the half
half happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tat Dance with Danny

that chair, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch holes this
side of the nuthouse.

Speaker 9 (06:05):
Good morning everybody?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Why were you almost killed by Christmas?

Speaker 9 (06:10):
When I was two? Yeah, I a couple of days
before Christmas. It was right after my mom had my sister,
so she was a brand new baby, and it was
right before Christmas, and I wanted to see what was
in my stocking. So I pulled on my stocking and
the ceramic stanna on top that was holding it cel
right on my forehead and busted my forehead open. And

(06:33):
there was so much blood. My dad was like, it
was coming.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Out of your forehead.

Speaker 9 (06:36):
So it just wouldn't stop. There was blood everywhere. They
had to rush me into the er and I had
to get stitches in my forehead at two years old.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
It literally almost had an artery and died because of
that stupid stack guy.

Speaker 9 (06:48):
And I have a I've got a scar on my forehead.
There's like a little white scar on my forehead from
where the stitches were.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Oh, Santa Christmas, Yep, it's not. What's up, Cam, How.

Speaker 9 (07:01):
You doing good?

Speaker 10 (07:04):
It wasn't Christmas, it was Halloween and I was super
excited to get the decorations from the attic like Shannon
and pulled down the ladder. My daughter was about three
years old watching, and I climbed up through the ladder
and I stepped through the dry wall and fell through
the plank and all the way through the garage while

(07:28):
my daughter watched me fall through the hole. And I
remember just like I fell on my butt. I was
really lucky. And I remember just laying there thinking, am
I bleeding? Do I have anything broken? And I remember
her just looking at me saying, moms, all through the
through the roof.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
You know what's funny is that there's there's those stories
all the time about people that try to rob stores
by going through the roof tiles and stuff like that.
And it was somebody, some guys. I got stuck, didn't
he again a sneaker story. Yeah, you're right, like you
got stuck in the roof. You had that happen to you.
You almost killed yourself.

Speaker 10 (08:08):
I was pretty I was pretty bruised up, and I
had a lot of scrapes on my ribs and on
my arms, and I was lucky I didn't break anything
in But I bet.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
You you kept decorating, Yeah, you kept going.

Speaker 10 (08:21):
I did my husband was mad at.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Me, and so Shannon, did you finish? Is all your
decorations done?

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Then no, we pulled everything down. I just and then
I had to go to a school thing. So he
was like, great, now it's just sitting.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
In the c.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
And is there a big old dent on West's uh Jeep,
I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
I don't know how, but I don't know how.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
She's light and she yeah, a feather

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
