Speaker 1 (00:00):
Alright, it's Mojo in the morning. So Bianca says her

(00:02):
friends are getting on her about something.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
What's up.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Yeah, So yesterday I went on like a little coffee
date with this guy I'm talking to and we just
went to Starbucks.

Speaker 4 (00:12):
We just got two coffees.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
It was pretty chill, and I offered to pay for it,
and I did pay for it because I feel like
small things like that is okay to pay for. But
I told my friends about this situation. I was like, yeah,
I bought his coffee. They're like, you bought them coffee.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
You paid for it, And I don't think it's that
big of a deal.

Speaker 5 (00:29):
Wait, I'm confused with it.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Yes yet, but.

Speaker 5 (00:35):
They think that he should pay for everything all the time.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Yes, I don't.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Yes, being a guy, they think that he should pay
for it, especially being keldy, And I guess it's part
of the culture.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Men pay for everything.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
But I don't think it's a big deal, especially for
small things like this.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Describe. Okay, just give me a paint a picture for me.
You guys, go get coffee. Where are you at Starbucks?
And I was like, I'll pay for it. I'll get
this one.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
And what did he say?

Speaker 4 (00:58):
He said, okay, sure, because I also got to use
my Starbucks points.

Speaker 5 (01:01):
There's the problem, all right, wait, there is problem with
this scenario.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
No, no, no, there is a problem. The problem is
at least make the attempt, like at least says at
least make the attempt and go no, no, no no, and
then you goes, no, I want to get this one.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Well no, he said, should I should I pull my
card out? And I was like, no, it's okay, I'll
just scan my app It's fine.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Should I wait?

Speaker 6 (01:21):
So hey, the story gets deeper, so you had the
bearista y'all, get youall little VMT, y'all, y'all drinking, y'all drinking,
And then he looks into his sad Should.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
I pull my card up?

Speaker 6 (01:32):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah, that's a problem. That's a problem.

Speaker 7 (01:35):
But no, no, no, no.

Speaker 6 (01:37):
No, it wouldn't be an issue if you said I
got this one.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
Well I did say that. He's like, you don't want
me to pull my card out?

Speaker 8 (01:43):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Okay, so you spoke up first.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Okay, you don't think I should get my card out? No,
I got it, which I don't think is an issue.
He drives us around everywhere, like when we go on
other dates and stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
He pays for things.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
This is very normal everywhere.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
I don't think it's that.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Big of ada.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
And for those who don't know how old Bianca is,
Bianca is twenty two years old.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Yes, I'll be twenty three next month.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
And he is twelve or he's nineteen, okay, but he
acts like he's twenty five. I don't think that it's
a bad thing that you paid, but I think it
is one of those things where I think, just make
an attempt and try.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
I don't even think that I would actually start to
get offended if you were not going to let me
pay for anything.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Ever.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Yeah, and it's still.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
So fresh, and especially we're not like officially dating or whatever.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
I don't think. I don't think a man needs to
pay for everything.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
I maintained fifty guys should pay for first date. It's
just I'm old fashioned that way. I do think guys
should pay for first date. After that, Yeah, first day,
he did, we'd you do for your first day?

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Imagine theaters?

Speaker 2 (02:47):
And he paid for the tickets he did.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Okay, you sure you don't use your Imagine pass?

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Did he give you popcorn?

Speaker 8 (02:54):
No?

Speaker 4 (02:54):
We did by popcorn. We didn't eat it. Though, but
we did buy it.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Oh what did you do?

Speaker 4 (03:02):
I don't think we got to We don't want.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
To eat it all right?

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Eight four forjolve a four four six six five sixty
four a text nine five five zero zero.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
What do you think, Lydia, I want to know what
your opinion is this.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
I don't think it's a big deal.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
I think the first couple of times it can be
like fifty to fifty, But once it gets to a
certain point that it seems like you guys are at
he should be paying for everything, really, see, I think
as you get more progressed in the relationship, it's more.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Fifty to fifty.

Speaker 9 (03:28):
Same.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
That's how I think.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
I don't think a man should be paying for everything.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
No, I think I think when you're in a relationship, honestly,
he should pay.

Speaker 8 (03:35):
Really, I really do.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
I think as a guy, you want to pay for everything,
and you should, you know, make the attempt to pay first.
But if your girl want to treat you every nine
and it's not the end.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Of the way, I don't.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
I go back and forth all the time, and we
don't share the majority of our finances, and we go
back and forth.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
I think though, that you guys are married and I know,
but that used the family card or whatever.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
But we that's what I'm saying, we don't because that
is only for household expenses like the mortgage and the
dt e BO.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
See.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
I would and in that case, if I was this
was me and Chelsea, I would make her pay for
the expensive meals And who.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Pays for them? Who do you think pays more?

Speaker 5 (04:14):
You or him?

Speaker 6 (04:17):
Me?

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Me?

Speaker 5 (04:19):
Me, Yeah, just because I'm sneaky, because I'm sneaky in
all corner, the you know, a waiter if we're out,
when I have to pretend to go to.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
The bathroom, you have to slip your card like you're
out with other people when.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
You're then it becomes like a f I'll pay, y'all
you paid, that's and I'll pay. And I'm like, no,
I'm just I don't just pay.

Speaker 6 (04:40):
When it got to those situations, because when you are,
you know, dating a boss, ass bitch or somebody that
like also wants to pay for certain things, sometimes the
way the bill will come and there may be a
little argument every now and then.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
One of the things I used to do used to
do rock paper scissors.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
That makes it fun, that makes it less pressure on
either party a little game and make it work like that.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
I feel like if we ever went on to like
a formal dart, we haven't done that yet, I would
expect him to pay for it.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
What if I look over at the table.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Of a grown ass man and a grown ass woman
and they're playing rock papers or fighting for the bell
and we're doing rock paper sits in the bed that
night too?

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Is that for a position of who's justin? What's up? Justin? Hey,
how's it going good? What do you think about this?

Speaker 8 (05:31):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (05:31):
I think it's okay for either or to pay, But
I mean maybe the first time kind of like what
Shannon was saying that the guy should but like I
just went on a date the other day last Friday,
and you know, I offered to pay, but she kind
of fought with me a little bit.

Speaker 10 (05:45):
And I was like, let me just pay the first time,
And you know, I guess it's okay for or justin?

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Big question who buys the condoms?

Speaker 8 (05:58):
I think I'm gonna take care of that.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
You're gonna take care of that one. That's actually the
more expensive part of the whole thing, depending on where
you're eating. So uh, what's up, Kirsten?

Speaker 7 (06:06):
Hi, Hey guys, good morning.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Good morning morning. What's going on?

Speaker 8 (06:12):
Hey?

Speaker 7 (06:12):
I just have a comment, just you know, it's fine
to pay for stuff. I have a friend, like my
best friend, took her a while to get a man,
but wow, wow, she's with them. She's just so independent.
She called me one day to be like yo, like
she's fighting with them, arguing with him. She's like, I
told him I had the groceries and I don't need

(06:33):
his dang help. But I'm like, girl, you gotta let
him bring in the groceries with you, Like you don't
have to do everything yourself. It's okay. But it's like,
you know, you guys can split the split the love,
split the love.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
It's fine. Fine.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
I will say I will say this that I think
in relationships, you know, you go out to meals and
stuff like that, if you're the if you as a
woman are constantly making meals at home and stuff like that,
I think he should pay for some of the groceries. Like,
I really do think he should unless he's paying for
everything when you guys are going out and this is
your way to replenish, you know everything there I you know,

(07:07):
I don't know. I'm still old school with this whole thing.
To me, I'm old school. And the fact that it's coffee,
like that's the you.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Know exactly, it's so small right in.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Okay, that is actually a good thing. Yeah, let you
just take the coffee. That's good. But the next go around,
if you are pulling your card out, don't pull your
card out for the.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Next Okay, I won't.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
But I'm saying, like he drives me around everywhere he
paid for, Like we got Chick fil A and he
paid for that.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Like I don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Okay, if we go out to a formal dinner like.

Speaker 6 (07:36):
Restaurant, can y'all please all these cheap ass dates, can
y'all go somewhere?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
But they're twenty two, we're not.

Speaker 6 (07:43):
Come on, they can go somewhere Chick fil A, Starbucks,
they can imagine where they can go somewhere in.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
The Chick fil A or you guys, get it in
your car because he drives a Tesla, so he doesn't
want to mess up the tesla.

Speaker 6 (07:53):
You know, he's not paying for gas. He can't make
you through the drive through car is messy when she.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
See that the cars are actually really nice, so I'm
not going to mess that up.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
What's up Cody?

Speaker 8 (08:11):
Hey, guys, Yeah, I usually pay for all the stuff
out with the lady and everything. But what Shannon does
I do the same thing? Uh? You know, I sneak
the card to the server. But then I got burned.
One thousand dollars bill in Traverse City?

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Oh my god? Where help you guys go?

Speaker 8 (08:28):
Yeah? So very what a tasting room? I guess wherever
it was not as expensive as it was.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Did you get anything out of that?

Speaker 9 (08:36):
Or no.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Bottle of wine?

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Only they eat tasty or bastard? That's an expensive date?
There a thousand bucks? My goodness?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
What's up? Brandon?

Speaker 6 (08:49):
Hi?

Speaker 10 (08:51):
Hi? How are you? The first time? Long time on
a boat? So the first thing I wanted to say
is the fact that I've been listening to you guys
for so long that somebody on the show is dating
a nineteen year old makes you feel old.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
I'm shocked too.

Speaker 10 (09:10):
But the second part of my comment is I'm very
old school in my dating, so I feel like it's
my responsibility to take care of everything. But if a
woman is offering to pay for something like, I don't
care if it's a coffee or if we're doing like
an event and let's just say we go to the
zoo or something like that, and she's like, oh, well,
let me get lunch because you pay for that. Like

(09:32):
I'm spoiling that woman for life, because she's showing me
that she's just as invested as I am.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Yeah, would you let her pay?

Speaker 6 (09:39):
Though?

Speaker 4 (09:39):
If she's offering.

Speaker 10 (09:41):
I would fight around it a little bit, like I'll
I'll pull on that receipt a little bit, but depending
on the amount, Like I don't want her to be
paying like a hundred bucks or something like that. But
if it's like ten, fifteen, twenty bucks, whatever, all right, cool,
no problem, But I'm not going to take it, you know,
just laying down or whatever.

Speaker 6 (09:58):
And what if that's her way of showing love and
then you're not allowing her to express herself. She wants
to show love, which ain't gonna work.

Speaker 10 (10:06):
So I'm okay with that. Like as you like, but
as you progress, like you guys were saying, like, as
you progress, the deeper you get into things, like I'm
I'm easing up on that, right because we've learned each other,
we've talked about a lot, we've had that conversation, so like,
I know, I've learned her way to express Like, if
that's what she wants to do, if she wants to
treat me outstanding, that's perfectly fine, because I'm I'm cool

(10:30):
with that, Like that's that's okay. Early on, I am
very old school. But as things progress and as you
put in that time and you have those conversations, you know,
if if I have a woman that wants to spoil
me because I treat her very well outstanding, like you've
hit the lotto man, there you.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Go, Well, what if she what if she uses the
opportunity to maybe buy you something or to do something
for you nice, like to give you, you know, to say, hey,
I want to you know, I want to give you
something for being so so generous with me, like uses
that opportunity. I think, Like I think I look at
it as like when Chelse and I first got together,

(11:06):
I had no money. She made more money than I did,
and I always tried to pay, and if I didn't
have money to go out and pay, we didn't go
out because I didn't want to be stuck with hey,
you're paying.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
For this, I feel you.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
That's been a very uncomfortable position for me to be
in in certain relationships where prior to having someone who
bought me something or was the first one to pull
out a car, that was very uncomfortable because that's not
how I was raised, for one, and that was never
anything that another woman did prior to that person, So
it was very uncomfortable for that switch to be like

(11:37):
wait a second, this is this is okay, or this
is somebody that does love differently than I've ever been loved.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
It's an adjustment period.

Speaker 5 (11:44):
That's so interesting to hear because to me, it's like
I am successful, and I've worked hard to be successful,
and I'm so proud that I am able to put
my card in and do this. It's like a not
even like a flex but it's important for me to
be a to do that, and I'm grateful that I'm
able to do that.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
And I think that that's good.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
But I think as a guy, I think that you
you have to have that conversation too, because I think
there are the social and societal constructs that make you
feel like you're not a man if you're not paying right.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
And it is so interesting to me when I am
the one that pays and the waiter or waitress comes
and brings the bill back and puts it in front
of West.

Speaker 8 (12:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Time.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Like in the past, I've had guys that would like
I would drive around, they'd pay my gas.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
Some guy bought me shoes like all things like that.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Before I was like, yes, I deserve that, But I
feel like with him, I don't really need that.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Like I don't even care if he made money or not.
I don't really care. I think it's the connection we have.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Do you feel like a sugar daddy type thing paying
for all that stuff?

Speaker 7 (12:42):
No?

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Do I feel like a sugar dad?

Speaker 8 (12:43):
No?

Speaker 1 (12:44):
No, I'm saying when your guy does that, Like if
a guy's buying you shoes and buying you things like that,
I feel like that's kind of weird.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
I feel like it's nice in the moment, but it
doesn't really mean anything. I feel like the connection that
me and this kid a bill is way better than
any monetary value ever.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Think is he the one?

Speaker 4 (13:00):
I think he could be?

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Chick filate is what kind of coffee does he order?
Is it expensive one?

Speaker 4 (13:05):
Or sugar cookie latte from Starbucks?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
What size grand Grand?

Speaker 4 (13:13):
I think it's a trente.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
If I know it is funny when you know you
don't care if I know somebody's paying. Honestly, I always
order the size I never would order, or a small
smaller size smaller, yes, because I don't want you.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
And by the way, when it's you, you then order
everybody the biggest size Thrust
