Speaker 1 (00:01):
In the morning's Journey on the thirty, we'll get you
caught up on what is trending this morning to the
Journey on thirty. We're going for fifteen today for tenn A,
so he's going for the big one. We'll see what
kind of question Shannon comes up with for do you
want to play him tomorrow or do you kind of
go you know what, I want to make him lose today?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
No, I actually kind of want to flay him tomorrow
kind of.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
And now that I'm thinking about it, I think I
made the questions we too easy today. Yeah, I might
have to do a little revice, Okay. Lebron James is
facing some backlash this morning after hyping an announcement as
a major sequel to his bombshell twenty ten decision to
join the Miami Heat.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Yeah, what was that about yesterday?

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Well, not basketball, had to do with alcohol.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Oh god, I.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Feel like it's going to give me the best opportunity
to win more at hosting.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Not only that when I signature cocktails, when I have
a good time, when I impress.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
This commercial basically for kind of Saints.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
So he ended up making it look easy when at
leaving people wanting more.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Yeah, a little clap with Hennessy.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
I saw one comment that said, Lebron guess what everybody?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
People were just so pissed off about this.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
I think still think that there's something too like when
is he going to retire? And a lot of people
have said that they thought this year it will all
depend on how he starts, and if he starts off hot,
like really good, he'll retire at the end of the year.
And if he doesn't, if he has a season kind
of like he did last year where it was kind
of an type of season, it was the well he

(01:39):
always is, he's Lebron James, he should but the problem
is that he doesn't want. The rumor is he does
not want to go out and have a season like
Jordan had his last season when he played for the
Washington Wizards at the time, which what they were called.
But because I think that you want to go out
and you want to be good still and you don't
want it to be a situation where they're you know,

(01:59):
looking like Lebron costing the team.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Yeah, well, right now he's out with injury, so he
won't be playing in the preseason. He has an irritation
or nerve damage in his glut, so he's looking to
be ready for the season opener. But I also feel
like Lebron will kind of do the Kobe Bryant thing
where he announces that this will be his last season
so he can have the full season of everybody understanding
this is his last bands and.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Setting him off and out.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Jimmy Kimmel has lost seventy one percent of his audience
since his so return to air last month. ABC announcing
last month that Kimmel's show would come back after Disney
Remembers suspended it over a monologue in which Kimmel claimed
that MAGA fans were trying to politically benefit from Charlie
Kirk's killing. And I want to give you a little

(02:45):
example of how big of a deal, how drastic this is.
So Jimmy had one point seven million people between the
ages of twenty.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Five and fifty four.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
That's a big popular demographic watching his return show. His
first showback Thursday, Jimmy Kimmelive had just two hundred and
sixty five thousand viewers in that same age group. From
one point seven mil to two hundred and sixty five thousand.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Yeah, is that in line with like how his viewership.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
It was kind of Yeah, it was kind of what
it was before.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
The part that is wild to me and I still
don't get it, is that the ratings that that guy
that's on Fox News, Greg Gottfeldt gets, he gets he
gets like two million people at night, but it's all
people that are you know, the the Fox News Republican
people that watch.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
It's very niche.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
So you're looking at it going how because late night
television used to have a ton of people. But we
talked about this in our studio. I don't think we
mentioned this on the air. Kimmel and Fallon and Colbert,
they're not competing against each other, just like us here
on the radio. We're competing against things on TikTok. We're
you know, you're competing against comedians that put out stuff

(03:58):
like Barstool. In a lot of those stories that I
was reading was like Barstool will put stuff out at
night knowing that that's when the audience is, and so
it competes for people that normally would have watched the
comedy of Jimmy Kimmel.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
At night, you know what I mean. So there's just
so many other options now.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Yeah, art as good as they used to be like,
is Jimmy Kimmel Coble, Are they as good as Letterman
and Lino?

Speaker 1 (04:25):
I don't know, you know what I mean. I don't know,
Like are the younger audience watching them, Like my son
doesn't watch late night television at all, but the guy
freaking watches anything that Theo Vaughn puts out.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
I also think it does go to though there are
so many other options, Like I can remember if I
ever got to stay up late, I would watch Letterman's
Top ten list. I don't know why I loved that,
And I think if he it was very, very popular,
if he had that now, we'd all be like, we'd
rather be watching or doing something else.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
It's just the landscape has changed so much there.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
But on set, hanging out on Keiki Palmer's podcast and
the long standing rumor that he cheated on Cardi B
with Sweetie.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Was it true?

Speaker 3 (05:05):
So you was Sweetie?

Speaker 5 (05:06):
No man? It was a roma man, And I feel
like I feel like it was something deeper in that
for the split of me and bro it was something
deeper in that deep that I don't really want to
touch on. But it's something deeper in that.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
And we don't really know many details. When Quavo and
Sweetie broke up, Quavo dropped hints in his song Messy,
suggesting that she had cheated. Offset like you just said said,
there's something deeper, but he will not ever go into details,
at least not yet.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Ps.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
He also said in that interview that his divorce from
Cardi B has not been finalized.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
And real quick, if you love wordle, do people still
play wordle? Okay, we'll tell her.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
NBC is developing a TV game show version of Wordle,
with Jimmy Fallon attached as producer. Savannah Guthrie from The
Todays is set to host. For Everything you missed from
Today's show, you can always catch up on the podcast
