I want to start off the morning with the latest
in the tragic deaths of Rob and Michelle Rein are
still sending shockwaves through Hollywood. This morning, their thirty two
year old son Nick, charged with both of their murders.

Tonight, Rob Reiner's son Nick, making his first appearance in court,
charged with his parents' murders.

Shielded from the camera. By this partition, Reiner was shackled
wearing a suicide prevention SMOT.

taken into custody Sunday, cornered by police cars, his hands
raised in the air. Just moments before his arrest, he
was captured on this surveillance footage buying a drink at
a nearby convenience store. Sources to say early Sunday morning,
he had checked into this hotel in Santa Monica after
police believe he killed his parents with a knife. Today,

the medical Examiner revealing their causes of death as multiple
sharp force injuries. The LAPD says they were found in
their bedroom, law enforcement sources to l ABC News. Midday Sunday,
a massage therapist came by the house and called the
Reiner's daughter Romy when no one answered the door. Romy
then found her father's body. To night, she and her

brother Jake, making their first statement since the tragedy, writing
words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we
are experiencing. They weren't just our parents, they were our
best friends. When Harry met Sally star Meg Ryan, breaking
her silence saying thank you, Robin Michelle for the way
you believe in true love, in fairy tales and in laughter.

And a group of the couple's closest friends, including Billy Crystal,
Albert Brooks, and Larry David werecalling a line from one
of Rob's favorite films, It's a wonderful life. Each man's
life touches so many other lines. And when he isn't around,

Hyanne David Dick Reiner is now due back in court

January seventh for his arraignments. If he's convicted of murdering
his parents, it could potentially face the death penalty.

all the rest of that. And to see that that

they had going on. I can't imagine that my kid
would come in and brutally like it's one thing that

or whatever. The deals a knife to me just seems
more brutal. The idea that you know, it's just passion,

is is it the drugs that he's taken that make

Atlanta rapper Young Thug got down on one knee and
proposed to his longtime girlfriend Mariah the Scientist on stage

he pulled out a massive diamond ring. She responded with joy,

it on her finger, So that was a yes. They've
been dating since twenty twenty one. A big congratulations to them,
and real quick, Little Caesar's Arena will be getting some
serious renovations to prepare it for Detroit's future. Excuse me,
w NBA team. The Detroit Downtown Development Authority approved a

plan yesterday to provide up to five million dollars in
cash reimbursement toward the anticipated eight and a half million
dollar cost of the LCA renovations that include this locker.

New locker rooms for both the home team and visiting team.
And then they're also going to be doing and I
did not know this. I thought they practice at the
Pistons practice facility over by Wayne State. They're they're getting
their own practice facility on the riverfront, so by kind
of where the old Joe Louis Arena was. Yeah, so
that's going to be kind of an interesting, uh, an

interesting little thing. I feel like all of this is amazing,
but I feel like once Little Caesars Arena was announced
way back when, didn't it take like over seven hundred
million dollars, and there was supposed to be like this
whole excuse me, District Detroit thing with like apartments like
now we need another five, like wapping all that money

right right now, it's just the arena. Where's all the
fun and all that crap around me? I don't know
that's it is interesting. I actually think Tom Gores should
just go get his own arena. I think, well, is
he partying her this w NBA team or no, there's
a collective he's a member, Like I still think to myself.
First off, I wish it'd move it back to Auburn
Hills for God's sake, because I hate to drive downtown.

But I will say this to you, Tom Gores could
if he wanted to. If the team starts winning, he
could do that and not instead of being a tenant. Uh,
he could actually you know, be a landlord. Which somebody's
told me this. An insider has told me this, And
it wasn't you, Kevin, because you've never said anything about this.
But I I've always heard that the Pistons people always
kind of feel like the little brother there. Yeah, for sure,

I mean the Red Wings. Yeah, it is definitely a
red Wings building. Yeah, there's only so much you can
do as a as a tenant, and the the that
whole group, you know, the whole illage group doesn't necessarily
show and open up their arms to that organization as
much as they probably should do.
