Speaker 3 (00:46):
So this is big if you have some holiday travel planned.
The FAA is cutting US air traffic by ten percent.
That's huge, Nason Wine. As this historic government set down
rags into its second month. The move affects forty major cities,
including New York, Atlanta, Chicago, LA, and Detroit cities where
(01:07):
air traffic controllers are now working without pay under emergency
staffing rules. The FAA says the reductions are meant to
maintain safety amid unprecedented strain. This is Transportation Secretary Shaan Duffy.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I think it's going to lead to more cancelations.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
That we're going to work with the airlines to do
this in a systematic way. So airlines are rerouting flights,
they're trimming schedules. Travelers have been warned to brace for
longer lines.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I know.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
I saw Houston had like a four hour wait at
TSA over the weekend.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Somebody needs to.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Explain something to me with the Detroit Metro, which, by
the way, I didn't think that they were on the list.
I saw it really checked. Okay, how is it that
Detroit Metro. If you're a TSA worker, you got to
call and tell us that we haven't had the lines
like these other cities have had. Are the people from
the County Airport Authority pain guys? And that's why we
(02:01):
still have because I've had like multiple friends flying and
I got friends that just flew into town and they
were saying that the TREYE Metro seemed like the most
calm airport out of all the ones in the country.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Look at us.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
So here's what I don't understand about this. Are like,
I have a few flights coming up, Well, I how
far in advance? Well, I know if my flight is canceled.
I think a lot of travelers are asking this.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Well, they're saying that you should book two flights, which
I don't understand.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
Why.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
I use why do I would just cancel all the
you know this going on, this government shutdown thing, there
has to be more pressure that's put on these politicians
to reopen the government. And I think that this is
going to get to a point now where it's like
people are going to start pointing fingers more. And I
think the airlines have enough power to be able to say, no,
you guys got to figure this thing out.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
This is ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Yeah, and maybe maybe the government shouldn't control the FAA,
you know what I mean. I know this sounds weird
to say that, but maybe it needs us to be
a private entity, or with that, the airline's own, so
that we don't ever get faced with stuff like this
ever again, because I think in other countries it doesn't happen.
Has it always been government ran I think the FA
has always been Yeah, under the Transportation Department of Transportation.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
It's crazy trying.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
To look at any Ohio cities around this.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Lane and automobiles.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
My worst fear is like you ever seen in the
movies where you go in an airport and everybody's looking
up at the large board and everything's flipping, and then
it just goes.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Answer, Home alone, Home Alone, my God.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Erica Kirk wanted to see Charlie Kirk's body in the hospital,
but says she has never seen the video of him
being shot and she does not plan to. This is
from an interview she did yesterday with Jesse Waters.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
The video was everywhere. How do you process that?
Speaker 4 (03:55):
I never saw the video. I never will see it
ever want to see it. There's certain things you see
in your life that you can never unsee. There's certain
things you see in your life that mark your soul forever.
I don't want my husband's public assassination to be something
I ever see.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Same goes for her kids. She hopes that her children
never see that. She also talked about the whole Jimmy
Kimmel situation.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Jimmy Kimmel lied about your husband's murder and didn't really apologize.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
What would you say to Jimmy.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Kimmel, same thing I told Saint Clair.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
They asked, I haven't really told anybody this, So they asked,
do you want Jimmy to give you an apology? Do
you want to be on a show? How can we
make it right through our team? I responded, I said,
tell them, thank you. We received their note. This is
not our issue, not our mess. We are grieving and
(04:58):
we have an organization to run. My husband never told
people what to say. You do what you think is
best and write, and I prayerfully wish you the best.
But I will never ask someone to give me an
apology that they don't genuinely mean. That's between you and
(05:19):
the Lord. If you want to say I'm sorry to
someone who's greeting, go right ahead. But if that's not
in your heart, don't do it. I don't want it.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
And Starbucks is all ready for the holidays, announcing its
holiday menu with items like the caramel Breu Lai Latte,
iced sugar cookie Latte, and iced Gingerbread Chai.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
There's also a Hello.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Kitty collab this year, but all everybody cares about is
the bear. This glass Starbucks Berries to Cold cup has
become like the item that everybody's focused on right out
of the gate. It'll cost you twenty nine dollars and
ninety five cents.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
The cup is shaped like a bear.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Its top is designed to look like a green knit beanie,
and it has a green straw.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
It is adorable.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
It dropped today, and god speed to you and getting one,
because you're not going to get one today.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
I was there at five oh two. They open at
five o'clock, and I asked the guy in the drive
through do you have the bear? He goes, yeah, hold on,
and then he comes back and goes, we only got one,
and I think it's already claimed. So I think there's
a fake excitement to this thing. They only sent one
of the busiest Starbucks in our area one bear, and
(06:31):
they're selling out right away.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
They aren't selling very many of you.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
He told me that on average, the Starbucks that get
the bears each get an average of six What.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Yeah, it's stupid, which is great. What's fake hype?
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, by the way, and probably calm December one, then
they're gonna have a thousand.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
You're able to get them anywhere? Did you know what
I mean?
Speaker 1 (06:51):
I wasn't listening to you for a second. I was
setting up our winter line here with the winner in
a second, did you say the Starbucks strike thing?
Speaker 2 (06:58):
So I'm going to do that right now.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
In related dirty Starbucks unionized workers say they planned to
strike on November thirteenth, which Joe so happens to be
Red Cup day that would be wouldn't be wild, And
they're going to strike unless the company finalizes a labor
contract by that date. So employees are pushing to secure
a contract that offers better pay and more flexible.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
What happens first the Starbucks union situation where they get
those contracts right where the government shut down.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
In supposedly the government's going to reopen.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
The rumor has always been on the internet that they
had this date November sixth, planned thirty days ago. So
really so today there's always a conspiracy theorist that say
that they already know that. You know, this is all theatrical,
and everything's theatrical. So if it reopens today, then yeah,
believes some of that hype. But I think, honestly, I
think the government will reopen before the Starbucks strike is done.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
So the thirteenth, that's our deadline. Yeah right, I.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Think so give us anything from today's show. Go back
and listen to the podcast on the free iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
