Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're going to jingle Ball on December the ninth, whether
you like it or not, Actually, I want you to
come with us. I want you to be there so
that you can see Nelly and Shine Down, Zara Larsen,
all the others, Big Ex, the Plug, There's a whole bunch. Honestly,
there's so many people here, but I'm going to say
this to you. The two headliners of Nelly and shine Down,

(00:20):
they are the ones that are going to close out
the show, and we want you to be there when
all the confetti falls from the sky and we are
hanging out giving away a brand new car from Summit
Place Kia. It's our big end of the year celebration
for twenty twenty five and it's presented by Capitol One.
You can purchase tickets today at ticketmaster dot com or
win tickets now at eight four to four Mojo Live

(00:41):
eight four four sixty six five sixty five four eight,
the ninety fifth caller, good Luck.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Mo Jordan, The Morning's Dirty on the thirty.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
All right, Shinnon with the Dirty on the thirty. Here
on the Mojo in the Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Is yesterday's Tigers Game two loss on aj Hinches Shoulder
social media seems to think so, and yesterday he was
explaining his decision to pinch hit for Riley Green.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
The pinch hit was really more about Jami Jones, like
this guy's been good, including the last series when when
he single handly almost you know, won the game for
us when when we clinched. So it's not a knock
on Riley, not a knock on all the advats that
we had with runners in scoring position. It's a competition
one on one, and they won a lot of them.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Go back to Riety than historically really good for did
you've talk to the emuntion the moment you think.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
About it?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
So, our our players are all in, you know, I'm
going to go make sure our clubhouse music is on.
I'm gonna make sure we're pretty upbeat. I'm going to
make sure we realize that we have an opportunity to
win the series tomorrow. I have no need to really
talk to Riley about it because our players know how
we're built, what we're trying to do, and there's immense
trust amongst all of us. So if I see him,

(01:57):
I'll talk to him, but he'll be in there and
be rdy.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
We don't go home.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Yeah, he's a great manager. I don't even want to
question the guy. He's great. The problem is he overmanages
sometimes and he does all this analytics stuff and it works.
I think during the regular season. I think in the
playoffs you can't do it. And I'm only speaking from
the fact that I'm a fan that sees Casey Mice
having a great game, pitching great, only has sixty pitches.

(02:20):
I think at the time that he pulled them from
the game. He's your second best pitcher to Schooble. You
don't pull Scooble when Schooble's pitching great, don't pull Casey Mice.
And here's the thing I say to myself, I will
win or lose with my best players. You know, he'd
be like me saying, hey, you know what, Shannon, don't
do the dirty this time. Lydia does a great job

(02:42):
with the dirty. And your voice is a little bit
you know, raspy right now. No, no, I'm giving this
as an analogy. No offense, No offense to Lydia. I'm
more concerned about Lydia, not me. My voice is no,
no offense to Lydia. But Shannon's the goat. She does
the dirties and listeners want to hear.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
He's thirty on the thirties and I and I as
a fan want to see Casey miz out there now.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Waity, I'm grateful.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
What did you? I don't know why we needed that analogy.
I get good analogies now. Cavi, on the other hand,
I pull him in a second. I would tell you
way on my vocal court, like don't you agree? Like
in the NBA, you know basketball better than I do.
But in the NBA, don't even rest a guy play
on the entire where Lebron plays every minute of almost

(03:29):
every single playoff game because he's Lebron. Like it's.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I feel kind of dumb asking this question, But maybe
there's somebody in their car listening that doesn't know what
this means either.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
What does pinch hit mean? Do you know what it means?
It was he was it was Riley Green supposed to
be off the bat. They had a guy that was
sitting on the bench going and hit for him. You
sub him out?

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Why are you going to have the fancy name sub
him out?

Speaker 6 (03:55):
Also, as it relates to analytics in this particular situation,
pinch hitting when you look at the numbers. Riley Green,
I believe a set of franchise record this year for
the most strikeouts in Tiger's history. Yeah, he had two
and one was yesterday, So you got to striked out
that He's been striked out two hundred and one times,
so you got struck out. So you gotta think like

(04:17):
maybe that's why he had him pinch it is in
that situation we need listen.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Listen. I just hope that they win today because I
want to see them be able to have some games
at Coo America. We'll win today and if they and
if they don't win, we're going to look back on
the end of the season and the fact that they
blew it. So do you know who's pitching today? Jack
Flarerty who has not had a great season pitching, but
he's in the past. He won a World Series yesterday

(04:42):
with or last year with the Dodgers. We just need
them from one game. We need I know if he's
going to pitch good good at any point. This is
the game.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Kanye West and the Betrayal List a list of twelve
names posted and since deleted by the Way on X
earlier this week. The captain read, I am in pain
no person that no one person can fix before adding
the list, which was titled The Betrayal. The list included
Kim Kardashian, President Trump, I Show Speed, Diddy, Ty Dolla Sign,

(05:12):
Harriet tubmansh Teare Curious, Torch, Pete Davidson was on here,
Patrick Starr, who is from SpongeBob lebron King, Vaughn Playway, Cardi,
James Murray, Adolf Hitler, and yes, his own daughter Northwest
was on that list as well. It's obviously not on

(05:32):
X anymore, but the Internet was smart enough to screenshot it,
so it's still going around now. Circling back to Kim
Kardashian a story about her and Chris Jenner in the
Dirty Right now, they are suing ray J for defamation
after he linked their family to Ditty, and this actually
happened twice. If you watched that TMZ documentary from a

(05:53):
few months ago about Diddy, ray J was in it.
Ray J obviously dated Kim Kardashian for a couple of years.
They split in like two thousand and six, and he
said in that documentary that the Kardashians needed to be
investigated and charged with racketeering, but he didn't really give
any details. The Kardashians lawyer says that comment was a
false and very serious allegation.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
The lawsuit alleges.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
It was designed to plant the seed, which he then
escalated in a live stream where Ray J recently announced
that federal authorities were investigating the Kardashians on a rico charge,
calling it quote unquote worse than Diddy, and the Kardashians
lawyers essentially say, look, this goes back to him not

(06:39):
being able to accept the end of his relationship with
Kim Kardashian from twenty years ago.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
He's still going in.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Yeah, NBA Young Boys sold out Detroit show at Little
Caesar's Arena scheduled for this upcoming Monday evening has been canceled.
Unforeseen circumstances is the reason.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Apparently, what do we read.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
This news comes a week after the same thing happened
to his Chicago show, So he didn't do that one.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
What happened canceled. So they's canceled a couple of shows.

Speaker 6 (07:11):
Yeah, it's saying it's a more aggressive type of music
and crowd and that's why they.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Oh wait no, they're shutting it. So he didn't he
didn't cancel it.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Well, there was an altercation at one of his shows recently.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
What happened This.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Happens to a lot of Detroit artists too, is ben
News won't book them because they say the crowd gets
to the show.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I think it was Kansas City. In Kansas City, a
teenage fan attacked an arena employee. There was like a
felony assault charge there.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Does he then go on Mike and say stop this
and kind of like how everybody remember everybody was blaming
Travis God for that. I just think I think the artists,
if you're if your fans are out of control and
they're not respecting the people that work at the venues,
we got to have safety for the people that work
at the venues.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
But I mean, that's one venue and it happened one time,
one incident. I don't know if you start canceling all
shows because of it. But do you think though that
they know something that that. I mean, I can't imagine
that Little Caesar was gonna give up on money sold
out the show. You know, they keep canceling more shows
than there's something that they're believing that is happening. I
don't know, but again, the only report has come out

(08:29):
is one thing that happened one time. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Yeah. And lastly, two Delta Regional jets collided while taxing
on the ground at LaGuardia La LaGuardia Airport in New
York City.

Speaker 7 (08:42):
So we, uh, we just landed from New York on
a Delta flight from Charlotte, coming back from from work,
and we're taxing to a runway and we got absolutely
smashed by another Delta flight.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
I don't know if we hit them or if they
hit us, but it was half super jarring. Everyone was
shot forward in their seats and it was kind of
a little chaotic as soon as it happened. We were
kind of shocked at what happened. We're kind of moving
at it for a decent clip too. So right now
we got people knowing outside of planes taking photos, which

(09:20):
I don't know if it's airport security and whatnot. But
it's about a half packed.

Speaker 7 (09:25):
And three quarter packed Regional flight coming from Charlotte's at
Delta flight.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
The flight was uneventfal up.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Until it was The flight attendant had a non threatening
life or non life threatening injury. No passengers were hurt,
but both planes had to return to the terminal. All
of the passengers were given food and a hotel and
were rebooked on other flights.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
That's not enough.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Like, if anything was going to happen to me while
I was on a flight, I feel like this would
be the one that I would wind.

Speaker 6 (09:54):
What airline?

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Again?

Speaker 1 (09:56):
This fit? I almost said it, this fit eating grand
on you. He hates Delta, by the way, I don't
hate So it was Delta, you know they It wasn't Spirit,
it was Delta. Everybody, oh to Delta's did you did
you know that Delta is still superior? And this is
a shout out to Spirit and Delta? Did you know
that last year the airline that canceled the most people

(10:21):
off of flights without any explanation, it was American Airlines?
It was Frontier American and then Spirit and the one
that canceled nobody off of their their flights. Not one
person got canceled off of a flight four not one. Delta. Yeah,
why they offer you more money to get off of

(10:43):
the flight, and people take them up on the offer. Well,
either you fall.

Speaker 6 (10:47):
Out the sky or you gotta slide down one of
those slides you run into.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
You should take Greyhound.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
I would buy free flights for the rest of my life.

Speaker 3 (10:54):

The country Gamar it's the best. Yeah, that is the
best to be seeing Nelly perform that at the jingle

(12:03):
Ball along with Shinedown's also going to be there, Big X,
the Plug, Zara Larson, and a whole bunch more. Congratulations
to you. You got free tickets. Have you ever been
to a jingle Ball?

Speaker 6 (12:18):
I have?

Speaker 1 (12:19):
I have before. Okay, so the year before then you
saw Usher there and y jelly Roll. Yeah. Yeah, So
a lot of people are comparing Shinedown performing at jingle
Ball this year to jelly Roll because it seemed like
not a fit at the time, Like everybody's like, what
is nine to five five doing with jelly Roll? That's

(12:40):
a country artist. Then look at what jelly Roll has
now become. Jelly Roll is you know so mass appeal
and shindowns that way too. And I don't know if
you got a chance to see this, but if you
go on to Mojo in the Morning's Instagram page, uh,
the lead singer of Shinedown, who is like best buds
with our friends at iHeart Alyssa Pollock and Tony Trevado.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
I love it. That was cool. That's such a cool
guy man to do that. I'm excited to meet Brent
from Shindown. One of the biggest reasons is I think
what we do on a daily basis here in radio
is incredible. I think that we give people an opportunity
to be entertained for free. You know, like there's no
we're not charging you, you know, to do anything here

(13:41):
on the show. You can just turn on your radio
or listen to our podcasts and you don't have to
pay for that. And the fact that he's doing that
and he's doing this for us and showing love to
radio is awesome because I know that a lot of
the streaming services are excellent, we love them, but we
also honestly know that you got to pay to listen

(14:02):
to their music, and it's nice to still have music
for free.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
