Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, you want to grab Santa Sack.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
I want to and I want to grab it and
I want to hold it and say, you fat bastard
never brought me a big wheel when I was seventh.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
I thought you had a big wheel.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
It was I had the green machine. Great memory you
have there, Shannon.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
I know I may be getting old, but I do
still remember something.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
I got the I got the green machine for my
eighth Christmas, my eighth ero Christmas because I didn't get
the big wheel for my seventh and I was very
upset by that whole thing. So I wrote Santa a
letter and they never ever forget this. My letter was,
dear fat bastard, I will come after you and your family.

(00:46):
Actually I remember I was so upset. My mom was like,
oh my god, what is it that you want this year?
And then it was like the green machine was the
big thing, and I got a green machine and rests history.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Guy Christmas. How many times you actually write that.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Question? Probably a few, and then it broke.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
The worst is getting a green machine in winter and
it's not outside, you can't. I would ride in our
basement though, had we had a basement with like concrete
floors and stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Yeah, that's so fun.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Eight four to four Mojoe Live.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Grab Santa Sack for your share at five thousand dollars
or lions tickets.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Lo Joor in the Mornings, Dirty on the thirty.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Right, Channon with what's trending well.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
The night before Rob Roner, my goodness, gracious. Rob Reiner
excuse me, and his wife Michelle were found murdered in
their home. The family had attended a Christmas party hosted
by Conan O'Brien and there was some drama and you
may have heard part of the story already. So it
was Michelle, Rob and their thirty two year old son Nick,

(01:46):
And according to multiple people who were at Conan's party,
right off the bat, mixed behavior was really strange and erratic.
It made guests uncomfortable. People trying to steer clear of
him because of this behavior. And at one point he
went over to former SNL starring comedian Bill Hayter and

(02:07):
interrupted a conversation that Bill Hayter.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Was having with somebody.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
And Bill turned to Nick Reiner and said, Hey, we're
trying to talk and this conversation is private.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Nick got really upset.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
He stood still, didn't say anything, and then made this
big scene and loudly stormed out of the party, a
moment that really stood out to everybody who was there.
Earlier in the night, Nick had also gotten into a
loud argument with his dad, prompting Rob and Michelle Reiner
to leave the party together and leave Nick there, and

(02:42):
witnesses said their behavior had concerned guests and even their
own family members in the hours leading up to the
shocking murders. The next afternoon, Robin Michelle found dead in
their apront went home, and Nick was arrested and charged
with those murders.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
You want the ABC Nightly News, I.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Did tell you, I tell you to play that. I'm
sorry it now I repeated some of the stuff, but yeah, no.

Speaker 6 (03:04):
This is with the DA coming out with charges counting
to the attorney revealing Rob Reiner's son, Nick Reiner, will
face first three murder charges in the deaths of his parents,
Rob and Michelle Reiner. And for the first time tonight,
we're now seeing images showing police arresting Nick Reiner near
usc hours after the murders were first reported. Nick Reiner
accused of fatally stabbing his parents with a knife. He

(03:25):
is currently being held without bail. Sources telling ABC News
tonight the bodies of Rob and Michelle Reiner were discovered
by their daughter in their home in Brentwood, and we're
learning more tonight about the final hours leading up to
those horrific murders. Sources say Rob Reiner and his son
Nick got into an argument at a holiday party Saturday night,
where some say Nick Reiner was seen acting strangely. For years,

(03:46):
Nick Reiner has spoken openly about his battle with addiction,
in one interview, saying quote, I'm lucky I have parents
that care about me. ABC's Trevorol leading us off from
Los Angeles tonight.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Tonight for the first time, we're seeing them. Nick Reiner,
the son of star director Rob Reiner, was taken into
custody late Sunday, handcuffed, surrounded by LAPD and US Marshalls,
just hours after his parents were found stabbed to death.
Late today, the LA District Attorney announcing the charges two
counts of first degree murder.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
Rob Reiner was a brilliant actor and director, an iconic
force in our entertainment industry for decades. His wife, Michelle
Singer Reiner, was inequally iconic photographer and producer. Their loss
is beyond tragic, and we will commit ourselves to bringing

(04:43):
their murderer to justice.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
The DA says Nick Reiner stabbed his parents to death
with a knife. He's now awaiting medical clearance before his arraignment.
The thirty two year old has hired high profile criminal
defense attorney Alan Jackson, who most recently defended Karen Reid
as she was acquitted of. Every single inmate goes through
a medical clearance before they could be transported.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
For everyone of them, Okay, and that's a process.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
It's just a procedural issue.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
And he has not yet been medically taken.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
So we will be here hopefully tomorrow, and we're learning
more details about the hours leading up to those gruesome murders.
Sources say Saturday night, Rob Reiner and his son got
into an argument at Conan O'Brien.

Speaker 8 (05:20):
This is.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
The acting.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Strangely, the next afternoon, sources say, Reiner's daughter found her parents'
bodies inside their Brentwood home.

Speaker 9 (05:30):
This case is heartbreaking and deeply personal, not only for
the Reiner family and their loved ones, but for our
entire city.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
A former security guard tells ABC Nick Reiner had been
staying on the Reiner's property Nick has been open about
struggling with drug addictions since he was a teenager. In
a twenty eighteen podcast, he described how he once destroyed
his parents guest house while high on meth.

Speaker 8 (05:52):
I was up for days on end, and I started
punching out different things in my guest outs.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
I think I started with the.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
And then I went over to the lamp, and.

Speaker 8 (06:02):
Then progressively I just everything in the guest house got wrecked.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
They told me I had to.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Go a decade before the murders. When Nick and his
father were promoting their film Inspired by nick Struggles, he
said he was grateful for his parents' patience.

Speaker 8 (06:17):
But I think I'm lucky in the sense that I
have parents that care about me. And because of that,
when I would go out and do you know, things
like drugs and stuff like that, I'd feel a tremendous
and that of guilt.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
As the son of comedy legend Carl Reiner, Rob Reiner
said he understood the pressures his own son faced growing
up in a famous family.

Speaker 9 (06:39):
And so they don't know what he's gone through, they
don't know why he's done what he does, and then
you know, and it's pretty dumb, pretty ignorant of people
to say just because you're you know you're and you
have money, and that that doesn't mean anything.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
An overnight, former First Lady Michelle Obama revealing to Jimmy
Kimmel that she and the former president had plans to
see the Rhiner the night they were found dead.

Speaker 10 (07:02):
We've known them for many, many years, and we were
supposed to be seeing them that night last night, and
we got the.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
News after President Trump made the jarring claim that Rob
Reiner was killed because he was anti Trump. Michelle Obama
passionately defended her friend.

Speaker 10 (07:20):
Unlike some people, Rob and Michelle Reiner are some of
the most decent, courageous people you ever want to know.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
And tonight the Reiners are being remembered. Jane Fonda saying
I saw them night before last, looking healthy and happy.
I am reeling with grief. All in the family coastar
Sally Struther saying there are no words. This is beyond devastating,
and Jamie Lee Curtis saying our only focus and care
right now is for their children and immediate family.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Notch a sad, tragic story.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Really.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
All in other dirty today, the.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Weekend just closed a massive catalog deal worth around a
billion dollar Yes, you heard that right.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Billions any his music.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
Okay, but listen to this. So he did it with
an investor to be with this one called Lyric Capital Group.
He is not giving up any sort of creative control
over his music in the process. So rather than selling
off his life's work and just walking away, the Weekend
and his team structured this partnership so they retain ownership
and decision making power over the catalog and including both

(08:24):
publishing and master recordings. And people I know in the
industry say, this is the kind of deal that is
now most likely going to set a new standard for
how artists make money without losing creative.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Control over their work. So is it a billion dollars?

Speaker 2 (08:40):
It's what was the deal with the tailor's when she
sold her music?

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Lady?

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I don't know, like, what was that all that deal?
Because she was she sold her music to Scooter right.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Well, she didn't sell her music. Scooter bought it from
Scott Boar.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Shutta, okay, Ironda's in here. He adding her comments, tell
Na get out of there.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
And that was for like a couple hundred million dollars
and she lost a lot of her control at the.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Time she had no control, Yeah, but then brought it back.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Well, I'm happy for the weekend and maybe Taylor set
the president for what is to come. But you know,
I don't want to hear him come back later and
say they're using my music.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Well, it sounds like he has ownership everything.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Yeah, and commercials that shouldn't have them, like toilet commercials something.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Lastly, Morgan Wallen has officially become the highest selling country
artist in US history, and not by a little bit.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
With over two hundred and forty million certified units.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Sold, he now tops the all time list for country.
He sits third across all genres, behind only Drake and
speaking of Taylor Swift.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
So in the country music world that top five.

Speaker 5 (09:48):
Is Morgan Wallen, Luke Holm's, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, and
George Strait. But between one and two, so between Morgan
Wallan and Luke coolmbso it was like hundreds of millions.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
They need to give some money to us, need money
for our breaking entering Christmas Wish weekend.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
Morgan, whoever else, You're checked out at this point, aren't
