Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, we're gonna give away some jingle Ball tickets.
Your chance to go. December the ninth jingle Ball brought
to you by Capital One, starring Nelly and Shine Down
eight four four Mojo Live ninety fifth Collar eight four
four sixty six five six five four eight, Well.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Jordian Mornings, Dirty on the.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Thirty, Throwback, throw Down's coming up in thirty and right
now the Dirty on the thirty, What's up shannons Well.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Federal prosecutors say that members of four major New York
crime families teamed up in this high stakes illegal poker
ring involving several NBA stars, including former Detroit Piston Chauncey Billups,
using advanced cheating tech. Okay, and this tech included X
(00:45):
ray poker tables, so tables modified with LEDs or cameras
to read face down cards through the felt Google this
you can actually see it, because it's wild. They had
card trays with hidden cameras, decoy phones with card reading capabilities,
decks with infrared or barcode marking visible only with like
(01:08):
special glasses or contact lens like this is a thing.
These devices are apparently being sold online for hundreds of
thousands of dollars. Well, loss is to the victims in
this particular case totaled more than seven million dollars. There
was one individual who reportedly lost one point eight million
(01:29):
dollars in a single game. This is US attorney and
Joseph Nicola.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
The indictments in these cases contain only allegations, and the
defendants are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty in
a court of law. But my message to the defendants
who've been rounded up today is this, your winning streak
has ended. Your luck has run out. Violating the law
(01:54):
is a losing proposition, and you can bet on that.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
And then, I mean, obviously part of this lawsuit, if
you've been following, isn't just the illegal like hooker stuff
that was happening. It was also things like insider past
non public information to betters, like injuries and lineup changes.
When it came to NBA teams.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Get Terry Rosier pull themselves out of a game. Yeah,
that on his not having a good game.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Stuff Like, I mean, the guys from inside the NBA
we're talking about this least going.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
To get in on this there.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
Well, it's super unfortunate, you know, one, because we look
at players that are involved and the people that are involved.
You know, we're surprised because when you have access and
you at the top of your game, so to speak,
as a coaching, professional player or whatever, you at the
top of the game, you have access to millions and
millions of dollars in this league, So it was surprising
(02:49):
that they would be put themselves in that position. Possibly
it is, and then it's sent it to a proven guilty.
I think the other part is we have to realize
gambling is an addiction. So the addiction of it is
what makes you make illogical decisions.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
Clear something up for me, Chuck, I'm gonna clear it
up quickly. No, but I'm just I really just want this.
You say the league dropped the ball on the rosier
part of it, Yes, because they had already looked at
it and said we didn't have enough. But not on
the Chauncey. They didn't drop the ball on.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Two different things. Yeah, it's different things, Chauncey out the equation.
Speaker 7 (03:28):
And the reason I'm mad at Kenny is man, this
ain't got nothing to do with themn gambling addiction. This
ain't got none to do with addiction. These dudes are stupid?
Why are they stupid? You under no circumstances? Can you
fix basketball games? Under no circumstances? I love to gamble.
The notion like Rosia makes twenty six million.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Dollars him betting giving people information or are taking his
self out of games? How much is he gonna benefit
it take herself out the game to get unders like
he's making twenty six million dollars. The notion he gained?
Speaker 1 (04:07):
How much of.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
These guys he gave a hit up? He took himself
out of games on prop bits? How much money is
he gonna make?
Speaker 6 (04:15):
Well, if he did that, you're proving my point.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
What do you mean then that logical process?
Speaker 6 (04:22):
If you're making twenty six million dollars to try to win.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Fifty thousand, like, that's illogical.
Speaker 5 (04:28):
Yeah, that's terrible.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
I mean he says that when it comes to he
was making this much money, But like, greed is a
real thing, you know, sometimes even that much money twenty six.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Million dollars, he probably spent twenty seven million dollars and
he needed the money. And he was going to these
guys that that do this, that bust the integrity of
the game. To me, they should never be allowed ever
to play again. And then look at a guy like
Pete Rose, who they proved did not gamble on baseball
games or his own or did not gamble on his
own teams, but gamble d you know, baseball games. That
(05:03):
guy got banned for life from baseball and couldn't get
into the Hall of Fame. And these guys. I feel like,
and here's the problem too, When you got all these
betting apps that are out there paying the jillions of
dollars to the NBA, NFL, major League Baseball, you just
pretty much went to bed with the enemy. You went
to bed with the mafia, so to speak.
Speaker 8 (05:25):
So one thing I will say to bring it back local.
We talked a lot about Malik Beasley earlier in the year. Yes,
and Malik Beasley through all of this has been cleared
by the FBI, so we know that he wasn't involved
in this seven year long string that they've been trying
to find these players or these fish or whatever. Malik
(05:45):
has been cleared from the FBI, but the NBA is
still doing their own investigation. I feel like, as big
as it is right now, if he had anything to
do with anything, then he would be him an I've
been arrested Freda's man and let him play.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
You know what, they may not because of this. They
may not, I know, but they may say that he
still got you know, damage to his reputation.
Speaker 8 (06:08):
I feel like, what's the cash? But tail, yeah, wait
to mis looking. He let nobody give especially all right.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Two of Taylor Swift's besties, Kara Delvin and Ed Seeran,
are taking sides in her little feud with Charlie XCX
on the heels of Taylor seemingly dissing Charlie and her
new song actually Romantic, Kara and Ed cozied up for
a little group photo with Charlie at last weekend's very
fancy Academy Museum gala in La and then Kara posted
(06:39):
the photo of the three of them on her Instagram.
And remember I told you earlier in the week Ed Seeran,
there's a little rift there already between him and Taylor
because he wasn't so happy that she released the Life
of a Showgirl just three weeks after his own album
dropped and didn't tell him about it. And lastly, char
(07:00):
Sheen once played a very expensive prank on his wife
Denise Richards. That's trending this morning. I don't know why,
but just for spits and giggles, he wrote her a
check for a million dollars. Okay, I wrote a check
to Denise once for a million dollars on her birthday,
kind of as a joke, and she kept it not
(07:22):
as a joke.
Speaker 8 (07:24):
And then it's like a month later, cashed it, cast it.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Oh that's great.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
He thought he was funny. I'm gonna give her a
million dollars for birthday. She cashed it.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Why not?
Speaker 3 (07:36):
If you've missed anything from today so from this week's shows,

most excited to see?
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Shine down?
Speaker 1 (08:01):
I love it? You know what I'm excited to see
shine down. I actually started listening to more shinedown music.
It's kind of like when jelly Roll came. I didn't
know much jelly roll except for the one song that
jelly Roll had that was on the radio, and then
I started listening to more and I'm like, I think
I'm gonna like this more than even Usher, you know.
Congratulations to you on winning these tickets. More tickets are
