Speaker 1 (00:01):
In the mornings, Dirty on the thirty.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
What's trending this hour? Shance?
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Okay, so everybody's talking about Wicked for Good, this sequel
to the first movie, and no surprise, dominated the weekend
box office with a record breaking one hundred and fifty
million dollar US debut, one of the biggest openings of
the year. It actually surpassed the original Wicked movie that
brought in about one hundred and twelve milim so Wicked
(00:28):
for Good to set a new record. It is the
biggest opening ever for a film based on a Broadway show,
and it also snagged the second biggest opening of the weekend,
biggest opening weekend of the year excuse me in North America.
So it fell a little bit below a Minecraft movie,
it was still above Lee, Lo and Stitch, so right there,
sitting at number two for twenty twenty five so far.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
How crowded was the movie that you went to last night?
Sunday nights? Do you'd think it would be lighter?
Speaker 3 (00:54):
It wasn't sold It wasn't a sold out show, but
it was it was pretty full.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
So I bought ticket It's weeks ago for the Friday
after Thanksgiving and there were only like five seats available
in the whole place.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
It's it's emotional Kleenex.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Is it yeah? Is it as good as the first one?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
I don't think it's as good as the first one,
But that being said, I still love loved it. But
I mean it's it's so fun. I'll see it again
this week, for sure, I'll go see it a second time.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
We love that.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
The day after Thanksgiving you all go to the movies
together and I fall asleep.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
The entire time.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
No, it's good, Okay. While performing on his world tour
last year, it was built as his final run under
the childish Gambino name don'd Glover said he experienced a
pretty serious health emergency. Was doing a show in I
believe it was Louisiana. Had a severe headache, blurry vision,
kept performing anyway, very clearly something was wrong. Moved to
(01:53):
the next tour stop in Houston, where he finally went
to the hospital and learned this news from doctors.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
So when we went to Houston, I went to the
hospital and the doctor was like, you had a stroke.
And the first thing I thought was like, oh, like here,
I am still copying Jamie Fox.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
By the way, the stroke wasn't the only thing he
was suffering from. He also found out he had a
hole in his heart and a broken foot.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
For people having.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Strokes these days cause stress or like what causes a stroke.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
There's a lot of conspiracy. Theretists have their thoughts on it,
but right.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Have forty A lot of people see a lot of
people think it's the vaccine, that COVID vaccine. But I
will tell you that Donald Glover is one of those
guys where I bet you his child his genetics could
play a part in that, Like a lot of people didn't.
I didn't realize that I had genetics in my family
for the heart stuff.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah, yeah, okay, So we were just talking about the
sham Wow guy and randomly he's in the dirty the
dude who who is the sham Wow guy? His name
is Vince Offer. He's now sixty one years old. He's
running for Congress. He's running in the Republican primary in
Texas's thirty one district. He's running against a guy who
(03:19):
served in office since two thousand and three, so it's
no small fee. But he also did slap chop. I
didn't realize it was the same guy. Sham Wow slap Chop.
Both vance. He also did the Shticky lint Ruler, a
liquid cleaner called Invincible, and then another kitchen. We say
every time it's like a shammy.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
It's like a towel. It's like a sponge. A regular
towel doesn't work. Wet, this works wet or draw. This
is for the house.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Here's the thing. He's got a little bit of a record.
You remember the scandal with him. He was arrested in
two thousand and nine for beating up a prostitute who
tried to bite out his tongue. Now he's running, he's
running for count.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
It's always good stuff. You can cut it in how
he's one of the bath man train trying to bite
out his tongue. Why are you kissing?
Speaker 3 (04:05):
A procey to set the.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Record street but he knows you don't kiss.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Get out oxy cleans. Billy Mays did die of a
heart issue, but the toxicology found cocaine in his system.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
So we were both right.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
If if you have name recognition, you a lot of
times will win elections. Will the sham will guy have
enough name recognition?
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Well, like I said, he's running up against a guy
who's served in office since the early two thousands.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
He's got to use cleaning up the streets. Cleaning up
ourselves got part of that for sure.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
And shout out to our Detroit Lions taking a w
last night in overtime coach Dan Campbell after the game,
you don't you don't.
Speaker 5 (04:46):
Know exactly how the game's gonna go. And you guys
just kept slatting him back, man, buying your tongue, and
we made the stopped to lunch. Great job that our
office banks all that. We'll get you anert a minute.
But I'm telling you, man, you don't know how to
ride it.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
You don't know what's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
You just find a way to wear Dan. To find
a way to wear Dan, I think has to give
up the calling the plays though, and go back to
where we were.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
I think we there's got to be somebody on this
team that can call plays or bring in somebody. You know,
does Ben Johnson have like a little brother or somebody, Yeah, like,
bring bring in somebody that can call the plays. My
fear of him doing it is I feel like the
end of the first half he lost a little bit
of the game feel and what to do and calling
(05:31):
a time out instead of you know, trying to get
up to the line and down the ball.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
I just I don't know.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
It just doesn't seem right to me, and I feel
like against really good teams it's going to be tough
for him to.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
What's your prediction for Thursday against Green Bay?
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Well, I think green Bay is not as good as
we made them out to be in the first game
of the year, so I think that coming here it's
going to be a tough place for them to win.
My fear, though, is we still have a tough schedule,
so I feel like we have to win out because
I mean, I think the will eventually become the Bears
and they'll start losing games. But the problem is, you know,
(06:05):
not everybody makes the playoffs. I thought this was a
definite playoff bound team and we were gonna win the
Super Bowl. But now you look at it, there's a
chance that games like that loss against well, the loss
against the Rams are the best team in the football
and Matthew Stafford is by far into.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
The m VP of football.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
But the Chiefs loss and the referees doing what they
did in that game and then the Eagles loss could
be something that we look back on later. The season
and go crap man, now we're sitting home.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Or if you miss anything from today's show, you can
always make and catch up on the podcast on the
free I heard r ip Killer.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
I'm doing it for you.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Although Killer, whenever I talked football with him, he would
come in here and he looked at me.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
He goes, did you ever play football? Like celebrity in
the morning's Dirty? I would offset it with.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Questions about name all the backstreet boys, and he would
he had no clue about those guys.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
What's up? Alissa?
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Hi?
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Hi?
Speaker 2 (07:06):
How are you good? Alyssa? You're going to jingle Ball?
Congratulations too? You got tickets?
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yeah, I'm so excited.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Where are you from?
Speaker 3 (07:15):
I'm from Rochester.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Are you going to the lighting of the entire town?
Speaker 3 (07:21):
I might and I I haven't decided, so I need
to make my decision soon.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
If you do, can you spy on Bianca for us? Yes?
Speaker 3 (07:29):
I can do that.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Hey, quick question.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
When they do that where they offflicially officially flip the
switch and the entire town lights up? Does your power
damn at home? Like with all those lights going on?
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Surge?
Speaker 3 (07:44):
No, I don't live Luckily, I don't live that far
from there.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
So, but no, it doesn't. It is really beautiful for
those that don't know.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Oh yes, Rochester is a town that's you know, probably
what forty minutes from downtown Detroit, and they light up
the whole the whole down town area and it just
is absolutely gorgeous.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Every store is a different color all the way down
the main store.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
And it's honestly one of the coolest parts of our
community here in the Metro Detroit area. And I know
a lot of towns have that, So shout out to
all those towns. All right, hang on one second, we'll
get you set up with your tickets.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Thank you, have a good day. Thank
