Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mojo in the morning show phone number eight four Tour
Joe Live A four four six six five six five
four eight text nine five five zero zero. So I
have to ask you guys this question about people. See
if anybody can relate to this is there And I
call this drunk accent syndrome. Okay, drunk accent syndrome. If

(00:24):
you are out with somebody or maybe you're that somebody
in your drinking, have you ever noticed that people automatically
when they start drinking and getting a little bit too
much alcohol in them, they suddenly start talking or acting differently.
And the big one that I want to focus on
is people that end up getting an accent when they're drunk.

(00:49):
This actually happened over the weekend when we went out
with a group of people and there was one particular
guy that and I'm not going to say his name
because I don't want to call him out this, but
every time that he gets drunk, he all of a
sudden goes from a guy from Michigan to a guy
that should be like in freaking Alabama. Like he he

(01:12):
goes from sounding like me to sounding like THEO Vaughn
when he's drinking. And I want to know if there
are any listeners that have ever experienced this themselves or
with somebody else where. They when they drink too much
or they have a little bit of alcohol, they all
of a sudden start talking a little differently. And I

(01:33):
know that I do. Like when I'm drunk, I go, hey,
that was going on, Like it becomes kind of like,
all of a sudden, I turn into R and B
Mojo you know what I mean. Gets Oh yeah, you
know what I mean, like one of one of those
type of situations where I'm like changing exactly the way.
Oh yeah, not that deep, but I all of a sudden,

(01:57):
like you know, it turns into like a mo Joe
to Gerald Leaverte or something something like that.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
See mine, I don't know if mine happens when I'm drinking.
I know for a fact, if I go to the movies,
when I lead the movies, I'll start acting like the
main character, like I absorb like that type of personality.
But I feel like when I'm drinking, I feel like
I turn into It happened one time I was in
New York. That's the only time I can remember it happening,
where I like, all of a sudden, I start talking

(02:23):
like I was from New York, And I honestly think.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
With this particular guy with Kevin, Kevin, when he drinks,
like I sense that he doesn't necessarily have a michiganed
or accent, you know what I mean, Like he doesn't
say Fords and things like that, he doesn't talk like that,
but all of a sudden he drinks a little bit
and it's like, Hey, what's going on, Tom.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Like he's like, all of a sudden, it's like or
something like that. Is it certain alcohol? Because certain alcohols
bring out different person anything, beer, booze, whatever it is.
It can be anything. Yeah, I mean, what's yours? Henny
d is a real thing? Really, Henny D? Well, that's
something different, That's yeah, That's what I mean. I feel

(03:06):
like some people can't. Some people don't drink dark liquor
because it makes them angry. Some people think the lighter
drinker that they have, the more party party vibe they
start to feel.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Well. Some people just stay away. No, I think that people.
But I think definitely the stronger the alcohol probably the
more they're aggressiveness changes. But I don't necessary this is
that's off topic. I'm talking about people's accents changing. I
want to focus on the accents. Budd Hey, Seana, what's happening?

(03:35):
How you doing? I'm not drinking right now, but oh
my gosh, wait a second. You get a Spanish accent
when you drink.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
I grew up in West Florida, so when I get drunk, my.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Spanish is on you if you actually speak Spanish or
just with an accent.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
No, I can't really speak Spanish, like I mean, I
could speak some Spanish, but like, my Spanish is way
better when I'm drunk. Everyone says this, really.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Really, so what are you drinking? Are you drinking tequila?
Just to keep the whole mood together? Wow, that is
kind of funny. All of a sudden, you go south
of the border once you have a little beverages Sydney.
What's going on? Is mojo in the morning? How you doing?

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Well, how are you guys today?

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Good? We're talking about drunk accent syndrome.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Okay, so my man, mind you we're from the Bloomfield,
Birmingham area.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
When he is drunk, he starts talking and acting like Tucac.
He'll do the hand Man sandarism.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Yeah really not just he becomes a whole person.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
No, literally literally perms into like he was Tupac for
a Halloween a few years ago, and he looked just
like him. I should come down up shirts.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Oh my god? What can I ask a question?

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Like?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
What what race are you? Guys? What are you guys?

Speaker 3 (05:00):
I'm white? But he's black and Italian?

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Okay, so he's black Italian and he turns into Tupac
when he has a little bit too much. Ye I
like it. You got to send us his halloween costume.
I want to see what it looks like. Hold On
is saying, is this audio I with us right now?
A d io? Yeah? What up? Does audio? Audio? What's
going on? We're talking about when you drink, you all

(05:23):
of a sudden get an accent.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Man.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
I have a friend that when they get drunk, they
have a sick Jamaican accent.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah. It just he's just drinking, like what wama?

Speaker 1 (05:40):
I love it. I think that's great. Does it? By
the way, the ladies love it too. They probably go
crazy when that happens. Hey, man, if he hit him
with the yoama So pretty, guys doing good enough there?
Fall for it. That's awesome. All right, we'll shout out
to our Jamaican friend. What's going on, Stephanie. I like
this one. This is a different accent. What did your
friend get?

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah, every time we go out and drink, she gets
a British accent.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Like Britney spears.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
She'll be like, oh, darling, I'm not good at it.
I don't do a British accent. But she is so
funny and I love it.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
I love it. That is so great. That's Stephanie. I
love it. By the way, we got to get Stephanie's
friend and Audio's friend and have the brit and the
Jamaican hanging out with you.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Remember we had an intern on this show who dated
a guy that when she met him, had an Australian accent.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yes, and he never had the accent.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
But I think he was well, he was because they
met out and then he had to like he kept
up for a little while and then finally had to
come clean that he did not have an Australian accent.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Attractive, So he was Yeah, sure, Jeanette, Hi, what happens
to your dad when he drinks?

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Okay, so my dad's Mexican, right, He's born in Mexico.
But when he drinks, he speaks English. And the funny
part is is when he goes to Mexico, he forgets
right and so he's trying to speak English and Mexico
and they're like, we don't know what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
By the way, that is the fantastic that the guy
loses his Spanish accent when he goes in and drinks.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
Yeah, he loses his accent and he speaks English.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Shout out to shout out to Janette's dad. What's going on, lindsay, Hi, Hi,
what's up?

Speaker 3 (07:30):
So when I'm drinking, my black saying comes out.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Let me hear it?

Speaker 4 (07:37):
So because I mixed.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
My dad is black, but he talks very proper. But
I will start getting so God will get ghetto real quick.
My friends told me all the time, Linda down, you're
getting ghetto.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
And it only happens when you're drinking. That's it. What
are you drinking? By the way, Yeah, tequila all day?
Oh okay, I love By the way. My favorite is
my favorite is that she used the term yeah Elizabeth,

(08:10):
are you there?

Speaker 5 (08:12):
I am?

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Good morning, Good morning to you. I love it, Elizabeth.
When you get drunk, what do you turn into? Me
and my best friend have a reputation of turning into
Russian assassins, and.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
I don't know how we do it.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
We get these Russian accents and our men are scared
of us.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
You gotta give us a taste.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Let me.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
I can try my best.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
We are going to kill you.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
I get turned out women with a Russian accent, Oh
my gosh. Oh for summer. Yeah, you gotta get drunk
women with a Russian accent, or women with a like
a Spanish accent.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Oh. So you give me a lot of Sophia, yes,
or Drago's wife.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
You know you want a little Slavenah. I love it.
All right, Elizabeth, thank you for the call. I appreciate it.
Thank you. Have a good day. Take care all right,
Mojo in the morning. I cannot stop thinking about Kev's
o dog. She was a mixed She was a I
think she was German shepherd and white waller. Well you
name her Sheba, you know, I know, but I'm saying

(09:31):
she was born to be a hoe. If she's named
she why do you say that? Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
I just think shea could be. You know, we had
another one, black lamb. His name was Sting Soldier goldberg Win.
He was black and white. Yeah, I remember Steing the wrestler. Yes,
he had the white face, used to wear all black.
I think that's where it came from. Soldier.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Goldberg was my other favorite restaurant at the time. How
do you take that entire name on a collar on
a dog?

Speaker 1 (10:00):
A look, did you get in trouble by the the
animal control for not having a collar on your dog? No,
everybody will.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Have collars on their dog. Cute little names. He had
a blue leash that we got from Humane Society. Leashed
him up, let him run around in the backyard.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
He was good. I'm calling animal Control and sting Soldier
Goldberg or I used to do hold on a second,
hold on real quick, Mike, there my glass, call on
this one in the accents? What's going on? Yeah? Hi? Hi.
When my wife gets drunk, she gets a Boston Bronx
accent going yeah and on. On special occasions she gets

(10:37):
a real Asian sounded. Where does this come from? Is
it random? Or is that where she's from random? She's not.
She's been in the New York once when she was
in elementary school for like a class trip. Never been back. Yeah,
I have no idea where it comes from. Yeah, do
you get turned on? Does it turn you on? Like
the either of the Bronx Boston when it's not directed

(10:59):
at me? If she's mad, you know what I mean,
then get the Bronx single on that. That's knock on.
Which one turns? You want more? Though? The Asian or
the other one? The Bronx. The Asian one just seems
kind of weird. It seems too fourth. Yeah, all right,
we gotta go out and party with all these people.

(11:20):
