me what the heck happened, because it.

May not be door dash's fault, though it may be
the proximity of where you live though from you telling
this story.

Go ahead, tell the story.

Speaker 5 (00:58):
Let's let the listeners decide. Oh, yesterday I was door dashing.
As much as I wish I was a cook, I'm not.
I door dash almost every day. So I doordashed myself
some dinner, and I was cleaning my apartment waiting for
the dasher to arrive and deliver my food. I happened
to be vacuuming as the delivery driver was arriving. So

when I finished vacuuming and went to check on the delivery,
I saw had miss calls from the dasher, and I
instantly was like, oh, they're here. So I unlocked my
door because I can do it from my phone and
figured that they dropped it off. I went down a
couple minutes later to get it, and we have a
reception desk. However, my food is sitting right next to
the door, tipped over.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
The bag's open.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
I'm like, oh, that's a little weird that they couldn't,
you know, bring it inside. Anyways, take the food up,
eat it. Thought it was a little weird. Woke up
this morning, went on door dash because I'm thinking about
ordering some Starbucks and I see a review and it
says the girl lives in a terrible location. She wouldn't
answer her phone for at least five minutes. I'm not

walking her delivery to her door. She can come downstairs
and get it. So now I'm in my head like, one,
that was a mean thing to say, yes for an
honest mistake, And two my bag was opened.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
What if they did something to my food? I'm feeling
a little sick.

Speaker 6 (02:17):
Also, why wouldn't you leave it with the at the desk?
I know you can see that right there.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
We didn't have someone sitting at the reception desk.

They probably weren't like handing it off, but like they
could have easily taken a few more steps and set
it down.

What do you have it clicked ass on your I mean,
what do you have your delivery clicked as you can
click it as me? Or leave a door? Which one
do you have?

Mine says leave at door, but then in the instructions
it says like I'll buzz you up.

What it's either leave at door or it's I'll bring
it up. And here's the thing. I think that in
a place like yours, and I'm I'm gonna be honest
with you, I would not DoorDash to an apartment complex
or an apartment building, because if I'm door dashing, I'm
going out to the suburbs where people live in homes
where I can put it right on a doorstep. And

door dashers speak out on this one. I cannot believe
when I go to Joe's apartment to go get to
hang out, he's got a door dash guy that has
to climb a frickin wall, it looks like to get
to his place because there's security that you know, they
have a security thing, And I'm thinking myself that it's
not worth the four dollars or however much money that

those guys get.

No one else has ever had an issue, None of
the other dah dashers have had an issue. And they
leave it at my apartment door, not the front door.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
They always call you though, or is it that.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Yeah, because I have to buzz them in.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Okay, so they're always but but they never have, you know, no,
we never.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
I mean it was five minutes, an honest mistake.

No, I get it, I get it.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
So but I do also think though that if it's
a pain in the ass to DoorDash to you, like,
is it really worth it? Like would you want to like,
would you want a door dash to somebody that lives
in a gated community? Doors? Right? Because everyone lives in apartments.

That's true.

I think that's probably a good bulk of business everywhere
apartment buildings.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Well, I'm going to say this to you. The doordashers
that we get here at the radio station, I think
have no they're the worst. They hate us.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
The Starbucks I'm serious. The Starbucks is always spilled in
the bag all over all the food nine times out
of ten.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Well, Starbucks is a bad door Dash unless you order
the two of the same, Like you can't order one
drink and then one thing because they put it in
a cup holder and it tips over every time. So
what do you do in this situation?

Speaker 5 (04:33):
I went on there and changed my name because I
was like, I don't want them.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
To know who I am. They're so mad at me.

Speaker 7 (04:39):
I use a fake name.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Now I do have a fake name. Does it That
wouldn't be the same account. Can't they see the same account,
isn't it?

But I just don't want them to know it's Anna

It was the awful person. Oh okay, so you just
have what like, do do we get door dash scores
like you get Uber scores like Uber Radio and RADI yeah,
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
Like I it was even shocked to know that they
could leave a note on my account. I've never seen
that before. Yeah, we're not happy.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
What's your what's your your Uber score? What's your Uber
Stars score?

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Uh? I don't think it's that great. So there was
one point in time where I would Uber eats food
to the wrong location every time. I was drunk and
I just have a bad rating because of that.

Oh, I'm a four point ninety four.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
I brought it down four point ninety six.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
I'm a four point nine. Oh, I want to know
why I'm not a five?

See that it's right up, Aunt, I do lyft. Yeah,
they they have it like four point nine. Your four

As a as a door dash driver or Uber eats driver,
whichever one you want to talk about, apartment complexes and.

Can be pain in the butt.

Like in Toledo, for instance, we have these weirdar complexes
and none of them have outside numbers on the outside
of the building. Yeah, and everywhere because it's got a
wide GPS area shows that you're there. Most people you're
supposed to call, like I always do, because like, if
I want people deliver in my food nicely, I'm going
to deliver their.

Crap nicely too.

Yeah.

Yeah, but that's just me. Some people just don't care
if you What do.

If you can't get into the building, Like if you're
waiting out in front, do you have a time?

I know, but what if you calling nobody answers? Do
you have a time limit?

Oh yeah, there is a time limit if you're if
you're trying to deliver it and you can't get a
hold of the customer to deliver it. There's a thing
on the apps that says cannot get a hold of
the customer and it sets a timer. And door Dash
will also try to get a hold of them as well,
and then if nobody can get a hold of them,
it generally, unless it requires an ID, it generally.

Will just get left at the door.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Okay, yeah, a picture and a note and the IDs
are usually just for alcohol, right, alcohol, and that is
that's you, God bless you? Yeah, I yeah, I would
see that. That would be kind of kind of annoying.
My son Luke doordashed for a day. He did literally
one day and it was exactly anna situation. He had

to DoorDash and it was not the greatest neighborhood and
it was an apartment building that he was locked out
in front, and he said that he was out there
for such a long time waiting to deliver a Greek
salad to a lady and he said guys were offering
them drug deals because he's like, I'm not doing this anymore.

The issue wasn't the apartment though, it was just the
time that it took Fanna to get downstairs. If all
things considered, Anna was you know, ready looking at her
phone and came down immediately, things would have worked out perfectly.

Yeah, so I was trying to DoorDash to Grand Alley State,
which is in like Grand Rapid Dale and Dale area.

Absolutely, and I literally had never been there.

And apparently you drive on the sidewalks to get to
the dorms, and so that delivery took so long I
will never go there again.

By the way, to drive on the sidewalks doesn't seem
like it's a legal process, Like could you imagine delivery?
Can you imagine delivering on a college campus and you
have to park your car illegally, probably with the hazards on,
and you have to walk like the kids do to
go to college cloudows Yeah.

Uh uh. I don't want to do that, especially when
it's called nope.

And I don't know how much money the door dashers get,
but at that point right there, you better be tipping extra,
and if you're a college kid, you're not.

fifty to an hour, so I thought I had a

went into apartments and I have been so lost and
confused to the point where I had to quit door
dashing because ninety percent of it was an apartment and
you can deny certain locations, but like, you don't.

Know it's apartments until you actually, like get on the
exact location, Like you don't know until you're like into
that area, and it's like, oh, it's an apartment, so
you kind of like don't know until you actually get there.

I feel bad, Like I don't like it's hard to
not like leave someone's food and not have anybody get
their food.

apartment is, I'm going to sit in the lobby wait
for people just to leave their door dashes on the

Oh yeah, Like I remember back in the day when
DoorDash wasn't around, it was like pizza deliveries. Somebody would
walk in and they'd be like, hey, you know and
delivering a pizza.

what I mean.

I always think about that with Starbucks mobile orders or
like yesterday I went to Chick fil A at the
mall and picked up a mobile order, and I'm like,
how do they know it's you?

You could just grab anybody's stuff.

I think people do. I think people do just go
up there and just grab stuff. It's just kind of
you know, I'm not gonna lie. I was that person
in college.

that are moving to London because country music has become

so hugely popular now in Europe and so all these
artists now, these country artists, and they showed Darius Rucker
moving there because they're recording and they're performing and they're
making a ton of money because of how big country
music is worldwide, but especially in Europe. It wasn't always
a huge thing for country artists to go over to

Europe and perform, and now it's become.

Like a big deal. I guess for them to be there.

Cardi B is sparking engagement rumors this morning while proudly

photo of her holding the baby in her arms as

have officially settled their custody battle over their three year

Oscar winning actor Kevin Spacey says he is homeless, living
out of hotels and airbnb's because his finances have just
fallen apart. He said he's literally got no home. That's
been the case for years now. He's had very little

his troubles come after a wave of sexual misconduct allegations
beginning in twenty seventeen that really derailed his career. And
even though he was acquitted in a trial in the
UK in twenty twenty three, he said he still faces
massive legal costs and can't pay his bills. So he
lost his home, has all his stuff in storage, hotels, airbnbs,

and is chasing whatever work he can get.

And he was follow not guilty, right, correct? What a shame?

I don't know necessarily in all the cases if it

and I drove by a school by my house that
was doing pick up. And you know how pickup is
usually at every school where there's a bajillion cars. I
said this yesterday and somebody said to me, They're like,
what are you talking about? People take bus? I feel
like no kids take buses anymore, because anytime you go

to any school, at the end of the day or
even the beginning of the day, it's all parents drop
in their kids.

A lot of districts got rid of the buses because
they just didn't have drivers or there were a lot
of issues.

Well, I wish they'd bring them back because it just
causes for a guy that doesn't have kids in that
school to be pissed off at what's going on. Well,
they had all these cars lined up, and I'm waiting to,
you know, kind of get through the traffic light, and
I noticed one of the cars in the school parking
lot was surrounded by two police officers with the lights flashing,

and they were standing out and they were talking to
It looked like a guy and a girl that were
sitting there in the pickup lane or line waiting for
the kids to kind of all come out. And all
it got me thinking to myself was, oh my god,
if this is a parent picking their kid up, their
kids going to get the first you know, eyes of
their parents getting arrested.

I don't like that that's the wrong place to do it,
but I guess if you're looking for someone, you know
where they're going to be at and when they're going

But it's one of those things. Once one head turns
and then tit heads turn You're like, okay, well what's

and went from five people on holds about fifty people.

I I was going through chemo at the time, I

Like I was judging these other kids, I have no
idea who they are. I would say he's not the

He went from being this little like I felt like
a little kid who is just like so cute and

And then you know your child, so you know their tendencies,

bit nervous or he's not confident in this particular dance move,
so you know that type of stuff. But he delivered
all his lines well. I thought the inflection was great.
But when he came off the stage, that was his question.
Immediately he asked his mom.

He was like, how did I do? And his mom said,
oh my god, you did a great job.

And Joe's like, no, give me the bad And then
that's when I step in because I have what I'm saying,
I have critiques. You want to know what you did wrong,
I'm gonna tell you. So I started, and he didn't
do a lot of things incorrect. But one of the
things that I pay attention to, and if you're a
theater person, they call it blocking. It's your staging where
you are on the stage, And like one of the

golden rules is never turn your back to the audience.
Cheat out, cheat out, cheat out, give yourself a little
a little stand so you can like halfway look at
your character you're referring to at the time, and then
the audience can see your physiology and all the things. Now,
this particular scene, I don't know how he actually could
have cheated out, but his whole back was to us,
and that was gonna be my critique. But as I'm

(01:29:12):
critiquing him, I start to see his posture kind of
start to slump, and I could kind of see me
giving him a critique is kind of being met with
sadness almost like he's not like engaged, like okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:29:26):
He's kind of taking it to heart. And in that moment,
I quickly pivot and I'm like, man, but you did so.
Then I went to the things you did great.

Speaker 19 (01:29:33):
I'm like, man, when you deliver this one line, it
was incredible, Like how excited you got. The crowd was laughing,
Like I tried to pivot, and I'm like, man, like
how do parents give their children critiques? And then also
like how do those critiques change your child? Because I
know for a fact like sometimes parents can be so
involved that it can strip your child of enjoying the
activity and they never want to do it again.

Yeah, you struck the spirit right out of them.

By the way he was tom Izzo, man, he was
yelling at it in the lock. Can I tell you
a piece of advice from coaching that I got from
Tim McCormick, tim NBA player, a great guy. Tim McCormick
told me that after the event that you go to
like so after the game, he said, never talked about

the game or talk about the event afterwards. And I
know Josiah asked you for advice, he said, he would say,
don't even if you have a critique or criticism, don't
talk about it right after the game, because after the
game is the last time in the world that they
should know about what they did and did wrong. The
next day you when you're doing it, and only because
what happens is they just got done with this high

of playing the game or low if they lost. And
he would say that the comment that you're going to
make to them is only going to make them feel worse,
not better. So he would always say so. He would
