to come down here. I actually was picking up our
remaining breaking in uding Christmas wish gifts so I can
bring them down here to Lydia, and I walked out
of the business that was nice enough to donate to us.

and I was getting ready to head down Telegraph to
go to the Lodge, and I said to myself, I
have been on the Lodge Freeway ten times and four days.
I'm not going on it again because our holiday party
last night. By the way, question for you, did any
of you guys go to the holiday party? I did,
and I drove down to Toledo, im back to make
it back untime.

How long was your drive?

My drive is an hour? You may day. It took
me an hour and ten minutes to get to work yesterday.
My drive would have been driving down the Lodge Freeway
would have taken it from where I was because I
was in way out in water Furdish. It would have
taken me at least fifty five minutes to an that's
an hour. It's closer to an hour than a half hour.

Would have done was come to a Christmas party at
our radio station.

had a live band, the guys that performed at the
Londen Chop House. They sang and played. They assaw if
it was family atmosphere.

Because I looked at an empty building yesterday there was
not one person here, and I thought to myself, we
came in the day after jingle Ball. Then I looked
at this empty building, going, oh, I get it. They

gave everybody the day off so they could come to
the Christmas party except for us, except for the on
air staffs of all the radio stations.

It was the roads. They said, work from home today,

don't get the state of purses everybody else.

I feel like we should get because they got a date,

I have to point out. I talked to all the
other people that are friends of mine who are doing
their holiday parties, and a bunch of them are doing
them tonight. And I was one guy. They rented out
the entire back room of one of the nicest restaurants
here in town, literally closed the place down, and they're

going there and everybody is going there and getting picked
up in metro car services. The entire staffs. Now they
have a staff of like sixty people, so that's still
a pretty good staff. We talked last week about you,
uh was it what'shbs place called u w M. They
had like They're off the charts party where they had

like pitbull at it a friend another friend of mine.
They decided that what they were going to do instead
of doing a holiday party here after the first of
the year, they're taking their entire staff on a vacation
to Florida for a long weekend. I'm like going, man,
times supposedly are tough right a year, I couldn't even
drive down the lodge.

explain that to me. But to be fair from anybody

come up on a few snowy days and I said

real at all. Yesterday, yesterday, I literally when I was
driving to the studios, I said to myself, and I

their car to go to work and said I'm not
going in and turned around and went away. I've never
done that before.

like I have now, a very very short drive.

This is yesterday morning. And then after ten am that stopped.

I was the biggest person during COVID that said we
should all be still coming to work. You know, it
means so much, and we did. We never did not.
Now I'm going to be the opposite. We all should
have stayed home. We all should have stayed home. Now
that I got to do an hour drive every single
day coming in and hanging out with you guys, tell me.

Because I already had previous plans that I had canceled
several times. I was not canceling on these people again.

You know what's funny is with us, I think we're
the test of the roads. They see then they hear

the team will have their first full like in person practice,

Nick injured his neck in a hunting accident. He fell
from his hunting blind and was on the ground for
hours before.

duty was to give Jack his baths and get him
ready for bed every single night, pick him up.

it takes place those cops, is it that the sense
that you are drunk or they smell that you possibly

the day, like you just said, people are coming home
from holiday parties. They know they're out there looking for
that person who's just doing one thing wrong. They might
pull you over for speeding. They might pull you over
for going over the line they say, or swerving or

just going to ask you have you had anything to drink?

Ninety nine percent of everybody just says, yeah, I only
had a couple of drinks, had a drink a couple
hours ago. As soon as they do that, they just
admit it to drinking and.

Driving without even realizing they admitted to it.

Wow, So even just being done so Nick, If so,
if you are somebody that gets pulled over and you
may have had a drink earlier in the evening, what
you should not say something like that. You shouldn't say, yeah,

Of course, once you do your admitting, you're admitting that
you drink, and you're giving them probable cause to pull
you out of the vehicle, do sobriety tests on you.
So no, you shouldn't admit to it.

Once you say you haven't, and then they do the
tests and they do the blood alcohol whatever, then can
you get your replying to a cop?

have the right to not incriminate yourself, so you know,
you don't have to You have the right to be
silent that whole time. You could just crack your window

the test, like if they say to you, hey, come
on to the car or step out of the car.
Are they're asking you to do like a roadside sobriety test?
What should you do in a case like.

That, Well, you could take the test or you could
refuse the test. If you refuse the test on the
on the scene, it's just a civil infraction.

But if they do take you to jail.

And you end up refusing that second test that they do.
Then at that point they can suspend your license for
up to a year. Wow, you got to be careful
with doing what you know with doing that. But if
you're on the scene, if you're if you're if you're
on the site, the PBT test that they do on
the road, that's the civil infraction if you refuse it.
It's the second test that they do after they have

the probable cousin they actually arrest you. If you were
to refuse that second test, it's considered a refusal. You
can lose your license for a year. We appeal those
all the time for people though, and we have fourteen
days to appeal it. So if someone did do that,
they have fourteen days or they're going to lose their
license for a year.

No, there's so much that people don't know. That's the thing.
That's why if you try to go in on this

dollars to do and they don't really give their clients
the time that's needed to really explain this stuff to them.

back to the police station, they do a test on

leave you there for to sober up. So there is
a time that they'll have to leave you there at
least twelve hours to try to sober up so that

you know, you'll receive a court date in the mail,

to court the next dain, have you arraigned in front

him out of the car while he's having a sea
do they check his pocket, like, oh, he has a eight?
He's high because he had the eight. So we actually
took the trial and we won the case because the prosecutor,

My name is Sue, and I'm writing to tell you
the story of the cot family. Nick is a warn
police officer, Holly is a third grade Waterford school teacher,
and their son, Jack is a second grader at Cooley Elementary.
On November seventeenth, Nick injured his neck in a hunting accident.
He fell from his hunting blind and was on the

ground for hours before his family found him in seconds.
His entire life changed. He is now paralyzed from the
neck down. Nick has been on a ventilator full time,
and just this past weekend was able to begin taking
small breaths with the aid of a trake ventilator. Nick

has a long, long road ahead of him, but these
small improvements are big steps in Nick's recovery. Mojo, your
team and our community can help the cut family this
holiday season by making sure they have a proper Christmas

at u of M Hospital. Jack's world has been turned

meal with his dad would mean the world to him

We've got him iPads to help him in his recovery.

A new TV for the for the room. We got
tons of door dash gift cards so that you guys
can have meals sent to your house. But one of
the biggest things that we're going to do is something
that we think will be the best thing for Nick
and for Jack, because we understand that one of the
things that Nick loved to do when he was off
duty was to give Jack his baths and get him
ready for bed every.

Single night, pick him up the stairs every night. So
we're going to help you out with that.

And this is a huge shout out to Tommy and
everybody over at the Creative Mobility Group who have helped
us out with breaking and entering year after year. But
they are going to be installing a stair lift in
your home, okay, so you don't have to worry about
Nick getting upstairs and Nick and Jack can still go
up those stairs together every single night to bed.
