Speaker 1 (00:00):
Bude in the morning.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
H Shannon, this is not a good hiding spot for
the gifts. So it's already coming down to this that
you've already bought the gifts for Christmas for the kids
and you got to find it.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
I started. Yeah, you start pretty early, don't you.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
I do because some of the things that they want
tend to sell out. So just to like know I
have those specific things, or if I find something that's
like really hard to find and I'm not gonna be able
to find it again, Yes, I like to try this
jop as much as I can in November so that
I can actually enjoy the holidays in December.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Okay, smart, So you know when you're when you're hiding
your gifts for you know, your kids, Okay for Christmas.
I always say a good hiding spot is one that
they're not going to be nosey enough to find. A
bad hiding spot is one where you can't even find it.
Have you ever lost the gifts? Have you ever hid
gifts and found them like in July?

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Maybe once I've like, did you not even found them
in July?

Speaker 1 (00:55):
I just went like in a panic.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
I have a clause it where I keep like all
of our coat o my coats, and then like dress
formal dresses for events and stuff, you know, like stuff
that you're never going to look at on a daily basis.
And sometimes I'll hide stuff in there, but like in
pockets and stuff, and so that's where I know I've
put something in there, but I don't know where I

(01:19):
put it in there.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
So it's interesting. We had a place in our basement
that was like the place that Chelsea would hide it.
And the joke was that none of us would ever
go in there because it was where the treadmill was,
and Chelsea would use this area, this room that we
had in there. It was like a storagey area. It

(01:40):
kind of had like a some pump and things inside
of there. And we found out years later that the
boys would always go in there and look at what
they were getting. They knew and we did not know this.
And Chelsea was like so devastated by this later in life.
But she thought this was a perfect place because the
boys are never going on a treadmill, okay, and we're
never going on the treadmill, me be honest, and so

(02:01):
so she would put it there.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
But it bums me out that kids want to know.
I love surprises. I never wanted to know. I never snooped.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
I was snooping ever, not once. I remember being in.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
My one of my best friend's basements and we opened
the door and sure enough all of the gifts in there.
Oh see yeah, and then we started playing with them.
That's what I was going, did you Yeah, so her
mom had to buy all new gifts.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
So can I tell you something money, We used to
play with them, and back then it didn't have as
much death plastic as you have now on the toys,
but it had the wrap around stuff. My buddy used
to be able to wrap that thing to make it
look like the people in China were wrapping it out,
do you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
So where's the high you? Okay?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
So normally I use my attic and I have one
of those addicts where I have to go get this
like long hook thing on a stick and like pull
it down from the ceiling in the ladder coat. And
it's this whole day process and I'm constantly pulling the
thing down, going up there, putting the gifts up there,
coming down, closing it.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I'm like, I'm not doing that this year.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
I hate doing that, So I need a more easily
accessible gift hiding place. So my husband Wes, turned our
garage into a gym, which has all been used like
four times. And one of the things that he has
in there is a inflatable cold plunge but it has
a lid, and so it just got drained and it's

(03:25):
in the corner of the garage, and so I've been
putting the gifts and as I'm saying this, I'm like,
I'm gonna have to switch it because someone's gonna tell
my kids that I hide stuff there. But I've been
putting the stuff in there because it's easy access. It's
right in the garage. I can unload my car or
like throw a package in there from the side porch.
And then I've been putting store empty but storage boxes
on top of it.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
So I'm I'm thinking out of sight of well, he's
gonna have to west lost. That's that's a good spot.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
It is so hard when you have kids that are snoopers.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
My mom used to do it.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Should put it where the spare tire was in the car,
so she would lift that thing up and she would
put him inside where the spare tire was until she
couldn't remember where she put him, and it was inside
under there where the spare tire was.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
That's a good spot though.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Yeah, I fel like closet is always It depends on
how old your kids are, too, because if they aren't
tall enough to reach, then it's like that used to
be a place I would get stuff for Josiah. Now
I was like, maybe i'll throw it under the sync.
That used to be like a place too, because they're
not going to inside.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
My dad used to put his playboys up in the
closet up top, like where you would hide Josiah's toys,
and so we would go up there all the time
and like, find my dad's nudes magazines, Natalia, you there, Yes,
I'm here, find Natalia. Where's the perfect hiding spot for
the gifts?

Speaker 6 (04:51):
So I have storage bins in my basement that I
used like all year round for random things, and towards
Christmas time, all of my falt stuff is out of
them for a decoration, and I put all of their
Christmas gifts ray in those swords.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
That's a great idea.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
I think that's what I might do next.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Yeah, put them in your Christmas tree holder, Like do
you have a bag for your Christmas tree.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Or anything like that.

Speaker 6 (05:11):
Yeah, but we do now because our tree is full
of glitter, but from our old tree is totally empty,
so we.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
Use that too.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
What do you store all your holiday stuff in.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
In Ban's but the same thing up in that at it?
So then I'm just I'm still pulling down that line
in bam.

Speaker 6 (05:29):
Okay, yeah, mine's in my basement. So my mom actually
used to wrap our presence and put them into bins
when we got older. So we see it.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Well, that's a good idea. Wrap them right away and
then they can't open them.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
They do. It is either what's up, George? How you doing? Good? Good?
How are you guys doing this morning? We're good. Where's
the hiding spot? The camper? Ah? We barked our camper?
I win ariz the camper. I close it up for
the season until next year. Nobody goes in it.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I always loved the family in the neighborhood that had
the random camper or their boat and it would be
up on blocks and stuff. You know, Yeah, that's a
great idea. What's up, Doug?

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Hi?

Speaker 7 (06:14):
Hey, how you doing Hey? So my parents had told me, right, hey,
if you snoop. We're not hiding presents per se. Maybe
under the bed, maybe in the closet. But if I
snoop and I'm caught, they're all going back.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yeah I believe that. Yeah, they don't believe me. They're like,
yeah right, mom heard. I like the I like that,
thank you for the call.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
By the way, I like the person that texted in
and said that their dad has a gun safe and
so he has guns and a gun safe, you know,
for safety, and had put the toys all that stuff
inside there because no kid ever knew where the good
way to get into the gun safe.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Uh that's a good idea.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
I oh, suitcases, your suitcases for traveling?

Speaker 1 (06:58):
What a great idea. You know what? I just bought
a I bought.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
A new bed, like new bad frame, and I needed
like some extra storage spaces. So I bought a bed
frame that you can like lift up the bed and
it's got Like.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
But what if you have a lovely lady over and
you're smushing Josiah's what if it was a toy

Speaker 1 (07:22):
That made noise and every time
