Speaker 1 (00:10):
Mudje on the Morning show.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
You know, there are certain dates that I would deem
as really great dates, and then there are certain dates
that you would look at.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
And say, that's not really a good idea for a date.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
I want to talk about that right now here on
the show, and I want you to call out because
of great dates are boring to listen to. I want
to call out the worst dates that somebody has ever
taken you on, or you've ever taken somebody on it
turned out to be a bad one. I bring this
up for a reason, and I don't even know if
this is a good date or bad date. You can
also comment on this. But we're going to the Lions game.

(00:47):
So Chelsea and I are going to the Lions game
with some friends. Friends of ours invited us. They are
another couple that we love so much, Jessica and Will,
and they invited us to take a couple of their
tickets that they have.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
They have six tickets. Believe it are the game.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Will's a playoff, very nice and so they invited us
along with the other two tickets will be used too late,
my friend, You'll have to tackle another turkey for that one.
I'll be Will so they're taking the four of us,

(01:23):
and then there is a friend of theirs who has
the other two tickets. And I don't know the full story,
but what I understand is there would be a possibility
that that particular person would be bringing a first date.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
With them to the game.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
It's a very attractive friend of Jessica's who would be
taking a guy to the game. Okay, fun, and I
don't think it's a great idea. And because I am
I always negative on everything, you're kind of learning about
this and I used to be more positive person back
in the early days of my career.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I think everything was great, and then I guess then.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I don't think it's a great date because there's many
that have said that taking somebody on a movie date
is not a good date because you don't talk.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Yeah, right, I.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Got to do something afterwards. I think the game is
a bad date also because you're there at the game,
you're and you're also with two other couples, so you
got all this stuff going on, and you got the
couple pressure of other people that are there.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
That's the piece that I don't like. I actually think
Alliance game is a great first date, but the fact
that there are two other couples that you have to
interact with as you're trying to learn about and interact
with this your date is really tough.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Question for you.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Yes, it is Jessica's friend who's a female that's bringing
a guy. Yes, okay, So I think that context adds
a layer because she's trying not necessarily to impress him,
but she wants to give him an experience that she
believes he'll enjoy. Bringing a guy to a Thanksgiving Lions
game is an amazing date. But what guy doesn't want
to go? It's not Thanksgiving though, it's any game for

(03:09):
that matter. You're bringing a guy to a Lions game.
That's great, it's positive. He's gonna look at you in
a different way well as a guy. I also like
the idea. I would like my ladies to like sports
and like the Lions. But what if this guy's not
sport enough for her?

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Like you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Like, what if she goes to the game and the
guy goes yay, go team, you know.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Stuff like that. You know, So what's that they're doing
right now?

Speaker 5 (03:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
But also then the other thing comes into play, where
you do have other people that are there. And you
ever notice when guys and girls go together and stuff,
the guys usually hang with each other, the girls kind
of hang with each other. Then you're not with your
date for a while, so you're kind of away from
them for maybe a quarter or something like that. I

(03:55):
think we're going down early. Will Will told me that
we are leaving at eleven o'clock. It's one o'clock, so
I think we're getting down early. Well, I think we're
not tailgating, but we're getting to the game early enough
that we can go inside and have drinks and stuff
like that. But all right, so I'd like to know
a do you think this is a good idea for
a date? But also be what's the worst date somebody

(04:15):
took you on?

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Can I tell you mine? I don't know if I've
ever I had to have shared this story at some point.
So when I was in college and I'd broken up
with my long term boyfriend, I very briefly dated this
guy who lived in Des Moines, Iowa. And I went
to visit him one weekend and we did all the things,
and then he was like, hey, Saturday night, like my

(04:37):
I want you to meet my my parents and we're
going to have like a date night at my parents' house.
And I was like, okay, okay, fine. I could not
make the story up if I tried. We had dinner,
and then his parents put on a puppet show for me.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
I swear on my life. What reaction his mom, I.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Believe wasn't used to be. She was retired an elementary
school teacher. She pulls out a rubber maid container filled
with hand puppets, and we sat in their living room
and she did a puppet show.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Behind the count to God, right behind the couch.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
A chair so you can see I am not joking
the voices she did, all the things.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, you know what's funny? It was epic. I'll never
forget it.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
I look at you in a different light because I
know who the true inner workings of you are. You're
one date that you went on with a guy you
lost your virginity to. You got a friend in me
the toy story song.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Oh no, that wasn't that wasn't that was my I
mean that was my.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Okay, that's it.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Then the next thing you go to a guy for
on a date with a puppet show? Did these guys
turn you into who you are?

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Now?

Speaker 3 (05:53):
What do you mean.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
I mean, I don't think you're a toy story type person.
I mean there's a wild side to Shannon that we
all should know.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, but like those things, these are the guys.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
But these are the guys you met when you were younger,
you were hanging out.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
This is you know what the problem is? It was
a gros Seal you were on that.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Well the puppet show guy was not from gros Seal
reallywa des Moines, Iowa.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Okay, all right, what's going on, Jason? How you doing good?

Speaker 6 (06:24):
How are you today?

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Good? What's going on?

Speaker 5 (06:27):
The first time?

Speaker 7 (06:27):
Long?

Speaker 1 (06:28):
TI?

Speaker 7 (06:33):
All right?

Speaker 8 (06:33):
So I went to a horrible date about ten years ago.
I lived in Miskegan, and I had this girl approached
me at a restaurant and think that I was pretty
good looking, and she said that she wanted to take
me to a Lions.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Game that weekend.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
And you didn't know each.

Speaker 8 (06:48):
Other, and I thought that I had just scored something big.
So I rode with her and we left Miskegan.

Speaker 9 (06:55):
We were riding on the highway and you know the
Michigan the last plane is the fast lane, and she
was on the right all the time, riding people's bunch
yelling and screaming at everybody, and I'm like, oh man,
and she smoked about a pack of cigarette.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Oh my god, you're stuck in the garden for two
hours with their smoking cigarettes.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
Oh it's almost like two and a half at least.

Speaker 6 (07:19):
And she was it was very uh intact, right, So
that was the first part.

Speaker 8 (07:26):
You know, I'm like, okay, she's still taking me.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
A Lion to the Lions game.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
Oh it was terrible.

Speaker 6 (07:33):
So we pre drank before we got there, some bars,
had a decent time, and we were at we at
the Lions game on the upper level and now we
are we were in noose sleep sections and she's screaming
forfanity at Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
At this as that you stuck, you know, like, oh my.

Speaker 6 (07:52):
Gosh, and his family's all around us everywhere.

Speaker 8 (07:56):
So I was really getting annoyed.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
And then we get to rode the hotel afterwards.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Hotel okay, yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Right, so I thought I was gonna have a good time.
Well it worked out. She looked at me at the
hotel room before dinner and she says, congratulations, you just
passed our family background jack WHOA.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
And I said, excuse me, And I said.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
But I rode with you. I can see if you
were riding with me because they didn't know me or anything.
But I wrote all the way with you.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
I said, shouldn't it be the opposite? I said, you're
going to hold me hotey.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
So I was starting to get a little bit annoyed.

Speaker 6 (08:36):
And then at dinner we were eating downtown Detroit, and
she looked at.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
Me and she said, you look like you're annoyed. What's up?

Speaker 6 (08:42):
And then I took a deep breath and I just
let it all out, and she said, well, glad you
told me everything.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Good luck going home. She left me and.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
You had to find a way back to go to
the west side of the state.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
I had to sit there until my dad drove from
White Call to go dig me.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Oh my god, Jason in the.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Morning and h my dad and I talked about baby
between what.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Did your dad? Did your dad say, man, you smell
like cigarettes.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
Your Dad's like, my dad has been married five times,
and he's like, dude, you're going down my path. Man.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yeah, I'm seeing my son durn into a two guy
who's gonna not find himself a good girl.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Oh my god, that's wild. What's up? Sarah? How you doing.

Speaker 7 (09:32):
Hey, good you guys doing Happy Friday?

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Friday? Hey tell us tell us about your bad date?
Oh lord?

Speaker 7 (09:40):
Okay, So I knew this guy, but we had never
really dated. So we were friends and they were like,
let's try to you know whatever. So then we went
to go watch the Lions game downtown at a bar,
and then he was like, hey, you should come and
help me decorate my Christmas tree, which I thought was
kind of cute. I was like, that'd be fun, you know,
because I knew him and just never dated. So then
we get to his house. Turns out it was his

(10:02):
family Christmas party.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
No, his family.

Speaker 7 (10:07):
Basically he told his family that we were together. He
was talking about asking me to marry.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Oh my god, this is crazy.

Speaker 7 (10:16):
Only did I want to meet his entire family. I
stayed to decorate the tree dinner, like I felt, I
didn't want to leave.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Did you ever tell him that or tell the family
that you had just met this guy?

Speaker 5 (10:28):
Well?

Speaker 7 (10:29):
I didn't just meet him, because we hung out before.
He used to go to like sick jams and stuff
like that and hang out, but we just never dated.
And so I think in his head he was like, oh, yeah,
we you know.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
We're cool with Wow, that is crazy, that's amazing. That's
crazy and creepy. Jenna, what was the worst first date
you went on?

Speaker 7 (10:51):
This guy took me to Opening Day to see The
Hobbit in the movie theater.

Speaker 10 (10:56):
I never watched any of the Lord of the Rings.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
I hate going to the movies.

Speaker 7 (11:01):
There was a packed theater and it was just awful.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
And that's not a short movie either. That's like a
three hour movie.

Speaker 8 (11:08):
No, it was so.

Speaker 7 (11:09):
Long folder with people.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
I have no idea what's going on.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
I can't even talk to the guy.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
It's awful.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Thank god. Sierra's funny.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Siarah, tell us about the date you went on with
the Blowing Bubbles guy.

Speaker 11 (11:26):
Okay, so I want say any names that I went
to high school with the son of a very iconic
Motown artist. Okay, and all while we were in high school,
he wanted to go out with me and everything. I
kept kind of turning him down. But after I graduated,
I think he was like a year under me. After
I graduated, I ended up running into him.

Speaker 9 (11:45):
He asked me on a date.

Speaker 11 (11:46):
I'm like, okay, what the hell, Like, let's just let's
just do it. I'm like, Okay, so he comes to
pick me up from the date. At first, we have
to pick up his dad to drop his dad off somewhere,
and that was the best part of the date, Like,
I would hang out with his dad any day. So
we dropped his dad off and then we go to
a restaurant. I don't remember which restaurant. So we're sitting
in the booth and the whole time he's acting like

(12:09):
a complete toddler. He's laying in the booth of the
at the table, he's kicking, and he's blowing bubbles in
his drinks? Am I being frank? Like what is going on?
I'm texting my mom. I'm like, I don't know what
is going on here? She like, just try to just
try to stick it out, you know, don't be rude,

(12:29):
don't text. I'm like, Mama, he is blowing bubble.

Speaker 8 (12:35):
I'm ready to go.

Speaker 11 (12:37):
Probably like twenty in our twenties.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Okay, you're old enough to not be blowing twenty unbelievable.
You know, he ain't have to pick up his dad, right, Elena,
This sounds like a date that Shannon might have gone on.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
And before what was the date?

Speaker 10 (12:58):
Yes, Hi, guy's giving I went on a date with
a not so great musician. He brought me to one
of his gigs and we had to drive an hour away,
and then I had to sit alone during his entire gig.
And when he was done, he got a free meal

(13:21):
from the bar, so we had to share his free meal.
And then after the meal, on the drive home, he
got pulled over, and he was so nervous about getting
pulled over that he started crying and he called his mom.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Crying, Oh my god, what an evening did.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
You ever have to when you were date musicians? Did
you ever have to go and watch them play and
be sitting there by yourself.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
All the time? Was it just boring after a while
or not born music? But how about Delena? Did he
did he do a song for you?

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Did he like say, like sit by you and sing
to you sometimes?

Speaker 10 (14:01):
But it was mainly me sitting there bored out of
my mind, ready to go home, but I was stuck
an hour away.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
So at least you got the free meal. What did
you get? You remember what the meal was?

Speaker 7 (14:13):
What was half of the meal?

Speaker 10 (14:14):
And it was just chicken, thunders and fries.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
But you went out with him again? No, didn't you?

Speaker 10 (14:22):
He was

Speaker 1 (14:26):
You u that one
