Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Mojo.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
In the morning show, keV has a thing that happened
at a wedding that he wanted to bring up right now,
And I want to get everybody's opinion on this one.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
So when was this wedding, keV? This wedding was a
couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
And this is interesting because I have never heard of
a couple doing this.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
What was it that the couple had for a rule?
So the rule, and this is in the invitation, it's printed.
It's clear. It's no way you missed it if you
read the invitation. So it tells you what's time to
be there, where to be, kind of tells you a
little bit about the attire. And then there's a line
at the end that says, if you are not here
by this time, the doors will be locked. So basically,
(00:41):
we're not allowing anybody to walk in during our procession.
Nothing is going to interrupt the flow of this wedding.
If you are not here by this time, the doors
will be locking. You'll be locked out. Let me guess
you and Cherrell, who are late for everything, We're locked out?
You're wrong? No, oh my god, wait, how did you
guys get there on time? Uh, because we're timely individuals.
(01:03):
We probably just don't show up on time for our events.
If you have an event, then we'll be there on time.
So what happened? So I'm sitting down. Charrell's in the wedding,
so she's off doing Oh that's why Charrelle is there.
I didn't drive. Okay, Okay, you good, I'm good guy.
So so I get there. Cherelle's there. I get there,
(01:23):
I'm sitting down and I hear the guy behind me.
He's looking at his watch. Apparently he's like, oh, I
want I want to know if they gonna shut the
doors like they said he was gonna love to do it.
I'm here and done. Everybody's kind of making jokes or
whatever like that. They give the people about a five
ten minute grace period. They were like, man, you don't
bike word about these doors. They just said it here
right here. Literally, we know the music starts, people are
(01:43):
starting to walk in. The wedding party is walked in.
You look back and you can see people locked outside
of the wedding.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Are you talking about like the door, the main doors
to the church, or like the whole church.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
I'm talking about not the vestibule area. This is this
is a this is a church or whatever this place was.
It has an outside door. It's where you can literally
walk in the establishment, kind of like our radio station,
and then there's a clear door to let you into
where the procession is taking place. Right, they didn't let
people into the first door, so they were outside outside,
out And it wasn't like five, maybe a handful of people.
(02:19):
It was like a full row of people that are
literally standing by the window, like look, hands across, like no, pamplis.
Did anybody knock?
Speaker 3 (02:28):
No?
Speaker 1 (02:28):
I mean I couldn't hear them if they did. Exa
was in the front.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
What would have happened if somebody in the back of
the church were to get up and open the door
for them where they the bridal party been upside?
Speaker 1 (02:37):
You probably had to deal with somebody mama and daddy
at that point. So when did they let them all in?
After the bride got after it? So, I mean at
a certain point I forgot they were there because I
turned my head to the front and watched the wedding commence,
So in my mind, they didn't allow them in until
everybody started to walk out. I love this too, I.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Do I think that sometimes people can be so disruptive
during a service, especially when now there's different kinds of
wedding services.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Right, I grew up Catholic. There's the.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Five minute service, and these there's the hour and a
half full communion service.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, don't ever do that one. You're a horrible person
if you choose to do that one.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
But if it's like a ten minute service and the
whole time it's just like doors opening and closing and
people shuffling in and causing a distraction, it would be annoying.
If it's the hour and a half service, maybe let
them in.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Amn't know, they have really late friends to write that
on the invitation. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think that that is.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
And by the way, are you one of the late
friends they made that rule for? Well, I mean I
was there on time. So I think that disrupting a
wedding by walking in like that door opening up. And
I've been at some of these weddings where that's happened
where it's a small little place and the door's like
really close to where the bride's stand in and the
groom standing. And then the big cathedral type churches, Yeah,
(03:59):
when you open a or yourean eaco goes through because
there's only you know, like a third foll It's like if.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
You go to see a musical and if you are late,
they make sure that the opening number is done before
they will let anybody else go down.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Texters here are saying this is a great idea, but
my wedding, there'd be nobody in the seats because nobody
was at my wedding at the time. Another one here,
this is from five A six five eight six says
and by the way, eight four four Mojo Live or
text nine five five zero zero says, my bridesmaid was
late for our wedding and showed up as the wedding started.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
How do you How are you a bride? What do
they say? Uh, isn't there like some kind of a bride?
No late for your own wedding or something?
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (04:45):
That person so late there or late for their own wedding. Funeral? Yeah,
funeral or late for their own funeral. Oh that's what
it is. Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
What would you do to your bridesmaid if your bridesmaid
showed up late to the to the wedding? Jeez, my
dad was late to our wedding and we've Honestly, I
thought my dad died. I hate to say this, but
he was so sick and he got some kind of
stomach thing from the rehearsal dinner the night before and
wasn't there, and I was so worried.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
I was like texting away with people going.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
But we almost like postponed the wedding or waited a
little bit, and the mon senior was like, we have
to have the wedding. And my dad finally showed up,
but he was sitting on the toilet having uh as.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
He said, a bm a bawl movement. Misfit billy, what's up?
Speaker 4 (05:32):
Yeah, those biscuit ears put that deg On rule on me.
I'd be the first one at the reception.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Area tomorrow, start drinking right away, right.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah? Are you? Are you an on time person? That
doesn't sound like it now, I'm very on time. Yeah
on me, I'm.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Going to yeah, well, listen to this. A wedding planner
just uh text us and said, I'm a wedding planner
and event planner and that is a normal thing.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
You will actually on five. What's going on? Maddie?
Speaker 4 (06:05):
Hi, Hi, Patny.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
You guys see this often.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Yeah, So I worked for a wedding and planning company,
and I would have to stand outside with people that
showed up late, and I would have like ten to
fifteen people stay with me, and then once the bride
got down the aisle, we would have to escort them
like a back route and they would have to sit
in the back row of the sea.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Wow. So that was a common thing.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Did you ever see somebody so close to the bride
or the groom be the late person?
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Oh? Yeah, I have best girl ball her eyes out
because she she had to drive two hours for the
wedding and she was late, so she didn't even get
to see her best friend and go down the aisle.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Oh man, did anybody try to bribe you to get in? No,
that didn't happen, would you they slipped yet?
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Twenty Wendy, what did you want to say?
Speaker 4 (06:54):
I'm just absolutely flabbergasted that people have so little expect
for a bride.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
And groom and the.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Importance of a wedding that a bride and groom has
to threaten to lock people out a third place. I'm
just blown away at that. It's a wedding. It's not
like it's a kid's birthday party. The two people are
getting married and they cured enough to invite you there
on time.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
You need to get Wendy.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
You need to be the the event planner for weddings. Uh, Kendra,
who is late for the wedding?
Speaker 4 (07:29):
My husband? Oh jeez, ex well, it was actually the rehearsal.
He was in the bathroom of the church throwing up
for two hours.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Did he party and have his bachelor party the night before?
Speaker 4 (07:43):
No? He claims it was the food he hate, but
it turns out it was just nerves.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Oh that's so.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
We had all of the groomsmen and my dad in
the bathroom trying to give him a pep talk.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
You know what. They say that that's a good luck
thing if your husband's late for the wedding.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Yeah, well I didn't. I was also a ball.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
With nurse at that point, so, by the way, it's
not really good luck. Yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
Ye showed up. But yeah, can you.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Imagine you're so nervous to get married you're throwing up
in the back of the church.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Then I was nervous for the actual wedding day because
if he was that nervous for the rehearsal.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yes, I would be the same, Yeah, thank you for
the call.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Yeah, I think
