Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Mojo in the Morning Show. For those that have
no clue about two weeks ago, in the big announcement
that was made, we posted it on social media, but
we talked on the air. It was honestly a shocker
to me when she had come to me and said, Hey,
I'm gonna want to move on from the show and

(00:21):
move on from radio. Megan is leaving the show and
tomorrow is actually her last official day, but today is
her last day in studio. So for those that don't
know how it all started with Megan, Megan with this
show with Mojo in the Morning was an interesting one
because she had been on radio in Toledo for a

(00:43):
number of years. Started as an intern, ended up working
into a co host on the Kiss Morning Show. I
got to know her when the company asked me, Hey,
would you work with these guys and just kind of
share ideas and stuff like that. I got to meet
Eric and Demetrius and Sarah and Megan, and it was

(01:03):
wild because she was definitely somebody that stuck out like
a sore thumb, because with the rest of the group,
she was by far the least season of people. And
what I mean that was she was definitely the youngest.
She also was probably the least jaded because she had

(01:25):
not been like bouncing around radio stations and been fired.
I knew Eric for some time. Eric Chase, who's honestly,
very very talented guy, worked here in town for many
years of ninety three to one DRQ love him. And
he also was a program guy down you know, he's
program director and stuff down in Toledo. Very smart guy.

(01:45):
I didn't know Demetrius much, but I had heard of him,
you know, and I knew his reputation was that he
was very, very funny. And I knew of Sarah her
and her great talents, but also knew that she comes
from a media family because her husband was on television
in the market. They were Toledo's power couple, the power couple.
Now you and I are the power company. So what

(02:08):
I do this big build up of this whole thing.
When our radio show was going to be on in Toledo,
the conversation was, Hey, we would love to keep somebody
from that show, and the conversation was who do you
want to want to keep? And when Demetrius turned me down,
I said, well what about me?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Now, I'm just kidding it it'll never stop.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
No, I said Megan. And I said Megan for one
very good reason, and Tony reminded me of this, I said, Megan,
because that I wanted to have somebody that was not
jaded towards radio and I don't. I wanted to have
somebody that didn't develop the radio habits. I wanted somebody
that could come here and be on the show and

(02:53):
be a little bit of a difference maker, so to speak.
And she really was. And she started on the show
at an awkward time because you went on maternity and
you leave, so people all of a sudden started thinking that.
All of our Detroit listeners started thinking, who is this?

Speaker 2 (03:06):
You know, so I replaced clean Shin, I did it.
I wanted you to come back just as badly as
everybody else.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
And then it became then it became a okay, this
is in. I kept saying to Megan, don't read the comments.
Don't people everything I It's like, if I can just
sit there, my my words for Megan on My My
Megan Tombstone will be don't read the comments. So long
story short, she did a fabulous job and she made

(03:36):
us all proud. She always valued Toledo, even to a
point where I kept forgetting you know many many times
that you know, we have to be mindful of the
fact that we have listeners all over the place. But
Toledo is a very special place radio wise. It's a

(03:57):
great radio market. This radio station that we're on in
Toledo is a powerhouse. They're loyal and but you have
always been there their protector.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
So yes, they're my people.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
So Magani, I'm gonna let you talk from here. I'm
done talking about you.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
So I wrote a eulogy that I thought you guys
might want to here, And this is a eulogy for
my radio career. Okay, hey guys, ready, somebody seems very
invested or emotional.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I put a lot of effort into this.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Okay, once you speak, probably that's when the emotion will come.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Ladies and gentlemen, friends, listeners, confused podcast subscribers, and those
who still think that I just push buttons and talk.
We are gathered here today to mourn the passing my
beloved radio career. After years of caffeine field mornings and
live reads and mispronounced celebrity names and panicked FCC compliance checks,

(04:53):
I lay this wild wonderful, barely regulated chapter of my
life to rest. To begin, I must thank the man,
the myth, and the morning Mike Legend.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Mojo Mojo, you were more than a host.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
You were a guide, a mentor, a guy with really
an endless supply of golf polos and dad advice. You
taught me how to show up, to speak up, and
honestly sometimes shut up just before the segment runs too long.
And your faith in me, even when I was fumbling
for words, meant more than I can ever say, though

(05:27):
everybody knows I did try on air during a ratings
book to really keep talking.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Jannon, you are my north star.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
You are a powerhouse in heels because you're so short
and your mascara never runs, except the hundreds of times
we were drunk together talking about how much we want
each other. You have had so many moments of wisdom
with me that hit deeper than I mean anything, So
thank you so much for that. I don't think that
I would be the woman I am today without you
telling me how to do everything.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Everything. Your strength, empathy and perfectly timed.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Sarcasm at the right moments for me to call me
out on my bs are just everything.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
I value in life.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
You are the gold standard and working with you has
made me a better person, a better woman, a better
radio person, talent whatever.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
I'm not looking at you anymore.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Shut up, okay to keV my walking FCC violation risk.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
You keep me terrified and laughing.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
You give me heart palpitations every time you grab the
mic and say can I say this on air or no?
I can definitely say that on air when it's not
able to be said on air. Ever, I still don't
know if we legally can play all of our segments,
because I think we should still go back and review.
But you brought fire and fun and that are we

(06:49):
about to get fined energy? And that makes morning super unpredictable, unforgettable.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Really appreciate you, Zach. I hope you're in your studio
listening because I can't hear you.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
But you are my wheat golden retriever sold Zach. If
loyalty and good vibes were a person, it would be you.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
You are my human serotonin boost. I love you so much.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
You could walk into a tornado and somehow make it
feel very calm and fun for me. And I really
appreciate the fact that I don't think there's anybody around
here that I talked to more throughout the day. And
it doesn't matter if I called you at five in
the morning or eleven o'clock at night. You always answered
the phone. And we're just like, hey, buddy, how can

(07:32):
I help? And I really just appreciate you and I
love you so much and your ability to fist bump
through all of our trauma Lydia to our in house
hype woman and parties are Nobody could turn a Tuesday
into a themed event quite like you. Valentine's Day Boom,
the Core treats vibes. Not only do you make the
studio feel like home with a touch of pinterest let's

(07:54):
be honest, and a little bit of glitter, but you
always made sure that everything was acknowledged, brought up, and
you're on top of everything. And you're just a powerhouse leader.
Uh Bianca, my Ride or die Bianca. You are the
kind of TV that people dream up. Okay, I need
people to know how much you do around here. You

(08:14):
drop everything to help me all of the time, like
it does not matter what is going on. You have
saved shows for me, You've saved my sanity.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
You make everything feel a little bit more manageable, because
anytime I need something super last minute, you show up.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
And I'm just super grateful to you.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
You are the one everybody should have in their corner,
and lucky enough for me, I did have you in
my corner.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
So thank you. So here lies my radio career.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
It's full of chaos and laughter and unexpected on air confessions,
the occasional slip of profanity, which has not happened in
a while.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
So heyo.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
I had such a good run with this, you guys.
It was loud, it was unpredictable, it was fun, but
most importantly, it was ours. And I am so grateful
to all of you. Yeah, thank you, everybody, love you,
thank you.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Thank you for making us better began. Yeah, you will
understand uh one day. And I always said that I
didn't understand this until I think I turned fifty, so
you got some time before you can understand this. But
you all understand one day. How every current day that
you're in is the greatest day you'll ever have. I

(09:40):
like that. And you look back on certain things, and
when you look back on them, and you go, God,
if I can only relive. And I have always been
a person that have lived, has lived in the past,
you're living in the present. By yeah body, I am uh.
I still don't understand it, but it's not for money
to understand, but I am. I'm happy for you, and

(10:03):
be quite honest with you, I'm happy for all of
us that we got a chance to work with you
because I think you set the bar for where we
have to go with how the show goes.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah, dog, I want to say thank you.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience working with you, from you
being in Toledo and having to spend time with you
virtually to you making that move and that big jump
to Detroit. It was a great energy when you came
into the studio. For like, we vibed and we clicked instantly.
We had a podcast a while ago where we talked
about first impressions and we had a conversation about that.

(10:39):
I had a different experience of a first impression with
you virtually, but when you came in the studio, my
first impression was I had my first ever commercial and
I didn't know how to record anything, and Megan was like, oh, babes,
come on, and then brought me into the studio showed
me how to record my first commercial and look at
me now. And then she showed me how to record

(11:00):
my first show and did like my first couple of
shows with me Saturdays from eight to now, and now
I'm off running and uh we You know, we've had
our contentious moments and we've had our real conversations, but
I think through it all, hopefully you know that I
love you and that I care about you, and I
enjoy working with you. Thank you a dope ass person.

(11:21):
And I appreciate your fight, you know, fighting for the
things that you love regardless of how many people are
on your side during that fight. That's something I resonate with.
I love how you put on for the black community
in particular. You come with your facts and your receipts,
and you who let the groundwork for me. I appreciate you,
and yeah, I'm a missie.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
Oh, don't look at me. I don't even want to
open my mouth because I feel like I'm grass.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
I love you, I am.

Speaker 6 (11:54):
I am being going to be very honest.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
I'm struggling so hard with it because I feel like
I still wanting to change it of mine. I am
excited for the next chapter of this show. I also
am dreading Monday morning coming in here and senior chair empty.
I wasn't even sure I liked you at first, and
that is no secret to anybody, because in this business,

(12:17):
you know, they bring in another very talented female and
you think you're being pushed out. And I was already
just in a really fragile state with things that were
happening in my marriage behind the scenes. I just had
a baby, you know, my hormones were all over the place.
And then there's this superstar that is filling in for me,
and I come back and I'm like, I don't I

(12:37):
don't know how I feel about this situation, you know,
I mean, it was it was truly a lesson for
me of there is room for everybody in a room
and on a radio show. And then my heart started
to soften, and I feel like we became friends very
very quickly. And you have just been not only a
great co worker and a great co host, but such

(12:59):
a good friend to me and my family and my kids.

Speaker 6 (13:02):
And I mean we have we have gone through a
lot together. One of my favorite memories of you, my
very first memories with you, is when I came back
from Eternity leave and we would, you know, do live broadcast.
I would have to pump in the car and Megan
would come and sit with me, and I'm like, so
these are my boobs. I've known you for like two days,

(13:23):
but here we go, and it, you know, just kind
of escalated from there, our time rooming together in Vegas,
where I learned so many things about you that I
don't think I needed to know, but it just all
these things brought us closer and getting very very drunk
in front of listeners together on a Facebook live during COVID.
If you were a part of that, you remember Meghan

(13:45):
and I to doing all of the charity work we've
done together with New Day, and you know, I am
I'm so sad selfishly, but I am so happy for
you because I know that this is the best decision
to make for the best Megan. And I also know
that I'm probably gonna talk to you all the time.
I am going to talk to you all the time anyway.
But it's it is. It's not fun.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
It'll be fine. It'll be so much fine. You're gonna
have So let's be honest.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
When Mojo gets a new shiny toy, he's the most
fun Mojo.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Megan.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
I love your smile. I really do, and I want
you to keep on smiling.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
You deserve it.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
Thank you, and if not, drink and.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Be Margarita's tonight.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
As I have question, is this a good topic or
a bad topic?

Speaker 2 (14:35):
I am what do we say?

Speaker 7 (14:37):
Oh? Comfortably poor? Somebody called me. Is it okay to
say that I am comfortable spending small limits amounts of
random money, but not large amounts because I still made
a savings account. Comfortably poor?

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Tell you in context.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
