Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right'mojoe in the morning. Uh weh, I got to

(00:04):
start with this one. So we were having a conversation
about what we're doing for Christmas. I think we got
three Christmases, so we're hotly christ Are you gonna.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Get me even more sick? What's going on here? Oh?
My god? Get it out?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Yeah, we got to suck that stuff out. Have you
ever think don't they have? Isn't there something that you
can do, like where you can go in there.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
And just like.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
The babies that they and the little like with a
ball at the end of it and stuff, suck it
right out of them.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
So we're going to have a couple of Christmases. And
one of the Christmases, Chelsea and I were having a
discussion about we were invited over to a person's house
and as soon as she said whose house it was?
I was like, uh uh no, way not doing it
and the reason why? And I want to ask you
guys as listeners, and I want to ask the guys
on the show this question. If you know that the

(00:55):
people that who are inviting you over are bad cooks,
and you have experienced their holiday cooking, do you subject
yourself to something that you already know is not going
to be good. And I'm gonna give an example because
this is not the person that I'm talking about, But
it was like back in the day, Chelsea and I
used to have Christmas with Chelsea's beloved grandfather, Danny Mansel.

(01:16):
Love this guy so much. His wife, on the other hand,
not so much. Her cooking was atrocious, was it like
it was everything? But the worst of them all is
I'm a big stuffing guy. I like stuffing. You don't
put hard things in stuffing. I don't want to bite

(01:37):
into stuffing and have nuts in there.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I'm with you. I don't want.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
To have crunchy Stuffing should not be crunchy. If it's crunchy,
it should be because maybe the bread is got a
little bit of crunch.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
She should be chunky, crunchy. It's so, And.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Here's the deal. The texture to food is as much
as the taste of the food. And oh god, her
stuffing was bad stuffing.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
And we would say there the entire time. And so
this is actually kind of funny.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Chelsea and I we had probably been married, I don't know,
five six years or something at this point. We would
bring stove top stuffing have you ever seen it in
a box?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Red box?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
We would bring stovetop stuffing to the house because we
would make it and say that I was allergic to
something that was in her stuff. And you know what
was crazy? First year we brought just a regular box.
The next year we had to bring a family size
because everybody in the stove top. So so this family

(02:35):
that invited us to their you know, Christmas celebration. She's
not a good cook, and I just don't know. I
can't do it. I think you eat before you go.
Now you can't.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Sucks.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I wants to do that? And who wants to have
to make a man?

Speaker 4 (02:51):
No?

Speaker 1 (02:52):
What's worse eating before you come or forcing yourself to
eat something you know you're not going to enjoy it?

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Honestly, I will not force myself to even eat her
go to me.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
I'm not saying you got to have your own like spread,
but go grab some Chipotle, grabs some McDonald's real quick
on the Christmas.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
What are you gonna do? What's the alternative?

Speaker 1 (03:10):
You can't have you can have Chipotle on Christmas? What
is the alternative? The alternative is not going to her
house and we just have our own Christmas meal there
you go, or you can just go to honeybag Ham
make you some ham sandwiches before you go the the cell.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Actually, do you know that they door dash?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Did you know that Honey that Honey Baken Company will
door dash sandwich is to you right now?

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Yeah, we can.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Actually, you can do it. Actually you can door dash.
Your this is a commercial. Should be the one telling
us that she's the advertiser for them.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yes, this is mine.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Talk to me.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Nice spiral roasted honey baked ham, delicious size mashed potatoes,
sweet potatoes, corn, they do all of that.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Yeah, they had no idea. Yeah, it's like a Boston
mash commercial.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Spiral cinnamon ham, you're really selling it.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
I just have a hard time.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I have a hard time going and ruining one of
the best food holidays. Like there are certain things like
Thanksgiving is obviously the ultimate food holiday. Christmas is probably
number two. Then Easter, then Fourth of July, you know
what I mean? Like those are times where I want
to eat. July is over Easter, Yes, Fourth of July
barbecue over Okay, all right, I'm fine with that. Easter

(04:30):
actually is not a good meal. Scallop potatoes don't do
enough for me. What's up, Jeremy, how you doing.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Good?

Speaker 5 (04:39):
First?

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Kick it off?

Speaker 6 (04:45):
So, yeah, me and my wife took over the Christmas
hand because my stepmother would cook it till it was
completely black.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
You'd make sure that that big was dead. Oh my god,
it would be dry. Probably huh.

Speaker 6 (05:01):
Yeah, you couldn't even pull it out of the crock
pot because it just fall apart.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
How did you tell her let me cook the ham?
How did that come about?

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (05:11):
We just straight up told her I'm cooking them.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Did you explain to her why?

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Because we could never tell Chelsea's grandfather's wife that we
did not like her stuffing.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
My wife didn't want to sew, but I did. I'm like,
you just overcook the am. I'm like, it's ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
I'm doing it from power.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Yeah, Jeremy, that could cause problems, that could cause issues
in your your family.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Ashley, what's up, hi, Mojo? You shouldn't be eating other
people's cooking anyways.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Well, you're going to bring up the gluten, but you
have to understand something. She would make me gluten free
version of her bad stuffing.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Right, that's probably good. That's ter my daughter, Celiac, And
this is why I'm like, wait a minute.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
That's actually one of the good reasons why I always
say this, having gluten allergy is good because a lot
of times, if you have somebody that's a bad cook,
you can make your own at home and bring it.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
You know exactly, you have your own excuse to bring
your own food.

Speaker 7 (06:09):
So why are you even gonna bother attempting trying to
eat somebody else's.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
This person who we were invited, This person who we
were invited to their house is such a bad cook
that if Chelsea and the boys and I went there,
the boys would even eat gluten free that day because
they would be like, there's no way. So yeah, thank
you for the call, Ashley Merry Christmas. Miss fit Tony
wants to weigh in on this one. What's up to?

(06:34):
Here's the deal.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Here's the deal.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
You say one word, now you're done for the rest
of the day. You're a wanting done on the show.
I saw that you were on with us early in
the show, like a couple of three days ago, and
then I saw you called back again. Afterwards. I said
to Lydia, this is a one time only. Once you
leave the business, you cannot re enter.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
I mean special privileges though, always talking about things that
I can relate to. So it's just it's perfect the course.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
God called back.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
So listen, Shenna, Mojo Anna, Uh, y'all never had any
real soul food because y'all keep talking about stuffing. Man,
were talking about stuffing is dressing, dressing, Detroit, Man, go
get some real soul food, so you know what it's.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
So it's we should call it dressing and not stuffing.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah, because stuff is just not it Mojo Detroit, what okay?
So the difference is the way it's prepared, So soul
food stuffing is not dressing dressing. You bake it, you

(07:54):
get a nice crisp on it, you got turkey in it,
you got bread, bread crumbs, you got all the stuff,
and you're just whipping it around. It's like mash potatoes.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
I mean, I mean, I've cooked my stuffing like you
cook your dressing.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
So maybe I just need to turn the name and
change it.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
You get you need to call grandma.

Speaker 7 (08:19):
Because I have experienced cooking from my black friends, parents
and grandparents. And now when I go respectfully to my
my family's Thanksgiving, nothing the seasoned. So I'm thinking I'm
pulling up with a little salt, pepper, garlic or something,
because I need to put that on there.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Listen, I hate to say this, but I have black
friends too, and I will be honest when I've gone
to their houses. Their homes. Sweet potato pie is way
better than pumpkingus.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
You see what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
I know.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
The only thing I want you to do, Mojo is
take all the staff, bees and corn bread. It's closed
down out, but bees and corn bread. It would have
been my suggestion. Okay, Now it's a turn of toul
food restaurant, whip out the business card man, take.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
All the staff, all the idea. Okay, to get some
soul food man, real soul. We're gonna get it all air. No,
thank you, Tony. I appreciate you, buddy, I love you. Man.
Hold On.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Christina used to have to tell her mom that she
couldn't do the turkey.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Why was that? I want to tell.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
My mom she can't do the turkey, but none of
us have the to do it.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Why what's wrong with her turkey?

Speaker 5 (09:38):
She's a vegetarian, so she doesn't eat it, and every
year it just gets worse. But this year it was
still pink and shiny. Oh yeah no, So we all
looked at each other like I'm not saying we waited
for the mean sister to get there, and she did it.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Oh my god, that's awful. Pink and shiny, hold on,
great Randy. Grandma is the bad cook in the family.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
What did she do? How does that happen? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (10:09):
So we used to have Christmas up at my grandmother's
house every year Mount Pleasant and it was a tradition
for years. So about two years ago we had Christmas
up there and we were exchanging gifts and my brother
bought my dad a kaser from Gibraltar Trade Center and
they were My grandfather had a pacemaker and my brother
he was he gave it to my dad and he
was clicking the button and the electricity must have went

(10:30):
through the air something to interfere with my grandfather's pascetmakers.
So we like fell off the couch and we thought
he was like dying, and like we forgot about the
food in the oven, and the food got caught on
the elements caught the euta on fire and the trucks
had to come and everything, and that's where we didn
stopped really going because the cooking We stopped going because
it was the safety has it.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
That's like National lampoons, Christmas vacation, Grandpa's paste.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Awful, so bad.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
That's great. All right, Well, thank you for the call, Randy.
I appreciate you, buddy. Thank you guys.

Speaker 7 (11:00):
