Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, it's Mojo in the Morning. Uh, Mojo gives
you a baby? Why don't we announce in the first couple?
Nine thirty got a big announcement at nine thirty, Doctor
Shama will be on with us. All right, Mojo in
the Morning show. So Shannon taught her daughter something that
I actually think that I'm surprised she didn't know already

(00:22):
and heard this phrase. It just shows you how good
of a mom you are, that you that your kids actually.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Go to all their stuff. But what did you teach
your daughter?

Speaker 3 (00:31):
I taught Lucy what playing hooky means, and I kept
saying it so many times that finally she was like, Mom,
I don't know what that means. You have to explain
it to me. But Mike k never heard. Uh, she'd
never heard the term playing hooky? Is that like old
which I don't.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Is that when you know that you're a generation? It's
funny because playing hooky to me is right away, I
know exactly what that means, But it's funny.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
I don't even know where that comes from.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
It's funny that we still use it nowadays, because I
feel like we could find out that one day that
that was racist or side, don't.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
I don't think it.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
God, I hope it's not. If it is already, so sorry,
I'm not aware.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Said it go all the way back to the mid
to late eighteen hundreds. Okay, chances is rac.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
No all kind Okay, well that is not my intention whatsoever.
But you guys know this. My kids are busy kids.
They're in fifth grade and first grade, and they play
all the sports and they you know, they do all
the things. And I try to make sure that there's
some time and some downtime in there, but sometimes it
gets overwhelming, and so after school there's always something Like

(01:34):
you guys have seen my calendar. It's all color coded
with who's going where and what they have and you
know whatever, all their appointments. But on beautiful weather days,
I think it's tough because you've been at school all day. Yeah,
you want to come home and you want to do nothing.
You don't want to you want to go outside and
play with your friends or whatever. So my friend Lindsay

(01:56):
was taking my son Smith to his lacrosse practice. I
was supposed was to take Lucy to a swim team practice,
and so we're getting ready. I packed her bag. We're
in the car. We're you know, backing out of the driveway,
and she looked at me with tears in her eyes
and she was like, Mom, I just want to spend
time with you and not go to swim. And in

(02:18):
my head I'm like, oh my gosh's part of a team.
I got teachers. You know, she made a commitment.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Da da da.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
But also it was a beautiful day and I'm like, done,
we're skipping swim, We're playing hooky. We went to one
of our favorite restaurants. We both sat at the bar.
They let her sit at the bar, which I thought
was great, and we ate their bread basket and she
had a big Shirley temple. Actually I think she had three,
and I had a glass of wine. And it was
the best afternoon ever and the greatest memory. Although now

(02:43):
I'm like, did I did I shoot myself in the butt?
Because now she's like, I'm sorry, I did get shot
in the ass one time by a baby gun, but
that's a story for another day. No, But like now
she knows what that's all about, and she knows that

(03:04):
it's a possibility. But it was really fun, Like it's
nice to just you know.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Play hooky.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Did I did I.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Yeah, you're gonna play hooky and she's gonna do this
and you're gonna get the phone.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Call from school.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Well this wasn't a school thing.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
No, I know, Lucy didn't show up today and she's
gonna say Mom told me I could play.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Taught me.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, I'm taught this.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Sometimes I feel like if Josiah plays that, I just
want to be with you cart oh.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Time.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
These kids, by the way, are way smarter than we
were when we were kids. First off, if we said
that to our parents, they would feel our forehead to
see if we had a.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Fever's oh not even that. If I had a fever,
I was still going to school or doing my activity
unless I was throwing up or bleeding somewhere right badly.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
My parents would be like, you want to spend time
with me. I remember one morning I was so sick.
I had to be like in the sixth grade or
something like that, sick as hell, and I got my
uniform and that's all about to go to school.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
I am. I'm at that point. I throw up. My
mom like, all right, it looks.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Like you got it out of you go to school
like I was magically healed. Yeah, went to school, threw
up like eight times. You finally came and got me, like, Tyler,
what's up?

Speaker 2 (04:14):
First time?

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Long time?

Speaker 2 (04:21):
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (04:22):
I guess hooky comes from the Dutch meeting.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Oh okay.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
I don't even know how to say the word if
it's hoji spelling, but it means to play hide or
seek or play in a corner.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Okay, because when when there's whenever there's any of these things,
I always feel like it goes back to slavery and
it's like they hooked up some slave or something like that.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
And honestly that's where it comes.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I mean, and there's so many times where we say
these sayings or these sayings go up and we find
out that they're really bad.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
You know. Picnic? What picnic is another one too. You
can't say picnic? Do your research? Are you.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
It was?

Speaker 2 (05:03):
If it was racist? Wait, you cannot have a picnic anymore.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
I mean there are ideas now obviously I don't know
if any of this can be debunked or it can
be verified, but picnic comes from you know, you can
break down the word if you want, Radio nick all
the N word exactly. Okay, All right, Wow, I did
not know that. So so let me ask you, uh,

(05:28):
black friend of mine, what do you call it when
you pack a basket and go ahead? Sandwiches in a park?
Carbolo Cuban cuisine?

Speaker 2 (05:38):
What do you call it? Though? If you say one
kind of blanket?

Speaker 5 (05:43):
All right?

Speaker 2 (05:43):
I don't know, because I know I've always wondered, like
what is it? Then?

Speaker 5 (05:47):
That?

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Like?

Speaker 2 (05:47):
What was it called? Did you guys? Ever? Did you
ever use the word picnic before? Who is you? Guys?

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Like?

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah, you're speaking for them right now?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
So give me give me some advice, No, because I
don't know, because I want It's interesting when when you
find out the definition of origins of where it came from.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
I said something recently on this show that I had
no idea was offensive to gypsies. Do you remember the
word I use? Oh yeah, yeah yeah, And I felt
horrible but I had no idea.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I know, but dyke was a bad thing.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Well, you're not supposed to say it if you know
it's a bad thing. I didn't say the word that
I just said.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Hold on a second, what's going on? It comes from
the Spell It Out book? What's going on?

Speaker 5 (06:32):
In Eric?

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (06:34):
It's so funny.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
You guys are talking about this.

Speaker 6 (06:36):
I literally just text my son and said, Hey, tomorrow's
the early release. You want to skip school because I.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Feel like kids need a pt O day.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
Just like I agree with you freely give them, I
freely give them to him and say, hey, you want
to you want to pick it up early. You want
to stay home because we can stay home and we
can do the fun ourselves at home.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
I used to love when my mom would tell me
that we were going to have a game show day
and we would watch nothing but the TV game shows
that were on, like we would because on TV during
the day it was always that. And then I would
watch all of her stories on ABC, all my Children,
General Hospital.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
I'm going to tell you something that these kids are
so scheduled, and what are they gonna remember. They're gonna
you're gonna remember that game show day with your mom
more than you remember going to school or whatever. Now,
it can't happen all the time, but.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
She knew.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
My mom at that point knew she had cancer and
that it was terminal. So at that point right there,
it was like, no school is going to take her
away from her Christian what's up?

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Hey? I actually had an accounment about the word picnic. Yes,
so actually it's that's false. It is not a racial
slur or anything regarding that time era. It's actually from
a work called al Fresco, which is as part of
excursion of you know, scenic surrounding. Okay, and you have lunch.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
So we can still have a good with them, all right,
for sure?

Speaker 7 (07:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Man, you good?

Speaker 5 (08:00):
What about.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Stop?

Speaker 5 (08:04):
No?

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Actually, a couple of lesbians, including Nina, says it's okay.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
She's fine. It's fine with her. Sorry, So you're hold on.
Andrea's in the car with as she calls it, who.

Speaker 7 (08:17):
Andrea, I'm in the car right now with my little manipulator.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
And trying to get you to do you know, school today?

Speaker 7 (08:27):
Oh not Well, when she heard you talk about it, yes,
but but normally it's.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Like you hear she's laughing in the background.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
Normally it's Mom, I just want to smuggle in bed
with you all day. Can we keep working school today?

Speaker 3 (08:40):
And so yeah, that's how she gets.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
By the way, she's going to be snuggling for five
seconds until the video game that she wants to play,
the face.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
You're exactly right.

Speaker 7 (08:50):
I fall back asleep and she gets on her games.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
My favorite is Luke would do this and he would
be home and he'd be playing games against Evan and
all these other guys. All the other kids would do
the same thing the day, Yes, and they would all
be home and be like Luke, Evan and Landon. And
I'm like, do the parents not talk to each other
and figure it out that the kids are all trying
to take a day off?

Speaker 2 (09:11):
What's up? Natalie?

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Hi?

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Natalie, Hey, Hi.

Speaker 7 (09:16):
So so my wife and I did IVF. Yes, And
there is actually for the donors, there is a number
of family units that they cannot surpass.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Oh you're going back to when I was talking about
this the U Okay, yeah, yeah, Mojo gives you a baby, yes,
so there so there's there's only so many uh uh
kids that can be come from one particular dad.

Speaker 7 (09:41):
So they call it a family unit. So once you've
had a baby with that donor, you're considered one of
their family units and you can have as many kids
in your family unit. But there's only so many family
units that can be had with each other.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
All right, here's a question for you, Natalie. Okay, your
choices Mojo, keV or Zach attack or what do you
call him? No, Zach Zach mojokev or Zach.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Mojo v lost. You can have my baby anytime you want.

Speaker 7 (10:21):
To, Okay, Okay.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
All right, so if you you tell, and tell the
entire family, okay, tell everybody, Tell everybody that's a member
of the family.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
By the way, go back to the question about Butcher dyke.
Is it okay to say butch dyke? Or no? Sorry,
my phone is no long being recorded?

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Sorry phone, hello recording attack one to attack one too.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
No, that's okay. I do that all the time.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
I push it all the time, and people think, because
it's on the for the iPhone users, you can hit
it with your face. I always mute my phone too
with my fat cheeks, and I end up doing it
and people think I'm trying to secretly record them.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Yeah, well it's sneaky. We'll talk to you later, Natalie,
