Speaker 1 (00:00):
What a win last night.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
By the way, anybody that was following us on social
media got a chance to see this. Uh Lydia Bianca,
Anna rob and Colleen Grant, the executive president of Detroit.
iHeart uh and uh. All the people that were there
last night at MotorCity Soundboards saw little Shannon Murphy win.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
What way trophy or Shanny? I think the trophy that.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
What did the she did call me maybe the Carl
Ray Jebson hit song. And the wildest thing was that
I was getting text messages from probably about no less
than ten people that were there, including Nick Thomas and
Paul Glance from the Imagine, and they were sending me
text messages. And the best was, you know Paul Lance,

(00:56):
Who's I will say this to you. Paul Lands to
me is like the Huefner of Detroit. You know what
I mean, if.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
You don't know you had a good thing. Yeah, he
wears like ascots and he's cool. Oh by the way,
he dresses not by the company.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yes, yeah, he's got he's got one bunny and that's
his beautiful wife, missus plant. But he was sending me
text messages and he you know how he speaks Paul
speaks very proper and he said she was fire, and
I go, hold on, somebody stole Paul Lance's phone.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Was that amazing?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
So tell me guys, tell me Anna and tell me
Bianca and Lydia.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
What was what's the deal? What? What did she look like?

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Who wants to start?

Speaker 1 (01:41):
She she looked like a rock star. She did an
excellent job.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
I think that she had one of the best performances.
I mean I've ever seen in general.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Wow, I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
Shannon also looked like one of the teenage dancers.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
She looked. She did.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yeah, she was amazing. And she held up our phone number,
which I thought was like such a cool.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Eight four Mojo Lives. Let's go Sana.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
They got the crowd cheering.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
It made me so excited.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
So if anyone saw that sign out at the New
Day lip Sync Battle, you have to call us up now.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
So I have a quick question for you. I have
known Shannon for gosh, double digit years. I mean it's
a long time. I never knew that Shannon was a
dancer because I would see her kind of shaking her
booty on dance floors at some of our parties that
we've had and I got to be quite honest with you,
I kind of thought that Shannon her rhythm was never

(02:35):
like the you know, spectacular she had rhythm last night,
Like that was pretty amazing.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
Yeah, it was crazy. Everyone was like very in sync too,
But Shannon, she was like kicking her leg up in
the air. She was like do some tricks.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Wait, we have to shout out her dance crew's moms
like they were all there and the crowd going crazy.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
It was a whole pack.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
It was awesome.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Jo did the dance his cruise moms like make so
much noise that it got everybody going or because this
was when I saw the video, it looked like the
crowd was as into it as some of these moms
probably were into it.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Honestly, credit to Shannon and Wes for literally thinking of everything.
So before Shannon even performed, Wes was walking around with
like light up like I don't even know what they are.
They're like little foam Like yeah, they're like the foam
one they passed. We passed them out to the whole crowd,
So like she was doing things that nobody else did.
Like the attention to detail was very good.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Yes, he was hype man for for Shannon yesterday. That's amazing.
So is he like the is he like the the
husbandager like you know how they have like you always have,
like your manager that kind of runs around.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yeah, Andy killed it.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
He was taking pictures of everybody. He was directing us
where to go. He's like, okay, it's time for you
guys to come backstage. Time, you guys can come back.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
He was running it.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
But one performance though, I'm not gonna lie, I would
not watch that next to my parents.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
It was a little.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
It was three guys dressed up as Michael Jackson and
they kept doing the little Michael Jackson dance where you
just grab your crotch and just like, you.

Speaker 6 (04:07):
Know, I don't know what it is Michael when he
does okay, okay.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Probably for two minutes straights Michael Jackson a little crotch thing.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Very attractive men there. Yeah, it was hot.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
They're dancing the crowd and stuff.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
He was a former NFL in Herman Moore. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no,
who was it you? TJ? Yeah, but this was my thing.
Like I think he was free balling it. I yeah,
it was insane.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Things were flying around like it was not PG.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
There their shirts. Mike Morris is covering his eyes. There
was like there was a point I noticed they weren't
even lipsticking anymore. They were just dancing.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
It's not like magic, Mike, That's what it felt like. Wow, Okay,
so well, I want to know. I always liked the
radio gossip too. How did the other radio shows look
that were there and and give us gossip on how
everybody I was? It's so funny whenever you go to
these events, and for those that have been in radio
for just a short time, like Anna and even honestly

(05:11):
uh Bianca and and you know you've been in you
know obviously working at the station and stuff. When radio
stations get together that don't fall under the same roof
like the other stations in the building in the company,
like or the like Odyssey stations, people are so weird
with each other, but they don't they don't even talk
to each other. How was the intermixing between our people

(05:33):
and the people that worked at Odyssey or Cumulus or
what other other companies were there?

Speaker 5 (05:38):
I think there was one?

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Was it your think?

Speaker 4 (05:41):
I think you're thinking of Jackie Page? Was Robin HOLLI
Robin Holly were there as well?

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yeah, the Robin Holly are like this.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
They're the syndicated UH country show that's on all the country.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
A Mountain High.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yeah, so they did.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
They put on a whole theatrical show, had mount I props,
took off her wig like she was just doing a
whole theatrical performance.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
It was amazing and it wasn't good enough.

Speaker 6 (06:07):
And Shannon, Baby, I'm proud of Shannon. Look, Shannon is
one of the most dedicated people I've ever come to,
not only to meet, but get to know. Like when
she signs up to do something, you're not just getting
half of her, getting all of her. So to see her,
you know, not only truly care about New Day and
the foundation and the family that she was up there

(06:28):
fighting for, but to care about her performance and wanting
to win and like.

Speaker 5 (06:33):
Fifty minutes to her dance practice. Yeah, it was so much.
And last year she was doing it with other people again,
and the show she did by herself and.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
She's doing Yeah. But can I say something though.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
You bring up a really good point about how much
she put it in for it, and she did it
for herself.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
She didn't do it for herself.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
She did it for the young boy that she was
playing for and I'm going to tell you this, when
from the moment that she got teamed up with him
and she got a chance to spend time with him
and spend time with his mom, this was something that
was from Shannon's heart that I think that she was like,
I gotta do something big for him, and I think
that her goal was to get more spotlight on him
and his story and his healing. And our prayers go

(07:11):
out to h to aj and to the entire family.
And that's pretty awesome.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
Man.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
All the people that that went yesterday and did that,
shout out to them, because I gotta be honest with you.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
You got more guts than I do.

Speaker 6 (07:22):
No, no, no, no, You're gonna have goods because we're
doing it next year.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
We don't need to.

Speaker 6 (07:26):
No, can't do it, Frank Stone, I need you.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
You can't. Yes, you can't top what top what happened yesterday.
I think that the mojo of the morning show is
just retired from now.

Speaker 6 (07:41):
You're not using it as you excuse to get out
of me. That's what you're trying to do. You're not
pulling the wool over my eyes. We're going back next year.
We're defending the title and we're going back to back.
I'm sorry, I think we just retired. I think Shannon
came bound. Shannon announced, you got to talk to this man.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Tanya Lalan can do it. You can do it. It
was also amazing. Does Tanya have rhythm? She can? She
do it?

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Yes, she does a great job.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
I thought she had like a mullet wig like a.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Suit.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
What song she did?

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Some rock and roll thing? Rock?

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Okay, I want to.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Take some rock and roll. That's like the rock and rolls.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Her kids were sitting at our table though. It was
super cool to meet them and they were talking all
about jingle Ball and how they were excited to be
backstage with us.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Yes, that's awesome, man, that's cool. All right.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Great job to Gina and everybody over a New Day
Foundation and what New Day Foundation does. Some people don't
know what they do, but you need to know more
about them because they help out families of those that
are diagnosed with cancer, help them pay their bills so
that when their lives get turned upside down by the diagnosis,

(08:57):
that their financial situent situation doesn't get turned upside down
by the diagnosis. So in firsthand breakdownary Christmas wishes helped
with New Day a bunch of times, they've introduced us
to some unbelievable stories.
