Speaker 1 (00:00):
I saw something yesterday that was wild. So I was
in the gym parking lot. Believe it or not, I
went to the gym to work out.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Oh yeah, I thought you'd be honest.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
I'm sore today. I'm a little sore today. Yes, I'm competing,
by the way, in the next Olympics. I just want
you to know that. And what's your what's your leg wrestling? Yes,
I'm gonna I am a world class legs leg wrestler
one two, three? Ever do that where you lift your
legs up and you have to do the three thing
and then you have leg wrestle. I'll wrestle after this topic.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
I yes, do it?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Come on? I think should social please? I'm a gold
medalist at that. So I witnessed something in the parking
lot which I thought was pretty crazy. I witnessed what
I thought was somebody just getting their car toad, only
to realize it was somebody getting their car repode. And
I was shocked to see this. And I was telling

(00:51):
the story to a couple of our car dealership advertisers
that I had saw this because I talked yesterday to
a couple of the people from Gordon and I talked
to the Steve over at ZOD and they were telling
me that they're in Michigan. There's a record number of
car repossessions happening where people you know, aren't paying their

(01:11):
car payments or can't pay their car payments and their
cars are getting repossessed. So I wanted to bring this
up as a topic on the air because I've always
heard stories about the repullman, but it was the first
time that I've ever witnessed the repo man going in
and taking taking the car, and it made me start thinking,
I wonder if we have any listeners that are listening

(01:32):
to the show that I've either a had their car repossessed,
and what did you come out to, like an empty
parking spot or an empty you know, you know driveway
or b Who right now is afraid of the repoeman
and who is hiding from the repo man right now
as we speak. Eight four to four Mojo Live eight

(01:55):
four four six sixty five sixty five four eight text
nine five five zero zero. And are there any repoeman
that are listening? That's top five scariest jobs alive to
be a repollman.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
You think that those guys get shot at bro could
you imagine I would think they're robbing me. Come on right,
like that is your job is to at whatever time
in the day to go to someone's I guess primarily
their house or wherever the car is located, because sometimes
they had the little locator Jackson there.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Wait what yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
I had a girl staying at the crib. This is
years back at a girl staying at the crib. Long
story Short, it's the morning time she's supposed to leave.
She leaves out the apartment.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
She leaves out.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
I'm on the first floor, leaves out my apartment, walks
out the door. I'm thinking she gone. All of a sudden,
I get a call like, can you buzz me back in?
Come open the door. I come open the door. Lost
ry Short. They don't repot her car while she was
at my house, bro, somebody had to come get her. Wait,
you didn't even drive her home early I had things.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
That's what is uber for. I have to take her home?
Why take her home in the first place. You deliver
the goods, and I deliver goods too. They don't have
to alert you that they're taking your car.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
They don't want to alert you. So I'm saying after
they've taken it. They don't say like, your car is
now in our possession.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Nobody text.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
They got a confirmation email with the Trekking.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
They're doing that kind of courtesy.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Miranda, what's going on. It's Mojo in the morning and
we're talking about the repo man and all these cars
getting repossessed and seeing that yesterday. What's up?

Speaker 6 (03:46):
So we went into Well, first, my husband has having
lots of problems with this car and they wouldn't come
out and fix it, so he stop paying. We went
in to have our baby at the hospital and we
came home and there was no car.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 6 (04:03):
They never alerted us that they was coming. They never
massaged justice tell us they took it. We just came
home and it was gone.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
No, you say that you were having problems with the car,
so you guys used to stop stop paying on the thing.
Were you happy just to see the car gone seeing
that the car was a pain in paint in the
butt for.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
You guys, or no, I mean it was a pain
in the butt. So we were glad it was gone,
but at the same time we still had to continue
to pay.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Oh jeez, okay, thank god. It wasn't the car you
drove to the hospital. Right? Oh yeah, that's definitely what's happening.
Justin how you doing.

Speaker 7 (04:40):
Too bad?

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Justin tell everybody when you got your car repossessed?

Speaker 7 (04:45):
Oh well, you know, I was going through some hard
times and she couldn't make the payment. So it was
around Christmas time and I woke up Christmas Eve and
we were supposed to go to a Christmas party and
I walked out My truck was gone, no idea was
ready to load up all the stuff. And you know,
I had to explain to my wife in the moment.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Oh so she didn't have any clue that you hadn't
been paying on it.

Speaker 7 (05:10):
I had no idea.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
So question for you, uh, and this is maybe not
for you, for the REPO people, do they take your
personal belongings there?

Speaker 2 (05:18):
I was going to ask, but if you had gifts
in the car or something?

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Oh really, So if.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
They see you, I guess they might ask you if
you have any personal items in there. But I think
they just took the truck.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
And wow, crazy Terrence, what's going on? I still want
to talk to a REPO person. If you're somebody that's
a REPO person, will you call us up because Kap
brings up a really interesting point of do you do
you guys, you know, get people like that to attack
you or go after you. What's up, Terrence.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Paris?

Speaker 4 (05:47):
How you doing?

Speaker 6 (05:48):
Uh?

Speaker 8 (05:48):
Yeah, I had my car repote at a mall taking
my son to get some jeans in a movie. But
I was just behind in payments. But yeah, if you
have personal items in your car and you called repo
man or the company, they would allow you to go
to your car and get your personal items out of.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
How do you But how do you know who to call?
I mean, what did they do? Do they call? Did
they leave you something? Or like they no?

Speaker 8 (06:11):
I called the police first, and the police pulled my
license plate up and they said, yeah, your cars repol
because the REPO people called the police when your car
is tagged. So I would sell them that first.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
How many payments are you behind? Because I always wonder
like how many payments will it take? Buying by two
three months?

Speaker 7 (06:32):
Then when you see the person, they were real.

Speaker 8 (06:35):
They wasn't forgiving.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
But this was like a couple of years ago.

Speaker 8 (06:38):
I'm good now, but these a couple of years ago,
and it really affected me and my son because it
was going to the movie. I was taking them shopping.

Speaker 9 (06:44):
And we come out after the mall and cars going like, dang,
somebody stole my car.

Speaker 7 (06:47):
That had weaponry in there have all my oh wow,
there that was registered.

Speaker 8 (06:55):
So they did allow me to go get the rest
of my stuff, so it would be uh, you know, confiscated.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Yeah, that doesn't seem like a very long time like
I would think think it would be like six months
to a year or something like that. Kayla, Kayla is
currently hiding from the repo. Man, how are you hiding
your car?

Speaker 9 (07:14):
Well, I'm tellings car right now and I'm hiding from
the repo, just leaving it in her garage.

Speaker 10 (07:22):
Yeah, okay, they can't open your garage to get it.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Okay, the wait wait wait not wait, by the way,
sound like vond what I was saying. Okay, I was
like saying, why did I say it like that? But
that's interesting. I did not I did not know that.

Speaker 9 (07:35):
Yeah, they come like at the door in night time
or early morning, so I normally just you know, make
sure it's hitting around that time so they can't find it.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
And I'm assuming with all these cars having GPS systems
on them that the GPS systems give away where your
car is. They probably know it's in your sister's garage,
wouldn't they Right.

Speaker 9 (07:58):
They can't break in, Yeah, but they.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Can't go in there.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
But make sure you cover up all the windows.

Speaker 9 (08:03):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 10 (08:04):
Why because if they see it inside, they can call
the place and have the police come to say that
you have to like open it up.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
So you got to cover up the windows.

Speaker 9 (08:10):
Say no face, no case, no car, no case.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Don't you guys all want to know why Megan knows
so much?

Speaker 10 (08:16):
I mean, I I've never had a card repo than
God like knock on Wood. I used to love the
show Rebom like it was Rebo Wars or Rebo something like.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
I used to watch the hell out of that show. Really,
Oh yeah, because it's scary.

Speaker 10 (08:34):
People get angry, people run and try to jump into
the car because you can't tell it if there's a
person in it, Like there are people.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
That operation Repo.

Speaker 10 (08:43):
Yeah, and there's a guy on TikTok who does it
and it's sneaky as hell and I love it.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Interesting. Man, I'm learning more and more just from I
got to start watching more TV.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Like texts are like going crazy.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Right, now about this. Listen to Maggie here, Maggie, Hey,
where were you when your car got repolled? We were
at Disney World. Oh my gosh. Well do you think
they saw your social media and they're like, she's spending
ten thousand dollars a day to be at Disney World.
She can afford to pay her car payment.

Speaker 11 (09:15):
No, we were.

Speaker 9 (09:16):
I was going through the boards and I was like,
at present was core in order to pay the car payments?

Speaker 7 (09:20):
And he did not.

Speaker 9 (09:21):
Oh yo, did think you get that on purpose so
this would happen? Oh no, he did all purpose. He
knew when we were.

Speaker 8 (09:29):
He never said a thing.

Speaker 9 (09:29):
But they did not give us back our stuff at all.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Wow, that's what's a terrible situation.

Speaker 11 (09:35):
Yeah, they sold the car at auction.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Yep. Oh man, hold on, we've got Lydia is like
shaking like crazy in the other room. Do you see her.
She's like when she's got a good call, she she
shakes like our lovely Lydia, she's the angel of the show.

Speaker 5 (09:51):
But we know and then's got to shake some brazy ass.

Speaker 11 (09:54):
Right, Yeah, I'm shaking some breezy ass.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Yeah there you go. Yeah, thank you, Dody. See initial
see are you there? You're being voice disguised. Uh see,
you've been hiding your car for how long? Right now?
From the repo man?

Speaker 9 (10:13):
About ten and a half months?

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Whoa what kind of car is it's going? Okay? And
how are you hiding it? And where are you hiding it?

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Well, I've paid it in like two different grudges, and
it's got a new paint job on it, and I've
took the badges off of it.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Oh my god, So you actually made it look different
so that they can't even man, it has a disguise
on it. That's unbelievable. Just like his voice, he's disguising
his car. Okay. And so this has been for for
gosh a long time that you've been doing this.

Speaker 10 (10:50):
Huh yeah, like ten and a half month, almost a year.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
Thousand dollars a month?

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Oh jeez, what the hell are you doing paying a
thousand dollars a month? That was a bad deal. You
got hold on, Hold on one second, stay right there.
I'm gonna leave you right there, becuse I'm gonna come
back to you because I got Kevin, the repo man
on with us. Kevin, he's been hiding from you for
a year. Did you hear that.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
Oh yeah, I mean will either eventually find it or
to they'll just start levying a bank account paycheck.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
But is that a genius move on his part to
change the badges on the vehicle and paint job and
all that stuff. Will you guys like not even look
at a car that you don't think is the right
color car?

Speaker 9 (11:35):
I mean the.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
Color it can always be wrong, but I mean it's definitely.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
You cut out there for a second. It's definitely what Oh, it.

Speaker 11 (11:46):
Definitely make it harder for us.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Wow, that is wildness, man. I'm just I'm blown away
by the way. Have you ever had anybody shoot at
you that you were repossessing a car from?

Speaker 5 (11:58):
No, I've been doing this about ten years now and
i haven't had a single gun shot at me. I've
had a lot of them in my face, and I've
I need Do you carry.

Speaker 8 (12:11):
No?

Speaker 5 (12:11):
Uh, A lot of the repossession insurances won't let us
carry in our truck. Okay, just a liability, you know, Kevin.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
I got a question for you. Are you like a
bounty hunter?

Speaker 6 (12:21):
Like?

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Do you get paid per repo or do you get
like a base rate?

Speaker 4 (12:26):
I get paid, So you gotta get how many repolls
you average in a month, Like, what's what's the question?

Speaker 9 (12:35):
Right?

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Oh my god.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
I work mainly in the Toledo area, but most of
northwestern Ohio and Monroe away.

Speaker 10 (12:48):
Kevin, be honest, where are the most repos Oh?

Speaker 5 (12:53):
Where are they are?

Speaker 6 (12:54):
I mean.

Speaker 11 (12:56):
I have I'm also the agent manager for my company.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
We have usually a thousand repols a month, and I
usually have I'm usually in the top three of those agencies.

Speaker 10 (13:06):
Oh geez, I better not leave behind any DNA because
somebody's gonna do some voodoo on you.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Well, I would have died if you would have said Perry's.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Burg, Hey, which is what? For those that are listening
across the world, that's the nice, nicest area in Ohio,
well out.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Of what Hills is. But Perrysburg thinks they're out of the.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Hills real quick. I gotta grab Roy the repo man,
Roy the repull.

Speaker 11 (13:30):
Man, Yes, right there, Yeah, Hey, I'm not a repol man,
but our finance manaerds are at a car dealership.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Okay, I'm sorry, boy, you just ruined it for me. Thanks.
Don't know. He's got a great story, you hear it?
Tell us the repost story we had.

Speaker 11 (13:47):
We were putting GPS's in the car, so we knew
where the cars were. And this one customer wasn't making
their payment, so we hired this repul company, kind of
a shady repol company, if they're not shady ones anyway.
So they went out to pick up the car. Twelve
o'clock at night. He calls me and says, hey, I
got your repall. I said great, I said, bring it
back to the lot. He goes, what do you want
me to do with the kid in the backseat?

Speaker 1 (14:09):
You're lying?

Speaker 11 (14:13):
See the kid the lady. The lady went out the
starter car, went back in the house. They pulled off,
the car was running. They just jumped in the car
and drove it off. Looked in the back seat and
there was a baby in her heart seat.

Speaker 7 (14:26):
Take the car back.

Speaker 11 (14:27):
So they took the car back, dropped it off, got
back in a truck and pulled down the street. She
came out of the house, got in her car and
drove off like she didn't even know anything happen.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
