But before we say great games, we had two great
women's games last night. Also that Anthony's gonna get to George,
so Anney, I'm gonna thought to you so we can
get the national So everybody knows what happened. And of
course Kentucky's lost Auburn Louis's win against Pittsburgh for.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
The women's game.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
High school games, we're gonna Anthony hit us with that Georgian.
Then we're gonna jump right into this thing. So go ahead, Anthony.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Of course, obviously a lot went on in the last
couple of days over the weekend as well, even for
the high school side, we had a lot of the
district championships going on. Moving on into this week, they're
going into the seventh region. These seventh regions games aren't
single elimination, and that goes for anti region as well,
not just seventh. So in the districts, teams that did

(06:33):
win their first game and lost their second game were
allowed to advance to the seventh region. The only ones
that didn't advance were the ones that lost the first game.
So the massups that we do have coming up this Tuesday,
March fourth, for the seventh region, we have Afterton that
ballot will be playing at seventh PM. In the seventh region,
we have Central at Saint Xavier at seven pm as well.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
It's a tough on, George.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
It is a tough one. That's a hard first game.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
We watched them, George, against.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
The Mayo and they're good. That's everest. That's all up here.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
All up, that's all up, George exactly.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Coach Cline's team is prime and ready to go, so
godly continue a lot of good games. But hey, George,
new coach at Central, like we always say, all great
job for getting them into the region, improving his team.
They have improved from the beginning of the year. So
I look at I'm looking forward to seeing Central next time.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
I am go ahead and I say this, So Jeff Well,
I cut you off and I'm sorry, but uh, you
don't want to deal with me at Central Wensdas game though.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
All without it, George, I'll be happy to know Central
beat them, beat them. That's the dark side. Sorry, Coach Cline.
I love you Jackson. He's got great players with George.
I'm pulling for Central.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Oh, I'm glad we need all we.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Hey, George, because John Carney, you gotta understand, George, it's
personal Cartney's galleries. He loves George. He bought me a
coke at the Oriels after they beat Ballad. He said,
come on, I got your little brother. I said, God,
this hurts, this really hurts this Ballad Ballacexaer, this really
hurts George.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
People don't know that was like bad.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Let me Kentucky all time.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Ballad I was. I was salty the whole time I
was there.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
So go ahead into the.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I did beat him out of that, George, thank you.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Don't let him know that, George, don't let him know
he might be another one anyway, go ahead here.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Of course.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
And then obviously the other two games that we have was, well,
we have Christian Academy of Louisville at Trinity that we're
playing at seven pm as well, and then we'll have
the game that is supposed to be the game of
the week. They'll be kicking off Tuesday, Manuel at Male
High School at seven pm as well.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
George, talk about coach Coot.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Coach Coleman again, any tell him that game again?

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Well, department Manuel at Male High School on Tuesday's way.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Talk about coach Coleman, George, you know him really well.
Talk about coach Coleman at Manual.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Oh, well, coach Coleman, a former former Cential graduate, great athlete,
UH football player and basketball player Jerry you know, and
he's taking on the Manual team. He started as center
as a coach, you know, he moved over to Manual
and he's a great athlete and a great rome day.
He does a lot for the young men, and not
only I think he's king.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
To you exactly, your thank your brother. I wanted to
make sure you get that in exactly and has done
a fantastic job with that team.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
George, that is the game of games.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
I may go to repeat it.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
I'm going, Yes, I told Anthony, I may go to
that game. First half Ballard, second half. Atherton's gonna play ballad.
I just want people to know Atherton's gonna play Ballad.
It's gonna be a good game. So George at Ballard,
you got that right? How put you announced that at
Valid Nation. I'm taking care of the officials, hey, George.

(10:06):
Before I let Anthony go further, everyone, I want to
again congratulations to my Simmons Falcons women. George. They have
now qualified for the national tournament for the third year
in a row. So we'll be going to Minneapolis again
this year. Next Tuesday. Wednesday, the team pulls out. They
play on Thursday, so I will be in Minneapolis, not
the a SEC tournament next year next week. Excuse me, George,

(10:31):
Tony Branch and my men. Oh it just it killed me. George.
They lose. We have two shots at the buzzer, a
tip in and a layup. Both of them roll off.
We lose by one. George to Harritsburg. Congratulations Harritsburg fifty
six to fifty five George.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
And a great game.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Oh so I wanted both teams to go so bad,
but toy, I mean, what a great game. And George,
I thought both shots were going to go in and
both rolled off.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Both rolled off.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
I just was like, man, So anyway, congratulations it is George.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
It really is again.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yep, yeah, I mean inch George inches, and George, I'm
not going to Yes, I am George Williams. I didn't
at the game. I swear to everybody listening I didn't.
I congratulated everybody, George, both coaches and lect directors that
I'll tell you, George, we got robbed.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
George.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
I'm gonna show you the last play. My wife will
tell you. Everybody there they knew it. George, they killed
the guy tipping the ball in rest run off the floor.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Was unbelievable, George, unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Not saying we would have won the game, but we
should have had the opportunity to shoot two free throws. George,
when you see the player, you're not gonna believe. It
doesn't mean we would have won the game. We could
have missed both free throws. I want everybody to understand
that I told the team this, but the bottom line
is that we were supposed to have opportunity to shoot.
At George, it's they whistled and spread it off the floor.
It was crazy. They're entire team knew it. Their coach

(12:05):
knew it. It happens, so people, it happens in sports.
With Tony Branch took it first class. No anything, I mean,
no wine and no yelling at the rest of us.
They spread it off. He shook hands with the other coach.
We all did. We celebrated their victory, but George Simmons
should have had a chance to tire with the game.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
That's all.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
It doesn't mean they'd have made the free throws. People,
that's why want you have to play the game. But
they should have shot free throw, no events, but George,
So anyway.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Well, two things I got to say about that, Jerry.
The first one, we know, when you play it in
somebody else's gym, you know who the advantage goes to.
You know what I mean? Yes, okay. And the second
thing I got to say, I'm glad that Tony Branch
is the coach and not the original coach being the
coach because there may have been words in the locker room.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
I got too much of Newburgh and me George Georgiana
chased him in the locker room. Tony Branches, I've always
told everybody you talk about first class, a great guy
as Tony Branch. I mean, there's all there's to it, George,
I have to chase him in the locker room.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
I mean that.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Wait, I'm gonna show you the play, George. You're not
gonna believe it. People, I'm not kidding you. I'm not
talking about a love tap. It was close, George. When
you see the play, you're not gonna believe it. Telling
you you you as I.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Don't think I can say Batman is. I'm glad you
got miss Eve to save you because your first two
or three years, bro, you didn't realize you was in
the church league. Man, you didn't show you.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
I did not, George, I did not.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
Boy, I'm not gonna lie on that.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Hey, George, everybody knows I've never got after Coach Fatino
first language. I told people my language was not the
biggest I never ever said. That's why when people jump
on coach, you don't hear me say I'm a church mouse.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
And in George, I'm sitting over there, who they talking about?
They talking about? Because George, you'll never hear me say that.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
No, but no, George was glad quit wearing your glasses.
Cause some glasses. I think it made you say words
that you normally don't say.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
I would be flicking them things off. George.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Oh gosh, I had a great time, Georgia. The most
fun I ever had was coaching in Simmons mostly. Yeah,
I mean the seven years I coached there. Oh, I
had a ball, George, and I love my kids. I've
got people in houses now, George, great job, it's really growing.
I told you on Frank Harshaw, you never can do
it by yourself. Richard Pickering Republic Bank Park Community Credit Union,

(14:30):
you can't do it by yourself. Leenn, Chris Brown. Chris
Brown has really helped it. Llenn, you know a lot
of people don't. I got Louisville ties and Chris does
a great job for us. So everybody is truly helping
with our young people, and I'm happy. So anyway, George,
that's all's Anny. We got a caller, So let's get
to caller.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Anthony.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
You hold because when we come back in after the caller,
we'll get you. Johnny, Welcome to the show.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
How are you hey, morning, Jered? How are you? Oh?

Speaker 5 (15:01):
I was standing Hey, how's everybody doing at the studio.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
I'm in my basement. I'm not at the studio.

Speaker 5 (15:09):
Well, I'm at nothing's happening today, but just calling in. Uh.
Adrian and Butler Bears won their district. Adrian Wilder maybe
all district team, so they got purn Creek Wednesday night.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
You go.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
I like you.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
I like your Butler Bears team. I seen them two
or three times this year, and I really like the
way they play together, and I like the way they
moved the bar. I see him at the PIP game,
I think several other times. But they look dark, they
look sharp. Yeah, yeah, I don't know how after they
beat After they.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Beat farn Creek, I'm not sure what's next. How does
that go?

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Jerry?

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Oh, well, the next game was the advanced to the
finals of the region. All they have to do, Okay,
isn't it two games? I'm sure it's two games? And
then they're today turny game. So they're in the sixth region.
They're in the sixth.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Yes, correct, Yeah, you've got the district Okay, gotcha? So yes,
so that's how that goes.

Speaker 5 (16:09):
We all right, so that'd be so after they be
have one more game and then they play in the finals.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Yes, let me see, I've got it right here. I
really don't say. Let me find this for you.

Speaker 4 (16:21):
Great question.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Advance the sixth region tournament with the chance to repeat hunt.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
What's that? Your women are good?

Speaker 4 (16:27):
All the expert and do you have yet?

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Do you have all the brackets in front.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
I do not have all the brackets in front of
me right now?

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Okay, see, yeah, I met them out. No, you've got
six region boys, Jaytown twenty six, twenty three and six,
Butler's twenty four and four. They go through fern Creek. Yeah,
first round, then Paradel at Jatown at seven pm.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
That's your issue.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Your girls are really good, as we well know, they've
got a chance to repeat. But that are the teams
that you have to play in the sixth region. So
there we go. Pretty tough, Georgie, I haven't seen but
play fern creaks, no chopped liver, but you all may
be able to handle them.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yes, we are fifteen.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
And oh against Hold up, George, the Bears are fifteen
and oh against six region competition this season.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
You haven't lost the district or region game. They haven't
lost the district or region game.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
You know, should have a legitimate chance to advance out
of that sixth region. We have to wait.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
Yeah, they're undefeated.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
That's what That's what we've got going on. So just
stay tuned.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
We'll make sure that tomorrow Anthony gives you all of
the games.

Speaker 5 (17:39):
Were going a whip after I'll call on Thursday after
the game they play Wednesday night, so we'll see how
it goes.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Do that do that are such call?

Speaker 5 (17:49):
Butler Bears go Bears.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
I had no idea sixteen thank you, George had no idea.
So we've got say an Xavier that has not lost
a game in the state, and we've got Butler that
has lost the game in their region.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
That's pretty strong, George.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
I did not know that they look They look good
out here there. They got inside outside shooting. They played
together as a team. They got good point guards. Are
a little small, but they very quick, so they give
up height for speed. But they played together as a unit.
They played better than a lot of teams I've seen
this year.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Got you so, Anthony at sevent twenty four, we're gonna
go to break Bubba. We did not block you. You
just call in, Bubba. You know we've got Saint Xavier
and Trinity. You know they've got the dark side has
to so Bubba, call you sports radio.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
We'll get you on.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
It's the sports radio for umbers five zero two, five seven, one,
seventy nine hundred. We'll talk to you in a second.
This guy, we finally met and had our lunch. George,
you didn't show it's got sent to I. We showed
Georgia Bubba.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
He called me at the last minute.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
I don't believe that, Bubba.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Don't believe that I showed Bubba the email from the
day before, not going for George.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Bring Bubba on for us, Senate Bubba, Yes, sir, you
got a problem. With the dark side. You got a
problem with something.

Speaker 6 (19:11):
Well, let's let me start by saying, if you're gonna
be there at two thirty today, I'm coming, so you're
gonna pay for my soup?

Speaker 1 (19:18):
And hey, no, twelve thirty, Bubba, Now make sure now
twelve thirty. I'm gonna get there twelve thirty, twelve forty
five to two. It's eleven everyone listen, it's eleven PM,
eleven AM to two pm, two day at Roosters. I'll
be there at about twelve forty five, Bubba, I got you, Okay,
we'll sit together.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
I'll be there, yep.

Speaker 6 (19:37):
And secondly, me and the wife. We've been riding down
the road twice now listening to the u of L
women's basketball game. All of a sudden, it just switches
over to u of l's men's baseball.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
Why is that?

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Hold up? George? Help you out. I don't.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
I don't know, so I can at George, what happened?
Are you saying because we were losing to Notre Dame
they switched the game?

Speaker 4 (20:01):
No?

Speaker 6 (20:02):
No, no, automatically rolls over to the baseball. I mean
we're riding down road listening joining of the women's basketball game,
on the radio and they just switch over to the
baseball game.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
I just wasn't No, I don't, George.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
You have any idea. I think it was probably p
empty because of the scheduling, you know what. I mean,
they had that game to come on at that time.
That's very unusual that they get that confused and nobody, nobody,
I want to huge Dame.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
I mean that was huge. Anthony's gonna give that report
in a second.

Speaker 5 (20:38):
That was huge.

Speaker 6 (20:40):
Yeah, it's just you know, I'm thinking, you know, finish
out the game, you know, let's let the women stay
on air and put them put the baseball on another station.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Bub What's more amazing than me, though, Jerry, is that
it was a basketball game that was pre empty by baas.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
I agree, I agree. I just, Bubba, I did not
know that. But I'm sorry I can't answer it for you.
But I know it was a tough game. I know
Notre Dame came out on top, and we Kentucky had
a very tough game also yesterday.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
And give us the last two. Well hold up, Bubba, no,
not yet. We'll let that me do in the second, Bubba,
I got one.

Speaker 6 (21:18):
I got one more question.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Yeah, dark side George dark side.

Speaker 6 (21:24):
Well, it takes me's got to win one and you
gotta win one. Then I think we meet, so we'll
get back together.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
On that one.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Oh boy, let's go.

Speaker 6 (21:37):
Don't be don't be slapping your hands.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
Let's go.

Speaker 6 (21:41):
But George, Okay, it hurts on you, George, because he's
he said he's gonna pull percentual against st next that's.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
Yea, yeah, Okis You're right, Bubba. I didn't know what
I said. I forgot, Bubba, I forgot who I was
talking to. Roll over.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Up way to roll over, George.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
No, I got you on my team. I know I
don't have a.

Speaker 6 (22:16):
No, sorry, George, ain't have me, George.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
But uh but I feel it now.

Speaker 6 (22:24):
But and what I can't understand too, is you never
have the real athlete in the East family on your
older brother talk about the old days, because back in
the day he was carry Eve and Darryl Bishop and
uh they were a little bit before my time, but
those guys were the real deal back.

Speaker 5 (22:42):
In in the sixties.

Speaker 6 (22:43):
So uh, but I think you need to have the real,
the real Eve athlete on on the radio every now.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Up Bubbah, you know brother, you know better, Bubbam you know,
get him in the room already. You know, if he
swells up, his brother, come in, break his heart.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
You know.

Speaker 6 (23:00):
I mean I was going that way, but we might
not get it back for three or four weeks. That
might be a good that'd be a good thing, George
to y'all.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
Six, here's the problem. If you listen to jeff Howard.
Everybody knows Jeffery Howard, Martin Dunbar. They said, if Carrie
wouldn't have taken me to the park, George, I would
have never gotten up.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
That's what everybody. Everybody says, that Chuck. Everybody that I
talked to, your friend, they said, if it wasn't for came,
you wouldn't have played, I'd have never gotten chosen.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Boy.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
I know, I know, but Baba, just remember I was
on Kentucky's campus before you, Bubba.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
That's all. People hate me here because of my brother.
But I was on Kentucky's campus before you, Bubba.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
Yep, I was run a memorial coliseum. I was running
around on campus as a little kid. My older brother
signed to Kentucky. And yes, Bubba, just so you.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
Know, hey, I'm getting that blue study has been asked
for for so long getting the blue shirty George.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
I was on that campus before you, George. I just facts.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
But the bottom line is I chose my Cardinals, and
we had to bring that first ring home.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
That's all. That first ring home, that's all. That's what
leveled out the playing field.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
When we won that first championship, we told Wildcat Nation
we are for real.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
George, that's all.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
I was part of that team.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
To George, so I got both.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
I do have this law team once again, Bubba I
do in Kentucky. And then he turns on him and comes.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
A little turned on George. I turned on them I did.

Speaker 6 (24:34):
That's good. He's one of the smartest guys in town.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Oh, Ain't that's something. I can't you believe that. I
can't even believe that you believe that, Bubba. Look, all
I can tell you is Bubba High School Championship. You
understand that we bust you all. The end college championship.
You understand that we bust everybody then played in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Bubba.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
I put a lot of fear in people's hearts, especially yours.
I know, I know some of you.

Speaker 6 (25:01):
Bubb Oh, I gotta go. I'm shaking.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
I've got to go.

Speaker 6 (25:05):
I'm shaking so Bama that my phone down and I'm
going to my coffee. I'll see them and by see
you ba great one, Baba of a great one. Anyway, hey, Jared, Yes, yes,
you sound like that. Only thing different on ESPN when
they talked to the commentators that they flashin in the
bottom of what their career was you.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
You do it?

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Orally huh hell you without a doubt.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
I'm letting them know, George, I went about eight years
and just got disrespected by you all. I just thought
i'd let people know. And for all the Cardinal fans.
They're talking about how good the teams are. Okay, how
good the teams are, George, if they look at some
of those records about great January and great February, that
nineteen eighty Louisville team, I was on that one, and

(25:52):
that nineteen eighty one team without Darryl Griffith, that was
Derek Smith and I, Scooter and Ridney with Craye Wiley
Brown Lancas. I was on that one. So, George, I
was on some of the greatest things ever Louisville. Just
so I won't be an, I got a question for you.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Get the clap on and clap off. That means when
he would needs the ball, he clapped yes, when you
won the second pack.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Uh, Georgia will I'll just let you know, George, I
was kind of the man in the hoop. Yeah, Derek
leading scores, George. Yeah, I stepped out that robbin roll, George.
I stepped out the robbin roll a little bit, George,
I just did. I'm sorry, Hey, Darryl. Yes, so, yes,

(26:37):
we don't get the break. When we come back, George,
we're gonna talk about Chucky. Chucky hit Burton. I'm rave
all way, but I gotta talk with a Chucky is
cooking people, George.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
He's legitimately cooking people. Eve.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
George Radio will be back after the break, Shannon run
two breaks, so we don't have to stop after this.
Welcome back Eves Sports Radio, of course. Seven forty three
on Monday seems to be a pretty nice day again.
A lot of people's loved ones are out there in cars,
so let's be safe, George, before we go crazy. I'm

(27:10):
gonna throw it to Anthony first. Anthony, are you with me?

Speaker 4 (27:16):
I am.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
I'm in the car.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
Good.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
He's safe out there. Tell me something, an tell me something.
About what you've watched with Chucky this year. Chucky, I
knew he was a Floyd general. I never expected this
kind of offense production. I mean, Anthony, what do you
think I'm gonna give you a stat line, George, I've
seen a lot of stat lines I was crazy about.
Oh take it alway with Kentucky. Score in every field.

(27:41):
Go the last eleven minutes. Listen to Chucky's stat line
before the Anthony speaks, nine for eleven from the field,
six or six from the three, thirteen for seventeen for
the free throw line, four rebounds Forrest's two steals, two turnovers,
thirty seven.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Anthony, you lead us off. What do you think about that?

Speaker 3 (27:59):
Before all, I can say it's amazing what a player
can do under a distance, different system and a coach
that trusted in you.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
In a little bit of freedom.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
You go from being a role player at Wisconsin same
thing without Tayo Oway a role player at Oklahoma, to
where they evolved into superstars at their schools. Yes, and
the thing is even players of the last year, their
skills set hasn't evolved that much in just won off
season in the summer, all of three months, your game
can improve, but it doesn't improve drastically. Game improvements take time.

(28:33):
They take years. They don't just change over a matter
of two months and an off season change to where
you just magically turn into.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
A great player.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
These players have had this potential, they just haven't been
able to show themselves in the last couple of seasons.
Of where they've been at now, Chuckie Hepburn's stat line
and what he's done in the ACC and throughout the
season has been it's been remarkable. The only thing that
I can say, and that you know, some card fans
might disagree with me, is that when we looked up
yesterday even online, yule Velt does not have a line

(29:00):
to quadre games. And what I say by that is
the opponents that they're facing aren't very talented. The only
team that they face in conference that has give them
real challenges is Duke and Clemson. Everyone outside of that
has kind of been rather much show a cakewalk. Even
the bad game they had against Virginia Tech. Okay, every
team has a close game against that as it's one
of the mid tier or bodo tier teams in the conference.

(29:20):
But outside of that, he's been he's paying very much.
He's not playing any really talented players offenses or detensive league. Now,
that's not a knock to the production in the numbers
he's putting up. I just want to see that production
going forward past the ACC tournament into the NCAA turnament,
because that's where we're gonna really need him. UBL is
gonna need Chuckie Henburn, who plays phenomenal in the NCAA tournament.

(29:41):
He is the head of the Snake.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
He runs the team.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
He's the floor general, playmaker, shock creator, and the best
defensive player.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
He does it all for U OFL.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
The thing that scares me is if he gets in
found trouble, what do we look like without him for
a long stretch of time Versus a good opponent, great
point George, great point man, all great points.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
And just to clarify, I want everyone to understand, let's
just comparison, so everyone understands and we're oh, Shannon.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Please load that.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
We're gonna play that great point Anthony, please load that,
Shan and let me know when you have that done.
With the Andy Kats, Auburn has got sixteen and two
quad one wins.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Just want to give you a comparison.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Kentucky is fifteenth or nine and nine and quad one
wins nine and nine. They've played eighteen quality games. Louisville
is twenty fourth in the net ranking. They're four and four.
They've played eight quality So I mean point well, taking
Anthony is just the fact of the matter. What do
you think, George and Shannon, let me know when you

(30:42):
have that loaded. What do you think about Chuckie Apurn Georgia.

Speaker 4 (30:46):
Well there, and to put a conclusion to what you said,
and he's only about six foot tall, I just think
he had a heater of I thought he was. I
thought he played well at a Wisconsin. But like I
agree with what Anthony said. You watch the different styles
of play. Wisconsin was a more walking up type team
and not fast straight type team. You could always see

(31:06):
the potential when you saw the games, and I agree
with you also, And a lot of times the coach
would take him out of the game because he was
playing out of the character of their offense. And so
I agree with you Wholeharty. No way that I think
that this young man would be having the season that
he's having. I'm gonna be truthful with you. I mean
the shot.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
I never mean that when he came.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
I expected floor general, someone would need the team play
good strong defense.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
I never expected games.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
I just didn't, no, no, And I try to be
truthful when I said and his defense, I thought he
was cheating and not really playing good defense. But the
style he got is really good. And he I mean Jared.
I'm amazed at the steals that he come up with
and h the way and what I like about him
he anticipates. You know, a lot of young players today,

(31:56):
they don't anticipate. He watches where the ball's going. He
knows your offense and he'll anticipates that the next pass,
and he'll play that pass, lie and he'll break through
that and he's gone. And he gets everybody involved, Jerry.
That's another thing. As much as he's scoring, he's getting
all his teammates involved, and they run the offenses. So
you know, Jered, like I said, I can't say enough

(32:17):
funny young man, because I can tell you I was
one of his true critics when he first came in,
you know, And I'll be honest with that, and he's
pooping me wrong. So that's what I got to say
about it.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Yeh See.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
I wasn't a critic, but I just expected in floor
in general. I expected eight nine points a game, great defense,
run the team. I did not I say.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
Critic, I mean, I just didn't think he'd be what
he is today. I didn't like a game. I just
didn't think it would be. He was the past for
what he's doing now.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
Yeah, Jorde, I mean people are talking about him in
the top five best point guards in college.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
I didn't expect that.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
When he came to louis I didn't expect Louisville to
be sixteen and two, though, George in the ACC.

Speaker 4 (32:56):
With that out, Jerry one, you've got.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Louisville's sixteen in two with Clemson in the ACC, I
would have bet my house. I don't bet, That's why
I don't bet, but I would have bet my house.

Speaker 4 (33:06):
I'm with you, Yes.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
I don't, because I did not expect this from the
University of level. That's why I coach Kelsey tremendous job
this year. Anthony said it best. Anthony did say and
of course this is the worst ACC ever. But I guys,
I you in football, we had to give them credit,

(33:29):
and we did. Louisville and basketball has done the same thing.
They're gonna get their opportunity. They have qualified for the
NZ Tournament. No one expected that they have done that.
Coach Kelsey and the team has brought the crowd back
to the Young Center. They've done that. They will get
their chance, guys, They'll get a chance to play quality competition.
It's just for me, people, it's not They always say

(33:51):
you're down on Louiville.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
That's not true. I'm just the first one.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
Here ever that said the a SEC was falling, and
everybody said, oh, you just hate Louisville. You can't now
it's here. Nobody will call in and say we hated
you for it. But you were right that. I know
that doesn't happen, not in today's world. We understand that.
But I had talked about I saw where the conference
was going. Never did I think it would be to
this level, George. Every in my wildest dreams when I

(34:15):
talked to s which I did, former Commissioner, I never
thought it would be to this level.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
I just did.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
I mean, Jay, you think it about it, Almost every
ACC team would have at least one number one draft choice.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Exactly, almost.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Almost every team in the old a SEC. George, that
you pulled, you pulled duke away you pulled Duke away
and you may not have a first round draft pick.
The young man Anthony knows. The guard at wake Forest
has got a chance. He's athletic. They like him a
little bit. But guys, it's never been to this level.

(34:53):
And it can bounce, it can't turn quickly. It must
turn quickly. We got a caller, Chris, welcome to these
sports radio.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
How are you doing, mister?

Speaker 7 (35:01):
He's this is a Chris fourhand aka pastor Chris.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (35:06):
I just wanted to comment on I agree with your son.

Speaker 5 (35:09):
That was a good breakdown that he said.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
But I do want to say this, who did.

Speaker 7 (35:13):
Play good against Indiana and some of these teams, some
of these mid major teams that he's playing against. Uh,
he is dominating. But I like the fact that this kid,
I hasn't seen this in a long time.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
This kid reads the floor.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (35:28):
He makes passes.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
It's like he's he's a true point guard.

Speaker 7 (35:32):
He doesn't pick up his dribble. It's hard to trap
him and he.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Doesn't get rattled.

Speaker 7 (35:37):
My thing that I'm hoping is, and I'll let you
go in the tournament. Just think if if if Chris
the guy that shoots the threes.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
What's his name, the white kid Smith Smith?

Speaker 7 (35:50):
Just think, just think if all of them quick together,
you know, because what's happening sometimes uh, it's it's uh.
Sometimes the other guard he does good, somebody else does good,
so it might come up work. Then just clicking together,
you know, because it's gonna be hard to stop down because.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
Where are you going to? Kyoll Chris, go ahead, George Prince,
I'd like to say this, and Jerry done played the
game and acting one thing. We understand you live batter three,
you died bat of three. You don't know the night
that you're gonna be off with that three selectively as
a team. Rather, I'll tell you it's a scary thought.
We don't have any president.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
So right, here's the deal, guys that we have to
take into consideration. Louis Vian has played some quality teams
Kentucky's won. They played a lot of SEC teams they've lost.
But I went back to see his stats against SEC
opponents Kentucky at twenty six he was nine for eighteen,
four for eleven four six.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
George, he played really well.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Got me check any at twenty six points at Kentucky
Tennessee was the one game that he didn't play as well.
They all seventy fifty five, George, not as much production
as we're talking about. He was two for four, two
for seven, one for four, eight points.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
Got me.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
I just want people to look and listen to when
I think the quality teams louisbo did play. Let's go
to Duke in the seventy six sixty five the quality games.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
Pull them up, Chucky wasege he.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
Was two for eleven.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
Duke, Yeah, they're George, George doestat say that he was
two for eleven, two for seven, two for two, eight points.
So he's improved throughout the season. Let's go to another
quality game. This is what makes me nervous, George is
because other than Kentucky, when we're talking about quality games,
it's like, let's go to Oklahoma. He did play better

(37:51):
against Oklahoma and the lost sixty nine. Yes Oklahoma game. George.
Stats are for Chucky five ten, two for five, oer
for one from the free throw line, twelve points. So, guys,
I just when we're putting it out there, when the
quality teams that we know that Louis was played, and

(38:12):
you look at them other than Kentucky, his numbers have
not been astronomical.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
It got me.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
They have not in the ACC. It's so funny, how Chris,
and we'll hold that tape for tomorrow. Shannon. Chris said
the mid Majors. Chris, he playing ACC. So Chris, you
just called ACC mid majors, which you're right, which it
shouldn't be. It should not be that way. It should
not be that way. But when we do go to

(38:37):
some of the quality games, the numbers aren't as strong.
So we're gonna have to wait and see, yes, what
it looks like.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
We're side presence of something. I'm scared, you know, Jerry
in the tournament, you know, and I keep telling people,
you don't win by the three. You got to have
some inside presence and get to that foul lane. And
I just don't see Louis Will being able to stop
a lot. And my man Scott is a bad boy,
does his joab really well. But he's only one, you know,
And I like, I love Handley. I just think he
is a tremendous bob player. I think he stirs a super.

(39:07):
I know we're talking about Chucky, but I think the super.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
Yes, No, again, when you look at the one loss
to Georgia Tech. Chucky Hepburn was six for fourteen, three
for seven, two for two from the free throw line,
seventeen points. So it's it's pivotal that Chuck plays well.
Chucky plays well in this NCAA tournament and ACC tournament.
It really is because he is the key smith. Like

(39:36):
you say, everyone loves the three, George. But that's a
point well taken. I've told numerous people, if you had
to choose how a team was going to beat you,
all I will get in. Sorry about we'll get into
Kentucky tomorrow, George. I don't want people to beat me
from the perimeter. If I'm a coach, people don't believe me.

(39:57):
I would not want to get beat up in the
paint where a team shoots a lot of shots in
the paint and a ton of free throws and beats me.
I just rather the team hit jump shots to beat me.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
So and you know the second half, that's my second
second round, Jory. Them legs start to go them, legs
start to go out.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
The pressure round pressures a George pressure burst pipes that forever.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
This is not about Louisville's team, but when you live
on that perimeter, it's a little frightening when you're going
into one and done situations. But Shirt, I still want
to say for Chuck hit Burn what he's done in
the a sec Thank you, Shannon. We got one minute, George.
That congratulations for the way he's played. He's put himself
in re conversation to be an NBA player. They're talking

(40:44):
about him. He'll get his chance. I am going to
pre draft camp, George. George, I wish I could get
you in, but I really can't.

Speaker 4 (40:50):
I really don't. They don't don't let people like that.
I think it's in pre draft camp. I just don't
think he's a big enough athlete. But he's made me
so far, so I'm not gonna play neverlle Neville exactly.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
We'll get a chance to watch it.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
That's why sports is so great, because Chucky continues get
to divide the laws. So anyway, George, great show, brother.
I talked to you on Friday, See you this afternoon.
Don't forget palak crumbs, potato soup, Roosters, Shelbyville Road Eastwarths Radio.

Speaker 4 (41:18):
We love you all.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
Talk to you tomorrow. Great job, Shannon,
