missed it three pound dot.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Pard he headed no head it.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Away? Did it to the Sooners once? Can he do
it again?
Speaker 4 (00:19):
He gets to basketball, he's going, he drives.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
He puts it in with a half second to go.
Oh wait, did it again.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
To Okolhoma a walk off shot from Otega Hallway and Kentucky.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Will win it? Eighty five eighty four.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
You can't make it up.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Back, you can't make this up. Thank you, Rick, You
cannot make this up. Welcome back to Eve Sports Radio.
It is March to fourteenth, twenty twenty five, March madness.
You can't make this up. This all there is to it.
Phone number is five zero two five seven one seventy
(01:05):
nine hundred. Five zero two five seven one seventy nine hundred. Yes,
I'm horse from cheering all my lady Falcons to the
semi finals yesterday my falcon Lady Falcons did advance, but
my voice is gone. We've got always with us though.
On Friday and Monday, we've got the cast of characters.
The first one is young fella Anthony. He's welcome to
(01:28):
the show, Andy, How are.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
You cast the characters?
Speaker 2 (01:30):
No, I like to hear that as more of you know,
we bring that. That's that bizazz factor to this show.
I'm what mister Williams is here to back me up
because you know what I'm saying. I can't get jumped
by myself. You know it's got to be a two
v one. So you got exactly you got a fly
height advantage. Honestly, you know it even out the playing field.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
You've got the playing field. But let's let's bring home
the legion of doom. That's George Williams, Anthony, he the
legion of Doune. I just happened to be Superman. George
Williams to the show.
Speaker 5 (02:02):
George. I know you hater and you can't sing ring you,
but that you know who I am. Call me by
my name, by your.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Name, George.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
Yeah, boy, y'all sick this morning?
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Something wrong with you too, don't you? You? Crazy? Late
and Monday late night, George. Shoot, I'm five o'clock here.
You have to understand I'm an hour earlier than you all,
and my voice is gone. Hey George Anthony, George you first,
what did we watch last night? Get out of here?
Come on man, March madness George, what.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
What did we watch all day? Jay? I've seen three overtime,
two last second jump shot. I mean, Jerry, I mean,
like Andy said when we left the show last week,
my favorite time of the year. I mean you came
like you said, you can't make this up. I mean,
you can't make five games and I had two three
(03:02):
over times and two found second videos. Come on, that's
the wee.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Hey, this is just a conference play.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
Wait till oh my goodness, come on, come on.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
We gotta be honest. Anthony, what did you think? Brother?
What do you think of yesterday? Antony?
Speaker 2 (03:21):
All you can say is that is the definition of
March madness. If you don't love the excitement, you know,
everybody's like a little playing Stanford. It's supposed to be
a blog game. No, Louisville was down fifty two to
thirty seven at one point, and for some reason in
my head, I was like, you know what, I thought,
They're gonna make a comeback and this is gonna be
a great exciting game.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
UK did the.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Same thing against Oklahoma. They held the week pretty much
the entire game. Alway walks off again against Oklahoma. Oklahoma
fan has got to be in shambles. He went to
his prior school twice. You walk off game winners twice. Oklaho,
Oklahoma's Oklahoma's in sham right now? I know they are.
You was the same person twice that.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Used to go to your school twice.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Job and should you do? Anthony, George, you worked with
it yesterday. But George, Anthony, did I tell Louisville fans
it was gonna be a different game?
Speaker 5 (04:15):
Yes? Or no?
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Did I tell Louisville fans that ten and a half
points would never happen? Oh? No, You're a Georgie.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Spot on the money. You said you got the Stanford
and call game. We saw a different Stanford team than
they played them earlier in the season, and they did.
The big guy came around, They were hidden shots, they
were in motion. Their point guard played well too, Blakely
that used to be a duke, so they came to play.
It was a competitive game.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
I loved it, you know. I mean it just goes
to say, we say this all the time when you're
playing against a towned team, and no matter who you
played the second time, nobody just gonna let you walk
in and dog them up. Because, like I said, when
I watched that Stanford play, said I almost didn't watch
the Louisville game because I thought louisll would beat them
so bad. I got I thought, I was very, very impressed.
(05:00):
And one week the way Stampa played and the way
Lords will handle them the week before, Oh man, he
just showed you what boys don't want to go home
Jackie telling people anybody can beat you, and nobody's gonna
lay down because he's coming with a name. Even I
think they wan'ta beat you more.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Yes, any given day now, I'm gonna be honest with
my Cardinal fans. Of course I'm in Minneapolis. Last year
I was at the a SEC tournament. I would have
been there, but they're just the same time. I can't
be in two places at once. All my friends are,
I know, all my friends are. George, got me, George.
All I'm gonna tell is Kyle Smith. He was elegant
(05:39):
during the press conference. He was heated about some of
them calls George George in the hallway. He was heated. Oh,
he wasn't biting his tongue. He thinks he got a
bad whistle, George the whole game.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
He wasn't eating a couple bad.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
We want people to know that. I just want people
to know the truth.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
Geode.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
I just want people to know the truth. I tell
the truth. I don't care. I just wish I was there.
But anyway, so God, and.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
Let's keep it clean though, Jared, we'll say this. You
know we know that too bad whistles don't blow the game.
But you know that show put it in in Stanford.
I mean because that young man.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
He was hot, So George at six twelfth and no,
I'm gonna give it to you. I sent you that text.
We're gonna get in all that. But I do want
you to take us to break George, take your time,
and of course you and JR. Went a little bit together,
and I want you to have your say so that
we can get into the fun of March madness. But
(06:40):
I do want you to speak about your relationship with
JB before we go crazy. Was what happened yesterday?
Speaker 5 (06:49):
Well? Well, Jared, first of all, I can say that
I probably know JR. Long and as long as I
longer than anybody in Louisville. You know me, and I
know I know as And like I say, the first
thing I gotta say, Jared is that they were a
dynamic duo. I know when he met Dows and I
feel so sid for Dows, for Jared. You know, they
(07:09):
were a tag team. I know a lot of people
don't know about this, and you know, and it shows you. Uh,
Miss Dawes coming from like the west end of Louisville
and met Junior the first time. Man, I I mean,
it was just amazing because he never was a bodicious guy.
Util we talked basketball, you know, when me and him
got together, we always talked trash about who lit each
other up. And he always was a carry man. And
(07:31):
the thing that amazed me about him all the time,
he always had a vision of where he was going,
you know what I mean. When I first met him,
you know, that's when they had the ABA and the NBA.
And went sitting in the room one time and was
talking and Junior looked at me and said, George, if
I go to the ABA right now, this is what
I value myself at. You know, he went how much
(07:51):
he would be worthing ABA look at how much? And Jerry,
I mean, Jerry, most of us are just talking about
having a good time party in that now. Junior he
was always focused of head the way he was going,
you know what I mean. And like I said, you know,
like all the things that people say about it is
a his heart. It was always good. And like I said,
I got to meet him in a different way, Jarry,
(08:12):
because I never wanted anything from him. I never answered anything,
and I got to meet him as the person, you
know what I mean. Me and him, riche Allan Murphy.
We were like a group cause me and Rich would
play against him every day call for gym coach hos
Aving Sober and I worked out with him every day.
And you know, like I said, he was a spectacular person,
uh Jerry, And he was always planning a hand in
(08:33):
what he wanted to do. And you know, like I said,
I feel sorry for the family. And like I said,
he was a great a friend, a great father, And
like I said, my heart goes out to Dartston Junior
and they and like I said, they were like a
piritary couple Jared Jerry, because like I say, most people
get in that kind of position. You know, somebody's not
going to cooperate. But like I said, they were a family,
(08:54):
they were a unit, and he was a great person
and he cared about people, you know what I mean.
And like I said, and the most important thing I
think Jered he the money, never he was more of
a person than the money made him. You know, some
people talk about getting a bag, Junior was about let's
make a difference. And you know what his major was
in a college, j I don't know. No, Junion wanted
(09:16):
to be a psychastist. M. Junion wanted to be a psychcastist.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Man.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
You know what I mean about how amazing that is
because the way he worked with people, he interacted with people,
you know what I mean, it's just amazing. That was
his major. And like I said, he was a great friend,
a great person. And you know, I'm forgetting a lot.
I want to say, Jerry, because it was most of the
time and think about stuff like that. You know, Like
I said, I didn't even realize that me and Merphy
were talking the other day, Jared. We've been knowing each
(09:43):
other over fifty years, right, you know what I mean.
And that's and and stay close and you know what
I mean, Like I said, I never won anything, but
when we got together, it was always a great time.
It was always warm, and we had great memories. And
that's what that's I think That's what the best thing
I can have had great memories, and so I had
to say, I know the bout was he was my
boy me you was.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
So everyone knows. Yes, the Milwaukee Bucks are honoring Junior
by wearing a patch on the jersey for the remainder
of the season. It is one thing I spoke to
Billy Harmon. He says that the arrangements should be out today.
There will be a private service, George, and a public service,
(10:23):
but they'll get all that information out, hopefully today to
the public for next week when the services will be held.
And like we said, George, for me putting it to
bed for me is that I had a ticket to
the luncheon at the Goat House. I blew it off
to go play golf where I always see Junior Richmond.
(10:45):
So when Rick Bostitch calls me a Doug prophet, phone
goes crazy. George.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
I'm on a golf.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Course where I see Junior every week last summer, at
least once a week every week. And it was like ironic.
Ow I get the news when I was supposed to
have been at the luncheon at the Carton Club where
Junior wanted me to be trying to prove my bad
golf game. Just being honest with you guys, just without
a doubt. I was where I was supposed to be
(11:13):
when I got that news. Because that's the last time
other than you remember Junior came on the show when
he bought them, when he bought ten percent of the
bucks we had him on the hour. Of course he
told you, he told you, I don't remember those days.
If you dog, get me out, George. But just like
you said, he'd give you a hard time about sportsman.
That's it. That's the only thing Junior would ever talked
any sthing.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
We talked trash. Yeah, we all I mean people didn't
say this, but like I said, me say against him
and Allen, oh man, it was on every day dude,
you know what I mean. But like I said, he
was my boy man. And this is the funny part
about him, Jed, I'll let this go after this. You know,
we all rat a job. Jbbit a National harvester. You know,
(11:55):
I mean, we used to call Junior the All American
boy becuse he didn't do nothing, you know what I mean,
make milk and Wayne college, you know what I mean.
Out in the world, brother and Junior's up at drinking
milk never cause you know what i mean, I'm like,
come on, man's who's this cat? You know what I mean?
Put put me all on it right, So I know
that's what people to get. See. We used the dog
(12:16):
Junior them. That's when Paul players could walk on campuson
and know the students that they went to school with.
You know. But anyway, Uh, Junior worked at Harvester with
us and we and like again everybody else, Harvester's hard
worked to dirty work. Junior get the job on the
light side. Well, he don't get dirty, he don't get
no dust on him. Let me say, what's who is
this guy? You know what I'm saying. And it's so funny. Man,
(12:41):
And he was just and he come home and go
to work out every day. I mean, this mug was
one dedicated guy. He said Jordan, we met the gym,
were going one on one today and we would work
out for hours. And like I said, he wasn't a
great jump shot. Shod the jail when I first met it.
This mug go to the gym and you know how
you you you're hit and you keep passing the ball
back them on. He had about fifteen to twenty shot Jackson. Now, Junior,
(13:02):
you ain't gonna get the ball. Man my time to
shoot it, because he's a man shooting Jay We'll always
talked to him about Junior. Why don't you ever pass
about Junior? Didn't ever see that in his heart, Jeed,
Junior was a shoot. If it was a four and
one and two three people was open. We know where
the ball was going. Get ready to read back, Joe, Yeah,
what are your statistics?
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Touch? So at six nineteen, I've got George Williams, Anthony Eves,
the Legion of Doom. We're gonna come back up to
the break, Anthony, were throwing it to you for the
national news so we can get it in. Then we
got Kentucky Louisville, and I got some information for Hey,
I'm mad at both coaches. Let me just I'll tell
you after the break. We'll be back Evesworts Radio. If
(13:42):
under five zero, two, five, seven, one, seventy nine hundred,
Welcome back to Eves Sports Radio. Six twenty four, March fourteenth.
It his Friday. Yes, I have no voice. There's no
way you can have a voice. I'm sure half of
the state of Kentucky's Horse. I know that twin Kentucky
and Louisville yesterday. Oh my goodness, what games. So welcome back.
(14:06):
We've got Anthony's George Williams with us and Anthony. We're
gonna throw it to you. Bring us up to date
with what's going on high school and college so that
we can get into these two games the last segment,
two segments since the show.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yes, of course, obviously we got tons of stuff going
on with the men's and women's high school sports. They
are in their state tournaments, which is obviously what we
have been waiting for this entire year. Is everybody's waiting
for marsh Madness in any category is always spectacular time.
You just can't miss it. The men's five, we obviously
do have it still set. We're still waiting on a
couple of regions that are still finishing up the regional
(14:41):
play before they get their seeds punched. We're still missing
the Region four, five eight, Region ten, two and nine,
but the other matchups are set. Obviously. On March twenty
sixth at one thirty, we do have Jaytown or six
Sein Xavier, so we get some home cooking down there
in Lexington two local teams. I will say it every
time because I hate that they always put the Louisville
teams against each other.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
And second.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
It's like they had all these teams in the bracket.
You put the two teams I think have a great
chance of winning outside of a great crossing in the
first game against each other. It's just I don't know
why they do that, but they always do.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
But I wish politics George, Yeah, politics.
Speaker 5 (15:22):
Well, ever since they moved it out of Louisville, that's
the way it goes. If they don't play the first round,
you can bet money they'll be playing the second round.
And part you don't take them to the semis. Now
you're right, Yeah, politics, politics, go ahead, and.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Yeah, of course, And obviously that's what we have. Some
on the men's side, they'll be starting here in about
a week and a half, two weeks, so they haven't
started yet. But on the women's side, we do have
the first round of the Sweet sixteen play completed, so
we have those going on onto the Elite eight. Obviously,
we have North Lowid defeated Ashton Blazer fifty one to
forty two. George Rogers Clark beat Franklin Simpson sixty four
to forty two. Frederick Douglas beat Simon Keaton forty eight
(15:59):
to thirty nine. Taylor County took down not County Central
fifty three to thirty five. Danville Christian over David County
fifty three to forty. So we had Henderson County take
down Marshall County forty five to thirty. We had Thaker
Heart defeat Johnson Central seventy one to twenty eight, and
we had Cooper defeat Mercy Academy seventy to forty five
on those tweet sixteen rounds going on to the Elite eight.
(16:19):
Those games will also be taking place today as well,
on March fourteenth. Those games will be going down at
one thirty one thirty. We actually have an eleven am game,
which is pretty early, and then we also go all
the way games down to six and eight thirty, so
we'll be playing all day down there for the ladies
Elite eight going on to win that state championship game.
That is what we have for our high school. But
on the men's side, we had a lot of barn birders,
(16:41):
a lot of upsets, a lot of game winners that
went down yesterday for those.
Speaker 6 (16:44):
Who watched sports.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
If you're a Louisville fan or Kentucky fan, you already
saw those two games. And what happened last night a
Chucky Hepburn game winner and another otego away game winner
against Oklahoma. Cuezy basketball. We even had some other games
Clinton and s and you came down to the wire.
Fifty seven BYU did Upstate upset Iowa State. Iowa State
is still missing the two starting guards to men Lipsi
(17:07):
and Gilbert as well, But so I'm still a great
competitive game for Iowa State. Losing their point guard and
his shooting guard in the last two weeks of the season.
That's tough for a lot of teams. Texas did defeat
Texas A and M double overtime. My Texas boys is
still out there rolling. I still like Trey Johnson, Trey
Johnson's boy.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
I like, Oh, he's a hat drive pick. You like him.
He's a real deal. He's a high draft pick. He's
not Cooper Flag, but he's not far behind. He's good.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
No, the Cooper Flag did roll with ankle, which makes
me want to punch a hole in a wall because
he's played every game this season. As soon as we
get to the tournament, he rolls an ankle. Then we
had another player that went out for a shoulder injury.
I'm like, here we go again, the injury buggo. Like
I hate to say, I don't think if we don't
get Cooper Flag back all my dude fans people are
listening out to me, we could go out in the
(17:55):
round of thirty two or the sweet sixteen. And I'm
not joking, Oh you could go out first rights. How
It's just how basketball is. They slid by and be
Georgia Tech by eight last night, So I'm glad we
at least got that win. But there are other teams
on this board that they're gonna have tough games. The
tournament shows you how competitive and how tough these games
get in the regardless of what the record is. A
(18:17):
lot of games I'm not gonna lie. I thought wake
Forest would get the job done last night against North Carolina,
but they just they couldn't hold onto that lead. They
came out hot early, they were up fourteen to two.
By the time I looked up, they were down twenty
seven to twenty four. I was just like, like, wake
Forest is they couldn't do it. North Carolina's gonna try
to make that push to try to get their name
as last four in the NCAA Tournament. There's a lot
of other teams that did lose that have kind of
(18:39):
hurt their chances of getting in. Indiana losing the Oregon
kind of dwindled their chances a little bit, which it
sucks to say because I think Indiana was hot and
they were on a roll. I think they had a
solid chance to get in. But they're not the only
team that's done that as well. Obviously, have teams like Northwestern,
you know, Iowa losing the Illinois yesterday was another tough one.
(19:00):
The last four in is gonna be very tough spot. Obviously,
Swaggy Cow Arkansas loses the old Miss at the back
that was hard breaking.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
And don't forget Swagy cal got two starters out to George.
He had old Miss on the ropes. The kid need
to hit the free throw. But hey, Arkansas's in, guys,
I'm telling you all, Arkansas in. Don't even worry about it.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
They are.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Yeah, they are the way harder streets to schedule for
those a SEC teams that didn't make the Porsch like
the SMU losing the Clemson last night. I think that
was it for him for them.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
The c ACC just it's.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
So weak this year and they're not playing anyone. It's
hard to take out of those teams that have similar
records with more quadrine wins in the Big twelve SEC,
Big East. It's AC not the same as it used
to be this year.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
You don't have to make excuses. Just the facts and
the facts are the facts. Don't make excuses when it
is what it is now, George, I did say, I
don't know if you were with me. I'm putting pressure
on the SEC this year. The ACC's NCAA tournament record,
it's been better. Ron and I went and looked at
it and rose a cat fan. Guys, you all know
that we looked it up. It's better, So SEC. I agree.
(20:07):
I've been sucking on the SEC all year about how
good they are. Don't roll over in this tournament. SEC,
I'm the dog. Yell it's jered.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
You play well, George, but there's gonna be four SEC
teams in every region. A lot of these guys gonna
place each other for the third time, and they're gonna
play in every region, so they're gonna knock off every
every region before the better.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
It better be an SEC team knocking them off, George.
They better not be losing.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
They better not lose.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
Ye, George better.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
But I'm just.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
They're gonna eliminate a lot of their own teams.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
George, I can live with that.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
You better not have different in the last George five years.
The teams outside of the SEC.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Yeah, Yale beat Auburn last year. I'm not going for
Saint Peter's Oakland. I'm not going for the George. I've
been suck. They gotta performance.
Speaker 5 (21:02):
Turnay's done, their head lot sold down.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
But George, as much as I've knocked the acec here,
it is listen to me, guys, and I've knocked them.
Twenty seventeen, North Carolina wins it. South Carolina was in
that tournament. That's SEC. Twenty eighteen, it was Villanova, Kansas, Michigan,
Lord of Chicago neither conference. Twenty nineteen, Virginia won it.
(21:27):
Auburn was in the tournament. Texas Tech Michigan got me
twenty twenty. COVID twenty twenty one, Baylor wins it, Gonzaga Houston,
UCLA twenty twenty two, Kansas, North Carolina Duke Villanova twenty
twenty three, Connecticut, San Diego State, Miami, ACC Florida Atlantic
twenty twenty four, Yukon, Alabama gets in Purdue and NC State. Hey, guys,
(21:53):
we're gonna get to our first caller before we go
to our break at six thirty two. Bring on Bland
into the show.
Speaker 5 (22:00):
Good morning, are you.
Speaker 6 (22:03):
Good morning as well as well as I'm referring to Anthony,
not you, Jerry, and uh, good good morning George. Hope
you're doing great, buddies. Oh yeah, I'm doing well, crub now, Blendon,
I'm all right. Yeah, I wandered on a very serious note.
I wanted to send my prayers and uh condolences to
(22:24):
mister Bridgman and his family. And uh I was very
fortunate enough on a couple occasions to get to talk
to him, and uh, he was just an absolute gentleman
of a person, and you know, you could get around
him and just feel normal, and he was very welcomed him,
very very nice.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (22:44):
Just what a life he lived, you know, can what
can you say?
Speaker 5 (22:48):
Guys?
Speaker 6 (22:49):
You know, just just what a life he lived?
Speaker 5 (22:51):
Hey, Blended, I knew him when I knew him, when
he didn't have no money, he would just like me
and you you know that's awesome. And then a man
from from a nickel cat a being there, Oh my.
Speaker 6 (23:04):
God, Well i'll tell you what he's living testimony, George.
When you're when you're educated, and you work hard and
you do the right thing. And most of all, Jerry
said something yesterday that stuck out to me as a
guy of that statue. He knew how to treat people.
And there's a lot of people in very powerful positions,
(23:24):
uh that are very well to do that do not
know how to treat people. And they need to look
at that man for the you know, for god that's.
Speaker 5 (23:31):
In at department Well, Brandon, he wanted to be a
psych patsas he always wanted to deal with the human man,
and he knew how to deal with people. So yeah,
good for him.
Speaker 6 (23:41):
But I just hope you guys are well. And Jerry,
congratulations man on the Lady Falcon last night.
Speaker 5 (23:46):
Absolutely the man not a little word he went to
the game.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Man.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
You know that's check record ain't too good when he's
in support of a team.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
We went it last year. We're going back to back
lit it all again.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
So listen, did you let you come to the prominals? Jerry?
Speaker 3 (24:07):
You know, George, I'm surprised, George, I'm I'm surprised he's
downtime to go because he normally right now would be
walking to his Arabian horses and drinking his coffee.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
God, don't have time more, George.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
God the shows go crazy again? All right now, Blended,
I gotta get the break. But Blending, I want everybody. Ryan,
I'm coming to you next. But Anthony, you're gonna give
them the ESPN bracketology because everybody knows you're gonna have
to get them in between Monday and Tuesday before that
first game at eleven. So Anthony, before we go to break,
(24:45):
and we'll do it again at the end, explain to
them the ESPN body.
Speaker 5 (24:51):
I got something to tell you before you go, Blenn.
I need I need to tell you something. Blendon. We
need some money. We're trying to get ac out of jail.
Can you send some money into stuff?
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Oh jesus, Oh no, don't do Hey like Hey blanding
George like the man sent him on Twitter. Jay walkin guilty.
Speaker 5 (25:11):
Jerry, I'm trying to get I'm trying to get some
buying money here, Jed, don't hurt me. Don't hurt me.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
No no, no, God no, go no no, do not
free a c Anthony hit us with the esp and bracketology.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Yeah, of course.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
So the brackets are both up for the men's and
women's size of our cathos made for those that are listening.
The bracket is just Eve's Sports Radio. It's Eve Sports Radio.
When you type it in, we'll have a logo on
there that almost kind of looks just like a little
red falcon or a red bird on there when you
go there.
Speaker 6 (25:40):
The password is just.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
The exact same as what the user name is on
the group. The password is EVE Sports Radio. It's all
in lowercase one word.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
There's no space on it.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
And if you're not sure if that's the right one
or not, it has a group message on there. It
says E Sports Radio bracket hosted by Anthony and Jerry Eves.
It's like that. That is the one for the men's side.
For those listening again, I will go ahead.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
And repeat it.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
The name of the group is Eve Sports Radio and
the group password is Eve Sports Radio, all lowercase one word,
and that is for the men's side.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
And so George. You will remember, hold up at last
year we had we had counterfeit people out there. If
you all remember, I don't know why people wanted to
counterfeit E Sports Radio, but they did. So listen closely
to it. Ad he's telling you all so you can
identify the right place to put your bracket. Tell them
again and one more time.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
So it's for for Eve Sports Radio. That's for the woman.
For the men's when I do it again, I also
do the one for the women's as well. The group
is Eve Sports Radio. That's all spaced out, just normally spelled.
You'll see the little red falcon of the logo up there.
When you click on the group, the password is EVE
Sports Radio all in lowercase. The group message at the
bottom will say EVE Sports Radio Bracket hosted by Anthony
(26:54):
and Jerry Eve. So you know that is the correct group.
For the women's side, it is going to be pretty
much the same. It's gonna be E Sports Radio Woman,
so it's gonna be Eve Sports Radio Woman. For the
woman's bracket. The password is still going to be the same.
It's still gonna be Eve Sports Radio all lowercase. And
then in the group message, just confirm the group if
you're not one hundred percent sure. Eve Sports Radio bracket
(27:16):
hosted by Anthony and Jerry Eves. So that is one
for the woman. The woman's is the same. It's just
got woman on the end.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
Of the after Radio.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
The men's side is just Eve Sports Radio. Password is
Eve Sports Radio all lowercase for the brackets. So they
are up there and you can put all your picks
in there.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Live and ready to go.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
Yeah, Sunday night, you'll be ready. So let's get the break.
We'll come back to Ryan after the break. It is
already six thirty seven. We're of those great games last
night of March Madness. We'll talk to you on the second.
Welcome back to Eve Sports Radio six forty.
Speaker 5 (27:46):
One, George, Anthony.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
We got people on the line. We have to keep
it short because I'm gonna tell you y I'm upset
with both coaches at Louisville and Kentucky yesterday. Before our
next break, let's bring Ryan to the show. Ryan, Welcome
to Esports Radio.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
Came to college, Jerry. I just want to say, George,
Jerry's right about the SEC. I'm a Kentucky and SEC man,
but uh, you know they've lost a lot of games,
but maybe they'll do better this year. But George, you're right.
They'll put all them SEC teams in the same bracket.
They'll lock each other off, and I guess it's hard
to spread them out, but they are to spread them
(28:23):
teams out. I got a couple more things.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
I got a couple more.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
Things, Jerry, I'll get off.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
Anthony.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
You a young guy, but I'm gonna tell you right now.
And Georgia backing me up. Mississippi State had some good
teams and Lake Vichet's early sixties they had to snake
the sneak out of town to play in the n
Cuba and they lost to Las Chicago. Back in he
only took sixteen teams and Tennessee and Vanderbilt were good. Now,
(28:49):
SCC wasn't football commerce, but that football. I told Lot
McClain a while back at the SEC basketball and don't
going to take football. He didn't believe me. It's been
a few years, but I've been telling everybody about the
SEC for years, like Jerry has been telling people about
loban acc But Jerry, uh my cadologists were Junior brug
(29:10):
a great man, great player, uh player, a great coach
and I don't hate Loville.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
I chump people.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
I don't like the uh uh and they because they
make Kentucky so much. But you better watch Yukon because
Yukon wanted two years in a row.
Speaker 6 (29:26):
When I'll get off, Thanks for taking my car.
Speaker 5 (29:28):
Thanks for the car.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Right, Let's get.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
Hey Ryan. The coaches speak of it, I mean the
team at Mississippi and that he was speaking of Jerry
they leading score. Joe Dan God was my head coach,
and he told me the story had you had this
Niger out of Mississippi to go play Villanova. I mean,
one day I share that story with the fans. But yeah,
you coach in college, got you.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Let's rering Myke Teams Sports Radio Mike, Welcome to the show.
Speaker 5 (29:57):
Good morning guys.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
I just wanted to call in and say hi.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
I haven't called in a while. My hours changed a
little bit, so okay, I just wanted to call in
and say Hi.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
It's the greatest time of the year.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
Basket really is basketball season now, and George's in trouble.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
To me, you used to be but George Ben you
used to be buddies.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
Until I heard you say free ac now, I mean
you got beat.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
I won't get back.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Oh God, you don't make me all have a good day, you.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Too, have a great to day.
Speaker 5 (30:37):
My thanks man.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Now, look, guys, six forty four, we're gonna go to break.
But here's why I'm upset. Talking points for all the people.
Why you all listen to eve Sports Radio. George Williams.
Do you know my Cardinals were up yesterday seventy three
sixty five with a minute fifty eight to go and
had to win it at the buzzer? Got me, you're
(30:58):
up seventy three. They won seventy five seventy three with
a minute fifty eight. Gave it up eight point lead.
The Wildcats were up eighty to seventy George with a
minute twenty six to go, eighty to seventy got me
with a minute twenty six to go. Guys, both teams
cannot give away leads like that. Cannot give away leads
(31:22):
like that. Both of them were extremely fortunate guys for winning.
So we're gonna get the break when we come back. George,
you get to pick the team. Eave Sports Radio, Watch
forty five. This is our last break. We'll be back
in a second. Welcome back to Eaves Sports Radio and
excuse me because I've been saying six forty eight. I
know it's seven forty eight your time, but on my phone,
(31:42):
I'm just coming on a three third grade reject I
just I do certain things. It says six forty eight
because I'm in Milwaukee, but it's seven forty eight in Louis. George,
which game do we go to? Which game?
Speaker 5 (31:55):
Let's talk about Lobell Jess as show, Alma, Mama and
man talk about the deal.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
I told people yesterday, George on the show, it would
be a different game, without a doubt. Stanford, California, they
played differently in the a SEC tournament. They have talent.
I'm not gonna say I was disappointed in the coaching,
was disappointed in their best player filing himself out setting
in illegal screens seventy five feet from the basket. His
(32:23):
third file was a phantom call. It was an awful call.
The announcer said it was an awful call. It could
dictate the game. I don't know where the referee found
that to blows whistle, but he did. But I knew
it would be very competitive, George, I just did, and
it was. Both teams played hard, they didn't play extremely well,
but they played hard like we know in tournament play,
(32:45):
knew of it was able to survive with the craziest
play I've ever seen, mishot. They showed it right now
in ESPN misshot by Edwards rebound. Honestly, the young man
was filed, There's no question about it. But I wonder
were you gonna get to that, Oh, George, I'm not George.
I'm not fibbing for anybody. There's no question about it
when those things happened. But the refs at the end,
(33:10):
Denny Crumb used to say, and I'm gonna give it
to you an Anthony and Anthony the last minute and
a half were throwing it to you for bracketology. So
you stay there because you've got to do it one
more time. Coach Crumb said, I want players to be
their best when it matters, which is at the end
of games, you had to be your best. And he says,
I want the officials to be their best when it matters,
(33:31):
the same thing with my Simmons Falcons. Tony Branch's player
got filed. The rest ran off the floor. Now Tony
was elegant, I was elegant. We said nothing. Harrisburg Campbell's
field is playing in the tournament. Now. It doesn't mean
we would have won we were down one George, or
we should have the opportunity to shoot two free throws.
It doesn't mean your team would win, but the rest
can't do that. Well, we saw patility, opportunity, that's all.
(33:54):
That's all he asked for. So it was very fortunate
to advance George, that's all. So what do you think?
And I said it yesterday It did not surprise.
Speaker 5 (34:06):
Well. I thought I thought to turnaround because I thought
the guard play at Stanford would let them down, and
watching them Saturday, that was one of the things I
thought about. And I thought that Chuckie would take over.
But I thought they played good defense. I thought they
played well, and I thought the referee putting them on
the bench Jared made a big difference. But now little
(34:27):
will answer one of the questions, do they have to
come back into him? So you've seen some championship play
in by back being able to fight back in the
tournament play, and a lot of people don't understand, and
we know Jared and Anthony that when you go to
tournament play that first game you play, I don't care
what you say, you got a little jitis in you,
you got a little anything can go either your way
(34:48):
or the other way, you know what I mean. And
they were fortunate enough to get back on track. And uh,
I thought that uh of Stanford, like you said to me,
if I'm the coach there, I am screaming at that
young man, do not set that pig. So like, oh,
he found him.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
He filed that was a file. That was not a
bad call. He he fouled himself out. George. I used
to tell players, you do that you didn't want to
play in the crunch. He didn't. He wanted out. I'm sorry.
He's a good coach, Maxine Renault, he's a good player.
But he filed himself out.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
No, he did, George.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
He checked in at the seven minute mark and said
a screen coach part was yelling in my ear. He
set a screen ninety feet away from the basket. They
could have caught it. Then it's like that kidding he
didn't want to play this.
Speaker 5 (35:39):
Yeah, I'm sorry, And I always saying my coach always
told me to Winners find a way to win, and
losers toll found a way to win. Lose, you know,
And they kept that pressure on him man, and like
I said, but like I said, the two files they overlooked.
But but that's not the difference in the game. You know,
two files shouldn't be the reason to win a loser.
You had a fifteen point lead. So I can't give
him no credit. I gotta get taking my hats off
(36:00):
the Louisville for playing the whole game. And but I
don't think they.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
Can do it.
Speaker 5 (36:05):
One thing that showed me, Jae and we talked about
this auth all year, that inside presence was Louisville. You know,
they were dominating that Louisville on the inside. When they
had good and got that ball inside, they can pretty
much do what they want to do. So I'm a
little worried about that. Although they look good, I'm a
little worried about that inside presence. If Scott goes out,
you know who's gonna hold down the middle?
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Oh little thin? Yeah, they're thin and George. You can
see the difference of Louisville without Smith, the florist facing
is not the same. They package. They don't have that
thread of the three. It's important that they get Wrin
Smith back for Louisville, really important. So we just watched
the first game of craziness. Let's go Anthony to Kentucky. Anthony,
what that junk is crazy? I've never you know what?
(36:48):
Oh take the old way is a bad man.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
That's a bad man.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
He's a bad man. And what did you do?
Speaker 6 (37:00):
No?
Speaker 2 (37:00):
He he showed up the big moment. He's done it
multiple times a season. He's done it twice against Oklahoma.
The only thing that I can say is that we
did discuss obviously with the two teams, is that Kentucky
was up eighty to seventy with a minute and twenty
four seconds ago, and we're and ended up down within
a minute in seventeen seconds later. You give up fourteen
points in a minute seventeen seconds is unheard of. Yes,
(37:24):
but it doesn't matter if you're missing Butler or one
of your best players. Fourteen points in a minute in
seven seconds.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
Oh yes, yes it does. Now you lose your point guard,
that means a lot. Means in the close the minutes
of a game you played with point guard. You had
great point guards you played with. They can make a
difference at the end of the guard. Oh yeah, you
got that game.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Fourteen points. That means even if the ball over which
they were.
Speaker 5 (37:48):
I means you played eighty seven.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
That's right, Yes, what I said, that's an eighty to
seventy with a minut and twenty four seconds ago.
Speaker 5 (37:57):
A point guard calms it down, man, I can give
it up the court. I can get it to who
I want to. I can do what I want to.
That's why if you've got a great point guard, that's
why Coach Crumb say, point guards win championships.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
You understand, And I mean a minute and you've got
to do the espn hoda man butler plays eight minutes.
I'm frightened to death again, gentlemen, godly Moses. It's hard
to advance far without your best point guard. Kentucky was
able to do it for extend a pit at a
time when that pressure hit and that game got tight. Oh,
(38:31):
they were giving that ball up like crazy. But no, buddy,
I don't want it. A lot of people don't want it,
George exactly. So bracketology again, bracketology, and give it to
us quickly, of course.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
So the bractology for the men's side is the sports
radio is the group name. The password is e sports
Radio in all lower case. For the women's side, it's
gonna be the same Thing's gonna be E Sports Radio
woman for the women's bracket, E Sports Radio woman for
the woman's bracket. The same password is the sports radio
on all lowercase.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
You'll see the.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
Red falcon on there. E sports Radio bracket hosted by
Anthony and Jerry Eves. So do you go in there
and type on the men's side or as do what
you type in ES Sports Radio the same thing for
the password to be able to sign in. You get
one entry per bracket, so you get one for the
men's side, one for the woman. Don't think I'm going
there and make seven brackets. This is not gonna happen.
You would get one bracket.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
And actually we have.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
I think we have. Anthony Thornton's already in here. He's
already made it so perfect. We already got one in
there on the men's side. I can see it right
now in the group.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Okay, Anthony, Anthony, that's the kicker from the University of Kentucky.
And I think you've met him. Oh you did, and
you worn't with me at the Kentucky basketball game. But Anthony,
I see a big fella. He's interesting judging. If you
need something called Anthony. Yes, George, let me till you.
Speaker 5 (39:45):
Shout out to mister Duncan at Jeffsonville High School. They
did an outstanding game and I wanted to congratulate both
team Butler and j Justsophville one of the best high
school game there I've seen in some years. I want
to give a shout out to you guys, and good
luck job.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
Guys, watch sports, enjoy yourself, and put a smilence on
one's face each switch. Radio God Willie, We'll be back
on Monday. Love you ah, Bye bye.
