I know he's up. Is that George anywhere around? Jerry?
He is? That is? Hey George? How are you?

Speaker 5 (01:47):
George doing all right? Well?

Speaker 2 (01:50):

Speaker 5 (02:04):
So you Madam?

Speaker 2 (02:05):

Okay? Adam scared?

Speaker 5 (02:22):
Wait I'm talking.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
No, hey, Adam, don't let him talk to you like that, Adam.
We stand strong. We had a great back bounce back here.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
George.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Well, I mean, of course, George and all our listeners.
You need to call people that listen to those other channels.
I don't Some people just want to feel good but
don't want to know the truth of George. They don't
want to know the truth, and we have told them
the truth. Acc One in three one team. There was

(02:51):
only one quality team in the league. I'm sorry, we
know that now, and the league must improve.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Will wait, will help? I mean, that's a step in
the right direction, no question.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
So Lucas Lucas is going to League two, going to
Maryland exactly. So we've got we're gonna find out the
ACC has to bounce back.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Now.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
Look, guys, we've got George. Anthony doesn't even know this,
gentleman is I told him this morning. But we've got
Roger Harden calling in, former point guard, former mister basketball in Indiana,
former Wildcat, calling in about his experience playing Tennessee three times.
So we're gonna talk to him in that second break.
We got a lot of things popping. So let's first

(03:37):
see Andy, George, let's get We're gonna get Ryan on.
Then we're gonna let Anthony do the national brackets. Tell
everybody where they are a George. Everybody said, I can't pick.
I gotta I got a chance to win this thing, George.
And if I win at George, guess who gets paid
if I come in the top three or Anthony, guess
who gets paid? Well, okay, that's correct, that's correct. I

(03:58):
just want people to know, don't let me win. I'm
paying myself, no question. This is a fair game. I
have nothing to do with it. The computer calculates the
scores in your picks, so.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
We'll let that and do that.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
So let's hey, let's Jerry.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Huh huh.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
Ship, she'lla wins you in and out without you gonna
win this year with you.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Hey, that ain't funny, George. Everybody knows your wives get
your money. Everybody. She always wins. If I'm hot, she's hot.
If she's hot, she's hot.

Speaker 5 (04:31):
Why is that, George, and she's hot?

Speaker 2 (04:36):
That's true, true, so true. So let's get Ryan, Ryan,
welcome to sports radio.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Hor are you I'm doing great?

Speaker 5 (04:44):
Jerry?

Speaker 2 (04:44):
How you doing? George?

Speaker 1 (04:46):
And what about them?

Speaker 5 (04:47):
Why cats? Buddy?

Speaker 1 (04:49):
I mean they put that's the best Jerry overall. In
my opinion, that's the best game they played all year.
And I know I'll tell you what I do. They
look like they look like a team. To be answered,
I'm gonna tell you I don't like that, but they
look like the best team. But you better watch Michigan.
You better watch Michigan State and Michigan you better watch them.

(05:11):
Come Michigan State's got a bench and a half man.
They play a lot of people, and Kentucky wore them
down yesterday, they wore them Millano, I've always down. You
know what I'm saying. But yeah, go ahead, George.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
You don't you don't think the Gonzaga game was the
best game they played out here?

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Well, I don't know if I've seen that one, buddy,
I ain't got cable TV. I'm old fashioned. On the
social media, Jerry, Jerry knows all that.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
Jerry knows all that I made that.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Florida got a game, they got a good team, but
then they had a hard time with Yukon. I told
you better watch Yukon.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
That's right, yes, sir.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
He defeated Kentucky defeated Florida one O six, one hundred
and a great game.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
That's right. That's the best game of the that was
the best game of the year.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Well, yeah, you're right, that's true.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
What is the real deal?

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, you're fla You're right, But I'm saying lightly, that's
the best game the Junckie played since that game. But
that game was played in rep Arena. And they're going
to beat Tennessee, buddy, and they're going to go to
the final eight. You know what I'm saying. But I
was wrong about crighton. I told you Creighton would beat Auburn,
and way Auburn played the other day before they played Craiighton,

(06:25):
I thought they would. But I was wrong about that,
and I admit it. I ow't up to it. But man,
I don't know who's gonna win this thing.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
It's a great one, right right. I know the show, sir,
wait to open up the show.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
A lot of excitement, but Ryan a lot of excitement
and Kentucky has Yeah, congratulations to the Cats.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
I mean, great seedy.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
But Ryan, why did you.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Forget one thing? Yes, sir, George, you two okay? And
then I've talked about it and he didn't forget it.
Swaggy Cow owns Rick Betino like a government mule.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Oh and got to mention, well, I said, he look
clok Jerry. I like Cal too. I like Cal the Gual.
I never met him like you did. I didn't have
credentials like you.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
But I met the man. I never met the man,
but I talked to him on the radio, Big Blue
Line many of times. They always traded me nice. He
traded me with respect, and I had all kind of
calls with him. I wish I George corded them and
played them back to you.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
You know, started owing, I let you go, Bud. Everybody's
sid see you later, right, hey, George.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Anton, Okay, thank you, buddy, how thank you?

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Brother?

Speaker 4 (07:34):
He starts owing five, and everybody thinks that he's done.
They're gonna fire him at Arkansas. He and Kenny Payne
are done. They don't know, Uh, Anthony, are they? It's
swacky Cow playing this weekend. I just want to know,
is Arkansas still in the tournament.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Oh yeah, they're alive.

Speaker 6 (07:55):
I'm driving right now.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
So for all my Kentucky fans who want me to
roll over on my boys, not gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
I don't do that.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Swaggy Cow owns Rick Matino like a government mule, George,
right or wrong?

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Now? Right or wrong? Number two seed, number ten seed? Right?

Speaker 5 (08:13):
Look at if you're gonna look at the record.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
There's nothing else to look at, George.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Even when even when Rick won is a championship in
ninety six. Uh, Cayle Goddy, your sir, sure did?

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Home boy owns him like a rented government mule. That's
all there is two gentlemen.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
But but but yeah, now a subject. I wait till
we get changed again. But I might ask the question.
Go ahead, I thought the great as Oh you can
see no love. There was no love, no love.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I love it, I.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
Do, I asked, I would have loved. I would love
to be with the coaches after the game when Cal
got to talking. And I definitely would love to seeckin
coaches after the game. I know he's just down the
road on them. Boy.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Okay, we will We'll go get to our next guy. Okay,
oh gosh, let me get to him. Uh, bring him on?

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Who do I have?

Speaker 4 (09:07):
I got who's on the line, Roger Roger? Okay, Roger,
you hold right there, Roger Arden. I'm coming to you. Anthony.
Give me the national things that are going on. The
teams that are playing in both men's inside Win's bracket.
We'll get to our bracket later, and then we're gonna
bring on the one and only Roger Harden. Guys, I
got introduce that man, right, but we'll do it after

(09:29):
the break, Anthony National News.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
Yeah, of course.

Speaker 6 (09:33):
So obviously, all the teams that are in the sweet sixteen.
It's funny it's only four conferences that are in the
sweet sixteen. There's no mid majors, there's no smaller schools
outside of that. It's only Big ten, SEC, Big twelve,
and then the last ACC school, which is the best
team in the tournament. Everybody knows that Duke Blue Devils.
God no, No, I don't need to I don't need

(09:54):
to be cause I think me saying that is one
of the most vowid things.

Speaker 5 (09:58):
You hear in the show all week. They don't get
we we want to talk about bracket. You picked the
Houston Cougars. We know there they are not getting it.
So we know who's not winning.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
So go ahead and eliminate yourself from the.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
Winning everyone Dad's not winning. You pick the Houston Cougars.
We know Samson can't passed the five or four.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
That's why I'm gonna win it, George. No one went
with Houston, That's why I'm gonna win it. Everybody went
with Florida. So many teams with Florida. They were they
were almost out, George, almost.

Speaker 5 (10:31):
You know, I've been talking Houston for the last three years.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Yep, no question, you're talking talked to a.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
C when when when they had Memphis in them, and
I told you it's one of the tougher conference then.
So I've been on the players and the conference.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
And we can get the break. So we can get
we can get Roger, get them, give me that.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
With the AC we have to do Big ten.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
We have four teams, got Michigan, Purdue, Michigan State, and
Maryland off that suposed to be the last night.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
Big twelve.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
We got four team as well, Texas Tech, BYU Houston
and Arizona.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
SEC is still rolling strong at seven teams.

Speaker 6 (11:08):
They got old myths Auburn, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky and Alabama.
Those are the last teams rolling on in the Sweet sixteen.
Games will be held Thursday and Friday for the Sweet
sixteen later this week.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
That's all, guys. Let's get to breaks so we can
come back with the one and only. I'll introduce him properly, George.
He's Indiana missed the basketball, so we know we've got
to talk to him. We're gonna be back in a minute.
Welcome back, and thank you for listening to Eves Sports Radio.
I've got Anthony Eves my son, I've got George Williams

(11:43):
my Nemesis, and guys.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
We're getting ready to bring on a really good guy.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
Last time we were sitting side by side was that
Roger Berkman's Bracketology a few years back.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
We had great conversation. He's been on the show.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
I want to bring Roger on correctly though, Anthony, this
gentleman you're talking to nineteen eighty to indianimous to basketball
Barbaraizo high school, great player, goes on the University of Kentucky,
starts three out of four years, Anthony. One of the
top assist guys at the University of Kentucky. I want
to say, four hundred ninety eight career assist Eddie Sutton said,

(12:16):
And I think this is the best compliment. He's at
his best when the game's at its toughest. So, guys,
I want to bring on the one and only Roger Hart. Roger,
Welcome to the show.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Brother. How are you man?

Speaker 3 (12:28):
It's great to be here. I feel like I just
walked into the barber shop, man, and get ready, cock
a little ball, all right, I'm.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
Talking about you're right.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Oh yeah, let's just get started with this.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
We have to because you told me, and it was
really I didn't know this, but I looked it up.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
You are in nineteen eighty six to played LSU.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Four times, beat them the first three, and lost to
them the fourth time. I just looked it up. But
you also told me you all played Tennessee three times.
What year was that was that eighty five?

Speaker 3 (13:03):
No, that was eighty six, Actually was in Tennessee. It
was Alabama. We had to play Alabama, Alabama, and that
was the that was the fourth that was that was
the fourth time we had to play them that year.
We beat them, and then the next game we had
to play LSU, who we just beatn SEC tournament twice

(13:23):
in the regular season, so we had to play for
the fourth time. Actually, that's when the n CUA a
uh reevaluated where they place people so that you're not
playing uh you know, interconference rivals real early or you know,
you don't meet as many as you going to trying
to get to the final four. So so when I

(13:44):
saw that we got to play Tennessee for the third time,
I don't I think three times, yeah, three times, but
when it goes to four times, I think that's when
it gets ridiculous. So I'm not afraid of playing Tennessee
three times. I think we got a great match up
against them. I mean I think the way we match
up with them, I think.

Speaker 7 (14:06):
We have more offense than they do.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
And so, you know, I think that's what coach Matino
found out. Who I was a big fan of Saint John's.
I just felt like offensively, they just struggled a little bit,
you know what I mean. So they didn't really uh
you know, they just couldn't put the ball in the hall.
So you know, I'm thinking, I'm thinking good things against
Tennessee for the University Kentucky.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
So you think they can go three and zero against
your art try, I mean the real art, tribal hatfields
of McCoy's Tennessee. Yeah, I do this week in Indianapolis.
Oh yeah, my goodness. I'm gonna tell you what. That's
gonna be a Barnberger. The reason I agree with you,
I told you last night the reason Tennessee struggles with
Kentucky this year is that Kentucky can score.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
That is Kentucky strength. They do score the ball.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
But beating Tennessee three times, I'm gonna be honest with you, Roger.
In my bracket and I'm in seventh place out of
one hundred and eight. Anthony and I are both tied
for seven. There are numerous people tied for seven. I
got Tennessee. Moving on, I have to be honest, So George,
George Williams, Roger Ard, I will introduce you to George

(15:16):
Williams and my son Anthony. Hey, guys, speak to Roger.
He's a celebrity. George would still make him feel good.
Don't talk about it.

Speaker 5 (15:23):
I'm not where Roger. I always like to say this,
being in the big Blue Nation, you know, I always
like to talk to my little brother here, Jerry David Louisville.
They understand that he doesn't understand how a team can
win three times in a row. But I think the difference.
I think the difference though Roger is the guard play

(15:45):
I think Butler on the Tennessee's guard. I can't think
the name right off the top of my head right now,
but I think that's the difference. And they match up
with them size wise, so they can battle with him
on the board because Tennessee is vicious on that board. Now,
if you're not ready to play him, they would do
it to you. You know. I watched them when they
came in and played Louisville. They big, they quick, they
can interchange, so I really think they can beat them too.

(16:08):
I agree with you.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
I mean, I go ahead.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
I'm sorry, no, no, no, no finish answer George's question.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
I mean, I got great respect for you know, coach Barnes,
where they play defense, where they play basketball. But I
think I saw stat last night from a good source
that you know, Butler only played in our two games
against Tennessee, if I'm correct. I don't want to put
stuff out there. You guys might know this more than
I do. I think he's only played like twenty two

(16:39):
minutes in those games, you know, because of injury.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
So so Butler, Butler and Ziggler is the real deal. Though,
Ziggler is the real deal. George and the little fella
said he wants Butler. He says he wants enough shot.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
At Butler and he's a lot of me pick They say,
but was up in him last night.

Speaker 7 (17:02):
Butler, Yeah, I mean, what what what ken Ziglas say?
He's got to say something. I mean every four times, right,
Jerry Am I right? And said, well, somebody's gotta say
something to me. The fact that he's talking like that,
that doesn't if I'm a Tennessee saying I wouldn't be
talking like that. Okay, Butler's first.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
At Okay, so what so what about Butler?

Speaker 3 (17:29):
I mean, you know you think Butler's like a shaken
right because because yeah, because okay, so.

Speaker 7 (17:37):
But it doesn't really it doesn't really matter. I mean,
I think everybody's going to play and all the top
is cheap.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Here's the deal.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
The biggest play of the game yesterday Kentucky was shaking
is when Butler stole that outlet pass from the gentleman
and got the three point play. That was the biggest
play the game. Butler is your junkyard dog with if
you got a chance.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
I didn't agree with you. I disagree with injury.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
That still was a big play.

Speaker 5 (18:09):
Don't tell you get my point, Let me give me
your joint. My my My point is I just told
you they had a littery pick and he put him
in his back pocket. Okay, that's what changed the game.
He took his points from him Jerry, and then added
to him, and then he got the stills to make
the game. Is you just reported that's what happened. We
put the start in like.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
George, I saw that a lot in the game, Jared,
I saw teams.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
I saw teams beat ill anoint fifty George seriously not
playing forty six points thirty eight.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
They got destroyed a lot.

Speaker 5 (18:43):
Every time a lot were talking about how they played yet,
but I just want to let you know they showed
up in.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
The game about that destroyed a lot.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
We that talking about? Who was anyway? Mother couldn't have
been yesterday?

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Don't don't love him. I'm going with tennessee the balls.
I'm gonna Rocky Top all week.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
All week, Anthony, what are you thinking?

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Hello to Roger Harten, Hello, don't don't.

Speaker 6 (19:09):
Don't listen to my dad. He's the reason why his
practice about to fall short. He's out here picking the
balls and the cougars he picked.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
They ain't won the championship since I was. You're in love.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
You're in love with a five five point guard.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
You ain't going that far when the last time.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
I don't like small guards, Roger, I don't like small guards.

Speaker 6 (19:32):
You wouldn't, but you wouldn't know on this radio show.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
You thought they'd be the best thing.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
A bad man he loves.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
He's lost swife three times.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
All three times and there okay, and who did you
pick Kentucky or Tennessee?

Speaker 5 (19:53):
Truthfully, I picked I picked the.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
I think that's something, Roger. I you're going with Kentucky two?

Speaker 5 (20:02):
Yeah, give me another chance to listen.

Speaker 7 (20:05):
I'm not really if I thought they were gonna lose.
If I thought they were gonna lose, I tell.

Speaker 5 (20:09):
You you know icketology.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
You did know Rogers. That's truthful. Roger did say that
bracketology three or four years ago. He didn't like Kentucky.
I liked him better than you did. Right, that's correct, George,
what are you saying? Are you saying Kentucky wins?

Speaker 5 (20:24):
You just heard me tell you that Butler gonna put
him in his back pocket? Jay, what do you think?
Do I think Kentucky gonna win? You confused?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
You see?

Speaker 5 (20:32):
You see to be a little stakey this morning. You scared?

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Okay, let me tell you all this good old Rocky
Tip Rocket time Tennessee.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
For people to be live on Rockey Tip. Hey, Roger
too early, right, this is what this is what I love.
He saved those songs and then after the game I
get to laugh at him. You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (21:00):
This weekend is.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
Gonna be what a week guy?

Speaker 4 (21:02):
Hey guy, let's be honest. We've got Kentucky Tennessee. I mean,
think of some of these games that are gonna be
played this weekend, guys, I mean honestly, you've got Auburn
Michigan two simphotos Ole, Miss is rolling old Miss Michigan State, Florida,
Maryland and Queens is a bad man.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Also, he's a good freshman guy. He's a good player.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
And he played with go Boy last year. Black. He
played with Black last Yes he did.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Oh yeah, Malverdie, Yes, all of them. Hey what about
Swaggy Cow? Tell me something though, now, Roger Brough jall
and you know you told me you were Rick Potino
man in Saint John's I understand.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
But Swaggy Cow owns him like a government mule. What's
your comment? What's your comment?

Speaker 3 (21:49):
I have no comment. I don't live in yesterday. I
think you know, Coyle's boy is the best when he's
got his back to the wall, when he's down, everybody's
giving up on him. So, you know, congratulations to the
way he's turned Arkansas around here late in the season
and had a nice run. But it doesn't really I

(22:10):
don't really like to hop in that conversation because that
for me as a Kentucky fan, that's yesterday. And you know,
I really only at this point just start thinking about,
you know, Kentucky basketball. So all of the all of
the talk about you know this, that and the other,
it's not really worth it to me. You know, I
don't even.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Jump out definitely want to hear that garbage.

Speaker 5 (22:33):
No, No, you didn't want to hear it because of
a radio show.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
I like, I like, I personally would have liked to
have played for Patino. That's how I always look at
a coach, who would I have liked to play for?
I would you know, I'm not saying you know, I'm not.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
I'm not you know, I don't.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
I don't have any grudge against Kyle, you know what
I'm saying. So you know, I thought Rick Davis the
best there we've ever had University of Kentucky as far
as excitement and stuff like that. But you know, I
appreciate what they did for the university. But really they're
both yesterday for me, you know. I mean, I'm just
thinking of straight up Mark Pope and what we're gonna

(23:13):
do this year.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Okay, George, did you hear that? Politics come out of Roger.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
No, No, that's who I am.

Speaker 5 (23:24):
That's who I am.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
George is gonna greet George.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Derek Anderson played for coach Betinos, so George is favorable
to that era.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Also correct or not?

Speaker 3 (23:32):
George?

Speaker 5 (23:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Right, cal Zero Rix era? Which one do you like
the best of Kentucky? Both great errors, both both turned
around programs. Both you're going with Rick, You're going with
Swaggy Cow. Come on, George, I'm going with Swaggy Cow.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
Well, like I said, I think both of my great coaches.
I got to see both of them do work when
Derek was there because, like I said, Massachusetts we had
to beat them twice in that year. You know, I mean,
so I know that both great coaches, but I like
I like Rick what he's done in the UK. But
like I said, you know, I'm with my man. I think, uh,
what Pok is doing is sitting his own market. I

(24:11):
was there with Pop, so I like Poke. Also, so
you know I'm gonna get political too. I'm gonna ride with.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Pope off Rup So I can just have the whole
thing wrapped up. Just say you like Ate off Rupper
and so that we just pl.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
No, I have to stop. Rick left the program better
off when he left. He left it.

Speaker 7 (24:36):
When he left it was better off than when he
found it. I'm not sure you say that about Kyle Perry.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
I meant it was it was granted, it was Billy
g I'm gonna tell you this.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
Okay, I agree with that statement. But here's why Cali
Perry had job offers to go other places. He didn't
leave Kentucky when Kentucky was rolling, coach Matino left.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
Don't forget that that man went to Boston.

Speaker 5 (25:00):
He got the money, he left Kyle state.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
That's all I want you to know. Roger.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
Kyle left also with it at taking the money and
did not Yes, Jared O.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Well but you know, not in Boston Celtic. Right, he
went to the Boston Celtics. Okay, you know what I mean.
So I think everybody I was, Yeah, I was disappointed.
It was his next decision after that that like broke
everybody's heart. Right when he came back went to Louisville.
We don't need to rehash that. You don't need to

(25:34):
rehab that.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
We don't need to rehash that. Yeah, jumping and down
about that.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
Yes, what I disagree with Cayle with that. Now I'm
gonna go get my money, you know what I mean,
because I know there's no laws here for it. So
I'm don't get paid. I don't care how much you
don't like him, but I'm getting paid.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
Okay, you know Carol was underpay the Kentucky So guys,
we're at seven thirty six.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
We gotta get the break. I gotta pay some bills.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
Roger when we come back, I'm have you give me
the rest of your bracket and then we're gonna let
you go.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
We got the one that on the Roger Harten on
the line. Bempa.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
Oh, I can't believe Roger's political. Hey, George, I can't
believe Roger got political on this. Eve Sports Radio will
be back in a second. Welcome back to Eves Sports
Radio seven point thirty nine. I've got Roger Hart and
George William and Anthony's hold up an your opinion? Your
opinion on the coaches? Any who?

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Do you like? Cala Perry or Rick Patino?

Speaker 5 (26:36):
I think i've max.

Speaker 6 (26:40):
Here. Okay, good, yeah, no, I'll definitely say I have
to pick Cali Perry. But I know cal Perry a
little bit more than I did Rick Patino, I never
really met I actually never met Rick Patino. It's twenty
that sounds I did. It was maybe one time when
I was younger. But I've been a couple of coach
cal practices. Obviously I've met his son before. I think

(27:02):
coach cayl is I think he's a phenomenal person. I
know a lot of people give him, give him a
lot of the lot of the little bit of the
cold shoulder, just because his coaching doesn't always come up
the standards what people's expectations are. But I think even
outside the coach and I still think he's a great guy,
phenomenal person on and.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
Off the court.

Speaker 6 (27:18):
He might not be the best exes and TH's coach,
but he does prepare kids for the next level. It
helps him be successful, so that I will give him
credit for Rick is a phenomenal coach. He's he's definitely
a Hall of Famer coach. I'll give him credit on that.
But I think the reason why obviously he had to
vacate Louisville is because some of his stuff that he
was doing off the court as well, and there was
a big factor for the decision that you had to

(27:41):
make going forward having to leave Rick Betino and him
going on into another venture.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
So I still have to pick coach Cal.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
They both had.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
They both had they.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
No question, both have, Roger. I'm glad you're mad enough
to say that, George.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
What you got there? I just thought about it. I
gotta go with a cow you and you had to
go with Cal. But for this decision alone, Kyle left
for thirty five million on the on the board, you
know what I mean. So for the guy who reads
thirty five million in the war, I got to ride on.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
George.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
Hey, guys, I'm gonna read you all this, Roger. All
I'm gonna say to you all is this. Yes, our
personal friends with John Caliperry Rogers since Golle nineteen eighty.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Five or six.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
We met and then we started going back and forth
from pro to college. In ninety four or five six,
I went from Howard to the Nets and he was
bouncing back and forth. Is when we really became good friends.
But here's the deal, guys, if Cale had only stayed
eight years like Patino, his accomplishments might have been better.
In my point, Here you go Patino four final fours,

(28:58):
two NETS Championship games, one time. All six Elite Eights
got me. He also owned Rick. Those are cal Now
let me say it again, Caliperry. Four final fours, two
nation Ship Games, one title, six Elite Eights.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Guys. If he'd have left in eight.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
Years, Uh, Roger, I had to lean a little bit
towards Swaggy and he owns coach Rick Bettino. He's a
government mule. He's already stamped him on the butt. It's
all there is to it. I know people hated, but Roger,
let's get to what you think about these games. I
didn't mean to give you a hard time, right, but Roger,

(29:37):
I know you are. You're big boy stuff out here.

Speaker 5 (29:41):
Talk to me when I was balling and everything.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
Really, Hey, okay, I'm gonna let you tell people. I
will have you tell people because they don't believe me.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Roger.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
We were at the bracketology together and Lancaster Gordon told
you the story about when Derek Smith was laying on
the ground at a b the game before the Final four,
after you'd be had just beat Virginia and he laid
on the floor. You know, Derek, he loved to be
an actor. I got tired of it and I walked
down in front of their bench and ask his you
know what, are you gonna play a lay on the floor,

(30:13):
and Derek told you what happened.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
We were coming back to the huddle. Tell everybody the story.
Please rock it.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
No, I don't know what you talk I'm drawing a
blank on that.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
All the time.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
When we were talking about Derek and I came by
cursing each other out and you couldn't believe it on
the floor. Yeah to Derek to get up. Yes, you
remember Lancaster was telling you the story. You said, y'all
were too wild. It is what it was. We were
both seniors. And Derek got hitting in the mouth with
it now, but he did, but he laid Doctor Ellis
went down there.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
I thought they had changed the tooth.

Speaker 4 (30:46):
It took so long, So George I walked from our
huddle all the way down in front of their bench
and asked, Derek, are you gonna play a leave? And
he started cursing me out, and we walked back to
the huddle straight up, side by side, cursing each other
out the entire way U A B's players. Olive Robinson
still talks about the story today. So anyway, let's get

(31:08):
to it.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Everybody says that love all that love stuff.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
George, we had to win the game. What you're gonna do?

Speaker 5 (31:16):
You know? The four alone? I don't.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Yes, So Roger Auburn, Michigan, who are you going with?

Speaker 3 (31:27):
I like Auburn.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
I like Auburn.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
I think they just got too much. They got too much.
Michigan's good, but I just think they're getting ready to
experience a different level of mentality, uh ability on both
sides of the ball. Uh they even though they lost
two of their last what three of their last four

(31:51):
going into the tournament, I think they've re established their
mojo and they're on a mission. So they're dangerous.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
So I like Auburn, Michigan State, old miss, I.

Speaker 5 (32:04):
Actually go ahead.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
I actually like after last night, I kind of like
Old Miss that. I mean, I think everybody was a
little surprised last night. But Michigan State's really good. I
thought New Mexico played him as bad as good as
you could have coming out.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
Of what the whack?

Speaker 2 (32:20):
Are they the whack?

Speaker 3 (32:21):
I thought, you know, with Richard's resources, et cetera, et cetera,
I think he did a great job at New Mexico,
And you know, played him extremely well first half. I
think Michigan State just had a different level player that
showed up late in the game, and you know, he
just couldn't. You can't close the game like that. So
but but I actually think Old Miss they're not Michigan

(32:44):
State's not gonna show Old Miss anything they haven't seen.
So I like Old Miss.

Speaker 5 (32:50):
Florida, Marerica.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
Yeah, I like Florida. I think Maryland's good, but they're young,
They're a little young. I don't think they're quite as
deep as Florida. I do like Willard. I think he's great.
He'll have him ready, he'll have a great game plan,
But I just think Florida's gonna be a little too
much for him.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Takes Tech Arkansas, well, I don't.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Know much about Texas Tech. I'll be honest with you.
I don't think I watched one. If you're if you're
gonna come out and you're gonna go mand Man against Arkansas,
you're probably gonna lose. Okay, So Kansas, Bill Souff was
the only smartest guy. He didn't have quite the team
I thought that Arkansas had.

Speaker 5 (33:33):
He goes to his.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Own with twelve minutes to go, He's down by about
twelve or fourteen, they had a chance at the end
of the game to win. But if you're gonna, if
you're gonna Man Wagner and and Boogie and some of
those guys, they're they're gonna get to the rack on
you and they're gonna cause problems. They're gonna get you
in foul trouble. So if Texas Tech's one of those

(33:54):
straight Mando Man got you know coaches that comes out,
I don't even know who the coach is at Tech.
I couldn't tell you anything about that.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
Dobody, Yeah, you don't know. I don't either, being honest with.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
You, no, no, but obviously yeah, obviously they've had a
good year. But if you come out and you're and
you're gonna, you know, try to play that you know
that dogma we only play Manda Man, which I thought
coach Beatino. I don't know that he's ever zoned either,
But uh, you're you're you're probably gonna.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
Yeah, let's be a Duke Arizona know a lot about Bothzona.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
I like Duke, you know, I like Duke. I don't
buy Duke being you know, just gonna walk through the tournament.
Uh so I like Duke against you know, those West
Coast games, those West Coast teams, Zona and Uh, I
think they you know lately they they played well. Loud
Olson ain't around anymore, So I'm not sure you know

(34:56):
what they can do in the tournament. And then you know,
I like Fama feat B. Why you I think B
why you likes to run and shoot the three? Well,
they getting ready to find out another level of that
of that philosophy when they got Alabama, Yeah, they're gonna
run out. I like Houston. I mean they got both
sides of the ball. I mean, you know, coach Sampson

(35:19):
I think is just amazing. I like the way he coaches.
I like him as a person. I like what he
stands for.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
You can see it's ingrained in their guys. They're not
gonna break. They're not They're coming out. They're not gonna break.

Speaker 5 (35:36):
Often.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
No, you you gotta be a whole lot better than them.
And and their mentality is very difficult to play against.
So I think they break. I think they beat Purdue,
and I like, I genuinely like Kentucky against Tennessee.

Speaker 4 (35:49):
Okay, Roger, Yeah, we appreciate you coming on, young man.
I'm ashamed that George Williams gave you such a hard time.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
I really am. I'm gonna have to talk to George
about that. Roger.

Speaker 5 (35:58):
I am no. I enjoyed it. I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
I love coming on and thanks for letting me come on.
And uh, it's always good. It's always good to be
able to talk ball guys that kind of probably see
the world from my perspective, and and and and what's
going on. But I appreciate it, Joe, you guys have
a blessed day, all right, all.

Speaker 5 (36:21):
Right, Rogers. Roger, he's a little brother, and he had
to come out and give you a hard time because
they don't know what we go through and win the championship.
They don't get that that often, you know, in the
last fifteen years. I don't know they've been there. But anyway, Roger,
I didn't give you a hard time because we are
in big Blue nation together.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
George, Roger knows I got my ring. I saw it
yesterday nineteen eighty brother, love your brother.

Speaker 5 (36:50):
I win a new sentry. Now, I win a new century. Now.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
George, you're older than I am, so we're talking about
our age.

Speaker 5 (36:57):
I there, I keep telling if you ain't oh you
ain't here.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
Exactly, Joys, Lady Roger Harden appreciate you, brother E. Sports
Radio will be back after the break. Great job, man,
and George. We appreciate Roger coming on. George. Here's the problem.

Speaker 4 (37:14):
TCU eighty five, Haley Van Louisville seventy, Kansas State eighty,
Kentucky seventy nine. Both of our women's programs are now
out of the NCAA. George, you watch this weekend? What
do you want last words of yours? What do you
want to talk about? Get it out?

Speaker 5 (37:32):
What did you say? What I watched this weekend?

Speaker 2 (37:34):
Yes, all the games?

Speaker 5 (37:36):
Watch well, Jared. I just love the great competitiveness of
the NCAA and when it brings out for the players,
even with the coaches. I mean, you know Rick Matino
and Cal was fired up to play one another. That
that was allow. I just and I love the women's
game has come on so far and they're doing a
fantastic guy. I just, I just, I'm I'm spell bound

(37:58):
by the NCAA Basketball Championship. I don't know what it
is about it. Like Andy said, we go it just
spells bout you by the great things you see by
the upsets, by the wins, how the players take it.
I love the look coach that came in when his
little boy and said, you know, we lost this, but
we hope to be back again. I mean that as
episode they did on the coaches who lose. I thought

(38:19):
that was fantastic.

Speaker 4 (38:20):
I agree, Anthony, what do you think brother? Last weekend?
Great game, great weekend.

Speaker 6 (38:28):
It's It's all I can say is it's NCAA tournament
a heck of a time. It's it's something that just
you couldn't write down and make up if you tried.
It's just game winners, exciting upsets like it's it's just
the thrill. It's the atmosphere of the NCAA tournament is unmatched,
and I think it's better than any other event that
goes on. It's better than the NBA Finals in my opinion,

(38:48):
It's better than the super Bowl because it's just not
one game that you're sitting there depicting on. It's a
whole tournament. There's different matchups going on, different conferences and things.
The biggest thing I like seeing is matchups that you
don't see on.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
A regular basis. That's the best thing.

Speaker 6 (39:01):
So you see teams that don't normally play each other.
You see matchups that kind of make you wonder and think,
you know, how's the outcome gonna come a game? How
are they going to match up against this team? Different
play styles coming to factor, and obviously different coaches meeting
for the first time. So the NCAA tournament brings out
the best in a lot of players, and it gives
young kids, high school kids, even older guys now the

(39:22):
opportunity to make a name for themselves and.

Speaker 5 (39:24):
Go out there and shine and turn into superstars. Jee.
I think that's the most important. One and done. That's
what I love about it, The one and done. When
I go home, baby.

Speaker 4 (39:33):
When I when I go home, baby, it is when
I go home. Guys, tomorrow, we're gonna start out George
and yeah, you already know this, but I'm gonna give
everybody my editorial on coach Danny Hurley and George. If
I hear anything no more hypocrites on the sports radio.

(39:53):
Have I hear anything about players behavior and what we
should do to players? And colors are always wanting to
jump on players. Coach Danny Hurley is off the chain
needs to be dealt It needs to be dealt with, George.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
But you know, it's cute along that Hurley. It's cute
when it's Danny Hurley, or or when other coaches.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
It's cute when Bobby Knight's acting a true back of
a horse's but everybody knows but it's not. But if
it's a player, oh, everything's completely different. And I'm going
to give you my view on it tomorrow. Great show, guys,
love you all, God willing, I'll be back tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Bye bye
