to the show.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Hey, good morning, how are you?

Speaker 3 (01:07):
And I'm good.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
I'm pumped getting my golf, getting my golf swing together.
That's all I know. It's golf season. That's all period
point blank. If you can't handle it, step off the show.
It's golf season, Anthony.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
That's all.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
College basketball's done. College football is done. Baseball season is beginning. Yes,
we are going to get into a little bit that
in an NBA. I will start watching the NBA. Now
I do watch the playoffs. But man, we got to
bring on our second co host. He's been with me
for a shoot eight years. He took a vacation day Friday. Also,
we have to take our days off like that. You know,

(01:44):
we just can't fight every day. Chant and bring on
that other guy, you know who? Ring Who? George?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
What? What's your name? Did I introduce you correctly?

Speaker 4 (01:58):
And lad? Your daddy is an athletic director. And I
got a radio show because comedy would not its fortefoy,
y'all would have starved to death. You a devil light.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
George to death, George. I thought that was pretty good. Ring.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
What George said for you, I thought it was real good.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Hey, baby, we got to open this thing up on Monday,
and then George, we gotta open it up. Now here's
the deal, George, We're gonna jump into the master strong.
Shannon's got some audio. We're gonna listen to. But before then,
I want both of you all. I'm telling you what
less this weekend. I just missed thunder. I missed it, George.
I mean I missed it. I missed the planes. I

(02:48):
missed watching the people down on the waterfront. I know
the vendors missed prime opportunity to make hundreds of dollars.
People in enjoying themselves cooking out. Why I missed it, George,
I really did. It was like, hmm, something's just not
right boy, the flood I hope. Oh oh, George, I'm

(03:09):
so glad. Anthony, I am so glad. I had almost forgotten.
I really had. But dearios, everyone knows Mike Vin and
Duros were.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
My first two sponsors. Then Republic Bank that I asked
to sponsor my show.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
They said yes, and Vic's wife sent me a text
making a statement that they're having Hey, I've got to
find this a fundraiser. Okay, right here on River Road,
down the street from my house. They're having a fundraiser
for all the restaurants that have been flooded and have

(03:46):
lost profits.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
So here it is. I just want you to know.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Hey, Jerry, this is Stephanie Dearieol that's Vic's wife. Really nice.
She runs the urios really close to Trinity High. Our
Prospect location is hosting a fundraiser to benefit the employees
of the Prospect River restaurants that were closed due to
the flood Tuesday, April fifteenth. We planned to have live

(04:12):
music and some auction items, and we're doing a donation
a large percentage of sales for the day. We're also
setting up a GoFundMe. I was wanting me to announce this.
I asked her if she would call in and she
said someone will now, Guys, Tuesday, April fifteenth is the day.
Right down the street, right here on River Road. It's

(04:33):
a foot wedge from River Road in US forty two.
You can't miss it on the right hand side. But
they're doing a fundraiser, and we know there's so many
restaurants that had to close. From Captain's Quarters to my
other sponsor, River Road Barbecue, Christy, I'm waiting. I'm hoping
they do well. Their entire building was enclosed in water.
I'm just hoping that people can rebuild and restart. But

(04:55):
what a great gesture. So I wanted to make sure
we got that out guys that yes, next Tuesday, April fifteenth,
we plan to have live music and some auction items,
and they're trying to raise money for the employees for
the restaurants that missed out on all of thunder and
all the sales and all the damage. And guys, you know,
mother nature, we just have to continue to push on.

(05:17):
It's nobody's fault. Mother nature is mother nature. But I
wanted to make sure we got that out. So guys,
when you're around town telling people, tell them the fifteen,
the prospect location of the Oriols is going to be
doing something for all the other employees and all the
other restaurants on River Road. So great gesture, Stephanie, great gesture,

(05:38):
Vic and Lourie some of my best. Honestly, I've known
them now for ten plus years and they're great people.
So let's make sure we try to help them raise
money for these other employees.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Because George has been devastating. What do you think I
mean of the flood and what happened to thunder? George?

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Well, Jerry, I think the flood is devastating. You know
what I mean? You know, I mean? What can you say?
I mean when you would look at thirty thirty five
feet of wadding. You look at people out of business
and and things like this. But this lady told me
some one time, Jerry, that I think that we don't
look at you know, because God works in mysterious ways.
And she said, George, you know it's devastating. It is here,

(06:18):
somewhere else is creating jobs. You know, else is gonna
benefit off of what you know, you look at damage
and somewhere else. So sometimes you got to look at
the good that's going out of the badge her and
we don't want this to happen. And you know, like
my partner and stuff that almost got his house, and
you know, it's a terrible thing. But you know, I
just I always think about lives lost when you come

(06:39):
to this kind of thing. And we were very very fortunate, Jerry,
not to lose people.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
So you know seven we lost seven, George, we lost seven.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Your think about how devastating that it was, Jarry, for
seven people with that devastation. I mean, you know, I
know it's a loss of a loss. Now I pray
for those who did lose, But when you're having that
kind of day as stations, yeah, you look at how
many people there was in last and you know, and
we just talked about popic because we own nothing, that
we just ran everything we got because we're all gonna leave,

(07:08):
and when we leave, it leaves too. I mean, it's
still gonna.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Be here and we don't so point taking George absolutely
throughout the state, guys. I mean, just devastation.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Anthony.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
I know you enjoyed Thunder, You've gone numerous times. What
did you think, No, Thunder?

Speaker 5 (07:26):
It's definitely different.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
You know.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
I used to say that even when I was in
the school, always felt that Thunder was kind of like
the kickoff to the summer. You know, the weather's starting
to warm up, you got the air show, a lot
of festivities going on downtown within a couple of weeks
leading up to Derby. Obviously a lot of people are
getting out of college, graduation, high schools are getting out
seen with middle schools and even elementary.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
So it's it's kind of I like to say that
jump start. So missing out on Thunder was it did.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Suck a little bit, and the weather was beautiful Saturday.

Speaker 5 (07:55):
Which made it even worse. So I was like, I
was like, you know, the water friend is still in,
It is still in shambles right now.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
But I was like, man, I would love to see
the air show. I love I love seeing the air show.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
I don't know why.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
I'm like a little kid when it comes out to it, but.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
So am I I think everyone else. The air Show
justice just a true great tradition. It will be back
next year. We just hope that we are. But great loss.
It was missed, no question, guys. So what we've got?

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Gentlemen?

Speaker 1 (08:23):
So I'm fourteen, Shannon, I want you to play the clip,
not yet, but it's of course the last two, the
last two.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
It's so funny because my wife walks up on.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Me and she's playing our show, and I can't talk
when I hear myself.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
It's the craziest thing. I just can't.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
I can talk if someone else's but when I hear myself, boy,
I was just like, oh, a cringe. But we're going
to listen to one of the greatest Master's finishes ever, guys,
I mean ever. Roy McElroy finally, at age thirty five,
gets the Green jacket. Also, he's the sixth person to

(09:04):
win the Grand Slam in golf. Justin Rose has led
more Masters than any golfer, not to have won. One
makes a great serge the last seven holes to put
himself in contention.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
We have a super playoff. You're gonna listen to it.
You'll hear Jim.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Nance describing and what's going on. And of course everyone
knows who is the winner. But I want us to
hear that before we go to break. So Sho didn't
play at force.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Police hits right that. So the hole.

Speaker 6 (09:47):
Actually a little unlucky though that stuff right day thought
it would have said back a cup of feet, this
isn't going right, might be.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Got right at it should come back that up the slope.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
Oh my goodness, the door is open again.

Speaker 7 (10:37):
The journey it's taken to get here, for all this history, the.

Speaker 6 (10:47):
Lad the journey on suffer mack Away. That's his masterpiece.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Seven seventeen. It's Eve Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
We'll be back with Anthony the Eaves and of course
George Williams ring you.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
His correct pronunciation of his last name is ring You.
We'll be back.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
After this report is sponsored by Staples Stores. Welcome back
to Eve Sports Radio. Yes it is seven twenty it is, can.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
You believe it?

Speaker 1 (11:24):
The fourteenth of April. Derby will be upon us very soon.
But George Anthony. I know, Anthony, you watched it with George.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
I know you don't watch golf. Go ahead, what you.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Got now, Jed, I was gonna you know, you were
talking about the flood waters and how it was flooding. Jerry.
I told you my friend lives down by the flood
wall and the water was in his backyard almost to
azure when that water receated. Jed, I mean, the whole
golf course at Shiny Park was just covered. You couldn't
see nothing, no posing, no nothing. His whole backyard was

(11:57):
covered when that water receated. Jed would like to man
took a plug out of a tub and just said
it was the most amazing thing. And I see it
all the time, but it's just the most amazing thing
to watch how water can receive as fast as it
comes in.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Yep, power of water, George.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
I mean, golly, the clean up all over the city
along the river is just I mean, just a nightmare.
So I mean all the restaurants, George is just gonna
be a nightmare. But I mean we will come back.
We will bounce back, George. We will bounced, Yes, George.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
The power of water, you just can't pay.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
It's frightening, but I mean, we just now it's time
to rebuild everyone. Hopefully everybody is safe. That's throughout the state.
Seven people lives are lost, may have been more, but
the city of Louisville. We just have to rebuild and
get started. And Derby's around the corner and the horses
are running. Keenland is open, George and it's Derby time.
So guys, boy, that Masters yesterday, Anthony, you watched it,

(13:01):
your opinion? Did you think Roy McRoy had given it
away again?

Speaker 5 (13:07):
He got close? Obviously he was playing on that cuss
line a little bit between him and the Shamba was
a lot.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Of fluctuation with him. The first probably i'd say five
to stick poles was a big roller coaster ride. We
both fell asleep.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
I'm not gonna lie for about a solid five to
six holes. I woke up and they were on seventeen.
I didn't know what happened.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
He wasn't leading anymore. I thought he wasn't leading anymore.
I was like, what did I miss? What happened? He
was up three strokes on the Shamba. Shamba wasn't even
in the top five anymore. Roy McRoy was minus ten,
Justin Rose was back in first place. I said, I
missed a lot apparently. I said, this isn't a recap
of a Friday or Saturday, is it? Because this is

(13:48):
what it looks like.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
It was crazy. I'm gonna be honest. For a three
host swing, I've never seen anything like it. But Roy McElroy, Well, George,
you talking about a player that can completely lose his
folks and be the best in the world at it.
He and Scottie Shuffler, they're the best. But Rory can
lose his focus and has done it so many times,
George for a three whole stretch that you can't believe,

(14:11):
or missed the putt that he missed on eighteen that
would have won it in regulation. He does it all
the time, George, all the time.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Well, then I know what done that? On pup punt, Jerry,
I always keep my focus twenty minutes saying I'm still
going song, Jack, I'm still going to That's what I
should have had the time day. You can edit close
down Jack, the clothes on my down, Jay, that wasn't
Maybe they got you for the baggies.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
You couldn't go for the Grand Slam, George.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
I understand that I waited ten years to win this.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
That's something wrong with you.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
Boy.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
I'm trying to tell you the Masters.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
The US Open Championship, the British Open, and then the
US guys. It's just crazy and they've got thrown in
the PG.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
George.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
There's so many great tournaments, but you're a hundred percent
right putt putt. I may be able to get it down. Also,
George will have to pick us for putt putt places
and starting to have some put tournaments, George, we may
have people show up that.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
George.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
We're gonna do that one day, Anthony, We're gonna have
one Saturday. We're gonna go somewhere and have a put
putt challenge. Without a doubt. We're gonna invite everyone. That'll
be crazy, but guys, I'm just happy for Rory.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
He is it.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Yes, it could, George. I'm coming for you no matter what, George,
I'm coming for you. Tinley winks out of the hippopotamus mouth, George,
I know all about that hippopottomus mouth.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Just waiting.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
It's all George is sick.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
But you know what, guys, only six players George have
won all four I heard, yeah, Ben Hogan, Gary Player,
Jack Nicholas the greatest, Tiger Woods the second greatest, and
Rory mceroy.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
That's it. No one else is went all four. Just
think of this.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Phil Mickelson's close, but he's never won the US. Ope
and George and he's good. He's left, feels good you.
He ran to the Live Tour. I didn't like him
running to the Live Tour. But he's got skills. The
boy can play. He can hit every shot. He's another.
Here's the problem with golf, George. People don't understand different
than team sports. I played team sports. You did, Anthony.

(16:31):
You can lose your focus for a second or two,
but you got four other teammates to carry you. George
and golf and tennis.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
George.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
When you lose your focus, you pull Ory. You go
from up three strokes to down one and two hoes
the entire turn. It's four and a half hours of
each swing. George is critical. They cannot lose their focus.
It's an individual sport and you could see it. It
plays on all of them, George, it plays on all

(16:59):
of them. They start to crack, they get tired, and George,
it is every stroke, one stroke, George in the game
of golf, Anthony tell the truth, George, Anthony can really
hit the ball. He and Frank can really play right.
And George, I'm gonna be honest, I talked junk when
I beat Frank. Frank crushed me yesterday. He crushed me
out into Harmony landing.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
He crushed meats move.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
I know. But they can really play. But Anthony tell them.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
You can lose your focus from two pars in a
row to the next hole you shoot to eight?

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Is that a correct ann Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
I mean you're speaking from your own experience too.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Forget you little.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
Pump, George, George, forget you a little pup.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
If you said some bad words on the radio, you too.
I took what you did.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
To George all to no end, and we don't know.
That's why you're laughing harder. J It's the placement of
that bout. How the guys place that ball in the course, man,
and just uh, that's what made me about golf once.
Of some guys just put that ball right the way
they almost wanted. George.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
They're hitting that little ball three hundred yards and like
you say, and putting it where they wanted. I mean
absolutely trying to hit it in the spot on the
fairway that they wanted three hundred yards away. It's George's
it's unbelievable what they do.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
It is not that's the case. I'm throwing your golf
to your golfer. Scrambled, Jerry. Watching what they do and
your golf Scrambled. I've learned a lot.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
I mean, no, no, no golf.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
It's a big ban bad.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
You're right at bad golfers, George.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
We have a lot of bad golfers in our corporate scrambled, George.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
We raised money though, and.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
They really they hit that bar and that swing goes, Oh,
it's unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Put George. Two years ago.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Two years ago, we had players hit it not holding ones,
but they hit it in on fours eagles, George. They
were hitting them in from the fairway from one hundred
and twenty out.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
It was crazy. Two of them, young men, young kids.
It's amazing.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
Chris Brown brought a young man that hit a hold
in one and I think he was sixteen years old.
Chris Brown runs Ellenn Everyone knows they're they're the ones
that the stadiums named after, L and N Credit Union.
He does a great job there. He's back in the tournament,
but he brought a young man that hit one in.
And David Stanley, one of my teammates at Ballard, had
a young man hit one in. I mean, George, we

(19:32):
got some quality players out there, I mean really quality players.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Wow. So yeah, some jer I think something and then
I've seen some that you know, saw like you.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Hold up now, Georgia. I took the insult from Anthony
because he's young. Now, George, if you and I got
to meet at four feet live, sell some tickets.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
We can do what we getn't have to do.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
I'm still Sanny Shannon, Shannon gotta sell out. Just as
soon as I get you in standing in the ring,
I'm going I'm up there.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Not go happen. That's okay, that's okay.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
I'll stay away from that one. So now let's go back, Anthony.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
Okay, how many times.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Have you lost your focus on a golf course after
two or three great holes? How hard it is it
to keep your focus? I only play nine, George, but
Andy and Frank you will play eighteen. How hard is it, Anthony?

Speaker 2 (20:23):
It's hard. It's it's difficult on the back nine too.

Speaker 5 (20:26):
I've had rounds where I played Phena, i'men on.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
The front nine the back nine.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
It just didn't translate over and obviously usually the back
nine as hard as the front nine.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
But I don't know.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
When your legs get a little tired, you get a
little mentally fatigue, you'll check out.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
For one shot and not one shot is the one
that you.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
Shank into the trees and you get an eight on
that hole.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
It happens quick m I mean, George, it's a very
difficult sport. I'm telling you, George, I played tennis with
Derek Smith all the time. When we stopped playing, when
we were assistant coaches in NBA Monica and Derek she
laid I we played tennis.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
All over the country. We played all the time, and
I went from being.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Awful to where I killed coach Beard quickly. I picked
it up quickly, Georgie, I did, Hey, don't maybe bring
him on. But he'll tell you, George, he bought me
dinners as an assistant coach all over the country because
he couldn't beat me and he had been playing for
a long time.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
That's the truth. God's out the truth, you all.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
But we also know, guys, every time.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Hold up, George. Great, we got to hold Look we
have got I'm so glad, Laurie. Welcome to the Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
How are you well?

Speaker 8 (21:34):
Good morning, Jerry. Thanks for having me on.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Oh, no question, Laurie. We introduced it and I read
what you said. I'm so glad. I knew Stephanie wouldn't,
but I knew you would. Guys, this is Lorie, the
voice of the Orioles. I mean, she's an auctioneer, she's gorgeous,
she got great kids.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
They're doing well. What's going on, Lori?

Speaker 8 (21:51):
Well, Jerry, thanks so much? What's not going on in
our world? Right? We have so many things, amazing things happening.
But thankful for the privilege to come on your show
and to share some amazing information that we have an
event on Tuesday because of the recent flooding. We wanted
to babisically show our amazing support to all of those
restaurants and our fellow restaurants and all the servers and

(22:13):
staff that were suffering because as a result of the flooding,
and we know it's going to be a long time
to get those things up and running, and so we
are having an amazing benefit. We're calling it flooded, not
forgotten on River Road Relief, but at our Prospect location.
So on Tuesday tomorrow, actually from nine to ten, we're

(22:33):
going to have a fundraiser. And we're so amazed at
just the outpoint of generosity. You know, when we opened
that location and Prospect, we were absolutely embraced and the
people were amazing, and this you know, when we're seeing
how the restaurants were affected, we just want to show
our support and we want to support all of those
amazing restaurants. And we're excited because we have a huge

(22:56):
outpouring of love from our community that want to support
all of those staff and servers and making sure that
those people are taken care of for sure.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
So yeah, we'll be there.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
We announced it earlier this morning, but I'm glad you
told me the time. So it's tomorrow from nine to.

Speaker 8 (23:11):
Ten, correct, So it's from nine nine am. We have breakfast,
which is amazing and a lot of people don't have
to know that, but we have breakfast. So from nine
am to ten pm tomorrow at our Prospect location. Now,
I will say, Jared, we have all this information on
our Facebook page. However, Parking, I know we are expecting

(23:31):
a lot of a lot of people. So we're very
thankful for that. So just be said patient with that.
But we do have some offsite that is going to
be available. We have the back section of Kroger on
cars Law, and we have the church and then we
have Morley Roofing is you might want to uber have
some patients. But we are looking forward to an amazing

(23:53):
crowd to show their support for these restaurants, and we
have a go fund me. So it's just an amazing
opportunity for us to be able to support our fellow
restaurant and we're so thankful for the opportunity and helping
these you know, just extending that branch of hope to
get those people back on their feet and give them
a little bit of love from our community from Deurios.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
So yeah, what a great idea. Lord of course you
all did the givingness. I told people, Laurie, I walked
up on Vicky. I'd never met Vic before in my life.
I said, I'm going to try to start a radio show.
You sponsored me. I said, sure, no problem, honestly, Republic Bank,
blue Grass, Audie and you all were my top first three.
I was like, oh, this is easy. Then people started

(24:32):
telling me, no, Lurie, it happened.

Speaker 8 (24:35):
But you know what we absolutely we always say if
you give good, you get good. And I mean this
is just this is this is our family. We've been
in this area forever, and we're so thankful that we
just you know, have this opportunity in a platform and
a location that we can bring together the community to
help everyone in our community. That's what you know, that's
what you do when things like this happened. So it's

(24:56):
just been wonderful. And Terry, I just love you to
death in your radio show. And you know, it's always
fun when you come in. It's always fun to get
a big ol'd hug and just sit in chat and
get you your piggy's life and just sit there and talk.
And so I always enjoy our time together. So thank
you so much for your friendship.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
You tell Martha.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
You let everybody know, Martha the hit shift is the
best designa in the country.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
You tell her I said hello.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
I will that will make her day.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Sure, you tell her I miss her when I come in, Oh.

Speaker 8 (25:27):
I will, I will. My eighty two year old mother
loves at Lasagna with all her heart, for sure, So
thank you I'll make sure I share that you tell it, Laurie.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
We appreciate you. We did it this morning. I will
do it again tomorrow to let people know. Of course,
they can park at the back of Kroger's, which is
straight down the little Coslow. They can park it Harrot's
Creek Church, which is down the street. I'm just gonna
ride my bike, Lurid, because you never have any parking space.
It's full, all Lurid. Jesus, It's full all the time.
So this is gonna be crazy.

Speaker 8 (25:58):
We need an uber. Yeah, you do.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Well.

Speaker 8 (26:04):
We have a great silent auction and amazing things happen.
And thanks so much, Jerry, no.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
No question, Thank you, Lori, thank you guys. Let's go
to break that's Lord de Orio Victoria and Dariel's PiZZ
and Pub. Guys River Road, please be there tomorrow. Let's
raise money for all the other restaurants. And of course,
good people always do good things. Esports Radio will be
back with George Williams He's crazy and Anthony Eves, who

(26:31):
finally told you I'm not the only one that loses
my focus on the golf course.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
There are a lot of people that do. We'll talk
to you all after the break.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Welcome back to Eves Sports Radio, George Williams, Anthony Eves.
Just so you all know, I having just a little
technical difficulty with our I don't know the app that
people listen to it on their phone, because I've got
numerous people that cannot hear us, but were all on
the radio, George, so they do know how crazy you
and Anthony are. So before we move, one question for you, Anthony.

(27:02):
I know, George, you're kind of like you're iffy, Anthony.
Does this win open it up for Roy McElroy to
win four or five six majors over the next two
or three years? Does he make a run? Does this
relieve him from the pressure of trying to win the
Grand Slam?

Speaker 2 (27:18):
I think it does a little bit in an aspect.

Speaker 5 (27:19):
It's still gonna be a difficult road winning a lot
of majors in general's already hard even just normal tournaments.
But I think this is a big weight off of
his shoulders getting that Grand Slam and win him the
green jacket. The only thing I will say, even with this, though,
he has to learn how to finish tournaments better from
the situation he was into going all the way to
a playoff from bogueying number eighteen when he was one

(27:41):
hundred and twenty five yards out and shanked it into
the sand. It's just in other tournaments he might not
get as lucky. That's all I can say in that situation. Gotcha,
but I think he's died Pronomer job. But he's just
got to be better finishing tournaments off. If he does
do that, because he's always in contention, I think he
can get it donehere. He can run a few more masters, exactly.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
I agree. So George, that's enough for George.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
We're gonna have us a putt putt this summer tournament.
That's a good idea, George, seriously, so we're gonna go fight.
I don't even know where there's a putt putt facility
in Louisville, George.

Speaker 3 (28:16):
They used to be everywhere.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
Couple I had. But I'll check into that.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Okay't do that, George, do that, because I don't know.
I don't know where the real real golf. Let's okay,
I can bring my I'll bring my putter.

Speaker 4 (28:29):
We can just jow up. We'll have a club for you.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
I don't need those old Ragney club Joe I need
a real putter. I'm coming to beat you.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
Oh, clubs better? Yeah, you really, I will.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Dog, let's do that, Joe, we have to do it
at me. We're gonna have us a putt but cher.
We just have to find a location if there are any.
Isn't that crazy, George?

Speaker 5 (28:52):
They have one. They got an indoor place.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
At ox floor.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Okay, Oh George, Oh George, it's all George. I will
go by. We're gonna set it up, no question. We're
gonna set it up. We're gonna invite people. We're gonna
have us a good time. George, it's on.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
We're gonna see what you've got, George Williams, mister ring you.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
I might get an injured Jerry. I don't know. I
might do it, Shann, Jerry, Jerry, I'm sorry, Shannon.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Yeah, I almost get hurt.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
I look forward to that. I got my trainer ready,
I'll be ready.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Okay, we're good, All right, guys.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
I'm not found enough puzzle though, Jared, I'm gonna tell
you that. Do I have to buy futher as? Just no,
you do not have to have, you know, but that's
all I need. I'm very in Oh, we don't got
me pumped up. There, You got me pumped up, baby.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
Okay, you know, George, we got a lot of things
going on.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
We've got the NFL Draft starts to twenty fourth through
twenty six, got me, that's right around the corner. Two
weeks we've got I am, I mean the NFL Draft.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
Excuse me, got a correct way. I am though, going
to watch the NBA.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
I am the playoffs. I do watch, George. I'm kind
of looking forward to it. What do y'all think, Anthony,
give us some of the some of the matchups for
the NBA playoffs that's get ready to start tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Yeah, of course, obviously some of the masters we do
have going on tomorrow. We have a lots of.

Speaker 5 (30:26):
The playoff games going on again, obviously they do have that.
So for some of the play and seeds that they
do have. Obviously they have the seven seed Warriors and
taking on the eight seed Grizzlies, and then the nine
seed is documental Kings against the ten seeded Dalla Mavericks
on the West side for those playing games.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
So they have it to where it's a.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
Little bit different. The seven and eight seeds are double elimination.
The nine in ten seeds are single elimination, so the
winner of the seven and eight seed game will just
be the seventh seed that plays the two seeded Houston Rockets.
The loser of that game will play the winner of
the eight and nine seed of the nine inten seed game.
Whoever wins that will play the one seed Oklahoma City Thunder,
and whoever loses that nine and ten seed game is

(31:04):
just eliminated from the playoffs in general.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Gotcha, George, you understand what any said? I kind of do.
It's confusing, George, I'm telling you the NBA is the best.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
Yeah, I'm putting down with it, you know. And I
was just talking to direct that got to go to
all these cities.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Man.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
You know the father playoffs. You know, he got a
job with the NBA and he was worked with the
younger players in the league, and he's on the road
for all these time of games.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
In the Chicago pre draft. George, Yes, I see there
every year in Chicago. I think that's the weekend I'm
going to get this year. That's the week of May.
The it's right after Derby. It's the week after Derby,
so it maybe no, No, it's two weeks after the Derby.
It's the eleventh through the six seventeen of May in
Chicago's he.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
Worked with the rookies and the incoming players. Okay, excellent,
excellent on that mental health.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
So okay, good, no, excellent, So yeah, Anthony, we got
a lot of great games.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
George.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Now, guys, they didn't do anything to John Moran. That
boy started throwing hangar and age. George Adam Silva just
is a straight punk. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I could
come up with better choice of words, but I'm not
trying to. He just doesn't get it done, and the
kid just doesn't understand what they're trying to get him

(32:24):
to do.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
George. Kids are watching him. I don't know why.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
Players don't understand that, and they just want him to
set an example during the games. I'm not saying that
that guy has to do everything after the game's right, George,
I'm not saying that he's like every other adult after
work and if he does something and whatever happens to
him legitimately should happen. But during the games, George, kids
admire what his God given talent is giving him.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
But for some reason, George, he won't give in.

Speaker 4 (32:54):
Go ahead, Yeah, it goes back to we we've been
saying for a long time. It did start at the
NBA level. This young man has been able to do
what he wanted all his life, whatever he thought he
wanted to do. People let him get away because of
the thing you just that is God giving basketball talent.
People will more rather win than to change your attitude

(33:17):
as long as it's for their benefit. Now this done
got to the point where it's on a national stage,
and you've seen how we've let him go. And now
all of a sudden, we think that this young man
is going to change his attitude overnight. So it didn't
start overnight, and it's not going to end overnight. And
I just hope for the best that this young man
understands what everybody's trying to tell him, that he could

(33:37):
come and he can be and get some of the
people around with the negativity away from him. And you know,
that's that's what certain him Jersey a lot.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
We know you're one hundred percent right. His dad is
straight off the chain. His dad is a thirteen year old. Also,
that's the problem.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
And that's fact. I mean, it's just it's just a fact, George.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
I just hope that he doesn't end up ruining in
his career and injuring himself because George, he just doesn't
seem to get it.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
But how many players with things, Jack, I mean players
I've seen. Let's let's talk about it. They have super
talents that could have went so far that that one
obstacle that can't ever overcome and take the mad the league.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Exactly, George, I want everybody to understand, because they're always
raving telling their kids to be professional athletes. Sixty five
percent of them, Alan Iverson included, as we well know,
are done. They are busted at thirty five years old.
That's amazing, but it's the truth, guys. So a lot
of things have to happen to help that league, to

(34:39):
help people understand what they need to do.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
It's just so much, so early, So Anthony, George.

Speaker 4 (34:45):
Go ahead and you said something just Aminga and Primes.
You got to wrap your arm around your young people
and let them know this is a business. At that end.
If you want to be successful, they're gonna have to
be good human beings. I'm not gonna You're not gonna
pay for a product that you So you gotta watch
the people that you run with, and you let your
children run with before they get to this level, because

(35:07):
it doesn't start overnight and you're the starting point, so
it starts at home and spreads about Jay. And you've
heard that many, many times for your dad, and many times.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
He does question. Absolutely, Georgia. I mean, that's just boy.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
There needs to be a reset, that's all because the
players are making astronomical money, George.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
And I've said it a million.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
Times, and I'm telling you, my dad told me I'll
never forget it. Money goes in your wallet, it doesn't
make you smart. And that's all the way to politicians,
you all. I don't care what anybody says. People if
you got money means you that is not true. The
bottom line is it. But it doesn't mean that you're smart.
It doesn't mean that you've educated yourself. It doesn't mean

(35:49):
that you have integrity. It just doesn't.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
We've seen that too many times.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
So uh, let's just don't always say because someone has
money means that they are successful.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
That is not a true state.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Is what you do with your money, like Vickan Lori
de Orio trying to help the community. It's what they
do with their money that really tells you if you're successful.
But bottom line is, George, you're right, America, where this
game started, is not watching professional basketball. That's a fact, period,
point blank. Twenty eight percent that we're watching Magic Johnson,

(36:22):
Larry Bird. There was one hundred percent people watching Michael Jordan.
Now there's twenty eight percent watching. Yes, the money's come
from abroad, George, but they need the players have to
get this right for the future players so that they
have the same opportunities that these guys have. That they
don't understand. There was a lot given the Butch Beards,
the west Son Sales, the Darryl Griffiths, the Jerry's, the

(36:43):
Rex Chapmans, you got me, the Sam Bowiez, the James,
the Jack gibbons Is, the Derrick Anderson.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Do you understand what I'm saying, George.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
A lot of players have given a lot for these
guys today and they're making a million dollars a game,
but they don't seem to understand it.

Speaker 3 (36:56):
They're arrogant, they are, George.

Speaker 4 (37:00):
What you're not saying and what America is not paying
attention to, the world may take their game over and
then iFIT from it worldwide and not just an American
game anymore because you look at the athletes and when
they're coming from Jerry, and you look at what the
people do in the international world. Jerry, that's why they
don't need the viewership. They don't they do now because

(37:20):
the rest of the world is doing this game. They
want this game. Look how many the countries are now
putting pro teams in them.

Speaker 1 (37:25):
Jay Oh, George players, so they're taking over the draft.
There's no question the European influence is here. We've said it, George.
We have spoke to the NBA players, the Rookie Council,
Paul Siuence and I did personally when I was coaching
with Charlotte and Cleveland coach Beard did it five years ago.
Until all the players coming in the rookies, they have
a seminar, guys, look at the European influence. But for

(37:48):
some reason, George, they just don't seem to get it.
I'm just being honest with you. They just seemed they're
missing the bunk. So, Jerry, as they lose their jobs,
they will get it. You're right, they will understand.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
Then.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
Hubie Brown was talking about that when Murky was playing
with the Colonel Jeded Hubie Brown had seen that vision
way back then and said, this is what the league
would do to you if you don't pay attention, because
the league don't make money, Jed, I don't care where
they make it from.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
They're gonna make money absolutely, yep, with or without you.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
But you're on a hundred percent correct, guys. It's seven
fifty one. When we come back, we're going to let
Anthony do his national news and we'll close it out
E Sports Radio five zero two, nine hundred.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
We'll talk to you in a minute.

Speaker 5 (38:33):
Welcome back to.

Speaker 3 (38:33):
The sports radio.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
We've got George Williams ring you know who, and Anthony's
on the line. Anthony, give me with a few little
bit more national news before we close this thing out.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
Yeah, I'm just getting too some of the stuff.

Speaker 5 (38:48):
One of the big things obviously, we all know.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
That Derby is coming back on May third.

Speaker 4 (38:52):
We'll be open up here.

Speaker 5 (38:54):
We'll be excited to look forward to that. Also, the
NFL Draft is going to be kicking off almost a
week before that. The draft is going to April twenty
fourth through the twenty six is gonna be in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Spctacular event. I'm ready to see a lot of where
these projections and people are gonna be sliding.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
In this draft.

Speaker 5 (39:11):
I feel like there's something that hasn't been overlooked, but
we actually haven't talked about it that much for it
to be coming up in two weeks.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
Obviously, a lot of teams.

Speaker 5 (39:18):
Already have the pro days, the pre draft comm guys,
a lot of people have moved up, a lot of
people slid. I don't even talking about a little bit later.
We talked about a little bit last week that a
lot of the analysts and reporters and scouts are given
Shradar Sanders such a tough time because he does the
ball pat on there, and they said that that's controversial
as a quarterback even though tons of quarterbacks do it.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
I'm gonna keep talking about it because it's kind of annoying.

Speaker 5 (39:40):
Like I just if you don't like the guy, just
say you don't like him.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
Don't throw out little stuff.

Speaker 5 (39:44):
He try to drop the draft stock that every quarterback
does in the NFL. Legends have done the NFL ball
tap on there because it's a rhythm thing.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
It's a rhythm that helps him for the throw, it
helps him with the release.

Speaker 5 (39:55):
He's not the only one tom Brady did it for
almost twenty years, so you can't sit there and say
that controversial. Now one of the greatest quarterback years ago.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
It's literally done his career.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
I don't like the guy, but he is the best.
Tom Brady is the best, period, point blank.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
Anthony. Yeah, you read my mind, and I was gonna
say that. Remember last week, Jay, we were talking about Lamar. Yes,
and they're doing the same thing. What's your you remember?
I keep telling you. They flood the media people, the
media hype. That's the way they keep the NFL in
the news. They gotta have one story every week that

(40:33):
they're gonna flood somebody with the guy they're gonna do.
When Lamar went to the drafted hands or too I
mean hands, too small and all these different things. I
think it was big and teddy. They find somebody.

Speaker 1 (40:47):
That's job, George, that's our job. We have to guys.
It's over again, George. Great job, Anthony, great job, George.
I'll speak with your money George Wednesday. Let me know
what you want to do. But of course we've got
any press conference Wednesday at Saint Steven's having a life center. No, no, no,
it's at Simmons College of Kentucky Administration Building.

Speaker 3 (41:08):
We're announcing a new men's basketball coach Wednesday, ten pm.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Be there at see you Jeorse, Anthony Ye Love you all,
Talk to you tomorrow, God willing, Bye bye
