Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to Eve Sports Radio seven o six. It
is April sixteenth, twenty twenty five, Wednesday. Of course, someday
I've got Shannon behind the glass. Phone numbers five zero two,
five seven to one, seventy nine hundred. This is Sports
Talk seven ninety KRD. I think I've got that out
(00:22):
of the way. Shannon, welcome to the show. Let's bring
all my younger son Shannon Anthony to the show. Anthony,
welcome to the Showy, how you're.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Doing this morning?
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Oh and it's a bad day. You know, It's just
a bad day when you get up and you have
to break out of your own home, Anthony, to turn
the sprinkler on for my grass to grow. Yes, I
do not have irrigation system, so I just turning on
my sprinkler at six and the Wi Fi was out
in the house, so I didn't want to have the
alarm go off and wake up everybody in the house,
(00:55):
Anthony and mother. I'm like, what the heck? It took
me forever to figure it out. Anthony, get that thing
to turn off. Getting I'm being honest with you, I've
got one of those ADT systems you all, And when
the Wi Fi went out. I'm like, I'm not a
computer literate. I'm just gonna have to turn down law.
But I figured it out, Anthony. It did not go off,
So I got that did that piece, came down hoping
(01:17):
my computer's WiFi would work. Now it's not working either,
So we're both calling in on the landline. Anthony. Things
just seemed to happen when we don't need them to happen.
So that's all. It was an eventful morning that's also
not on the usual regular schedule. But you know, Anthony,
we're professionals. We can handle it. Now, Let's get to
(01:39):
first thing first, Anthony, because we've got a lot of
things to get to. I mean, we've missed so many
things and we've got a lot of things to get to,
so I'm not gonna dwell on one topic is long.
But we are going to talk about Lamar not going
to Kentucky, Wilkinson, I'm not signing with Kentucky, and we're
gonna talk about Travis Hunter. Are two major events. We're
(02:01):
going to get into those a little bit, but there
are a lot of things I want to talk about
before that. And the first thing is that the the
Oriols event yesterday with Victorio Lori Diorio, the entire family, Stephanie,
Vick's wife, Vic's dad. Everybody was put to work. If
y'all didn't know it, and they're witnesses. Even though I
(02:24):
don't drink beer, I was handing out T shirts five
twenty dollars a T shirt raising money and five dollars
of beer. So Anthony, I told Laurie, I want to
be employer of a month. I want my picture up
in the Orioles and I want to be employee of
the month. I'm trying to tell you, but we had
(02:44):
a great time. A gentleman was helping me that lives
past me in the breakers and he was also helping me,
and we had a great time. We were dipping out
the beer, Anthony. Nothing. We were saying donations only Andy.
We were telling people take your wallets down and just
give you give us your money. And they were doing that, Anthony,
to support all the employees on River Road that are
(03:06):
not able to open up. They're still trying to clean
up their restaurants, the Pine Room, Captain's Quarters, cunning Hams,
all the restaurants on River Road that they were trying
to help. Yesterday, and did the people turn out, Anthony.
It was just crazy cars everywhere, people everywhere. It was
a little brisk outside look chili. But we had a
(03:26):
great time and a great fundraiser that men were people
walking in, Guys with power drills, say hey, brand new auction.
These off. My wife put a bit in, I don't
know if we go. I don't think we got it.
We're just our pocketbook's not big enough, Anthony. But there
were a lot of great silent auctions. There was music,
so Laurie Vic Stephanie, great job, like always. Duriel's is
(03:52):
a great place, great location right throw on River Road.
And that went really, really really well, Anthony. That's all
I can say. It went really well. So that was
first sake. You missed it though any other work, but
that's okay. I took care of business, Anthony. I took
care of business. So that was the first part. Second part, Anthony,
of the day is this. I've got a huge press
(04:14):
conference today at ten am. Huge, and I told all
the media outlets not to announce who my new men's
basketball coach was going to be. Anthony christ You try
to keep it a secret, kin like University of Louisville University, Kentucky.
Bring my coach out behind the backdrop. Let everybody see
for the first you know, keep it secret, Nah, I'm
(04:38):
announcing it. I'm announcing it right now. My new men's
basketball coach, which will be announced today at ten am
at Saint Stephen's one thousand south Worth Street, is the
one and only ballid Bruin. Everyone knows that valid nation
rules ballad Ruin the Wine Week will be our new
head coach. Tony Branch is taking over the assistant athletic
(05:02):
director's job. He's gonna take my job, just being honest
with you, and that's what we're announcing today. So it's
a huge day for us. I can't wait. And you
just don't know a lot of people have. I didn't
know this. It's amazing what he accomplished at Louisville. I
coached him his last year there, Anthony Okay, I was
(05:24):
the assistant coach for coach crub and it was his
last year. Yes, he left. BJ Flynn and Alvin Simms
almost beat North Carolina, Anthony and Syracuse. We would have
gone to the Final four that year. And I'm talking
about great North Carolina team. We so Vince Carter team,
(05:45):
a great Jamison team and bj Flynn I mean got
hot wind Wheat sprained his ankle the game before or
we would have had a chance to go to the
Final four that year. But he's just accomplished so many things.
A ballot bruin of course, great player at ballad, I mean,
prolific score Anthony. The one thing that he did well
(06:07):
was he scored the ball. And I mean that's that's
one thing that he could do like no other. He
could shoot that mid range jump shot Anthony on anyone
from anywhere, just bottom line. But Anthony. He had two thousand,
one hundred and eighty three points. At Louisville, he had
three hundred and twenty three to three pointers. Live went
(06:30):
to the Elite eight appearance in nineteen ninety seven. It
was the first player in NC Double A Division one
history Anthony to record at least two thousand points, four
hundred and fifty assist, three hundred three pointers and two
hundred steals. That's pretty strong. What do you think of
those numbers?
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Those numbers, those were wild numbers. I'm just gonna go ahead.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
And say it that much.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
That's the least I can say, right, there at wild Yes,
you know, you know how impressive those are.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Those are wild numbers, Anthony. I'll never forget. There was
a game at Arkansas before coach cow Nola Richardson when
they were really good winning national championships, Anthony, And they
were really good, and we beat them by himself. He
and Alvin Simms beat them by hisself. I'm telling you,
it was amazing to watch. We just go to work
and Coach Crumb was orchestrating the offense. Anthony Louisville was
(07:27):
executing it to a tee and it was just one
thing after another, thing after another, and we just delivered, delivered, delivered.
But yes, I'm so happy to announce he will be
Simmons College's a new men's basketball coach. Coach Tony Branch
is going to be the assistant athletic director. He's not
going anywhere. He's going to help assist the one in
(07:47):
every form of fashion to make sure that he's successful
and down the road. Like I told Reverend Cosey, I'm
just gonna ride off in the horizon, that's all, Anthony.
I'm gonna make sure that I'll hire people better than me.
So that's what we've got going on today at ten am.
Make sure you make it out. I told Ron you
better show Ron get out of the house. But anyway,
(08:08):
we've got that going on. All the media is going
to be there, Anthony. It's going to be a huge,
huge event, and I'm happy for the wine and his family.
So we're doing that. And of course Anthony ruin Nation
Lives Strong. That's all there is too of that. So
now other than that, Anthony, we've got Derby and I
(08:28):
can't believe May the third is Derby, Anthony, it's the
sixteenth of Apen. I still miss Thunder, that's a fact.
But we have to get over it. We've got to
move on. We've got a lot of things going on.
So chuck Wagon, Anthony, I'm sure we're going to go
down to the chuck Wagon. Anthony. We're gonna have to
have our own day at the chuck Wagon and tell
people to go meet us one day one weekend down
there sometime on a Saturday or Sunday to where we
(08:52):
do that so that we can meet some other people
that listen. I'm telling you, Anthony, at the Oriels yesterday,
you and my neighbor to the left, me Grand Cox,
I don't even like saying his name. You know that,
grand Cox, he is a mess. I'm telling you Carly
his wife, she's the better half. But Grant, my guy,
you won't find a bigger Louisville fan, Anthony, you will
(09:12):
not find a bigger Louisville fan. He just can't stand
it when they lose, They just stand it. But one
of his friends, and I'm Old, we spoke and talked
about everything, Anthony. He said, look, he's a finance advisor.
He says, we're right next to doctor Lynn, so you'll
have to come and see us one of the games.
I said, well, I'm gonna come and do that. But
(09:33):
he said you can ride with Grant. I said that's
not gonna happen. He said you can get in the
car with Grant. I said no. He says, Grant and
I are gonna kidnap you and make you stay more
than half a game. I said, that's not gonna happen.
I said, you just have to understand. I've been going
to games, Anthony, and watching games and coaching games since
(09:56):
let's just throw the great ballad days out, let's just
say collegiately only since nineteen seventy eight. I've seen enough
games and that's all there is to it. I'll see
the second half in the comfort of my home. That's
all that I know, and that's what I'm gonna do.
But yes, I spoke with him, and you're gonna have
to have Grant tell me his name. I'm gonna push
(10:17):
it because it seemed like a fine young man and
he knew a lot about the business. We talked about it.
I want people to go and see him. But Anthony,
I'm sixty six and I don't remember his name. I'm sorry.
I'm just telling the truth. Anthey, it is what it is.
I should have told him give me his carter, his
telephone number and shared mine with him, and then I
would have remembered. But we'll make sure that we get
his name and we'll get him on Anthony, because he
(10:38):
thought he was knowledgeable, he thought he knew thought he
knew something, saying that's all the news that I have
at the beginning. We're gonna get into things. It's already
seven to seventeen. So here's the deal. We're gonna go
to break when we come back. We're gonna let you
hit the national news and Anthety I'm gonna tell you what.
I'll just be an honest with him. Trey Young can
(11:00):
for the Atlanta Hawks, and I do. And I'm going
to watch the playoffs, guys, and Currus the most watchable
kid I've ever seen. Guys. He's changed the game. It's
unbelievable how he shoots the ball. But Trey Young, Anthony
had a little baby tipper tantrum and didn't want to
give the official the ball, Anthony. And he is talented, guys,
I want to try to know he is talented. He
(11:21):
is one hundred times better than Jerry's ever was. You
got me but any But if I'd have played that boy,
I'm killing you, God how to bust him into his mouth?
He wouldn't have said a word and he would have
been I would have hit him straight in his mouth.
And I'm just being honest with you. We would have
run guard cut at you. I would have made sure
that I got my elbows just a level of his say,
(11:42):
I'm telling you, I did the same thing Isaiah Thomas
Atty and he knows it and he's told people that's
why I gave him thirty five Anthony. I would have
hit Trey Young square in the mouth. Now people would say,
probably gonna say Jerry was a thug. He played that way. Yes,
And you're remember Jess Snyder who played at Virginia Tech.
(12:02):
He had the camp that you were really young, but
Frankie went to and you were playing on Frankie's team
in AAU and he was explaining to you all how
your dad used to beat him up. Anthony. I didn't
beat him up. I just would run guard cut Anthony,
and guard cut is a physical basket rub. So their
sinners would hit me Anthony. I want people to understand,
(12:25):
passed away and Robinson would hit me with elbows. But Anthony,
I'm telling you, if you were guarding me, I physically
beat you up. That's how you get open on a
guard cut rub. And I had to shoot lefts and
free throws to school. Dwan had two point shooting jump shots.
I had twelve hundred and fifty because I beat people up.
Andy Trey Young, I would have hit him in his mouth,
(12:47):
and that's the God's out is truth. This is the
sports Radio. We'll be back after the break. Welcome back
to the sports radio guys. It's Wendesday, hum Day, that
is seven twenty two. Were coming into our second set, Anthony,
we are chatting behind the glass. I want you to
give us some of the national news. Let's talk a
little bit about that NBA until before we get into
(13:09):
the Kentucky deal with mister Wilchrist. Let's talk about the NBA.
What do you have for me, Anthony, Oh yeah, of course.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Obviously. You know last night we had some of our
playing games. Obviously we had the playing games for the Hawks,
Magic and the Grizzlies Warriors. So the Magic we're playing
in that seventh and eighth place seed on the East.
The Hawks, I mean, the Hawks did lose ninety to
the Magic. So the Magic will go on and take
on that seventh seed. The Hawks, as the eight seed,
will play the loser. Actually the winner of the ninth
(13:35):
and ten place game, which is the Heat versus the
Bulls that played at seven thirty to night, the Kings
and the Mavericks will play afterwards, falling that at ten pm,
the winner of.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
The pullingy Davis in the Mass Davis, I'm just well
anthy No Knieko, the general manager who sent your man away.
I know Nico really well, That's why I'm pulling for
the Mass When he sent Luke away. You got death threats, Anthony.
I know him really well through Mike Vine. I know
(14:05):
him really well. So I'll see him in Chicago the
week after Derby. But I'm pulling for the maps, that's all.
And if Anthony Davis is healthy, the smart little.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
They got rid of Luca because they got worse afterwards.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
And I'm gonna be honest with you. I like the trade.
Here's the reason why. I just don't think long term
Luca's gonna stay healthy. And I think long term Luca
is a ticking time bomb. He's a Zigon Williamson. The
injuries are gonna catch up with him. He doesn't take
care of his body. And to give him three hundred
and something plus million when you know you've taken beers
(14:39):
out of his hand all the time, Anthony, not just
in clubs. You know we're gonna go with We're talking
about in locker rooms, media rooms, press conferences. They've legitimately
taken beers out of the kids. And I believe it.
I wouldn't have given him that kind of money. So
since you worked, he's worked, the money trade him to
(15:01):
someone who is. But I understand what Dallas was doing
all I'm saying is when Kyrie gets healthy, Anthony, Kyrie
is the real deal Lebron James. They can say that
Kyrie won that championship for Cleveland. I don't care what
anyone says against Golden State. And when Anthony says healthy,
I think they're gonna be better than you think. You
wait till next year. You wait, But I'm putting for Dallas.
(15:24):
So go ahead, go ahead, finish. Oh did you did
you see did you see a little punk though? Did
you see the young man last night from Atlanta? Did
you see Trey Young? Did you see what he was
doing with the official when the offisher was asking for
the ball, He kept faking like he's walking away from him,
and that would have busted him square in the mouth
on the guard cut rug. They probably would have gone
(15:46):
to the monitor and they would have raised it to
a flagrant one. Yes, they would have asked because I'm
telling you I might have been andy, because I am
telling you I would have hit him directly in his mouth.
I'm just saying that's how we played. Then the game, now,
their talented Anthony put a bunch of sissies. I would
(16:09):
have scored fifty points. Anthony I would have shot fifty
points on layups. Isaia Thomas said, can you believe you're
you scored thirty five? You want to know why, Anthony,
I hit that boy every time I cut. That's why, Anthony, honestly,
every time I rubbed you, I hit it for you and.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
All the the old basketball lovers of the kind of
the early nineties. So I know this is a big
controversial thing because everybody says basketball super soft now just
because they playing style is different.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
The rules that.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
I'm implemented because of how you all played through the
seventies and nineties makes us play the way we are now.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
We have anything to do that.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
We can't physically go out there and change the rules.
Nobody that plays in the adiator and cog basketball, we
don't want to hand check.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
Anymore, change the hand checking rules.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
So are we technically soft because maybe you all were
so overly physical as a fact that they had to
change it because people's long give the other careers was
so short, which was true, y'all tearing ADL back and
using your career was over. It's just not the same anymore.
I'm not saying already as as just naturally physical and aggressive,
(17:12):
as of now. No, I don't disagree with that.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
We're definitely not.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
I wasn't a super philosophical player. Guys I played with
their top one hundred players, top ten players in the country.
Weren't overly physical. They were dominant. A lot of them
were dominant stop just the natural size, but they weren't
going out there elbowing people on drop steps in the post.
But at the same time, we can't be considered soft
(17:36):
now because if we did one play that y'all did
back in the eighties, we would literally be out for
like twenty five games. Y'all are needing people in your
forehead going up for laps, like, we can't do that.
It's just like, we're not soft. We just were trying
to make money and not try to be suspended half
the season like you had. Jordan's then kicking Larry Bird
in the forehead on layups on pumfix, Like we just
(17:56):
if we do that, Draymond will barely touch a dude
and growing And he said, spind it for three games.
So what he makes you think that that's we're gonna
I'm gonna bust his mouth on the iris and cut across.
We're gonna be so long and find so hard, you're
just gonna be coughing.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Your mind, Anthony. But when I was playing coaching for
Busch Beard and we would play with the team, he
was legitimately hurting the players. No, I do agree with you, Anthony,
that I know. It's come to the point though, Anthony,
now when Lebron's falling down fake flopping, when Wimby fell
(18:31):
down and got the lady official to call it, and
it's just and it's gone too far now they need
to change the rules back. And the only reason, Anthony,
when I saw Trey Young last night acting like a
little baby makes great money, great resources, I'm like, I can't.
I'm like God just transporting back from nineteen eighty two
(18:53):
to eighty six and let him play and let him
see what real basketball being foul meant so that he
could come back now and Anthony, they would play without
all the wine. And the only problem I have, Anthony
is they are not being touched, and they wind like
kids like they're three years old. Annie, I'm not gonna
lie to you. You and Frankie. People used to see
(19:15):
you all travel with us. Your mother would tay this
is the truth and say, God, you all are so good,
and what did y'all do? I used to tell them.
They know we're not gonna tolerate that garbage, Anthony. You
all travel like kings. People hate to sit next to
people with babies. Everybody knows I'm telling the truth, and
he is a fact. We'd be getting off planes. Ask
your mother. They're like, they're so good.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
We looking at them.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
They know kids know well. Your players should know, Anony,
your era players, those guys m I just love to
let Trey play. He's talented, Anthony. I'm not saying that,
but he needs to play twenty five games from eighty
to eighty six when Larry Bird was damn there getting
his back broken, when Bill Lambert just putting backwards. I mean, Anthony,
(19:59):
we did have physical contact today's game. That's the only
reason I want the players is to stop whining. You're
not being touched. That's all I'm saying that. Yes, the
rules are changed. We were too physical. We were, But
stop whining, Anty, They're not being touched and they're crying
like kids. So so, Anney, who do you like? Before
(20:19):
we move on to Kentucky? Who do you like in
the NBA? Do you like Cleveland? Does Donovan mich you
get it done? Or do you like Shake Gilders Alexander
and okay see, who do you like? No?
Speaker 2 (20:33):
The sunny thing is we talk about okay see. I
still don't think okayc will be the team that come
out of the West.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
I just don't. I don't think.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
I just don't think they're gonna go with all the
foul dating and jumping backwards into people and getting those
little random calls. He'll get some, but he won't get
all the games that he doesn't get them or they
get blown out. Saw it against the Lakers when he
only shot two free throw attempts, they lost by twenty five.
He did another time against a different team they played,
they lost by like twenty eight. The game games that
they lost and they played bad, you can tell the
(21:02):
differential because of how many free throws Shay gillis just
Alexander shoots. I'm not saying that's the whole, pretty much
cut off line of how they win and lose games.
If he goes to the free throw line fifteen to
twenty times a game or not. No, but it does
swing a lot of momentum, It does stop play a lot,
It does a lot for the game, more than you realize.
Just every time you go up there, you hear a
little beat noise, go up and he goes and shoots
(21:24):
free throws. I like their team, I like their talent
and what they bring to the table. I just think
the lack of experience is going to play a factor
in them. Don't be surprised if the team like the
Lakers or the Clippers does snip them in six games,
you know, in the second round, or even if they
do make it to the Western Conference finals. I just
don't think they'll come out of it. I do like SGA,
but there is some point where that but they do.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
They do defend Anthony OKC is the best defensive team
in the NBA. They will guard you. That's the only
re yes youth is there the legitimately Payson Wallace shed holes. Yes,
I mean Jay Gildie, Alexander Leading one of the leading
stield guys. They will defend you. That's why I kind
of liked them. If you asked me Cleveland, okay see,
(22:12):
I would take okay see, because they truly do defend you,
and they will. Now here's the question. Will they blow
the whistles for the Lebron, James and those guys James
Harden will they will they blow the whistle in the
playoffs for the more mature players over the young guys.
That's what I'm looking to see. But okay, he's gonna
(22:33):
try to guard you. Yeah, they do, and they I
agree with you, they do give older players favoritism and NBA,
which but I'm looking at the.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
You're seeing you're seeing guard and they're seeing guard. Does
anybody really garden the NBA? Don't say like, oh this
isn't We're not talking about old garden. Like they're Houston
where they put fifty points a game and they just
guard people. No, no, no, yet they're guarding the NBA
and they'll go out there and Lebron still have thirty
five points a year old.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
They'd be like they guarded them. Not really that on
that team's team defense, team defense, they're good. They should
don Yeah, but they do play good team defense.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Who's guarding him on the Okay, see thunder.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
I bet you know. I guarantee you this Andy, Okay,
here's little wager will make I guarantee you Okay, see
truly does hold people. Everybody is gonna score less points
in the playoffs, but I guarantee you they hold him
eight points less than the season average. Okay, se doesn't fit.
It's all I'm telling you. We'll wait and see Samny.
We're at seven thirty three. Here's the deal. We're gonna
(23:32):
play a little tape on Lamar Wilkerson speaking about Kentucky.
It's a brief tape, so everyone, you all have to
listen closely. He's kind of explaining why he chose Indiana,
which surprised the mess out of me. So Shannon, please
play it for us pleasure to be recruited by Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
But I didn't want to go to Kentucky and just
be another guy. You know that that has already been
to Kentucky man who's yours basketball?
Speaker 1 (23:58):
You know it was a it's a big Anthony another guy. Well,
this year's team, Anthony probably will have four draft picks
on first and second round. Probably Jason will probably be
the only first round pick. But I think they've got
four draft picks. Got me, and that is supposed to
(24:21):
be the goal. I thought of college players, you go
somewhere that will help advance your career, Anthony. I'm glad
they're all being paid. I don't believe the money. We're
gonna get into that after the break, but I'm glad
they're being paid. But Anthony, I thought you were going
because you wanted to go to a university that would
advance your opportunities to go to the NBA. That was
(24:42):
what I always thought. Indiana really surprised me. Like Shannon
said to me Auburn, I said, Okay, I'm not a
Bruce pro fan. Then I would have said I understand.
But Indiana, it really surprised me. So after the break,
we're gonna talk a little bit about that. And guys,
this numbers that we're hearing, I'm still telling you all
(25:03):
until I see something that I can think is proof.
If you listen to the naysayers that Kentucky supposedly had
offered somewhere in the one million to one and a half,
and Andy Adams supposed he offered two and a half,
if you just believe that from Fort Sam Houston, which
(25:24):
you're gonna explain to him after the break, if you
look at the Kentucky roster, Anthony, if he is a
one and a half million dollar player from Fort Sam Houston,
what are some of these real players Kentucky has worked.
What's about the Camarino worth? What's Jeff for Williams word?
What's cam Williams worth? What's low worth? You got me?
(25:45):
What's Gaden quick? The words?
Speaker 2 (25:46):
What's why they got to play some games?
Speaker 1 (25:50):
First? I can't even throw them out? And I got
you no, no, listen to me from what you said.
I sent you.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
I sent you the chart and told you a breakdown.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
Yes, players are standing yet yes, and they said good
high school McDonald's All Americans, high school top twenty recruits,
Anthony High schools three man dollars. That's what you sent me.
I'm not saying is right. I don't want anybody to
say jury said it's right. I'm just what you sent me, Anthony.
I sent a few friends of mine. Dang twenty min
(26:22):
dollars there here. Okay, players may leave millions elite top recruits.
Here's what Here's what it is. Read it, Read it
to them, then.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
Read it elite players. So you've got those players that
have a Player of the Year that's not jan I
Brooms and Cooper Flags, all those big time names of
the face.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Call take a al way, take a ah way this year.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
He ain't I don't care what y'all say.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Oh you crazy your mind, Anthony, you know it. You're
a laship mine. That boy dominated this first. You just
did be an the elite. Come on, man, come on now, An.
You just can't say, come on now, I can't give
you that. Come on man, what you gotta do? The
prayer of the year, Anthony, that's what dominated that.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
You weren't even thinking no, no sales.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
We're talking about right now when for seventeen place in
a rowing Again, I agree, we're talking about now and
we're not talking about last year.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
So that's how you know, even if he's the laite player, cool,
he's not getting that four million dollars a lead money
because that was the case. Why wouldn't he just take
the Alabama offer even if it were just five million
dollars that's more than what he That's what I know.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
That how I get we don't know that. That's what
I'm trying to tell you. Nobody knows that. Now you
sell like people and mean, nobody knows what anybody's making.
That's why I'm trying to tell people, nobody knows what
anybody's making.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Deep deep down in your heart, do you think take
a away is out here making five million dollars at Kentucky.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Anthony, listen to me, exclain answer for that. I'm here.
Here's the yester. No, I am the one. I am
the one who says I don't believe the numbers. I
am the one that you sent me. I didn't do it.
I looked up another chart. You've sent me a chart
saying that this is what people think. Is all think,
(28:19):
nobody knows anything. Here's the levels, and you sent it
to me.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
So if I don't from your chart, okay, okay, go
through the chart. After the break, We're gonna go through
the chart. After the break, We're gonna go through the chart,
because if we believe what people are saying, got me,
you've got teams with twenty million dollars pay rows and
I just don't believe that. I don't, So don't put
(28:45):
the numbers on me. I've always said I don't believe
the numbers. I don't believe the numbers.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
I don't. So after the break, Esports Radio, We're gonna continue.
You're gonna read the chart that you sent to me.
After the break, Welcome back to the Sports Radio seven two.
Anthony read the charts. I want you to read the
chart that you sent to me so people can hear
again allegedly the amount of money kids are supposed to
(29:10):
be paid.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Of course, so we got the elite players that are
two and a half to four million dollar range. Now,
am I saying it will take it away as a
bad player?
Speaker 1 (29:21):
No?
Speaker 2 (29:21):
But is he elite? No he's not.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
He's not elite. Okay, you'll hate me.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
And you said he you said he was an all set.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
First, you name another player in college this year, you're
gonna say.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
That one game in the best sev row against Oklahoma.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
You know, put up. I'm gonna kill you on this
and any No, you're you said it yourself twice, that
he beat teams by himself twice. Anthony, he took over gamee.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Anthony, he did to Oklahoma twice, went to school.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
An Oklahoma beat Louisville. So what you said about Louisville,
that's all I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
We have straight up multiple times Oklahoma beat Louisville. One
in the beginning of the season, that's fine, and two
Oklahoma also had the same elimination process as you have
l did. They both bounced in the first round. So
I mean they're kind of the same. Oklahoma, it is.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Okay, Well, that's what basketball is about. So you're gonna
tell me that he's if he first when it comes
this year, if he first team all, I say first team,
he's not even.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
In the first talking about elite players, he's name the
first round you're talking about because he didn't think the
n c A eligibility. That's not an elite.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
I guarantee first team. Who's eleaite? No, no, no, no.
Who was the laite coming this year? Anthony? They're gone?
Who's elite this year? Who's elite this year? Coming back
to college? Name me an elite player and that's the
take away? Give me give me two.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
Names Otaga away is elite.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
That's what and now, I mean, no matter what you
want to say, you can't name two players coming back
to college that are better than take away. I'm asking
give me two, not five. He's first team all. He's
first team on the NCAA at the beginning of the year.
Next year, I guarantee you you name me two better.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
He was an All league player last year. That's one
and a half to two and a half million dollars.
That's not an elite. He's an All league player, All SEC.
That's not e leite. Elite is Jenni Brooms, Frey Jackson.
If you're gonna see Otago always a laite, then Jani Broom.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
Is a leade. Okay, I will give you that. But
if you had to tell me NBA draft stock I'm
taking to take away, I'm never taking brow.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Otago always an undersized two guard at best who can't
shoot outside of ten feet, And you're saying he's elite.
He's not even in the first round draft as a
mock draft. That's why he's keeping his NCA eligibility because
he's not elite. If he was the leite, he would just.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Go name name me five players that you keep killing him?
Name me five players five you're naming the guy that's
the lead does not no, Yes, if you I'm gonna
tell you. If you said to me, who's going to
be first team next year n C Double A? Oh
take away? Oh wait, I'm telling you today's first team
on n C Double A when it comes out, Street
and Smith automatical.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
Can be first college basketball isn't?
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Oh god? And he now you just he's first team
All the n C Double A next year period. That's elite.
No matter what you want to say, I don't know
how you're pulling. You just pulled first team all CC.
It's not elite. The best league in the country.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Has the potential to go to the next level. Those
elite players if they're coming in like this is elite player,
who wasn't I didn't know.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
I didn't say I didn't go in next level. We
said pay scale for college. I'm going to break again.
I'm going to yes, dandy without a doubt. He dot
he was first team DANGA and Okay, Then why didn't
(33:08):
people back up? If it was that easy, why didn't
they back up? Get out of here, Get out here,
and get out of here radio. We'll be back after
the break. Welcome back to Eves Sports Radio. I can't
believe my youngest son just lost it. Here's the question answering, No,
(33:28):
no hold of South quite my show and my show quiet.
I'm gonna ask you a question. I told you to
read off the amount of money college players were being paid,
not pro. I said nothing, but I said college. You
sent it to me. I had nothing to do with pro.
We were talking about the payrolls. If we believe the
(33:51):
numbers of what players were making from what you sent me.
So read that list off again. The best players are
two point five million dollars. What's the next level I did?
Speaker 2 (34:02):
It's all league players are a million and a half
to two and a half million, and starters are five
hundred k to one point five. Bench players a two
hundred thousand to seven hundred thousand. Now, before you jump
in and be like overtago is always the starteris an
all league player?
Speaker 1 (34:17):
You know?
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Okay, one and a half million dollars. Cool, it's about
what he is. I wouldn't even look for you and
you say elite players. This is going off of the
top fifty players that they ranked in college basketball last year.
In the tournament, He's not even in the top fifty.
Amari Williams is though, otake always even in the top
fifty in the tournament intended. Kentucky played two games. A
(34:39):
lot of teams that players aren't in here. Some of
the players played less than that.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
Again, Anthony, are you talking about we're talking about this
year's payro, Anthony, what they accomplished last year playing coming
into now we're talking about Kentucky's salary scale. If you
believe the numbers are Tega Alway, if you believe the numbers,
is a two million dollar player correct from what you
(35:05):
sent me? One point five to two point five any
I never no, no, no again, nobody and me. Nobody
said that again. You nobody said that. Nobody said he
was five. We heard a crazy rumor that Alabama was
paying crazy money, and I said, I didn't believe that
two weeks ago. But all I'm telling you now is
(35:27):
we're yes, okay, no, But I didn't believe that then.
So what I'm telling you is, when we're talking about
elite college players, we didn't say pro draft. I didn't
say pro potential. I said what they accomplished in college,
which is what your pay skill is about. Our Taga
oh Way has to this year be coming up. If
(35:48):
you believe those numbers, be a two million dollar player.
If you believe those numbers, because he is a starter.
He is an all conference performer in the best conference
in the country in Florida won.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
Okay, and you just said it. You said two million
dollars because he's in a starter in an.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
I didn't say any numbers. I said that he was
a league league. He is. No. No, I think he's
going to be the top five player. He's first team
All n C Double A next year. We'll make a bet. No, no, no,
I'm putting mine out there. I bet he s a basketball. Yeah.
I'm just telling you he's gonna be first team. That's
(36:27):
the elite. He's gonna be first team. Now, you tell
me what he's gonna be next year. You can. I'm
telling you now, I don't want to hear all that
they say. You tell me what they're gonna rank him
at the beginning of the year next year. Tell me now,
I'm saying first team. I've put mine out there.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
You put the preseason rankings. You know a guy I
can throw the preseason run.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
Oh no, you're scared. Now you're scared. Now I'm telling
your first team. Didn't give me one. I'm telling you
give me one. Ebody.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
He's gonna be pre season on SEC. Cool. He probably is,
you know another guy.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
No, No, I'm saying more than that. I'm saying more
than that. I'm saying first team All n C Double A.
I'm not saying conference. You tell me where he's gonna be, No,
you just you tell Okay, where is he gonna No, No,
where is he going to be? You tell me second team?
Thirteen you will me?
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Are you just saying, oh, first team?
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Second? All a p all a p. I want to
know you're Nate saying, tell me where he's gonna be?
I said, first team? Where's he gonna be? Second team?
Third team or no team? Your disease already first because
he had.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Half a season this year. If that's the case, something regular.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
No, you are showing where are you going to be?
Speaker 2 (37:35):
You know he may be up there if they bandwag him,
if he go, if he plays.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
If no, no, no, no, we're going about preseason and
I'm not letting go preseason. That means last year just
that they would.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Throw top rakings because he carried town to Kentucky last year.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
I'm saying off of that, you're saying, oh, he's gonna
be the same as next year. I have examples of
the years that was supposed to be the first of
the year their conference and didn't even make all confounds.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
Again, I'm telling you, the first team guaranteed a first.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
Much of a choice. What was he supposed to do
last year? Who's going to pass the ball to?
Speaker 1 (38:14):
He did his job, Anthony, He did his job. So
you tell me where he's gonna be. He's gonna be. No, no, no, no,
everybody listening is gonna tell you, Anthony, give me where
he's gonna be. I don't want to say, oh, they're
gonna bandwagon him.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
You will ask you a question. Do you bounced around
my question?
Speaker 1 (38:35):
Okay, what do you want me? What do you want
me to ask? I said, first team a P. Min's
locked in. Where you saying he's.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
Not first team a P pre season? Okay, give it
to him because all the good players are leaving or
they're graduating. So a P first team. Yes, I will
agree with you a P first team preseason. But don't
think that's gonna stand throughout the entire season or the
end of the year. Otaga always a first team a P.
That's not happening.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Okay, we're gonna see the tournament. We've got you, we
got you. We're gonna wait and see. That's all we've
got to bet. Okay, fast, since all this, I'm going.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
With the players for graduating from the SEC. Do you
think he's gonna be preseason? That's player, the player of
the year, and.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
That sea I get it. Yes, he's first team all
that sec and he's gonna be first.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Season Player of the Year since he's the only player
that's really worth anything that's on that.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
Now, now you've taken me from first team so that
you can be right to best player. Now I gotta
go to best player. I can't even say first team.
Jesus Andy, you're showing you hate, young fella. You're showing
you hate. I said first team.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
Because because the first team, a fact, is not hate.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
That's not hate that We're gonna wait and see.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
No, we'll wait and see. No, we're gonna find out.
We got it on record this time, everybody. We'll be
back tomorrow. Talk y'all later, come to the press conference.
Bye bye,
