Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to EVE Sports Radio. It's May the fifth,
twenty twenty five. It's Monday.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
I did say May the fifth.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
It's unbelievable. Derby has come and gone. I hope you
all had a fantastic week, a fantastic month, because the
city of Louisville has done a tremendous job of supporting
the Kentucky Derby and all the events around that. So
other than maybe the balloon below and some of the
things that were postponed for a second, we know Thunder
of Louisville, which we really missed. We had a tremendous

(00:32):
month again of Derby twenty twenty five, the one hundred
and fifty first running of Kentucky Derby. It's now passed
us and we have to look at it's in the
river mirror. We're looking for one fifty two next year.
So welcome back to the sports radio. I'm rested.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Thank you for asking because I was tired. I'm not
going to kid you. It was a long week, but
a great week.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I had a lot of fun and I hope you
did also. So the phone number is five zero two
five seven seventy nine hundred. That's five zero two five
seven seventy nine hundred. That's Sports Talk seven ninety k
r D. We got Shannon, the dude behind the glass,
the dirtiest wrestler in the state of Kentucky. But just

(01:13):
leave him alone, guys, just leave me alone. That's all
I can tell you. And we've got the one and
only my son, Anthony Eves on the other line, Anthony,
how are you?

Speaker 3 (01:22):
I'm good?

Speaker 4 (01:23):
And I see he's still throwing low blows out here
in twenty twenty five one day, get overlows.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
What low blows?

Speaker 4 (01:31):
But you keep on throwing off producer under the bus.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
All right, we're gonna have to find somebody else.

Speaker 6 (01:35):
He's gonna quit on us.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Well, that's only because he's scared, because he knows I'm
coming for him. Anthony, Shannon knows I'm coming. He knows
I'm working out every day. I'm like Rocky, you know,
I'm bench pressing, I'm pulling woods, I'm chopping trees and
them coming to old school.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
That's all. Shannon is just a big rushing in the
movie that has to get I've got to chop him down.

Speaker 6 (01:57):
You've been talking about this for how long now? How
many years?

Speaker 5 (02:00):
I know for about ten years, though.

Speaker 6 (02:02):
I think Jesus is gonna come quicker than you. Waiting
on you all you for ten years?

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah, Jesus, that was pretty good. Look here, it just
takes me time. You know, you cannot rush. I don't drink,
but you can't rush. What is that bourbon? You gotta
put it in a barrel, you gotta let it marinate.
I just need a marinate a little long.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
It takes me time, that's all. Shannon.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
I just got my knee redone. I'm bouncing back from it.
I'm coming, Channon, I'm coming for you. Just keep keep
one eye on, that's all. Oh you mean we've got
that other guy. We got another guy.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Bring that other gull, George.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
They're trying to bully. They trying to bully me, George. Now,
I know you're gonna come on my side, don't come.

Speaker 6 (02:54):
I've been backing Shannon and his manager for about six seven,
eight years now, Jed. Why would I change on my client?
You know what I mean. I've been trying to get
this match on. I've been trying to get the odds,
you know what I mean. I've been doing anything I
can to get you in that ring. Baby. In fact,
Jerry tell me where you're gonna be. I picked Shannon.
I've been diving to you.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
I am not Muhammad Ali and this is not Joe
Frazier low on cash.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
I just, I just I just heard you talking right.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
I have to be paid right, talk.

Speaker 6 (03:25):
To us, talk to us to bananas.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
What you need to bananas? When you started and shanning
to bananas?

Speaker 6 (03:37):
Well, you know what I mean. I want Lemon.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Oh, you like that. You like that better than every George.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
You like that, Lemon.

Speaker 6 (03:53):
Just tell me where you're gonna be, Ja, let me
pick it. I tell you how we're gonna make the money. Jay.
We're gonna YouTube because we don't have no finances, and
we'll let the people see it and we'll get hits
south of it. And you know, I'll go, you'll be
getting hit, but we'll get other hits for you too,
and we'll pay you off with that. Okay, I got you. Okay, Well,
I'm good.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
It's glad that you all are super super confident and
Shannon skills, that's all.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
I'm glad.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
I'm glad. I'm glad there's always upset city.

Speaker 6 (04:21):
He's a professional. He's a professional. Joe, you glad you're walking.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Hey, Shannon, have you ever heard of the name Texas Wesleyan?
Just remember oh Lord been greater upset.

Speaker 6 (04:36):

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Everybody better watch themselves.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
That's all I'm telling you.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
I know if I'm on a boat by myself, But
that's okay, that's okay.

Speaker 6 (04:44):
Now you're in a rat, bro you're in a raft.
Ain't no boat. You're in a rat and it's shrinking. Yeah,
this shrinking?

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Hold up? Hold up? Now, I can at least get
on the Bella Louiso. It had hole in it too.
It didn't go out, so I can say I'm on.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
The fellow Lloiso.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
No, Jerry didn't know it didn't go out. You can
get in the canoe or raft, take your pick. We're
not putting you on no boat. This this is gonna
be over well. Only thing I can say, Shannon, please
delay it. Don't don't take him out right away. You know,
at least give us two rounds. Yeah, I don't have
to delay it.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
I think Jerry's doing that on his own.

Speaker 6 (05:24):
Okay, take you say for years. Yeah, I know, I'd
imagine for you.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
J I need to know how much I can make.
I'm not getting in the ring for free.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
I tell people all the time, you see.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
People fighting in stores, fighting outside and fighting at park.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
What if you're gonna fight, get paid?

Speaker 3 (05:43):
That's dumb.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Why you fight for free? George, get paid?

Speaker 6 (05:48):
Well, Jerry. But but Jerry, you threatened this man and
talking about all the things you could do and stuff
like that. You you are gonna get paid paid back
for running your mouth. So all you got to do
is get in there.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Okay, here's the deal, Anthony, who you're gonna buy? Whose
corner you're gonna be an Anthony minus Shannon.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
I need to know in the corner.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
I'm in the stands.

Speaker 3 (06:11):

Speaker 1 (06:15):

Speaker 6 (06:18):
Not a boxing coach.

Speaker 3 (06:19):

Speaker 6 (07:03):
A little too.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Early early in the morning to hear about you grabbing
the park. All right, let's bring some sanity to it,
all right, now, look here, it is, okay, twelve seventeen,
we're all here.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Garby, don't you know what time it is.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
It's twelve seventeen.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
I know you, sugar up in gears. Sam, all right,
knock for five hours into the future.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
You like that, George, you like.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
I love it, Jae, I don't like it.

Speaker 3 (07:41):

Speaker 6 (08:09):
Okay, Okay, Jared.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
You already, I'm gonna let it go. I'm gonna let
it go.

Speaker 6 (08:12):
Okay. I'm glad, I'm glad you came back to us
here the champions. Yeah, let's get back to re out it. Yeah,
come back to us, Come back to us. Come back, Jerry,
come back. Nobody wants to see it. Hey, Shannon, he
must have best some money at the derby, lost and lost.

(08:34):
He's not in reality this morning.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
My wife will tell you, George. I'm glad you said
that we have not spoken you all. I'm telling you
all the truth. My wife and I we leave out
of here about nine thirty nine forty to go to
the Churchill Down Saturday.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
We get there, George, second race.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
We walk in.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
We're seeing all the festivities.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
I said, there's a booths right there. There's nobody there.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Let's go bet.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
She goes in places her bets. You know, she thinks
she can navigate the race. Four them and the horses.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
I just go say.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Two five across the board. Got me, George. We get
to the rooftop. By the time the race ends, the
five horse wins.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
George. Now I'm jumping up and down. Yes, it's just
I went to cash more money.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
I got eight dollars and thirty eight cent on a
six dollar bet.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
But at least I won, George, and I wanted who
you did.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
And my wife will come on and tell you, George,
we stayed five races.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
I won four or five races. The five horse was
on fire, George on fire. Here's my problem. I always
tried to bet four dollars on a long shot.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
So every time I bet my six on number five,
which paid me ten or eleven dollars, I was always
losing four dollars trying to bet on the choke. So
all I did was break even. I bet on my
number Friday and Saturday. George, I broke even. I came
out of the track.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Even. You can't beat that, now, George, that's fact. Even
did not win, did not lose even.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
And even though tips to the people, Georgia and I
left some tips, came out even so.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
Call back up, back up, back up, back up, he did.
What would you say you did?

Speaker 2 (10:15):
I even left tips, George, and broke even.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Oh my god, I know exactly.

Speaker 6 (10:20):
Wow. Wow, that's one shock in the New York.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
George, that one dollar, they said, you mean?

Speaker 6 (10:28):
I said, yes, George, okay, Jered, that sounds more like you.
I'm back now, I'm back. Okay, you have me, You
have me speaking that for many man, I know, I.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Know, so simone bows some mount up. Georgie was a
I mean other than.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
The weather, George, it was a great Derby. I enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
What was your experience, George, And he's gonna tell you
what was yours when we go to our break.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
What was your experience?

Speaker 6 (10:55):
Well, Jed, my computer went down with all my photos
and all my work, and I've been walking on them
for two days. So it was terrible for me, Jed.
I'm still trying to get my work up so I
can get it to print, you know what I mean.
And anybody knows how I fixed an Apple computer coffee show.
I need help, I need help, you know what I mean.

(11:16):
First day it was beautiful, the oaks was beautiful. Jebby
had a great time. Uh Derby Day I walled in
the mud, you know what I mean. But it got
some great shots. The horses were fantastic, the people were great,
and I just you know, they paid a lot of
money coming out the jets, so Jeed, but they never ran.
By the time Derby started, I was shocked to see
the number of people that were outside watching that race. Yeah,

(11:38):
because you know, it looked almost like it was empty.
And then when Derby came, they didn't care what they
had on. They came out to see the racing. It
was a fantastic race in you know what I mean.
I had a great you know beside my computer. You're
back by Apple computer. Peak out, George, I need help help? Okay,
do you not call George?

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Let that boy figure it out by himself.

Speaker 6 (12:01):
Oh my god. And no matter how loud you stick
with your dad, man though, what time is he gonna
be in your corner? Man, he would drive that brush
over you if he can. Yeah, cause shitt' they gonna
beat you up. Don't get mad at me.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
I just know your computer's not gonna get fixed.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
That's you can. You can forget that. That computer's coming
up some kind of way today if I gotta fix.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
It, George.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Let me tell you what Miss Wynn Blackburn told me.
She called me and said, have you seen George. I said, no,
he's down on the track. She said, I know.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
I just saw he and all the photographers walking across
the track.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
I guess you are getting in a position, George. When
she saw you, Yeah, for the castle walk to cancel walk?
I said, did somebody run over him? I was asking
did the road runner? Did somebody get him? Was it
the county? Did they hit him.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
She said no, I said, I was just hoping, George,
and she.

Speaker 6 (13:00):
That's so terrible, Jah, because about about five people asked
me about you in the show. No, I'm kidding. You
had a lot of people were answered about the show
and stuff and getting a great applause out to you.
While I was out there in the rain, they were
talking about my dedication. Well with you, I said, like
he always did get something free.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Daron Rodgers takes care of me.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
I want people to know that Darren Rodgers had a
medical emergency.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
He's fine.

Speaker 6 (13:25):
Yeah, he did the entire.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Derby week, but Darren hanging their big fellow, Anthony, how
was your Derby week?

Speaker 2 (13:32):
You were out there with me, got to experience it.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
How was yours?

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Before we go to break?

Speaker 3 (13:37):
My weekend was good.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
I didn't. I did most of my stuff, you know,
Monday through Thursdays. I took it a little bit easier
this year than all the Derby festivites. Parties in the
track and I and.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
I enjoyed it, my man, Yeah, but I didn't.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
I did I want.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
I did go to the track a little bit, but yeah,
I tried not to try not to kill myself this weekend.

Speaker 6 (13:59):
So hard to do, and I've been doing that for years.
Boy going all in parties, you can kill yourself and Derby,
Where were.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
You, Georgia League?

Speaker 3 (14:09):
I was looking for you. Where were you? Were you there?

Speaker 6 (14:12):
Oh no, Jerry, I got lady. I had. I had
something else to do and before the artist could come on,
and got a little later than I expected, so I
had to make a move. But I'm gonna tell you
this though, Jerry, you're talking about you, boke either I
want you want? Yeah, I won, I got the two
place and showrshes.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Okay in the Derby Okay.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
Yes, sir, Yes, that's a long time.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
I bet in Basil, Yes, which I had Beazi also
with excellent George. Well, look you're gonna ask Shannon because
he better start to lifting. Shane, you better be in rolls,
finger rolls and all that. If you may be doing
sit ups in there, Shannony, you better be getting ready, Shannon.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
That's all I'm telling you.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
The champ is here.

Speaker 6 (14:56):
It's seven, Jerry, Shannon just got a new contact. Just
say it, Just say it, Just say it, just say it.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Okay, got you just saying Okay, Shannon, push ups and
jumping jacks are a good place to start for you.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (15:11):
What are you doing? Oh that they're running your mouth?
Oh oh oh oh.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
That's what say No George, what he said, he listened
to say, Alista, I'll see you in the ring.

Speaker 6 (15:27):
Say oh, fans, it's getting tight, fans, it's getting tight.
Fans getting it getting type fans. Begin at expect.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Because we'll be back after the break.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Welcome back to Eve Sports Radio. It's seven twenty four.
I'm on top of things. Shannon's the sports Radio. I've
got George, I've got Anthony. Here's what we got, Anthony.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
We're gonna let you throw the National News out. Then
we're gonna let George.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Of course, we're gonna go to the Derby winners, Oaks winners.
Then we'll get into the NBA. And guys, I don't
watch regular season.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
I watched George.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
They're playing basketball now. Do not be arrogant and not
watch the NBA now they are playing.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
So anyway, Anthony hitters with the National.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
News an.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
Yep, so some of the nationals.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Obviously we have a lot of NBA games, NHL going on,
getting deeper into the playoffs, and obviously we did have
one of our.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
Game sevens yesterday, and all I can say is, my boy,
Steph Curry took care of business. If you had a
first round elimination, I would have to hear Lebron fans
talk about it for so long and I would have
been pissed off.

Speaker 6 (16:39):
Sorry.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Now, everybody goes out in the first round like Lebron
James does.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Okay, nobody goes that more than anybody I've ever seen
to be called to goat.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
I mean, George, he goes out more than Georgia does.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Couldn't get picked up at Crowlford Gym, George, could you?

Speaker 6 (16:58):
I know you're not talking to me. I know you're
not talking to me, love fellow. Go ahead that he
can start some trouble. Look I didn't.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
I didn't know it's gonna go down that street.

Speaker 6 (17:11):
Yeah, I'm sorry, but go ahead. That's your dad, and
I tell you back.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
You up on you every time I'm with the goat
the last seventeen years, his name Curry. I'm sorry. People
will not give that man his due. George, period point blank.

Speaker 6 (17:28):
He's unreal.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
He's unreal, period point blank.

Speaker 6 (17:31):
Olympic too.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Oh, I mean what he did in the Olympics.

Speaker 6 (17:35):
I just came back. I just can't forget that man.
Every time we talk about it.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
I know it's unreal what he does, George, you played,
but guys, I did for an NBI did.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
I played a lot of games.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
What he does is phenomenal. I sit there watching just
go it's amazing. I can do any of those things, George.
All the shots he makes, I could never make you
the gym, Like I tell people, I could be in
the gym overnight and shoot the shots he shoots and
never make a one. The boy's sonominous period. There's nobody
like him. Larry Bird can shoot it, guys, I love Bird.

(18:07):
Don't get it twisted. Nobody shoots the ball like Kurr.

Speaker 6 (18:10):
His dad could shoot it, Yes he could, now I
know it. Dad, Yes, sir, he could shoot it.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
But nobody shoots it. Nobody shoots it like that boy.
Nobody George. They holy they grabbed. He's little George.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
His dad was six six, as you will know if
y'all didn't know what steps dad is six six, six
six and a half. Virginia Tech shot the lights played
pro could really shoot. But the truth, Anthony.

Speaker 6 (18:35):
Side that I think a lot of pissed. I think
a lot of people miss misconception is because you lean
and thin that you're not really really strong. I think
the exercise and the routine Jerry to make those muscles lean.
I think he's very very strong. I didn't think that
like a ant, you know what I mean. You know
the boy little ten times in late you know what
I mean. So I think it's a routine. Yeah, but

(18:57):
we cut at me out, Jerry.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
I know, but I just had phenomenal go ahead, go ahead,
go ahead and it.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
And they took care of business one on three eighty nine.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Pacers did scrape out of late win last night though
in their game one of.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
The East and semis one to one twelve over the Cavaliers.
I know we were talking about it with mister Durham
yesterday that Travelers had two players take a combined total
of fifty shots.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
They did Georgia.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
I don't know if you watched.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Went for thirty, Todd ern off the bench with a
for twenty.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
I don't really know what's going I mean, Todd Groan
has had an incredible season.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
I will give him that. The numbers speak for himself, but.

Speaker 6 (19:38):
Realistically, in a playoff situation.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
Am I having Tide Jerome shoot the ball twenty times?

Speaker 6 (19:43):
Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (19:44):
No, No, No Garland though, no Garland, I want to
be fair. No Garland played yesterday, but that was that
surprised me.

Speaker 6 (19:52):
Indiana upsetting Cleveland and I thought they should have went
inside a lot more, Jack, You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Well, I mean you look at it.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
Donvid mentioned I had thirty three points on thirty shots.
Tydron had twenty one points on twenty shots.

Speaker 5 (20:05):
I don't know the game even for to even be
that close, for that many shot oftens, it's still surprising.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Donovan was one for you from the three, now, guys,
I raved about when he hit seven threes.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
He was seven for ten in the last series. He
was one for eleven last night, and you got no
one to quit shooting him, George.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Some people say, and it's true that sometimes Donovan will
turn into a volume shooter. And yeah, I mean at
thirteen for thirty is not bad, guys, that's not a
bad percentage. You understood what I'm saying. He's in the forties,
forty two to forty three. But it's the one for
eleven from the three. He needed to attack the basket more.
If he eliminates alf of those shots and shoots two.

(20:44):
He shoots over fifty percent and his teammate has a
better chance. That's my only issue. Sometimes Donovan will get
three happy, sometimes so happy.

Speaker 6 (20:54):
And I think sometimes Jared with the great coach, I
don't know the relationship he has with the coach. Sometimes
coaches can say the Knight's not your Knights from Americ
because you know, different players have different attitudes when you
talk to him about I think and I don't know
how their relationship is. Because I'm with you. I thought
he could come and he has the ability to do that.
You know he's not one of the player, but they
have to take the value and three point us. Yeah
he can. He can take it to the basket. Yeah,

(21:15):
he can take you to the basket.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
So you're right, we're gonna see it. But a lot
of great a guys watch the games now.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Do not be to get you all.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
They're great games. They're playing now, they are truly playing.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
They're great games, competitive, great defense, I mean, physicality.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
The whole nine year they're playing now.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Other than Lebron fake flopping, who's out, I'm so glad
they're playing now.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Great serious, keep going at congratulations to give George.

Speaker 6 (21:42):
I like him a lot, I like them a lot.
I mean, give the pacers love well because it's a
small market. Look what okay, she had to do to
get their respect us. They had to be the best
team in the West, you know what I mean, and
people kept counting them out and now they win it,
you know what I mean. People don't understand it's the
talent level, not the city.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
You know, you would have thought they would have learned
that with the Utah As for George.

Speaker 6 (22:08):
Jay, you know, if you ever't want Jay, if you
haven't won something, the people don't even remember those names.
If you you go back ten years in the history,
people talk about how long ago that was, and that's
only a mid decade, you know, I mean, and that
he's almost been out of school a decade, so I
mean people think that that's a long period of time. Jay.
We do not look look at history and the value
of history and what people do. You know, we always

(22:28):
want to criticize it.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
Small markets, nothing than Salt Lake City and Karl Malone
and the only reason they didn't win multiple His name
is Michael George.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
He beat everybody period period.

Speaker 6 (22:42):
He ruined a lot of people's Hall of Fame career.
Oh my goodness. Well he's in the hall, but he
had to do a lot to get there. Never got
a ring though. You don't know what a ring means.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
He doesn't know what a ring means, George, Yes, No,
he cannot say ring. You they give Y Smith.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
You don't forget you don't have a ring. That's all.

Speaker 6 (23:06):
You don't know. We don't know. We're talking about it.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Shaq Diesel does it more than Kitty Smith? Shack is
the Blues finish it up for us?

Speaker 4 (23:19):
Yeah, of course and obviously still getting into We got
some good game ones going on this series night. We
got a classic that we haven't seen since and almost
over a decade, Nicks versus Celtics of their Game.

Speaker 6 (23:30):
One tonight that used to Bill brom They have played
in a.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Playoff series I think since twenty thirteen or twenty fourteen,
one of the two.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
But it's been over ten years since they play each
other in the playoffs.

Speaker 6 (23:44):
You know, you know this, this is what this is
what took me Jack. They played well, especially in the
days we live. If they play a lot, we would
hate it. Now they don't play it. Now we act
like it's a phenomena. You know, it's just amazing how
we approach sports. You know, we look at the chief.
You win two or three championships, or you shouldn't win
no more? What am I playing for? Why don't you

(24:05):
just tell us, don't come back this year, and we'll
come to next year and then the rest of y'all
play for a championship. I guess people don't understand the me, Jerry,
The greatest thing in the world is to win a championship.
People don't understand how hard. If I went three championships,
people don't know how great that is. What you got
to do. You lose players, you say, players, and then
you got to come back. You got to coach new players,
and then you shall win and blow people out. That's

(24:27):
that's just phenomena to me. I don't understand why people
don't accept champions There's only one winner.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Everybody else lose.

Speaker 6 (24:35):
Yeah, but we get offended when they win, though, Jerry,
That's what bothers me, not that you win, but people
get offended that you win. I don't want to say
him whin no more, they win too many? I went
too many. Get tut.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
I said the same thing. About Brady. He won too many?

Speaker 6 (24:49):
Ye explain that to me, Joe, how do you win
too many? You're a player? How do you, as a
player explain that in your mind? How you win too many?
You played the game? Talk to me as a player.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
You can't, George, because that's okay.

Speaker 6 (25:02):
So it's only if you're a player.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
George, and George they're putting for their team. So one
team win, just like New England and that Tom Brady.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
I was mad.

Speaker 6 (25:13):
I'm sorry, George, Yeah, I never was. I guess I
always looked at it as a player, though, Jay, I
guess I don't look at it a fan. You know
what I mean, because I know how hard that is.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Who Georgia, When the Louis thee fans give me a
hard time, all I tell him is two final four
is one national championship.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
I think I did, okay.

Speaker 6 (25:33):
I think run a bad run, run the bad run,
run a bad run, and George won a bad run.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Bro and that sixty five foot stopped me from three.

Speaker 6 (25:42):
So and people and people don't understand how hard hard
that is just to even get back to it, not
to win it, that to get there to talk about.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
It, as you said, I'm glad you said that, George.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
George, I just need you to know and everybody else
that Coach Pat Kelsey will be on with us tomorrow.
He said, this week, George, you didn't make our show
on Tuesday. You were on the back side. Let me
tell you how I know you were, George, can I
just saw, yes, and that I just saw, George, I said,
I know, Well, right after Coach Kelsey comes running up

(26:15):
on Tuesday, I'm gonna let you know I'm coming on
your show next week. And Stephanie's assistant sent me a
text said Tuesday, we will have coach on with us tomorrow.
So anyway, and we're gonna talk to him about the resurrection,
which he has done, and what he's gonna have to
do to try to put Louis on the final before.
I can't wait till tomorrow's conversation. But anyway, George, we
already at seven thirty five.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Anthony, you got anything else or do we need to
get the break? No?

Speaker 1 (26:41):
You got to have the Derby things because Georgie got
to tell us about what he thought. So do you
want me to do Derby, Anthony.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
Or do you have them?

Speaker 5 (26:49):
I have, but I think you sound more excited to
do about it than I do.

Speaker 6 (26:55):
You know what, Bak coming back with.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
George, Welcome back to EVE Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Shannon's still in the studio. I haven't done anything to him.
Stop sending me about doing something to Shenny. I haven't
done anything to Shenny yet yet.

Speaker 3 (27:20):
Not yet.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Now here's the deal, Anthony, since I'm pumped up, But
here's why, George, I want I want to explain something.
Since you were talking about championships, George, and you were,
and I want to give people the makeup of the
Louisville team. I want people to understand not how they
could play or what they could do, but at the
mindset makeup. Scooter came first, riding came second, and when

(27:42):
Scooter towards a c.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
L, they thought we were done riding.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
Mccraye was a.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Little fat, chubby freshman, and I mean he's a little fat,
chubby freshman that stepped in and the world found out
that he's in the top four or five best players
ever at University of Louisville history. I mean, no question,
play every position stepped in. You had Derek Smith and
Wiley Brown, two Georgia boys that everyone said, Georgia.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Was known for football, and Derek and Wiley were going.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
They would tell you in a heartbeat, we're winning the championship.
You had Darryl grifforths George the best player in the
country and never missed the day at Crawford.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Gym in the summer. Let me say this to you
all again. He never missed a day at Crowford Gym.
He was the.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
The last one to leave, the last one to lead. Guys,
I want you to understand the first come, the last
to lead.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Every day.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Myself won a championship in high school. I had great teammates,
but guys, we were built to win. Like you hear
a lot of people built to win. Now, I'm gonna
tell people something they're not gonna like to hear, but
I want them to think.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Back about it.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
George, I want you to think about this because we're
always talking about where people.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Are argantting Coach Crumb. Last thing in his name was Eric.
We know that.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
But our team, George, we designed our own sweat seats.
You remember Daryl Grifford did that. We put the doctors
of Dunk on it. People didn't like that. We were
just wanted to play all kind of the crazy music
before our games, Remember George, remember we did that said
we're the first one to start the high five. Wiley
Brown got me.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
Guys, you didn't have a bunch of passive people. You
had people going to go get it.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
I just want to.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Remind all these people that were upset and other guys,
I'm just telling you what I know for a five
because Wiley Brown is in the book started the high five,
got me.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Just go google it.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
So, guys, you had a group of people here that
were here to win, and they were not frightened to
say it and expected to win.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
That's all.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
I just wanted to pass that on d George, tell
them about how competitive Crufford gym must be. Seriously on
the serious side. In the summer competitive, that gym wasn't well.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Jay.

Speaker 6 (29:46):
First of all, if you got in three games, your
day was almost completed. I mean it was just hard
to It was just hard to stay on the court,
you know what I mean. And like I always kid
about putting your name on the board. Only the Wesley Coxes,
the Ridney mcquay's out, the artist Gil Moore's, they put
their name on the board and they picked to where

(30:08):
they're gonna have on the team. The butcher beards they
picked if you was gonna go up. If they didn't
choose you, you just sat there and like I talk
all the time to about going to the other side.
Some people had to play on the other side. When
you played on the big boy's side, Dot you know
what I mean. You had to be read to rock
and roll every time you went up. And I'm telling you,
if you played a bad game and wasn't a professional,

(30:30):
sometime they tell you, well, we're gonna take you back
up the morning, I'll tell you that you ain't gonna
never come on the side. So every day you went
in that Jay, it was dog e dog, it was
glad at the ball. Everybody had to bring their best
game every day and when you did not, if you
had a good game, you still might get rolled out
because somebody dumped on you or whatever. So you had
to be hard to go there. Your mentality had to

(30:51):
be in a certain way to go out there and participate.
And that would just practice in the summer. And that
was just practice in the summer.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
Nobody let's hey, George, just come in rumble, and.

Speaker 6 (31:05):
I mean rumble and get there early. Like saying be
there early. You had to be there early, especially, like
I said, if you didn't get pro money, you had
to be there early just to be able to go
up and be loose and ready to go.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
That's all I wanted people to know. No people said,
when you all lost.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
On the hell, Mary, were you surprised? I was, man,
I was wanting to win another one. It wasn't was
I surprise.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
I'm like, I'm not going to the final four. It
was like, this is unheard of.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
It was expected. George, we wanted.

Speaker 6 (31:36):
People don't understand that mindset, though Jack.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Exactly wanted to win it.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
Every year.

Speaker 6 (31:40):
They call it arrogant. They call it arrogant when you
if you tell somebody what you said, if you say
that now what you just said, people say, oh, that's
an arrogant team. They deserve to lose. They talk too
much about that. No, that's why great teams talk. They
don't think about we're gonna lose to anybody at any time.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
We went to George, that's all.

Speaker 6 (31:59):
That's it. That's the only thing he posted about to
Jim exactly.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
So here's the deal, guys, Kentucky Oaks. Great day, good cheer,
good cheer Wins. He was, she was the chalk She
paid four to seventy eight, three sixty two and three
oh two. Drexelhel came in second. Long Shot paid twenty
one dollars and eleven seventy six. Blessed the Broken paid
seven forty eight. So that was Kentucky Oaks again. One

(32:25):
thing we haven't mentioned is that the ownership group Go
Dolphin was the ownership group that swept Kentucky Derty and Oaks.
The ownership group owned both. Of course, Sovereignty paid seventeen
dollars seventeen bucks. I mean Mott did a great job.
In seven point fifty. We had journalism paid four ninety

(32:47):
four and three seventy. Of course Besa paid eight dollars
and thirty eight scent for the Kentucky Derby Great Derby,
I mean George, there were great racests George Derby Day.
There must have been more finishes with photos of three
or four horses that I've seen ever. I mean there
were great horse races on Derby Day. Great well, you

(33:10):
were able to watch a lot, there really were. It
was just it was a bad sloppy day for guys.
It was a beautiful day hunting.

Speaker 6 (33:16):
I love a sloppy track.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Yeah, you never know it. He's gonna win, so yes,
Orge that we've just got to sit and wait see
what happens next with this creakdness.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
Do you all think a.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
Sovereignty did get injured? George a little injury. Do you
think that they did runner in two weeks run him
in two weeks?

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Yes, he did, got above his food.

Speaker 6 (33:37):
Well, Gas, she's a different thing. That's that's that's pretty
deep right there. You know what I'm saying. But but
but uh I don't. It just depends on how heels.
I don't believe it. The hill in two weeks, probably not,
But I would have said he would have run if
he hadn't got hurt, because, uh, it's at the Belmont.
The last one is at the be Okay. I think
they're changing track. They're changing tracks there. It won't be

(33:58):
as long this year, so I figured a lot of
horse owners may move their horse because he doesn't have
to go as far in the distance. It's not as far,
so I figured more horses would end it would do
all three races. But if he endured, I don't think
he'll go. But Jerry, I just think the thing that
was so great is you know, you talk about Jonas
being the favorite, but it's just like in any championship things.

(34:19):
He had to earn that championship, Jerry. He had to
come and come through the middle to get that championship.
He wasn't winning it all the way since took us
around to the first curve and I don't know who
was on the backside, and he had to come through
the pack, Jerry. And that's what made it so exciting
because he started moving and the more he moved, the
more the crowd got pumped up. And oh man, by
the time they got to the end of the race.

(34:39):
You know, I guess about the last fifty yards, we
knew he was he was destined to win. But up
until that point we had a race going out, Jerry, I.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Was yelling for Georgia's money.

Speaker 6 (34:52):
Well you got third place, man, so you got third,
Well he gets your third. I bet Besil too. There,
I had him too, you know what I mean. And
so that it was a fantastic grace, man, And I
loved that. I got some great shots of the crowds
getting pumped up, man, and oh man, that's the part

(35:14):
I like as much as anything, his mugs on the
rail betting their horse, and the horse was coming down
the line and they're losing their mind. Oh man, that
that is something I'm off because you know, they make
gestures and facial expressions there they probably would never do
again in their whole life. And then when they win.
One little girl, she was a photographer next to me,
she had to start fanning herself because she won. She

(35:36):
couldn't believe it. She got so excited she almost passed out.
So it was great, great, good, there you go.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
What we've got is we had of course, Aaron Rodgers,
Carmelo Anthony, had a lot of celesties, Brian Westbrook had
a lot of celebrities, of course, Chris Tucker. All the
people were there and it was another great week for
the city of Louisville.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
A lot of money gentlemen was wagered on that race.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
I just want you to know Derby Day had three
hundred and twenty million dollars bed Saturday guys. Again, all
those things happened to hundred hood of jts to ten
million on Derby. So I just want you to know
a lot of money, a lot of tax dollars came
into our city, just so that and I understand that
things are high, things are expensive, but there are benefits.

(36:23):
A lot of hotel rooms, a lot of calves, a
lot of ubers, a lot of police officers, a lot
of people got paid overtime because of what happened around
the Kentucky Derby. So now look before we hit it,
and because we are well, we gotta get the break.
Let's go to our last breaks and we got time
coming out. It's the sports radio.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
We'll talk to you in a minute.

Speaker 6 (36:42):
Welcome back.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Seven point fifty one. Each sports radio got George Williams
planton and.

Speaker 6 (36:47):
Very quickly, No, great, right, I'll run as your question.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
Hit me on.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Travis Perry. Now it's about your cats, Anthony.

Speaker 6 (36:56):
What do you think I know? What that? I know
about that?

Speaker 3 (36:59):
What do you think we all know?

Speaker 5 (37:01):
Travis Perry, he's signing to go to Old Miss.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
So he's he's staying in that sec in realm, he's
just going somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
What do you think, George, uh where about him going?

Speaker 6 (37:14):
I thought I think it's a good move. I mean,
I mean because because I mean, if you don't want
to compete, I mean, I'm all gonna have to start
learning to compete you. Everybody came run, ain't George? Hecided
to get I didn't say he was running. I said
a lot of players that are making all these jumps
are not stepping up and saying because if you got game,

(37:35):
you gotta go to the pro Joe. You know what
that's about? Everybody? Everybody going in there is all somebody
he can't sketch the step up. I'm saying, I'm taking jobs.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Dude, George, you know.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
What somebody said to me last night.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
I'm just telling you a female I said, y'all are
gonna be surprised Kentucky when he comes back and gives
you all sixteen seventeen.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
You know what she said to me, George.

Speaker 2 (37:53):
She said, that's fine, but he's gonna give up twenty seven.

Speaker 6 (37:56):
I said, oh my god, a man. But je Before
we go off there, let me say this real quick.
This is the last thing I'm gonna say on the Derby.
They did a wonderful thing for Junior Britain and I
must admit that they did a wonderful thing in the
Winter Circle for Junior after one of the racist and
it about the whole family out in Ana Jr. And

(38:17):
I had to say that before we went out there,
and I wanted to commend churches down for doing that
and only other thing I like to say for our things, Jerry.
As much as it was raining, then I think this
is one of the best years of the hats I've
ever seen, and so I'm sorry it rained, but those
women had some marvelous hatshob Jerry. So that's all I
got to say.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
Carry on, George, without a doubt. It is a fashion show, now, George.
This is a fact I want. I'm bad with names.
A woman stopped me on Friday and said, I listened
to your show every day. Her husband went to Wager
High School. I talked about Brian Cromer. I want you
to call into the sir, George, we have more women listeners.

(38:57):
Well not, I'm just telling you me and you're gonna
have to screw it over.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Women.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
Y'all are going to have to call in. I'm telling
you that was one at Another woman that stopped me, George,
very close to David Staylor.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
I was going to see him.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
That stopped again, Georgie. You know what she said, don't
be so hard on my cardinals. I said, I'm not
listens every.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Day, said I'm not.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
But she says, but I do admit, you do tell
the truth. I said, okay.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
And then the third one, George, was Saturday at the track,
all females, y'all got to call in.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Don't be frightened, George, Williams and Hampton. Oh wait a Shannon.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
I'll take care all of them, trust me. I take
care all three. First George, second Anthony, the young one, third,
one two three?

Speaker 2 (39:40):
Why y'all get quiet?

Speaker 6 (39:42):
I know, because we thought you'd lost your man, Jady,
We thought you lost your man. What what did you did?

Speaker 2 (39:52):
You?

Speaker 6 (39:52):
And I have to take a Junis out there and
got me since she's been on the show, I don't know,
tell me and take about the They just wanted to
come down. But Dad, Jay come back to it, please.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Pat Kelsey rubbed off on me. George, he comes. This
is no joke, George. I want you to understand. The
show's over.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
I just talked with Chatty and all of a sudden, outside, George,
there was a guy named Willie.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
That was yelling at me at the beginning of the show.
And he'll tell you. But oh, said Jerry, Jerry, I'm like,
who was calling? It was coach, coach like, what's going on, coach,
you know you pictures?

Speaker 3 (40:28):
I know George, don't say that.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Don't say that out loud. He coming on the show tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
But don't run the man's reputation. They love him.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
But George, he was coming. They said, Jerry, you'll leave
my leave my coach alone.

Speaker 6 (40:42):
He's not telling dang, well, tell him, don't run from ring.
You tell him I show up on a Monday and
