Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to EVE Sports Radio. It is Friday, July
the eleventh, twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
I'm not in Louisville. I'm in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
It is four oh eight Las Vegas, Nevada time, seven
o eight Eastern Standard time. Hope you all are up
and scurrying around having a tremendous morning.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
I am.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
I've been up for a long time. Being honest with you,
I'm not going to change. I've been up about four
thirty U alls time, preparing for the show, getting ready.
We've got special guests on with us today that we're
going to be speaking with. But more importantly, we've got
Rick excuse me not, we've got John behind the glass. John,
thank you for sitting in. Shannon's out with matt Rick
(00:44):
sick and we've got John. So, John, thank you for
sitting in.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
With us today.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Problem problem, you're just playing musical chairs. You play musical
chairs on that so we'll try to confuse me. That's
what you do. But anyway, appreciated, John, thanks for sitting in.
You're behind the glass. Of course, we've got my younger son,
Anthony Eves sitting in with us. Connect to Anthony Police
John what's going on, young fellow.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Hey, you know I'm doing great.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
How's Vegas treating you?
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Oh no, no, can play up athey. It always treats
me good. I eat to good.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
I sit front row at the games and I watch
a lot of people gamble and lose their money, but
not me. I just watch other people. So it's treat
me fine, Anthony. Cosmopolitans a beautiful hotel and I got
a beautiful view. So everything's great. Everything's great. Watch great basketball.
That was comical. That's a joke. I didn't mean that,
but it was exciting. I'm gonna be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
There's a lot of excitement for the Cooper Flag game,
so you know, we'll talk about that.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
But Vegas is fine. It's about one hundred.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
It's gonna get to about one hundred and fourteen today,
but no humidity. So it's pretty nice, Anthony, really pretty nice.
So we're gonna bring the other guy on, and let's
bring the old guy on. Intellectual out for Butcher Beard.
But welcome to the show. How are you?
Speaker 3 (02:06):
I'm okay? Jerry. First of all, your listeners know that
you're still asleep, because when you said it was seven
o eight it was actually seven o six, So why
don't you wake up, Anthony. You can continue to do
the show. Your father's old put him in the bed,
will put him in the bed out there in Vegas,
(02:27):
and whatever stays out there stays out there. Okay, just come.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
With jokes, you come home with jokes.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
I don't have my glasses on, coach, but I've been
up longer than you, without a doubt. You know you're
the one that can't get your back lace and standard time,
and you're feeling good about yourself.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Coach Beard. I'm up and ready.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Okay, period, okay, brother, okay.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
And pumped and pumped. I just can't see my little phone.
And you're right it's four oh eight now, so you're correct.
But what's two minutes, coach? I was at least two
minutes early. I wasn't two minutes late, but thank you
for correcting me. See but Anthony, anyway, phone numbers five, two,
nine hundred. This is Sports Talk seven ninety, and of
(03:14):
course we had to have miss intellectual come on and
try to I think he was trying to bully me, Anthony,
but I'm just not frightened, Coach Beard. That's all. You
can't call me any four letter words because you are
a live radio so you can't.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
And that's okay.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
So I'll handle you. I'll handle you. But guys, we
do have a lot to talk about. There's a lot
going on. But first thing, Anthony, I know you and
George covered it yesterday. I know you all did. Coach Beard,
someone did donuts donuts on the dirt bow floor in
Shiny Park. Now, coach, I mean that's as low as
(03:53):
low coach on the court. They had it freshly painted.
Butch was really nice. Someone goes and does donuts? What
do you coach be here? What's going on? What's wrong
with the community? Jerry?
Speaker 3 (04:08):
When you told me about it, I was just thinking,
I have no idea if society can have peace and love.
I mean it makes no sense. I mean there's not
much to do in Louisville in the summertime. So you
have the dirt bowl where you have kids and guides play.
(04:32):
They get together and you know, Horman taines and women
and play right and oh yeah, I'm sorry, and women too.
And you would think that that would be something that
would be fun for everybody. But you know, you just
got a few who wants to mess up everything.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Who wants to mess up there with you? Boy, We've
got a few in society that just cannot help but
try to ruin things for everyone. It's crazy, Coach Beard,
it really is, Anthony.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Is there any new news?
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Do we have any new news, Anthony, or is it
still the same they're trying to find the perpetrator. I
heard it was a black Dodge. That's all that I
know in the car was stolen. Any other news, Anthony, No.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
I think they're still trying to find them. I haven't
heard any updates on it, and I haven't seen anything
on social media either, so I think it's still still
in the same progress that it was a few days ago.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Do you think it's a high priority for the Do
you think it's a high priority for the City of
Lloydsville and the police department?
Speaker 1 (05:38):
That shouldn't be, But for me it is, Coach. For me,
it is, But no, it should not. They've got more
important things to do. But for me, it is, Coach,
because iky going down there playing in the dirt Bowl.
I have great memories in the dirt Bowl. It helped
my basketball career, I really did, so for me, Coach,
it's a high priority. No, it shouldn't be a high
priority for the for the mayor or the police chief
(06:02):
Greenberg or David James or no. But still, if anybody
knows who did it, call E Sports Radio please we
need to find it.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
I mean, Coach Beard, that's just man.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Coach Beard. Sports used to have a special place. It
used to be a special place, Coach Beard. People gave
it respect. We did, I guess not. Now it's Tokyo
drifting at Chinese Park on the basketball floor.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
I mean, Coach was just painted. How selfish and dumb
can you be?
Speaker 1 (06:36):
I'm just being honest. I mean, come on, Coach, that's
for people to go and enjoy it. See the court,
watch guys play and women play. It's a beautiful summer.
I mean, come on, Coach, you gotta be low down.
You just gotta be straight stupid to do something like that.
I'm sorry, Coach, it is personal for me. No, I
do not expect the city of police to be running
(06:57):
around trying to find the guy. But if they did, Coach,
I'd be glad. I'm telling you that. Oh, he needs
to pay to clean it, Coach. They need to make
him clean it, not pay to clean it. They need
to make the perpetrator river finds whoever did it clean it.
Coach Beard, period, that's what they should do. Oh, I agree,
(07:17):
I agree, yes, not just pay but okay, great, thank you.
Well guys, we got a first caller, so we're gonna
take him. Coach Beard. It's like he's a ballot bruin.
But I think something's happened to him and he's just
not right. His name's Blanding and he's kind of loss it.
(07:38):
But let's bring random into a landing. Please, now, keep
it in the middle of the road. Do not get
this thing this early off kilter. Let's keep it in
the middle of the road.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
How you doing brand well?
Speaker 5 (07:51):
Well, I heard the golden pipes of one of the
greatest individuals I've ever met, Coach but the Beard, this morning,
so I had to call in. Good morning, Coach Butch,
Good morning John, Good morning Anthony, and and good morning Jerry.
And I hope, I hope everybody's doing great. And Jerry,
(08:13):
I know who did it. Andre McGee did it? Oh, Jerry,
Audrey McGee took a red eye from wherever he's at
and he did it. He's guilty.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Lessons No.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
Coach but Coach but I wanted to ask you something
since you're you know, been gone and everything. But I'm
sure you saw the the great celebration of mister Jerry.
It's over there. We were named the street after him
and I and I just wanted to know when we're
going to name one after Katina Powell and and and
and Rick's band of entertainers. And also I was thinking
(09:01):
about we need to throw in uh, you know Slickrish himself.
What do you think about that?
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Yeah, nuts, Early, it's the sports radio brothers. That's Early, a.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Blending blanding' yes shirt on the serious side. Okay, they
need to do something for West Unsol. I don't give
a crap what they say about the family that didn't
want to have it done. The university and the city
should do something for West Unsol, Okay, because without West
(09:37):
Uncle stepping on that campus in nineteen sixty four, everything
that we see and we know of today would have
never happened.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
Well, coach, but you know something's never changed, sir, And
I'm really sorry to tell you this, but at the
end of the day, when are we ever going to
do the right thing? And that would be doing the
right thing. So we don't want to do that.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
That's the reason why I keep preaching it in that sense, okay,
hoping that the right thing will be done. Well, I
want the I want the young I want the young
people to go and google. Okay, west un So I
know they don't know who it is and his career
at the University of Louisville and what he did as
a professional. I think that they need to do something
(10:26):
in the city of Louisville, and also the university need
to do something for him as well. Okay, I mean
they they're gonna do what they're gonna do with all
the rest of these guys, but that's they and those
guys would have never been at the University of Louisville
until West until came and made it a national power.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
Well.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
Hold, second, I got a question for you, Coach, and
people know, you know, Coach Beard, that sixty nine, I
moved directly next door to.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
West Son Soll's mom and dad, and that's when I met.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Western Zil And truly everyone was part of the Unsell
family because that's how Big Charlie and Miss Unsell had things.
You know that Coach Beard, they inherited the complete neighborhood.
They did this is and it was my first experience
in since then in sixty nine, my first plane ride
was off West a Soil's dime and my first basketball
(11:25):
camp was West Antil's Basketball camp. And Maryland coach, why
hasn't the city when I went to University of louiso
and I had no problem with the guy's well deserved.
We had Johnny Unanas Towers, a dorm named after Johnny
and Ninas, We had the statue, we knew Johnny u Ninus.
Why did they not do the same thing for homegrown
(11:48):
West Until That's my only question? Coach I know about
back then. I'm talking about sixty nine, seventy seventy one.
I mean coach, second player taking an NBA draft, second
player to ever be Rookie of the Year MVP.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Ever, he had a.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Little Chamberlain nineteen seventy eight World champion, You were nineteen
seventy five World champion. How did it happen that Jerry
Eves goes to University of Louisville nineteen seventy eight to
eighty two, And of course I met that man eleven
years before that, so my idol and there was nothing
there how did that happen? Coach, that's the only question.
(12:21):
In the sixties and the seventies, what happened? I, Jerry,
I really don't know, and I don't you know.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
I can tell you that we tried in our Memory
Lane group about four or five years ago to get
something done and they said that the other university said
that the family didn't want to, you know, have a
statue in his eyes.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
They didn't. I'm going to be fair now, Coach.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
You know, I know, I know that, I know that.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Give the family names, but I know that directly, and
I told you that there was an issue and they
did not see. You know that, and I know it.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Yeah, Jerry, Jerry, Jerry, Jerry. I get I get all
of I get all of that. Okay, I get that.
But the university in the city of Louisville needs to
honor him because he is, like you said, homegrown. And
it was a regional power until wes unsl stepped on
(13:22):
that campus. For three straight years of varsity basketball. It
was Kareem Abdula Jabal, which was leu Ale Sandra, then
Alvin Hayes after Houston Upset UCLA and West Unsel. Those
are the three big names in college basketball. I don't
know what's wrong with these people in Louisville. They all
have they all have dementia. Okay, that's all I can
(13:44):
tell you.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
I got you. That's so blend, And that's my only question.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
I want to know why Okay, in the sixties, Okay,
early seventies, when he started to really establish himself. Eight
when they win a world championship after you, you defeated
Washington in seventy five. I want people to understand that
the golden words for burying yourself defeated.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
West is team.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Then he almost won it in seventy five. He comes
back and wins it in seventy eight as an underdog.
I just don't know what happened in that time.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Frame, coach.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
So that when Scooter McCrae, who's out here in Vegas,
Rodney McCrae, Derrick Samanthew's deceased, Wiley Brown, good friends of
both of ours that I used Southeast, Why when they
stepped on campus they didn't see Western. Silchi just said
we saw Johnny and Ninis period point. That's my only
question to everyone. No one can answer the question, Coach Beard, Nobody, nobody,
(14:44):
I have.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
I have reasons, but I'm gonna keep it to myself.
I'm gonna be this is a different day.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Okay, Okay, gotcha. So guys, we're already seven to twenty.
Coach Beard, I'm looking closer on my phone. We're gonna
get the break job come back, Anthony. We're gonna throw
it to you. We're gonna get out all the national news.
Of course. We've got tennis going on, Coach Beard, I'm
watching it right now. We've got a golf event going
on in Hirschborne Country Club in Louisvio. A lot of
(15:13):
things going on. We've got the NBA. So when we
come back, we're gonna throw it to the young one,
Anthony Eaves, and let us give us an update. This
is EVE Sports Radio, phone numbers five zero two, five
seven one.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Welcome back to Eve Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Of course, we've got Anthony Eaves, We've got Alfred Butch Beard,
we've got Rick behind the glass. We'll get to our
next th in a minute, Anthony. We're to you a
lot of national news. What's going on national.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Obviously, I know the Wimble Woman is the big thing
obviously going on right now that we have currently a
lot of matches for men's obviously, we're getting down to
the nitty gritty. We do have a match and later
on today will be Carlos Outcres against Taylor Fritz will
be one of the big matches. I'll be playing in
the semifinals and number two versus number five ranked, And
on the other side of that will be Jonnick Senner,
the world rank number one versus Novak. Jokes one of
(16:05):
the greatest tennis players of all time. I know mister
butch Beard knows very well about Novak.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Jokes him go down. He's coach. Oh it hurt me
when he went down. Coach, Oh it hurt my knees.
I said, oh god it, But coach, He's put himself
almost in the finals again. He's the best. If not coach, No,
(16:32):
Vak's gonna go down. It's probably the greatest tennis player ever,
don't you men side, don't you expect.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
I would think so in the in the modern era,
I really do. I mean, you have Betterer and you
having the doll. But I think that he will go
down as the greatest in the modern era because he
hung in there longer than those two guys.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Okay, yes, yes, body's trying to break the coach. It's
just the wear and tear. Tennis is difficulty going. Oh,
yet comes back no matter what. He fights back, and
like Anthony said today, it's funny because it seems like
the favorites loot the first set every time and then
next thing you know, they form three in a row.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Women for two in a row.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
It's amazing. But continue, he keeps going, what else is
going on? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Of course, And obviously even though we have our du
it's GOO Championship here out at Hurstporing, so it's got
a lot of buzzs going down on Shelbyville Road in
Hurstbourne Parkway. We still do have the Renaissance Club going
on in New York for DIGITSUS Scottish Open, which right
now her got her up as minus eleven through round one.
He wouldn't minus nine today, so scoring well this morning.
(17:41):
Roy mclero is still in the hunt at minus eight.
Matt Fitzpatrick sitting up there as minus eight as well.
You know what, I don't see Scotty up there, but dud,
let's say you can't cut him out. He's minus three,
so he's eight shots behind the leader. But it's not
like we haven't seen a comeback and before from Scottish.
So I still got I still got face and hoping them.
But I'm glad to see what McElroy back up there.
(18:04):
Obviously he can competing well and he did win a
tournament this year, but I don't know. I feel like
mc roy has been always in the hunt. He's just
been struggling to win lately. Same thing with Matt Fitzpatrick.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
You know.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
He did, he did get.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
The Master, the Masters, thought the big morale.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Big morale boosters that he needed last I mean for
the Masters obviously going back a few months ago, and
then obviously we have a ton of summer league games
going on. You know, Briannie James went off for thirty
two points. Now, I'm just kidding, that's a lie. Don't
believe me on that for thirty two points. It will
be the day that I tried back up on the
NBA the team exactly.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
I'm going back out also Coach Peter probably to make
him comeback. Kid can't play. I don't care anybody says
no position can't play, a lot of great opportunities. Coach,
you put yourself out there if they put him out there,
long enough you hit a shot, but he can't play period.
We'll get to that though, get to the NBA. We're
gonna get to that. So for a fact, yes, we've
(19:03):
got Yesterday Frank went to the ESCO. They've got a
lower level PGA tournament. Coach Beard going on at Hersham
Country Club, and Frank went out yesterday said it was exciting.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Guys can play. So there are a lot of phenomenal players.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
And there are about five or six young men playing
from the city of Louisos. I think three or four
went to Sant Xavier. So there's a local touch with
this tournament. So I'm wishing them the very best team. Now,
Aunt Butch, let's just get into it. I'm out here,
of course, Las Vegas, Nevada, watching the Summer League, and
(19:38):
Coach Beard. When I'm telling you the front row seats
where I was sitting, we're going for twenty twenty five
hundred bucks, they weren't. Coach Coach, there was a true buzz.
I don't want to tell you I was good basketball,
but there was a true buzz going on at this
year's Summer League. For a fact, Coach For a fact,
two thousand dollars plus the front row seats to watch
(20:01):
Cooper flag. How much did they go?
Speaker 2 (20:03):
Anthony, you have a better idea. What was the top price?
Do you know?
Speaker 4 (20:09):
Look, we're now you know exactly why those prices were
twenty five hundred And it's very very simple saying what
they say out there in Duke, I.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Pledge the allegiance to the flag.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
Twenty five hundred dollars tickets is what they're going for
and nothing less. If you want to go out there
and season one draft pick against the rising stuperstar Brownie
James court side in the summer League, twenty five hundred
dollars is what you're paying court side. What's where your
seats for?
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Was?
Speaker 5 (20:35):
So I got questions how did y'all get down there?
Speaker 4 (20:36):
Because I know you didn't pay that.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
I get credentials so I can get down there, but
those are Mike Hying seats, but I get traditions.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
No, it it takes it. Didn't say I didn't say
court side credentials on there, but we try to.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
They trying to sneak your.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Way court side, getting TV time, taking pictures with Mark Cuban.
I'm looking at the pictures, I'm like, good she's specialist.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Okay, I gotta be honest with you. This is the truth.
Sometimes people can't handle the truth. We're sitting right next
to a young lady that works for the Mavericks and
she is the lay assign to the general manager. Okay,
Coach Beard, who Mike Vine knows. And she sat right
(21:24):
next to us the entire first half. Well, of course,
Mark Cuban and the new owner of the Mavericks, the
Cuban still partial owner, coach minority owner. They were doing
interviews behind us. So at halftime, Mark Cuban comes around
and hus the young lady, I don't know her name, guys,
I'm not forgetting. I don't know her name. Mike Vine does,
but we're all sitting there talking and she introduce this
(21:46):
Mark to Mike, says Mark is Mike Vine. Mike says, hello, Marks, Hello,
So you know I'm just standing on the side like
a wallflower. She says this is Jerry's and Mark Cuban
looks and says, I know Jerry. I'm sitting there going, oh,
what did you say?
Speaker 2 (22:07):
What? Let's back this up again, Mark, you said you
know Jerry's You.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Never we never met, even written me a check how
do I know you? And of course everyone knows Mark
Cubans and Indiana Boy, Indiana, you got me. Coach Beer
really will started his career at Indiana, putting their games
on the internet. He's a basketball junkie. Of course, University
of Louis was good. Coach, we were decent in the eighties.
You were better than us. Coach Beard, you're Unseell team Beard,
(22:33):
Unsill is better than the griff Eaves team. But we
happened to win a championship. We didn't have to play
against luell sindor freem up geor Jabbar. Period we don't
win one, and we're playing in that era. I tell
people all the time, period Blank, we don't win. But
he said, we had great conversations, Coach Bear, political conversations.
(22:55):
You liveled the city my show. I was boy, I
was enamored. Spoke for a while.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
So yes, Anthony, now I was hop nobbin.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
But I didn't do it. Coach Beer. I would have
never said a word. Honestly. My wife said, you know,
you don't even like me asking for photographs. We weere
at the games, I said, and I didn't answer them.
Coach Beer, I didn't. I did do that. Mark Cuban
did that, So there we go. I was hop nobbin Coach.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
Beier, but he wanted to put it on Shark. He
wanted to put the picture. He wanted to put your
picture on Shark Tank.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
Okay, so they made a Buzzman said I had no interest.
He said no interest.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Yes, so we had a nice conversation.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Coach ber So yes, but coach, honestly, I watched a
lot of Kentucky's players players. This is how crazy the
league is. I want you all to know, Kentucky fans.
It's already seven thirty three and we've got a caller
and I'm.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Gonna bring him on.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
But mister Antonio Reese's dad set right with Mike and
I and he informed us that the Spurs had released him.
I'm like, well, how's he playing for the Spurs if
they released him? He says Jerry, I don't know either,
but I'm getting ready to find out from his agent
or I'm gonna be his agent. Coach Beer, the NBA
(24:18):
in this summer league is soaked. It is truly.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
The wild wild West.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
So I'm like, he is starting reached from last year
who came out as a starter on the Summer League
team released him. I'm like, this is just weird. From
the time we were there a coach Beer too. Now
it's drastically different. That's all. If I released someone, I
wouldn't be playing them. I'd be playing someone I wanted
to watch. Who knows coach Beer' what's going on now?
(24:44):
But he played well. When he played well, I was
impressed with the way he played. So hopefully someone will
pick him up. So there's a lot to talk about,
which we're going to get to Rod dilling Ham. I've
got pluses and minus on Rode pay of players selected
last year to you University of Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Coach, he has to learn how to be a point.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
Guard, which means give up on the ball. Oh gosh,
he drills the hide off of the coach, and he
did make two consecutive good passes. But other than that,
he's playing for oohs and ohs, and honestly, the league's
not very happy with him right now, and Minnesota is
kind of so soad. So he really needs to be
taught how to play that point guard position, coach, because
(25:28):
he could start next to Anthony, but he can't keep
the ball for man man man's a superstar, and that's
what he doesn't understand. But we'll get into that. So
let's bring on our second caller of the day. Coach
calling for you. He's not calling for me. It's the
one and only everybody loved him. Ac. How are you
doing any Gordon?
Speaker 6 (25:50):

Speaker 6 (26:45):
Good morning, good morning. Now this is now the best
way to do this. You know, I'm you know, it
feels like it feels like like that good old show

Look up, mister Eaves in the house. And then wait

(27:05):
if we get it, we got brother Anthony Eaves is on,
but we are missing brother Frank Eaves because he's too
busy dumping those sore losers out in the junki yard
or whatever he does. This is why I like him.
He's taking up the trash, the horrible callers you have,
mister Eaves. Mister are you enjoying love? Vecas Well?
Speaker 1 (27:26):
I mean I answered that question.
Speaker 8 (27:29):
Yes, I'm eating Yeah, first you are, so, Yes, I
enjoys great, great. I hope I hope everybody goes bankrupt.
I hope every single one of them to go bankrupt,
so Donald Trump will put him in their stifen. And
I'm the guy who's working my texans and dollars are
feeding these losers out there.
Speaker 6 (27:50):
He saying, people love me, mister Aves. They don't love me,
they hate me. I embrace the hate, mister Eves.
Speaker 7 (27:57):
I love it.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
I enjoy it. I love the hate.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
I never told people loved you. I told you I
have women that want to strangle you. I didn't say
that good good, not love you.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
They want to.
Speaker 6 (28:17):
You know, I love you. I love your station, and
I love you. This is the only station in Louisville
I call. The rest of them are propaganda and they're
gonna be gone pretty so. And don't worry about it.
AI heard official intelligence whoever they are. They're gonna wipe
out your radios. I am predicting today it's gonna wipe
you guys out of Hey. I'm just letting you know
(28:38):
because I ain't know the business. If they want to
strangle me, how come they're not If they want to
strangle me, how come they're not calling the show to
mention that are making making up another live mister.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
I don't make honestly no women women want to kill you.
You got twenty more seconds because I got called to
be twenty more seconds.
Speaker 6 (29:03):
Okay, twenty more Okay, Okay, lets look let me okay,
let me say this carefully. I want you to work
on my ani ill deal or else you and I
we're gonna have a big problem. I'm not gonna stand up.
I am done standing up for mister Ron mischle Blandon.
Forget them. There are traitors work on my deal or
(29:25):
owls hollow all Hallow.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Thank you will Frankie's junkie donkey business. I'm telling you
a season another level now, Coach Beer, We've got a
gentleman called wants to speak with you. I asked you,
I really wanted to talk to you, because you know,
I'm like, you want to talk to coach Beer. He's oh, yes,
(29:49):
his name is Artie. Please bring Artie to the show.
Speaker 7 (29:54):
Yeah from the West. Yeah, can you hear me?
Speaker 1 (29:59):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (29:59):
Yeah, thought he talk?
Speaker 5 (30:01):
Yeah, you and West.
Speaker 7 (30:02):
Suns was my I named my son after West. I
still live in the West and I graduated from flege
the year they closed.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Right, he was my idol.
Speaker 7 (30:11):
But you used to wear at number fourteen, had that
thigh at lastic thing on your fire or something. I
wore mine and grace show use my man, buddy.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
Hey, you got me down toise sciens right there. I
wore mine, LARTI I wore mine alreaty.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
I wore that.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
I wore that sleeve because I had pulled a muscle
or growing muscles. So I was trying to keep it
tight as I could.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Now.
Speaker 7 (30:37):
You remember Fred Holten, Yes I do. Yeah, he was
at my neighbor at one time when he lived Downer
and coach at Aaron's Emmanuel. But yeah, he was my man.
I don't even care anymore.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
I don't.
Speaker 7 (30:49):
I don't talk about you know this pass. I go
through Shawnee Park everyday. I lived down by the golf course.
I never seen nobody playing balle no more, not pedal
for true.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
It's pitiful, I mean, coach, but I don't know what's happened.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
It is pitiful between honestly guys, between Shiney Park, coach
Beer Newburgh. Thomas Jefferson got me Bery Town in the
Prospect group where we played, you can always find a
great game, or Seneca Park when the court was right
there on the corner, you can always find a great game.
You can't find basketball. Anthony told me that they were
(31:25):
playing at the park Hays Kennedy Park about two weeks ago.
Shocked me. I couldn't.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
He said, people are actually playing games.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
Shocking.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
Coach Beer, Well, it all started, Jerry, Jerry, It all
started at really Chickasaw Park, moved over to Shawnee and
then there were parks. Then there were parks in the
neighborhoods or Dallas, Thornton. He controls one park and things
like that. I mean, I don't understand why kids don't
(31:57):
want to get out and play and participate against you know,
other people in the you know, in the city, to
see how their skills are. A you isn't the cure
all for everything, trust.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Me, that's fact. But already I appreciate you calling in.
And Coach Beard was already he didn't have muscles, ye
that body he had back then. Coach Beard, come on,
they were good, they were good.
Speaker 7 (32:26):
I don't know why they don't let you, huh, I said,
I don't know why they don't let y'all have a
say show at at university. It's I'm real, That's.
Speaker 6 (32:38):
All I have to say.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
But okay, okay, all right, man, thank you for being
my Thank you for being on my train.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
You're one fan. Coach Beard your one. Hey, that's that's that's.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
One more than a whole bunch of people. Hell on, Hans, Okay,
one more, one more than I have, that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
The coach Anthony seven, I won't get the break when.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
We come back. We are going to talk about the NBA,
what's going on in the league, and Coach Beard. We're
going to talk about the coaches and what I saw
is really disturbing. After the break, E Sports Radio phone
numbers five zero two. Welcome back Radio seven forty nine.
(33:27):
Coach Beard, Anthony. Here's the deal, guys. First thing, Coach Beard,
he's been a summer league coach. It was in Atlanta, Georgia.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Beard.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Yes, I had a poet shirt on and Charlotte Hornett
polo shirt and yes, shorts and tennis shoes. But a
coach at least we had our shirt tails in got
me right now. Watching the benches at straight AAU, they
look like AAU coach never seem to like it. It's
like neatness is gone. But here's the I think Rod
(33:58):
Dillingham has a lot of talent. Watched it, coach. But
they're up eight with a minute twenty six seconds to
go in the game. They're up eight. He beats the press. Coach.
He takes a running eight foot layup off the glass
that he misses early in the shot clock. They're up eight.
There's a money minute twenty six to go in the game. Coaches,
(34:20):
that's not the problem. The one era coach. The problem
is after he missed it, he turns around and files
the rebounder. Okay, I have no problem with him doing that.
I have a problem with the coaches not correcting him.
No one, not the head coach standing up. I don't
know who he is, nor anyone on the bench even
moved coach. They didn't even look at each other and
(34:43):
being and are upset. It's like they didn't even know
coach be here. He filed the man. They're up eight
with a minute twenty six. They went to the other
end shot two free throws with the clock stopped. I'm like,
he can't get better because they're not telling him.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
They're not coaching in coach at all, point blank period.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
So I'm asking you, how do they expect these kids
to get better, coach when they're not coaching them. And
I can give you a thousand examples of that from
yesterday alone, the two games. I'm telling you, it's embarrassing
the coaching that's going on out there. It's embarrassing.
Speaker 3 (35:24):
Well, Jerry, you know, we talk about it, and I
tell you all the time, you can't coach what you
don't know. And here's what is going on in the
NBA and in basketball period. It's more about entertainment than
it is about learning how to win a basketball game. Okay,
(35:45):
And that's where the problem is. You know, you got
the analytical people who you love. I you know, when
we talk analytics and sports, I hate it. You got
them talking, well, if you shoot the ball one hundred
and fifty times and shoot threes and you're gonna win,
blah blah blah. It just doesn't make any sense to
me because you have to try to find a way
(36:07):
how to win basketball games. And what you just saw
you will see today at least five or six times, okay,
and nobody will say anything because what you don't know,
you don't coach. You can't coach it. They're not about winning,
they're about they're they're about entertaining your brother.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
Well, the entertainment value coach, in my opinion, is going down.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Yes, there were people paying twenty five hundred dollars for
Cooper standing attention to the flag, but coach, yes, it
was truly disturbing and both benches. I could give you
all examples of both teams things that transpired, and the
coaches didn't blink an eye. Here's Another example, coach Antonio
Reeves's team. Antonio happened to be wide open, standing right
(36:58):
in front of us coach, ready to shot a stationary
corner three. Fears is this last. He pushes the ball,
beats the press. He's got a man in his pocket. Now,
if you don't know what I mean by that, there's
a person dead on his right hip running right alongside
of him. Coach, coach.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
He pulled up off the dribbling shot a top of
the key three.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
It was a brick. Again, the coaches did not move.
Reeves is in the corner, ready to shoot the perfect three.
He doesn't receive the ball. So I told his dad,
I said, well, that's part of the issue, your son.
They can't highlight what he does well because people don't
play smart basketball. I said, I'm not upset with Fears
who shot it. I'm upset with the coaches who did
(37:41):
not blink an eye. Coach, So what was the old
law process with Baron Davison? Hey, you got enough guts
to shoot it. It's the coaches job to have enough
guts to take you out. That's all coach I told him,
take a bad shot, you know. Simmons run to the
bench problem. You take it. Just don't have a problem
with me taking you out. Sprint to the bench down
(38:03):
next to me, say my bad. We're all good coach,
but they're not coaching those kids at all. So today
I'm going to see and let me see. Let me
tell you some of the people playing. Kobe Bray is
playing today, Lamarck Butler's playing today, Andrew Carr is playing today.
Read Shepherd is supposed to be playing today. I think
(38:25):
I'm Mariray Williams is playing today. Chucky Hepbert wren Smith
are playing today. A lot of people are playing. No
excuse me, I missed wren Smith's game yesterday, but Chucky
is playing today, so couse there would be.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
There are a lot of people playing that we'll be
able to watch.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
There's a lot of Kentucky and Louisville flavor going on,
and I'm wishing them all the best. I want to
see them all land on teams, make money and enjoy
themselves because I had a great time.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
And wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait a minute,
wait a minute, wait a minute, you said and make money?
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Hell, they already have money. Are you crazy?
Speaker 3 (39:06):
Well, you don't love your mind?
Speaker 1 (39:09):
But I'm glad. I am glad they made money. But
but Coach, I want to tell people something. Frank Laden,
one of my favorite coaches, passed away two days ago.
He was the coach of the Utah jazzmin Daryl Griffin
and I were there. He was just a fantastic individual.
Died at ninety three. He was the funniest guy. Well know, Coach.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
He was the funniest guy in the NBA.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Ever point boy. He used to have the fans Coach,
Coach Heed the fans.
Speaker 2 (39:38):
I love him.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
He was a fantastic person. Frank laydon coach, you get
up and get moving. Coach. I'm gonna go to bed.
This is E Sports Radio. We're out here. See my God.
Willing love your beard later you will love you ann
