Bring Anthony eves On from your Shannon Anthony, All comers,
I'm a taker, That's all I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Were you lying about the calison this morning?
Speaker 1 (00:57):
No, I got up it give me so got I've
got moving.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
I had to get some of his quiet.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
It was quiet in here as much as could have
heard a pin drop. I don't know about that one.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
I was getting the man, Anthony, trust me, I was
doing if no one's ever done them, stare push ups.
You go to the fifth step, do ten. Fourth step,
do ten, third step to do ten, second step do
ten and then you're on the floor for ten. If
you can do that, you're pretty good. That's all I
can tell people. I don't want Shannon to get nervous.
But the rocky theme music will be playing. And that
(01:28):
other guy, he I want him too, another guy ring you.
That's all I know him about it? Ring you? How
are you?
Speaker 5 (01:38):
What's up? Young man? How you doing? I see I'm
like and I thank your little delirious this morning. But
that's all right? You know what I mean? I mean,
did you put any muscles? Because I know when you
play golf and you just swing, you pour muscles. But uh,
you know what I mean? How you doing?
Speaker 1 (01:53):
There? You go? There you go.
Speaker 5 (01:56):
I don't think Shannon's really worried about you all. You
can't talk. Well, you ain't got to worry about me, Jed.
I'm just gonna watch o them us beat you down,
you know what I mean? Then I'll step in. I mean,
I ain't too much what I keep saying. You keep
talking about Shannon man, but you never get to him.
I mean, what's going I've been having to meet out
of about many two buildings and I can't get you
(02:18):
seen the near the ring. What's going on? Just ask
me that question. I'll be through with it.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
The agents just can't get the price right, George. The
price has to be right, George.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
I told you, Jed, whatever's necessary, I'll pay for you
to get in there. What what what do you need?
I think we can fundraisers. A lot of callers have
called me and said, George, whatever necessary, we would do sponsorship.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
We're got to do it. I need don King on
this one. Well, the bad guys with the good guys.
But I need real money. I'm not gonna have a
shot at me Without real money on the line, it
doesn't happen. I need Oh.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
Man, come on, don't no bad. I want to see
you that bad. The name is Jerry.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
You ain't that good.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
You gonna exactly get beat up.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
That's all name, image and likeness.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Oh God, I just tohold you.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
But what good seeds?
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Welcome back, No, no question. Had a great time in
Vegas and quick trip, A great time. So here's the deal,
Anthony and George. We're gonna let Anthony just hit the nationally.
We have so much we can't touch it all. So
Anthony's got four hotspots he's gonna give us, George, then
I'm gonna throw it to you for maybe where you
want to go. And then I'm gonna take you all
to something that when I read it, I'm gonna read
(03:33):
it to everyone on the show today. It just troubled
me a little bit, and I'm gonna explain to people
why I disagree with you. You're gonna disagree with me, George,
but I'm loving that.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I know we're gonna be arguing. Be great.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
So Anthony, No, I'm not gonna say anything.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yes, George, what are you say it?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Yes, you are. But that's okay. We're used to it. Now, Anthony,
give us the four national things that are going and
all we need to know about everything's going on.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
But the four things we have to talk about now
we got we got a lot, obviously.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
You know.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
One big things we are getting into is obviously the
MLB Draft did happen over this past weekend, and obviously
we did have a couple of UFL Cardinals get drafted.
So that's always a great sign, always a good thing
to see when you see your college players going on
to the next level. Obviously, Patrick Forbes, the junior right
handed pitcher, was the most high profile prospect attracted as
a second potential rounder by the Dodge of the forty
overall pick, and then obviously the catcher Matt Klein as well,
(04:30):
and then Jake Monroe. Third basement also had Adie King
junior and a couple other guys go as well in
MLB draft, So we were excited to see that, you know, and.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Did Forbes go twenty ninth? I think he went twenty ninth,
didn't And that's supplemental piece of the draft. Yes, yes,
he did.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
He Forbes mhm, okay, that's huge for anyone. And obviously
we got to get into our smaller golf tournament. I
know the Genesis imitation went on this weekend, but we
can't forget about the ISCO Championship out of hurstport I
was there all day yesterday from about three day, about
about three o'clock to about six o'clock. I watched majority
(05:08):
of the second half the guys play. Saw William Mouth.
He's probably been one of the best pusses I've ever
seen at Hurstporne Country Club. Minus nine in the final
round to come out of nowhere and surgery pass Paul Peterson,
who was the favorite at the time, leading to leaving
the group at minus seven, win CG Tour event to
get a two year exemption on tour in a nice
(05:30):
seven hundred and twenty thousand dollars paycheck that weekend.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
That's a great weekend for congratulations. A sixty one. George
is incredible in the final round to come from nowhere
to take home seven hundred thousand your that's gonna kind
of be what happens to you when y'all mess with me.
Rocky's coming, that's all.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
He's coming now. I think you hit your head when
you were doing the exercises this morning. Dad, you gotta talking.
Delivered it to us this morning. What's going all? Check
him out?
Speaker 3 (05:57):
And before we go out in it for the man,
I think you delirious, little system.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Get up, get moving. It's Monday. Oh hey, they won't
even test me for CTE. Guys, I'm just gonna be honest,
but I'm not even gonna go there because that There
are a lot of people that have trouble with that.
So I'm not good Because George, it is really hard.
If you say anything inappropriate, you get in trouble. So
I'm not George, So how did that? How did Hirstborn Country?
(06:27):
It looked good on television, Man, I watched it and
it did represented itself. Well, you didn't have one of
those minus thirties, George. When you have those minus twenty George.
For the players, it looks phenomenal.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
But there's these a couple of guys that did their
post course interviews that played in Hurstborn and they said
Hirstborn is tough. It's got small greens, a lot of
different looks that gives you. And a lot of guys
on there that even played in Valhalla and some playing
the PJ championshiphurst but they said Hurstborn.
Speaker 6 (06:56):
Was harder than Valhalla.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
The only reason why Valhalla played lowers score similar or
even close is because of weather conditions. But hirst Born,
they said, Hurshporne thought your boy played a tough scores.
The rough wasn't crazy sick, you know, it wasn't just
kill you if you got into the rough. But the
sam Bookers are steep. There's a lot of different looks
that gives you for small green pads, two level greens
(07:18):
that have slopes and drop offs, and it was tough
from the guys playing. Even from talking to a few
members on the course. They were saying, you know, Hirshborne
is just one of the hardest courses to shoot under
par on, and for somebody to go minus nine and
shoot sixty one six inches away from beating the Courts
record on the back nine is impeccable, honestly, and it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
I'm sorry, go ahead, Oh no, no, yes, because George,
I've had some big name players Luke Liszt, Cameron Champion,
Kevin Kissner, they're big time golf in the Steorge they're not.
You know, we did not have Roy McElroy here, No,
but we had some very very accomplished golfers. And great job,
great score, and it look good on television. I'm glad
(08:05):
they've moved it from Lexington, George to Louisville, God's Country. Louisville, George.
You understand, I'm tyed Ron always telling me Lexington's God's country.
So now Lewis's God's country.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
Well well, well, well, big brother carried it so long, Jed.
We just all the time to let little brother have opportunity.
You know how the big brothers do. Every now and
then you give a little brother a chance I mean,
y'all did very well. Good job, and we'll be back at.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
Lex We got we got tired and George, well you're.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Back in Lexington. We're gonna get to that rival in
the TVT. What else is going on, Anthony? What else
is going on? Because we're not gonna let George off?
Speaker 4 (08:45):
What else is going on?
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Have a TVT? Obviously everyone knows they're excited to see
the villagin play. Obviously got some new additions this year
and a couple of guys that came back. You know,
I think the roster on paper looks like a solid team.
The real deal is, how's the chemistry gonna look? Obviously
some of the guys on.
Speaker 6 (09:03):
The roster that I've already slid by this spot, who.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Got Shane Dehannon, Earl Clark, Mantres, Harrold were turning back.
David Johnson is gonna be a newcomer as well. Now, wow,
Chris Jones, Jay Scrubb.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
From davidst year. David played last year, Anthony.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
That's right, he did, he did?
Speaker 6 (09:19):
He didn't.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Then we have Peyton David played last year. Yes, David
plate last year. Yep.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
We have David Sloan on there. Who was actually David
Sloan is new. I got the to Davids backwards. Don't
know why. David Johnson, David Sloan a newcomer. Russ Smith
will will be turning as well. And then also we
got a new face on that too, My buddy Ray
Spoiler will be playing this year.
Speaker 6 (09:37):
So excited to see that.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Exactly I mean, And George, that's that's a solid team
before we get to Kentucky's team. That's a solid team, George.
A lot of these guys did play professionally.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Last year, So George, we shop last year's game.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
I'm gonna be honest with everyone. The last five minutes
there were more air balls than made baskets. They were George, George, guys,
there were more air balls and made baskets. But I
think this year could be competitive all the way through.
We know Kentucky got it done last year, but I
think Louis was increased its opportunities to have a chance. Now,
(10:16):
Chris Jones, crazy, Chris, David Sloan, George used to be
a quality player.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
Why are you laughing, George, I was just I was
just thinking about you. With talking about you, y'all really
did good until you play who That's good. That's okay.
We'll go ahead, go ahead, Jed.
Speaker 7 (10:34):
You know you know, cut his mic, just cut his mic.
And this is what this is what, this is what
bothered me.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
We let you host it in your house, and then
after the game, after we beat you up, you want
to attack us. I don't understand that, Jed. I mean,
come on, little bro, you can do better. She knew
it's not back.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
She I knew alone. She I knew it's not.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Well.
Speaker 7 (11:05):
Let me make sure I don't see Anthony I knew
on their.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
List, say that.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Back he was.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
The list.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
He could be on the team.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
I don't see it on the list. But you know,
I don't think their final team in the roster. I don't, George,
there's a possibility he could be on there. So I'm
not going to sit there and doubt it like he isn't.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
George's final game, he had like fifty he had fifteen rebounds.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Georgie was just tired and he was talking to some
of the Kentucky players and water came out of his mouth.
That's what happened, George.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
Oh okay, everybody else, I'm glad you cleared that up.
I'm glad you cleared that up.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Yes, everybody who's playing rough Leah, I can't die gott.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
We gotta get into the Kentucky roster over here, Okay,
the other side.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Let's get.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
There.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
You go, all right, but the champion out my fuck.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Yeah, I know, we know. It's your fault.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
You didn't win it last.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Year, George. You just beat Louisville, but you did not
win it. You didn't win the TV team.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Now, but we took care of this region. We took
care of this region.
Speaker 7 (12:15):
You'll have one team and you got to come to George.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Have you come through Louiso again, George.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
Come on, I'm getting I'm gonna you and I are
not going to be. I don't got your little motional.
I'm sorry, big big brother men to get your emotional
go ahead and go ahead, becuse we're getting a little
most of it. So calm down. Okay.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
So this is This is as of June twenty seventh.
Obviously it says they have more additions are expected prior
to the TVC starting to add to the lost Amilia roster,
but right now they have Ansley Alan Mooren. They got
DJ Burns on there the State, they got Willie colly Stein,
Archie Goodwin, Andrew and Aaron Harrison, Kareem Canter, Drawn Lamb,
(13:00):
DeAndre Liggins and the Khalil Whitney is a roster currently
right now. Now there will be more people on there
obviously before they do start their first game. Same thing
with the Ville, we just don't know who exactly.
Speaker 6 (13:10):
Like Anawaca could be back on the vill.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
They could add more former UK players to be on
the Lot Familiar team as well, but a lot of
the players have played last year. They have a couple
of maybe one or two new editions on each side.
Maybe one guy dropped out, but for for the most part,
we'll see similar teams this year coming up. I think
the Villa has more more players, more additions than the
Lot Familiar does. I think Lot Familia is kind of
(13:33):
almost the same Scever Burns on there, but I hate
to say it, I don't know what is gonna be
and he's not gonna be in college basketball shape, so
uh yeah, I mean he played.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Last year, Anthony. I saw something on him and he
played last year. He says he's ready. I saw something
on the news last night.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
So yes, what do you think your team George, your team, Uh.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
I'm not as excited as I was with last year's team.
I thought last year team gave us a little bit more.
But uh, you know, I think they all listened to
what you said, though, Jared. They had several more players
so that they can be able to get to the
end of the game this year.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Because you were there, George, you were there. You saw
we're looking at the other like, whoa, were they.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
Ever pick the finish line? Maybe to get to the
finish line? The finish line.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Oh, it was funny.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
They were hoping for free they were hoping for free throw, Jared.
People were probably just so they.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Take the whoa, George, please all right, but.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Let's be fair, though, Jared, Jed, let's be fair. The
crowd got the drilling, pumping them young men, thought they
were still twenty and twenty one, and they were giving
us everything. I thought it was really a well played game,
and I got to give the crowd outstanding ovation because
they made them young men play, because they were giving
everything they had, although they didn't have much in the end,
(14:51):
they gave us everything they had.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
George, boy, I'm telling you, you look at things half
full all the time. Yeah, there were thirteen thousand, five
hundred people there, and.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
They were laughing like you and I at the end,
going boy, will they ever.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Get to the end?
Speaker 4 (15:04):
Come on, George, But I'm talking about the rock Rutgers
or the crowd. Jerby, Well, you know that crowd was Rutcase.
You know before the game, they were Rutgers all game long.
You know, you gotta give them credit.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Jare.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
That crowd was pumping them up out there. Now, you
got to give credit up now, don't don't don't fake it, hey.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
George, No, George, thirteen thousand people, the largest crowd ever
had the TV team, Well, what did you expect if
Kentucky and louis are playing. That's the way it is.
And I can't wait till this, George. Both teams are
good this year in basketball. I can't wait. Finally we
got good rivalries again. Louis was improved again to where
I can talk a little jump. It's gonna be fun, right,
(15:40):
It's gonna be fun.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
And and and he said something that that and answer
really about it up because he said they're doing it
like they do in the state championship. If Louisville plays
the plays, they'll play each other in the second round.
It should be some kind of way. They should never
ever meet unless they can meet in the finals. I
think it'd be more than thirteen regions.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Yeah, you're right, they do it by regions. But I
agree with George.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
I get to play in Louisville. They get to play
in Louisville, George. That's the only good thing they do.
Get to play in Louisville.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
The teams, that's the team that sells the four thousand
tickets first. Yeah, it does not matter what we mean,
it has anything to do with this year.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
That was last year. I know.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
I look at the matter where we play, y'all. We
can play in Paduca, Kentucky.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
If you do not, let's go to Paduca. Then let's
take the game to you know what you Hey, I'll
call Luke Hankok. You called Sean Woods to two coaches.
Let's just move the game. Tell you let's move. That's all.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
We'll just let the TV t know we just.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Moved the game, period, point blank. We'll find somewhere to play.
We'll tell you the Pikeville and play it up at
the coliseum in Pikeville. George. We'll play you all anywhere
that's all.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
Oh, oh, oh, my fault. I thought I'm not us
play y'all anyway. I didn't know you was reversing it.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
Yeah, we'll play y'all in where we're not worried about.
We're gonna take you home. Because we sold four thousand
tickets for George. The area that sold the most amount
of tickets the quickest, got to hold the region. So
big Brother in Louisville is hosting Little Brother Lexington.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
How you liking George?
Speaker 7 (17:21):
How you like me?
Speaker 5 (17:22):
Now?
Speaker 4 (17:24):
It sounds pretty fun. I thought you were doing jokes.
I didn't know you was really serious. I'm sorry, can't
get your tongue.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Anthony. Here us with before we get a break, before
we go to break us with Wimbledon, and then we're
gonna start to get into all the news. What happened
in Wimbledon this year?
Speaker 6 (17:42):
Well, obviously we do know that.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
You know, they had the one and two face off
that was pretty pretty familiar face that we've seen. Janick
Cener and College Outcres. They did play recently about two
weeks ago. Malchrest came from a drastic comeback when they
were playing. They played that five hour and twenty nine
minute long event on the longest tournaments along games in
tennis history. This time it was the other side of
(18:05):
the Onix Center seeing seeing the championship. He did fall
the first set six to four to cors Akers, and
then swept him three.
Speaker 6 (18:12):
Straight after that, six to four. In every set he
went six four, six, four.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Sixty four to win three to one, almost winning straight sets.
But we always said it for some reason, the winner
always loses the first set and then it magically just
turns around into prime Michael Jordan, and then they just
go off and win three sets in a row. And
I've seen it too many times. I'm just it's almost
like at first I thought I was joking with myself
what I said.
Speaker 6 (18:33):
I was like, every time they lose the first set, I.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Feel like they start to win right afterwards, and then
they just go on and win the rest of the games.
And it seems to come true even at Wimbledon. So
I'm keeping my theory as it right now. You gotta
lose the first set to win the championship. You come
out and win it just it just mentally does something
to you.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
It happened this year quite a bit, George. But anyway, guys,
we've got to get to break. When we come back,
we'll mention the women's side. Haven't forgot you. We've got
to get the breaks. So shout to do his favor.
It's seven twenty four the sports radio for numbers five
zero two, five hundred. We'll talk to you in a minute.
Welcome back to EAT Sports Radio seven point thirty one.
(19:17):
I had to run two commercials because George just wouldn't
let us off the show. He just wouldn't. So Anthony
hit me with the women's side winner of Wimbledon, and
then we're gonna get into some juicy things. We're gonna
let George take us in a different direction to the
dark side.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
What happened on the women's side, an well, the women's.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Side wasn't It wasn't much of a match, if you
want to put it like that. Igasyek did win the
women's one would in against a million Inisova. She won
and straight says six zero six zero exactly.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Fifty seven minutes, George, it was over. I thought they
were warming up the mattress. Done, George a month, talk
to dollars with you. It was kind of embarrassing time, and.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
Wasn't such a disadvantage, Anthony, how did you see it?
It just was it was It was a It wasn't
a disadvantage.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
It was the number eighth ranked player in the country
versus the number right, number thirteenth ain't playing the players,
so they were both within the top pointials.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
Okay, I'm just okay, just a bad days, real bad
bad day, George, real bad George warm up. But anyway,
another great Wimbledon. Absolutely so now I love George. I'm
throwing it to you before I let it go. No, George,
I do want to mention some names that played in
(20:37):
the golf tournament here this co We had five believable natives,
five Sante Xavier graduates, Drew Doyle, Cooper Musselman, Brandon Doyle,
Daniel Iceman. I know that can't be true, but George,
that's what it says. And h Stephane Staling's junior. So
congratulations to those five and great tournament. It looked well
(21:01):
on television, Church, it looked nice. I looked at I
watched it on the Golf Channel yesterday, so I was happy.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
For Louie to continue to bring more events here, as
many events as we can have.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
George, we need to have professional events first class.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
I'm working on the national pup Pup. I'm talking, I'm
talking with I'm stalking with Steph Hold Now Ma and
Steph Curry are talking about this. Now you know he's
a man. I'm trying to get the national championship at Jerry,
and I think I'll be able to take you out
with me. We'll probably out there about two hours totally.
(21:35):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
I knew you'd take it somewhere.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
I just didn't think you'd take us to punt punt, George.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
We would curage. I knew we were gonna go to
the dark side, but not put.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
I was waiting to any that too, Jarry. I just
couldn't wait. He took me down man.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
So George, you've heard some of the national news. Where
do you want to go with the first we got
Summer League, which we can tell. Where do you want
to go? George?
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Talk about any news on the Dirt Bowl?
Speaker 1 (22:04):
Do we have any more information on that?
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Well?
Speaker 4 (22:08):
No, I went down there yesterday, Jared. Only thing is stopped.
It just had a tire marks on the court. But
the games went on as you usual, and that we
had several people that came down and helped out, uh
donating things and we got wider donated down there. So
uh it only thing Jared was just one ignorant person
that acted the food. Did you know he was already
(22:30):
a criminal before he started because he stole the car
that he put it on the court with. So it
wasn't just an average citizen, some young person that just
wanted to be a fool. It was a thief that
were doing things that he normally do, calls and chaos
around the state. So but we went on. If nothing
stopping the championship, wul going on jail and God be willing,
maybe we can get some donation and we get that
court back to like it used to be. And thanks
(22:52):
for all the people came out and participated because they
having some great games. They have some great games. Oh yeah,
to spend.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
Heiny, George, the newspaper is covering the teams.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
I read in yesterday's newspaper, George, they're covering the teams.
Kobe Hendricks, I mean I rate Thomas Comen's younger brother
has a team. They had his their two and two.
They had the teams, the records, the newspapers covering it.
I was glad to see that.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
George, Yeah, yeah, well you know, Jay, you know, when
a catastrophe comes, they found a way to make news
out of the baby boy. But I'm glad. I think
it's fantastic and the doub Bowl's coming long way. And
like I say, for the people who are doing a
great job, Cornell, Ray Vaughn and all all the staff
out there, because everybody does a great job. I just
(23:39):
know those two names right off the top of my head.
But I want to give everybody credit because they've worked
this year and they've taken a long way. So uh,
let's let's give a shout out and let's keep supporting
it and the fans keep coming and we'll make it working.
For those people who don't appreciate let's try to keep
them off the court jet.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
That's all well, George and Anthony, anything else you I
take it to it. I'm taking it to George.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
I know you're gonna take the.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
Side of Andrew Brant, who works for Louisville. I know
you're gonna take the side of Andy. Andrew Brynn is
our general manager of our name imagine likeness. Andy brash
Shear is our governor. As you will know, Senate bill
by I got an issue. I got an issue with George.
Not the bill, but something that's in the bill. So
(24:25):
you want me to just take us there? George?
Speaker 7 (24:26):
Can I take us there?
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Now?
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Is there anything you want to get out before I
go there? No?
Speaker 4 (24:30):
No, no, no, you go ahead and take it.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Okay. I want you an Anthony to hear this. Okay,
last week I didn't get to it and I cut
it out of the paper. New era in full swing. Okay,
we know name imagine likeness everywhere. This is all Kentucky school.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
This isn't about Louisville, This isn't about you a Ka.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
This is not about more eddies. It's all of them,
all of them. I want you all to know that
we were talking about transparency. George and I have always
talked about Everyone knows that Jerry Eves wants college athletes
to be paid. I'm glad they're paid, and I don't
care what anyone says.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
I just don't care.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
It's a billion dollar business and they're the last ones
to benefit. I don't want to hear anything from anybody.
It's sickness. But that's where we are in America right now,
and I can handle that, but I don't want to
hear anything from anybody. Here's the deal. In March, Governor
Andy Washeer signed Senate Bill three into law, which amends
the state's Name, Image and Likeness legislation so that it
(25:30):
would allow schools to pay athletes directly in accordance with
the House Settlement. Okay, and we know the House Settlement
got me, guys, and we know about Judge Claude Wilkins
and all she has done to get us to this point.
All right, I'm good with that, George. Everything's fine and dandy.
But as the third grade reject continued to read, I said,
(25:53):
uh oh oh, I didn't like these things, so let
me continue as directly. According to the House Senate statement,
the law also made arrangements between schools and athletes exempting
from disclosure through public records requests. The school's public record
office told Security Journal the University of Louisville does not
(26:13):
maintain a final namage and likeness template. The terms of
these agreements are individually negotiated. Got me an exclusive from
Andrew Brent, So the department tries to keep contract standards
across sports lines. I'm with that, but George, they don't
have to let us know what they make gotten. This
(26:35):
law made agreement between schools and athletes exempt from disclosure
through public records requests, which means, George, I can't the CURI,
you can't. The Louisville defender can't. You can't. We can't
put in a request for them to tell us what
the kids make. So, George, I know you're glad. I
know you're happy about that. Well, he's probably a little indifferent,
(26:59):
because what do you like to You're always like, you
like covering for the athletes.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
You're just like taking care of them, you know, You're like, No, No,
Once again, athletes had nothing to do with this. It
was the policy makers who stepped up and did this
year because they could play. They weren't. They weren't worried
about the young people, Jared. They were worried about how
much they could go out and still athletes. For Jared,
(27:23):
that's what it was all about. It had nothing to
do They didn't care about those young people. You know
what I mean. No, it doesn't huh, excuse me, I'm sorry,
I can't believe you.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
George. You're right, George, without a doubt, it had nothing
to do with the players.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
You're right, George, kudos, George.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
You're right.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
I been right, Jared, I don't. I don't know with
who it is. I defend right. If a player is wrong,
he's wrong. But most of the time adults issues players
and athletics.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
With the cover.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
We know they're going to get paid. So I just
wanted people. I'm gonna have to get on some of.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
The former players. I can go back to nineteen eighty one, George,
no payments, when people were telling me to get my
butt back in the gym. When I'm Christmas shop, George,
fans are fans, and they're gonna be active.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Fans are gonna know that these players are being paid,
period point blank.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
We know they're being paid, so it doesn't make any
difference if we don't know how much the heat as
people would say, the criticism got me the spotlight. It's
all the players, no matter what, George, this only covers
if the school's paid the wrong people the wrong amount
of money, that's all.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
What do they know who they invested? Go ahead, if
I can say this, what the schools did? They covered
that butt. So if it goes wrong and we bring
up player in and he's not really doing well. But
like you, I'm not gonna get the heat. The player
is gonna get the heat. But like you said, what
(28:53):
I'm in favor of, Jared, I love it that you're
not gonna be able to tell nobody how much money
I'm making. Like you said, all you can do is estimate,
and that heat won't be as bad because I probably
either make it double what you're saying. I'll be making
at least what you're saying, So you know I don't
want you to know what I'm making.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Truthfully, I just can't believe the exemption guys. They're being paid,
tell us point blank, I just wanted them paid. I
didn't need all the secrecy.
Speaker 7 (29:22):
Well they don't.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
We shouldn't know what they Yes we should. Yes, they're
eighteen years old.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
They can be drafted. Yes we should. George, that makes
absolutely no sense other than we won't be able to
evaluate our schools making bad investments, will only be able
to speculate. We'll be sitting here guessing. It'll be a
guessing game again. I want to know if Andrew Brent's
worth his money.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Same thing.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Every school Kentucky has an Andrew Brett.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
It's not about Louisville, Western Eastern Kentucky has an Andrew Brent.
Everyone has an Andrew Brnt that is going to help
them negotiate these contracts.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
Got me, George, every school, yes, every Power five school.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Excuse me, every Power five school. So guys, what's the
big deal? Let me know. I want to know, George.
I know it. Shake yoders All's animates. Okay, is he
worth two hundred and eighty five million? We'll watch and see.
But George, I just don't get this year we go again.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
We're not gonna tell you.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
I just don't know why we got contracts signed, George.
So now we've got contract signed, why not? I just
don't George, I just don't get it at that part.
I don't understand. Anthony. What do you think you got
any You got any bacon in this in this breakfast? Anthony?
Speaker 4 (30:42):
At all?
Speaker 1 (30:43):
What do you think? No?
Speaker 8 (30:45):
I mean, it's a tough one, I will say for
the most part, because obviously, fully disclosing salaries and what
kids are getting paid makes a huge difference on evaluation.
Obviously from a coach's aspect in athletics tea at athletic
departments aspect, and obviously the viewpoints of fans and how
(31:06):
they think of certain things.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Obviously, you know, for playing a player one point two
million dollars and he is averaging six seven points a game.
You're sitting down games, he's faking injuries. People are gonna
have something to say about it. They're gonna be a
little upset. I think they're trying to do this, like
I kind of understand why they're doing it, and I
kind of don't. That's why I'm in on the Cusp line.
I get it for trying to keep a player's aspect,
trying to keep them mentally more locked in rather than
(31:32):
you know, people knowing how much different their networth is,
people always asking them for money, even family members, and
trying to keep them in a situation where they're still
getting paid, but it's still very minimalistic.
Speaker 4 (31:42):
They're still not.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
Treating them techally like professional professional athletes, even though if
you're getting paid for doing something, you're somewhat a professional.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
You know, it's just it.
Speaker 6 (31:50):
Doesn't matter what.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
Playing and what role you have.
Speaker 7 (31:55):
You know, if you're if.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
You're an account executive and you're getting paid, you're a professional,
and what you do, you want you training for it
you know, you've got the knowledge for people respect you
enough to be like, we're gonna invest in this person,
or we're gonna go to this person, watch and pay
for this person because they take pride in what they do.
So I get that point. But when it comes down
to that aspect, you have to show us some type
of number. Even if it's just a base salary and
(32:16):
they get botus and centives on top, that's fine.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
There, you go give me something.
Speaker 6 (32:20):
We've got to see.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
Five hundred thousand all day if they win twenty five
plus games, extra hundred k if they make the tournament,
plus fifty k if they want, plus half a million dollars,
just like you don't have to tell that.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
That's like the coaches, yes, but the base pay you'd
like to see, George, we.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
Gotta before we get the break.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
What do you think? Yeah, because I'm gonna give you
all more information after the break. George, you got anything
to add before we go to break?
Speaker 4 (32:44):
The only thing I have to add is, like me
and Anthony said on the Friday Show that like you
said that you got to treat them like adults, but
you also got to prepare to these young men what
they're getting ready to face when they getting ready to
make these means and means of dollars, and they're gonna
walk in and be judged like they're gonna be judged,
you know, like we said, you got to get them
some psychological or some help on being evaluated like that, Jeded,
(33:05):
because that's a beast within itself with the young people.
You know, I really think they really covered their own
bus and wasn't really Again I say they wasn't thinking
about the young people, Jade. They were thinking about make
sure that the school, the coaches, we don't get evaluated.
Just the young people. Put it back on their show.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
That's that's we're gonna get to break it something forty
five when they come back and to read more.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
And I want people to.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Understand, this isn't Louisville.
Speaker 4 (33:28):
Don't go to Louisville.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Kentucky has the contracts. IU has contracts, Butler has contracts.
Got every Power five school got contracts. They'll have a
position just like Andrew Brnt. They'll be doing the exact
same thing. So this isn't about Louisville. This is about
college athletics. It's just it was in the Curier Journal
(33:52):
and Andrew Brent's name is there, so we're talking about it.
But this is every school, So don't you have to
sit there, Kentucky fans and go hey, Louisville. Now, this
same thing applies in this state for the University of Kentucky,
period point blank. So after the break, we're going to
get into it more. We'll talk to you all in
a minute. Welcome back to EVE Sports Radio seven point
(34:12):
fifty on Monday. I do believe it's July fourteenth, twenty
twenty five. Beautiful day. Get out, get to work, George Anthony.
Here's some of the questions that have been asked for
the last three years, depending on and they're not standard contracts,
so each school may have a different wording of their contract.
And want people to understand that a contract is negotiated
(34:34):
and signed and depending on the seasonal window of each
sport and athletes, contract term could last anywhere from six
months to ten months or even a year. Okay, George Anthony,
I would have liked it for seen two year deals.
I would have liked to see that. I don't know
where that stands, but I would have liked to see that, George,
(34:56):
more than even a year Brent said payments will be
distributed in a form of installments throughout the term. Through
some athlete situations may warrant money to begin that it's
not necessarily a signing bonus, but an earlier payment before
the monthly starts. So, George, there could be most of
them will be in consistion with the season, but there
(35:17):
may be an early payment or two. And I call
into the signing bonus. I am, but at least we're
giving a particular.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
You you go get money before the season. What's that
called a bonus? It's a bonus.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
So anyway, guys, we're starting to get some definitions in
their football players contract terms the season payments continuing into
January and February. Brent said a basketball player's payment will
continue currently through April, perhaps longer depending on the situation. Okay,
if he's going to stay two years. As where athlete
(35:57):
responsibility goes, those are also mostly standard across the department. Okay, now,
what else is important George? That I need people to
know we have similar responsibilities for every student athlete on contract.
Brent said, I'm not going to get into specifics of
what those are, but terms and conditions for Louisville and
for the student athletes. So, George, again, there are some
(36:19):
now listen to this. I like this article. Brent decline
to answer whether Student Code of Conduct our GP eligibility
requirements are included on the list of athletes responsibility. I
think there should be, George. Hey, it's the bottom line.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
Bottom line, they should be.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
So again, I want to know they should be. So
I'm hoping University of Louisville they should be. Forget the
parents that don't want it, the players that they don't
want it. Then again, if you can't go to class, George,
if you think you're a one and dinner, if you're
going to transfer every year, you can't go to class
for six months, come on, man, get me an investment
(37:00):
in you. I still would like to see two year deals.
Speaker 4 (37:04):
George, But Jared, part of the NCAA, don't they have
to care a great point at it to be able
to transfer like that. I don't think you can just transfer.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
Without that's a great point. But I don't see. Now
here's the deal, George, great point. I don't want people
to understand this. There's no way that each food takes
everybody's transfer credit hours. So I don't know how kids
until they have graduated, are almost graduated from their school
can bounce around like this, George, because every university does
(37:32):
not accept the curriculum from the other one. So Georgie,
if you had sixty hours after two years at Louisville
and you went to u c l A, u cla
Is probably don't accept thirty of them. Now you're not
on time. So I don't know how that affects.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
I don't know the deal.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
I can't answer.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
I'll say this, so, jud most most freshmen, if you
transfer your freshman you know, you can take your core
classes and then you'll almost take all your hobuls with you.
And then when you'll upper classmen, as long as you
maybe get in a major, if you're a medicine and
you got a major at another school that's close to yours,
you'll take most of them that way, that will keep
(38:08):
you online. And then they go to summer school every
year so they can go back to that school. In
the classes that they don't have, they can make up
for in the summer.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
Most schools, okay, but George, that's what they're doing.
Speaker 1 (38:19):
But that's not what's supposed to happen. George, Oh, I know, yeah, yeah,
he is different than the Indiana curriculum. That is different
than the Illinois curriculum. They everyone has a different curriculum,
George and George. Universities do not like to accept other
schools curriculums. They don't. I mean, kids hate when they transfer.
Their parents are always so upset. My kid North Carolina
(38:40):
and T. I mean I had some very intelligent kids, George,
and I had a young man that went to Emory
in Atlanta, Georgia, a very good school. Georgie's a junior
college transfer. He transfers with seventy two credit hours North
Carolina A and T to forty three. He never got
to be He never got to be at North Carolina
and T at straight age, but they only accepted forty
(39:01):
three of his hours. His mother, who was a judge,
was hot as a rattlesnake. But George, they do not. Universities,
they do not. And that's the I don't know how, George,
being honest with you, I don't know how these kids
are transferring like this because well we know one thing.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
Michigan has turned down football and basketball players.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
The young man Love who went from North Carolina to
Arizona signed with Michigan. First, Michigan said, hate to tell you,
we're not accepting your hours from North Carolina, and did not.
They've done it twice and once in football. So that's
the only school I know major school that has told
players know you can't transfer here. But that's the only
one I know of, but they have. I don't know
(39:42):
how they're transferring, George, being honest with you, that's something
I'm gonna have to look into. I really don't a
great question you just asked. I don't know how they're
doing it, the major transferring every year, George. I don't
know how they do that and still stay on line
to graduate, which is still the purpose of going to college.
I'm get paid, George, should we do your contracts? I
(40:03):
still want them graduating, just like you do, just like
Anthony graduated. We all did.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
I just don't.
Speaker 7 (40:08):
I don't get it now, that part I don't.
Speaker 1 (40:10):
I'll have to ask you. I've heard are Brent and
Andrew Brent to explain it to it, because I don't
know how they're transferring now, I don't. I don't understand it.
Speaker 4 (40:19):
You couldn't do it.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
You couldn't do it, so I mean, yeah, great, great question.
But George, a great article. At least.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
I got some mess. I was gonna say, Jared, because
you were you were talking about the Cure journal covering
the Dirt Bow. Well, I usually don't like to brag
about myself, Jered, but you know the Cured journals only
covering the dirt Bow because of the incident that went on. Jerry,
I have been coming to dirt Bot for the last
twenty twenty years making these young men starts putting them
in our paper, and Jerry never do our hear that.
(40:48):
We talk about that and again again not to talk
about much. But at the University of Louisville, Jerry, I'm
probably the oldest pressbotage for the choops, the photographer I've
covered a little bit more than any other photographer.
Speaker 1 (41:01):
Outer I agree with that, and we don't.
Speaker 4 (41:03):
We don't. We don't want to mention that until Catasty
comes up there. That amazes me how we get involved
and talk about what a great job they're doing. The
only dad because that it's something that went on along bad.
I was there when there was good.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
There you go, George, Well, George, you just got it
out and I've got no problem with it.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
At all, George.
Speaker 4 (41:21):
I thought about what's going on.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
You've been kneeling on that floor for a long time.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
I've been wanting somebody to run over you, though, George.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
But I'm not gonna say that out loud.
Speaker 4 (41:32):
And I appreciate that, and I appreciate you for your candness. Sure,
I've been waiting for the.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
Big burns, sixty to three hundred, the trip and fall
on you. I didn't say that out loud. George.
Speaker 4 (41:44):
You are my friend. You are my friend, and I
love you, brother. I love you, you love you all.
Have a great day.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
Talk to you tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (41:51):
Bye bye,
