Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to Eve's Sports Radio. July twenty ninth, twenty
twenty five. Shannon had to let me know that I'm
not going to kidch you. It is tuessy. I do
know that, and it's going to be another beautiful day.
At least my yard got a little rain yesterday, so
my irrigation system was working well, Thank you God. Green

(00:21):
grass looks good. I have to cut it again, but
I needed the rain. My bushes and trees and grass
needed the rain. And I'm sure a lot of other
people also. Welcome back to the show. Of course, Yes,
this is Eve Sports Radio. Sometimes you don't know that.
Sometimes I'm a gardener, sometimes I'm a meteorologist. Sometimes I'm
a comedian. It just depends. But this is seven ninety KRD.

(00:46):
I've got Shannon behind the glass, and I've got my
younger son, Anthony's on the other line. Anthony, welcome to
the show. How are you.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
I'm good. I'm a forewarn everybody for the gardener over here.
Some days I'm like, I think he's overwatering the grass.
He might just be killing it.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
At this point, Anthony Milliard's a cement streak. I haven't
overwatered that grass at all. I'm just trying to keep
the live grass that playing it alive. That's all, Just
trying to keep it alive, Anthony. Out front, you don't
want your yard looking two big bear spots. So people understand.
I had to take down huge thirty year old trees

(01:24):
and they left big bear spots. So I had to
play grass eat, you gotta water it are the young
grass will die immediately. So that's why it's been working
the mess out of me this summer, and I'm tired
of it. Also, that's why i was glad for the rain.
I needed God's help, so we received it. So see,
just trying to make sure you keep the yard looking good,
that's all. I didn't say anything about the back. I

(01:46):
just said the front. Now, Anthony, we've got a lot
to get to. I mean a lot, of course. Ryan
Sandberg died yesterday, great baseball player, sixty five years old, Anthony.
I mean, that's my era, that's my guy. He was
playing when I was playing. I know a lot about him.

(02:06):
It's just way too soon, way too soon. But you
know what we say that, Anthony, I say that it's
not my call. We're always saying way too soon, that's
God's call, not our call. You just better lived today
for today. That's all I can tell people. We had
another senseless shooting. Me and Town New York have been
there numerous times. Three forty five Park Avenue, I mean

(02:31):
numerous times. Coach Beard and I have walked here numerous times. Again,
you just never know, So I'm not going to say
too early. Just live your life when you have the opportunity,
and that is today. So, Anthony, we got a lot
going on, just tons, and there's a lot of news
we're gonna get to. I do want you in, and

(02:53):
I did not tell you that Dave Hubert will be
calling in at seven forty five. We'll talk again really
quickly about the cars show at Mike Lenning's today. Go out.
It's a fundraiser, guys, and make sure you make a
donation and see a lot of fantastic cars. But we'll
have Dave Huber on today at seven forty five, Anthony,
and We've got just a lot controversial things to speak about.

(03:18):
So I'm gonna throw it to you. I'm gonna let
you get the national news out of the way. Well no,
I'm not, Anthony, I can't, guys. Let me tell you
what tomorrow. Anthony Baby one of my best shows ever,
and I'm going to tell someone. I'm gonna say a
name that a lot of people are recognized in this
area and a lot of people will not. But you

(03:39):
must hear his story tomorrow. His name is Randy WHDe Oh. Guys.
He was a great basketball player, great basketball player at
Pleasure Edge Park High School and his life story is fantastic.
I went on to Alabama to play college. He was
there during some trying times, which I'm not going to

(04:00):
tell you all about, but i want you all to
make sure that you all listen. And it's so funny.
Right now. I can't take him. Randy is calling me
right this minute. I know he's listened. Randy's probably gonna say, Jerry,
I'm not calling, but Randy, you can't let me down,
big fella. I just can't pick up the phone right now,
Randy because it'll disconnect me. So Randy, I will get

(04:23):
back with you. But guys, I just want you all
what a fantastic player person life and the things that
he's gone through. It's inspiring for a lot of you.
You'll have to hear his story because I'm telling you.
They've told this man that he had two weeks, three
weeks to live years ago, and you know it, Randy

(04:44):
Widell's still kicking. So what an inspirational story. I just
hope he's been wavering on me. He's not a guy
that likes to speak publicly about this. But I met
his son and his sons direct for a pleasure rich Park.
His kids are all teachers and done so well. He's
got three of them. I mean, he's so proud of

(05:06):
his family. I'm just hoping, guys, that I can persuade
Randy to call in tomorrow so that we can listen
to his story. That's all there is to it. And
I'm hoping that he didn't think it was today, because
I did tell him to call it seven fifteen tomorrow.
But we'll talk to you again. And yes, that's Randy.
But I can't pick it up. I just can't pick

(05:28):
it up. I want you, guys, but I'll cut you
off so I will get back with Randy during the break.
So Anthony, I'm gonna throw it to you and we're
gonna talk a little bit about the national news. But
please stay tuned for tomorrow's show. So Anthony what's going
on nationally.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
So we got a lot going on. Obviously. One of
the big things we want to get into it, obviously
we talked about it a few months ago, is the
big trading of Luca Donald's still Los Angeles leepers for
Anthony Davis. Now he is supposed to be a new
look Lucas. Now he's finally slimmed down, lost weight, changed
his guy completely around, and no sugar gluten free. He's

(06:08):
looking swim again. You think that's gonna be a big
difference making for the season coming up.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
I think you will be Anthony. It's the first time
I've ever seen him look like a real athlete. He's
a player. Now, Let's don't get it twisted. Luca Doc
just can play. He is skilled. He's not an athlete
running around jumping over people, Anthony. He knows how to play.
He can put the ball on the floor. He can
manipulate you off the dribble, he can shoot the mid range,
the step back, the float, or the three. He can

(06:38):
catch and shoot off the pass and off the dribble.
He's skilled. He just wasn't in condition to play top
flight basketball in the entire eighty two games. That was
his whole problem. Now, he did take the Maverage to
the finals. I want people to understand I'm not new
knocking Lucas ability, but long term, I still agreed with

(06:59):
the trade. I wouldn't have put three hundred million into
that body. I didn't say it to his skill set.
I said into that body. So I agreed with the
trade with the Mavericks. But he is talented, really talented.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Aw I like that answer.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
I don't disagree with you, and I think I thought.
I thought it was still a good move at the
time too. But if Luca can get in shape and
stay in shape, I think it'll be a win for
the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
I'm just. I know.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
We say three hundred million going into Luca's body, but
at the same time, Anthony Davis's body isn't much better.
He's still an athlete, but he breaks down left and
right like a bad car.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
I know. But see, let me just give you this
my knowledgy on that. Yes, as soon as he got
to the Mavericks, he went down. I was disappointment. But
he's got more tread, he has more wear on those tires.
Luca's young in his career and missing tons of games.
That's frightening. Early on, Davis was able to play, but
as the years wear on, Anthony, that sport is unforgiving

(08:03):
your knees and hips and the ankles. Guys, it's a
lot of pounding. All ex players know. So that's why
I'm only giving Luca a little now, I mean Anthony
a little break. I do want to see Anthony get
healthy and play this year. I think the Mavericks this year,
they've got Cooper flag. If they can get your boy
Kyrie back, if Anthony stays healthy. With the casting characters

(08:26):
that they have, I think Dallas is going to be
really good. I really do. But I'm only giving Anthony
a break. Anthony. It is because he's played a long time.
Luca's breaking down. I haven't been in the league long enough.
Just all theirs to it. He had to get serious
with his body. That's all.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
You have a solid point right there. I'll give it
to you on this one.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Okay. I appreciate it. I appreciate it. I appreciate it,
but no, Anthony has to stay healthy. I was disappointed
when he went down with that stomach pull. I'm like,
get out of here. Last year, like stop tired of
hearing stomach pools in the NBA. That's just another way
not to play all the games. That's all, go ahead.

(09:11):
I know, Anthony, I was a bench warmer, but I
played in every game I put a jersey on in
the NBA, and that was every game, Anthony. There was
not a game that I missed in the NBA. Like
Rodney McRae played every game, Anthony, I played every game
I dressed out in the league. That's all. Now. I

(09:31):
wasn't playing a minute minutes Luka Donca was playing or
Anthony Davis. I don't want people to get it twisted.
But the bottom line is the coach still thought enough
of me, Anthony to say I'm putting you in the game,
and I had to be ready and available. The best
skill in the NBA, Anthony is availability. Don't ever forget
that that's the best skill available to play. So I'm

(09:55):
proud of Luca. I am, and I was really happy
to see his body. What else do you have?

Speaker 2 (10:00):
We got a lot, obviously, I know the big news
that a lot of people if he had any if
he had any news going on, or even the ESPN
at every one sol the shooting that happened outside the
housing league's headquarter in New York of the NFL, that
was the big news that was going on yesterday. I
kept getting notifications of it on my phone. So the
National Football League employee was seriously injured in the shooting
Monday at Midtown Manhattan building that houses the NFL offices

(10:24):
in some of the country's top financial firms. Firms Commissioner
Roger Goodell said in a memo to employees, four people,
including off due to New York City Police officer, were
killed and another person was critically wounded in the shooting
at three four five Park Avenue, and authority said one
of the employees was seriously injured in this attack. He
is currently in the hospital and is in stable condition.
Dale wrote the memo, which is obtained by ESPN NFL

(10:46):
staff at the hospital, and we are supporting his family,
but we believe that all of our employees are otherwise
safe and accounted for, and that the building has nearly
been cleared. Thedale said the memo that when he would
wrote increase security presence at the league's offices in the
days and weeks to come. He said employees based in
New York should work remotely on Tuesday or could take
the day off obviously. Well, we don't know the motive

(11:09):
behind this. We don't know, you know, what was the
real cause of this incident other than you know, I
just think this and this another another lost soul out there,
just kind of just doing random things and it and
it sucks to see it because it harms others and
puts others in harm's way. That you know, you know,
it's just bad place.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
They said again that the gentleman I'm not saying his name.
I'm not I know his name. You all do, allo.
It was all over the news last night. But he
had a mental illness anything. We hear this quite a bit.
He had a mental illness, and he had a concealed
carry license. He walked down Midtown Manhattan. Everyone's been to

(11:53):
New York. Everyone just think about walking down midtime Manhattan
at four forty five in the afternoon with an M
four a rifle in your right hand. I mean, guys. So, yes,
we're pulling for the person that was shot that works
for the NFL, and he's in stable condition, and all
we can do is pray, Anthony, it's just another I

(12:15):
don't know, Anthony. I have no answer for this, and
we're not going to get an answer for this from
our leaders and politicians. We're not, so I don't know
what to say anymore. Beating a dead horse Anthony, that's
all there is to it. And I don't know, I

(12:36):
don't know how many souls we're gonna have to lose
Anthony and before America makes a decision on the gun violence.
So anyway, continue, let's keep moving. I mean, for loss,
that's really great.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
We'll try to get better and make him prove is
that's all he can do at this point, you know,
can't can't change its change.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
The future, Yep, exactly. Pray that's all we can do
right now. Our politicians are gonna do anything else, so
I guess we all we can do is pray. Oh
yes it is change our politicians. But I'm not gonna
go there. Please pull the d N the RS off
your chest with the proud badge of honor that you have,
start looking at things correctly, just knowing that they're taking

(13:23):
our money, our tax money. That's all they're doing, is
taking our tax money, getting filthy rich it's and insinuating
things to upset us about each other. But you know what,
I'm not gonna win that war, even though everyone knows
it's the truth, and you're too young to know what
I'm telling you. You do know, you're not too young.
All you have to say is term limits for House

(13:45):
of Representatives, Congress, senators. We're in great shape. It will
never happen. They're thieves. It will never happen. The easiest
thing in the world. Term limits, eight year term limits period.
It will never happen. They're robbing us, blind and smiling
at us. I'm just being honest. But anyway, there could

(14:07):
be change, very simple change. Let me explain something to people, Anthony,
why it doesn't happen. Because when you're the people that
are in power want to keep it and the people
that are out of power want to get it. So
it's a flip flop. Now Republicans in power, they're happy,
Democrats will get back in power, they'll be happy, and
then the Republicans will be upset. So everybody is lobbying

(14:28):
and paying to stay because Anthony, the longer they stay,
the more lobbyists we have, the more control companies have,
they will be able to buy our representatives, which they do.
They are filthy, all of them. And we stay the
suckers in the game. We're the ponds on the chess board.

(14:48):
I'm telling you, the ponds, and it seems like we
love it. I mean, we relish being the ponds on
the chess board when it wasn't written to be that way, period,
point blank. Anyway, no more history lessons, and we're already
seven to twenty. We're gonna get to break. Yes, guys,
I'm hoping that Randy Widdell will call in for us tomorrow.

(15:11):
What an inspirational story he has, and I will hope
to talk to you all after the break. This is
Evesworts Radio, oh numbers five zero two, five seventy nine hundred,
and I'm gonna let you finish the national news after
the break. Welcome back to Eves Sports Radio. July twenty ninth,
twenty twenty five. Yes, it's seven twenty four. Time to

(15:31):
get moving if you have to be, it's down to scurry.
Of course, seven forty five. We'll have Dave Hubert. Of course,
we've got the street rides. We'll be in town. Guys. Girls,
you'll be able to see them. They're fantastic. You'll see
the car start to roll in. Just make sure you
don't have a wreck because you're watching some of the
nineteen forties and fifties and sixties cars rolling down the expressway.

(15:54):
That's all. It's going to be a great weekend. It's
going to be wonderful weather, and I can't wait to
see some of these cars this afternoon at Mike Lenning's.
So Anthony throwing it back to you. Let's hit this
National News. What else before we get into the meat
matatas SEC football versus a CC football.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
Mm hmm you said SEC versus ACC football.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Yeah, that's what we're gonna get into before Dave Hubert
calls in. Yes, the next segment.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Oh okay, that's a good that's a good topic.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
I'm taking a football. I'm taking ACC football.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Oh god, good luck, good luck, good luck on that season.
You're taking a CC football over secs. I would never
do that, and I wouldn't do that to save my life.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Exactly. I'm not gonna happen. I'm playing. Everyone knows that.
But anyway, go ahead, finish the National News, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Of course.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
And then.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
On the National News is we did want to talk
about the John Sanders of his battle but he did
beat bladder cancer, which is a good sign. He talked
about it as apork. Yesterday in the afternoon, the University
of Colorado coach Dioonn Sanders announce money that he underwent
surgery to move remove his bladder after the doctor discovered
a tumor there. SAMs said that since the surgery there
there had been no traces of cancer and that he

(17:12):
will continue to coach this season. And the crazy thing
is he didn't even know it, they said, even through
the entire infl draft from Bond Shallow Shador, Sanders and
Travis Hunter never even knew about the issue going on.
He didn't know himself either until he went and got
checked for an exam. And he kept on saying the interview,
saying that men just go make sure you get yourself
checked out and that you stay healthy. And most people

(17:34):
will ignore the doctor and try to avoid the doctor
because you know it's not always the funnest place to go.
But as you get older in your years, and even
at younger ages, things can come up and appear randomly.
No matter if you think you're in the best shape
of your life, or even if you feel like you're
healthy and you're active every day, it does not matter
when it comes to certain things like that, they just
pop up. They really do.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
I'm gonna tell you this. I've got my annual physical
next month. Doctor Wheeler Brandon Jay Town. I mean, he's particular,
he's the best. I tell everyone you can't take him
from me. But you need to find a doctor that
you trust, that you know it's going to look at
all the details for you. Your health is your wealth.

(18:14):
Make sure that you take the time out to take
care of your health. That's all that I can tell people.
And make sure you find a doctor that you can trust, period,
point blank. That's the key. So yes, So I'm happy
for Dion. I know they're going to open up. They
play Georgia Tech anything I think August twenty nine on ESPN.
So we'll watch that game that your door. We'll see

(18:36):
what Colorado looks like without great players and great talent.
Will have to see what they've replenished, and we'll see
how well Dion can do this year. I'm looking forward
to watching his team play so and that'll be a
good game for Georgia Tech. The ACC needs to beat
the Big twelve. They do. We need Georgia Tech, which
I think will win that game. Georgia Tech played Georgia

(18:56):
really well last year, Anthony, at the end of the season,
I think argitaction win that game, So I'm picking Georgia Tech. Well,
we'll be watching. We'll be watching. And everyone already knows
that Beyon had two toes removed because of surgery surgical
problem he had, I mean, Deyon's and on through it
the last few years with these surgeries and getting old
is not for sissy's. I'll tell you that I got

(19:18):
really good friends of mine that are battling back issues
and all kinds of things. Larry, your uncle went through
back issues. I got a real good friend of mine
going through a back issue right now, MRI. I mean, guys,
you know your health is your wealth. Trying to take
care of what else? Yeah, man, before we get the
break we had two minutes.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
You know, that was the main information that we were
really getting in there with a couple of those things. Obviously,
another thing that is random Kyrie's Halliburton did proposed to
his girlfriend last night, so we got another paper getting
ring up there.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
You goast all over social media and.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Congratulations, But I'll be like, I did give him a
hard time, you know, I did the only reason why
I did is just because of the inconsistencies I saw
sometimes That was the only thing for me.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
It wasn't the skill set. I liked how he played.
The reason why I say that because he plays more
like me. He likes moving the ball, getting his teammates involved.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
It makes it.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Easier on himself to score in a lot of games
because he's not the main focus of attention all the time.
Because he can play.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Without the ball.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
He doesn't need the ball all the time. But sometimes
it was too passive aggressive, and I felt like I
was the exact same way sometimes to where I feel
like he should have had the ball more and been
a little bit more aggressive. In the games that he did,
he produced and he showed up that he could be
more than just an all start. He could be a
superstar and carry his team to where they need to go.
And I think that he approves from there coming off
his injury. It won't be this season. It will be

(20:47):
next year when I see him bad.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
But he's but he's still young.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
I think we'll bass back and recover the way he plays.
I hate to say it, I don't think that Keelees
even mess with his play style because he's not a
great super above the rim player anyways.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Absolutely, Anthony, No, it will not. He'll come back on
to his sin. He plays below the rim, he says
subreverl he does things the correct way, and Anthony, I
just hated to see him go down because when he
was playing at the level that he was playing, the
Pacers were a completely different team. I would have loved
to seen that game with him playing the entire game,
and it always so funny. You could tell if he

(21:24):
was on, he'd be on right away, and he was
on right away. Anthony, I wanted to watch that game,
but we'll have to wait and see that matchup could
happened two years from now. Shay gooodis Alexander is ready
to go, and we'll have to wait for next year.
But as he's ringed up. He didn't get the NBA
Championship ring, but he got a more important ring. So congratulations,
seriously doing we're gonna get to break at seven point

(21:45):
thirty when we come back. I'm glad you touched Dion
because yes, he's going through quite a bit here his family.
We're gonna talk a little football Anthony and the University
of Louisville schedule. We've gone through Kentucky's. But I just
want to explain to people Louisville scheduled this year so
that they can make their own decisions on how University
of Louisville would do and how it will fare in

(22:05):
the college football playoffs. After the break, welcome back to
Sports Radio seven thirty four. Yes, it is Tuesday, the
twenty ninth of July. Anthony, we have got quite a
bit going on front page of the sports section. I
CPK coach kelse my Man. But we're not gonna go there, Anthony.
We're not gonna go there today. We'll go there tomorrow.

(22:27):
We've got to talk some football. We're gone through University
of Kentucky. We went through this schedule, Georgia and myself,
who was gonna win. Shannon also gave what he thought.
We see six wins for Kentucky, heart fault year. Of course,
the conferences semi pro. That's all there is to it.
The SEC is standing below the NFL, and that's all

(22:48):
there is to it. Now. The Big Ten has won
the last two championships Anthey, Ohio State, Michigan. We understand that.
But other than that, the SEC rules the roost. So
when you're looking at the ACC and they're coming out
of their media conference and they have their predictions of
the order of finish and you start to look at

(23:10):
Louisville's schedule, I just want to go through this with
people and tell people why it's important that Louisville almost
has to run the table. Guys, they really do because
of the league's strength last year. First team this year
is Clemson. They say they're going to bounce back. Clemson
is a perennial power, Anthony, Clemson has won national championships.

(23:31):
When Clemson's good, they're as good as anybody. They're as
good as Alabama, Georgia. They could have played in the
SEC and they would have defeated the SEC teams. They
were that good. Jamis, they were very, very very good. Okay,
So Deshaun Watson, we understand that. We understand when Florida
State was good with Jameis Winston. We understand University of
louis with Lamar Jackson, my guy. But we have two champions,

(23:55):
Florida State and Clemson. Clemson's won Miami is two. It's
still a wait and see for me in Miami and
crystal Ball. I just you never know what's going to
happen with that program. They have talent. You don't know
if the coach is going to let them down. You
don't know if the undisciplined football players are going to
let them down. We'll have to wait and see if

(24:16):
they can put the whole thing together. But they are
a talented group, SMU. We talked about Rett lastly, the
head coach last week Anthony, when he was speaking about
the SEC was top heavy. He thought the ACC was
a better conference, which I mean, I understand what he
was doing. We were just trying to shock in all
it is not it's comical right now. But their third

(24:39):
had a great run last year. They were able to
defeat University of Louisville lost to Clemson in the championship game.
But fourth is louis Wear Anthony, Louisville is fourth, and
the prediction and the ACC this year, do you think
that's a fair assessment. They're in front of Georgia Tech
that did play Georgia Anthony last year. Really well, Now,

(25:01):
we both have admitted that Georgia had quarterback issues last year.
They did, and they weren't the same offensive as they
have been in years before. Carson Beck did not play
to his ability. He's now in Miami, so there was
an issue. So those are the top five in the ACC.
Do you like those five?

Speaker 2 (25:24):
I have to, I mean I have to say that
for now. I know we're going off of last season
half the quarterbacks. That's a weird one. I'm not super
sold on a SEC quarterbacks obviously. The US though quarterback
I haven't seen yet. Carson Back I've seen. We saw
him play at Georgia. He's kind of made a statement
name for himself. Do I think he's the best car quarterback? No,

(25:44):
but in the ACC is one of the better ones.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Yes he is.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
You don't go to Georgian and start multiple seasons with
the phenomenal record and just say you're.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
A bad quarterback. So no, you just yes, he did,
But he's a quality quarterback. He just had a down Anthony.
It happens. He did have a down year last year.
But no, he is a national champion. He's really good. Well.
The year before they got robbed, Anthony, he lost to
Alabama and weren't able to go to the Constantball playoffs,

(26:14):
which was Anthony, some of the craziest things I've ever seen.
So I'm not going to just whitewash him correct all
the way. I think he's a quality quarterback and I
think he will help Miami if the discipline of the
hopefully the discipline he brings from Kirby Smart's program to
Miami will help that program. Now you blew over Miller

(26:34):
Moss really quickly. Miller Mass Anthony. I saw him play
well against the University of Louisville two years ago in
a bowl game. I saw him lose his job last year.
I'm just not sure what we're gonna get with him yet.
I have to wait and see. It's a wait and
see for me and Miller Moss at Louisville. But I'm
hoping that he's the Miller Moss that played in the
bowl game against US two years ago, played really well, Anthony.

(26:57):
So we'll have to wait and see USC transfer for
any boy coming across the country, I just have to
I'm waiting to see how this works out. I think
Tyler shuck a lot of people. He was so good
for Louisville last year, and I didn't expect that. Not
everyone thinks that you can just go get a quarterback
and he'll be able to step in. I just don't
know if that's true, so we're gonna have to wait

(27:18):
and see. On Miller Moss, No, that's a box of chocolates.
Also box of chocolates.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Well, go ahead, there is there's other quarterbacks I do like.
I do like the transfer for Duke, the Tulane quarterback.
He's a top fifteenth quarterback. He was the top fifteen
quarterback in the transfer portals, so I do like him
at Dukes. Haines King showed glimpses of being a good
quarterback last year for Georgia Tech as well. Obviously we
saw in that Georgia game he played phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
Until the last possession.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
But Haines King had a solid season last year. I
liked that as well. Obviously you got kid club Nick
out at Clemson as well, which I think is probably
the best quarterback in the ACC right now.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
I think I think he.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Has more upside than Carson Beck does. I think Carson
back kind of hit his peak already, kind of stride
at Georgia Miami. I think cope perform now have a
bounce back season because the ACC is not as strong.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that now before people
go like, oh, we came out and threw for thirty
touchdowns and two iNTS. And he's playing against Boston College.
I'm just I'm just being completely honest. This is not

(28:15):
the same the bad teams in the SEC, even like
the Mississippi States or even some other teams like Missouri
was good but kind of started going on a little
downhill slope. But they have quality players on their rosters.
Even for the bad teams. The bad teams in the
ACC are horrible. I'm gonna be completely on Boston College is.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
A horrible football team.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Syracuse is a horrible football team.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
They're not even at the bottom. They're not even at
the bottom.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
They're not.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
They just joined.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
I barely even consider them in the AEC. Nobody cares
about Stanford football. No, Like if you blas like, oh,
who they played this week California, nobody's gonna go that
game is gonna be so empty. Ticks would be five dollars.
And that's the reason why we talked about and that
TV deal we talked about the top ACC getting that
top high money revenue. Louisville has to be absolutely phenomenal

(29:10):
to even have a chance. And it has nothing to
do with the team. It just happens to do with
what they're playing. It's just they're not big market games.
If you look at their schedule, even the home games.
The only good home game we have is Clemson, and
I think that's the third to last week of the season.
It's like November fourteenth. Other than that, the games are horrible.
They played Virginia at home, Miami's on the road, so

(29:31):
Miami will get a big viewership for that game. But
then you got you know, you got Boston College, California.
Teams aren't teams aren't good.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah, you gave them to him. Random. Louisville is definitely
five and oh. They're five and oh today Eastern Kentucky,
James Madison, Bowling Green, Pittsburgh, and Virginia they're five and oh,
period point blank. Before Louisville fans start jumping up and
down and we are beating our chest, just understand, you're
scheduling just like I you last year. You're five and zero.

(30:06):
Your first game is Miami. That is the first true
game of the season is Miami. Then we've got Boston
College again, another win, Virginia Tech another win, California another win.
Then you played Clemson SMU and then You've got Kentucky
the last game of the season, so Louisville's second half

(30:26):
of the season, there's some challenges, Anthony. There's some games.
The Kentucky game, of course, though Kentucky will want to
be competitive SMU, I have Louisville winning that game. So
I have Louisble beating Kentucky. SMU at SMU very tough.
And you didn't mention Kevin Jennings or maybe you did.
The quarterback at SMU. He's really good, Anthony. He's the

(30:47):
third ranked quarterback in the a SEC right now. He's good.
He's right behind Keane and Club. So he's really good.
So the beginning of the season, Louis's going to be
rolling great. We'll go to break. We've got Dave, but
we'll go to break, Dave. I'll bring you on in
about five minutes. So Louisville's schedule for them to be
a top fifteen program, Anthony, they're going to be a

(31:09):
top fifteen program. If they defeat Miami, they'll be a
top twelve program after six games. I'm not saying because
there are a great team, guys. I'm just telling you
because their schedule is indusive of that. After that, you've
got Clemson SMU in Kentucky. The last three games of
the season will be a challenging stretch for the University

(31:32):
of Louisville. But up to that point, guys, if Louisville
defeats Miami, they'll be in the top ten. I'm not
saying that there are top ten. I'm just saying because
of their schedule, they will be a top ten team. Now,
could someone upset them? I mean, Miami will be favored
to beat them at this time, but Anthony, other than that,

(31:55):
other than Clemson SMU in Kentucky, I don't even see
an upset on the schedule. I don't. So again, Louis's
got a chance to put himself in the conversation for
this college football playoffs this year. They do. Now, we
don't have the time and we're gonna go to break.
But we were going to compare that to Kentucky. When

(32:16):
in that sec when you got Texas, Georgia, LSU, Alabama,
South Carolina has surprised me. They've jumped the fifth but
done a great job there and they've defeated Kentucky the
last two years. Ole mess Texas A and m Oklahoma Florida,
Tennessee is tenth, Anthony, Tennessee was then the college football
playoffs last year they're ten, auburns eleven. I mean, what

(32:38):
a slate for Kentucky football. So we'll have to wait
and see it. Let's get the break where at seven
forty five we do have street ride nationals. We're gonna
speak with Dave Hubert after the break. This is E
Sports Radio on numbers five zero, two, five, nine hundred.
We'll talk to you in a minute. Welcome back to
the sports Radio seven forty seven. Should be moving for

(33:01):
that eight o'clock time. You should be moving. Make sure
that you're safe, Anthony, We've got my man, Anthony, mister Huber,
as you were, Welcome back to the show. I told
you I was going to have you back on. I
couldn't let you get away. Today is the show day, correct?
Today is the day. Oh he's coming about great, that's fine.

(33:22):
So Dave will be calling back yet, Dave, welcome back.
How are you? Are you back Glennings yet? You haven't
gone to Mike Glennings yet, have you.

Speaker 3 (33:32):

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Okay, okay, one o'clock gotcha. I'll try to meet you
at one o'clock. What type of judges?

Speaker 3 (33:41):

Speaker 1 (33:42):
Okay, let's let's everybody know again you're doing a fundraiser.
And what are we fundraising for? We say, some children?
What are we raising for? Again?

Speaker 3 (33:52):
This is from the w h a s crusade for children.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
Okay, gotcha, Okay, we'll be doing.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
All the money. Any money we raise boots around in.

will be out there. I'm gonna get out there with
you around one o'clock. Now, I want you to You'll
have cars from nineteen twenty to all the way up
to my twenty twelve shall be Cobra. Correct, You'll have
all kind of guys out yesterday.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
Anybody's anybody can come today, open to everybody. The street
Ride Nationals is pre twenty well nineteen ninety five and
older nineteen ninety five and older for the street Ride Nationals.
But today at Mike Lennings, everybody's welcome.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Everybody's welcome, them, and we want your donations. Now let's
get to the judging. There's gonna be a black twenty
twelve shabby Cobra there that has to win. What do
I have to do with hub to make sure I
get one of those trophies? I want to be in
the calendar? I need a calendars by from February my birthday.
How do I what do I have to do? Who

(35:11):
do I have to pay? Well? Who do I have
to bribe?

Speaker 3 (35:14):
Well, well, we can. We can try to brab Mike Cummings.
I know you know him, okay, and uh he's one
he's one of the judges. And uh, you know, you
never know. And somebody on the straight line, if you
know any Oklahota members, you might try to bribe one

(35:35):
of them. Beta. We'll see what we can do.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
Okay, I'll do whatever I have to names Hubert. So
here's the Guman's Huber. I was telling my producer Shannon,
I want people to understand, please come out today. You
will see cars, honestly with fifty thousand dollars paint jobs.
I want people to come and see some of the
expertise that's put into these cars. Always tell people about

(36:00):
ride by Rights. That's my guy. You all know Mark right,
that's my guy. He did my cars, he does my
touch up. Anything I need paint wise is going to
ride by Rights. But there's so many phenomenal paint jobs
out there. And engines. The one gentleman that's completely redone
is engine. You've got two hundred thousand dollars engines. In

(36:21):
your opinion, what do you think is the most money
someone has put in a car that's been at your
events out at Mike Glennings. How much money have they
put in these cars?

Speaker 3 (36:33):
Well, I don't know what the most money somebody's done
down there before. But there's a guy with her thirty
four Buick Sedan that Mark Light helped build. And I
bet I bet there's one hundred and fifty thousand or
more in that car at least. Okay, Yes, that is

(36:54):
a beautiful Yes, beautiful.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Oh my gosh, it's so nice. Yeah. People must know
Michae Lenning's everyone knows. And I can't believe that that's
the funny thing he drives. That talk a rock ship
will kill me, boy if my card lifts my mind.
But I just want people to understand. You're gonna see
from vents too Mustangs. To which car are you going

(37:20):
to have out there, Miss Huber? Which one are you
bringing out of yours?

Speaker 3 (37:24):
I'm driving my thirty two Forward today. That'll make you happy, Okay,
thirty Forward? Okay, absolutely, you know the deal.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Yes, everyone knows Ford. I'm a Ford man, even though
I do have a Dodge TRX now. And I'm telling
you that thing is a beast. That seven hundred horsepower
truck is a monster. It is a monster. But I'm
still a Ford guy. But I do have a t RX.

(37:54):
Other than we all know that I got it in
town and country forward. I tell people I didn't get
it into Common. Well, I was gonna give away all
the Dodgers at my car over there for service. I
told people, come over, I'm gonna sell all Billy Hayes's
cars for cheap. I was there early. I said, I
got the keys, Come on in. We'll make a deal.
But yes, I can't wait. I'll be looking forward to
seeing yours. How many cars do you think we'll have

(38:15):
out there this afternoon, mister, Well, I mean.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
It's it's gonna be a hot day, but we usually
get four to five hundred cars on Tuesdays. Before the nationals.
About twenty different states will be have cars there, people
traveling around the country. But uh, plenty of shade out there,
plenty of air conditioned building, so everything will be fighting.
So just come down and cool off with us.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
Okay, absolutely, Well, I'm gonna be there, Missuber. I'm looking
forward to seeing you. I'm gonna bring some people with me,
and I can't wait just to see the array of cars.
If my boy Donny Brown at gonna be there, is Donnie.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
Duckett be sick, then he'll be there, he'll be there
and the number one spot. Okay, he'll he'll potty be
at one o'clock when you get there because I told
him to get there early so he could see you.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Okay, absolutely, we'll be there together, man, ain't he He
is the man, the man.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
He'll have his Camaro there. Okay, he will have.

Speaker 1 (39:18):
His Camaro there, no question, that's what you're saying. Yeah,
I can't wait to see you. Anyone that has an opportunity,
even if you don't have a car, come out see
the cars. Make a donation, Guys, make a donation. If
you can make a donation, great calls. And I can't
wait to see you all out there because Easworts Radio.

(39:38):
Mister youbro, I'll talk to you this afternoon.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
Okay, but see you later. Bye bye bye bye, see
you later, bye bye.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
So Anthony, I can't wait. I've got to get the Simmons.
I've got meetings, guys at ten Louisville fans. I'm meeting
with Jason Osbourne at ten forty five. I think he's
going to be one of Dwan Weeds coaches. So I'm
gonna meet with him in and go through that and
we'll go from there.

Speaker 5 (40:05):
Shannel, can you Shannon? Yeah, Shannel, Ye, Shannet, Shannon, can you?
I think we've lost Shannon for a second.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
He may have had to go somewhere.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Mister Huber, could you please hang up?

Speaker 3 (40:19):
Please? Okay, I'm gone, I'm gone.

Speaker 1 (40:23):
Yep, see ye it was Hubert. Yeah yeah. So, guys,
I hope tomorrow that I can get Randy Waydell to
call into the show. I want you to understand what
a great story. Most people are like, who's Randy Wydell.

(40:45):
You must hear his story, That's all that I'm telling you.
And he has got some great stories. Went to the
University of Alabama, played at Pleasure Ridge Park. Guys. He
was part of why p RP travels so well, Pleasure
Rich Park travels. That community backs their team just like
Ballard backs Valid Nation. And he was part of the

(41:07):
upbringing of Pleasure Ridge Park. And I'm gonna tell you
all one thing in athletics. That's a great thing about athletics.
That's why I was a little upset and still am
about the Venezuelan team. Athletics breaks down barriers, guys, That's
what athletics does. That's why I'm a little upset that,
you know, President Trump did not let the Venezuelan team play. Guys.

(41:28):
I'm gonna tell you all this in all love. Randy
Wydell was a bad white boy. I mean when Darryl
Griffiths says on Scottie Davenport Show, Scotty said, just name
a player that people wouldn't know that you played against
that could really go. And Darryl Griffith says, Randy Whydell.
I'm just telling you all, guys, this man was a

(41:49):
scoring machine. Had sixty against Butler High School. My brother Carries,
who was a real deal, said Randy Waddell was something
they used to pay to go watch this man play.
It's Eesworts Radio. Talk to you all tomorrow. I'm hoping
that I can convince Randy to come on with me.
Just a fantastic story, great job saying, a great job,

(42:10):
Anthony not willing. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Bye bye,
