Speaker 1 (00:03):
You have to love the last. Welcome back, Wednesday, August
the sixth. It's unbelievable how fast it goes. Twenty twenty five.
Of course it's Wednesday. At someday it is beautiful outside,
truly a magnificent day. So welcome back to EVE Sports Radio.
Phone numbers five zero two, five seven one seventy nine hundred.

(00:24):
That's five zero two, five seven one seventy nine hundred.
This is Sports Talk seven ninety KRD. We've got Shannon,
the best in the business behind the glass. Shannon, Bring
on my younger son. We got Anthony. Anthony, Welcome to
EVE Sports Radio. How are you.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
I'm doing great this morning, you know, taking care of
all the necessities, making sure the dogs are fed, taken outside,
and then I gotta come on here. And you know,
I don't say carry the show, but I guess I'll say.
George Williams, I was. I was a robbin at first.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
But you know, oh my god, you bat man.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
We've even looking at expansion at this point since I
joined the show. I don't know if that's just a
coincidence that.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Is well, however you want to look at it, but
that is true. We are looking at Indianapolis market. We are.
That is a true statement. So and I've got, you
know what, Anthony, I'm gonna have to get out, and
I'm gonna have to solicit. I don't solicit advertising it,
I really don't. I mean, I've got, honestly, my friends
advertised with the show, even my cat fans man John John.

(01:32):
I'm getting out to the shop this week. I told
you that so that I can pick up my flooring.
But everyone that advertises with the Esports Radio, Anthony honestly
are my friends. I sincerely can tell people go to
the Orioles and River Road Barbecue and Republic Banking Bluegrass
and yes, if people don't know, I think this is
a good time Anthony Bluegrass Audi. Of course, Motorsport has

(01:57):
been sold and the sell will be final, I want
to say probably in a week or so and I
will officially announce it. I will officially announce the new
ownership group. I will speak with the new ownership group.
I have not yet about continuing the sponsorship package with
the Sports Radio and a few other ideas, but I

(02:19):
just want to again to thank cowning Country with Bill Hayes,
who will step into be my primary car dealer. He
will tell you I have four commercials. He'll be a
major sponsor on Esports Radio and Billy, I appreciate you
all for that. First and foremost, guys, I've had every
car in the world. I love cars. I used cars

(02:42):
because Mike Vine's dad taught me that a long time
ago at Bluegrass, Linko and Mercury when I used to
sell cars. Who wanted a car dealership. But I've got
this TRX truck guys, and I'm telling you all, it
is fantastic, period point blank that I got from Billie
Hayes Commonwealth Dodge, and without a doubt, but Commonwealth Dodge

(03:04):
will be stepping in. But I'm going to try to
I've got other ideas for Bluegrass OUTI that I'm going
to present, so I just wanted to kind of throw
that out. But I am looking to go to the
Indianapolis market, and I'm going to have to start soliciting
more national kind of franchises, Anthony, because I am my
own show. They do not sponsor me. I pay ads,

(03:27):
people pay me. I pay iHeart for my show. So
I'm going to get out there. But yes, we are
really close to the same time in Indianapolis. We just
have to work out the details and I've got to
work out some financing, so I will be coming out
trying to do that. But expanding to the Indianapolis market
should be important to some companies. So anyway, as for that,

(03:49):
and you did it all, Anthony, thank you. I got
no problem with it. Brother, carry me. I've had great
teammates my whole life, Anthony. I'm telling you Ballid High School,
great tamates, break coaches, University of Louisville, Darryl Griffith, Scooter
mc cray, Riding Craig, the late great Derrick Smith, Willie Brown,
who told me, if I don't get the first shot
of every game, Jerry, there's gonna be trouble. There's gonna

(04:13):
be trouble. That's the truth. I had great teammates. But
you know what, I'll tell you one thing about my teammates,
And nobody was scared of anything. Everybody who was talking
about Anthony winning it. You know, when you throw out
the mar and Josh allen it, he's not frightened either.
But Anthony winning it, home boy, the moment can't be

(04:36):
bigger than you. That's just all there is to it.
And people have to understand that until they sit in
no shoes, Anthony, and that them games on the line.
You know you've hit big free throws, big shots, until
that game's on the line, Anthony, and it means something.
Everybody says they've done it. I love my man, George,
you know about his career, But until you're in that

(04:58):
real moment when Anthony, it does mean something more than
the summer league shot that you shot in the summer
when you hit it on your friend and you got
to talk junk, Anthony. You have to get it done.
Bottom line, you have to get it done. And the
moment was not too large for my teammates, so and
I appreciates carrying me. Now this is what we've got today. Guys,

(05:19):
first and foremost, get some business out of the way.
I've got to think again. Greg Galliad, he's everything. He's
been cook, bottle washer, bathroom cleaner for the Bats guys.
He's a general manager. It's a great guy. We played golf,
we haven't played this year. He's duck in me because
my game has improved, Anthony. But Greg Galliad, there's no

(05:41):
better person other than he went to Eastern and breaks
off of him, Anthony, that's just the truth, you all.
And I'm not bragging. I beat the breaks off of him,
that's all. He has done a fantastic job with the
Louisville Bats. He donated a luxury suite to my golf outing.
He wasn't able to play this year. He's played probably
five or six years in a row, but he was

(06:01):
busy with that new construction. The Bats are really doing things, Anthony.
They're doing things downtown Louisville. I'm really excited for the
things that they're doing. But the family is going today,
so I'm not announcing the family. They've got seventeen or
eighteen people coming. They wanted to fill up the entire box,
but some people from out of town could not make

(06:22):
it in. So I wanted to thank Greg Galliot and
the Louisville Bats. Now here's some news that everyone needs
to know. The game was rained out last night. I
didn't know this Greg Galliad just let me know this
this morning. So there are two games today, two seven
inning games. I think the first one's five to fifteen,
the second seven fifteen. So I'm not sure how the

(06:44):
sweet arrangement will go. I will find that out after
the show and let the family know. I'll reach back
out to Greg Galliot, but I just wanted people to know.
There are two games today and it seems to be
it's going to be a beautiful day. So get out
and support the Bats and it'll be a fantastic time. Now, Anthony,
I haven't said a word. I shouldn't because everybody says

(07:08):
if I do. I've waited as long as I can wait.
To Anthony, I'm sorry, I don't know if anybody's following
manager Francona and the Cincinnati Reds. I don't know if
anybody's following the Reds. Answer. That's all I'm saying. But
all I'm gonna say is this which I said to
Coach Beard, and he was gave me a few choice words.

(07:30):
If you all don't know it. The Reds are sixty
and fifty four, third place in the Central nine and
a half out from the Milwaukee Brewers, who are playing great.
You know at the record of the year, high paid,
high powered Yankees are sixty and fifty four. So guys,

(07:53):
the Reds, yes, it's all boy, are they balloons in trouble?
But again, until I started this show, and I never
followed baseball, but I do now. And as soon as
I say that, here's the Jose they've got. He's on television, Anthony.
Strike zones unfair now too, Vay, his strike zone is
unfair and he's too small. But he just hit home run.

(08:14):
So anyway, brands are doing great bats, get out, support
the bats, great entertainment, great family entertainment. Take your kids out.
There are a lot of things going on that happens there,
so it'll be a fantastic, beautiful day. It's not going
to be too hot, so let's make sure you pack
the place. So Anthony, that's the only thing business I
had today. Where are we right now? Seven point thirteen?

(08:38):
You know I'm going to I don't want you to
start national news and have to stop it in the middle.
So let's see what other things are going on. Quick
tidbits before we get into the meat potatos, which is
I didn't get into the college football rankings. We're going
to do that today, Anthony. We're really going to talk
about that aspect of it. And like I said to you,

(08:59):
I want to want to know high school starts back
public schools tomorrow and there'll be more traffic. You're gonna
have to get up earlier. You're gonna have to leave earlier.
Be safe. Kids are out there now, kids are out
there getting on buses. And I hate when I see
cars driving by the school bus sign when it's out

(09:19):
because you're in a hurry. Don't do that. It just
irritates the mess out of me. Make sure you understand now,
we have to schedule accordingly. That's all. We are adults.
We have to schedule accordingly. Get your butts up earlier,
go to bed earlier. So we've got school starting tomorrow,
and I'm gonna have you talking about that book bag
drive and some of the things that have transpired at

(09:40):
the Dirt Bowl to help kids get ready for school
after the break, So shednon, we're already at seven to sixteen.
We're gonna stay on task. This is Eve Sports Radio.
Get out to the bats game tonight. Two seven inning
games again, two seven inning games. This is Eve Sports Radio.
Phone numbers five zero two, nine hundred. We'll be back

(10:02):
with the national news and Anthony after the break. Welcome
back to the sports Radio. Of course, it's Wednesday, hump Day,
the sixth of August one numbers five zero two, five
seventy nine hundred I've got younger Anthony on the line
and Anthony before I throw it to you court physical therapy.
Of course, that's where I went for my knee. All
of my rehabs I go to court. They're now going

(10:23):
to be sponsoring Simmons College. They've got my basketball teams
and my track program. So I'm so happy to announce that.
Like I told people, most of my sponsors, guys, I've
had eleven years just being straight with you, and everyone
that has a commercial on my show I back one
hundred percent. I use them. I always have and always will.

(10:45):
So I'm going to have to go out and start
to solicit others. I'm going to call my sponsors and
ask them first if they have any friends that they
can verify, because I just don't bring anybody to my show.
I don't run out looking for money. I don't, guys.
I don't that just I can make a lot more money.
I just don't. I'd rather have content time than advertising time,

(11:07):
and I try to be selective. But to go to Indy,
I'm going to have to bring in a little bit
more money because I have to pay for that programming,
and I do want to get into the Indianapolis Market.
So I will be calling my sponsors to get a
few names, and again I will in a few days
announce the new owner at Bluegrass. But I just want
to think Bluegrass OUTI again, just like everyone else. When

(11:30):
I started my show, all I did was, Mike, were
you sponsor me? Yes? Victoria, will you sponsor me? I
never had a show before in my life? Yes, Republic Bank,
will you sponsor me? I've never had a show in
my life, Guys, people said yes. So when you have
relationships like that, that's the key. And I've created some
new ones along the way. Like I told you John

(11:53):
at Carney's Galleries, Guys, when he came in and he
made my family feel so comfortable, his workers came in
and made everybody feels so good when they left, they
were like friends. I mean the bottom line, period, point blank.
And that's just the key. Same thing Bill Billy Hayes,
I mean, he helped Anthony out. He's I bought cars

(12:13):
from his dad was at every Louisville game. I knew
his dad. I didn't know Billy, but I knew his dad.
I mean he was at every Louisville game, Guys, every
University of Louisville game. There was Blaed his dad was there.
So that's just kind of the deal. And Court's been
the same way. Court called me up and said, we
want to advertise with you, and they've been with me
now eight years, so they've got my program. So that's

(12:35):
kind of how I do it here. I don't run out.
You don't see my commercials changing. I'm not running out
changing them every thirteen weeks. When I get people, they
stay with me. I stay with them, So I will
be coming out to talk to people. But that's just
kind of how we do it on the Esports radio.
If we can't do it the right way, we won't
do it. So Anthony, let's go to you National News.

(12:56):
What's the deal? What's going on? And I told you, Anthony,
one of the guys on hit list State Farm. Hey,
Loo Max, you're gonna get busted too. You're on the
hit list. Don't think you're off. And he did save
me a ton of money. That's why we have State
Farm commercials now. So again, Anthony, take me away. What
do we have going on? Now?

Speaker 2 (13:19):
We got a lot of stuff going on. Obviously, I
know you want to figure out who won that dirt Ball.
So the team low Key Lifestyle actually won the Dirt Bowl.
They won forty eight forty five. Buns Back was a
team from Newburgh Loberg.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
There you go, there you excellent, excellent. I grew up Anthony.
It was the first. I hate it when we moved
from Newburgh. I was so hurt when my parents moved
to Prospect. I'm like, we're moving where for what? I
was hurt? Anthony. All my friends were there. Godly, I
had a wonderful time in Newburg. What a beautiful community
I'm telling you, and Anthony. Great athletes came out of

(13:53):
that place, I'm telling you. But congratulations for that. In
the dirt Boat? What went on? What else transparred at
the Dirt Boy? We had a lot.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Obviously the lady team won. So from the woman's division
is the blue team that captured their title with a
twenty four to sixteen win. They're led by Chaina Dow
who was from Barrytown. So the ladies on that side, Bluetree,
congratulations to them as well.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Yes, absolutely, last year. My Simmons girls won last year.
This year, but last year they did. They won it
last year. Yep. Kira Gupton hit a big shot at
the end to win the game, and then Kira heard
her shoulder and had the red shirt. I was with
her last year. I love her. She is the best.
Her dad coaches at Seneca. But yes, Kira hit a
big shot in the Dirt Bowl for us to win

(14:37):
it last year. And then last year's season comes up,
Anthony she insers her shoulder, has to have shoulder surgery.
I'm talking about really injured her shoulder. She's coming back
on hundred percent this year. We all met yesterday and
she's one of my team leaders, her and Morgan to
four And it's gonna be a lot of fun. Gonna
be a lot of fun, coach ruffing, it's gonna be
a lot of fun, friend of yours. So I can't wait.

(14:57):
But yes, and I'm telling you we came in runners
up last year. Great year, but if Kurri Gupton plays,
we win that thing. Anthem. I'm telling you we had
three girls last year that went down to injury. So
we're looking to make another good run at it this year.
So continue. I always got to push my falcons. I
can't help it, no, of.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Course, And obviously one of the big things that we've
been talking about for a while that we'll finally get
to see on Friday, is Shador Sanders will make this
preseason start against my Panthers. And you know what, I'm
controversial about it, and I'm not going to eventually obviously
about playing my squad. That's not the controversial part. The
controversial part is they have them listed right now currently
as a four string quarterback. They just signed another quarterback

(15:36):
with Tyler Huntley. They're technically the fifth string even though
two of their quarterbacks are injured. This can go two
or different ways for Shador Sanders, and I hate to
say it because they put him in a situation that
just doesn't set him up for success. If he goes
out here in this preseason game and he plays well,
and he goes into a regular season game and he
doesn't play good, they're gonna say he only plays good

(15:58):
against bad competition. If he's bad in this game, or
if he plays bad in a regular season game, then
they're just gonna be like, he's not a good player.
They're gonna try to cut him. But if he plays
good here in good regular season or bad here good
regular season, it throws up a lot of different flags
for him. That's the only thing. The preseason won't determine them.
The preseason determined how many opportunities will get during the season.

(16:20):
So he has to play well today, but when he
gets his opportunity in the season, because I think he will,
Joe Flock is a good quarterback, but he's forty eight
years old. Dylan Gabriel, I've just never been sold on really,
even since college. I hate to say it. I'm not
trying to kid, I've never been sold on Dylan Gabriel. Obviously,
Tyler Huntley is great. I think Tyler Huntley is Probably
for a long time, he was the best basketup quarterback

(16:41):
in the NFL. I really do. Tyler hunt was probably.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Top three back.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
He went undefeated in the preseason for the Ravens for
four seasons in a row. Yes, good back and and
I hate to say it, that makes it even harder
should or Sanders knowing that he's got Honley behind him,
because Hountley is good. Honley has experience on a good
jeamest They're not sending any of their quarterbacks up for success.

(17:11):
Deshaun Watson, I hate you said. I don't even know
why he's still on the roster. And I'm be completely honest,
they might have just cut him. It's all about fre.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Anthony. Is all about money, Yes, that's all. It's all
about money. That's the only bad the NFL and NBA
and Major League Baseball and it's all about money, Anthony.
Or he would not be if he didn't have guaranteed money,
he would not be. I guarantee you he would not know.
But that's a different that's a whole different show, Anthony.
I'm not going to go there. That's a whole different show.
Here's the deal, though, Annay, let's talk about Sanders great point.

(17:43):
Yes he is starting on Friday, and I'll be watching
that game. I want everyone to understand. This is the
great thing, Anthony about sports. This is why I'll get
Butcher's but up before he goes back out to Phoenix
because they're going to be leaving New York for about
two weeks. We were talking about getting it done, Anthony, Okay,
and there's an opportunity in time. I love the exhibition

(18:07):
for football, not so much basketball because they have so
many spots. You know, They've got seventeen roster spots in
the NBA and they don't have nineteen people in camp,
almost everybody's gonna make it not true. In football, which
we went through yesterday, forty half those guys are gonna
get cut Anthony, that you're watching Friday, half of them

(18:27):
are going to be gone. Okay, Shador has to get
it done. Anthony has to get it done or he
may be waived. And Anthony, that is what pro sports
is all about. I hate it that he was not
drafted in the first round and guaranteed a spot to
where it was cushy cushy, But Anthony I had to
make the team. I understand where he is sitting right now.

(18:51):
I know what he went through and what he's thinking
about for Friday night. Yes, there's a big difference. Shideor
Sanders has a lot more money than Jerry's head in
nineteen eighty two. But it's not about money now. The
kid wants to play. The kid wants. I want people
to understand he has money. Yes, he doesn't have to
sweat what he's going to do when he leaves camp
if they cut him. The number one jerseysseelf for rookies,

(19:12):
he's making millions, but he still wants to be on
the roster. Everybody does, Anthony. I want people to understand
that playing in the NFL is a privilege. He wants
to make that team. He's got pressure, Anthony, and this
is what it's all about. That's why I can't wait
to watch him. I love the exhibition because guys have
to get it done. We were watching you and I

(19:34):
and the punt returner. I have no idea who he was,
but Anthony. He shot on that punt return, fumbled it
ran to the sideline. Anthony, you get seen in his face.
He knows the probability of being on the roster after
that game is slimming none. He's going to get cut.
They have to guys. Sports is brutal, the coaching business

(19:56):
and the playing profession. It's why the salaries are so high.
It is competitive and you must get it done. I
had a bad day. You can't have a bad day.
So everyone always asks me, always as a coach, what
did you hate most? I said, cutting the players? They said,
I undertake you. I said about a minute. They said

(20:17):
about a minute, and I hope people about a minute. Yes.
If it was my position, which were the guards, that
was my job. Paul Silas would do the larger players.
Jerry Eves I did the guards on small forwards. When
we had to let them go. That was my job.
I would tell them what I thought they had to
work on. I thank them for coming in trying. I

(20:40):
tell them to go to the trainer, get your ticket.
We'll send you back wherever you came from or wherever
you want to go. Got me. We did not have
playbooks like football, so no, guys, there were not playbooks.
They had to learn the plays. We did not give
them playbooks. That was part of the process. But Anthony
I cut a lot of great play I mean, this

(21:02):
is what it is. So that's why training camp, Paul Silas,
we would dog the veterans. When I say dog the veterans,
we'd give him a harder time during the season during
practice than we would the rookies because we knew they
were trying to make the team. But we told him
straight up, if you don't get it done, we're gonna
cut you. The pressure was knowing that they had to perform,

(21:24):
not us stand after him. There are times that Baron
Davis and I are good for the money and we
be yelling at each other, no question, Sometimes it got feisty.
It's grown men. But regular season is still different. It's
not about if you're going to make the roster or not.
Shadora Sanders has the pressure. I want to see how
he performs. His dad's not the head coaching, Anthony. His

(21:44):
dad's not in control. I want everybody to understand he
now has to go out there and show his wares. Okay,
he has to perform the lights wrong. He's got the ball,
Go show us what you've got. That's what makes sports sports.
That's why everybody is waiting for the football season to start.
And we're gonna talk about University of Louisville and their

(22:05):
backup quarterback situation, which is boy and miler. Most gets hurt.
Oh god, Anthony, ooh, not good for Louisville. They're gonna
have to keep him up right. So, yes, it's his opportunity.
But don't look at it as a negative, Anthony. This
is what it's all about. He's playing for all the marbles.
He's playing for his roster spot, which is ninety five

(22:28):
percent of the guys that are in training camp, Anthony.
Football does not throw out guaranteed contracts like basketball, So
that's why it's fun to watch. I can't watch those
first three or four possessions that he gets, he may
get the whole first half. Can't wait. I want to
watch been waiting for this. I want to see Shador
Sanders without the comfort and the blanket of his dad,

(22:49):
knowing that I can make a mistake or two. We're
going to see now Shador Sanders pure. Having to get
it done, Anthony, when it means something. So Friday night
against your Panthers, I'm really I don't know what I'm
gonna have to do to get that game. I might
have to buy the NBA NFL package because I want
to see that game. I really do. So we're gonna

(23:10):
get the break, y'all lead seven thirty three. When we
come back, we'll let you finish the national news. Then
we're gonna get into this college football rankings. E Sports Radio.
We'll talk to you all in a minute. Welcome back
to the sports radio guys. It's getting close, seven thirty seven.
You need to be there at EH. You need to
get moving. Welcome back to the show. Of course, Anthony
finished with the national news. I'm sitting here put up

(23:33):
Anthony watching on television right this minute. I'm watching the
Little League Growth series and I'm watching the kids play,
and again I'm still very upset about the Venezuela and
TV guys not being allowed to play was not right,
period point blank. So O there's to it. I want
somebody I want to try to know this, and they're
on ESPN right this minute. They really already brought it

(23:53):
to my attention. August third through August the twelfth in
nineteen thirty six, right now, this time, Anthony Jesse Owens
had worn his first of four gold medals in Berlin.
He was able to participate though. That's all I'm saying, Guys,
I don't care where you stand politically, that was not right,

(24:14):
not allowing those kids to play, period point blank. So
what's up for the national news continue?

Speaker 2 (24:21):
Yeah, obviously a couple of things. Obviously, you know, we
saw the preseason polls for college football were released about
a day ago, and listen, there's some teams in there
that are higher up on that. Listening then, I thought
they would be, I'm gonna be completely honest, and one
of them, I think it's the sleeper team is big
for the A C, C. S. M US News coming
in that same year. We talked about it last year

(24:42):
about him going undefeated one game that's in you could
win the ACC. And I know Clemson's up there at six.
The Clemson's big if factor is if the performance of
Kate Club Nick is up to par. If kay Club
plays like he's supposed to for Clemson, Clemson will win
ACC most likely. And I know the U of L
fans might hate me for it, but he right now,

(25:05):
and what I've seen over the last couple of seasons
is the best quarterback right now on the ACC. Limson
usually has better O line. Defensively, they're a little bit
more stout, but there is always room for them to
be knocked off. You have always makes a push at
the door. They're coming in right outside the votes at
one hundred and twenty six. They're just behind Oklahoma and Missouri.
So they're technically listed at the twenty eight spot right now,

(25:26):
which can easily jump them into the top twenty five
after the first couple of weeks. Obviously, I know that
the off season schedule isn't the strongest.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
We're gonna go back today, yep, So well say that.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
Obviously they got Indiana back in there at the nineteen spot,
which I hate to say it. I don't think Indiana
should be in the top twenty five. I'm just gonna
be completely honest. I know I talked about it last year,
and I feel like I basked Indiana so much. They
have an incredible season, but not for who they played.
I'm gonna be completely honest. For who they played. That's
not a top it's not a top twenty five season.
To beat all team that were barely five hundred and

(26:01):
the two teams that you played that had any chance
making college football playoffs you lose by three touchdowns and more.
That's just not a top that's not a college football playoffs.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
But people understand this, No, no, not agree, but you
can with the conference everyone listening. Your conference schedule is
given to you through a computer. The coaches and the
schools have no determination of that. I just want to
tell people that they do not they get those schedules.
So that's not their fault. What is their fault is

(26:34):
this year old dominion Tennesseall State, Indiana State. That's garbage. Yes,
and he said that he was patting his schedule. Coach Sinetti,
so that part I agree on that. I don't think
that formula will work this year. Last year, everyone a
great year, but everybody is leary of that. Now. I
think the committee will be leary of that also. I

(26:56):
don't think they'll do that. If he's holding the ball
when they're down twenty eight to Ohio State and everyone
knows he's holding the ball just trying not to let
the score get run up, they're not going to be rewarded.
They're not. But your conference schedule, Anthony, there's nothing he
can do about that. They give you that aspect. This year.
They do have organ on the schedule, Anthony, which is

(27:18):
a quality ranked opponent. They've got ten stag there's two
top tens on their schedule right now. So I'm gonna
give him a little break. But they're gonna have to
do something. I'm gonna wait and send those games.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
I I just have to see the performances between those
two games. And I even said it last year. I said,
even if they lose, it's not the end of the world.
I just want to leave and see him lose with
a competitive game. They're losing him blowouts. That's what was
a little bit more disturbing. It wasn't like they're a
touchdown or you know, they're down a touchdown. They scored
at the end, they lost by fourteen. Okay, that's you know,

(27:50):
on paper, it looks a little bit different. They're down
by three or four touchdowns going into the fourth quarter,
and then they're scoring to make it look like they
didn't get blown out. That was kind of like the
like the factor for me. But I'm gonna get passing Dan.
I know I'm going crazy on them. I'm gonna give
them an opportunity to prove as usual. I'm gonna give
every team the opportunity. But there is two teams on
here that I do want to point out that kind

(28:10):
of surprised me how high they are now. Obviously Arizona
State is one. The only reason I say Arizona State
because we know they lost their entire roster. They lost
at though Giants by far their best play. And then
and then Illinois coming in at twelve, I know that's
I didn't see anything in Illinois last year. I didn't
see Illinois. I didn't see anything last year from Illinois

(28:32):
to put them at twelve, to put them over South Carolina, Michigan,
Old miss S, m U, Florida, Tennessee, Texas A and
n B y U. Illinois is not better than Illinois
sports honestly, and fingals for b YU. I think b
YU is gonna be I always throw them in that
mid major category, and I always do that for football.
I'm about to take I'm about to take him out

(28:53):
of that mid major because Boys and State is known
for being a football school.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
College football.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
You know, you know about the iconic blue the blue
turf that they've got that they had for so long,
which everything is cool. I think, yeah, So Boys and
State I got to take out of that mid major
and kind of throw them into a miniature power five.
I don't know who they got in too. Come to
their replacement. Their quarterback actually played well last year. For
people who don't know, he had good to that last year,
JENTI just kind of overshadowed that because he was amazing.

(29:21):
With the conference they play, I can still see them
staying in the top twenty five. That's the reason why
I don't I'm not really say anything about Boise State,
and the schedule is not bad. You know, obviously they
played teams that've had notable players in the past, and
they have Wyoming in their conference. We all know who
produced the great Josh Allens for the Bills. There's there's
tons of tough teams in that Mountain West Conference. I'm

(29:41):
just not sold on some of these on here, and
I hate to say it. Another one that's controversial for
me is Carson back at Miami. I didn't like him
at Georgia's. I just I have to see. And the
only reason why I say I feel like they put
t is because their schedule, because the AEC is not
as tough. He'll go down there and he might dominate
the a SEC. I'm gonna be completely honest. He's gonna
have something. Probably They're they're probably have an ar raid

(30:03):
offense with with a solid running back like Miami always does,
and they're gonna be playing teams like Virginia Tech, Virginia,
Boston College. They're gonna blow him out the water and
they're gonna look good all year. He'll have competition against
U of L, competition against Clemson, Florida State. Honestly, I
think it would be better this year. They finally got
rid of that quarterback that was god awful. I'm sorry.
He was no good. He was horrible. DJ he was terrible.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
Yeah, he's in the pros. He's a backup. He's in
the gonna play this weekend.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Djah thing is I think he was. I think after
those losses earlier on at Florida State, it kind of
shot his confidence all the way into the dirt. I
think he's just.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Completely terrible as no.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
But when your confidence goes astray, your skills look very bad.
And I felt the same way. I've had stretches like
that where my confidence was gone. I couldn't throw a
rock into the ocean. So it happened, but for it
to go on an entire season was what was kind
of caught was kind of catching my eye with a
little uncertainty because the player of that caliber and that level,
you can go through stretches where you're not playing the best,
but it can't be for an entire season. It can't

(31:03):
be an entire season against the weak ACC two at that.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Okay, here's what we got in We're at seven forty
five and we do this schedule for quick two minutes
before we go to our last break. We've got quality
football games, Anthony first weekend, I mean quality. Syracusan Tennessee
is a quality game for the ACC A measuring gauge.

(31:29):
Syracuse has got a very tough schedule this year. Notre
Dame at Miami. Another game that is really good. LSU
at Clemson, first game, Anthony, LSU at Clemson. LSU has
lost their first game the last five years in a row.
That's another huge game. If LSU defeats Clemson, that knocks

(31:50):
the ACC, that knocks the ACC. If Notre Dame Miami.
I mean, there are just so many of these games
that right off the back, college football is often flowing.
So when we come back, we're gonna talk about University
of Louisville a bit. We've talked about Kentucky, their schedule
and why I think they've got a chance to Truly,
they've got a legitimate chance of making the college football

(32:11):
playoffs this year. One upset for the University of Louisville
will put them in the mix. It's E Sports Radio.
We'll talk to you all after the break. Welcome back
to E Sports Radio seven point fifty. Got young Anthony
on the line. Everyone's headed to work. But guys, with
this first college football ranking, which means nothing, but it
still gives us something to talk about. You've got the

(32:35):
SEC nine teams in the top twenty five, like always
nine teams. You have the Big ten with six ranked
squads in the top twenty five. You have the Big
Twelve with five ranked squads. You have the ACC with
three ranked squads in the top twenty five at the

(32:55):
beginning of the season. Again, we live in the city
of Louisville. Imperative. Everyone kind of gets upset with me,
but Louisville. We're in Louisville. When your conference only has
three ranked teams, it doesn't give you a lot of
opportunities to have big upsets, to put yourself in that
college football opportunity. Son, knowing what I just said again,

(33:19):
SEC nine, Big ten, six, Big twelve, five, ACC three, Okay,
when you're sitting there going through it, and then you're
starting to talk about the University of Louisville schedule and
how they can put themselves in position this year. Certain
years I say they don't have a chance. This year

(33:39):
they do. There's no question about it. And I want
to explain to people again so that as this season
plays out, University of Louisville has got Eastern Kentucky Game one,
that's a win, James Madison Game two, that's a win,
Bowling Green Game three, that's a win. Pittsburgh game for

(34:02):
the first conference game. That's one month into the season.
Did you play someone that's at your level? Pittsburgh is
ranked eighth or ninth in the ACC prediction level, so
middle of the pack. The middle of the pack will
be a competitive game. Their strength is their passing game.
Louisville's weakness defensively is their cornerbacks, their safeties. So it

(34:26):
could be a competitive game. But in my opinion, Louisville
wins offensively if Mither Moss plays decent and I'm sure
coach Brom will keep him out of trouble. What does
that mean? Quick passes to the flats, great running game,
a lot of misdirections, a lot of things that you

(34:46):
have to give coach Brom credit for. He's a great
offensive mind. No question he'll keep another Moss out of trouble,
especially those first four weeks. Week five is Virginia. They're
ranked tenth, middle of the pack. Again in Louisville should
win that game. Okay, my opinion, louiver should win the game.
So and it's an home five and oh guys, five

(35:10):
games five and oh my opinion, I think they win
all the games by fourteen or more. Well, have to see.
But in my opinion. I'm gonna stay with this. They
win by fourteen points or more. That brings us to
Week six Miami. I think I'm gonna go to that game.

(35:31):
I've got twenty Branch so that I have more free
time to go to games. Coach Branch and my assistant.
I'd let director at Simmons. He's doing all the work.
He should have done all the work anyway, He's a
smart guy. I'm the dumb guy to where I'll be
able to get out and watch more of these games
than I want to go see. And I do want
to go to Miami, have a chance to see Jay

(35:51):
Lucas and one of my sons, who is the head
coach in Miami for the football program, watch their practice,
and get to watch Louisville Miami play. Trying to see
we can get Mark Clayton to come down with us.
So that's a game I want to go to. That's
the game if Louisville can come up with one upset, Guys,
one upset. Miami right now is ranked right now is

(36:14):
ranked ahead of them, and right now is ranked in
the top ten. But guys, Miami cannot give up any games.
That's the problem. When we're saying, Louisville, what do we
have to do to truly permanent? If Miami loses a
game before they play Louisville Got Me and they open
up a Notre Dame, they've now dropped out of the

(36:36):
top ten. It's a win. We need them. We need
Miami to defeat Notre Day, period point blank. We need
Miami to defeat Florida got Me, period point blank. They've
got two opportunities before they play Louisville. If they can
defeat Notre Dame and Florida and Louisville beat them, that

(36:57):
counterports Louisville into the top nine, ten eleven the College
Football Playoffs at Week six. So those are the two
big things. Miami has to do their part. Notre Dame
right off the bat, and then Florida at home. Then
they've got Florida State on the road. Then they play
the University of Louisville at home. If Louisville wins that

(37:18):
game in Week six, they'll be in the top ten.
They'll truly have put themselves in position to go to
the College football Playoffs. Week seven, Boston College, I could
win that game. Shan and Anthony. Week eight, Virginia Tech. Again.
We know Louisville has a propentacy to drop a game.

(37:39):
They've done it every year. They give it one away.
This is the year coach Brown can't allow his team
to give one away. It's hard to say that I
was a coach you don't want to give any of
them away. But this is the year. It's imperative that
they stay focused because if they can beat defeat Miami
at Miami, louis was in the mix like in Kentucky

(37:59):
fans or not, it's just a fact they're in the mix.
California after Virginia Tech, that's a win or should be.
And then the last three games of the season, Louisville
will be challenged. Louisville will be challenged the last three weeks.
But if they can get there, because they could be undefeated.
They can be undefeated to that point. If they defeat Miami,

(38:22):
they're undefeated to that point, which puts them in the mix. Guys,
then that means Clemson, SMU, Kentucky they'll have to play.
Those are three challenging games. We'll get to those games
tomorrow and what we think happens in those games, it
is Eastwards Radio have a safe day, Get up early tomorrow.
School starts tomorrow. Kids are out there, drive slowly, love

(38:44):
you a god. Well then I'll be back tomorrow. Bye
bye
