Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to EVE Sports Radio. It is September the eleventh,
twenty twenty five. It's Thursday, if you did not know it,
one day from Friday. And of course I've got a
fantastic showing store for you. Let me get the business
out of the way first. I am the brand. This
is Shannon. The dude is behind the glass. The phone
(00:23):
number is five zero two five seventy nine hundred. That's
five zero two, five seven one seventy nine hundred. This
is Sports Talk seven to ninety KRD, and welcome back. Hope.
Everyone had a fantastic Wednesday afternoon. I had a busy one.
I'm gonna be honest with you, had emergency meetings called
at Simmons College and had to rush back to my
(00:43):
office and I wasn't let go. No, don't believe the rumors.
I was not let go. I was not anyway. But
I had a busy yesterday, and I'm sure you all
did too. But buckle up, buttercup, because we've got a
crazy show for you today. And yes, I say buckle up,
but a cup just another form of some of you
(01:04):
all are soft. I'm not gonna say all of you,
but a lot of the cat fans, Joe as soft
as you well know. Mike, I got your scores, Mike,
you finally sent them to me. So I'm my last
caller yesterday. That's my guy. I'm working on my golf game.
It's all I can tell you, mister Brown. I'm coming.
I am coming for you. So let's just start at
(01:26):
the beginning. There are no co hosts today. My agent
called their agents and let them all off today, so
there's no pay. There's no work for you today, so
there's no one but myself writing so low. Everyone remembers
your first car getting in your first car. Mine was
(01:47):
a blue up Pental Wagon. But that's okay. Some of
you had nice cars leaning back with your radio playing loud.
You may have had an FM radio out at the
car came with attached with Bill Crow underneath the glove
box so that you can get fem WHOA so you
can get big FM. You'll remember the day, oh I
(02:09):
do with your CB radio sticking in your console so
you can go break or breaker one night? Do you
all remember the day? I guess you all don't. You're
not old, but I do. That's how I'm doing it today.
I'm flying solo. I got Shannon, But you know, I
don't want to put the fear factor in Shannon just yet.
(02:30):
He may have a match coming up and I want
him mentally strong. So I'm not gonna challenge Shannon today.
I'm gonna leave him alone. He needs to have his whereabouts.
He's got a show coming up after this. I don't
want to walk up and tab him on the shoulder
in his studio. That's all. So anyway, we're gonna get
to the show at hand. First and foremost, if you're
(02:52):
not watching the Cincinnati Reds, you should eighteen percent chance
of making the playoffs. Beat the Padres, a playoff team
again two to one last night. Great game. So that's
all I'm gonna say. I'm gonna get them, I'm taking
them out of my mouth. I just wanted to let
you all know that the Reds are vastly improved this year,
(03:14):
new manager Francona, and they're doing a tremendous job. Seventy
four and seventy two. I think they've got sixteen games
left fifteen sixteen. Don't hold me to my math, but yes,
congratulations to the Rids. We do know that today, Lee Sterling,
Shannon will be calling Lee. You don't have the number,
just let me know at the first break on me
try to get it to you. But we're calling Lee
(03:35):
Sterling again. Thursday, we have Lee seven forty the last
half of the show. We'll go through his predictions, what
happened last week, and guys, just being honest, I'm gonna
ask him. He told us last week that he had
to go and look at every roster because of the
movement with the name, image and likeness. It's harder on
(03:55):
the gamblers and on Las Vegas to make these wagers
and pick these games because of so much movement, which
is good now, I mean truly, it's like Mary winning
last week. It's anybody's ballgame now. Until all these teams
settle in we see a true basis to where we
(04:17):
can judge these teams. It's hard to say. I mean,
we've got University of Love on the top eleven or
twelve and National Defense, but we played high school teams,
so we're is really Louisville stand We don't know. It's
just the facts, but well we'll find out in a
couple of weeks. University of Kentucky a little different. We
got to get we had a chance to watch Lane Kiffin.
(04:40):
In my opinion, he's a good coach, not a great coach.
He's got a lot of fanfare, but he's a good coach.
He is an offensive mind. And not to watch that game.
And like I said, the Evanson flows of that game
were crazy. It looked like Kentucky had full control next thing,
you know, and the think, oh Miss has full control
(05:02):
next thing in Kentucky. I never seen a football game
that way. It was really one play, that fourth down
completion of Kentucky. One play turned the complexion of the
game around. So again, it's hard to say because we
just don't know what everyone has. I'm going to talk
a little bit about Cutter Bowli, but not right now,
(05:23):
but we'll get to that. But we've got least early
so we all understand that piece will be coming. And
you know, there's some days. We got our callers, which
I'm going to go to right now. I got numerous
they did call last week, so I did get through internet.
(05:44):
Charlie James score. I also got Mike's score, guys. But
Mike called in yesterday. You all do know he called in.
We just couldn't get to the scores because I was
giving him a hard time, so he sent them to me.
Mike's and d Whites. So again, you've got two days
(06:05):
to get your scores in the game that counts guys
is in girls because we had a young lady win
last week. Excuse me. Is the Georgia Tennessee game at Tennessee.
That's the game that I will be evaluating who wins.
The other games are Indiana State at IU. Most people
(06:28):
expect Sinnetti's team. It should be a route. We've got
Eastern Michigan at Kentucky. My predictors are all over the board.
Twenty seven to twelve, forty to ten for Charlie, he
thinks it's a route, thirty fourteen for James, thirty three
(06:50):
fourteen for Blandon, twenty eight to seven for Adam, thirty
eight to seven for Steve, thirty one to three for Brandon.
Mary had to score twenty one to twelve, fairly competitive.
Gregg's had to score twenty eight to ten, So that
score is all over the game. I just don't know.
(07:11):
We'll have to wait and see. I have no idea
to Leedo. I had a little idea about what they've
done with the program's about I have no idea all
about Eastern Michigan, none whatsoever. I can't even make an opinion,
but I am going to make my wagers. Since everyone
is duck in the brand. I understand it's hard to
beat a winner. I understand, I know it. John wouldn't
(07:34):
feels like I do. It's just hard to beat a winner.
I'm going to make my selection of the four games
also so that you all will be able to evaluate
my pigs from here on out, since 'all are frightened,
not just on the game that counts. But I'm going
to pick all four just like everyone else. I'm going
to add mine and see how well I do these
last three weeks. No, I cannot win the five hundred dollars,
(07:56):
even though I've tried to think about ways to find
out how to. But really, he said, nope, it's got
to go to one of you. Also, I can't win
my own contest. Lucky devils, you all. That's all I
can say. You all are lucky, lucky people because in
third and the last eleven or ten weeks, I can
win this thing. I'm just good like that. That's what
(08:19):
I say. I don't know if it's true, but you
have to patch yourself on the back. So where I'm
going to do that then with the topics today or
Chris Collinsworth statement at the game, Lamar Jackson's apology about
what happened, the fan being a jack from the stadium.
(08:41):
I'm gonna talk about that a little bit. The bottle
being thrown at Derrick Henry, frozen water bottle whin at
Derrick Henry, which is a serious thing. High school football games.
I'm gonna come back, gotta talk high school sports. We
know that I will be tomorrow talk more about this
(09:03):
toward the end of the show at Shine High School
to do the Shiny Central Football game, the first Simmons
College high school football game that I've ever done done basketball.
It's going to be a lot of fun. I can't
wait to get out there. I don't know much about
the programs. I'm gonna have to study the Shiny football
program tonight. Don't know much about it now, but we'll
(09:24):
be there tomorrow morning, right and early. It should be
a beautiful day. We may be on the football field,
might be dark, but that's okay. I can handle it.
So we're going to start our football segment, our high
school football segment tomorrow also, So that's kind of what
we've got going on seven fifteen, and I'm going to
(09:46):
get to break But like I told you, and I
do want people to get their calls in, but I
want to take you know, four or five minutes with
where we are in America. It is my show talk
about what I want. I hope you don't turn me
off because I think it's really important. And it's just
(10:07):
my opinion. Everyone has one. My dad said, everybody's got
a Some people stink, some people's don't. But everyone has
an opinion. Some people stink in some people's opinions, some
people don't in some people's opinion. It depends on the person.
(10:29):
You got me, It depends on the person and that
person's life experience. We know it transpired yesterday, another shooting,
two three kids fighting for their lives. Colorado's shooting. We
all understand, and I've heard a little bit about that.
(10:53):
But Charlie Kirk, of course, the news wires were on
fire with his assassination. And again in America, we can
all have our opinions, got me, We can that's what
(11:14):
we can have, and we can all think what we
want to think. We all have free minds. Everyone does,
but in some countries you can't speak it. You can
think it, but you can't speak it. All I'm going
to tell you is this, if our elected politicians don't
(11:41):
start to bring the country together and trying to separate
us so they can take the money. And I mean
that guys wholeheartedly. They're more convicted criminals. I'm not talking
about our president. I'm talking about our House of Representatives.
What four undred and thirty of them dred senators that
(12:02):
are more convictions than the law allows. We have elected criminals.
We have Republican and Democrat. We have. That's us. It's
a reflection of us. No one wants to say that.
They want to point and say that guy's wrong, that
(12:23):
guy's right, that guy's right, that guy's wrong. But the
bottom line is our process is made to where we're
supposed to have debates. We're supposed to elect people the
thought process that will take America forth. Everyone has different
opinions until our elected officials can get a baseline of
(12:48):
what is acceptable to everyone and what is not gus
we're not long for this. We're short lived anyway. Let's
just be honest. We're under plus years short lived, don't
kid yourself. And if we can't truly start to figure
out what direction is right for the country, how to
(13:11):
go in that direction, what is right and what is wrong?
What has been wrong in history. That's why you have
history books, not rewrite them. Tell the truth about them,
the truth. It's gonna be very tough. It's gonna be
very difficult. I feel for everyone's families. I mean, we've
(13:34):
had so many attempted assassinations President Trump twice for once
while it was running for president. I mean, we've had
so many. The CEO assassination of United health Care, Melissa
Hartman and her family, the birdy in the Governor Shapiro's home, Guys,
(13:57):
has been going on since eighteen fifteen. David Ramsey, it's
not new, you all. I don't want you all to
you know, we're getting this to It's not new. Eighteen fifty,
eighteen sixty five, Abraham Lincoln nineteen oh one, William McKinley, guys,
this has been going on. Johnny Kennedy nineteen sixty three,
(14:18):
Martin Luther King nineteen sixty eight. Guys. I mean, we
have a propentcy of violence. It just is what it is.
And it's been here a long long time. When people
don't get their way or their opinion. Not even going
(14:40):
to go into the gun situation, I'm just not I'm
just talking about the mentality of where we are as
a country right now.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
That's all.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
There has to be a level of competency that we
can all agree upon that makes sense. That's all I'm
going to say. I'm not telling people which way they
should think or not about all the gun violence in
this country or the rhetoric that we've heard in this country,
(15:12):
or what's going to happen in this country, but certain
things that we say it's not correct.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Correct.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
I mean, we have representatives killed, we don't have flags dropped,
we have social media people killed, we have flags dropped. Guys,
We as a country have to decide what the baseline
is going to be and what we're going to follow.
Like I told you, all police officers have the toughest
(15:45):
job in the world. We all complain about them, black, white, everyone.
No one wants to be a police officer, period, point blank,
no one, and we give them the hardest times. Guys
do a tremendous job. There's a percentage you know they
do not don't lie to yourself. No, we have bad
(16:06):
police officers, but that doesn't ruin all of them. But
we do have, Yes, that's fact. Just like every profession,
bad coaches, bad officials that are cheating on games, bad
priest come on, bad reverends, come on, guys, bad everything.
There's bad elements in every facet. Doesn't make us all bad.
(16:31):
But I'm just asking if we Americans can start to
at least have a basis of what is correct and
what is not. And yes, there's been rhetoric said that
it's not correct. There lives that if you push it enough,
just like Steve Benning said, lie enough, it can be
the truth in America. Exact words, lie enough, and it
(16:55):
can be the truth in America. That's just a fact.
But you know what, don't listen to what people say anymore.
That's just out. You can't even hold people accountable for
their own words anymore. So just please make sure you
elect people that aren't going to separate us anymore, that
we'll try to bring the country together. That is my
(17:16):
only opinion on this matter. I'm gonna leave the rest alone.
I hope the shooting victims and cadaraderie cover for sure,
of course, gun violence is a problem in America. We
do know that. Again, you hear it all the time.
But I'm gonna make this one statement to you. I
want you to listen to its closely. We hear are
(17:38):
God given right. Okay, our god given right in our constitution.
Some things that we say are not what's in the Bible.
That's all. So this is the Sports Radio. It is
seven three. When we bounce back, we're gonna get into
some of the incidents that are happening in football. That again,
(18:02):
in my opinion, we won't make the correct decisions on
and do the right thing. We'll talk to you after
the break. Welcome back to Ean Sports Radio. Yes it
is seven twenty seven. I got a short segment in
store for you. I do want everyone to remember again,
it is ninet eleven. Guys. Everyone understands ninety eleven, the
(18:25):
tack on the towers in New York City, the Pentagon,
the plane that crashed. I think in Pennsylvania we do
all remember ninety eleven. I did go to the site
of ninety eleven at the Cleveland Cavaliers. I have pictures
that are unbelievable from that situation. So again, guys, our history.
It's tough right now. We have to make sure that
(18:47):
we try to bring the world together. I don't know
if it's a doable feat. I really do not anymore,
but I'm hoping. So let's get to the Ravens. Lamar
Jackson my favorite player. You and the Baltimore Ravens. Ravens
aren't my favorite team. The Mark Johnson my favorite player.
He wasn't Loudiville. So people who know me know that
(19:08):
I'm okay with the Ravens. But I mean, I'm not
a huge fan. More I watch him the less. I'm
a fan of the Ravens being honest with you, but
I love Lamar. Chris Collinsworth said, obviously in a statement,
both in the wrong. There to Mike Drico and as
you know, you know he's catching flag, he's catching heat,
(19:30):
people all over nothing. What do you mean both in
the wrong. The gentleman who pushed him on the helmet
shouldn't have touched the correct guys. This is one time correct.
That is a correct statement. No, the person should not
have touched the football players. No, correct, but he is
(19:51):
there is a but my dad would say, there's a
butt when you put yourself in arms, reach of harm.
Don't be surprised you get harmed. Now, the gentleman is
still wrong for touching you, Yes, and can if someone
touches you, can you protect yourself. Yes. But to my
(20:14):
Ravens and my favorite player, Lamar Jackson, no question about it.
And Kurty one says it's funny and I'll say it
to you again until I die. We went from never
being a quarterback that he's got to win it to
go in the category is one of the greatest efforts. Well,
he's done quite a bit to prove his wares as
a quarterback in the NFL. But the fact of the
(20:35):
matter is when you put yourself in harm, reach of danger,
don't be surprised you get touched. So everyone that's jumping
up and down on Chris Collin's word, are you kidding me?
Keep your butt on the field near your bench along
(20:57):
the sideline of the field. Never got touched. Was the
gentleman still wrong? Yes, Yes, he was wrong. You should
be banned for the games. Should have Lamar and those
guys have been that close to the fans, just being
honest with you, They were trying to rub it in
their face. We're just going to touchdown. They thought they
(21:17):
were gonna win, didn't win. That's my problem with the Ravens.
Quit partying until the game's over, Flowers, quit waving at
the fans to the game's over. So when again, that's
Harbaugh's job. I'm not a big fan of rball. John
Harbad needs to do his job. He needs to tell
those guys they have enough to win it. Yes, they
got enough to win it at Lamar Jackson at the quarterback,
(21:38):
which no one would have said seven years ago. Everybody
says it now. And if they don't win it, they're
gonna hold it against a kid. I got that. That's
because that's how good the kid is. Fact. But when
you put yourself that close to the opponent's fans in Buffalo,
don't be surprised you get touched. So, Chris collins Worth,
(22:00):
you are correct. The fans should not have touched, you know,
he should not have hit the helmet of the two players.
The players shouldn't have been that close. Yes, if someone
touches you and you push him back, that's in your
right to do. Lamar Jackson did what he in his
right to do. But a smart team, well coached team,
(22:23):
will stay away from the sideline, that's all. I'm not
talking about the sideline of the field, the side of
the stadium next to your opponent's fans, that's all. Don't
be surprised if you get pushed. Now. We're gonna get
to break seven thirty one Eastwards Radio when we come back.
I'm we talk about this spitting incident, which again is hideous.
(22:46):
Eastwarts Radio will talk to you in a minute. Welcome
back to the sports radio guys. I can't believe it.
It is September the eleventh. Unbelievable. How quickly time does pass. Guys.
We have got a oh. I hope that we're all good.
We've met David on the line, So Shannon, please bring
(23:07):
David's for trading on my first caller today. David, how
are you?
Speaker 2 (23:11):
I'm good?
Speaker 3 (23:11):
How about you?
Speaker 1 (23:13):
But David, every day when you're sixty six, I put
my finger in my nose this morning, David, every morning,
I'll I'm like, I'm.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Seventy still working.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
I'm still working. I'll be working in seventy four. I've
never retired.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
Why I just can't. I tried to sit around and
I couldn't do it. And I wouldn't have to work.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
No, David, I'm never retiring.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
Why I got you play golf?
Speaker 1 (23:44):
So long, Jerry, Only so long, David. When you beat
the system. See I've got David, I call it work.
I got the best job in the world. I'm having
a director at Simmons College, oft Kentucky. Best job in
the world. And I got the sports radio. I'm never retired.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
How's your son doing.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
You're doing fine. They've got a five K with about
a forty pound sandbag today. Oh yeah, they're working, respect
those firefighters. Yes, they've got a five K today with
a forty pound sandbag. Part of the exercise piece. You
got to see the book they have to learn to day.
Oh David, real deal. I'm telling you real.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Well.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
I appreciate it, so I really will. Let's get to it, David.
We got the Georgia Bulldogs against Tennessee. What do you have?
Speaker 3 (24:41):
I like Georgia twenty one seventeen.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Okay, that's a different score. I don't have to look.
No one's there. Okay, low scoring and low scoring. Okay,
Indiana State, are you?
Speaker 3 (24:58):
I think is going about forty five to seven?
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Okay, Eastern Michigan, Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
I think Kentucky will win that about twenty one to ten.
I just can't see Kentucky's scoring very many points. Not
with their quarterback. He won't throw the football whole thirty
five yards ain't gonna win.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
I think Carter Bowli is gonna get some time tomorrow,
I mean on Friday. Excuse me, because that other the
other quarterback.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
You can't grow for eighty five yards to hunt you
twenty two yards and win a ball game.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
True, that's true.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Statement.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Yeah, Zach Caltos. Let's go to Texas A and m
Notre Dame our last game.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
I like mildred A twenty one seventeen.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Okay, are you gonna get into Briars Patch with me?
Do you want to gamble against him? Are you know?
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (25:56):
What Georgia, I do like I always say the over under.
I think you're on the right side this time. I
do think Georgia wins the game. Well, but that that
unders mighty low. It would be woo, that'd be thirty seven.
I'm taking the over. I'm saying twenty two to seventeen Georgia.
I think that'll be thirty five six points. Sports. So
I got you, David, appreciate you. I got to get
(26:17):
the break. You were perfect for me. Thank you, sir,
Thanks for listening. You're welcome back, you two, sir. We're
gonna go to break. When we come back. We've got
the one and only Lee Sterling Paramount Sports that will
be calling E Sports Radio will talk to you all
in a minute seven two. We've got the one and
only Lee Sterling on the line. Hers a friend of mine.
(26:40):
He's in a business I could never do. I'd be
too nervous watching the games, but he does a tremendous
job picking games. Bring on the one and only Lee
Sterling for Paramount Sports. Lee, how are you brother?
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Name do you brother?
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (26:54):
You talked about being nervous watching games, right, A big
play on Baylor last week and didn't even watched that
game even though you're getting two and a half points.
The game starts off the first play from scrimmage.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Some of you throws a.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
Bomb, the cornerback cuts in front of the defender, hits
his hands and rolls over to the wide receiver. Seventy
five yard touchdown. And then I think there was another
driving the game, another seventy five yard one play touchdown.
You're just I mean the list goes on. On the
one drive, they had three penalties, three offensive holding penalties,
(27:33):
and somehow they still won in overtime. So they were
the better team. Just sometimes you got to go through
a lot. And I literally when they were down by
fourteen points of five minutes to go in the game,
I'm like, I'm done, but I've lost. It seems like
a lot more than I've won games like that, So
I think that's a good good sign going forward.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
No, christ Lead, your business is just crazy. I will
be down, I mean to Miami for the Louisville game,
so we'll definitely get together, try to get lunch or something.
I'm gonna stay come in Friday morning, leave Sunday night,
and my wife's now not coming, so I'll be flying solo,
so my schedule will be wide open. So let's try
to get together.
Speaker 4 (28:13):
What do you get in you know, get Friday, Yes, yes,
getting in late flight, get now.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
I get in at eight thirty in the morning. That's
the red flight from Louisville to Miami. Six am.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
Alright, okay, Friday morning in Miami Friday morning, you know
we might have to do so I'd have to do
Joe's Stonecraft Friday night.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Hey, hey, we can do well. We got the game
Friday night, lovell blaze.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Oh that's Friday, Friday Night. I totally forgot that Friday Night.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Yeah right, they played Friday night.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
I totally forgot.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
Well, we'll get it together. We get it together.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
That's so far that's so far out, and that this
is for me right now.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
No, I know you're trying to find out which players
on which team.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
I'm just trying to make it through the weekend.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
This weekend, so you've got crazy games, and all your
games are almost all of my games. So let's start
with Notre Dame. Texas A and M. Huge game for
Notre Dame. James Franklin must win in my opinion, what happens.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
Yeah, I think that they've got to win if they
have aspirations of getting to the playoffs. I mean, they
even if they lost, they'd have to run the table
and look really good and and have to have a lot.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Of teams have three losses.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
But you know, here's the problem for tex A and M.
Their quarterback Marcel Reid has not faced Notre Dame yet,
and Notre Dame has an extra week to prepare for him.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
They had to buy last week, and then.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
We didn't look bad against Miami.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
Miami just was just a little bit better. So Mima's
pretty good. Pretty good, yeah, Miami's.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
And also I thought in that game that they Miami
probably has a top five offensive line and also maybe
a stable of top five running backs a trio running back.
So if not top ten, they held up well. They
only gave up three point five yards per Kerry. I
think their quarterback CJ. Bar is good and talented. This
(30:17):
A and M team. Also what's interesting, they're running backs
Le'Veon Moss and Ruben Owens. They have a combined one
hundred and sixty four rushing yards versus inferior opponents the
first two games. Marcell Reid's actually they're leading rusher, So
that concerns me here. I don't know if you're just
going to be able to get away with a disciplined
(30:38):
team and a team that tackles well like Notre Dame
with that kind of stat here. And I also think
that in the top games where I watched Marcel Reid
last year Texas and South Carolina, he was very good.
I like Notre Dame. Here, I'm going to lay the
touchdown thirty to seventeen.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Gotcha. Now let's go back to Miami been impressive seventeen
and half point favorites over South Florida, who defeated Florida.
We know Billy Nakers on the hot is not even
a hot seat anymore. He's on fire to throw water
on it. Yeah good, what's going to What do you
think Miami by seventeen and a half You believe that, yes, So.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
Here's what's interesting.
Speaker 4 (31:18):
First, I thought the line was going to come about
eleven and a half twelve. When it came that high,
I'm like, there's got to be a reason. And I'm
watching the tape and I'm looking at the stats.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
How about this.
Speaker 4 (31:29):
South Florida's defense only had three defensive pressures, So not
that Florida was that much better to South Florida, But
South Florida won the game with no pressure from their
defensive front three the entire game. Not one was from
a defensive lineman zero. They had to They had to
get pressure from their linebackers and cornerback blitzes, and the
(31:53):
Florida offensive line pass flocking grades were the highsts that
they've had combined in ten years. So that kind of
shows you they left a lot out there. I really
think that DJ Lagway was nowhere near one hundred percent.
You know, he missed a bunch of time in fall camp.
He's wearing that sleeve on his left leg, a white
left sleeve, so.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
That could be a problem. You know.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
Carson Beck, he was not People weren't talking about him
in the top five quarterbacks here in the potential draft,
but he was the only one that has looked I
think high level our panning sellers.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Good looked pedestrian.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Pedestrian at best. Yes, So with them not getting pressure
South Florida and went and looked at a stat Carsion Beck.
How does he do against a clean pocket? Well, since
he became a starter four years ago, he is number
six of all the quarterbacks. You know, there's one hundred and.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
Thirty six different starters. He's six overall.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
He is that good with the clean pocket surveying the fielders.
I don't know if South Florida has anything left.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
In the tank.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
And South Florida the best players are Byron Brown running
the football. He's run it fourteen.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
And seventeen times.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
And Miami faced him last year and eventually they warmed
down and won fifty fifty to fifteen. I think Carson
Becker is going to couch Miami thirty four to fourteen.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
Thirty four fourteen, Yeah, like, no, Carson. He has resurrected
his career. He's played really well.
Speaker 4 (33:27):
He can look good, and you're right going he's going
from a potential first pick to a third or fourth
rounder to back to maybe being in the top ten.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
I agree, Yeah, we'll have to just continue to watch
his progress. But he's got chances.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Yeah, how do tell me?
Speaker 1 (33:44):
Is Clemson? Is Clemson real? Are they memorycks? And I'm
picking Georgia Tech. I told everyone I be there on
my list. I'm picking Georgia Tech to win the game
at Georgia Tech. What do you have?
Speaker 4 (33:56):
So that was my first inclination that Georgia Tech has
to call here. But here's the problem. Haines King looks great.
You watch him and you're like, wow, he's talented, always hurt.
Didn't play last week, so obviously.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
Not close to one hundred percent, and.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
Haven't been good in big games they played. Two years ago,
he was thirteen for thirty one, two touchdowns, four interceptions,
minus three rushing yards in that thirty one. The thirteen
loss here, Clemson rushed for just one point six yards
per carry, which concerns me against LSU, three point eight
(34:36):
nine against Troy. But this kid named Adam Randalls coming
on for Clemson and he might be their bell cow
if you watch the game. A tough game here, but
I just can't trust Haines King. Fumbles a lot too,
fumbles on top of Drow's interceptions and key games, and
Clemson's owned him nine to oh straight up, seven to
(34:56):
one to one against the spread last nine games. I
like Clemson year thirty to twenty four, thirty to twenty four.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
So you do, so you do.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
I didn't know the issues the flaws with Hayes King.
When I've watched he's been really good, effective, runs the
ball strongly and makes enough passes to keep you to
make it legitimate. But I'm gonna watch that game. That's
one of the games that look to look at that.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Look at him.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
He's a fumbler. He is a fumbler. Talented, but he's
a fumbler.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
So well, I know you know more than I, But
I am going to watch the game. Kentucky, Michigan. Now
tell me Kentucky. I went to the game last week.
That was the craziest game. Lee heavans and flows Kentucky
for fourteen to fifteen minutes, complete control of the game,
offensive and defensively, special team's complete control. One fourth point
fourth down play and everything flips. The completion on fourth
(35:50):
down for ole miss and everything flipped. What do you
think in Tuchy's what's the level? And do you think
Cutter Bowley should be the starter?
Speaker 2 (36:00):
You know, I don't.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
Maybe maybe you know injury, you know that that might
that might just that might be a new point here,
But I think they're fine with either guy. They're just
not talented enough to beat good teams.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
That's the problem.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
So the question in this game is do I trust
a Wildcats with this big number, knowing full well they're
not a real big score here? And you know what
I will Eastern Michigan played Texas State and Long Island.
Listen to these stats and I watched the games. They
lost both games. They lost a Long Island while allowing
(36:39):
six hundred and twenty three total rushing yards in the
two games, seven point four yards per carry and seven
rushing touchdowns. They lost their entire front seven from last year.
And it wasn't I think they got one kid from Elon.
The rest of the guys that they got, we're backups
last year. They're small, they can't tackle, can't get pressure
(37:02):
on the quarterback. A lot of bad combinations last year.
Kentucky beat Southern Missed by thirty one, oh Hire by
thirty five, Murray State by forty two.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
Bully ball.
Speaker 4 (37:12):
I think that they get it done here. I think
they win and cover forty to ten.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
None that you said that I did not know. I
knew nothing about Eastern Michigan, but I understand. Yes, Kentucky
can run the ball to quality running backs. Dowdale, I'm
not sure the other young man's name who may even
be better than Daldlle. I have to go with that.
So great, We've got my Ravens. Well, I'm a Lamar
Jackson fan. I'm okay on the Ravens. I'm okay on
(37:38):
John Harbor. I'm just a Lamar Jackson fan. From the period,
point blank. Yeah, before we go to Cleveland, that game,
what do you think of that loss to Buffalo.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
Fifty five minutes? They controlled the game fifty five minutes
and then just everything turned around. And what I would
have done once they were leading by one fourth and
to you got to go for it. I mean, you
give Josh Allen any more than twenty seconds to go
thirty or forty yards too much?
Speaker 2 (38:09):
So he was he was on saw that. Yeah. Looked
at my wife.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
She was sitting in my man gave and she said,
what do you think go for it? And I said absolutely.
As soon as they didn't, I said. If they don't
go for it, game is over. She goes, oh, here
you go again, mister negative.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
I said, no, I've seen too many of.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
These too, see too many. I've felt it. I felt
I was texting friends. You get the same thing from
your wife. You can tell yes, she says, I'm mister negative,
exact words, but you can feel it. I felt it.
I've got a friend of mine who can tell you.
I felt it. I said, nah, this game is over.
It didn't feel good. So Cleveland eleven and a half.
(38:50):
Do they cover this week?
Speaker 2 (38:54):
I think that they will. Yeah, I think that they will.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
You know, it's not going to be easy here for Cleveland.
So Miles Garrett is really good and they then had
a much easier task last week. Now they got to
try it. You know, when you're trying to take down
Joe Burrow compared to Lamar Jackson night and day. So
(39:17):
I just think Joe Flacco, which is so easy to
bring down Josh Allen. Yes, he was tough, and Flacco's
he's a statue and pressure against him results a lot
of times in a sack, lost charge, or even an
interception here, so he was good for a while in
the last couple drives. Their play calling was atrocious. Also.
(39:38):
The Browns can attempt to muscle up with two tight
ends like the Ravens did, but when an underdog tries
to play like a favorite, things usually don't go well
because the favorite can do it better. And the Browns
managed to hang in there on Sunday with a pass
heavy twenty four to forty five run pass split. With
(39:58):
Flaco on that offense, it needs to be the other
way around.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
Good luck getting there. Baltimore thirty one seventeen.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
Gotcha ls LSU Florida.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
