Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to the Sports Radio September fifteenth. We're halfway
through twenty twenty five Monday in the Louisville area. If
you didn't know it, it's going to be a fantastic,
beautiful day. Had a tremendous weekend of sports. I hope
that you all were able to watch as much as
I was able to watch. I watched quite a bit.
But welcome back to the show. The phone number is

(00:22):
five zero two five seven one seventy nine hundred. That's
five zero two, five seven to one seventy nine hundred.
This is Sports Talk seven ninety KRD. Of course, we've
got Shan and the dude sitting in behind the glass
for us the first three days. Then you'll be busy
with Matt Thursday and Friday. But we've stole Shannon the

(00:42):
first three days, so we appreciate Shannon sitting in with us.
And of course, Shannon, let me know when another guy
calls in. He might be here, he might not. He's
called ring you. But let me know if George Williams
calls in. Yeah, great, So first and four or most
I've got it's a big challenge going on. You all

(01:04):
don't know about it yet, but there are a lot
of Kentucky Wildcats in town. We were at Malon's last
night against a lot of Louisville Cardinals. There's a golf
match that's going to be going on at Big Springs
Country Club today at one o'clock. It's going to be
a battle, an epic battle of some great golfers. That's

(01:25):
a joke. If y'all didn't know it, that was a joke.
But there's going to be a lot of golf being played,
eighteen holes, a lot of teams, a lot of fun
raising money for Tony Dilk and the Sickle Self Foundation. Also,
we're doing a lot of things for the West End
School here in Louisville, and a lot of other things.
We had Mike Buying on a week or so ago,
who spoke about where all the money's going to go.

(01:47):
But everyone was in at Malan's and we ate. There's
a lot of camaraderie. A lot of stuff was being talked.
I'm saying stuff. That's the nice way to put this
is the only way I can tell you. But there
was a lot of stuff talked about the good old
days and the bad days. Of course, we had a
lot of Kentucky players. Tony Dunk was there, when Ston

(02:07):
Bennett was there and everyone. We were just going through
what was gonna happen tomorrow, then the Cartons coming out
on top. That's all I know. I don't know how
we're keeping score, but we're keeping score. I don't know
if this is all the Kentucky teams score to all
the Louisville teams. I have no idea, but we are

(02:28):
keeping score. So there will be trophies given out, and
the one and only has to get a trophy, as
you all well know. But it's gonna be what a
great time looking forward to it, but just reminiscing getting
together with all the guys. Wilie Brown who does not play,
Milt Wagner does not play, but Luke Hancock was there,

(02:50):
he's playing. Who else was there for? Robbie Valentine was there? Myself?
Oh gosh, oh, the one and only? How can I forget?
The one and only? Flew in special for this? Kenny
Payne's playing on the Louisville team. Kenny flew in last night.
He was there. Okay, great, thank you, so we've got it.

(03:12):
We're we're ready. Kenny's are a player I'm the B player.
I'm a B player. Do not listen to the guy
and get ready to bring on. He will not tell
you correctly. But I am the B player one and
only ring you.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Is that your name, sir? I'm glad that you I'm
glad you heard that. Really will Huh?

Speaker 1 (03:39):
No, he's on his way in. Okay, got you he
was because he wasn't there last night. I was looking
for him, so.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Okay, well he probably was having if you were looking
for him.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Uh uh.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
You know. I told him, don't really run with you
too much because I don't want you to ruin him
like you've ruined me. You know.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I mean, your reputation, George, is bad.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Is that what you're It's going down there, it's going down.
I lost the mailbox. Say you got your sixties.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
You weren't worried about your reputation anymore, that's what you
told me.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
I'm not. I just don't want here, want to run.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Okay, got you. But it should be a lot of fun.
It should be a lot of fun. It's gonna be
a gorgeous George. Oh what a beautiful that was out
this morning practicing all my swing and I did not
pull a muscle, George, I did not.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
So why were you practicing? What were you practically? You speaking?

Speaker 1 (04:40):
No, I was practiced my swing for today's match against
the Wildcats.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
George, what are you gonna do? You're gonna host it?
Are you're gonna You're gonna walk around every hole like
you normally doing, just looking what everybody doing? Shake hands?

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Oh no, no, no, I don't have to work this time.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
You got clubs, you got gloves, yes, George. Alright, okay, now, Jerry,
I'm gonna tell the fans now, if y'all really want
to see a treat, this is something. Y'all should come
out and see Jerry on the golf course. If you
if you hadn't had a laughing a long time, if
you haven't had a laughing a long time, let me
come complete that, Jair, you just had laughing a long time,

(05:21):
you should come out and see Jerry on the golf course.
Everybody else will be doing great, but you know, I
guess the cars will be going down again today.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Huh he nobody's laughing at that. George. I wouldn't even
find him. Want to see.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Well, you're gonna participate, Jarry? I mean, I don't understand
you're trying to bring the team down. No, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
I'm gonna participate, do what I'm supposed to do. George,
I'm gonna care.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Oh so you're not taking any name Frankie with you?
Huh No, okay, just checking.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
He left out about sixteen. I said, what's going on?
When she says getting fern Creek, George, that fire department
doesn't play. He's out of here. They're working right now, George,
They're working. That's all I can do. Respect you without
a doubt.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
So I'm proud of it.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yes, he did not go to Louis or Kentucky. They
would not let Mike bring him in as a ringer.
He would have been a ringer. He's a member at
the Big Springs, so that would have been unfair. So no,
Frank's not playing.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Around on the team, Jerry. That would probably even it out, though,
don't you think.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
No, Jared, George, I'm a bat player. All I can
say is this, Mike Brown a big fan George. Mike's
big Kentucky fan. He showed up when I invited people.
He showed up with a Kentucky bag. George, big blue
picture with him and Deale Curry and then you know what,
he turned me and said, I'll get one with you later.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Oh man, why they treat you like Jared. He's such
a good guy.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
I'll get one with you later. I said, boy, you
can't even You can't make this stuff up. You cannot
so Joe anyway, but Mike knows that at last Hole
when we had a penny riding on it, He's got
it done. That's all I'm telling George. Shipping and putting
is the game. I got it done. So anyway, George,

(07:29):
we've got a lot to talk about. Que Let's start first, though, George. Saturday,
I was at Swim Across America. It's a fundraiser for
the Brown Cancer Center, and George, it was really a
fantastic event. Pam Stone. You all don't know Pamstone. She
went to Ballot with me, Ballot Nation. She went to Harvard.

(07:50):
She lives in Boston now. She's been with a brokera's
firm for golly forty plus years. I helped to put
it on. This is the second year that they did it,
and I had opportunities. Louisville's swimming team was there, swimming coaches,
a lot of kids. They were swimming, George. It was
a lot of fun, raised a lot of money for
the Brown Cancer Center. So I was happy to tell

(08:11):
Jerry this was a briar wood right there at Hirshborn
Lane and Shelby not Sheby Vill Road. I'm come on
Hirshborn Lane in sixty four right there, George. You can
see it off the A big facility, a tennis and
swim facility. Really nice. First time i'd been there, Georgia,
I mean probably thirty years, but it was nice. So

(08:32):
I want to make sure that I appreciate Pam for
inviting me and have an opportunity to be a part
of that fundraiser. And then, George, after that, I watched
football now since you brought it up, and I really
disappointed in you, George.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
How did that?

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Why did you let Central do that? George? They did
not have to do that, Shiny, they did not.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
So that's I tried to tell Jerry, we are the best.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
In the West there, George. I didn't like best in
the West, George. All right, people don't know. Let me
tell them to score. It was forty nine and nothing Central, George.
You did not do that.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Well, Jerry, was a lot talk going on down there Friday,
and I think the players heard it and they tried.
They came on the field, Jerry, I've seen fire coming
down their eyes. And it wasn't a pretty picture. Wasn't
a pretty picture.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
It was not, No, it was not. I mean they
had tailgating going on. Alumni came, George. We pubbed the game,
and the Yellow Jackets went to Central and beat them.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Forty nine went to Jered China.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
I'm glad it might have been seventy Kim, But George,
you did not have to do that.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I didn't go well.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
When Cosby was there, he told me it was unfair
you were there.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Come on, George, Well the band perform really well, Jerry.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
The that's what I heard.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
But you could have pulled it. Yeah, well we did.
We put the second we put, we put the younger
players in Ja. We gave him a shot. You know.
I think China got took. There may have been a
little bit too pumped Jay, They may have been a
little bit too pumped up for the game, you know.
But we just do what we do with it to
be had. We just came down and stung them and
went on back home, you know. Me and took the

(10:23):
title of the best in the rest, but also got
the UNIEE chair. She was there to sapless. Oh yes,
Doctor Brooks is all over town. She's got so many
new stadiums and she's got to break in. She's running
herself to death.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
I can't wait for their all. The field is fantastic,
but we've got numerous male high school George Manual. I mean,
their fields going up everywhere. And it was overdue, George.
We all know that, well overdue the neglected the facilities
in Justin County school system for over forty years. We
know that. So, yes, April's doing a great job and

(10:57):
the kids, it's just they have to be a light
to play on fields like that, George.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
I think so well, you know, and you can probably
tell that, Ja, because remember we did the Shiny Game
and about two or three years ago, they had what
about fourteen players on the team. Uh now they've got
a number of over thirty six players coming on the team,
and so you can tell that it's having an effect
there and the team is growing. And I think a
lot of the things that April is put in with
Justin County sports is really affecting some of the young

(11:25):
people getting more participated. And I think they also that
they open up middle school really helped shiny a lot.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yes, I agree, so George. Anyway, congratulations to Central.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Pall upset excited you said jackets. You know men, I know.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Brian Station eight. My ballot Bruins three, George, I can't score.
Don't laugh. I can't score. My Bruins cannot score. That's
my only issue. They cannot score. They're struggling to score
the ball now, George. This week's Simmons College.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
One of problems though, jaed that discipline. You know, we
talked about that day. I'll got quite a few penalty
y'all hurt yourself. I mean, maybe would m.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
George. There's no question. And I used to George, after
watching the NFL and college, I'm gonna leave high school
players alone, because when I'm telling you, undisciplined football players
not knowing the rules. George, did you see the Pittsburgh
game the kick returner touches the ball to I mean, George,
I'm seeing things now. It's like, do they even know

(12:30):
the rules? George, We're going to talk about it. It's
amazing when I'm watching in these games with professionals and
college players. Now that they're being paid their professionals. It's amazing.
But we're going to do our Simmons College High School
game day, George. This week it's fern Creek at Ballard.
The game was supposed to have been at fern Creek,

(12:51):
but I don't think their fields ready at George. I'm
not sure on them called me to that, but I
know the game is.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Being played if they missed them. Jared. That's one of
the reasons that Kyle schools three transfer games to other
schools because they haven't completed their facilities.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
So, George Friday, we're not allowing your own balanced campus.
You'll have to put the headphones down on Brownsboro Road.
But I'm not letting you on my campus. Not with
your negativity. I can't do it. George.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Well, I've been on your campus. I went. I went
with Ron and we got to see what Mail did
to the ballot cubs, the cubbies, you know what I mean.
And they took the little cubs and they beat them
and sit them on, just beat them the different jet.
When I was there, Hunt and y'all in that game,
y'all had one hundred yards works up Country Chair. I mean,
you know, you think about the comeback that y'all made.

(13:38):
It y'all had not meant made so many pundents, y'all
might have got mailed. But since you didn't, me and
Ron's been having a good time talking about the peak form.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
But go ahead today at Trinity at Mail, George. So,
I guess I hope Male Stadium is ready because that's
the game of the week. We're not doing our high
school game day there, but that's the game Trinity the
High School at Mail George Friday. That's gonna be a
good one. Odham County Oldham, that'll be packed.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
K c D.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Hopkins, Casey Deal, win that game, Fern Cricket Ballord, Cincinnati
Elder that one. That one good game. Manual at Cooper.
That's good game, George. Last week Trinity did defeat Carmel
Indiana forty one, twenty eight, k c D sixty three
to sales thirty eight. People are scoring Manual thirty three,

(14:26):
Atherton twenty one. Atherton is improved, George.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
You know, we gotta go out that jail. We don't
found ourselves and we got to go This year we're
gonna say they've earned the right for us to show up.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
They earned the right. I agree. And then, of course
my Bruins went down eight to three against Brian's station.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
So got it? Gang hurt? What a game?

Speaker 1 (14:49):
That's not even fun?

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Come on? Eight eight three, eight to three? Have you
ever heard of game?

Speaker 1 (14:56):
I don't safeties and two field goals. I have no
idea our safety. I don't know. George, I didn't go
to the game was George?

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Eight to three? I don't even Oh my god, I
can't believe that when you say that you made a mistake. Yeah,
I ain't gonna le to you.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
I didn't.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
I didn't.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
So George, here we go seven to twenty. We're going
to break George the contest. When we come back, we're
gonna talk about the contest. And George, you're not gonna
believe it. No, no, no, you just wait. Oh, there
were a ton of people that were three and one.
The games are hard to pick. Now there was one

(15:35):
person that was four and oh I'll talk about get
out of here. No, no, bring up. I don't even
bring up a he's a nightmare. He's a nightmare. This
is E Sports Radio Ring Young bring you, George Williams
on the other line. When we come back, we're gonna

(15:56):
talk some true college football, some interesting things watched, and
George Carter Bowley. We're gonna talk about the Wildcats after the.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Break they win.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Yes, they want George esus sport. I'm trying to tell you,
trying to take us out here. Welcome back to EVE
Sports Radio seven twenty five. You need to be there
at eight. You need to be moving. It is September
the fifteenth, middle of the month. This is EVE Sports Radio.
We've got the one and only ring who excuse me,
ring you on the ALIGNE George Williams with us. George,

(16:29):
here's the deal.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Okay, we have a contest.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Everyone knows and this one is I think the best ever. George.
I'm because I get more people involved. There's a five
hundred dollars payout at the end of the college football playoff. George,
five hundred dollars. There's no tricks. Billy Hayes, Town and Country, Commonwealth, Dodge,
Nissan and Nashville. I keep going on and on about Billy.

(16:54):
His step to the plate is being my major sponsor. George, Okay,
out of the major sponsor. Part of it is he
wanted to make sure of what he gives me, Georgie,
he's not. I'm taking five hundred out of what he
pays me at the end to pay someone George for
being part of the content. Billy says, he just he
loves to hear people when they're trying to pick the games.
Got it, Billy, Billy listens to George. It's great when

(17:17):
he's not.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Inflo five hundred dollars on the line. Jee, I'm listening to.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
I agree. I agree, so George, then you'd.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Be at the bank with the money, seeing how much
interest is.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Exactly which is a cury? And you're right now, George,
here's the deed. Every week counts. Every week counts. Everyone
is collecting their scores. So it's better than most because
it's oh I lost this week. Move on, No, we're
gonna see who's the best at picking games. So George,
everyone I did it this week. George, you're gonna have

(17:53):
to do it honestly, Friday or today, you're gonna do it.
I'll give you the games. You're gonna be first because
I haven't gotten your scores, but I I want to
give people mine. Last week I had Indiana thirty eight.
Indiana State ten. That was a win for me, Guys,
I went with the upset. I had Tennessee twenty four,
Georgia fourteen, I lost got me. I had Kentucky twenty eight,

(18:19):
Eastern Michigan seven, and you all. I had Texas A
and m b d Notre Dame. I'm not a huge
Notre Dame fan, so Jorian. There are only two people
that chose Texas A and m over Notre Dame, myself
and the winner. But I've got to talk to you
about him. I'm gonna talk to him at the end.
So let me just give you some of the scores.

(18:39):
Not all. Dwight, your man, was three and one. Patty,
my my favorite, was three and one. Exactly was three
and one. Martin was three and one. Anthony can't tell
you his not Anthony my son, but Anthony the winner.
I'll tell you at the end. Mary was three and one.
Greg was too two. Brandon was three and one. Steve

(19:02):
was three and one. Blandon was three and one, Adam
was two and two, Kevin was three and one, Mike
was three and one, James was two and two, Charlie
was two and two, Ron was three and one. David
was three and one. They're Moore. So you all get it,
I mean you understand. Three and one was the score, George.
No one took Texas A and M. Everybody all three

(19:25):
scores right other than Texas A and M right. So George,
everyone knows Anthony Anthony is with the punter for Kentucky's
football team, and he is now insurance guy he always
gets in my contest, George, these are Anthony scores. I

(19:45):
did have him pulled up, but I don't have time
I don't want to fiddle with it trying to find
his actual email to me. Here they are. Here's what
Zach words. Hello, sir Anthony. I know I'm old. Tell
you Dan, I'm still mad at him. Did not want
to interrupt the coach. So here are mind for this weekend.

(20:05):
Hope you have a great day. He's good, I mean Anthony,
good guy. Young son looks just like you. Georgia twenty
six to nineteen and right next to it, he writes
in the email he sent me, I'm in against you.
Twenty six nineteen was his score. Georgia one, Indiana Indiana one,

(20:28):
Kentucky forty five to ten Kentucky one. Close to the score.
He picked Texas A and M twenty three twenty. He's
the only guy and myself they picked Texas A and M.
So George, of course he gets in. He gets in
the Briars Bush with me. I said, okay, let me
think about this. I text back to me. I said, cool,

(20:54):
I'm taking the over I go twelve seven nan Yo, Yes,
I did. Isn't next? I said it to him? I said,
jay Eves Georgia twenty seven, Tennessee nineteen, even though I
thought Tennessee was gonna pull the upset. But everyone knows
I always just take the over under. So whatever team
they beat, George, I picked that same team, but I
picked the over under. Guess what, George, We all know

(21:17):
the actual score was forty four forty one. He got
that Briars Bush. Anthony, no better, y'all aren't gonna beat me.
I'm good at this. I should beat the new least early.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
I beat him, George, He did you?

Speaker 1 (21:33):
I what is George? Because everyone's taking higher scores? Well,
everyone else would have beat me Ron and Patty because
I took the under, George, I did, but the I
didn't think it would be a high scoring game, not
like that, not like the way it was. What a game, Georgia.
Ye're lucky that kid missed that field. You know how
bad that young man feels. George missing that field? Good

(21:55):
at the end man, Yes, at Tennessee, I mean George,
but Josh, Heipel, you gotta take some of the blame. George,
he gets what was it a delayed game?

Speaker 2 (22:07):
What happened to him five years now? They move move move.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Yes, exactly a legal procedure. What I'm sitting there going, well, y'all,
just what a way to do that young kid? What
a way to do that kid?

Speaker 2 (22:20):
So you why not just go out and take the field. Go?

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Why not, George, go ahead and just kick the dangfield? Go?
Thank you there?

Speaker 2 (22:27):
You got me?

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Come on, man, simple just kick the field. Nope, put
pressure on at the kid and missus it they losing overtime.
What a way to go down? What I mean with George?
What a ball? Ye crazy?

Speaker 2 (22:39):
And you know yourself, Jerry, you know when you when
you you're here, fans say, well, you know that's what
he's supposed to do, But you know yourself, Jerry the
longer referee. Let you stand at the free throw man.
You gotta shoot your free throws. The more you start thinking,
the more the Tenson gets sending George, you know, let
the boy kick. He's ready, he's up right next to you.

(23:00):
You don't what we're going next? Next play out? Come
on now? I got to think, you know what I mean,
And the crowd's going crazy and crazy and crazy, and
then you say we're going to think kick it and
then you jump. Oh man, he had everything going against him,
poor fellow. I'm with you, Joe. I can't imagine how
bad he felt. And then I can't imagine how bad
the cloud made him feel. Outter he missed it.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Hey, George, Hey, George, you know what my man? Ron
loves me to give up my money. Guess what, Ron, Ron,
Mine didn't count I just put it in to hear
the scores. What counted was the head to head. You
know what, Rod said me, Ron loves me giving up money.
Ron said, Hey, that means you were three and one
and Anthony wins. No answer. He got to the Briars

(23:43):
Bush run. I couldn't.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Right. I think you're correct, Ryan, Ron. I do believe
you got a point though.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
No, Oh, come on, Jered, oh, Josh, Rod, He's said
he went four and oh he did go for and
O Ron, but he got in the briars push with me.
That was the only game to count it. I took
the over. He got beat. He shouldn't have gotten in.
If he would not have bet against me, George, he
would have won the money. But in his email he

(24:16):
put in it, I'm gonna post his email. I'm a
call Anthony to make sure. He says, I can post
it in his email, I'm in against you. I said,
you're all I answered it right back to Hey, Ron
loves me to give up my money?

Speaker 2 (24:29):
No, Ron, Hey, Jarrett, Yeah, I got I got a
break and alert for you, the whole, your whole audience
loves for you. Have to give up money. I think
we've all taken. I think we got a cult. Let's
take Jerry's money.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
Only Louis gives away trus.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
You don't like to give it to what you know? You?
I say one thing for Jah, You're the only guy
that I know. It goes raised money, not your money,
and hate to give it away.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
Where's the deal, George. Since Roy's on me, I'm going
to give four gift cards Theorios River Road. I'm gonna
give gift cards to Anthony, since he was close stay
the Briars Bush with Jerry Eves. That's all I can
tell people.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
When they come in the legend.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Huh, I'm a legend in there, George.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
The Legend of the Bribe Bush.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Jerry, the Legend of the Bribe Bush. It's seven thirty four,
So everyone keep up with your games. So now Ron
is correct on one point. Anthony was four and oh
this week. So Anthony has an up on everybody because
he was the only four and oh this week, George.
So if he doesn't, well it continues. Five hundred dollars

(25:44):
payout George to the person.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
But then you have a couple of four and those
last week. Yes, but it.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Again, there a couple. This was the only four and
oh this week, George, only one.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Okay, he could took the lead on that.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Yeah, exactly, he's got a look. He may have a
leg up on him. Stay consistent, that's all you have
to do, and be able to pick games. And we're
gonna find out who walks with five hundred George. That's
five one dollar bills, George, no matter what it's radio,
start to give away some money. That's pretty good. I
wish I could do. I could use that five hundred.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
What what are you gonna use it for? You got
more money you need now, sir, But I ain't gonna be.
I don't want people to start to asking for loans
because I don't want to see cry publicly.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
No. No, no, no, no, George, No no problem. I'm
being honest with you, George. I've been blessed to death
and I'm glad you said that, George. I tell them
all the time. I hope no doesn't hurt your feelings.
It doesn't hurt mine. Oh yes, people have.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
That's one thing I know.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
George Williams. When I signed my pro contract, when I
made the team, I had to make the team. I
wasn't there again in the first round. I had to
make the team. The minute I made the team, my
dad told me, I said, I'm tell you one thing,
one thing. Only learn to say no. That's all. So
seven thirty six, we're gonna get to break George when we.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Come back, and you could ye, you go, I've been
a problem with it.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
My coach is no twenty branch. If you work for me, guys,
I don't cut any cord. It is your players know
it is week That's it. George, things run smoothly when
people do know what the deal is and what you're
gonna do. People just don't know that. When your wish
you wash, she has a boss, then everybody's wish you washing.
They don't know what's gonna happen. That's all, George. When

(27:29):
we come back from break, we're gonna talk about this
game's this week's games, and we're taking your scores. We're
gonna let you get in it. This week. It's e
Sports Radio seven thirty six. Anthony, you won some gift
cards and Ron tried it and he's a cat like you.
He tried to push over, but stay out of the
briars Bush Esworts Radio. I'll talk to you in a minute.
Welcome back to Eves Sports Radio seven thirty nine. And guys,

(27:53):
I was just sitting here watching that sixty four yard
field go by the Dallas Cowboys. George Wading Crazy week, George,
I mean it was some of the best games I've
ever seen. Honestly, I didn't a lot of mineral mistakes
by pro players, but there were some exciting football games
college and pro. You have to admit it. I mean,
kickoff returns out to kickoff returns and interception after interceptions

(28:15):
the Kansas City game. I mean, Kelsey all.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
Hits his hands.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
You know, God, George, Oh, everything happened this week. Everything
that could.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
Question if I could, when are they gonna move your boy,
the Eagle quarterback up into one of the top three
quarterbacks in the league. This hurts got to be one
of the smartest quarterbacks. Man. Where he hounds of interviews. Hew,
he runs the team, that team's plays. I mean, you know,
he just shows nothing but leadership everywhere you look at

(28:46):
the young man man, even how he comes to the
job there and the suit, the tie and the briefcase.
You know what I'm saying, Come on, we got we
got to show some respect. I do.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
I'm old school George. I love the way he represents himself.
I'm sorry I do without a doubt, George. He doesn't
show frustration. He doesn't get super high on the football field.
He stays even keeled. He goes to work. He's businesslike.
He doesn't get in the fray when they're talking about
when Brown, one of his wide receivers, is upset. He
doesn't get baited. He stays the course. He wins super Bowls.

(29:18):
He's been into Super Bowls. George. I don't get it, George,
but you're one hundred percent correct with there's no question
about that. So yes, and again great game. They defeated
Kansas City again last night, and a wonderful game. Just
some super games, George, super games. So here's the deal, George,

(29:40):
We're gonna go with you. I'm gonna get because everybody's waiting.
They want to know. Then they're going to handicap, and
then starting about Tuesday, somebody will step out there and
be first. And Wednesday, Thursday, it's crazy, Friday, it's nuts, George.
The first game, of course, is Indiana, first week at home.
Indiana has a qu the opponent, number nine, Illinois comes

(30:03):
in to play number twenty two Indiana. What's your score, George.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
Uh, I'm gonna say Illinois as twenty one fourteen.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Okay, gotcha, everyone knows. My first caller gets to call
the game. Now the game of the week. Second game
George Bowling Green at Louisvio.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Hmm, oh add the mac. Okay, yeah, I'm well, last school,
I gave you what twenty one fourteen? Mm hmm, all right, yeah,
I'm gonna go Louisville. Twenty eight twenty one.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Okay, gotcha. Bowling Green's not very good. But the Macia
Ohio played Ohio State well on Saturday. People don't know that.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Oh yeah, yeah, I forgot who I didn't remember yet.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
George did not, But that's okay, George. Louis was gonna
win soss Kentucky's gotta buy a week, George. So there's
no Cats. The next game is Florida at Miami. Just
rival game. Miami number five should beat them good, but
you never know what rivalry games. That's the third game.
Who you're taking, George, Florida at Miami.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Yeah, I'm gonna go up twenty one fourteen Florida.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
Really okay, you're taking the upset. Miami's the best team
in the a CEC by far. George.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
We don't Florida.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
We'll talk about poor Dabo. We're talking about Madame in
a second. We're gonna get to them. Not done with them. Okay, now, George.
Last game two ranked opponents number twenty four Auburn at Oklahoma.
Thirteen ranked Oklahoma.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Oh that's why I hate paying the games. Yeah, no,
I agree, yeah, yeah, thirty five seventeen who Oklahoma?

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Who Oklahoma's thirteenth in the country.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
Yes, I'm gonna take Oklahoma thirty five seventeen.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
I got you, George. Yes, I'm gonna give them an
out on Friday, but mine didn't count. But at least
we have them out there, George, this week is gonna
be hard for someone to go for. And oh, between
those three games, Louisville's a sure winers, Louisville will win.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
But the other doubt, no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Indiana Illinois wins. Yeah, well, George, this way it makes
it a lot more interesting. Florida Miami. I'm gonna pick Miami, George,
like you did. But Florida, if people just don't know,
I think Florida's gonna play them. I think Florida will
they try to compete with them. And then Auburn Oklahoma.
I have no idea. I've not seen Auburn yet. I've

(33:01):
got a research abrin But those are the four games
you all that we're picking this.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Week again of the past.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Okay, Bowling Green at Louisville, Florida at Miami, and Auburn
at Oklahoma are the four games this week for the contest.
And yes, there are a lot of people that were
seven to one coming into it. You know, Ron thinks
he's seven to one. There are a lot of people

(33:31):
that have had our seven to one. Well, I don't
know about this. I haven't added this week. So the
wait and seev George. This thing is gonna be competitive.
It's going to be really interesting to see who can
truly pick ball games. Go ahead, go ahead, we got time,
go ahead.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Yeah. Do you think that Louisville could place? Two mac
teams can come in here and just overlook, uh, Bowling Green.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
Now, we'll both be there, Georgia, and I can't see it.
Louisville they that bad?

Speaker 2 (34:00):
You don't think both and Green's that bad?

Speaker 1 (34:02):
Yes, they're just that bad. They're not Ohio, George, Ohio
now would be a different story than Ohio state Ohio's quality.
But no Bowling Green.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Seller dweller. Huh yes, seller.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
Dweller for a reason. Yes, So Louisville. I don't think
they play anybody until the Miami game the seventeenth of
next month, which I'm going to George Friday night. Okay,
that's their first Louisville's first real test, real tests. I
do think they've got Pittsburgh they're gonna play a conference
opponent after bowling Green, but I'm talking about true test
will be the Miami game.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Yeah, because I've been watching the A C C. Joe,
And I mean, when you think a team is really good,
like I thought Boston maybe it changed that you know
strikes and I watched them actually play college. Yeah, they
are who they are.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
They are who you thought they were. George's God, so
they are who we think they are. Ye, George, They're bad.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
And then you didn't stand But I thought they had
a little team and they look man.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Yes, No, I mean I was hoping the first week
the ACC fared will other than Clemson, and now we're
finding out. When Clemson lost LSU, We're like, okay, that
was LSU. I picked Lee Sterling George on Thursday. He
said that Georgia Tech would turn it over too much.
Everyone knows this. I said, Lee, you do this for

(35:26):
a living like you And I say, I don't know
how anybody picks games. But I told him I liked
Georgia Tech. On Thursday, I told him, I said I
like Georgia Tech. He said he does. See likes Haines Keen,
but he says he thought they would turn the ball over,
prone to turning the ball over, and they did not. Georgian,
we see what happened they Clemson is oh and two hmm.

(35:49):
Debo on hot sea, George, that's crazy to say, but
Devio maybe on the hot seat. George's get the break
when we come back. We gotta talk about Cutter Bowley
a little bit. University Kentucky's game. These Worts Radio seven
forty eight. The four games Illinois, Indiana at Indiana, Bowling,
Green at Louisville, Florida at Miami, Auburn at Oklahoma are

(36:12):
the four games this week. And yes there's no winner.
Jerry's came out on top stall the Briars Bush.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Anthony. It's all I can say.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Eastwarts Radio will be back in a minute. Welcome back
to ES Sports Radio. Got Lee, it's over seven point
fifty one. George Cutter Bowling, what do you think has
he earned the job? Twelve for twenty one two and
forty yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions, average eleven point four
average per catch. What do you think? George kats rode

(36:43):
strong like they should gave up a few to mee points.
That was the only issue. They gave up two many
points to me first downs. Their defense is better than that.
But Cutter played well.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
What do you think I played well enough? Jah, I
think he's been one of the better looking quarterbacks we've
seen a long time. He was, he was the players
seemed like they like to play for him. That's one
of the things I like to see is do the
players make that extra effort for a quarterback? And I
think they touched it in him and they made the
extra effort, And I think he's gonna somebody's gonna have
to beat himut Jay, I don't think nobody so far

(37:14):
as I played it.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
Excellent, George, I've already got my first calling, so we
got to bring him on. Get him. Brandon Brandon, Welcome
to Esports Radio. How are you, Jerry. I'm doing good man,
But you you I went four and oh and I
beat you in the briar bush.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
You trying to sabotage?

Speaker 1 (37:32):
What a mazy Hold up? Hold up, hold up, let
me see, hold up.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
Let's see remember I pointed the back of the outfield
and I hit the home run. Man, Brandon, where did
they get?

Speaker 1 (37:45):
I had you forty five to three over Indiana State. Yes,
you had Georgia twenty eight twenty. I took you under.
You have forty eight points. Yep, oh you did? You did?
You did? I'm being married.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
I think your concussion.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Twenty eight twenty you did win?

Speaker 2 (38:09):
You did, George?

Speaker 1 (38:12):
I have a winner of one hundred bucks. I didn't
know where. I haven't. I don't know why I put
it down in correctly. But you had Texas A and
M twenty eight Notre Dame twenty let me.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
I think I gave you a good little beating in
that Briar's bush. I understand you have a percussion.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
You did.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
I tosion.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
George. I have a concusion protocol. You beat me, and George,
I took the day under. God, you're the winner. That
everything is on tape, Shannon loads every show. I want
people to know there is no cheating on the esports radio.
Shannon loads everywhere. Yeh, I went and go back and listen,

(38:57):
just like I can't.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
I went back and I forgot my yes.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
No, but no, guys, I haven't written down properly. So
you know I have changed you. So there were two
people in four and oh you did when you beat me?
I took the under on yours and you had forty
eight points. So there we go. So George, we have
a winner.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
M hm oh yeah, good deal.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Yes, honey, Hey George, Hey George, George Williams, do me
a favor? Is George with us said? Do we lose?

Speaker 2 (39:30):
George?

Speaker 1 (39:31):
I lost, George. I'm going to George, loan me a hundred.
I will get it out. Leave your information. He's there, George,
I need a hundred. You loan it to me? Can
you loan it too?

Speaker 2 (39:45):
You know made my day. Brandon, I love. I'm not
gonna thank you. That's why you like that. And to
that ap, I told him I aim the back to
the outings that I was. He's gonna have to start
calling me the briar bush brawler. That's what he's gonna

(40:07):
have to start calling me. This week.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
I'm going to get you this week. I'm going to
get you. I have a winner.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
Though I have a winner, I don't like it talking Mark, Mark.
I don't like losing a new name.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
I don't like losing.

Speaker 2 (40:20):
I don't like you. The word on the loser. The
word on the street is Jerry's one hundred equals like
a million dollars.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
So I got to keep the that is the word
on the street. That's the right too. So you don't know.
I don't know how everybody in the city is not
calling in or emailing me. It's brand blocked, Jerry.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
The line is blocked. That's the only reason.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
The email, so you all know is j L. Eves
five five five at yahoo dot com. You can once
every other week. You can email me. You can call me.
But you were four and oh. So there were two
people this week that were four and oak and you
did beat me. Jesus, so you had to go back
and listen. So you went back and listen. I'm glad.

Speaker 2 (41:10):
Yeah, I didn't want to.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Yeah, you know, you could have called me and asked me.
I would have told.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
You you had take this in and how fast. I'm
glad the man came in. I like that. I like that.
Wait to go, Brandon, he ain't get the man tyn
of Doe. That's how we want to talk. Bet, I

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
