Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome back to EVE Sports Radio. September sixteenth, twenty twenty five.
It's Tuesday, another fantastic day outside. I went out and
got my newspaper, Yes I did, Yes, I still do
receive the newspaper from the Cury Journal. I understand that
it's old news, but it's a fantastic morning. That's all
(00:21):
I can tell people. Get out, get a little exercise
and she enjoy yourself. Push yourself. I'll make your employer happy.
You make yourself happy, make yourself some money, have a
productive day. Anyway, we got shedding behind the glasses.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
You will well known, best producer in the business.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Phone numbers five zero two five seven one seventy nine hundred.
That's five zero two, five seventy nine hundred. This is
Sports Talk seven ninety KRD. I think that's pretty much
the business that I had to get out of the way,
and we're gonna push through.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
I've got a co host. I don't even know if
I'm gonna bring him own.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
I don't even like the guy.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
I be announced with you and not bringing people I
do like. I don't even like the guy, but I
guess I have to bring him on.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
No, I don't we just might keep him on hole
chanting the whole show, and just let him know that
he's not running the show. His name is Scott bow
Wage and try to bring a little punk on.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Hey, Scotty, you're gonna you're gonna wake me up early
and then keep me on hold the show.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Well, Scotty, I used to do things to you as
your head coach too that you didn't like.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
We got up early. Then, Scott, we practice it in the.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Morning, way way too many times.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
All the time.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
I told people, want to understand what.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
I was gonna say. Luckily, I'm a morning person, so
I was.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Okay, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Well, Scott, we probably did it forever.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
I don't know out of the nine years, we probably
did it definitely seven or eight of the nine.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
But the kid when we would.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Try to change it back to say, hey, let's don't
get up in the morning, let's just meet three in
the afternoon, go three to six, they would tell the
hgl L coach, No, let's get this over with right
now so we don't have to see you all day.
People have no idea.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
The kids wanted to go in the morning.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
After they left us, like we're through with you all.
They had to do is get up in the morning perfect.
They missed nothing. So sixty nine sixty eight thirty was
a perfect the perfect practice time. So anyway, welcome back
to the show, Scott. Thanks for sitting in with me,
and that was a pleasure.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
We got a lot to get to.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Let me just tell you first and foremost, though, we
had a fantastic day. Tony Delk, Mike Vines, golf outing
and Big Springs went perfectly. It was a little warm,
Scott got a little warm yesterday, but it was nice
and a lot of players ran, took a lot of pictures,
spoke to a lot of people. Of course, I'm going
to get a few of the guys back on my
(02:54):
show that were there yesterday. But there's one person that
will be on next week. We haven't decided the day
I'm gonna talk to him.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
This morning is.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Probably one of my favorites, and it's the first time
that we got to sit down to just chit chat
after the golf outing yesterday. Probably one of the best
athletes' most explosive Kenny sky Walker will be on the
sports radio next week.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
And I mean Scott, that boy.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
With the Knicks and also with Wildcats, that boy was explosive,
So just talk about what Just think, guys.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
We had Wiley Brown, Milkwagger, myself, Herb Crook, Chris West,
Roger Burtman, and they had Kenny Skywalker who played a
little bit, Winston Bennett places a little bit, but Tony Dill,
I mean just there were so many hooks come on
my mind, as reed Shepherd. Who else was there for
(03:51):
Kentucky that I bumped into that.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I got a tense Rex Chapman, of course, come on,
my man, King Rex and I we're gonna we're gonna
chop it up again. He said, we can't wait. We're
gonna chop it up again too. Also, I had rerex
on when he put his publisher's book, So Rex. But
it was a great time. Raised a lot of money
for a lot of charities, a lot of schools, Tony
Delks Foundation.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
So it went really, really, really well. So it was
a good day. It really was a good day.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
One.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
I'm so glad you asked and I did not set
that up. You'all are all gonna say Jerry set it up. Scott.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
A Cardinal group. The Cardinal Group one, we had Kenny Payne,
he was our a player he could really play. Got
who else that could really put Scott didn't play bullying? Now, Scott,
I played pretty good, being honest, I had four pars,
got four pars, and I three putted eight times, which
is my strength. Now, if I went to three punted,
(04:50):
Scotty out to play really well.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Who else played really well?
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Hold on? Hold on? Three putting eight times is not
your strength.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Scotty's putty has been my strength this year golf. Sometimes, Scott,
I'm telling you, some of the greens were like putting
on wood. Some of the greens were like putting on asphalt.
And I mean, it was a perfect day, beautiful, But Scott,
the balls are stopping.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
I'm like, I couldn't get the ball.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
To the hole for a par for anything in the world, Scott,
I could not get the ball to the hole for par.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
I was leaving it halfway. It was embarrassing, frustrating.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Now a part of the last whole part five Scott
played it perfectly five point forty, had a birdie putt
about fifteen foot birdie putt, walked away with the easy part.
But I'm telling you, I just could not put it all.
I could not so But Scotty I've got the trophy upstairs.
Let me say this to you again, all Wildcat fans,
I got the troph don't try to break in the house.
(05:48):
I got alarm system. I have the trophy upstairs. I
have to bring the trophy back, Scott, Tony dunkin. I
ad the end. They say, winning team. Of course, I
had to collect the winning walk up, put my arm
around Tony Delk with a big smile. He had a
red shirt on. A donor said he had to wear
a red shirt and the donor would donate like ten
(06:08):
or fifteen thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Scott, So he.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Had a red shirt on.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
He was saying, but look, he says, it's embroidered in blue.
I said, I want to hear that. I said, We've
now got Tony Delk on the cardinal side.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
I have my arm around him and had I had
the trophy right in front of him.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Oh, Tony was hot. So next year.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
We're gonna run it back, Scott. We're gonna run it back.
It was really good. It was a really good event.
It really was. So it was Oh, Chris Redman can
really play day near two hundred thousand bucks.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeh, yes, exactly.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
And I mean, I think I'm doing great when I
can break that seventy thousand mark. They raised over two hundred,
so I don't know, I'm gonna have to do something.
But anyway, Scott, yes, it was a fantastic event and
everything went well.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
But trophy. I have the trophies.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
I just want all the Wildcats to know the Cardinals
own the trophy. Between Kenny and Redman. It's unfair and honestly,
Michael Bush wasn't there, but everyone knows Michael Bush is scratch,
the running back for Male High School. I went to
Louis Oh God played pro Oh. I mean, he's really good.
(07:21):
So anyway, the Wildcats went, that's all that matters.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Are they gonna move Are they gonna move to? Of
course in Lexington next year?
Speaker 1 (07:36):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
But is it going to be like the Ryder Cup
where you kind of go.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Back without it? We should do that. I know we're
going to run it back. We're definitely going to have another,
there's no question. I'm not sure the details, but that
was something that had been thrown out, which will be
a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
I mean, honestly, it was a lot of fun. I'm
telling you. So Milt and Wiley don't play, but they
were there the entire time.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
And this is facts. People. Wiley Brown pulls up on
me three times on the tea box driving. He said, Eves,
if I see any of the stuff I've seen out
these other players, I'm gonna whip you, I said, Brown,
don't even worry about it. Those days are over, Scotty.
He pulled up three times. He and Milk. I piped
it down the middle three times, at least two forty
(08:21):
every time he left out and said, I hate to say,
just like I hated to say.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
You can play basketball, you can't hit the golf ball.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
I said, yes I can. Wiley Brown, Yes I can,
and I did three times three for three.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Should know. Yeah, they should have stayed with you on
the green so you didn't three pot all those times.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
He Hey, Scotty, they were filming some Scott, and I
was piping it when they were filming it.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Oh yes, Scott, I said, I'm.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Ready for the PGA Tour. I just can't put. But Scott,
I did not freeze up when the cameras were there,
when people were watching, I did not freeze up.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
So I was happy about that, Scott. Now look here Scotty.
We've got a lot of sports to get to.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
We're gonna get to it first before we go to
our first break again. Yes, I was talking mass junk
to everyone, thinking that someone had got.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
In the Briar's bush, and I thought I did not have.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
To pay out. That is a lie. Brandon did beat me.
I had his scores written down properly. I did not
have to go back to I didn't have to go
to the monitor. I didn't brand it was Undavicent, correct,
I did not. So hondred dollar check was sent out yesterday.
So Brandon, check your mailbox. I'm not giving out your
last name because a lot of people will been trying
(09:37):
to raise your mailbox. But I did send out a
hundred dollar check for me sports radio. That's all I'm
saying to people. And again, guys called Billy Hayes, go
to Common of Dodge, go to a counting country. He sponsors.
He is the person that is sponsoring the contest the
five hundred bucks at the end of the year.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Again, Billy Hayes.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
The money that I just sent out, Hey, that's Billy
Hayes's money. So I want you all to know now,
Billy Hayes, you wouldn't be getting this easy money, so Scott,
I've paid out every week so far, which burns me up.
I usually win, Scott, I usually win, now you do,
but I lost. I do, so I'm zero for three
this week. So anyway, the games for this week are
(10:21):
Illinois IU really good game, Bowling Green at Louisville, Illinois
at IU, Bowling Green at Louisville, Florida at Miami. Miami's
going to beat the brakes off of them. We'll have
to see those, Scott, and Auburn at Oklahoma number twenty four,
Auburn at number thirteen Oklahoma. Kentucky has a bye week.
(10:44):
Those are the four games. So Scott, we're at seven sixteen.
We're gonna get the break. You can start to call in,
get your scores in, guys. Everybody loves the rushing at
the end. I don't know why first caller gets to
dictate which game is the key game. And we're gonna
go from there. So Scott, let's get the break. Let's
pasing bills seven to seventeen. When we come back, we're
(11:07):
gonna jump into the show. You're gonna talk a little
bit about Major League baseball. I'm not I'm not gonna
say anything about Cincinnati Rids with twelve games to go,
I'm keeping them out of my mouth.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
East Sworts Radio will talk to you all after the break.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Welcome back to Eastports Radio seven. It's time to get moving,
It's time to get up. Beautiful day Tuesday. We're not
a hum day yet, but we're moving in that direction.
Welcome back.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
I've got Scott Bolwage on the other line again.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Scottie, I'm throwing it to you national news and what's
going on with these baseball playoffs?
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Man, they are heating up. You're the team, the team
that you can't say and can't talk about. Are two
games out the Cincinnati res it one last night eleven
to six. So the two games behind the Mets, and
the Mets are are kind of struggling. They're limping of
the playoffs, struggling, struggling. They you know, they're for the
(12:05):
money that they have invested in that team. They should
not be in this position. But you know, yeah, you know,
Tyler Stevenson had a big game last night. South Stewart
another player who played really well. And you know the
(12:25):
big thing with them is their bullpen and their pitching.
You know, they can get consistent with their bullpen and pitching.
You know, their their starters, I'm sorry, their starters in
their bullpen, then you know they'll be in much much
better shape. But they're they're getting there. You know, there's
twelve games left in the regular season, only two games out,
(12:45):
so you know, as long as they can keep that
momentum moving in the right direction, they're doing well. Looking
at at some predictions here and the chances of them
making it, you know, you go online and they have
like the betting odds of if they're going to make
the playoffs, and right now they're you know, some have
(13:07):
them at seventeen percent chance of making the playoffs. But
then there's a thing that says, if Jerry Eaves continues
to talk about the Reds, they only have a yah
of making a playoffs.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
I'm keeping them out of my mouth. I'm just following
every game. Scot that's all come on, ready, you know,
that's all.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
I can see.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Would it be great, you know, to make the playoffs?
Oh my goodness, the playoffs. That would be unbelievable, It
really would, Scott. No, your managing come on.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
No, he does a really good job too.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Yes, Coach Beer told me about it. You got a
true manager, a really good managerself, and.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
You can see it.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
So anyway, we just have to wait and see great
young talent.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Everyone's going to say they're not going to keep the talent, Jerry,
So I'm not gonna say anything.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Red fans make me mad, so I'm gonna leave it alone,
you know what.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Twelve mm hm, Except and the Raids are still in
the playoff fie.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
That's all I'm gonna say.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
That's great, and that's all that's all you can ask for. Obviously,
you know, clinching a playoff birth already like the the
Brewers have done and the Phillies dead last night would
be great. But the fact that you're still you're still
alive and like you have a legitimate chance to make
the playoffs two games with twelve games to go, it
(14:41):
adds a lot of excitement to whichever baseball city it is,
and it, you know, keeps hope alive for everybody. You know,
So as long as you're you're not out and you're
still in it, you know, you there is still some excitement.
Guys are still playing hard.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
And oh yeah, there are lots of giants are seventy
five and seven five, Scott red seventy five, seventy five,
Diamondbacks seventy six, seventy five, one and a half out,
and then of course those sorry Mets seventy seven and
seventy three. So sitting in that wild card position. So yep, no, Scott, Yeah,
baseball is alive. And well I do like watching the
(15:17):
baseball's playoffs, Scott. They're unbelievable watching those pictures trying to
get the batter's out.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Top of the ninth, yeah, oh, Scott, bottom of the ninth,
two outs down one people on second and third, come on,
people standing up the entire the entire game, they're standing up.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Yeah, Scott, it's it's almost here. October is almost here.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
No, Reggie Jackson, but close.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
I'm going to tell you that the Phillies they picked
up a new relief picture a couple maybe about a
month ago or so. And you know, nowadays with technology
everything they have, everybody now has you know, every player
has walk up music, and now you know, relief pictures
(16:06):
have like walk in music when they come from the bullpen.
And this guy, I'm going to send you the video.
It is outrageous, like his his watch.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Everybody's got that theme music.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
It's theme music.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Everybody has it. Yeah, everyone.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Right, Johan Duran like, I'm going to send you this
video and you're talking and and thank thankfully with technology,
like you can drop the lights in the stadium and
they come right back on, you know, not not like
those old gym lights that would take thirty minutes to
turn back on if you turn them off. But he like,
the whole place goes black, everybody gets their phones out,
(16:52):
and you know, it's just it's an incredible thing to watch,
a really really big pickup.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Gotcha. Well, anyway, I'm gonna watch guy.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
I definitely will. Here's the deal, Scott seven to twenty six.
College football is off and running, so we've got a
chance to start to evaluate Scott. What's going on throughout
college football. So your opinion, New AP's out the Big
Ten rules the roost with one and two back to
(17:28):
back weeks. How do you feel the SEC almost has
the entire conference in the top twenty five. I think
I counted eleven. I could have been shy one, but Scott,
they almost have every team in the top twenty five.
And then we've got the ACC three teams Miami at
four to to State six, Georgia Tech at eighteen. But Clemson,
(17:55):
the top dog is gone nowhere to be found. What
do you think how does that play out for the
ACC when everyone thought Clemson was a surefire top four
team of the.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Well, uh, you can find Clemson. You just have to
go all the way down to the bottom of the
rankings of the ACC.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Exactly there last one won one and two. They're behind
Boston College boy debo, how far have you fallen? I'll
tell you what it's got.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Man, that's tough. That's tough watching that because you know what,
and like Dabbo is a good personality, like he seems
like a good coach, good guy, but just I just
can't get it done right now. And you know you
have those coaches, Yeah, you have those coaches that have
(18:54):
a great run and make a great run in short
for a short period of time throughout their coaching career.
And now you know, we talked about it, it's tough
to stay on top. Like it's so hard, well, from
from players and coaches to stay as being one of
those top tier guys.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Well, he went from the white house to the outhouse
I know that they're upset him and Clemson. That's in fact, Scott,
we got a first call seven. Let's get him on.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Greg, Welcome to the sports radio. Are you.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Don good?
Speaker 4 (19:29):
How you guys do.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Great? Greg?
Speaker 2 (19:31):
We're just trying to hang in here. How are you?
Speaker 4 (19:34):
I'm doing good? I gotta say, man, I was proud.
My volunteers came up short, but they showed hard, and
I'm proud of the man. I think they're gonna be
a hard team to be.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
I think what I mean, George is really good. But
that penalty, boy, they put a lot of pressure on
the kicker. I watched the entire game. I picked Tennessee.
I went with you. I picked Tennessee and they had
their chance. They played them tooth and nail, But oh
my gosh, I just don't know if I would have
(20:05):
tried to l all the way down. A lot of
people don't understand how football. When you're in range, Greg,
you don't have to wait till fourth down to kick it.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
You can kick it third down.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
You can kick it in second So if you fumble it,
you don't have to do anything crazy.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
The have to do is fall on the ball. You
can get another play.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
I don't get.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Everyone trying to take it to the fourth down and
run the clock all the way out to kick it.
I just don't.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
But hard fault game.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
You know what I thought. I thought a turning point
when they got the fumble and they were up thirty
five to thirty, he got conservative passed it. They've been
going downfield all they keep doing what's working and score
a touchdown and go up twelve instead of the game's over.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Well, you know what I do understand that as a coach,
you if you would have passed the ball got two incompletions,
they would have crucified you the next day saying.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
That I should run the ball.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
You know you can't.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
That's one you just can't win on.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
You can't. I think hype a good job of this team.
Who just I mean George's are Kirby's smarts really good?
But let's get with it.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
I got your own seven thirty. Let's be the first one.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Who are we going with it?
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Which is the game.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Of the week, louis look hard? All right, let's go
Louisville bowling.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Green out of thirty eight?
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Yeah, why do you pick question? Right? Here's the question
that's the only route. I got three great games that
are hard to pick. Louisville game every it's going to
be forty five, six, thirty eight, ten.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Why do you pick louis Don't you think you should
pick one?
Speaker 1 (21:50):
What I do?
Speaker 4 (21:50):
I think I pick game. Man, we'll go off all
the game.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
I'm just telling you it's it's more difficult for everybody.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
I know you're not a Louisville fan.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
That's not the question.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
It's just out of the.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Four games I have, it's the least competitive. Louisville's gonna
beat the braks off.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Of the Curio's you.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Oh yeah, So that's why I'd said that, because everybody
will be picking Scotty. It'll be sixty to seven.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
And it'll be fifty three, and you know.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
That's not so Yeah. Let's let's go Oklahoo.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
I like that. Oklahoma Auburn. Let's take that's the game.
What's your score?
Speaker 4 (22:28):
Oklahoma twenty eight, Auburn twenty one?
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Oh gotcha? And I want people to know ninety half
percent of the time, I'll let you pick them.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
But out of my four games, I want people to
listen to me.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Now, Illinois, Indiana ranked opponents, Florida, Miami, huge rivalry. Miami's
ranked at Miami's gonna be packed Auburn Oklahoma twenty one,
both teams ranked. That's the only reason, guys, I just
you know, the Louisville game is gonna be fifty five
to three. I mean it is, and it's just not
a good game. So okay, let's go to Louisville Bolden Green.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
What you score?
Speaker 4 (23:07):
Thirty eight?
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Ten? Okay, Louis Louisville man thirty eight at half time?
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Illinois, I you, I'll say, Illinois, I you is gonna
be twenty eight, twenty four in Indiana.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Okay, twenty eight, So you're picking up set twenty four,
you're picking upset.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
I just want you to know that Illinois ranked nine.
You do know that, right?
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (23:36):
Right, No, Illinois would be illinoy would be about that
that team in answer, See that's roight.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
No, no, no, you may be right about that.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Just being honest with you, Yeah, you may be said
correct with that. Florida. Miami. Florida's struggling. We know their
coach is on a hot hot seat. What's gonna happen Miami.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
Is Miami's rowing. I think Miami's gonna win the game.
But I think it's gonna be close, and everybody thinks
because it's a rivalry. So I'm gonna say that it's
gonna be thirty one to twenty four. Gotcha, Miami.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
I've got you down.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Greg. What were you last week? You need me to
tell you? You know what You're total? I was what
you did last week?
Speaker 4 (24:25):
I was two and two, I believe.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Let me see. Yes, you were two and two. You
had Indiana winning, you had Tennessee winning, they lost. You
had Kentucky winning, they won. You had Notre Dame winning,
they lost.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
You were too in two. You're exactly correct, Greg, I
got you down.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Brother.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
I'm gonna get to my second break.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Jump in the burn jump, getting in the burn pass
with you.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Oh no, let's go because most people I've been doubling
up my money. You see him, I'm hesitanting, I'm shell shocked. Okay,
oh man, oh man.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
See this is a good game.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Oklahoma's ring thirteen Scott Auburn twenty fourth. I have not
watched Auburn this year, but I have seen Oklahoma.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
I'm going with you pretty good.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
I like that, but I'm going with the under. I'm
going twenty seven, twenty one Oklahoma. I took the under.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
You just lost that one. I'll see you next week.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
See you next week. Thanks brother, But how let's get
to break. We know our game of the week is
Auburn Oklahoma? Is it Eve Sports Radio seven thirty five.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
We'll talk to you in a minute. Welcome back to.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
EVE Sports Radio seven thirty eight. It only takes one. Scott,
we've got last week's winner. I believe on the line
with me. We're gonna get to him in the second.
Stay with me, Brandon, Yes, you did win one hundred,
crisp hundred. I can't believe that. My wife said if
I give another one away, she's gonna put me in
the doghouse.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
I'm like, thank god, we don't have any dogs.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
So anyway, welcome back Game Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Rufus is gone fifteen years. We had little Rufus, no
more dogs, so I don't have to worry about the
dog house.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
I'm surprised they didn't sneak another one.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
In, Scott. Don't say that, because between Sheila and Ashley
they will don't do that.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Don't say that. So now, Scott, here's what we have.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
You've got the SEC eleven teams, but we again have
the Big ten at the top. The big Kim's won
the last two college football playoffs. Okay, Ohio State, Penn State.
Until James Franklin wins a big one. I'm hesitant his
teams are always good. Don't anyone ever say that. I
did not say they're always a top ten team. They
(26:44):
just don't win the big one. Okay, Ohi'll safe. We
understand they know how to get it done, got it
done last year. But after that, you've got Oregon. I
like Oregon. So three of the top four Big ten.
Then after that Miami five, Georgia, Texas. Excuse me, the
new one is While State, Penn State, LSU four is Miami,
(27:08):
five is Georgia, six is Oregon. So we see the
two leagues that are running ruling the roost and check
this out, Scott, it surprised me. Someone just informed me
that Indiana is a five and a half point favorite.
Everyone knows. If I don't have my guys tell me,
I have a few people that help me. If they
don't tell me, I don't know anything about the betting Lin, Scott,
(27:29):
whatever's in the Curier Journal I go with.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
But that surprises me. Don't you think aren't you surprised?
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Illinois's ranked in the top ten and they're five and
a half point underdogs.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
It's not surprising just because Indiana's playing at home. If
it were the other way around, if Illinois were the
home team, then I'm sure Illinois would be the favorite.
But they're probably looking at that home field advantage. And
I know, you know, they've done a great at Indiana
these past couple of years, and you know it's a
(28:04):
tough place to play now, so that that doesn't surprise
me that, I mean, five and a half is a
little bit high.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
That's I mean, it just surprised and really surprised him.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
One touchdown favorite. Yeah, that's the one. Basically a one
touchdown favorite.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
I think it'll be very hard for someone to be
four in oh Scott this week's games. It's gonna be
very hard. So let's get to Brandon, my last week's winner. Brandon,
how are you welcome to the show.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
I'm done?
Speaker 3 (28:34):
Good day about yourself?
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Good.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
You don't have your check yet. I just sent it
out yesterday.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Dang a man, I appreciate that.
Speaker 5 (28:43):
Before you even asked, yes, I know my record. I
was four and.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
You were.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
I wrote you down for you.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
With Scott, I was like I was a peacock Scott
at my feather spread, I was the man. And then
brand they had to call in and sit. Yeah, I
just wouldn't verified. And I want everyone to know. You
can check, you can go back. Everything is loaded, you
can listen. There is no hanky panky here. So, yes,
(29:13):
you're the winner. You got one hundred dollars a hot
hondo coming. So all I can tell is that Scott,
you better catch that check fast.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
No, it's not true.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
For Jerry's fine, he will put a date on that check.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
Oh but I may.
Speaker 5 (29:29):
I might fly out to Vegas. I may fly out
to Vegas and take it to Pond Stars and see
how much they get.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Me for Jerry's money.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
You're crazy. Let's get with it.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Let's get with it.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
The game is Auburn, Oklahoma. What's your score?
Speaker 3 (29:48):
I love Oklahoma.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
Here, let's go thirty one to twenty Oklahoma.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
Are you getting back and the bush? You've already got
fifty extra You're gonna gamble with here or not?
Speaker 5 (30:00):
Come on, man, I'm the I'm the brawler.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
You know I'm getting in there.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
The question is do you have a permission slip to
get back in there with me.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Again.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Hey, if I lose again, my wife might not give
me one. I like the permission slip. Yeah, guys, let
me take that.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
So bad, listen to you. I was bad.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
I want you to understand I was bad.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
And I want you to know that when I got caught,
my dad dealt with me. I don't want you try
to think my dad was soft. He was not five
foot seven, and I mean he dealt with me, no question.
You don't know something so bad. I had my mom
right there for submission slip, Scott. I would keep that
some of the buck.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
And if mother put a date at the top, I
cut the top off. And I use it for other
things too. So you said permission slip. It just brought
back good.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
I was bad.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
I mean, it is what it is.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
I'm sorry I got I found a way to be bad.
I was creative with being bad. But it is what
it is. So that's all. Like my dad said, who
ate the last piece of cake? All five of us
are lined up, my three brothers and my two sisters.
Everybody's like I didn't do it. I didn't do it.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
Here I am the last one. I didn't do it
had crumbs all around my mouth. How the world's dumbest criminal.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
That's all. But anyway, you're consistentuse you're bad at picking
football games too, so you're consistent.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
I'll give you that.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
That's not funny, man.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
I'm taking the under. I'm taking the oder. Okay, let's
go to Louis bo Bowling Green.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
Let's go lull going a route forty.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Okay, let's go Illinois at Indiana. Indiana's five and that
point favorites surprised me.
Speaker 5 (31:55):
That's gonna be a good game.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
Gosh, I you at home both. I don't believe in Indiana.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
I just don't believe in Illinois. I've never known illinoid
have a good football team. Did Dick bunks for the
Illinois guys? Did Dick Buckets go the Illinois scot didn't
he Dick Buckins? Did he play at Illinois? Didn't play
for the Bear question? I'm not sure. But anyway, I
don't know them having a good football team ever. But
(32:22):
the last year and a half they've been decent. So
what's your score.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
I'm gonna take Indiana. I'm gonna take them. Let's go
twenty seven to twenty five.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Okay, Indiana twenty seven, Illinois twenty five.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Last game, Florida at Miami. Miami's really good.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
I think that's gonna be a close game. I'm like
the last color. I think it's gonna be a close game.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
But I gotta go with Miami, and I'm gonna go
thirty one to twenty eight.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Okay, you were good.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
I took the underbrawler, will soon slip all Monday. I
love you, man, God bless you man. Scott Scott, I
was bad, Scott. I'd cut the date off. You give
it to him, Scott, they'd see it.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
I keep it. I just handed till they read it.
Sometimes they'd hand it back. Sometimes they wouldn't.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
But if those teachers gave me that permission slip back, Scott, Oh,
I was creative.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
I like field trip, Scott. I like field trips.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Hey, I'm sure that permission slipped in it get you
out of that butt whoop and that your dad gave you.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Didn't they found out. I knew what was coming.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
So, Scott, what do you think now that Clemson has slipped?
Acc has three teams. I did pick Georgia Tech with
Lee Sterling on Lee Sterling picked Clemson, he said, that
Georgia Tech would have to be turnovers. I said, Haines
King was pretty good, So I'm gonna tell me about that.
On Thursday, I picked Georgia Tech. So, Scott, now that
(34:03):
Clemson's gone and Notre Dame's gone, what do you think
is it change the dynamics some college football playoffs this year?
Speaker 3 (34:15):
It definitely opens things up for other teams, for sure.
I mean you talk about just the acc and the
high expectations that Clemson had, and Miami had high expectations
as well, but nobody. I don't think anybody was expecting
Florida State to be ranked number seven right now. I
(34:40):
agree with that, and you know, so you know, for
for them, that door has opened tremendously for Florida State, and.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
You know it has, and it doesn't it sets up
really favorable for Louisville. I mean, as you just got Louisville,
I think my opinion will be Virginia and Pitt.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
Okay, after bolleto.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
Virginia and then they've got they've got Pitt, Yeah, got.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Me, Pitt's on the road that Denis at home.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
I think they got a great possibility to be in
five and oh going to Miami. I'm going to that
game that will find out what Louisville has. But that's
the game that will indicate I think where Louisville stands.
I think Louisville could be a top twenty five team.
Played really poorly when the last outings got really poorly,
give up too many points.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
They've got a key linebacker that's out.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
But I just think that's gonna be a great game
for University of Louisville and it's fan base. See where
Louisville stands with breaking that top twenty five. So Scott,
we had some forty eight. I got another call in
this game on before.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
We get to break, Steve, Welcome to the show.
Speaker 6 (35:50):
How are you morning, Jerry and Scott?
Speaker 2 (35:54):
Good morning?
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Going on?
Speaker 2 (35:55):
See what's the same going on?
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Taking my money, Steve, they're taking my money, that's one thing, Steve.
Don't laugh.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
I don't like I like winning, Steve, but they're.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
Taking my mind.
Speaker 6 (36:08):
You do you tight? Man?
Speaker 1 (36:10):
The main I'm tight. But the main game is Alburn Oklahoma,
A really good game. I think that's gonna be. There
are three games that are hard to pick this week.
This may be like Week one. This is gonna be
very hard for anybody to be four and oh, what's
your score?
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Oklahoma Albury.
Speaker 6 (36:29):
I like Oklahoma to win twenty eight to twenty three.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Okay, I've got two. Okay, gotcha. Everybody's in that ballpark.
I've got twenty eight twenty one. I've got thirty one twenty.
I've got twenty eight twenty three. Got you.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
Louisville Bowling Green, that's a round, Steve, come.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
On, yeah, fifty ten.
Speaker 6 (36:51):
I like got like low d wind course forty two
to seven.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
They'll score more then. But you're right, I mean, bully
Green's just down Illinois. I you Illinois?
Speaker 1 (37:06):
Are you?
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Are you right for that point?
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (37:10):
Their favorite. I like Indiana win twenty eight to twenty five.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
Everybody's gone right now with Indiana. No one's picked Illinois.
They're ranked nine.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
Interesting.
Speaker 6 (37:25):
I've seen you always play. I wasn't very impressed with them.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
Okay, I haven't seen them. See I'm glad you told me.
I have not watched them. I have not watched Auburn.
So those are two teams I've not seen play this year.
Florida Miami.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
I've seen both teams play.
Speaker 6 (37:40):
Okay, I like Miami to win twenty eight to twenty.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Gotcha, okay, I got you down, Steve, and you know
what your record was.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
I don't have to tell you. I know you know
what your record was. So let me find you. Let
me find you before I get to break Steve.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
You were three one.
Speaker 6 (37:57):
I lost the Lower Dame game.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
A game thirty twenty four. I got your brother by guys, okay,
seven fifty Thank you. See Eastwarts Radio.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
Will talk to you all in a minute, see you,
Ray Scott seven fifty three. How quickly it goes? I
got one more caller. I've got to get in, Scott.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
I mean, I get my permission, slip Sheila, Welcome to
the show. How are you?
Speaker 7 (38:22):
I'm doing good? How are you?
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Yep?
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Do I get my permission? I leave the house? Yes?
How you five years?
Speaker 5 (38:32):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (38:32):
So you ready?
Speaker 2 (38:33):
You want to get your scores in? Let's get these
scores in.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
Yes. Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Auburn, Oklahoma, Alburn.
Speaker 7 (38:41):
Okay, I'm gonna go with Oklahoma twenty eight twenty one?
Speaker 2 (38:48):
What forty eight, guys? Just forty eight twenty one?
Speaker 7 (38:51):
I said twenty I said twenty eight twenty one.
Speaker 1 (38:54):
Okay, let's see no one has said you're okay great
twenty eight twenty one.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Got you Louisville Bowling Green.
Speaker 7 (39:03):
Uh oh, I'm gonna say, mm, twenty eight to.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Seven, We'll have twenty eight at halftime.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
That's okay, you got them winning Indiana Illinois at Indiana.
Speaker 7 (39:28):
I'm gonna go with Uh, well, I'm gonna go with Illinois.
I guess I'm gonna say, oh, that's gonna be probably
a good game. I'm gonna say thirty one twenty one Illinois.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
Okay, you're the first person to pick Illinois. You may
have a legitimate chance. Everyone else is taking IU. Florida
at my end.
Speaker 7 (39:58):
Oh gosh, I don't know anything about this. Florida and Miami.
I'm gonna go with Miami. Twenty women in twenty I'm
not whe in the twenties twenty eight two. Can I
go with twenty eight twenty one again?
Speaker 2 (40:15):
Yes, that's fine.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
You've got it. Everybody's got I've got you and baby
love you have today.
Speaker 5 (40:23):
Thank you, by bye brother.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
Here's the deal, Scott Scotty, everybody with this Auburn Oklahoma game.
I've got twenty one twenty eight, I've got thirty one twenty,
I've got twenty eight twenty three. I've got twenty eight
twenty one.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
Boy, people love that score.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
I guess I have no idea what the old runner is,
but it's got to be somewhere around there.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
And I guess she was listening to people, so she
went with the old lunder too.
Speaker 1 (40:50):
The deal is this, though, that's the first person to
take Illinois. It's gonna be the upset Scott that wins this.
That's all there is to it. There's gonna be an
up in those three games.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
Coach. My question is if if Shila does win, will
you put her check in the.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
Mail man, I'll save the stay of Scott he I
handed to her.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
You're just lucky yours is in the mail Scott.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
That's all. So Scotty's seven real quick.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
Tomorrow the over under the over under for the Oklahoma
Auburn is forty nine and a half on ESPN.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
Okay, okay, well there we go.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
That's about right.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
That's about right.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
So tomorrow I'm gonna ask you, truly, I want people
to think about it. Is Archie Manning a bust so far?
Or does he have a chance to develop? Is the
sports radio have a great day. I love you all,
Bye bout
