Speaker 1 (00:00):
And welcome back to sports Radio. Phone numbers five zero two,
five seven one seventy nine hundred. That's Sports Talk seven
ninety KRD. We've got Shannon behind the glass. Appreciate you
Shan for getting in. And we've got the one and
only Scott Bulwah on the other line. Scott, how are you.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
I'm doing great? How are you?
Speaker 1 (00:20):
You know?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Coach?
Speaker 3 (00:21):
You talk about rain. It's rained so much down here
in South Florida these past couple of days. I went
out on Sunday. We just had to get out of
the house, and we decided to go out and play
a little mini golf, little indoor mini golf, and they
are parts of this area that floods so bad and
cars try to get through there, and just the average
(00:45):
sedan there's I think we counted about four cars that
didn't make it through.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Because people just.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Say, you know what, we're gonna We're gonna try it
and didn't go. Doesn't go from My girlfriend wanted to
get out. She's like, go out and help them. I'm like,
there's nothing I can do over there. I'm not mad
for the guy, but there's nothing I could have done.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
No, just stuck with them. That's all. It sucks. No, No,
you're Hunderson correct. We need the rain, Scout. I saw
theres to it. I hate to hear about people in
their cars, but I'm not feeling sorry for you living
in South Florida, Scott. I'm just not winners coming here.
I'm not feeling sorry for you all. As you well know.
(01:33):
My cousin lives there Miami Gardens right around from the
football stadium, and I'm not feeling sorry for you guys.
I'm just not so we can carry on from that's about.
I'm not feeling sorry for you, Scott. It's all there
is to it. They always say sunny South Florida. That's
what I hear. So anyway, boy, do we have news.
(01:54):
I mean, there's always something going on in sports, but
there's definitely things going on in sports.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Now.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
We have got, can we even say it, Bruce Pearl news,
his son's taking a job, which we'll get to. We've
got national news, which you're gonna get to. I've got
my high school games that I didn't touch yesterday that
I have to touch. Yes, my ballad Bruins played pretty
well right at the ship, Scott played well, so I'm
happy about that. But we didn't touch high school sports
(02:20):
at all yesterday. George and I didn't, so we were
so busy. We've got Kentucky and Louisville quality football games
this week coming up. I mean, we've got a lot
of things. We've got Devil Sweeney, Devil who it's getting
ugly at Death Alley, that's all. So we got a
lot to get to Scott, a lot, so you know,
(02:41):
at first, let's do this. Scott, I didn't know when
is the appropriate time to touch the Bruce Pearl saga.
It's just I don't know when is the appropriate time.
So I'm just gonna start it right off the bat
because it's the biggest news. Then we'll go in to
all the fun things. But it's huge news. Bruce Pearl
(03:04):
stepping down this late in the year. Scott and they
got a fantastic job. Interesting timing, fantastic job. It's always
been a very good coach got as you well know.
People don't, but we're going to tell them. We played
the Paul at North Carolina and Tea and we defeated
the Paul, which was the biggest Big East opponent. That
(03:27):
was one of our bigger wins. We had already beaten
SMU and a few other Power five teams, but we
were starting to play pretty well. Went to Chicago and
defeated to Paul and our very next game on the
dock it was Tennessee. Of course, Bruce Pearl was the
coach at Tennessee, and we went into Tennessee and we thought, Scott,
(03:49):
we thought we were going to get We sure did.
Speaker 5 (03:52):
We thought we were going to go back to back
beat the Paul Big East beat Tennessee in the SEC
and maybe was pretty good, Scott.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
I think they may have. They may have been number
one at the time.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Yes, they were ranked really highly. And if you remember
before the game, Bruce Burrow said, you got an interesting team.
You like to press like we do. You like to
shoot threes like we do. You like to do things
like we do. I say, coach, it's just not the same.
I don't have the same gyms. But we had a
good time. But Bruce beat us pretty good. But we
did play Bruce.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Uh, I'm going to tell you a funny story. And
I don't know if I ever said this. I'm sure
I said this, but there was a time in that
game when Robert Johnson was taking the ball out right
in front of our bench, and I got off the
bench and I whispered something in Roberts here, and they
have They had a six foot nine athletic forward on
(04:50):
the ball making it hard for our guys to get
the ball and bounce.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
So the big light, skin light skin kid that was
their center, Scott Athletic.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Yeah, yes, yep, So you know Roberts standing there on
the sideline. I go to whisper or something in his ear,
and that guy looks at me and he said, coach,
that ain't gonna.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Help you right now.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
He did. Guy, I do remember that, I do. They
beat us good, Scott.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
We got paid, so we.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Went for the money. We took the money, and yes
we did play. Bruce Proban. I just want to kind
of give people a picture because there's a lot of
things out there swirling and let's just get to it. Guys.
We understand what happened with Charlie Cris last week. We
know the memorial Sunday. Again. I want everyone to understand
everyone can have an opinion, period. Like my dad said,
(05:45):
everyone can have an opinion, okay, and dogs don't bark
at park cars. Let me say that to you all. Again,
dogs do not bark at park cars either in your opinion.
In the car is moving in the right direction of
the dog of bark, the car can be moving, in
somebody's opinion, in the wrong direction. The dog's going to bark.
(06:08):
I just want you to understand that the dog doesn't
care which direction is going. It's just its movement, and
the dog is going to activate some opinions. Are people
are going to say, Charlie Chris is moving the car
in the right direction. Some people's opinion's going to say,
Charlie Chris moving in the wrong direction. Got me. Everybody
(06:28):
has an opinion. But Bruce Pearl made a statement last
week and he spoke about Charlie Christ and his opinion,
and he also threw in the religious peace into it,
and there was pushback. People aren't saying it, and his
retirement didn't say it, but there was pushback. So I
(06:50):
just want to say to the facts, like I do
on my show, I'm not frightened of situations. I'm not
frightened of dialogue. I'm not frightened of content. You know,
when people say things, words have meanings, period, point blank.
Words have meanings. We all understand that, we all have
to be conscious about what we say when we're on
(07:11):
the radio, when we're talking to people. That's why, Scott,
you don't know it, but I call a lot of
shows propaganda because they won't tell the truth. They're just
going to push whatever stance they're with, whatever university they're with,
they're going to push it. They don't have enough moral
compass to say no for whoever it is, whoever it is,
or whatever it is, So it's called propaganda in my opinion.
(07:36):
They're going to stay on one side or the other.
They're not going to look at things through clear glasses.
But these are the things I want my listeners to
know when we're talking about the Bruce Pearl saga, because
I've told you all had nothing to do with Charlie
Chris that I'm not a Bruce pro fan. You all
know that from my show I've been on eleven years,
(07:56):
and I've teld people why. But i want to express
to people why I'm not a huge boost pro fan.
Got me the assistant coach at IOWA turns in another
assistant coach at another university for supposedly cheating and recruiting. Okay,
kudos for that. I'm gonna say kudos for that at
(08:17):
IOWA back in the nineties. She got me. Guys, I'm
gonna say kudos. Okay, we all know Scott. We've been
in this business our entire lives. We don't play with
bricks and glass houses because a lot of people aren't
doing it the right way. One of those people just
wasn't me. I'm just speaking for myself. Scott is my assistant.
(08:38):
I'll take a lot of detective tests. I didn't care
about anything. I gave nobody a dime. I promised nothing
to anyone. I did not even Thomas Coleman, my best
player Jaytown High School. That boy was a stud. He
took that visit to Marshall Scott. I said, we're not
gonna get him. O Scott, we can't get that kid.
His mother called me back. Jackie said, coach, when you're
(09:00):
going to send the papers. I couldn't believe it. But
I did not cheat a recruiting I did not. I
did not cheat for Butcher Beard. I did not cheat
for Denny Crump. I did not cheat a recruiting period,
point in blank. So I don't live in a glasshouse.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
I didn't.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
But Bruce Brok turned in another university, and I okay, kudos.
Let's continue with this. Now he's the head coach at Milwaukee.
He's fired as the head coach at Milwaukee. Got me
line to NC double A investigators about recruiting violations. The
(09:36):
guy that turned in the coach when he was an
assistant coach got fired at Milwaukee for line. Let me
read this to you to the NC double A investigators
about recruiting violations. Got me okay, good deal, Let's move on.
Goes to Southern Indiana. It's another opportunity. It's a great deal.
It's another opportunity. You know, most coaches just giving it
(09:58):
to y'all straight. Don't get another opportunity when you co cheating. Okay,
it's another opportunity to go. Southern Indiana wins the National
Championship D two. He's a good coach, got me. He
leaves there. Next thing, you know, University of Tennessee where
we play in Scott Well. University of Tennessee, Scott fired
(10:21):
in twenty eleven. What cheating again? Recruiting violations with the
NC double A. Cheating again. I just want you all
to understand now, cheating again. We're gonna work our way
back to the statement and the religious beliefs and all
the great things we all got. Religious reliefs, I'm telling you,
(10:41):
but cheating again, and a business where cheating helps you all.
If you don't know it, if you get better players
because you cheat, you're gonna be a better coach. I'm sorry.
Maybe you didn't get the memo. Okay, fired again. Next
thing we know, load and behold him. So he he says,
I can't believe the University of Auburn is giving me
(11:03):
another chance in his press conference. Okay, Oh well, he's
just a great coach at University of Auburn. Jerry wrong.
Do you all remember the Chuck persons saga again? Staff
members doing inappropriate things on his staff? Cheating again? Auburn
(11:24):
just came off of a four year probation. Understand you
all just came off of a four year probation. Again,
just so we all understand the facts. Great coach, yes
to Auburn and final fours, yes, no question. But does
he go by the rules? No? He does not, period
(11:46):
point blank like him hating. These are facts people don't like.
Fight so Scott, they get me in trouble, but I
just don't care. So we worked to our saga of
all of a sudden, he's retiring. Just how to clear
blow and retiring, got a great team coming back. Everything's
going fine and dandy. I'm retiring. Last week we get
(12:11):
a statement about a person that he admired. No problem,
that's his opinion. Got no problem with that. But always
bring in the religious piece because that makes us right.
So I wanted to do some research, guys. I just
wanted to make sure my listeners knew. So let me
try to find something. Guys, I'm dealing with my computer,
(12:32):
so you'll just have to bear with me for a second.
I went back to our constitution because we hear this
word throwing out so much, so I wanted to be
correct with this guy. The Constitution explicitly states that there
is no separation of church in state. God we say
that here it is it's Article six. No, you won't
(12:54):
find the phrase separation of church and state in the Constitution.
That said. Article six of the Constitution grants that no
religious tests shall ever be required as a qualification for
any office or public trust under the United States. Similarly,
the First Amendment to the Constitution states that Congress shall
(13:15):
make no laws respecting or establishing of religion got me Scott.
These statements, plus Supreme Court ruling in case such as
Iverson versus Board of Education, do separate church and state?
Check these facts out. I just wanted to give you
all facts. So again, guys, our opinions, our opinions. I
(13:42):
stayed to mind. I do have a show, and I
could go crazy if I wanted to on all of
my opinions. I don't run around beating my chest over
what my religion is and who's his right and who's
is wrong. I just know more wars or fault of
religion than anything else ever throughout history, and everyone thinks
(14:04):
they're right. Okay, I'm not touching what your belief is.
Your belief is, your belief. I'm happy for you. But
I just think again, when we're dealing with young kids,
that we should stay as close to the facts as
we can. When we're expressing our opinions, and there's tons
(14:27):
of versions of the Bible, guys who all know that
their turns. I mean, he's got the Muslim beliefs, She's
got all the beliefs. Guys, we have Christianity. We know
all I'm saying with the Bruce Pearl deal now that
his son is getting the job, and that great. I
would have liked to see his son go to Southern
Illinois and one like his dad, been an assistant coach
(14:50):
for somebody other than his dad before he got albered.
And just to give you an example, Jerry's went from
assistant coach at Howard University dollars in DC.
Speaker 6 (15:02):
It's just a scout for the New Jersey Nets, assistant
coach for University of Louisville, assistant coach for Charlotte Hornets
Glenon Cavaliers before I got North Carolina A and T,
which had won two games three games in two years,
and it was a great opportunity.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
So all opportunities are given out the same either, no
matter what people try to say, they're not. And his
last name was not Pearl, he would not be the
head coach at Albert. So I just wanted to give
you the facts. I hate to see that Bruce is retiring.
He had a good team, He's done a quality job,
but he's got a checkered pass period, point blank. That's
(15:42):
all there is to it. So everybody else can make
their opinions. I just wanted to state facts about Bruce
Pearl's retirement, and I wish him the very best. I
wish his son the best. But again, there's outside influences
that are going on with this, and it depends on
what side you're standing on. But you know what all
(16:06):
I do know is they say about love your neighbor
as their own. Boy. If we could just do that, Scott,
we would be great. That's not where we are today,
and we know it. So E Sports Radio, Scott, We're
gonna get the break seven twenty two. When we come back,
we're gonna talk about those rats. I'm not gonna say
(16:26):
another word, scot not another word. Hey, you gotta get
your scores in. We're gonna talk about that too. Est
Sports Radio, we talked to you later. Bye bye, Welcome
back to Esports Radio seven to twenty six. I am Scotty. Scotty,
but again, I want to clarify myself. I misspoke. You'll
all know I've got a little delexia. But y'all know
what I meant. The Constitution explicitly states there is a
(16:48):
separation of church and state. Then Article six is rEFInd it.
I just wanted to make sure that I clarify myself.
I think I said that wrong. But anyway, I just
clarified that. So, Scott, what's went on with the Raids?
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (17:05):
I'll tell you what we talked yesterday.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
And after the last week, I just stopped really looking
at them. I don't want to talk about.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
I didn't even want to think about them.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
And then all of a sudden I look yesterday just
to see how they're doing, because I knew we're at
least gonna talk about them. Not mentioned her name, but
just talk about them. And there are four games up,
four games above five hundred, sitting tied with the Mets
for the last playoff spot. And then then I go
(17:41):
do some research this morning to see they have six
games left, and so they've got three at home against
the Pittsburgh Pirates, who are you know, not doing too well,
and three winnable. Then the last three they go to Milwaukee, Okay,
(18:03):
and that's going to be a tough last three games.
The only the only thing that that can save them
is if Milwaukee shuts some of their guys down.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
That gives them a little for the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Does that happen in baseball, Scott? Does that happen in baseball?
Like football and basketball? Does that happen.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
It does, especially like if if you're so, Milwaukee is
two and a half games up. They're sitting in first
place in the National League, so there're two and a
half games ahead of the Phillies. So if they can
lock up that number one spot, then they may give
(18:46):
during that h Cincinnati series, they may give a you know,
some guys.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
A game offer two mm hmmm.
Speaker 7 (18:54):
So there's a there's a small chance that if they
do clinch that number one spot, that they may shut
a few guys down, may you know, give a picture
some rest.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
You know, it's just give them a game off. You know,
the pictures will still throw their same pinions, but they'll
just do it in the bullpens.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
They won't.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
It's got it. It's just speaking. I got people sending
me yes they do, especially their pictures. I've got people
letting me know. All that means is they've got a shot.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
So if if Milwaukee can clinch, and all of these
cubs so so here here's the problem with that. Again,
the Cubs are sitting in now. People are jockeying for position. Okay,
(19:53):
so you know you've got the Cubs, the Cubs and
the Dodgers, are both tied the same same. So now
now you're fighting for playoff positioning, and who do we
want to face? Do we want to face either? You know,
it's either going to be the Phillies or Milwaukee. So
(20:17):
with done the Dodgers than they're.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
They're jockeying for position.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
So do we want to face the Phillies.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Or do we want to face the Brewers?
Speaker 3 (20:28):
And that's gonna be do we shut because they're they've
pretty much.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Locked in those positions.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
You know, the the Cadres are nine nine games, they're
two and a half games back from the Cubs and
the Dodgers. Okay, so there's a lot of a lot
of positioning that's that's going on these last.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Well, we're gonna have to watch. All I know is
the Reds are in play. That's all haven't been in
play for so long. Francona has done a great job,
and we're just we're just gonna wait and see Scott.
We're gonna watch now, Scott, we do have our first
caller on the line where we get to eat our caller.
But I also want you to know that the Ryder
Cup starts Friday. S guy, don't forget Beth Page Black.
(21:13):
I want to play that course so bad, Beth Page Black. Scott,
who Ryder Cup? Now we've got Super Bowl of Golf,
we've got the finals in NBA, We've got the NCAA Finals,
We've got the college football playoffs all wrapped up in
the golf.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Scott.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
It's gonna be crazy. Oh my gosh, Beth Page Black,
It's gonna be crazy, Scott. So a lot of things
are going on. We've got a lot of things went on.
So but first, Scott, we're at seven thirty one, trying
to stay the task. I'm gonna get to my first caller.
Bring Steve to the show. Steve, how are you? Mark?
Speaker 4 (21:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Got good morning.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
I don't I know you. You tried it last week.
You were close again close close cigars, Steve, are close,
No cigar. But again, everybody is counting their wins. You
were four and oh I've got all of them, Steve.
I'm keeping them all. So unless somebody breaks in steals
my phone and my notebook, I got them all, Scott,
(22:15):
I'm taking pictures of them. I'm on top of things.
So so, Scott, you know, we've got five games this week.
This week, I don't think anybody will go five and oh,
these are some crazy games, really and truly. So you know,
we always let the first caller pick. You're not gonna
go and live a Pittsburgh only are you? You're gonna
take oo too our ringing teams.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
No, I'm gonna take a gonna take the number three.
Pence Day gets number six Oregon.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
There you go. I like it, honestly, Steve, that's the
game people are see. Now there is a nutscot. There's
another piece in play. This always makes people think that
they'll tell you who they think it's gonna win. If
you didn't have anything on it, all can take you.
Fansoud stay they're gonna win all o. The fans would
say they're gonna win when you put something on it.
(23:04):
And five hundred dollars at the end. And again I
want everybody to know, Hey, guys, Billy Hayes, Town and
Country CommonWell Dodge. That's why we got the five hundred guys,
Billy Hayes. Now let's go with it. Oregon, Penn State
at Oregon love that game. We think is gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Good game like Penn State twenty eight to twenty five.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
So you're taking Penn State on the road. See that's
why this week that game is gonna go both ways.
He'll be fifty to fifty. Scott, what do you think
Oregon at home? Or does James Franklin win a bigwin?
James Franklin win a big one on the road at Penn.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
State episodes and you know we talk about his his
coaching and he's done a great job, but just can't win.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
The great job.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
And here's here's a big one early earlier season challenge,
go into Oregon. Oregon is gonna be rocking. Guy, that's
gonna be total went up there, don't.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
I had to edit. I had to make it the
fifth game. I couldn't leave it off. There were just
too many good games. You picked the correct game. The
game is Penn State at Oregon, because Scott, I have
half it had most of the time. Steve knows this
with it whatever the game it is, ninety percent of
the people picked the same team. You know who's gonna win,
(24:25):
not this one. That's why I edited it. This one.
I guarantee you'll be split down the middle. See, let's
go to the next game, Alabama. You don't have to
give me your score. I just need to know who's
gonna win. Alabama at Georgia. Who are you going with?
Speaker 4 (24:39):
I didn't know you had Alabama Georgia. I thought you
had a low pet Chuckern Kentucky Georgia Alabama.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
I had five. Yeah, now you want to change it?
I thought about Alabama Georgia. No, I don't mind. Which one?
Speaker 4 (24:53):
Do you want to No, you want to score for Yorga.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Yes, So now let's make sure bike, because everybody's listening,
we're changing the game from Penn State at Oregon to
Alabama at Georgia's that what you're telling me?
Speaker 4 (25:10):
Yes, okay, no problem.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Yeah, so give me the score. I had no problem
with him. Give me the score of Alabama at Georgia.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
I like Georgia to win twenty eight to twenty five.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Oh too, you know I think that game ninety percent
of the people are going to take Georgia. Steve, But
you got it, Ole, miss I am. You've got Penn
State winning. That's all we had to know. I'm circling
Penn State. You've got the winners. Yes, the winners. Now
Lsu at Ole, miss Lsu Okay, okay. They defeated Florida
(25:50):
Miami defeated Florida. We now know that Clemson is just
so so so I'm so so on LSU. I kind
of like all missing this game myself, but we have
to wait and see. Yeah, okay, good, I'm glad you
told me because everybody knows. I don't know. Steve knows.
I don't know, but I can see that I can't Pittsburgh.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Louisville at Pittsburgh, I'm gonna tak Okay.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
That's gonna be a good game. I'm gonna tell you
that's gonna be a good game. That's gonna be a
good game. Uh, this will be for Louisville's first decent challenge.
Kentucky at South Carolina.
Speaker 4 (26:30):
A lot of hoose games here year. I'm gonna take Carolina.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Okay, there are a lot of good no this week.
I'm just telling you, I don't think anybody goes five
and oh I really don't. But Steve, I got you down.
The game is Alabama Georgia. So everybody understands Alabama at
Georgia is the game we're wagering on. Steve, I got
you Okay, Georgia YouTube, yep, take care, Take care, coach.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
We got to make a correction here, coach, what Oregon
is at Penn State, not Penn State at Oregon, Oregon
at State. Yeah, I'm looking at it right now. Okay, yeah, okay,
that's right, You're okay, good.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Okay, great, well, great correction. Thank you guys, Thank you.
I must have been on drugs this weekend when I
because I find them out. I try to put all
my road games on one side, Scott, so it's easy
for me, so I appreciate it. So again, the game
Oregan's at Happy Valley. That is not the game that counts.
(27:32):
The game that counts is Alabama at Georgia. First score
is twenty eight Georgia twenty five Alabama. We're gonna get
the break, guys. At seven thirty seven East Worts Radio
movie Back in a minute, Welcome back to EAT Sports
Radio seven, Scott. We weren't even to get to it,
but let me announce them again. The games this week
(27:53):
Kentucky and you all are correct. College game days at
Happy Valley. Oregon is at Penn State. It's college game Day.
We've got Kentucky at South Carolina, Scott, really good game,
and preseason every thought South Carolina would kill Kentucky. It's
up in the air. Now you've got Louiwood Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Scott.
(28:14):
I think they beat the Cane and the breaks off
someone else, but they've lost to West Virginia overtime game.
I do believe it should be a challenge for University
of louverll first true contest road contest with the acc opponent.
You've got LSU at ole Miss. I've seen a Miss
in person, Scott. A weird game at the University of Kentucky.
(28:37):
First ten minutes, Kentucky dominates the entire game, Scott. They're
up ten to nothing. Next thing you know, one fourth
down completion by Ole Miss and the entire game flips.
Next thing you know, it's fourteen ten and seventeen ten
and Kentucky's trying to fight from behind after that. But
good game. We've got Alabama at Georgia, which is the
game of other week for US, which is a great
(28:59):
game between the hedges. Alabama Georgia Bloodbath gonna be a
good one. I'm picking Georgia though, I go with Steve
with that. And then the last game I'll just need
to know the winner is Oregon at Penn State. So
those are the five games now, Scotty, I don't know
(29:21):
when we're sitting here looking at the ACC and football
and you're starting to look at the rankings. ACC is
fared better than I thought. But I thought one of
the teams that was going to be good was going
to be Clemson. But we see Scott Clinton was owing
to Davos Sweeney was telling everyone they've won the league
(29:44):
eight out of ten years. They have and he's a
great coach, and he is, but since Brent Vinnable left
and went to Oklahoma, he has not been the same.
And Oklahoma has completely changed from all offense, no defense
to now Oklahoma is slapping people, straightening the mouth, Scott,
They're pressing them the minute they get off the plane.
(30:07):
Oklahoma's playing. Now, Oklahoma's a good team. What do you think, Scott,
when you're talking about the ACC and where they are.
You got your Miami which I'm coming to see in person.
Number two in the country right now, very formidable team.
Florida State has made a complete U turn. They turned
(30:28):
it around, amazing their number. I mean they're number eight.
Georgia Tech is a quality team. They have defeated Clemson,
but each time someone beats Clemson. It takes away from
Georgia Tech's victory. Now Syracuse went to Clemson and beat
the dogs, not out of them. I don't know what
to say about Georgia Tech's win over Clemson because I
(30:50):
was saying that's a quality win and it is. What
do you think about the AEC right now, Scott and
Louisville situation to where Louisville's going to have an opportunity
to play one team, Scott, it's just a truth. They're
gonna play Miami next month. Other than that, they don't
have a ranked opponent that they're gonna play. So you
tell me.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
When it comes.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
When it comes to these conferences, there's there's so many
teams that you know, Louisville has won one big game
and you know they can eat. They just need to
fare well against Miami. You know, beating Miami is gonna
be tough in Miami. Yeah, it's gonna be a tough
(31:36):
matchup for But if they can keep it close, you
know whatever, you know, if it's a if it's a
one touchdown point spread, if they can keep it within
a touchdown or so and and look competitive, that's a
step in the right direction for Louisville, and that'll keep
them at the top. That'll give them, you know, if
they're not ranked by then, you know, they've got pit up.
(31:59):
They can win pit. They you know, they have a
Virginia at home. So Virginia coming.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
To Louisville is a good game.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
Virginia is okay right now, so they're in they're in
good shape.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
You know, they just needs a farewell.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
And then after that, Boston College, Virginia Tech Cal you
call it, is in Louisville.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
So they've got Clemson in Louisville. So they're tough games,
are They're not like Miami.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
I pick pick. I picked Lotub nine and three, and
I'm staying with it. I picked them losing to s
m U. I'm not sure about that anymore. Clemson, I'm
not sure about that anymore. At home in Miami. And
we'll see. We're gonna see what this pit game. Where
they staying. We got a caller. We got to get
to this break though. Let's bring Greg to the show. Greg,
(32:50):
Welcome to the sports radio. Are you I'm good?
Speaker 2 (32:53):
How are you guys? Do man?
Speaker 1 (32:55):
We're just hanging in there. It's sounds like you're out there.
You're out there trying to get it done, so be safe. Great. Oh,
the game that counts is Alabama at Georgia. Who you
going with? I need that score.
Speaker 8 (33:07):
Georgia thirty one, Alabama twenty four.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
Okay, all I need is the winning team. Penn State
Oregon at Penn State.
Speaker 8 (33:19):
I think Franklin gets it done this time. I'm going
Penn State.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Okay, lsu Ole Miss and Ole Miss, oh Miss. Okay.
Louisville at Penn State. Excuse me. At Pittsburgh Gloibill wins
that game. Okay. Kentucky at South Carolina South Carolina, Oh,
(33:49):
gotcha game, I've got you, not yet. Yes, it is
tough game. It's gonna be a good game. I think
fair Kentucky fair is better. I thought Old Miss was
just ranking Tucky out did not, so we're gonna have
to wait and see it.
Speaker 3 (34:05):
It'll be a good game. Sus are playing good, but
I just think their backs are against the wall too.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
And it's at home.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
It's a night game. Those games are tough to going
and steel. That's true. South Carolina's had Kentucky's number the
last few years. So we'll see. Greg. You'd be safe
out there. Something you're driving. I'm sure you take care
of yourself and I hope you lose. Are you gonna
get in the briars to wish with me, Steve, I'll
get in and I'll tell you this.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
If I win, I'm doing you keep it and donated
to somebody.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
Okay, well that's right, I'm going with the under I'm
still trying to beat you. All right, I'm going. I'm
saying thirty twenty four, Georgia, I took the under got
you appreciate We'll see, We'll see brother, talk to you later, Mabe. Bye,
Thanks for listenings. Hey, let's get to our last break.
When we come back, we'll get to our next caller.
(34:53):
I got the one that only Scott's old age, South
Florida on the line, and of course she had them
behind the glass and the brand that's me and I
will explain something that someone someone sent me a text saying,
explain what do you mean by the religious piece? And
I'm gonna do that at the end of the show,
Talk in a minute, Welcome back to these Sports Radio

Speaker 1 (36:07):
Right to be the fastest. I just have to be
faster than George.
Speaker 8 (36:10):
That's just just be faster than hem pushing him in there.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Georgia Alabama at Georgia is the game? What is your score?
Speaker 8 (36:21):
I got Georgia thirty four, Alabama twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Okay, I've got at Happy Valley, Oregon at Penn State.
I just need the winner.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
They got Penn State.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Okay, I've got LSU at Ole Miss.
Speaker 8 (36:39):
LSU thirty four, old miss twenty one.
Speaker 1 (36:42):

Louisville at Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
Good morning the great Champion swimming and Scotty and you
and I'm ready, buddy.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
Georgia Alabama at Georgia.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Jerry, I'm gonna take the Bulldogs twenty eight, Alabama twenty six.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Let me see. Okay, you're good with that. Okay, you've
got Oregon Penn.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
State parent rant.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
So they finally got a big win at home. They
had a better chance. I would have taken Oregon if
it was at Orgon Scott. But I think they can
get it done.
Speaker 9 (37:55):
I really would have LSU and Ole Miss l USU Tigers,
Louisville at pitt Pittsburgh Panthers.
Speaker 8 (38:05):
Who.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
Kentucky at South Carolina Kentucky. Okay, you gotta he stepped
out there on the faith they're gonna there will no
be I don't think there's any five and o's this week,
but I really do not think. No.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
No, it's a great way to pick them. And Jerry,
my boss, is going to call the marsh. He's not
ready yet.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Okay, that's fine, that's fine, Blanding. Let me let you go,
because I got to get something in. Somebody sent. Yeah,
here's the deal, someone asked me. Of course I was
talking about Bruce Pearl, And of course we heard during
this Charlie Chris. He is bringing in always you know,
the guy the Christianity. All I'm gonna say to you
all is this, and during games you're here when the
(38:51):
winning team, thank God, God doesn't care who won. If
we really believe that, if you really believe that He
put us all here, then you're just misinformed. I hate
that cloak of analogy. The winning team gets to say
that he loves the losing team too. He doesn't care.
(39:11):
He's bigger than that. We make God small. That's what
makes me so. It's just so, And to listen to it,
I hear it. I have no problem with you saying
thank you for what Guy's given me, no uch, getting
me through the game healthy, no question. But the winning
piece drives me bonkers. God mean, that's first piece. I
just want people to understand. Second piece. My dad told
(39:33):
me all the time. Dogs do not bark at park cars.
A lot of people have heard these analogies I've said,
but I just want you to understand why they don't
bark at things that aren't moving. But it doesn't mean
you're moving in the right direction. And your movement can
depend on your personality, your upbringing, your lifestyle. That's why
(39:56):
we have supposedly, our constitution has brought a group of
people together that is supposed to be looking out for
the best interest of the whole. That's not where we are,
period point blank. We are separated through r and DS.
I've been saying that the eleven years. I'm not back and
off they have suckered us into I'm a conservative Republican.
(40:16):
They're liberal Democrats. We just can't who creates jobs, who doesn't? Guys,
and they take all the money. That's all, period, point blank.
All I can say is the Bible says love your neighbor. Period.
That's not where we are. That's not where our politicians are,
and we know it. It's a fact. I just wish
(40:38):
that we would settle down, educate ourselves better so that
we can look at things totality as a whole, not
as individuals. We're too big for that. God doesn't care
that ballad wann of the state championship in nineteen seventy six.
It's just a lie. Eastworts Radio. Love y'all, talk to
you all tomorrow. He loves us all. Bye bye,
