Speaker 3 (06:14):
I think the spread looks funny.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Okay, what is the spread? You know? I don't know
what is the spread?

Speaker 6 (06:21):
Right?

Speaker 1 (06:21):
You know?

Speaker 6 (06:21):
I don't know?

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Three?

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Okay, three they're begging to bet Georgia. I'm gonna take Alabama.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
Okay, give me three different, just three different.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Twenty seventy four.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Ye, you've got it. Nobody else's that could be. I mean,
that's what you have to do to win the money.
People don't understand you have to pick up an anomaly.
It just is what it is. But Alabama could could.

Speaker 6 (06:46):
I want I want that eage money more and I
want breakfast.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
See there you go. Boy, I try to tell you you're

Speaker 6 (07:30):
Just changed me.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
But I'm gonna take them over that high school team.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Okay, there you go. I just want everyone to remember
I told you all Louisville would be undefeated going into
the Miami game.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
I didn't say that louis was great.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
I said at the conference, the a CEC has not
shown me what it needs to show me. That's all.
I didn't say that louis was great. I just said
and to the a SEC proves to me that it's
right at its ship. I can't. I'm just I'm gonna
say where I am. I'm gonna stay right, and I've
been right. Three teams in the ACC are ranked ten,
teams in the SEC are ranked big ten. I mean

(08:08):
one two. I mean it's crazy, but at least Miami
and Florida State have fared will We'll see what happens
with them next week. So let's go Kentucky at South Carolina.
Another tough one for you to pack.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
No, it's not. I'm taking Outh Carolina.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
I got you, I got you, Ron, brother Ron, I
got Eastern and I got a state of task. It's
I'm fourteen. I ranked'm thank you. I'm gonna come back
with the one and only Greg Minor after the break
to tell us his experience with the Great Walter Cobby Harrison.
After the commercials, welcome back to the sports radio phone.
It was five zero two, five seven, one seventy nine hundred.

(08:51):
You have to get your calls in. But first and
foremost we have the one and only the Great Greg Minor,
former University of Louisville Cardinal I mean, outstanding career nineteen
ninety one through nineteen ninety four. Of course, the twenty
fifth pick Los Angeles Clippers. Five or six years with
the Bolts and Celtics. His honestly resume looks like mine.

(09:13):
He's worked for more NBA teams than the low lyles developmental.
I want to bring on the holy One and only
Greg minor O could be sports radio. How are you, Jerry?

Speaker 4 (09:25):
You got my last name wrong, dude. I don't want
to disappoint you, but it's m A, not m I.
I'm I'm the guy that calls it. I'm Greg Tennessee guy.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Oh oh, I'm sorry. Oh, I thought you came in
from the score. I'm expecting. Well, do me a favor.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
No, no, no, no, I'm one, no no. I know
what his dad played to the Cobby Oh dad played
with Comedy.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I'm gonna want to send you to.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
Back got you?

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Okay, I got you.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
I'm so sorry. Okay, you send it to me on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
That's right, great, okay, great, yeah, got you tell me?

Speaker 5 (10:01):
Okay, thank you. Let's clarify, then let's back it up.

Speaker 6 (10:05):
All right?

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Your dad played with Cobby Harrison. Of course I gave
out and everyone knows when the funeral arrangements are for
tomorrow and yeah where to go? Tell me now? Fill
me in, Fill in the blanks. I'm so sorry, fill
in the blanks. When you're dad, how you got to
know Cobby those things?

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Yeah, yeah, when I was a kid man, I mean
I'm like seven, eight, nine, ten years old. My dad
played Major Open softball. Dad got indacted into the ASA
Hall of Fame as well. Back in nineteen ninety. He
played for the Bourbons, but he had to quit because
of his job. Most of the guys that played, you know,
had sold insurance or had their own business, and you

(10:47):
know that schedule of travel. You didn't make a lot
of money playing with the purpose, you know. But anyway,
like Cobby and Chuck Winner and Bill Gaddy and all
those guys, I grew up all around him, and I
can tell you like as a young kid when you
go there, Cobby was so genuine and treated kids amazing.

Speaker 6 (11:12):
You know.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
He'd say you bring your glove, young man, and I
say yes, sir, and he'd say come out here and
throw with me, you know, And like they played Pepper
and I get to play with him, you know, but
they the guy as far as like those guys all
those guys when they hit softballs, it was like watching
the Reds hit of baseball. I mean, they didn't have
the doctored bats, they didn't have the doctor they got today.

(11:37):
Those guys would have played with they would have killed people.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
They played with the wooden bats. Wood people spoke to
me about that, about the wooden bats, not all this illuminaum.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
And then yeah, and when the aluming them first came out,
it was just a regular little slugger tts illuminum. It
wasn't this triple wall stuff like they got today, you know.
And like I told you, one of the cool things
like that, the best League was on Friday nights to
Turners and all the Burbers played on different teams there.
And Dad played with a team called Snit's Club, and

(12:11):
that was with Bill Gaddy and Steve Coffin, a couple
of guys. But Louis Danger played second base for them.
And so I'm like twelve years old and I go
to the game. I'm like, yeah, that's Louis Danfer. He goes, yeah,
that's Louie. Commit So I got to hang and I'd
bring my friends to the game and I wouldn't tell
them and they'd be starstruck because he's still playing for
the Spurs at that time, right. So Coffee was a genuine,

(12:39):
genuine guy. He was he was always friendly to everybody.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
He was.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
He just was a really really good man and he
could hit a softball country mile. But he's uh, he
always treated everybody with dignity and respect, and he.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Was they were too busy.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
I mean he always the kids would always come up
to those guys because you know, they looked at him like,
oh my god, this this is this is everybody knew
told he was.

Speaker 8 (13:09):
In Mouble and back then they had like the l
I T and the k I T, these national term
as teams would come from all over the United States
to play and like a Bishop David or at Bluegrass Field,
there'd be like two three thousand people that are.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Watching softball and you just it's not like it is today.
It was it was it was something and like like
I said, I was fortunate because I got to see
the best players. Dad played against the best players in
the country and most of them were from lous You know,
global had a hot bed of basketball, I mean about softball.

(13:47):
It was amazing, amazing, But you know, he was a
good man. And you know that.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Yes, No, absolutely, the stories of Kaby Harrison will be
told for years to come. That's all they're to it.
They'll be told for forever, and they'll get bigger and
bigger in life. Trust me. No, I appreciate it. Sorry
for the miscommunication, but I appreciate your comments on Cobby.
I want people to know again. Visitation is fifty three

(14:16):
Owen's Funeral Home, fifty three seventeen Dixie Highway, and that
is from two to seven pm. Visitation services start at
seven pm tomorrow, the twenty six.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
You want to saying, I think the most important thing
about Tobby where his daughter played college basketball?

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Oh my god, I can't believe. No, that was the
only mistake. Lisa went to Tennessee. No, are you gonna
get your scores in You don't get your scores in area.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
I got it earlier.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
That's what you think. That's what you said last week.
And tendency was gonna be Georgia. How that work? How
that worked out for you?

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Well?

Speaker 4 (15:01):
You know what that damn Mitsfield go. They should have won.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
That, boy boy, but don't do that.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
I know so many miss Field goes, our block Field goes.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Last week, No, I appreciate, I appreciate, Thank you, Greg,
take care of best of luck as we can end
the contest. Bye bye, Yeah, guys. Kyby Harrison won of
a kind. That's all there is to it. I don't
usually dwell. I usually do one day, but Kyby was
just bigger than one day and fantastic guy. His emotions

(15:32):
were on his sleeves. You knew what Kyby was thinking.
And that's the key to life. Guys.

Speaker 5 (15:36):
If you just know where a person stands, we'd be
a lot better off. But that's the problem.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
People will put that fake face on and you don't
know who they are, and it's hard to communicate with
people that way. Kyby was Kybe Harrison all the time. Anyway,
let's get to our next caller. Let's get Marty on
if you can, Rick, Marty Arnold, Jerry, Hey, you're not

(16:02):
getting money, no money for you. I shouldn't have paid
you last week.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
The time to double up, man.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Oh okay, we're getting the Briar's bush. You're not frightening.
Let's go Alabama.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Uh, Georgia, give me the score, Georgia twenty four to eighteen.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Nobody has that, No one has eighteen I'm sure pitt
Oregon at Penn State.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
Of Penn State eighteen twelve.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Okay, you don't have to give me the score. You
have no idea what you're betting on. In mar You're
just lucky. LSU and ol miss.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
Ole Miss twenty four LSU twelve.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
M hmm, Okay, Louisville at Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
I'm going out of the in on this one. Pittsburgh
twenty four moves.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
A god, guys, because I'm going with Louisville. I said
they'd be undefeated going to Miami. I'm going to the
Miami game. I'm staying the course. I'm picking Louisville in
that game, Kentucky.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
That's that's why I pitched Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Get away from the South, girl, get away from you,
and you got my money. You better cast that check
before I stopped payment on it.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
That's all I say. White, I'll think it's got invisible A.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Disappeared exactly, it should disappear.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
We've got you down, Martin.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Get out of here. I can't run invisible. Take care.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
It's all right, guys.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
See he's at Ford, absolutely doesn't know work for a living.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
I'm just telling you we got Mike on the line.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Let's get Mike in at seven seven, Mike walking the
sports ready to hurt you.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Good morning, Jay, I'm doing good.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
How about you, buddy, Mike.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
I'm just day by day. You know, Tomorrow the service,
I'm sure i'll see the entire city at Walter Cobby
Harrison's visitation. I'm going to be there tomorrowt two o'clock, Charlsey, everyone.
But just hanging in there another day. I mean, just honestly,
since you've asked, Mike and being honest with people. Yesterday,

(18:26):
I get more bad news, and I mean it's not
bad news, great lives. But the gentleman's name is mister Benson,
Robert Benson. He's my lawyer. He's my lawyer for I'm
sixty six, guys. I signed by McDonald's all American paperwork
in mister Benson's office right next to the guard House

(18:48):
in nineteen seventy eight. Got me that's how long it's
been a minute. And he passed away Tuesday with Kyby Harrison.
He was eighty three years old. Yeah, huge at believable
border trustee, great guy. All my contracts with the NBA,
he read them, negotiated them for me. All my coaching contracts.

(19:08):
He read them, negotiated them for me. He was a
person I'm going to tell people that told me, Jerry,
don't forget this, and a lot of people don't want
to hear it, especially when I'm representing them. You know
what a good deal is, Mike, when it's good for
both parties. Yeah, he's a person who taught me that. Well,
you know the lawyers are ever going to tell you that.
I hate to say that, but we know they're not.

(19:28):
He taught me that nineteen eighty two, eighty three, No.
Eighty two. I just wanted to make the team with
the Jazz. I had a make good forty thousand dollars contract.
I made the All Ricky team, played well, so we
had an opportunity to do a little negotiation right, And
I'll never forget him telling me a good deal is
good for both parties. So David Falk, a basketball guy,

(19:52):
negotiated the deal. Was pushing for more, and mister Benson,
my friend, said, just remember Jared, the other team that
gave you an opportunity, and that opportunity after being cut
by the Jazz, Scottie Layden gives him my first scouting
job when I'm working in Dallas, Texas. I'm scout in
the Southwestern Conference. Again, a good deal is good for

(20:16):
both parties. That's why these college contracts and these coaches.
I don't know what the schools have thought, but anyway, Mike,
let's move on.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Let me let me make your day even better. When
you signed at mcdonald' dollar American contract in nineteen seventy eight,
I was only eight years old.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Jerry, you just love to make my brother good.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
All right, you're getting close to your SOB security years
to day.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
That that's let's get with it.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Alabama Georgia only one person taking Alabama only one?

Speaker 2 (20:52):
Well, that's we're gonna be two. Alabama twenty seven, Georgia fourteen.

Speaker 9 (20:59):
Okay, Oregon at Penn State Oregon, l s U and
Ole Miss Oh Miss.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
I like O Miss myself. I do Louisville at Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
You said that that was too fast. You said that
way too fast. Kentucky and South Carolina's I'm just sticking
with Louislle. I don't care what you wanna say.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
I'm gonna stick on my I'm sticking on my wildcatter
this week, even though we played bad every every time
we played bad off of bye week, but I'm going
with the wildcatter this week.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Okay, got you, Mike, I got you down. You know,
appreciate you contributing to the show. Love you man, and
you cats are going down this weekend. Love that too.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
Gold your card though, buddy, see your brother a good day,
you too.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Radio guys, this is crazy seven thirty one. We got
to get the break. We'll have another segment for about
three and a half four minutes. I think my Ravens
are in trouble. I'm a Lamar Jackson fan. I've never
really loved the Ravens. I'm just a Lamar fan. But
the team has no discipline. I'm not even talking about

(22:18):
Derrick Henry because he's such a workhorse, but he has
been putting the ball on the ground. He has, but
I just don't like the discipline top to bottom. The
defense is god awful. And I'm going to tell you why.
I'm to the break.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
Want to come back to even Sports radio, guys.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
It's a busy day as well. We know we've got
Lee Sterling coming on at seven point forty. I've got
two callers waiting, but I just want to touch really quickly.
This Chiefs raven game, guys, it's in Kansas City. I
just don't see the Ravens getting it done. That means
one in three.

Speaker 5 (22:52):
Not very many teams in the NFL have made.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
The playoffs have started one in three, not saying it
can't happen, but not very many. And five of the
first six games for the Ravens are playoff teams.

Speaker 5 (23:04):
They already played the Bills. The Browns are really good.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
People know that. Now the Lions, they got the Chiefs,
the Texans, and the Rams, So, guys, it could be critical.
As for Lamar's play, guys, if you just google it,
I don't have to tell you. He's almost first in
everything quarterback rating there is. Hasn't thrown that interception, hasn't
put the ball on the floor. But these things have happened.

(23:27):
So when you're one in two and you're scoring forty
points thirty points, I mean forty one points and you're
one and two, it's never happened in the NFL history.
So I just wanted people to know that. Let's get
to our first caller. Let's get to James. James walking
to esports radio, How are you pretty good?

Speaker 6 (23:47):
How you doing.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Can't complain, James.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
Let's get it moving, Let's get it cracking.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
We've got Alabama, Georgia. What's you score?

Speaker 6 (23:55):
Yarga thirty twenty four?

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Seez I'm gonna try thirty one. I knew, okay, thirty four.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
I think you're good. You said thirty twenty four?

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Correct?

Speaker 6 (24:13):
Yep?

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Okay, gotcha.

Speaker 5 (24:16):
Let's go Oregon at Penn State in State.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
LSU and Ole, Miss oh Miss, Louisville at Pittsburgh Fitchburgh.

Speaker 5 (24:33):
You all rolling over on my Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Dang James, it's gonna be undefeated going into Miody. You
ol will see. I'll be talking stuff to you. Kentucky
and South Carolina, South Carolina. Okay, come on, Hanley, you
went to louis with what's up? You're picking Pittsburgh. They
lost in West Virginia. Haven't done anything either. Louisville hasn't
beat anybody good, but Pittsburgh hasn't either. That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
Yeah, that's as Lola defense panting good in neither.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
Okay, Well, we're gonna wait and see got you.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Let me get to David James. I got you in brother.
Let me get to David before we go to break.
David welknd's words radio. How are you?

Speaker 4 (25:15):
I'm doing good?

Speaker 1 (25:16):
How about you, David? I'm excellent, man, I really am.
I've got Alabama at Georgia's the game that counts. I
need your score on that one.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
I like Alabama twenty to seventeen.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Okay, there are three people now that have taken Alabama.
Let's go Oregon at Pennon State, Happy Valley. It's game day,
College game Day.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
I think organ is gonna deal.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
I do too.

Speaker 5 (25:43):
I've got LSU at Ole Miss oh Man.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
I got a tiles up on this one. I think
LSU is gonna beat them.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Okay, I mean I wanted to give LEU a lot
of credit for beating Clemson, but we found out up.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
I mean, Syracuse beat the brakes off of Ye.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
So that's what I just don't Yes, I just don't
know how to evaluate l s U just yet. Louisville
at Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
I won't say Louisville Okay.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Good choice, good choice. Kentucky is South Carolina.

Speaker 4 (26:21):
I won't take Kentucky. I just kind of play is
a quarterback is played last week? Gonna play again?

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Are they gonna go to the other one.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
Leonoris is still hurt.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
I know that. Yes, Leonoris is still hurt. The Norse
sellers at South Carolina is still hurt. That's all I know.
So I would say last week started, will be starting
this week. Leonoris got hurt in the Vanderbilt game, a
head injury. That's all I know.

Speaker 6 (26:46):
I'm talking.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
I'm talking about the Kentucky quarterback back.

Speaker 5 (26:52):
No Cutter Bowley starting, Yes, Cuter Bowley started.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Yeah. No, yeah, exactly No, Yes, Cuter Bowley is the
Startrek Kentucky. So I got to get the break, David,
thank you sir for calling day You too, sir, seven
thirty nine. We got to get the break. We got
Lee Starling coming on before we go, and you'll be
calling Lee for me, Rick again.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
It's just been a tough week. Sheriff John Aubrey.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
I don't know if you'll know Sheriff John Aubrey, but
I got to know him well through Charles Nance. He
always put a team in my Simmons College golf outing,
always the nicest gentleman, went to his office, wrote the
check on the spot, put it into my hand, told
me anyway he could help me. Let me know. He
passed away. Also so I just wanted to mention that,

(27:41):
I mean, just please chieve you all o't know Sheriff
Aubrey's been in Louisvers since nineteen sixty two, guys, soin
I was three years old and he's been in this community.
So I had to get that out. Also, take us away.
Rick will be back with Lee Sterling after the break.
Welcome back to these sports radio guys. It is flying
by seven forty three. I've already lost two minutes with

(28:03):
the one and only at least Sterling im prom mount
sports best ridictor in the business. Lee. Welcome to the
sports radio four and one. Last week, good big week
for you, Big week for you, four and one. Yeah going,
Let's keep let's.

Speaker 6 (28:15):
Keep it rolling. I'm great, I'm great.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
You leed the money. Oh, I'm great. I mean, guss,
it is what it is. But let's keep let's keep
this party going. But I got one question for you,
and then I'm gonna throw it to you. Well, did
you ever in your wildest dreams did you look at
the Atlantic Coast Conference football after four games and Georgia Tech,

(28:38):
Syracuse Virginia Duke one and oh and Clinton would be
and two to last in the wildest dreams.

Speaker 6 (28:46):
Never never, no gabble. Just looks like mentally he's done.
If I always gabbled, work out a buyout. Either take
a year off, or you don't go somewhere else. You know,
we'll we'll see how things shake out. So obviously went
to Alabama. I think that would be the likely destination

(29:07):
if Alabama falls apart. But there's there's gonna be some
other openings. You know, he could go to the SEC.
He could go maybe to South Carolina and Kentucky. We'll
hit on that game today. The loser there, the loser there.
Believe it or not, Shane Biemer could be in trouble
and it sets here. They they were, they were ranked
number eleven a couple two weeks ago. If they end

(29:28):
up with a four and eight season, I think they'll
part ways with them.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
But it's tough.

Speaker 5 (29:33):
It's tough now in college sports.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Well's a good going, right, Let's.

Speaker 5 (29:37):
Go Georgia Alabama.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
That is my game of the week. Also, tell me
what you think happens.

Speaker 6 (29:44):
Well, I think that Alabama has a chance here. You know,
I think they're begging you to play Georgia, Oh small
home favorite. You know they already won on the road
and a tough game at Tennessee. But I think Alabama's
strength is Georgia, which is weakness throwing the football. They
have four or five receivers. They can go up and

(30:04):
get by you. So that's gonna be a problem. Alabama's defense,
We're gonna find out how tough they are. You know. Now,
they did a lot with a running quarterback. Georgia's quarterback
obviously can run also, so the question is here, can
Alabama's defense hold up? That's it. I actually like the
Tide talent a little bit better here. And how about

(30:26):
this Georgia three twelve and one against the spread since
Week one opening game last year kind of tells you
maybe they're not as good as that. It's the public
or as they used to be, wrong Tam yep, wrong
team favorite here. I like Alabama. I think they win
this game something like twenty seven to twenty six.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
It's crazy. My first caller today said exactly what you said, Lee,
I mean, it was almost crazy. I got you. He
was the first person to pick Alabama. I've got about
sixteen people up to this point. He was the first
person to select Bama. Okay, nowick In Georgia.

Speaker 6 (31:06):
Right right, yeah, a lot of picks in Georgia.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
Correct, Yes, just today I had three people take Alabama,
but until today I had no one take Alabama. Yeah,
now here's a game Kentucky South Carolina. South Carolina's had
Kentucky's number, Beamers head stoops his number the last three years.
What do you think?

Speaker 6 (31:26):
Well, I've been going against South Carolina early and often
so far this year. Said that Sellers was overrated, wasn't
I mean, did you see I think it was some
trying to remember which show it was last week, might
have been, might have been one of the NFL shows
said that they had a handleist. Staun said that he
had he talked to NFL executives and Leonora Sellers was

(31:49):
the number one quarterback on their lift Like what okay,
maybe four or five or six, but not number one.
But they were overrated. Now they've lost their first two
league games. What the head is daunting? LSU Oklahoma, Alabama, Ole,
Miss in Texas, A and M How fun.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
With all I think?

Speaker 6 (32:11):
On the Horst Sellers, I think he's I think he's
now you know he did throw for three hundred and
two yards on just eighteen completions last week. They just
got to get a little bit of a running again.
They're minus nine and rushing yards. So Kentucky's pass defense
is ranked one to twenty fifth in the country. They
allowed two seventy to Toledo, three thirty to Eastern Michigan,

(32:33):
who is awful. Yikes. Kentucky is like like Stanford and
the a SEC for football. You never know how they're
going to score. They haven't put up more than twenty
four in a game and now have a recher freshman
making his first road start at night. Give me South Carolina.
I like South Carolina big. I think they. I think

(32:54):
they blow out Kentucky thirty eight to seventeen.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Okay, you've got it. State Virginia and like I said,
Virginia surprising one and them.

Speaker 6 (33:05):
Yeah, so their offense is good, Virginia. This quarterback Chandler
Norris from North Texas is really good. I'll tell you
this much. Nficial was a total public side, just like
Baltimore was in their game on Monday night against the
Joint total public public loves them, they're betting them. So

(33:29):
the Seminos arrive here with a quarterback who Bill O'Brien
didn't want Boston College. Caviler's defense limited Castillanos running ten
for minus nine yards when they beat Boston College last year.
I'm not sure if he was hurting or you know,
was it for real? We're going to find out here.
This is the first road game for Florida State. I

(33:50):
do think that they were looking ahead. I'll tell you
as much. Almost every Florida State kid was watching that
Miami game against Florida and thinking what do we have?
But I just think that they are that much better.
I think the Virginia defense is awful with a G
before it. I like Florida State. I think they pull away,
laid here thirty four to twenty four.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Okay, yeah, it's this acc again. It's unfolding it. At
least Miami's too, Florida State's eight. They play next week.
One of those teams will have one loss, Georgia Tech. Ye.
I like Georgia Tech. But the one big win Clemson
is every week turns into not a big win. So
we'll have to wait and see.

Speaker 5 (34:32):
But the a CEC, for some reason, cannot get traction
in football. We just cannot get.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Tracked, except for Miami and Georgia. That's it, And I
mean in North Carolina's just awful. North Carolina. I mean
that game, that's just what a game.

Speaker 6 (34:49):
Well, we know who's really running the program. His name
isn't Bill Belichick.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
Not even think.

Speaker 6 (34:56):
I'm gonna leave it alone someone else, Dodden. We know
he's not wearing the pants in that relationship.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Boots are made for walking, That's all I know.

Speaker 5 (35:06):
You're right, Okay, let's continue.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
Louisville at pitt first real game for Louisville, first road test,
first at least level competition. I don't think Pittsburgh has
beat anyone either. They run the score up on two
weaker opponents. West Virginia was able to get away from them.
I think, so where do you stay in Louisville four
and a half?

Speaker 6 (35:27):
What did you think the line was going to be
in this game here?

Speaker 1 (35:31):
I honestly thought it would be lower three or two
louv on the road first time, I think it would
be lower.

Speaker 6 (35:37):
I thought right there, I thought it was gonna be
I thought it was gonna be two and a half.
And I think they are basing a lot on what
a lot of people saw in the backyard brawl, and
that was just a weird game. Now we know that
West Virginia stinks. It would I mean the pitt turned
the ball over penalties. They had over one hundred yards

(35:58):
and penalties in that game. Eli Holstein has one or
two games every year where he is atrocious. You're like
you see him all the other games, like this is
an NFL prospect. That game terrible, terrible reads just everything's
going wrong, went wrong. Now, they had a week off
to lick their wounds after falling to their rival. I mean,

(36:20):
looks like you think Isaac Brown and Duke Wats are
gonna play this week.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
What you're getting hope, Yes, I'm hoping that they play.
I'm hearing that they're gonna play. Yes, did not play
last week.

Speaker 6 (36:30):
That's him here, yes, yeah, but probably not one hundred
per million Moss. I mean, he just isn't really thriving
in the Jeff from offense here. It's usually a very
quarterback friendly offense. But he's averaging two hundred and thirty yards,
two touchdowns, two interceptions, and their best win is James Madison,

(36:51):
which is actually pretty decent here. I just I just
don't know this is home team here. In the series
five and zero against the spread, and straight up I
got the wrong team favorite. I got pitt winning this
game thirty to twenty three.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
God, I'm taking the gosh. Here's my question.

Speaker 5 (37:08):
Though Miller Mass did pass it three hundred yards last week, Okay,
he did.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
But I have doubt. I'm with you. I'm not. I'm
not jumping up and down beating my chest. I picked
Louisville to be undefeated when I come to Miami because
the league's bad. I didn't say Louislle was GOODE understand,
but I'm the.

Speaker 5 (37:26):
League is painting out the way that I thought it
was going to.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
So I just don't know. Three hundred yards last week?
You don't like that at all. They didn't give me
any hope, a.

Speaker 6 (37:37):
Little bit of hope. I mean, sometimes he looks good.
Just there's always those two three passes every every game
that just aren't there. They're high, and sometimes that's the
difference between winning and losing. I just it would have
been better if Pittsburgh had beaten West Virginia bad. Just
telling you, kay, yes, go bes an angry, angry, angry

(37:57):
focused Pittsburgh team.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
Let's go. I spoke about this early in the show.
Ravens Chiefs Ravens two and a half. I'm suspect. I
think the Ravens are in trouble. I think they go
one in three and may not make the playoffs. Five
of their first six opponents were playoff teams last year.
The Texans and the Rams are coming up after this game.
I mean, Lamar's playing flawless. He's first in every quarterback

(38:22):
rating in NFL. But the t Sks, what do you think? Yep?

Speaker 6 (38:26):
Yeah, the defense, I mean it also turnovers. Sarah Henry
has been at a time very good, but those two
fumbles were so costly here. They only had five minutes
in eighteen seconds of possession with six minutes remaining in
the first half. So they got to find a way,
not just to score, gotta keep this defense, which has

(38:48):
so many holes off the field here. I think Kansas
City is starting to figure it out here. I think
their defense is top three in the league. They are
that tough to figure out, and they just make you
They show different looks that you're not ready for. I
think I like Kansas City here. I'm taking the two
and a half. I think Kansas City wins this game

(39:09):
here twenty four to twenty.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
I had to say it. I agree with you, especially
at home. I just don't see it. Harball has to
do something. No one wants to say anything. They criticize
the defense. I'll talk about the offense. We'll talk about
Derreck Henry the ball on the ground and if Lebar
makes a mistake, will really jump on him. But you know,
we do not talk about Harball. And I mean, something's
gotta happen. This team's window is not forever. This team

(39:34):
has a great window, but it's gonna be closing soon.
Something's got to happen. Yeah, that's all that's all there is.
You know, That's all there is to it. Oh miss Lsu?

Speaker 6 (39:45):
How do you wow? What a game of the week
this week is?

Speaker 1 (39:48):
Anyone wants to free?

Speaker 6 (39:51):
I mean this is I mean there's the three the
three point thirty and the seven thirty windows are insane.
So I have three TV. I'm probably bringing in one
more for just this Weekend's the two windows. Anyone wants
to get it for free, I'll give it to them
for free. Eight hundred four hundred nine seven one again
the number, eight hundred four hundred nine seven four one.

(40:13):
Give them Ole miss and Lsu. If I don't know
if I ever mentioned this. I also do a podcast
called Locked on Bets. It is on the Locked On network.
Comes out about it's about nine thirty or ten. It's

Speaker 5 (40:54):
I'll go to it and I will like it. Here's
my question.

Speaker 6 (40:57):
I got subscribe. Hit that, hit that, hit that subscribe
button too.

Speaker 1 (41:02):

Speaker 6 (41:06):

Speaker 5 (41:08):

God willing.

Speaker 1 (41:17):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
