Speaker 1 (00:08):
Welcome October the second, twenty twenty five, Thursday, almost, thank
god it's Friday almost. But this is Eve Sports Radio
phone numbers zero two five seven one seventy nine hundred.
That's five zero two five seven, one seventy nine hundred.
(00:29):
This is sports KO. I've got Shannon back behind the
glass bestrodus during the business He'll be taking your calls.
I do have a co host it I told you
once a week. I like to fly by the seat
of my pants. I don't have to share. I don't
have to share, and I like to be a four
year old and I want to have all my carrots.
(00:52):
No sharing today, So it'll just be you all the callers,
self and Shannon. So Shannon will get you all calls. Now.
I'm going to jump right away to the WNBA. I
just told you all I wanted to explain things to
you owe and I think a lot of people wrong
and officiould call you really really was upset the Ingolbert,
(01:15):
the commissioner of the WNBA, and she had just was injured.
She had complaints with the officials, and she had complaints
with a lot of people and the league. So I
just wanted to give you all the perspective I would understand.
I did play in the NBA, and I'm going to
give you a person. After I let you listen to her,
I'm going to tell you about what some of the
(01:36):
talking ds said and what they thought should have happened.
And then I'm going to explain to you why she
was grossly wrong and inaccurate with her statements, which contradicts
almost every talking head on television. So Shannon, do me
a favor, Please play and afia call your statement about
Kathy Ingelbert.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
I want to be clear, this conversation is not about
winning or losing. It's about something much bigger. The real
threat to our league isn't money. It isn't ratings or
even miss calls, or even physical play. It's the lack
of accountability from the league office. Since I've been in
the league, you've heard the constant concerns about officiating, and
it has now reached levels of inconsistency that plague our
(02:15):
sport and undermine the integrity in which it operates. Whether
the league cares about the health of the players is
one thing, but to also not care about the product
we put on the floor is truly self sabotage year
off to year. The only thing that remains consistent is
the lack of accountability from our leaders. At unarrivaled this
past February, I sat across from Kathy and asked how
(02:37):
she planned to address the officiating issues in our league.
Her response was, while only the losers complain about the refs.
I also asked how she plan to fix the fact
that players like Caitlin Angel and Page, who are clearly
driving massive revenue for the league, are making so little
for their first four years. Her response was, Caitlyn should
be grateful she makes sixty million off the court, because
(02:58):
without the platform that the WNBA gives her, she wouldn't
make anything. And in that same conversation, she told me
players should be on their knees thanking they're lucky stars
for the media rite steal that I got them. That's
mentality driving our lead from the shop.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Thank you, Shannon, So you all got to hear some
of the complaints. IFIA call you, if you don't know,
everyone's not a WNBA fans multi MVP, maybe the second
best player in the league. She's established Okay, she was
injured in a game two days ago. Three days ago,
(03:34):
when a young front of her stole the ball, deflected
the ball first, no contact, there was a little contact
after she had deflected the ball. The officials did not
call it. The young lady lays it in and ifi
caller is injured, has to go through some minor surgery injured.
(03:57):
But it was not like a four guys have been
doing it in my entire life. It you could have said, yeah,
maybe blown, and you could have said with the NBA.
The NBA are so they're honest with that that if
(04:25):
a shot I kareem up Bill at your bar on
Jerry Eves and then there's contact, no call as long
as the shot. It's a physical sport, so yes there
will be collisions. The ball was deflected before the contact,
(04:46):
then there's contact. They do not have to call a file,
and they did not, So you have to go on
your own watch the call. I would say seventy five
percent of the time they would have called a file,
but not every time out every time. So after that injury,
she comes back and comes up with this personal conversation
(05:09):
that she had with Kathy Ingebert and makes a personal
statement in front of the world after the game about
everything the WNBA has done wrong, okay, and how they're
always being mistreated. So facts I steal away from all
the feelings Stephen A. Smith, all the talking heads. I'm
(05:29):
telling you, mad dog everyone. Kathy Ingelbert, the commissioner should
be fired. She didn't come back at her. She didn't
publicly say that Theficia Collier is not telling the truth.
And that's not how the conversation went, and she should have.
And I believe call youer which they nicknamed v Noficia
(05:51):
called you. That's not what Kathy Ingebert was wants to do. Guys,
let's just talking to he his lyon. That's all trying
to sell what we would say newspapers, but they're trying
to sell their programming. Here's the facts. Yes, if you
should call your did say some factual things that Caitlin
(06:14):
Clark and Angel Reese hassed increased the viewership in then
WNBA tenfold. So let me just explain something to you,
not if we should call here, she improved it, but
not to the way that it's happened the last two years.
So if you should call you was correct on that
those two players have brought the attention of the public.
(06:39):
So that's first. Second thing when we're always comparing because
they do how they're being mistreated compared to the NBA.
I played in the NBA, So I'm going to give
you all a timetable so that you can sit there
and go, Okay, explain it to me, Jerry, Why the
facts out of emotions. I'm not trying to sell my program.
(07:02):
I mean, I just want to give you all the truth.
The NBA was established in nineteen forty six, forty seven. Okay,
the starting salary was eight thousand bucks for some high
paid players nineteen forty six forty seven. I'm going to
(07:22):
use my salary. I'm telling you all for a fact.
In nineteen eighty two, which was thirty six years after
the NBA's existence started, I made forty thousand dollars. I
was the fifty fifth or fifty six players selected. Okay,
(07:43):
that's pretty good, guys, forty thousand dollars. There was no negotiation.
I was happy to have a two year deal at
forty and forty. Happy as a lark the league. It
was the first time that we were speaking about striking.
Adrian Dantley was our highest paid player, the young man
(08:05):
from Notre Dame. He made five hundred thousand dollars nineteen
eighty two. So I went to the inflation indicator because
I just wanted to find out the inflation indicator. You
have to understand, this is thirty six years in the league.
The WNBA has been in existence twenty nine years, okay,
(08:27):
from nineteen ninety six to today, twenty nine years. So minus
thirty six years inflation indicator, I would make one hundred
and thirty three thousand, six hundred dollars inflation indicator three
point three four percent. The WNBA players in their twenty
ninth year are at seventy nine thousand. Okay, there's seven
(08:50):
years removed, seven years of growth. I guarantee you. In
seven years, the rookie sapay skill for their first four
picks will be old for one hundred and thirty three
thousand dollars. I guarantee you. I guarantee. So now that
we're looking at salaries, fifty second player taking NBA WNBA,
(09:15):
it's really come to life the last two years, the
last two it's really come to life. It's taken a
life of its own. Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, let's
just be honest with this aspect. A lot of the
WNBA players don't like Caitlin Clark, and we know that
we've heard it out of their own mouths, and she
has you know, rising tides to raise all boats. Well,
(09:39):
Kaitlyn Clark is helping all of them, but some of
them don't look like it that way. Now, when you're
starting to talk about what was said and wasn't said,
the highest paid player in the WNBA today around two
hundred thousand dollars. This is twenty nine years of the
WNBA the NBA. I'm gonna stay with the nineteen eighty
(10:04):
We want to keep it the same, so I backed
it down from nineteen eighty two to nineteen seventy Where
am I nineteen seventy four, so that I'm exactly at
the twenty ninety year at threshold. You want to know,
the highest paid player was an the NBA and what
he made. His name was Kareem Abdullah Jabbar. He made
five hundred thousand dollars. That's all. So the difference between
(10:28):
the WNBA highest paid player two hundred thousand bucks and
Kareem's five hundred thousand bucks, let's do Kareem's indicator. Kareem
would have made one point six million, okay one point
six million. When a WNBA player tells me that they
have the effect that Kareem Abdula Jabbar did on the
(10:48):
world's game of basketball, then I will tell them you're correct,
you're being underpaid. But these are the facts. There's been
one year profitability in the WNBA. One year. Let me
say that again, one year of profitability in the WNBA.
The NBA has propped it up. Guys, for the first
(11:09):
twenty seven years of its existence, it did not make money.
It did not make a dime. The NBA paid the
cost they were affiliated with the NBA teams. So all
I'm telling the WNBA players, if you should call your
you don't have it as bad as you think you do.
(11:30):
I was flying on commercial flights. If you have heard
they were all complaining in their twenty ninth year how
that we don't have private planes. Well, nineteen eighty two,
again was the thirty sixth year of the NBA. There
were no private flanes in nineteen eighty two, thirty six
years of the NBA. So when I always watched young
(11:51):
athletes expressing how bad they have it, they have no idea,
they were wrong. Private planes came into true existence. When
I was an assistant coach with the New Jersey Nets,
everyone was flying privately nineteen ninety four, ninety five, guys,
almost fifty years of existence. Just being honest with you.
(12:14):
So the WMA, you're not behind, you're not being mistreated.
You've had two years of profitability. You're gonna be paid
for those. I'm happy. I have no problem with that.
But all these things you hear coming from all these players, yes,
I'm glad Kathleen Gilbert if she said it, If she
said it, worrying about officials, there's gonna be fifty percent
(12:37):
of the people that are gonna be upset about the officials,
and fifty percent or not. That's just human nature. There
are three jobs to do, and I'm getting a break. Players, play, coaches, coach, rests, officiate.
If you want to change your job, take the basketball
jersey off and officiate. I've had no problem with that.
(12:59):
So an official call you if the rest are bad,
be an official, no problem. You have the right to
do that, be an official. Corrected. But as for the WNBA,
always always whining, always complaining on how bad they have it,
They're ahead of the NBA, period, point blank. Other than
(13:20):
Kareem Abdul Jabbar's salary, which cause indicator would be one million,
six hundred and seventy thousand. I want to be honest
with you, it would be there's not a WNBA player
that's had the effect on basketball like Kareem abdul Jabbar,
Luele Sender, So stop even dreaming about it. It's Eve
Sports Radio. We'll come back seven nineteen after the break.
(13:40):
We got our games. We've got to get them in Kentucky, Georgia, Louisville.
Excuse me, Kentucky, Georgia, Louisville, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Miami, Florida State, Texas, Florida.
We'll talk to you all after the break. Welcome back
to Eves Sports Radio. October second, twenty twenty five, Thursday,
(14:04):
seven to twenty three. I've got my first caller on
the line. I'm going to get to him. But again,
the WNBA, we do not have private planes. The WNBA
is in its twenty ninth year of his distance private planes,
I would say worth throughout the NBA between the forty
(14:25):
sixth and fiftieth year, it's where the majority of the
teams were flying privately into forty five years before the
majority of the teams were flying privately. The WNBA has
been in existence twenty nine years. So again, guys, I'm
just trying to tell you everybody wants it now because
(14:46):
they think that, oh, look what the WNBA has, Look
what the NBA has. It's been a long time coming
a long time. So let's get to our first caller.
Let's bring Bland into the show. Got destroyed last week.
I can't even believe you called in. How are you doing? Blending?
Oh in five? Ye?
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Hey, hey, Jerry, I'm I'm doing well this morning. I
hope the great Shannon and you're doing well and I'm
doing I got destroyed like your Rids did last night, right, Jerry?
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Yes, my Reds went down. I'm proud of them. They
went down, but I'm proud of them.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Yeah. I heard on the I heard on the news
this morning that you had your staff at the compound
last night remove all the flags and life and plates
off your ten cars of the Reds and they're having
a fire burning at your house this morning with all
that stuff. Is that true?
Speaker 1 (15:37):
No, I'm with the Reds, Live and Die. Made the playoffs.
First step. Wait till next year, baby, wait till next year.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Yeah, and they won't. They won't have Elie because the
owners go to get rid of all this good players
like he does every year.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
You sound like Coach Beard. Could you please stop? Let
me just bask in the glory of the Reds? Can
I do that?
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Yeah? That's right? Okay, I got you.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Okay, let's get to it. Since you were zero and
five last week, you aren't the only one took a
beaten last week. I love it. The game that counts.
We have a ranked opponent, University of Louisville coming to
l and N Well, from what I read this morning
in the Career Journal, Virginia supposedly has the second best
chance of winning the ACC. I'm like, well, what happened
(16:26):
to Georgia Tech? But I'm just telling you what was
in the paper. So Louisville has a chance to defeat
a team that they have beaten three times in a row,
three times in a row, blanded And if they win
this game, they'll definitely be ranked. University of Louisville will
their favor to win this game, which again, is this
(16:48):
is this favorable for the ACC that I'm talking about
Virginia having the second best chance of winning it? Or
is it a reflection of what I've been saying now
for three or four years about the a SEC Blanded.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Just be honest, know much about it, Jerry. I don't
watch their garbage league very much, so I don't know
anything about them.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
But there you go. Well, I'm not gonna call them garbage,
but Blanding the league must improve. That's all there is
to it. I mean, when it has to something has
to give or police, it's gonna be the Dodo bird.
People are upset with me, Wait till it happens. They'll
be like, man, he's right, wait till it happens. So
let's go. We have got number twenty four ranked Virginia
(17:28):
at Louisville. Louisville has defeated them three years in a row.
What's your score, Jerry?
Speaker 3 (17:33):
I'm taking U of l thirty four or thirty one.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
I know that's good because there's just not been any
of that. Yes, we're fine. Kentucky at Georgia or Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
I gotta go with the Georgia Bulldogs.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Yes, I agree. Vanderbilt at Alabama.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Alabama, Okay, standing with the road tide.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Miami at Florida State.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Jerry, I'm in honor of my main man, Sleepless, who
I hope is listening right now. I'm going with the
Florida State Seminoles to beat Miami and end this charade
about them being ranked number three.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
If that happens, that's really a detriment to the ACC.
Everyone better. If you're an ACC fan, you better pull
for Miami. You need to keep a team in the
top ten. If Florida State beats Miami, the Miami drops
out of the top ten, and who definitely only one
team would get into the college football playoffs. Definitely, so great.
(18:40):
Thank you so last game Texas at Florida. I like
this game.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
I do too. I'm taking Texas and Jerry, my boss
is here. Can she give her scores real quick to here?
Speaker 4 (18:53):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (18:53):
You can't. Are you gonna getting the briars the bush?
Are you frightened?
Speaker 3 (18:57):
I stuck it and it didn't feel good.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
I just love that. I'm a winner. Now Mary has
cast a check from me sports Radio, but not you.
That's all I've done my job.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
I have a good day. Thank you, Jerry, have a good.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Yes you too, Mary. How are you?
Speaker 2 (19:16):
Jerry?
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Mary? I'm just so glad you cast that check and
did not give your husband a dime.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
Let's start with it.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Yea at all? There you go. Louisville favorite win rite
the opponent Saturday. I'm going to the game. Who are
you taking?
Speaker 5 (19:36):
I have Louisville twenty eight Virginia Tim Okay, there's no.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Twenty eight ten. That's fine, don'tkay. You've got to eat
Louisville winning in a laugher? Are you getting in the
Briars bush with me? Seventy five dollars week? This week's
bush and beat me is one fifty? The Briar's bush
pace nothing. It's so true. That's so true. But they're
not putting up anything. You'd rather have the seventy five? Okay, Mary,
(20:04):
I'll leave you alone. Kentucky at Georgia.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
I have Do you want to score?
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Just to just a team?
Speaker 5 (20:14):
I have Georgia beating Kentucky.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Okay. Vanderbilt at Alabama.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
I have Alabama beating Vanderbilt.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
Miami at Florida State, I have Miami over Florida State.
That's a must win for the ACC. Miami must defeat
Florida State. Texas at Florida.
Speaker 5 (20:41):
I have Texas beating Florida.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
Gotcha, Mary, I've got you down. Thank you, appreciate you, Mary,
you too, Bye bye. Gonna get to my last caller
before the break. Please bring on, Sheila. Can't even believe
my wife wants my money? Hello, baby, how are you?
Speaker 5 (21:00):
I'm good?
Speaker 1 (21:00):
How about you? Sweeties? I'm good as long as you lose,
as long as I have to payout this week, I'm
really good. The game that matters is Louiswood Virginia Virginia.
That's the game. Okay. I'm gonna go with Louisville thirty one,
Virginia seventeen, thirty seven, thirty three. You're good, okay. Next
(21:31):
game is Kentucky at Georgia. I'm going to go with Georgia.
Vanderbilt at Alabama.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
Okay, I'm going to go with the I'm gonna go
with Vandy.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
Okay, that's not a bad call. Miami at Florida State,
I'm going to go with Miami. It's a desperate hopefully
they win. There you go, and Texas for it your state?
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Do you know?
Speaker 1 (22:01):
You know what? You know where I'm going to go,
right Texas? Gotcha good? That's all I got to get
the break then now guy, Thank you about, thank you.
About ten minutes, we'll have Lee Sterling coming on with
this Paramount Sports. I want you all to know now
he has won eleven straight NFL games, eleven guys three
(22:23):
and two last week in college football, which has been
a crazy, crazy year in college football. We all know
that because I had multiple people didn't win a game
last week, multiple people. He's won eleven straight NFL games.
So Lee will be on with us at seven forty.
I'm going to my second break. This is E Sports Radio.
We'll talk to you in a minute. Welcome back to
(22:45):
EVE Sports Radio seven thirty five. I got to push through.
I got the one and only Charles on the line,
Charles walcome to esports Radio. Let's get with it. Charles.
You got Virginia. I'm good. You got Virginia ranked twenty
fourth AP in the country coming to L and N
and Louisville's almost seven point favorites. So you tell me
that means Louisville's a ranked team and Louis's got a
(23:07):
chance to win the CC. What's your opinion? What's the score, Charlie? Hello, Hello, Charlie, Charlie. Okay, yes,
give me your Louisville, Virginia.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Score Louisville thirty eight, twenty four.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Okay, no one's got that. Kentucky at Georgia, Georgia. That
was a hard one. Vanderbilt at Alabama, Alabama, Okay, road tide.
I'm staying with Vanderbilt. I'm telling you all, I'm staying
with Vandy. Undefeated. Miami at Florida State, Florida State.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
Oh, okay, Texas at Florida, Texas. I've got you down, Charlie,
I've got you down.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
Appreciate you, brother, Thank you. Hopefully you've won. You've already
won once this year. You've got a chance to get
the money. So stay in there, stay consistent. Thanks for
to call y'ack. Thank you. Here's the deal, guys, I
want to thank you. I want to throw out a
shout out before we get to a quick break because
I got Lee Starling coming on. I told you all,
he's won eleven in a row NFL games. Come on, guys.
(24:25):
In gambling, if you win fifty four percent of the time,
you're super. But I want I want to have one
shout out. I went to the so Security office yesterday
to make sure that I got sixty six ten months, guys,
I am taking my Social Security so I had to
go to the so Security office yesterday and Lily, you're
the very best. She was a Filipino lady. And the
(24:48):
only reason I'm telling you all this is because she
was sitting there going, I know you, I know you,
and I was like, no, you don't, I'm old, I
know you. And there was another gentleman named John who
grew up in Newburgh. His uncle with Ron the Ron Thomas,
Great Thomas Jefferson, University of Louisville and Colonel Player. Even
though he's a cat fan, John, I can't believe that
(25:09):
you can be Roan Thomas's family member and a cat fan,
but he is. I want to tell y'all thank you
for a great job. But all I'm going to say
is this for all the d's and ours that we love,
because I've told you all for eleven years now. It's
just a way to separate us that Lily and John
were there and we'll be working for free until we
(25:29):
get our budget worked out. Yes, they will be reimbursed.
They're not going to lose their money. But it may
be four days, it could be forty days. But they're
there at work. When are representative? Is that we elect
are being paid. That's Republican and Democrat and independent for
if there are some just so you'll know they're receiving
(25:49):
their check. How dumb are we? Don't say Republicans domb,
they're dumb. Don't say Democrats are dumb, They're dumb. Don't
say independence are dumb, they are dumb. All three of
us are dumb. How does that happen? How does that happen?
Our Republican congressman House representatives are being paid, our Democratic
(26:11):
House representatis a congressmen are being paid, But the people
doing the work, they got to wait for their money.
Because we are the dumbest and we need to change this,
We the people need to change it. Is these words
radio I'm going to break when we come back. We
have the one and only Lee Stirling. But again, how
can Lily and John be at work servicing Jerry Eve's
(26:34):
yesterday and our representatives are running around with the blame
game and we're sitting there going, yes, if I'm a
democratics the Republicans fault. If I'm a Republican, it's the
Democrat's fault. I told you we are the dumbest without
a doubt in the world. We have let what about
six hundred people run three hundred and sixty million and
(26:56):
do anything they want with us. We are a group
of Eve Sports Radio. I'll talk to you after the break.
Welcome back to EVE Sports Radio. Seven forty two. Got
the one and only least early I mean eleven eleven
straight NFL games three and two last week. Guys. Come
on now, this is easy. It's almost guaranteed money. Well,
(27:20):
welcome back to the show. How are you that's crazy, Leli,
I'm that's crazy. Yep, I see yep.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
Eleven straight in the NFL, we hit our We also
hit our forty unit college play on Saturday. I hate
to say it was against the Wildcats. We had South
Carolina lane five and a half and then won thirty
five thirteen. So we're rolling. We have our biggest play
of the season going this weekend, forty five unit play
(27:51):
and our forty to fifty plays with that win last
week or now seventy three and twenty nine, So anyone
wants to hop on now is the time. Also in
the UFC, biggest card ever in one weekend, we have
a forty and a fifty unit play seven selections fifty
seven bucks. If you're not with us, now is the time.
(28:12):
We are absolutely rolling. Just go to Paramount sports dot com.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Explain to me unit plays. I'm sorry, I just go ahead.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
So what I do is I rate my selections from
ten to fifty units. That way, someone knows has a
gauge on how to bet. Flat betting really isn't the
way to go, because if you're any good at this,
you're bigger plays that you feel strongly about. You have
more information, more data, more things that I've seen studying games.
(28:47):
Being a former college quarterback, I'm going to win at
a higher rate. So what I do is, let's say
someone is, say ten to fifty dollars better if I
put out a twenty five unit play, you should just
do exactly what it is. Twenty five dollars if it's
a forty unit played, but forty dollars if they are
ten times at so let's say they are, let's say
(29:11):
they're one hundred to five hundred, then you go two
fifty on a twenty five unit, just added zero.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
I got you, it's yeah, I appreciate that.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
Till now you got it down. You got it down.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
Yes, I understand I'm glad you told me, though I
just didn't, and I'm sure there are a lot of
people that did not. Now that you related to us,
it makes a li of sense. Well, all I know
is that you sent eleven straight's crazy and you're rolling
and these games. I had multiple people last week in
my contest did not win a game. So great that
(29:46):
are very good at this. I want people to understand it.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
Well, there was a lot. There was a lot of games, Jerry.
There was a ton of games that ended with half
point losses. For instance, Texas A and M dominated the game.
I mean, they were clear the better team. They're laying
six and a half and they win by six. Why
because of that that interception return that totally They're they're
going in for a score and what happens, you know,
(30:11):
the ball gets intercepted. They tried one of those flanker
flanker screens and instead of three or seven points one way,
it's it's the guy almost takes it to the house,
goes sixty five seventy yards and gets tackled at the
two yard line. They take it in from there. So
there was a ton of those games that ended with
(30:32):
with the week before Oklahoma and Auburn, so you know,
the safety, the safety made the difference and the spread there.
So yeah, we can have some of those, you know
those sometimes those happened, but we're trying to stay away
from those, you know, flip the coin games.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Yes, no, because I had multiple people in my little
five game contest they weighed or nothing. They just have
a chance to win, did not win a game. It
was difficult. Last week's good with it? Clemson Devil Sweeney,
North Carolina, Bill Belichick. I don't know who they're going
to watch the tea that they're both awful. What's your opinion?
Speaker 5 (31:14):
They both come off of byes, so you know, probably
Bill had to take his girlfriend, you know, away to
some some cabin and they're reading poetry or something to
each other. So I mean a guy's going off the
deep end. If if if I was married and my
wife wanted to talk to me for ten minutes before
the game, I'm like, listen, now's not the time. You know,
(31:34):
we'll talk after the game we get home. So if
we're talking football now, So yeah, the guy he is,
he is, he is certainly in a bad place right now.
Well not to him, he thinks he's pretty good. They're
going pretty good. But around him. If I was his kid,
(31:57):
if I was his son, I'd say, listen, you know,
did make some changes here. So so another week for
Antonio Williams to regain his health and form and get
that chemistry going.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (32:09):
Their defense really has not been the issue. I like
the fact that North Carolina's finally turning to Max Johnson.
Maybe he wasn't one hundred percent, that's why he didn't start,
but he is clearly, in my opinion, the best option here.
So just the key for the key for anyone who
works in North Carolina. Keep the girlfriend away from the
(32:29):
mad scientists here. I think Clemson's gonna win twenty seven
to twenty, but more than fourteen points, Are you kidding me?
I'll take the points here, North Carolina and hold my nose.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
I know. I love that Alabama Vanderbilt very good game.
That's one of my games. Very good game. Bandy beat
the last year at Vandy Alabama.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
Right, this is a this is this is I mean,
it's game day and then they picked it out as
the best game of the week, and it could be
that way. Vandy won last year forty thirty five, as
when Alabama was a twenty three point favorite. So to
understand the size of that upset last week, you have
(33:17):
to understand the points right. Very rarely do you see
anything above like twelve to fifteen points. Whill you see
an outright upset Before that, though Alabama had outscored Vanderbilt
one hundred and forty eight to three three previous meetings.
If you think Vanderbilt has better talent or close, you're
on some hallucinogenics. Vanderbilt is one in own conference play,
(33:40):
but let's look deeper into where they are. They benefited
when South Carolina's quarterback Lenora Sellers went out with a concussion.
They only threw for one hundred and seventy seven yards
in that game. I think that that Bama is going
to force Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia to beat them throwing
the football. Last week you saw Ty Simpson. This guy
(34:02):
is surging right now. Confidence, he's seeing the field well,
distributing the ball his wide receivers outside of Ohio State's
trio there right there. Remember Utah State through for two
hundred seventy four yards on Vanderbilt. So I think the
airways here are going to be open for Bama here
to hit on numerous big plays, So I just think
(34:24):
that there's value here. The line opened at thirteen and
a half. People are betting Vanderbilt. It's down to ten
and a half now, I think payback as you know what,
Alabama big thirty eight twenty okay, excellent.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
I did not know that they've been betting the line down,
so it's a ten and a half.
Speaker 5 (34:42):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Georgia Kentucky, I mean I feel for Kentucky. They're going
one of the toughest schedules in the country. Georgia is
trying to come back after that Alabama laws, I mean
Kentucky at Georgia. Excuse me? What goes on?
Speaker 5 (34:55):
What do you think? What do you think the chances
are the Stoops gets fired this year?
Speaker 1 (35:01):
It's starting to grow. Yes, And one of the reasons
why it is the frustration with his pay and his buyout.
They're more upset with the amount of money he makes
nine and a half in the thirty eight to forty
million dollars buyout than they are the team. I just
think that his pay got a little too high for
the production. That he's done a great job. I don't
roll over on stoops. He has struggled the last three
he has But I think it's high. I think it's
(35:24):
really high that he'll lose his job.
Speaker 5 (35:25):
Yeah, well, I agree, and I think that if they
want to join the arms race and they want to
stay out of the cellar in the sec they're gonna
have to start poning up. Pay him off, Bring someone in,
Bring someone like John Gruden, bring some excitement. I'm not
saying he's going to be there eight ten years. You
get someone like that or someone is similar, who can
(35:46):
at least play offensive football. You know, in the past,
they had some coaches in the past that could do that,
so that that would That's what I would do. Here's
the problem. Now, poor Kentucky. They're on the road for
a second straight week. They've got to face a pull
dog team licking their wounds after they lost at home.
Thirty three home game losing streak is over, and they
(36:09):
got brised by South Carolina. They threw for just one
hundred and twenty four yards, so they also can't run
two point six yards per carry on the ground. So
you got to score points to win right now. Defense
is great, you know they're playing hard, but just don't
have the to you know, unless Georgia just their offense
is just totally off. I don't see it. I like
(36:30):
Georgia here, I'm gonna lay the points, got to lay
twenty and a half. I think they win thirty seven
to thirteen.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Excellent Miami and Florida State. Now we're in your state,
big game in the ACCA, huge game.
Speaker 5 (36:44):
Yeah. So if I was Florida State and I win
the toss, I would take collect the ball. I think
someone's got to put some pressure on Miami's team. You're
down and Miami just they'll just keep their patient. You
saw on the Florida game, just took their time even
though they're only up from Florida closed it to a
six point game. Just run the football. Their offensive line
(37:06):
with Oregon, those in my opinion, are the two best
offensive lines, and Florida State's defensive line. They give up
two hundred and eleven rushing yards to Virginia. Who was
miss Virginia two starting missing two starting offensive line lineman.
So yep, they were missing two of them. Miami was
(37:27):
minus twenty one last year. They won thirty six to fourteen.
I think Miami's better this year, so is FSU. But
are they close to the top ten where they were
ranked before the game last week. I don't think so
here under a touchdown, I think it's a Miami call.
Should be a good game though. Miami thirty one to
twenty three.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Yeah, four and a half points. Yes. Surprised me with
Miami Virginia. When Virginia beat Florida State, Yes, last week,
I was like, this is just the ACC is so topsy.
They're just Clemson's last idea. Louis was undefeated, I mean,
and Louis has a chance. Louis was favorite to beat
the right component. I'll let you know that this league
(38:08):
is crazy right now. The ACC is crazy. Louisville Virginia, Yeah,
it is what transport it is just what I think.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
I think this is going to be an interesting game here.
I don't know if Virginia can get back up after
what happened last week. I mean, that was the biggest
win in that program's last thirty years, let's be honest.
So it looked like I watched both games live. Sometimes
I tape games. If I want to see both games live,
(38:37):
I could obviously watch a Friday Saturday. I made the
conscious joints to watch that game early there weren't many
great games, but uh, they were losing. I mean seventeen
to nothing. I mean Pittsburgh had them. The difference was
the pressure. Now, they didn't only sack them. And I
just checked pressure rates when I'm studying the game, and
that was some of my notes. You know, the person
(38:58):
might say, oh, pitt blew it well. Louisville's defensive line
was putting pressure on the quarterback. Their top six in
the country there. So I think that Chandler Morris is
gonna have some moments. The guy's twenty five years old.
He's been good wherever he's been. And but I think
the running back position, I think that I was looking
(39:19):
at Virginia's defense to the beginning of the year and
I said, they don't have any plus defenders, no one
in the top half any position. No guys will make
it to the next level. And I still feel that way.
I think that's the difference here. I think Louisville just
beats him up up front. Here. I like Louisville. I
think they win and cover this game thirty five to
twenty four.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
Tell me something. Louisvilleuldn't run the ball against Pittsburgh, did
that surprise you at all. I mean they.
Speaker 5 (39:45):
No, not really, I thought they could do it. I mean,
obviously we're gonna have to have Miller Moss play clean.
You know, he can't have two or three interceptions. If
he has one interception or less, they should be fine.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (39:57):
Also, no, I'm not gonna be able. I'm not going
to the game. Two fridays from now, I am. I
take a national show, a handicapping show that's heard throughout
the country now called Picking the Lock. So are you
coming in on Thursday or Friday?
Speaker 1 (40:10):
I'm coming in on Friday, Thursday, Friday morning, six am.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
So we're gonna have to do And when do you
come back? When do you go back?
Speaker 1 (40:18):
Sunday night? Not am.
Speaker 5 (40:21):
We might have to meet on Saturday. We might have
to meet Saturday somewhere.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
All right, all right, we'll get breakfast something. Okay, problem,
let's get to the right good And I'm the Ravens Texans,
and nobody's a bigger Lamar and Jackson fan than myself.
But things have to change now. It is what it is.
Harball Lamar with his approach, not as far, he's not
playing poorly. He had two turnams against Kansas Okay, it's
not that, but his approach. I'm I'm tired of the
(40:46):
grill and the gold grill in his mouth of diamond.
I want to see leadership. I want to see Now
we won't win a super Bowl and they no one
has taught him yet. It takes everything. What's your opinion?
Speaker 5 (40:57):
Yeah, yeah, they're gonna They're gonna have to change the
approach and it comes from within and it's not just talent.
So yeah, you can't just go to the sideline throw
your helmet down. Gotta walk over to your teammates, say hey,
I'm that was on me. We're coming back strong and
get them fired up. So anyone wants to get involved.
Biggest weekend ever a Paramount Sports with all these huge
(41:19):
