Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome back to the Sports Radio. October the seventh, twenty
twenty five, Tuesday. It is raining. I will be a
meteorologist for you today, raining sixty five degrees. Cover up.
That's all that I can tell you. Cover up. Leave
on time. Roads will be slick, really slick, being honest
(00:21):
with you, just just enough rain to turn that dirt
into a little slush and people will be sliding into
each other. So make sure you get out of here
early and be safe. Other people's loved ones are out
there also, remember that. But welcome back to the show.
This is Esports Radio and I am the brand. Phone
number is five zero two five seventy nine hundred, and
(00:41):
yes I got a little raspy voice. It happens. That's
five zero two five seven one seventy nine hundred. This
is Sports Talk seven to ninety. We've got Shennon behind
the glass like always waiting for us calls. And yes,
we're going to get into the games. We'll have Scott
will have fish lets, you know, the games of the week.
(01:02):
And yes, I lost one hundred and fifty dollars under
a technicality. Technicality. I want to know if I can
get off on a technicality we'll have to see. We'll
take it to court. We'll take it to court and
see what they say. But anyway, Eastwards Radio lost Scott,
welcome to the show.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
How are you.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I'm doing great, coach. How are you coach? Like you're
giving up your coach? You're not giving up your money's
got hold it.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
It's all how you look at it. It's all how
you look at it. Yes, I went in town and country.
Billy Hayes gave me a great sponsorship, and Billy Hayes
pays me, and then I pay people. But Scott, I
still when it touches my bank account, well my hands
get sticky. It's got to get sticky, all right, jelly
all over, syrup all over.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Trust me. Every time I dribble your check to the bank,
I hope, I hope. I'm pray it clears.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Uh, Scott, My checks, all my checks clear, Scott, trust me.
I just don't I like them to bounce around on you.
Oh but they're all clear periods, that's all. But yes,
I got to write a check. He call in today, Greg,
you got me for one fifty you know you did.
He was one of my last callers, Scott, one of
the last callers nipped me and I'll tell people why.
(02:22):
But we'll get to that. You'll take care of that
in the second. First thing, though, Scott, I've got to
make a couple announcements. First thing, and rightfully so. Golfing
buddy of mine, as you well know, Scott, when I
was in the head coach of North Carolina A and T,
I would go to Pinehurst. I would play Pinehurst too,
with Junior Bridgeman and Wade Houston and Billy Harmon and
(02:45):
all the guys, and we went all over the country.
I went everywhere playing golf. Of those guys, even to
where junior wood flyers playing in picked me up. Just
they like to laugh at me, Scott, that's all. I'm
just dead. You have to have the one guy who
can't play. But I didn't care. I still went for free, Scott.
I played every great course almost in America. But the
late great Junior Bridgeman University of Louisville is going to
(03:07):
officially retire his number ten, which when concord with I
appreciate that, Josh Hurd, but everyone knows that Junior Bridgman
did a fantastic job for University of Louisville. Himself, his family.
I mean, without a doubt, he was a class act.
Last time he was on the show, Scott, we were
(03:28):
talking about he bought part ownership of the Bucks, and
I like, I told you all guys, I know Junior Bridgmand.
I still know him. He's still with me. He said
that they Well, the report was he bought ten percent. So, Scott,
Junior doesn't buy ten percent of anything. That's what he
told me a long time ago. I wanted to get
He says, if you can only buy ten percent, don't buy.
(03:50):
So on my show, you know me, Scott, I'm no good.
I said, jb you don't never buy ten percent. Why
did you buy ten percent? He answered? He said, no, Jerry,
I've got thirty three percent voting rights just like the
other two owners. I've got da da da da da.
So he only bought ten percent, but he was a
complete partner in the deal. I said, well, that's the
(04:11):
Junior Bridgeman I know, because he's the one who told
me if you can't have controlling interest or at least fifty,
you don't want it, period one blank. You want to
be able to dictate your course of your business. So
I asked you we hang up, Scott shows over. About
five minutes after that, my phone rings. JV's like, you
dirty rascal. I said, you told me you never probably,
(04:34):
he said, I don't want people to know, but he
had complete voting rights, just like a full fledged, full
fledged owner. So great job, Louisville. That game is going
to be the Memphis December thirteenth game at home, and
I will definitely be there, definitely to honor a Junior
(04:55):
Bridgeman period, point blank. And Scott Love was had great players,
I mean great players, and you start talking about the
west Son cells, Butch Beards, Daryl Griffiths, got me, Rodney
mccrage People don't want to give Ridney his due, but
Ridney mccraig, when you look at total totality of his
(05:17):
career NBA games played, final appearances, about NBA final appearances,
he four. Junior Bridgmand's five guys. I'm telling you, Derek
Smith is in that ballpark, Charlie Tyray. But Junior is
definitely a first teamer without a doubt. So basketball wise,
(05:39):
we know what he did. Business wise that was just incredible.
But basketball, I want people to know, super athlete efficient
with his jump shot, jumped out of the gym, get
running any offense, knew everything, was a coach on the
floor without the ball. Just a well of a guy period,
(06:00):
excellent golfer and just truly a great, very very good
friend to Jerry. So they will be doing that also, Scott,
fifty years let's you know how quickly time passes. The
late great Muhammad Ali fought the Thriller in Manila, Scott
fifty years ago this week. Okay, And I remember watching that.
(06:22):
I mean not why that's that's not true. It was paid.
You had to go to the closed circuit. That's a lie.
I know what my dad told me, who went and
watched the closed circuit I think at Convention Center wherever
they used to air those things, and came back so
excited about the fight. And of course you know he
was a Muhammad Ali guy. My dad went to Central
High School and like everyone did African Americans, and so
(06:44):
hearing about that. But Scott, I'll never forget. Just basketball
is taking me everywhere, going to the Philippines in nineteen
eighty six, eighty seven to play basketball and saying this
is where Ali and frays your fault Alania Alenetta Coliseum
in the Philippines in Manila is where they played the PBA,
(07:07):
the Philippine Basketball Association games, and I just remember walking
in there going this is where Ali and Fraser fault.
Just just amazing. Basketball has done so much for me,
period point blank. That's why I much given much expected.
But yes, fifty years ago today or this weekend, Muhammed
Ali fault that thriller in my noah, so I wanted
(07:28):
to get that out. Also. Now here's the deal, scout.
We had seven thirteen and I threw it out yesterday
and I'm going to finish it now so we can
just get to fun sports thing. But some things have
to be talked about, and this is one of them.
We all know what has transpired now, what has happened
with Kyrien Lacey, the young man who played for LSU
(07:50):
that ended up taking his life. There's circumstance that was
being he was a pressure, was being a plug that
he had nothing to do with. But he could not
handle it. He could not go the course gout. He
did not believe in the system. And I want people
(08:11):
to I want to explain something to ye, so said,
I want to explain to people the system. This is facts. Now,
this is not my hearsay. Another gentleman I don't want
to forget. On December seventeen, twenty twenty four, Herman Hall,
seventy eight year old gentleman who fought in two Vietnam Wars,
two for due process and the right free speech and
(08:34):
all the above, was also lost his life. I don't
want to forget him in an accident, a car accident,
but Kyle Lazy had nothing to do with it, period
point blank. So I wanted you to understand that you
heard yesterday about Tyler Warren, the police officer that was
coaching a witness to say that the charger had something
(08:57):
to do with it. And honestly, Officer Warner is a liar,
period point blank, should not be a police officer, should
give that union for him up every case that's touching
African American, you gotta look at every case. He is
a liar, period point blank. You're hearing in person, and
I'm gonna play it for you one more time because
I want you out to hear from trying to coach
(09:19):
a witness that told him, m the car behind me
caused that accident. The witness told him, so he didn't
even take the witness's statement. He lied wrote his own statement.
He is a liar, period, point blank, should not be
a police officer. So again, for about a minute and
a half, I want you all to listen to the
(09:41):
police officer trying to coach a witness to write what
he wanted so that they could charge Kyrien Lacy. So
please play it for me again, Shannon.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
So look, don't worry about filling any of this top information,
like your name, don't worry about any of that.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Just right here, if you could, I'll just have you
right exactly what you saw. Just make sure to include
you know where you were.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
I don't even know the name of it's ony, how
it's one.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
You know that you're just all right mad, And.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
Just make sure you add in there that, uh, you
had to slam on your brakes and the brakes like
you know, you had to slam on the brakes to
avoid that charger and the brakes locked up to avoid
that charger.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
That's that wasn't really going with me, yea, they in
the back of me. She is always happening. That's how
she called that record. She were running in the back
of me and she put on the other shop. So
but the charger was coming, Shannon, That's all I need.
M That's all I need. Guys. That was his name
is Tyler Lawrence. You cannot be a police officer, period,
(10:46):
point blank. He was trying to coach the witness. You
had to slam on your brakes. Well the video if
you went in research, did you ever seen the video
that he did not have to slam on the brakes
came to an easy stop. Like he told him, I
did not even have a skid mark. Tell him you
slamed on your brakes to avoid that charger. He's lying.
(11:07):
Here's the problem that I want everybody to understand, because
I am an African American. Here's the problem that nobody wants
to hear. The tough of the ointment in the room
that people don't want to touch. Is this Tyler Warren
is a police officer. He's got a police sergeant, he's
got a police captain, he got a police chief. Nobody
(11:29):
said no, no, The district attorney did say not enough evidence.
The district attorney said not enough evidence, I wouldn't review.
Pulled it up so you all would know. Disc attorney
investigate and prosecutes crimes on the behalf of the government
you got me. It must uphold state law and ensure
(11:50):
justice for all parties. That's the district attorney's job, all parties.
So the system completely failed kyleran Lacy completely. That's why
this is so difficult for African Americans. Let me give
it to you again. Police officer, police sergeant, police captain,
(12:14):
police chief, district attorney. They went still without the district
attorney asking for the got a warrant for a judge anyway,
and the judge, who didn't look at the evidence or
listened to Officer Warner, tried to get the gentleman who
was behind the wreck, who said, the lady behind me
(12:35):
calls the wreck. She swerved and ended up killing Herman Hall.
It's not what he wanted to hear. It's not what
they wrote. So guys, when the entire system fails, do
not say it's the same African Americans overreact. It would
have been okay if the system would have caught Tyler
Warren's live, but it didn't. It did not. That's why
(13:00):
there's an issue. That's why so I want to read
to you what the young man was going through. Newspaper
January the tenth, Herban Hall seventy eight years old, spent
his entire life being proud of fighting for his country.
The doubting father, grandfather of a loved neighbor, was a
(13:21):
friend of all. His daughter, Heather Dickerson, remembers Hall lost
his life December seventeen, twenty twenty four, when Louisiana State
Police said twenty four year old Kira and Lacy were
swerving in and out of lanes on Highway twenty and Chickabay,
causing two vehicles to crash head on into each other.
(13:41):
So guy just went out of doubt, one hundred percent alive,
one hundred percent fabricated. Yes, down the road three and
a half miles. He passed cars. He did. We had
absolutely nothing to do in the video, which you all
have seen if you researched it, anything to do. So
when you have the entire system collapse, guys, that's why
(14:04):
we're here. We're all here together. But guys just understand,
like people are are Americans too, and the laws are
supposed to apply to us also. That's all now, sidebar.
We all know what's going on. We heard Charlie Kirk,
we heard all the deal and everything with it. I
didn't get into it at all Sports show. But all
(14:27):
I want to say to people, I just want you
to think if Jerry's flipped the script and said the
exact same thing Charlie Kirk said, but about Caucasians, white Americans,
I wonder if I'd be honored. That's all I'm saying,
the exact same thing. Don't change it, don't frame it.
I just changed the words the African American flip exactly
(14:50):
what Charlie said. I said just the opposite. I'm sure
I'd be honored. We all know I wouldn't be You
all know that, we know that nows we need to
come together. Now, last piece for I go to break
Mark Sanchez. I've never met Mark Sanchez. I listened to it.
(15:12):
Thought he did that adequate job. They're better than adequate job.
I never thought that he did a poor job. So
I'm gonna say he did an excellent job. Has an
altercation with a sixty nine year old truck driver. Okay,
he says he has no recollection. I don't drink, Guys,
I don't drink for that reason. You're never gonna if
you ever see that someone said they stopped me because
(15:33):
I was drunk. That's a lie. But I'm not saying
my dad did so. I was proud of my dad,
So I'm not saying that there's an issue with drinking.
But he was out of control. He's been arrested now
for bodily harm to a sixty nine year old truck
driver doing his job. Okay, that happens. Here's why I
(15:53):
want to talk to you about it. Now about Mark Sanchez.
I want to talk to you about Dan docketts statement.
Dan Docketch have to be heard about it on Saturday.
First thing Dan Dockett's statement is this fatherless African American
boys taking over the city. I told you all this
was gonna happen. Dan doctors han't made an apology, has that,
(16:19):
Buttle had absolutely nothing to do with African American males.
That's the first thing that came on his Twitter account.
I don't mind if people think it, but when you
write it, you got to stand behind you. Those are
his exact words. Fatherless African American boys taken over Indianapolis, India,
(16:39):
not Indianapolis. So guys, I give Dan doctch your pass.
When Bruce Pearl was on his show talking about all
the issues after Charlie kirk'sy death all the issues. I
didn't say anything about Dan Doctis, but then not within
three weeks, Dan Docts has shown me now where he stands,
(17:00):
point blank. So what did that have to do with
any African Americans. Nothing? But that's the thought process. So
I'm not gonna go through where are the actual stats?
Because everybody knows what the actual stats are in the
United States, but nobody says it. It's always always us. So, guys,
I just want to let you know, African Americans are
(17:20):
Americans too. We do live here and we should get
the same respect that everyone else gets. That's all. So, Scott,
we're gonna go to break when we come back. We're
gonna get into who owe money too? Because I do
owe money. It's the sports Radio. We'll talk to you
in a minute. Welcome back to sports radio. Guys. I
(17:41):
can't believe it's already seven to twenty seven. Scott. I'm
gonna throw at you. You've got to go on and
give him the games for this week so someone else
can get another. Well, it's not one hundred and fifty
dollars week this week, it's back to fifty. If you
get in the briars Bush it's worth a hundred Scott,
I just lost one hundred and fifty bucks. I'm still shaking,
kind of got withdrawals.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
Yeah, that's a lot of money for you.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Greg. Okay, Greg, Hey, Scott, we've already got the winner
waiting for me. Let's bringe. Don't Greg to the show? Hey, Greg?
Can I make.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
Hey once?
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Man?
Speaker 4 (18:24):
There you go?
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Hey? Did you know you went five and old last week?
Did you know that I did?
Speaker 3 (18:32):
I did?
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Yeah, I did. I figured I had a good shot
because I had twenty eight to twenty four Virginia. You
took the hunderds, so I did.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
But I got a technicality on this overtime rules. I
didn't tell you the overtime rules, did I? If there's
no overtime, would I've gotten you?
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (18:53):
Yeah, Greg?
Speaker 1 (18:55):
You hurt me? Man? No, Greg, congratulations, My checks don't bounce.
Is this the first time you've ever won anything for me? Yeah?
First time it is. It'll be a pass too, it'll
be the last you.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
And you know what, Jerry, I'll tell you what, Jake.
I will let you keep it if you make Rocky
Top your official song of play it before every break
and every time you come back.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
You have your check in the mail.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
You're checking the mail.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
It's going out today, not going, Scott, Rocky Top is
a Tennessee thing. I love giving Kentucky fans a hard
time where they get ready to play Tennessee. But honestly,
my Cardinals played in Tennessee this year and last. I
don't like them either. I like Barnes, but I don't
like Tennessee. University of Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Well you are, I'm going.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
I'm gonna go there. Yeah, I'm going. I'll have I'm sorry,
I know.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
We know that. So Greg, you'll be leaving your address.
Of course, you'll leave your dress with Shannon so I
can get you check out. I'll bail it out today.
And since you're not gonna let me do fifty dollars
a week, you're not gonna let me fifty dollars a week?
Speaker 4 (20:13):
You how are you gonna do it? I don't care.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
No, No, you'll get it all at one time. Now,
here's the deal. Are you gonna start off the week?
Are you gonna wait again? What are you going to do?
Speaker 4 (20:26):
I'm ready?
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Okay, that's all I'm That's all I wanted to know, Scott.
These are the games, so everyone one knowstt you were
going to give them out, but not now. The first
game you get to choose. You get to choose between
Indiana number eight at Oregon number two, number one, Ohio
State at number twenty to Illinois number ten, Alabama at
(20:52):
number nineteen, Missouri number five, Oklahoma at Texas. Texas, They're
gonna do anything they have to beat Oklahoma would say,
we'll not do. But those are the four games you
you and your Tennessee was. I don't like Arkansas well enough,
we're not putting them in. It's a four game week
this week, and you all better beat the.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
Yeah, and I will tell you this next week. You
can just make it right now. The game we're gonna
pick us. Uh, Tennessee at Alabama.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Oh, I like that? Now that, Yeah, you won't get away.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
No, h We're gonna go to Indiana and Oregon. I
think it's the best game.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Okay, great, I like that. What is your score? Indiana Oregon?
Speaker 4 (21:39):
Oregon's gonna win the game. Indiana's having a great gear.
My dad's a huge AU fan, so I pull for them.
But uh, I think Oregon is a better team. Morgan
in Miami. I think are the two best teams in
the country right now. Uh, okay, I must I'm gonna
say Oregon's gonna win the game. It's gonna be high scoring.
I'm gonna say it's gonna be uh thirty eight thirty five.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Gotcha, Oregon. I've got you now. Are you getting in
the briars bush with me?
Speaker 3 (22:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Of course I'm going under thirty seven thirty five? Got
you now? Ohio State Illinois. I only need the winner.
Ohio State at Illinois.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
I'd give anything to say Illinois, but Ohio State gonna win.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Okay, you know, I'm just out of an Ohio State fan,
but they win. Jeffrey Howard, my friend, one of my
best friends, is a big Buckeye fan, and we go
through airports and you hear that old hi Oe junk.
I'm like, I don't want to hear that stuff.
Speaker 4 (22:40):
But anyway, Alabama ad Missouriabamas.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Okay, Oklahoma at Texas.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
Oh Oklahoma's gonna roll.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Oklahoma can Texas? Turning around? Is man ain't going to
be able to develop this year? Everybody's rolling over on
Scott right away. Guys, he's just about to stay in
college and develop. He's got a chance.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
Yeah, he's just got a he's.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Walk in walk out, but he's.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
Got Yes, he's got he's got the bloodline.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Man.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
They just gotta give him time.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Because he's got I just hope that I hope everyone
does it and so does he. I hope that he
understands it's a progress a process. But Greg, I've got
you down the game. Everyone knows it is Indiana at Oregon.
You've got it. Thirty eight Oregon, thirty five Indiana. Leave
your dress, leave your dress, greag so the week and
(23:41):
get that checkout. I'm not gonna take a dollar a week.
I almost send it to you all at once. Congratulations,
Thanks for playing. Thank you man. All right, So Scott
seven thirty three, we're gonna stay on task. We're gonna
get the break come back, and then you're gonna hit
us with all the national news before we get into
(24:03):
University of Kentucky and coach stoops in Mitch Barnhart situation.
Talk to you all in a second. Welcome back to
the Sports Radio seven thirty six. Guys, It's October the seventh.
Christmas is less than eighty days away? Can you believe it?
I just want to see it. Guys, that told you
I'm not worried about gifts. I give out gifts. We
(24:26):
buy toys for everybody. I'm old now, but I sure
remember getting those gifts at a kid. Boy, I was
so happy. So if you can make a kid happy,
please do on Christmas. That's all. That's all that matters.
Don't worry about adults and just kids. It's just a
great time for kids anyway, Scott. We write my second
caller on Scott before we go to Nashville News. I
(24:46):
gotta get him on. Steve. Welcome to the show.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
How are you hey, Jerry, Hey Scott, how you gotta doing?
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Man?
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Doing great? How are you great?
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Let me tell you something because I want to let
everybody know kind of where you are in the contest. Steve.
This is really really good. I've got everybody and the
leading guys like at twenty two. A lot of people
at twenty, but Steve, you're at nineteen.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
I've got you three and one seven.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Okay, there you go. I just wanted guys, I got
everybody's scoring. I want you all to know. Hey, Scott,
I got my paper. You know me, Scots, I drawn
up on plane. I'm not a computer guy, but I've
got them exactly. I've got you down, so you're excuse me.
The Leader's twenty one. I got people at twenty. I
got guys at twenty, I got twenty one. I've got
eighteen nineteens. I mean it's packed. Everybody's and the Leader
(25:40):
right now is branded, not Blanding branded. So I just
want you all to know. But there's so many people,
even Martin, Martin Barr's got he's got nineteen wins. I
can't believe he's in it. But guys, I do all
have it. So Steve, if I just wanted to let
you know, I do have your score, and I've got
it correct. So when people call in, I will tell
(26:01):
you all, probably in about three weeks, I'll tell you
against Steve where you are, so you know the game.
The game is Indiana, Oregon, and there's no games of this.
Whoever wins has the most wins, right, that's the most consistent.
Five hundred dollars, y'all should love Billy Haynestown and Country.
That's all I know. Five hundred dollars is a good contest.
(26:23):
To God, five hundred dollars is a good that's a
good giveaway, period, point blank. For a little bitty boy
for a little bitty boy. So let's go, Steve, Indiana Oregon.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Who do you have like.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Oregon to win thirty two to twenty five?
Speaker 1 (26:38):
Okay, are you going to get in the bush or
stay out?
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Stay out?
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Okay, got you? Next game? Only need the winner. Ohio State,
Illinois number one against number twenty two.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Right give me Ohio State.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
I take that game. It'll be a round after Indiana,
it'll be a round. Alabama at Missouri. That's not around.
That's a very good game.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Right, give me the Alabama?
Speaker 1 (27:06):
Gotcha? Has Alabama? Has the board turned it around? Has
he turned it around?
Speaker 2 (27:13):
I don't know, we'll see.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
I mean, well, Georgia between the hedges, beating Georgia then
coming back beating Vanderbilt. I have a little bit more
confidence in them now. I thought Vanderbilt would get them
off of the higher. Beating Georgia at Georgia between the hedges.
I'm starting to believe in Alabama getting Oklahoma at Texas.
Oklahoma at Texas, Texas.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
I went back and forth on this one. Uh, I'm
gonna go hang this. Uh Texas they're.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
At home, Yes, they're at home. Yes, I know.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Oklahoma thanking sex in the country. But I'm gonna go
ahead and go with Texas.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Okay, gotcha. No, Texas, their quality team were right number one.
Everyone expected them the role. They do have quality talent,
so they could get this thing turned around. I just
think that Lanning has to settle down and start to
play a little better in crucial times. That's the key.
He doesn't deliver when they have to have the one drive.
(28:14):
That's the problem. But Steve, I've got you down, brother,
and I've got your scored. M thank you. Yes, So Scott,
let's go to Nasay News. We've got so much going
on football, baseball. I mean, golly, the Dodgers off to
a two oh start, the Yankees go tonight. What's going on?
Speaker 3 (28:34):
That's a great time of year for sports. You got
the end of Major League Baseball. College football is ramping up,
the NFL's ramping up, NBA is about to kickoff. I mean,
it's a great time to just be a sports fan
and somebody who just loves to watch all the different sports.
(28:55):
This is it. I mean, you got the Cubs and
Brewers last night. The Cubs jumped out a three run
lead in the first inning and the Brewers come right
back and tied up at three and then hit another
three run homer later on in the game. So they
take a commanding two oh lead going into the games
(29:18):
in Chicago. Same thing with the Dodgers. The Dodgers. You know,
I hate to say, my mom's a big Phillies fan.
I know this is this is hurting her right now.
But many there's an old saying, you know, to be
the man, you gotta beat the man. And the Dodgers
show why they are the men, and they find ways.
(29:40):
All their players are stepping up. Unfortunately, the Phillies top
players aren't. You know, Bryce Harper, I think may only
have one hit. Kyle Schwarber, who was drug out MVP candidate,
hasn't even gotten a hit yet, and he struck out
late in the game where they could have really used
him to come through. And just a yeah. But you know,
(30:04):
they won some games. They clinched their division in l
A while they were out there, So going out to
l A, they can win out there for sure, so
hopefully they can turn it around.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
And you know, it was zero zero through six, It
was zero zero through six. It wasn't like the Dodgers
had control of that game. That was a pitching duel.
Here's the problem.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
Oh no, absolutely, I'm telling you so absolutely.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
In Mookie Bets and Freddy Freeman, they start their three boy,
I mean, they got three tough outs. The Dodgers do
they really do. Mookie Bets is really good. I mean
they're good. I mean, well, they spend all the money
in the world, they should be good. But they are
really good. Dodgers are really dead.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
But their top.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
Man, h.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
I don't know if you've seen, Uh, the crew on
Fox is great because you've got Derek Jeter, You've got
Alex Rodriguez, and he got Big Poppy on there. Big
Poppy is a big killing the Yankees right now.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
He said.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
He brought out the team that needed to beat Toronto
and it was Yogi bearra Babe, ruth A Rod Derek Jeter.
He said, that's the only way they're beating Toronto. If
they bring all those guys back, that's awful. But Toronto their.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Bats, Yes, yeah, they'd get to the World Series last year.
Their bats can get hot and if they hit the ball, absolutely,
but if they don't, they struggled even field the ball struggle.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Yeah, it's a it's a tough tough thing that you
know to be a Yankees fan, because they're, like you said,
they're so up and down. But again, they they're at home,
so that's the that's the most important thing right now.
They're at home, and everybody plays better at home. So hopefully,
you know, they can figure something out with Toronto and
(32:12):
Snika a win. And tonight also you've got Detroit at
the Mariners who were tied at one to one. So again,
great time to be a sportsman. And you know you
I said earlier, and you know, to be the man,
you got to beat the man. Well, looks like the
Kansas City Chiefs are no longer the men because Jacksonville
(32:33):
came back in that game. I don't know, I don't
know if you watched the end of that game last night,
but it.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
Was a oh yes, I watched, no question. I mean
Trevor Lawrence, Lawrence fall down twice, not get tackled. I
can't believe, guy, that wouldn't happen ever again, and a
defensive tackle had him in his grasp and did not
bring him down. They were meant to win, that's a
Scott sometimes Kansas City Jacksonville was meant to win, period
(33:02):
point blank. What about the young man taking Patrick Mahomes ninety.
Speaker 5 (33:05):
Nine yards to the house. Great play those Scott faith
the Blitz backs up right, catches the ball and takes
it to the house. I mean, Jacksonville was meant to
win that game. It was a very good game.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
They're right there. It's just tough, tough sledding, but they're
right there. They're right there. They're getting healthy, they're getting healthy.
I think Kansas City's gonna be fine. I do, gotcha.
So I think they're gonna be fine. We're at seven now.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
I was gonna say it's it's just a tough thing
to see Kansas City struggle the way they do, where
you would think in years past, like they've got this
game wrapped up, they've got them right where they want them,
and then all of a sudden, just some minor mistakes,
like their kicker after they score, their kicker kicks the
ball out of bounds. Now Jacksonville gets the ball to forty.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Talking about yes, well they made quite a few though. Yes,
they made quite a few mental errors. And so the
Jacksonville jackon bille gets Scott five year pilody. They don't
run the play in time delay a game. I saw things.
Like I said, I'm like, man, it happens, so Scott,
it happens. But weird things were happening. So we'll have
(34:24):
to wait and see. But let's get the break. We'll
get to our next caller seven forty six. I got
these guys bull wage on with me. We'll be back
after the break. Welcome back, seven point fifty Sports Radio.
Scott show just flies by like always. Let's get to
our next call. It always does, Land and welcome to
the show. How are you?
Speaker 2 (34:45):
Yeah, Good morning, Jerry, How are you bluddy? Oh? Man,
oh man, it don't get any better. You don't get better, man,
I have a Jerry Eaves morning going there you go.
I got to break up there in the morning. Go ahead,
my bad.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
You got eleven wins. You gotta get on your horse
to start working.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Hey, my secret weaponough is doing good, though I know
that she's doing good.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
Your wife is doing hey, Oh Patty, Mary, Sheila. Hope
they beat the man. I do.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
We got we got some pl we got some plans
for that. But I got my scores early because I'm
calling in behind uh mister c because I know how
he plays these lines, and I'm right here with him.
So I'm ready, buddy.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Okay, let's go get it. Then you've got the game accounts,
as are you? Organ?
Speaker 2 (35:36):
Jerry. I'm gonna take Oregon thirty three to twenty five.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Okay, So what is the spread? You all know? I don't.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Oh, it's got to be seven or Steve wanting to
play it. It's seven or Steve waning to play it.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Okay, got you. So and it's Steve and then it's
twenty five.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
And thirty two. Jerry, he'll he'll play the money line,
which is the over hundred. It's fifty two, or he
wouldn't play. So I'm playing with him.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
There you go. No, he knows what he's doing. Let's
go ahouse State of Illinois.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Give me a house state in a wash?
Speaker 1 (36:11):
Yeah, I agree. Alabama? Missouri?
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Where's that game at, Jerry?
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Missouri?
Speaker 2 (36:19):
Yeah? Give me Alabama. I think they've turned the corner.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
Okay, yes, two quality wins Vanderbilt last weekend and Georgia Oklahoma.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
And Texas definitely Oklahoma.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Definitely. You don't think Texas can right the ship. They
were ranked number one begin of the season.
Speaker 3 (36:40):
They got to think.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
I think the Manning kid is a good player, but
the shattles that he's living under right now are way
too big for him, and it's almost unfair to compare
him to his two uncles and his grandfather.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
No, I agree with that, it's too early to do that,
but that's just there the beast blendid Nat. But I
do agree with you. I still think he can be
a quality quarterback. He just needs some time, a few years. Well,
he can develop. Everyone just thought, man throw fifty touchdowns
and go pros call.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Though, Jerry, I'm not. I'm not feeling sorry for him
because he's already made fifteen million dollars.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
I'm not, but I'm black blanded Scott everybody. I am
so glad that the athletes are benefiting from some of
this crazy money. I haven't gotten to it. I will tomorrow.
On coach studs. He got a thirty eight million dollar buyo.
Come on now, he's not to have million dollars blaming.
So why are we mad at the players that are
playing finally reap some benefits. Same thing with all the
(37:40):
with it coach Ron. Coach Ron makes six and that
million dollars. I mean, I can go on and on
and on with these guys, adlect directors are making six
million dollars.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Come on, now, yeah, so.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
Why not the athletes? Why not the athletes? That's my
own I mean, I've got a problem with it blaming.
I'm glad the athletes are benefiting financially from some of
this money. I'm sorry. I just so I'm happy. And
that's one of the reasons Blanded. He can stay in
school and continue to improve. He doesn't have to rush
out trying to make a die. He can stay there
(38:13):
and hone the skills. So I got it. But I've
got you down, brother.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
So Jerry, you're just going with four games this week? Right?
Speaker 1 (38:20):
Yes for just for yes, just for Okay, I didn't
have a good d anybody, thank you. Yeah. I wasn't
going to go Tennessee and Arkansas. Thank you, Blanding. I
wasn't gonna do that, see you, So, Scott, Yes, Scotty,
I'm trying to tell you it is so funny. Yes,
go ahead, Scott.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
I was gonna just say, we've got a big decision.
We got to talk about.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
What's that.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
The Lebron James second decision? What's that making it? Making
it at twelve today? Whether I guess it. I guess
it's going to be whether he's going to retire or not.
So you need find out.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
I mean, he's got a great Chris Scott. He's a
great player, a great player. He's a phenomenal athlete, craziest
body I've seen on an NBA player in a long time,
no question, he's just no Michael Jordan, that's all Scott.
I don't let me get Adam in. Let me get
at him in Adam wiganys Worts Radio. Let's knock this
(39:25):
out at him. We gotta go fast.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
All right, you ready, I got you, I got you
thirty four, I got thirty four to twenty four Oregan.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
Okay, you guys in this spread, Well I can tell
you on what you're doing though. Ohio State, Illinois, Ohio State, Alabama, Missouri, Alabama.
You do know that games at Missouri? You know that? Correct? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (39:52):
Yeah, they just theyre not gonna do anything. Man.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
Okay, Oklahoma at Texas. That's Oklahoma. See, guys, some of
you better look at Texas because Florida upset last week,
the Great upset over Texas. Texas get upset Oklahoma. So
everybody's going with Oklahoma and then stage so far. That's
one of those games. That's a difference maker game, Adam.
(40:18):
Oh you want some of me? Let me see golly
now that everybody's kind of telling me what the number is.
They both score the ball, they both score the ball.
But I think Oregon is a better team. I do.
Oh man, God, dog, that's god.
Speaker 4 (40:37):
You're eating money in the virus.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
No, I'm going under. I'm going under thirty twenty four
or I'm staying with the under.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
All right now, I'll sink you. Thank you, guys, I.
Speaker 1 (40:52):
Got one minute. Thank you o ab Adam. I'm gonna
let you know I've got fifty seconds where you are, Adam.
I've got you to five seven. Adam, I think I
got you at thirteen, but you have to have to
check that I did not have you completely total it up.
You're next to the bottom. But I'll let you know.
All right, thank you, see you, brother Eastwards Radio Scott.
(41:16):
When we come back, we gotta talk about Kentucky. First
thing tomorrow. Off the bat coach stoops, does he survive?
It's got up a great date. Hey, everybody were smelling
somebody's face, smelling your face, and we're all in this together.
Eastwards Radio. I'm out
