Speaker 2 (00:04):
It's October the first, twenty twenty five. I couldn't help myself. Yes,
it is Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
It is hump day.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Can you believe it's October the first. That's the tenth
month of the year. November, December, jingle bells, Christmas songs,
all the above, right around the corner, Thanksgiving right around
the corner. Basketball games right around the corner. What a
great time of the year.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Welcome back to EVE Sports Radio. Guys.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Phone number is five zero two, five seventy nine hundred.
That's five zero two seventy nine hundred. They try to
confuse me at iHeart. Shannon is out today. We've got
the one and only Rick sitting in with us today. Rick,
appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
How are you. I'm doing great, Jerry, good to be.

Here, absolutely, Rick, thank you for sitting in with us.
Of course, we do know this is seven ninety KRD
sports Talk for sure, and we do have a co host.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
I'm not gonna call him any names. I'm gonna give
him a break today.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
I called him in that case yesterday, but I'm not
gonna say that today. I'm just gonna say welcome Scott Bowage.
Back to the show, Scott, Welcome to the show.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
How are you well? You got about two more weeks
and not calling the names, because then after you come
down to Florida and you see me on the golf course,
you'll probably go back to call me some names after that.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Okay, everybody's got jokes.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
That's okay, Scott. I'm working on my game. I worked
on my game some yesterday. That's all that I'm saying.
You're always putting your car in the shop. I'm always
putting my golf game in the shop. I had it
two weeks ago. I'm running a little rough right now.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
But that's okay.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
I will come out of it, Scott, just in time
for you. So yes, I will be down there on
the seventeenth watch Louisville Miami.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Of course, we talked a lot about Louisville yesterday. We've
got a lot to get to today.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
But you know we're gonna do a lot on University
Kentucky football program, coach Stoops and what's going on in Lexington.
So we're going to get to that. Of course, we're
gonna throw it to you for the national news. But
before that's got before I do any of that. I
didn't even touch it yesterday, and I meant to you
talking about the funniest thing.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
I mean the funniest.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
We're at Coach Crumbs golf outing Monday morning, University of
Louisville golf course. I call it the Cardinal Club, but
it's the University of Louisville golf course, okay. And everyone's
out playing. Largest crowd they've had in a long time.
They had twenty three teams. Don Atan Israel is talking
to us. He's coming in and out. We're out on
(02:37):
the patio. It is Scud McCraney, Wiley Brown, my teammates,
Robbie Valentine, Milt Wagner in nineteen eighty six. Milk was
one of my teammates also eighty six championship team. Was
there myself, that's five, Judy cal Gill, which was Coach
Crumb's administrative assistant, his boss. Judy was there and a
(03:00):
few other people. So Wiley Brown just had hernia surgery
and it went well, but he was just a little solar.
So we were talking about the old days and what
we would have had Roughhouse do, which was Jerry Mayar trainer,
and guys, here we are a whole bunch of athletes
talking about what happens in the locker room, right, but cleanly, guys, cleanly.
(03:22):
Judy Calgill city right there with us, Scotty. Judy cracked
a joke on Wiley Brown. I mean she had everybody
in stitches. Judy Calskill's got to be eighty five. Judy
cracks the joke, and I'm telling you Wiley Brown, which
just had hurting the surgery. He's laughing so hard, he's
crying because it's hurting him. I'm laughing so hard, but
(03:45):
I'm just dying watching Brown cry. Screwter and I Milt,
we're just dying from what missus cal Gill said.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Judy. Oh, I can't tell you all, it's personal.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
But it was so funny, scot so God, just think
of this, honestly.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Just imagine this.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
A bunch of sixty year old black guys with an
eighty five year old white woman who cracks the joke
and everyone dies lasting.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
I mean, I wish I could tell you all, but
I can't. I might have to call Judy and have
Judy tell you all the joke. Oh gosh, oh, Scotty,
it was. It was amazing I'm telling you we had
a great time. But it was great seeing Judy and
just the old gang. We had a ball, We didn't play.
We just stayed on the patio. It seems. Came in.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
We took pictures and just kind of cracked jokes with
everyone and got.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
In the way. But it was a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
It was a great event, raised a lot of money
for the Scholarship Fund for not athletes, got students at
the University of Louisville, so it went, well, congratulations to
Jonathan Israel. So I had to get that in though, Scott,
I'm gonna have Judy or Wiley Brown tell the joke.
No one else can. They're the only two that could
tell the joke. She cracked on Wiley it was, oh
(04:55):
my gosh, it was funny. So anyway, but we had
a great time and it was great sea Judy.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
So, Scott, it's seventy eleven and I'm gonna throw it
to you.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
I've already got people blowing up my phone about my Reds,
so I'm gonna throw it to you. Start with my
Reds major League Playoffs? What transpired yesterday? In your opinion,
who's gonna win it? And my Reds made it interesting.
You had to stay up, which I did. It almost
killed me. It made me stay up. But the Reds
(05:26):
made it interesting. Tell me what's going on in Major
League baseball?
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Man? I was the same way I was watching that game.
And at the beginning, I was thinking it wouldn't matter
if we kept their names out of their mouth or not.
There was no cancer winning game.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Oh so Hey comes out and I mean, first batter up, bam.
It's like, gods, you couldn't hit it that hard. It
was amazing, just god, Like poor Green. I felt for him.
I mean, he knew he was in troubles.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
God. I mean the Dodgers, Oh.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
It was crazy. They look like the highest paid team
in baseball. Yes, I mean, just first three innings, it
was the game was over with.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
It was over luckily.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Yeah, I mean they. I mean, when you have two
of your bigger names show Hey and Tiasco Hernandez hit
two home runs, you know, it's it's so tough to
mentally be able to come back from that. But yeah,
I will say. You know, seventh and eighth inning, the
Reds made a serious run and they you you watched
(06:45):
those fans in the stands and They're like, man, I
hope we don't blow this because.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
You can see I was proud of the Rads, Scott.
I was disappointed, but all the Reds can't play. Fred
Cone's done a great job with that team. I mean
they were getting blasted. So hey, second home run is
still flying, Scott. He almost hit the ball. I mean
the second home run he saw, he almost hit out
(07:11):
of the ballpark. But you never saw the Reds quit.
You never saw him get frustrated. They stayed the course
and then once they chipped away, got two runs. Next
thing you know, the bases loaded, Scotty. People were like,
what's going on? I was proud of the Reds. I'll
being honest with you, Yes, did not. They could have
just got run over.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
They made it. I mean, you know, some guys chasing
some some bad pitches and you know while they're making
that run, and you know they were, they were close.
They didn't make it exciting, you know, like I was
ready to go to sleep, and then all of a sudden,
you get the bases loaded. Then you know you score
one and oh man, like it's it was tough, but
(07:56):
I'm glad, like you said, they made it again. They
made it exciting and it gives them some momentum.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Going yes for tonight's game too. Mm hmmm, Yes, for
tonight's game, I agree. Looking forward to then, I'm still hey,
the Rates could get a win, Scott. They played well
the last three innings. I mean they just said it
was just that Dodger or I mean, god, I mean
Mookie and all the great players. The Dodgers are lethal.
(08:24):
I mean their lineup is lethal. It's crazy how good
they are. I mean it just and Snail. Snail was
crazy the first seven innings got Oh god, how good
was he?
Speaker 3 (08:35):
It was amazing the way he was pitching My strikeouts. Yeah,
that was that was a tough one, tough guy to face.
I mean he was so in control. And that's seventh
and he gave up two runs at the end, you
know where he started to wear down a little bit.
But but then you know that they had enough in
(08:56):
there on their side to just make it, you know,
tough for the Reds that comeback. But yeah, it was.
I mean you look at yesterday from Snell being dominant,
then you go to the Red Sox game where Crochette
had he thirds, he.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Seventy two thirds. Yeah, he wore the Yankees. Other than
the home run he gave up early, he wore them out.
Oh god, he was again. Pitchy wins playoff games. He
was dominant when he left that mound. He knew he
owned the Yankees. And then of course when he left
the mound, Chapman closed it out. But they got to Chapman.
(09:38):
They were starting to put people on base. Chapman did
close them out. Scot Oh gosh, the Yankees, they're coming
out of there tonight.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
They're coming out with the reds. I don't care anyone
says Yankees are done. Also, I just.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Judge at least got a hit in the ninth s. Guy,
I watched the game. At least Judge got a hit
when it mattered. But he just can't hit a home run,
it seems like, but it's big time. He just doesn't.
He's just not the Reggie Jackson at the plate that
everybody wants.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Him to be. In the playoffs, He's just not he
is regular season, no question that is.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
That is not a big difference between him and Show Hey.
Oh sh sh show Hey. He's not just a power hitter.
But that's the big separator, you know, when Show Hay
needs to hit a home run. He hits a home
run and he hits it far. Yes, but he can
(10:35):
also get on base and he's just not that power.
And then you know we can't goes. We can't forget
Detroit and Cleveland and the choice pitcher school. Fourteen strikes yesterday.
So you had dominant, three dominant pitchers rolling last night
(11:00):
and really showing why they're in the business.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Yes, it was. It was amazing to watch.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I mean, but it's got no matter when you start
with showhy Mookie Bennett's and the MVP of last year's
World Series treatment that's lethal.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
I mean, those three, you're in trouble. If you can get.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Through those three without the run being posted, you've done
one heck of a job.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
I mean, the Dodgers just have a roster that is
just loaded.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
But my Reds are going to get them. So Scott,
we're seven seventeen, just watched the night at nine. The
Reds are going to steal a game from the Dodgers.
Just I'm not taking the Reds out of my mouth.
They're still in the game. So I'll be watching. I
will be watching, Scott. So Scott to look stated task
at seven, eighteen m.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
I was gonna say the one thing is we can
talk about the Reds right now. Every everybody a little
bit about the Writs.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Nobody in the playoffs exactly.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Now we know we've got the contest. We've got scores
in the game that counts. Yes, louis has got a
ranked opponent coming to L and N Stadium.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Now I'm no gambler stuff, but I want people to
know this.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
We'll give them a little information from today's Curia Journal. Guys,
this is not their correct bookie line, as you all
well know. This is just from today's Curier Journal. You
have got Georgia's twenty and a half point favorites over Kentucky.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
I had to say this.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
You got Clemson fourteen point favorites over North Carolina. Belichick, Oh,
not doing a very much job in Carolina this far,
this far. Let's give him a chance. We know it's hard.
We have got different seven point favorites over Florida. You've
got Louisville seven and a half point favorites over Virginia,
(12:57):
which is a ranked team ranked twenty fourth. Scott in
the Courier Journal this Betty line, I don't know where
they get it. I'm just telling you all. This is
all that I know. It's not the legal betting line.
And you've got Miami five point favorites.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
To excuse me, that's wrong. Is that correct?
Speaker 2 (13:15):
No, that's wrong with Miama. I'm sorry. I've got to
find the correct Miami. I don't have the correct Miami.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
So I.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
Has Miami at four and a half.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
At four and a half. Yeah, So that's what we
have for this week's games.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
So again, guys, Kentucky and Georgia, Virginia at Louisville that's
the game. Vanderbilt at Alabama, Miami at Florida State must
win for Florida State, Texas at Florida are the five
games for this week. So Scott, let's get to break
at seven to twenty. When we come back, we're going
(13:49):
to endeavor a little bit into Mark Stup situation and
where we are at University of Kentucky's football program. After
the break, Welcome back to sports Radio. It's seven twenty three.
Phone numbers five zero two, five seven, one seventy nine hundred.
I've got Scott Bowlwage on the other line, Scott.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Before I throw it.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
To you, Scott, some people think they have a sense
of humor, and it's really frustrating me, Scott, it really is.
So someone sent me this talking about my Reds said, yeah,
sure they can win if the Dodgers can't find the stadium.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Scott. That's uncalled for. That's uncalled for, Scott.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
And the only way the Reds could win if the
Dodgers don't find the stadium that s got. They just
have no belief. It just sounds like hater aide to me.
That's all Scott. They need to move out of this area.
The Reds are our team. They need to move.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
That's all I can say.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
So anyway, Scott, I'm gonna throw it to you. Coach Stoops,
you're an outsider. What do you think what first comes
to your mind when you think about Coach Stoops and
the job he's done in Kentucky, longest tenured SEC coach.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Scott has been SEC Coach of the Year twenty eighteen.
He's had great players, Josh Allen, Benny Snail, Will Levis.
I mean he's had great players, Scott. I mean, so,
what do you think? First thing comes to your mind
when you say coach Stops University Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
First thing that comes to mind. And when I think
of coach stops is he's got a great agent.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Why you say that, Scott.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
So you know we talk about this and people being
on the hot seed and everything, and over the years,
how coaches have these outrageous buyouts and everything. So you know,
you do a little research. And he signed a new
(15:56):
contract in twenty two after and so then you got
you have to go back and you start going down
this rabbit hole of things. He signed a new contract
after a seven and six season, three and five in
the conference, had a beat they beat They had to
(16:18):
win at Florida in twenty two and they beat Louisville.
So those are their two games that they that they
won where guys were or their opponents were ranked. Then
they and then in their bowl game they lost to
Iowa twenty to nothing. But by then he had already
signed twenty one nothing. They thought he'd already signed his
(16:39):
extension by then, find an extension through twenty thirty one.
So nine year extension, annual salary of nine million dollars.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
If they if they terminate them, they're gonna he'll be
paid seventy five percent of his remaining salary, which after
the twenty twenty five season is approximately forty point five
million dollars which needs to be.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
Made proximately how much? Proximately five.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Eight?
Speaker 2 (17:18):
That's just Scott, fire me. I hate to tell people. God,
so we've been fire me, Scott. I got fanned Carolina
and tea and had two years at about what one
forty five? I had twenty three months coming at one
hundred and forty five thousand a year. I thought I'd
hit the mega lottery.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Do you remember that?
Speaker 2 (17:38):
I got both hips done. I mean, I'm the happiest
man in North Carolina. I'm telling people.
Speaker 5 (17:43):
I want him to know.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
This man's got a forty million dollar coach and acting upset.
Fire me, what good?
Speaker 3 (17:54):
And it must be paid in full within sixty days.
So he's getting that money right away.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
He got he's got a great agent. I don't know
who his agent is, but that's it's got. Mitch Barnhardt
at University Kentucky has done a great job.
Speaker 6 (18:10):
He has hired great coaches. He has hired everyone he's hired.
Probably his last four or five hires have been home runs.
I mean that, but this extension is really hanging over
his head.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Heavy coach Cal Perry bailed him out when he left
for free.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Yeah, he built him out, can tell you fans know that.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
But this one here, they're gonna have to pay that
cow forty million love sum sixty days. The buyout must
be paid in full within sixty days of Stup if
Stup is fired. Mm hmmm, Well, Scott, here's what I'm
gonna say, because everyone's saying that he's leaving the program
(18:53):
the way he got it from Joker, which was down,
and he brought it back. Scott, he really did bowl appearances. Okay,
didn't lose to a nine comes opponent between twenty eighteen
and twenty two.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
I mean was killing him.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
He owned University of Louisville's our rival owned them. Just
the facts. Guy beat Tennessee at Tennessee twenty twenty, first
time since nineteen eighty four. First New Year's ere Eve
Day Bowl wins since nineteen fifty one, twenty eighteen, Right, Scott,
I mean they're a lot Coach of the year twenty eighteen.
(19:30):
But after COVID's got it's been dry. So you've got
four and eight last year, seven and six, twenty twenty three.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Not bad, Scott.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Not in the SEC beat Louisville seven and five, twenty
twenty two, oh and three, twenty twenty one, five and six,
twenty twenty So my real question, other than having no
success in the SEC, it's been a full calendar year now.
September twenty eighth of twenty four is the last time
(20:03):
he won a conference game. He's like one in fifteen
or sixteen out of the last seventeen conference games. M
Should he be Scott on this kind of hot seat
at the University of Kentucky playing in the SEC?
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Should he be? I have to tell you what I
just told you.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
It's the you know, this kind of goes back to
when Calipari is there, like what are the standards? What
do you want from your program? If you want an
SEC title and you're putting the money into it, your
everything's matching up to SEC title standards.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Well, the salary definitely is Scott He's in the top
last SEC coaches and the buyout so the salary is
so yes, you have to take the responsibility when you
take that kind of money.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Much given much expected salary is he should be in
the top four in the SEC. That's just the truth.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
So, so if if everything lines up with that and
you are that far off, it might be time for
a change. You better so that Alumni a pony up
some of that buy out money get rid of.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
They got it, I know.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
But that's the only thing Kentucky fans crying they've got it.
I just got They've got it. Trust me, Kentucky had
and especially if he didn't have to pay coach Cali Perry,
they had it. That's not the issue.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Yea.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
They just hate I understand, they just hate paying out
that kind of money. I would also, I wouldn't have
signed that kind of deal. But again I've told people
in the sporting business I've been in my entire life
and your agency, you either try to get it upfront
in your salary and you have you take less of
a buyout, or you don't try to just rape people
(21:56):
over your salary and you take a larger buyout. But
coach Stoop's got both. He got nine in that million,
yes he did, and he got a super buyout. Which
that's the only problem I have with Mitch Bondhart is
that you don't give away both. When you sit down
with everybody nuts, which one do you want? Will negotiate
(22:17):
from there? You make them choose. You don't give them both.
So and that's an issue. University of Louisville's had the
same issue. I mean, the only reason we got off
of Patinos is that he had so many sanctions that
it was easy.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
What Scott, you don't give away both.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
So let's get to our first caller, Scott seven thirty
two before we go to our next break.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
That's bring on, Brandy Brandon. Welcome to the sports radio.
How are you.
Speaker 7 (22:41):
How's it going. How's it going, Jared?
Speaker 1 (22:44):
I'm doing good. I'm just ready to whip you again.
That's all, man, that's all you got.
Speaker 7 (22:50):
You got me on Monday.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Man, you didn't want.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
To pay me.
Speaker 7 (22:53):
Man, I'll tell you what. Some much to go five
and oh this week and then you're gonna have to
add me to your bank account. Make it easier. Save
you on posty. You don't have to know it.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
If help you, Brandon, I still write checks. I couldn't
send my son an emergency five dollars if.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
I had to. I just don't do it that way.
You're not gonna get on that.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
The only body that automatically deposit the Dutch my account
is Republic Bank.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
When they take up my home loan. That's the only person,
that's the only industry, the only institution is Republic Bank.
I write a check to everybody else.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
So let's get with it, because I mean, honestly, your
boy Ryan said you should give the man twenty five dollars.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Ron was trying to be nice, you know what I
told him.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
No, No, that's all. With the game number twenty four,
Virginia at Louisville. Louisville was favored in the paper. It's
got to do me a favor or we're talking. Look
up what the real spread is on the Virginia Louisville game.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
Look at it? Not that not my little Betty journal. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
ESPN has it at six and a.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Half Louisville six and a half. Okay, what's the over
under Scott? Do you have that? Because my people want
to know.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
I'm telling you yesterday was about sixty.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Okay, I need to even know.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Second, yeah, it's about sixty three.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Question, So okay, let's go. Then let's go.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
Yeah, sixty two and a half. Coach, sixty two and
a half.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
Okay, sixty two and a half. Let's go. What do
you have?
Speaker 3 (24:37):
Are you getting? Are you getting?
Speaker 7 (24:38):
In the but I need to know that. Now, are
you getting in the.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Yes, sir, are you getting I'm always in say.
Speaker 7 (24:45):
I told you I live, my tins up, my tins up.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
I live.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
I'm going.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
I'm going with the Cards.
Speaker 7 (24:53):
Obviously, go Cards. They're going undefeated. I've been telling everybody
that to the Miami game.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
He sounds like you don't.
Speaker 7 (25:01):
But I'm going with. Okay, thirty seven to twenty four,
thirty seven twenty four Louisville Cardinals.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
I'm taking the under thirty six. I'm taking the other
so that you're here thirty six, that's all.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
That's all. I'm again. I own you stand in the patch.
Speaker 7 (25:22):
Like my buddy used to tell me, Randy Moss straight
cash home straight cave.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Georgia can take you at Georgia between the hedges.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
Oh you know I want the Bulldogs.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Okay, okay, let's go Vanderbilt Alabama.
Speaker 7 (25:44):
Man, you're trying to get everybody to jump on this
bandy so they don't take your money. It's Bama all
the way, give me Bama.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Oh okay, I'm glad you said that, Scott. This is
one game.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Vandy beat them last year, Vandy's undefeated this year, and
everybody gives them no credit.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
We'll see. We'll just have to wait and see. Honestly, I.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Don't know if Bama goes back to back. I don't
know if Bama goes back to back. We're gonna see
if Alabama's truly all the way back. They beat Georgia.
Everyone's patting them on the back in Athens, Georgia right now.
All the student body loves them. You just wait, Many's coming.
Miami at Florida State. Go ahead, this one's the tough one.
Speaker 7 (26:29):
This one's the tough one. Let's go Miami. Let's let's
get a two teams next week undefeated facing each other
on the seventeenth. Not next week, but on the seventeen.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Teams.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Let's go Miami. We'll go Miami.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
That's what I predicted. But we'll wait and see. Texas
at Florida does Manning turn this thing around?
Speaker 7 (26:54):
I think Florida is just absolutely the cleansing of the SEC.
I think Florida just went the dump. I'll go to Texas.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Let's go Texas. Okay, I've got you that, Scott.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
If you had to pick that game, do you take
Texas or Florida at Florida Archie Manning's going to Florida,
hard place.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
To play, hard place to play. But I just don't
think Florida. He may have lost those guys. So I
will go with Texas with that one.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Okay, well, I've got you. I've got the under. I'm
thirty six. I'm taking the under. You've got thirty seven
twenty four. No one else has that score.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
We'll see how you do. You might have to put
it outside outside the briars.
Speaker 7 (27:42):
You may have to officially put an address on that ten.
After I do it again, we'll.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
See well over. You know, Scott, he sounds like the WNBA.
You came in second. Ron beats you. I don't even
know what we're talking about. You win. Don't even call me.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
This ain't nothing against the Ryn because Ron didn't nothing wrong.
You got me good on that one. You got me good.
I'm like, why the very party? Why everybody hate you
you say all the time, because you do nothing but
bit back. That's what I did. I called in to
say to say my score was. I get it. Hey,
I'm on your side. I'm on your side. I'm with
the people.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Got your brother there, you don't they too?
Speaker 2 (28:27):
God bless you, so Scott, I'm telling you, this contest
is just crazy. It is crazy. It is the best
year I've ever had, the most. And Scott, Yes, counting Country, Commonwealth,
Dodge put a five hundred dollar kicker on the end. Scott,
five hundred dollar kicker got me. They paid all the
(28:47):
contest money exactly. You stepped in when Bluegrass sold the
Vine family close friends of mine, Billy Hayes, stepped right
in since Jerry, I got you.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
I love what the show's about. I listened to the
show really does and we.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Were on then, Scott, I mean this, and I've owned everything,
but I mean this.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
It's the most I've ever spent on anything in my life.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
But I bought a TRX Dodge truck Scott that I
absolutely love, period point blank.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Period point blank.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
That's all there is to it. Luxurious, fast as can be.
It's a truck, Scott. I love it and I'm driving
Miss Daisy.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
I know it's not politically correct to say I don't care,
but I love it. So anyway, thank you, Down and Country. So, Scott,
here's the deal. There's a lot of whining going on,
and you know this WNBA is just killing me. So
when we come back from break. We're don't talk about
it in a little bit. Here's the only issue that
(29:46):
when we're talking about coach Stoops. He's done a fantastic
job at Kentucky. Yes, right now it's not looking good.
He's had a hard time with the offensive coordinator, Scott.
They've gone their pro hit co which is now Lehman.
I mean he's had people Liam Coleman Cohen, which is
a head coach now in the NFL, that he doesn't
(30:07):
seem to let spread their wings. He restricts the offense.
That's the stage of defense coordinator. I understand, Scott. I
was a defensive guy. You know that until I wanted
to keep my job. I'm believing, honest with people. Until
I wanted to keep my job, there were games I
want people to understand with this defensive stuff. There were
(30:29):
games that we played to where I held the team
less than ten points in the second half. Scott, you
know that, Marilyn's sure I still lost. I still lost, guys.
I couldn't score the ball, but I could defend you.
We defended.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
But until I went out and got shooters and put
multiple midget shooters on the floor, I didn't beat Power
five teams, but the minute I could outscore them, Scott,
we beat DePaul University, sm Use, Coastal Carolina's un cgs
and all the others got We said, we have the
Saint Louis Chie.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
It's so bad, it's comical Arizona State's announcers. But Geria,
how's it feel to get robbed after games?
Speaker 1 (31:12):
I mean, Scott, we had that because we could score.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
And yes, pitching did win last night's games in the playoffs,
but if you can't score, you have.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
No chance of winning. You just don't.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
So the Dodgers had a great pitcher. It's got a
great pitcher, but they scored ten runs. You've got to
be able to score. And coach Stoops's team has been
struggling to score, struggling even though they've had high quality,
high draft picks, high quality talent. Their offensive line the
(31:46):
last three years was not the offensive line of the
four years before that. Scott, they had offensive line that
could go toe to toe with the SEC. I mean,
they had a true offensive line. They can push you around.
So right now, when there's starting to compare him to
Joker Phillips, which is the kiss of death, when they're
saying comparing the record for the amount of games record
(32:09):
Joker Phillips thirteen and twenty four. Stoops is sixteen and
twenty one, matching the same time frame, SEC Joker was
four and twenty.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Coach Stoops is six and eighteen. Home SEC games Joker
Phillips was four and eight. Coach Stoops is twenty eleven.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Ye, So I don't know. Top twenty Coach Stops is
four and eight. Joke Phillips was winning eleven. I don't
know about the comparisons. I'm just hoping the coach can
get him a win and get his team.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
It's got.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
They played Oh Miss. Well, I was at the game.
They controlled the game the first ten minutes they were
in the game. If you look at it now, Kentucky
fans Oh Miss right now, that was right fourth in
the country. Well, if they're right fourth, Kentucky just needs
to get a break and they need their offense to
get going. Because it was a quality games Got.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
It was not a.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Blowout, if you believe what the rankings are saying. So
I just think it's difficult being in the SEC of
the top twenty. Ten of the teams are from the
SEC of this week's top twenty ten of the teams
are from the SEC.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
I mean, he's got one of the toughest schedules in
the country. I don'kay. Fans don't want to hear this.
They don't. I'm just telling the facts.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
I don't know other than he's overpaid guy, Okay, that
part I will say.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Other than that is buyouts to be man. I don't know.
I just hope that he can turn it around this weekend.
Yeah he does. I mean George talking about Georgia. Scott,
come on, man, Kirby's oho to nine against it Kentucky.
He has never beat Kirby Smart, and most coaches haven't
(33:53):
beat Kurby Smart. I mean, that's that's so unfair.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
I mean most Alabama has beat Kirby smartlready beats everyone else,
mean Kelly and at LSU those guys.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
Probby beats those guys. I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
Scott is this Wednesday hard when when you're saying he
should definitely go other than his offense needs to change,
he is something or he has to go. His offense
has to change, or he has to go. If he
will not give up true control to an offense coordinator
and let him call his plays the way he wants,
(34:28):
then yes, it's time for him to That's all there
is too. So anyway, Scott seven forty four. When we
come back, well touch some of the things. We've got
big high school games this week.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Of course, we.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Got the contest. Everybody knows it's sixty two and a
half points. So that means neither team's gonna play any defense. Guy,
that's what Vegas is saying. Neither team can play any
defense whatsoever. And I'm won't be taking the underscard.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
I'm taking the under is he sworts Radio seven forty four,
Pour numbers five zero two, five nine hundred. We'll be
back with that WNBA. Scott.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
I'll let you explain to people what's going on. Welcome
back to the Esports Radio. Sorry for about that. I
had to run two breaks. We got carried away and
did not take a break at the seven thirty marks,
so I had to run to welcome back. We're gonna
get to our phone lines are lit. I'm gonna get
to Mike in a second. Well, I'm gonna get to
(35:25):
Mike right now. It's got I gotta get Mike in.
Then we'll slide over to the WNBA Mike walking to
the Esports radio.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Are you morning, Jerry, are right off the bat? Are
you getting? Are you getting? It's a seventy five dollars
a week, So I want people to understand. I know
people are frightened.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
It's a seventy five dollars week because I won last week.
And if you get in the Briers patch and beat me,
it's one hundred and fifty dollars week. If you get
in the bars patch, Okay.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
You just thirty three twenty one. No one has that either.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Louisville hmmm, that's only fifty four points, Scott fifty four
thirty three twenty one. Virginia scored quite a bit on
Florida State. I don't know if Florida State was overlooking them.
Louisville can't score. I took the under the.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Man. I'm just trying to think. I'm just trying to think. Now,
it's like where Barney, I'm taking it over.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
I'm taking over on you. I'm thirty four, I'm thirty
four to twenty one. I'm taking the over, Mike, I
got the over right, So let's get with it. Kentucky
at Georgia.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
Jeordia.
Speaker 5 (36:45):
And you want to know how you solve the Mark
Stuke's problem. If you're mits Barnhart, you go to him
and go, okay, we don't find you. But you know what,
you got two million dollars a day with your budget
next year, have a nice day.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
I know, I just would be miserable though. That wouldn't
help you.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
That would help Kentucky, that would save us forty saves
forty million dollars on buyout because he's gonna catch so
much crap that he's gonna leave.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Nobody.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
Nobody's leaving forty million dollars.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Mike. I'm gonna just do it at you. Mike, you
got at that's your employer that doesn't know that you quit.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
If I got a forty million dollars, you're okay. They're
gonna be talking about the Mike brown by It buy
out years after. Don't forget about Joker.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
Leave Joker alone. I take him the Jokers. Don't leave
Joker alone. Leave him out in that. Keep him out
of your mouth.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
Alabama say hey, same way with you and the Reds.
Leave him out your mouth.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
Ja.
Speaker 5 (37:46):
I pull for the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Hey, they're in the playoffs. Forget you on and they
made it interesting they did Alabama?
Speaker 5 (37:57):
Where are you going with Alabama?
Speaker 1 (38:00):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (38:01):
Roll tide, Miami at Florida State road time? Okayuh, Miami
at Florida State.
Speaker 5 (38:09):
Mm hmmm. I'm gonna take Miami just because I want
to see him coming around defeated and beat the Cardinals up.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
I mean no, Louisville goes to Miami. So yes, well
whatever at Miami play.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
They could play on the Butler's field. It ain't gonna matter.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
I just.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
Uh huh.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
Are you there, Jerry?
Speaker 5 (38:44):
I want to think, all right.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Sorry about that? You all technical difficulty. Is Mike still
with me? Or did Mike leave? Mike? You's still there? Okay,
he's gone. Mike, call me back tomorrow so I can
get your Texas Florida score. Excuse me. I apologize, Scott.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
It just dropped on me, and I kept thinking, oh
my goodness, I did not hang up on you, Mike.
It just dropped. We're at seven fifty five, Scott, it's
over again. How quickly it goes? Mike, please make sure
or you can call back in and leave it immediately,
Mike with my producer Rick and Rick will let me
(40:02):
know if you can't call in tomorrow but.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
I've got one score of that I have to get
from you, which is Texas Florida. Scott quickly.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
I'm gonna touch it tomorrow with the WNBA and the
NBA is getting ready to start up. And of course
we had the Ryder Cup fans players interaction. What we
think is responsible and what is not, Scott for a
sporting event, So the WNBA, it's kind of troubling to
(40:32):
hear what the women are reading and they may not
like my commentary. Tomorrow. I'm gonna think about it though,
Scott and see if I should have a change of heart.
But I just I just don't, Scott. There have been
fans and they've been pulling for you, are pulling against
you from the beginning of time.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
Now the WNBA is more commissioner based. She made some
comments or supposed we made some comments that I'll get
into tomorrow. It's got a great job, like always be safe.
I'll see you soon.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
Is the sports radio god willing put a smile on
your face that you unaddressed.
Speaker 1 (41:11):
I'll talk to you tomorrow. Bye bye.
