Speaker 2 (00:54):
Uh, sometimes you have to cough in life, Jude. It's
just a natural calls with the human body in man
thout on the coffe at that time. So there was
nothing I could do to stop it, so I let
it rip.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Hey, George, natural calls you go college.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
That's what the human body, That's what a human body does.
It is a natural college. George, Thank you, sir. Beautiful weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
How about you, Oh George, I had a fantastic weekend.
Watch a lot of football, a lot of baseball. I
watched that, George, everything's going I even watched some India
exhibition games. George, I watched a little bit of everything
this weekend. You know, it's a really really good weekend.
Without Kentucky and Louisville playing, George, it opened it up
(01:42):
where you could watch and just bounce back and forth
and see a lot of things. You didn't have to
concentrate on one game, what was going on when it transpired.
You could just watch all the games. So, Joe, I mean,
we've got so much news, George.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
I mean, so you didn't get out and enjoy none
of the beautiful weekend. You just sit around and watch
sports on the day when you had an opportunity to
get out and enjoy the environment and won the bump
beautiful weekends we had. So what's so.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
I didn't say.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
That, let's put your time about you watch You didn't
get out too often?
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Hey, George, Well let me tell you. I started the
weekend Friday, Valid Nation. Yes, I was at the game.
I went to the game. Ballot Trinity, I met Bubba.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Talk about two We left smiling.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Trinity, Congratulations to Trinity's team. I don't. I don't give
the kids a hard time. I just give Bubba and
you a hard time.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Don't we give you one, and we give you and
the rest of you valid nation people hard dam.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
That's okay because balid nation stands up. That's all there
is too, Georgie. We are the nation and.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Then seem like it falls down on the big time.
Once on the big stage. I mean, and you went,
I there and watch Mail one through them. Now I
Bubba ran through them. Do you have any friends? It's
like your golf game, Jae. Everybody meet you beat you.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Mh. But then I think I need to schedule Central.
I'll get a win.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Then, okay, that could be true. That could be true.
But but but but we'll we'll go father and our
reason and you I mean in our district and you
will in yours. Oh well, I don't know about this.
Let me let me take that. I've been not watchings.
I'm gonna take that back.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
We both get we're both getting beat up. George.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
I'm only glad I got you. Jerry. I'm only glad
I got you. George.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
I'm trying to tell you Ballard and Central we're taking
our lumps.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yes, and Jerry, we were not playing pretty. I seen
I could probably coach this team. I hate to say that,
and I'm not a football coach, but I think some
of the things they're doing I don't recognize, Jar I
don't really recognize on the football sea.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
I'm sorry, George. I'm watching college and pro coaches making
millions of dollars going down on their thirty nine year
o lift Georgia. I'm through, I said to my wife yesterday.
I hate it because high school coaches are watching these guys.
They're emulating these guys, and I don't care what they say.
They're not making good decisions for their team. They're desperate
the minute the game starts. Georgia. I've only coached, honestly, George,
(04:33):
for a living where I was paid. I fit my family,
my entire life. I've never seen coaches desperate the very
first possession in a football game. I've never seen it.
I'm seeing it all the time now. I've just seen
when Kirby Smart didn't tie the game up last weekend, George,
with four and a half minutes ago. I don't know
what I'm watching it anymore. I just don't I'm being honest,
(04:56):
so ill of you. And he's the best, George. Kirky's
the bat one people. I'm not knocking Kirby. I think
he's the best college coach in the game. He still
didn't tie the game up. He played for the win
last week and they lost. I don't understand. I just
tyed of game. You're the better team, You're at home.
I just George, I can't it was right now, George,
(05:19):
I'm confused.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah. Do you think a little ego got in the way,
that a little arrogant I've been number one for so
long that can nobody stop me? You know? So I'm
gonna go because I'm Kevin smart.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
I can't say you're wrong, George. I can't tell you anymore.
It's not good football. I'm telling you now, George. I'm
gonna let you hear something now. I want you to
hear this. No hold up, Jerky is on this topic.
It's not changing topic. I'm got glad we started here. Shannon.
When you get a chance load when I sent you,
let it rip, Shannon, Everyone listen. You all will know
(05:57):
what it is is. Listen closely, and then I'll narrate
after go ahead, shedding the stain now and he.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Just converted him at my job stopped until the good day.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
He wants a smart time out.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
The clock back, George.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Kirby smarts trying to say I didn't want to time out,
and they they did him get away with this because
they play at one when they stopped it.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Hey, you're shedding, So George, let me tell you what happened.
Kirby smart cast time out, period cast time out. The officials,
he makes a decision. He runs out to the official side. Judge,
I was clapping my hands, George. You saw the official
look at him. No, he's lying, George, he's lying. The
league is suspending. I'm being honest, George. The integrity of
(07:05):
the game looks bad when you do that. He puts
the officials in a bad spot. I started a program, George.
I want people to know at North Carolina and t
that it won three games in two years before I
took it, and George, I didn't get a call for
four years. I want people to understand this. Bad teams
don't get calls. Coaches that are coaching bad teams get
(07:28):
really upset because you don't get calls. George, you got me.
You don't. They're always saying, you got to earn your strikes,
you have to beat them first. Okay, I understand that.
But when you're on national TV and that happens, George,
and they reset the clock and don't take the time
out and give you time again when his team was unorganized, George,
that's called cheating. That hurts the integrity of the game.
(07:51):
Officials should be suspended. Also, I'm sorry, George, you're the
TV announcer saying I can't believe he's gonna get away
with it. So now, George, now you're talking about curtain
Star decision.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Go ahead, can you hold up. I've been I've been
on the comment on this for a minute. You were
talking about this, Jerry. That had to be the worst
officiated game I've ever seen in my life. The end
of that first half, Jerry, took a half hour. The
referees made calls I have never seen in my life.
They changed calls, Jerry. The total picture of that game
(08:23):
was horrible, between Kirby and the referees. I mean that
we just can't blame Kirby, Jerry. Those referees made calls.
That first half took a half hour to end with
a minute and about twenty seconds ago. I have never
seen a half make so many. I think it was
five calls in less than a minute, three of them
fifteen yard penalties. Jerry, I mean, come on now, let's
(08:46):
just don't blame Kirby's let's blame the whole. It was horrible.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
That Was it a touchdown or not? Was it a touchdown, George?
Or not? For all broom put them with put them
up seventeen and nine. Was it a touchdown or not?
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Yeah, when you go back and look at the picture
that ESPN had. But again I blame the refereence. But Jared,
that play was so tight.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
That's why I didn't.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
And you gotta make it. You gotta make it in
a split second. You gotta make it a split second.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
If you blink, you missed exactly. Well, see Jersey, that's that, George.
That's exactly what I was telling people.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
They think they the recall people chance, Jerry, the red
I few people miss it till if it's a touchdown,
they miss it out.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Here's my question, George, what do you think you think
Hugh Furies on Saturday night was sitting there going if
I was a Georgia coach and had the same record
when I got in that call. Yes, Yirs, they went
with the better team. That's why I told you teams
that are trying to upset the champs, you gotta knock
them out because they're gonna go with the chance. And
that's what they did. That was so close. You couldn't
(09:57):
call it, George, I'm not that touchdown. I couldn't call it.
I agree you could not call it. But you know
what they call humble Georgia ball. That's what they called.
Just like there's no time out, George just keeps their
time out Georgia. That's what they call it. That's why
I don't know. I don't think it was a good
look for Kirby or the officials George at all.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
That's what I said. I couldn't blame Kirby alone, though.
I just can't stand up here and say Kirby this
and Kirby that and don't say something about the officiating
of the games. You know what I'm saying. But you
got you gotta take out a step futher though, Jared,
you talking about the referees and you're not getting a call.
But it's like when you play college ball, you're taking
All American or Superstar, he can get it. You won't
(10:43):
get a call, but he will. I tell people all
the time, don't get mad, cause he's gonna call.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
He.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
I remember when Daryl said, I know we'll forget to
Daryl said this in the NBA and he was playing
and Doctor j said. The reason those big ball players
get the call, Jerry, they have more zeros behind their name.
They it one extra step. And if you're All American
and our superstar in college, you get that cow because
people need not turn this game on not to see
(11:08):
you on the court. They don't care about Jerry's who's
not an All American. Our team is the number one team.
You grew that jail. We said, all the team teams
get killed, you know, like when you used to come in, Jered,
your team get killed and they don't call out touch
the man and young man, touch the man. You're theoria
to go in the first.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Half in the proximity of the man. It's a foul.
Here's the deal to George. When you got it on
tape and you've got the world watching, Kirby Smart called
time out and Hugh Freeze, the coach at Aubret is
showing the head official look at him, call time out,
and they still don't get it right. George. That's game.
(11:49):
That's only is that's real bad. When it's no question
that man's calling time out, don't fix it for and
they stayed with the call. George, that's real bad. That's
my only problem. But you're understand correct the superstar you
have to knock out the champ.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
I'm with that, but.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
When it's so blatant, George, that was blatant necklage and
it was, Oh, Georgia, was hard to believe. I'm being honest.
Take away from me.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
I know we done very away from missing you said
a few minutes ago, and I wanted to cut in
on you when you when you chimed in, you're talking
about players emulating players, Jerry, what about the young man?
You remember we watched the first game of the season
when young man came out and you talked about it.
You spit on the young man. Remember that? Remember that
at the beginning of the season, Jared, did you see
and talking about the emulation? Jerry, I was watching and
(12:41):
I know you may have seen this also in the
fans man seen this. I was watching a young man
playing high school football. Uh, pancake. The guy Jerry jumped
up and he weigh three hundred plus pounds, jumped up
and jumped on the man's spine. And I don't know
if he's paralyzed or not, but I knew he had
to go to surgery that night.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
But uplaying, George and ruptured his scleen. Yes, the young
man I saw the play, I.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Mean, George, I mean that's talk about emulation, Jared. That's
a great example of he saw my boy and the
guy was laying on the ground. Why would you do
it on his face? And you jump up and tend
him to the ground and you wait, three hundred plus pounds.
I don't know what you were trying to do. Three
weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Yes, they suspended that young man, just so you'll know,
and then was just trying to keep him. Oh yes,
well this sea and they were trying to keep him
because George, they were trying to put the young man
out of school also. But no, I agree with you.
They should suspend the young man for the entire year.
But George, I would saying emulation. The coaches are watching
these damn coaches, George, And I mean, let's go back
(13:43):
You've got pro coaches going for it first possession of
a football game, going for it on fourth down. I'm like,
come on, you can't be desperate. You just can't say
if I don't score every possession, I can't win. Then
you can't prepare your team that way. Georgia cannot. I
don't care what they say that, you just can't. The
mindset cannot be that. It's it's awful, Jared.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
It's a too it could be a too prounged situation.
I know my team is so bad. We got to
go on it every opportunity we have. We don't have
a chance to win this game.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
I mean, that's what George. It could be one George,
that's what you're saying to your team, and it's not
true because I'm talking about the Detroit Lions, George. They're good,
and that's why the mindset is not correct. It's just
not George. Were already at seven to twenty. You know,
of course we have a contest, George. People love money, George,
and and I do too, George. I love to give
(14:38):
them money.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
I would never know that. Yes, go back, hold stop
stop stop stop stop stop, but repeat that, George, repeat
that you.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Love the what I said, I said, I love to
give him Bill Hayses' money, not mine.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Oh okay, I don't want plans to get this confused.
I don't want.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Well man, Billy and I talked all week last week.
Get on the weekends. We emailed each other, text each other.
Now that's Billy's money, George, I don't like giving them
my money.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Well, you have another winner, said you said, you know
man giving your money away. That's why I first heard you. Okay, coach,
I lie.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
At least George, not my money. But I have another winner.
So we're gonna talk about that.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Another winner.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Oh another one.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Hey, guys that I'm gonna have to cut win winning
Billy Hayes money that Jerry thinks it's his money because
he's not gonna make the fish of this season. Just
keep having Please help me help.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Jerry, Please help somebody help help Jerry.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Tag Alley take all his money.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
When we come back, we're gonna give the high school scores. Yeah,
there were two running clocks. One was Central forty nine seven.
How the second one was Ballance Ballad.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
I'm I can't lie.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
It's the truth. It was a running clock, you know, Bubba, we.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Know the one of them teams. Jerry, Yes, we do.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
We do. George Bumma meets Mes just something draw with
that man. So of course I won't get my teen
is my I know he is. It's my stadium. I
think I know. I get pushed in the back. I'm
like it's gonna be a fight. You know. I'm Georgie.
I'm yelling fight, fight, fight. I'm like, oh, I'm the
one who got pushed. I was like, somebody stand, George.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
I was like, fight fights, not how to help help George.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Oh gosh, George. As everyone knows, I leave early. You
all know that, George.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
You know the first quarter I did? George buff says
to me.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
It's twenty one and nothing. First quarter. Oh lord, it's yes,
it's running clock from growing out. I've got that's the truth.
I looked at Bubba.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
I was like, I want to just whip you by
wont so.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
Yes, George, we'll talk about the high school games after
the break. Seven twenty is e Sworts radio for number
five zero two, five seven one seventy nine hundred. Should
Kirby Smart be suspended or not? I heard George Williams
and the official we'll talk to y'all after the break.
Welcome back to Eastwarts Radio. Sorry about that. George did it.
(17:17):
That's all I can say. George did it. So now, George,
welcome back to the show. And all I can say
to is this, George, our two teams got destroyed. Cal
forty nine, Central seven, Ballard three, Trinity thirty five, Bill
at East twenty eight fore Kentucky Country Date forty seven,
(17:41):
Holy Cross twenty Mile High School forty two, Southern zero
another running clock, San Xavier twenty eight Manual seventeen. Very
good game. And our game of the week, George, was
Atherton thirty, Butler zero. So Coach Waite continued doing great
things at Athletic. So, George, that's what we got. High
(18:02):
school this week, Ballad at Odham County. That's a big game.
The sales at Central Oooh, George, that's another big game
for you. Manu at PRP Eastern at Trinity, Mail at
Fern Creek, Seneca Aftertude. So, George, that's what we have
for this week. Now let's get back to it. George.
Someone got my money. That's all I can say to you.
(18:25):
And he's a personal friend of yours. You'll really be
happy to hear about this. There were a lot of
people that were really close, but it was a really
difficult week. No one went every game. There were only four.
There were no four and os, not one I had.
Patty was three and one, Ron was three and one,
(18:46):
Dwight was three and one, and Mary was three and one.
Steve was three and one. Those are only three and ones.
Everyone else we're two and two. The winner to George
the winner because he got out of his late. Like
(19:06):
I told people, everyone just thinks they kind of take
the chalks or take the home team, or well, not
this guy. Dwight Gibson was three and one. He did
not get in the Briars Bush with me. He had
Indiana thirty five Oregon twenty seven. He was a winner.
(19:28):
Patty also was three and one, but she got into
Briars Bush with me and lost. So those are the
people that had legitimate opportunities. Ron was three and one,
but he picked Oregon, not Indiana. Got me. He took
Oregon twenty eight twenty seven. So Dwight had the winner.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
So did Patty.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
She had the winner. But the issue was that Texas game.
George the Texas game. Ever, everyone Oklahoma, thought Texas was dead,
thought Manning was done, and they weren't played really, really
really well. Texas comes out wins that game, and that
was the difference maker for a lot of people. Almost everyone,
(20:15):
I mean almost everyone took Oklahoma. Scott took Texas, okay,
but he took Oregon to win the game, or he
would have been four. And oh, excuse me, Scott, I
left you out. Scott had Texas, but he didn't have
he had Oregon. He lost that game. James had Texas,
(20:36):
but he had Oregon thirty five to twenty four. I'm sorry, guys,
I'm just looking at all of mine. I had multiple
three and one people, But the difference was the Texas game,
and not very many people picked Indiana to win it
other than Patty and Dwhite were the only people that picked.
And make sure and I am sure no. Kevin also
(21:01):
had Indiana thirty three Oregon thirty one, but he was
two and two. He picked Missouri in Oklahoma, so he
was two and two. So it was just a great week, guys,
very difficult week. Dwight Gibson wins it. He had the
winner Indiana thirty five. It was thirty twenty as you
all well know Oregon twenty seven, and that's the deal.
(21:23):
Patty was closer. She was thirty Indiana twenty seven, got
me thirty twenty seven Indiana, but she got in the
briers patch with me and lost, so I could have
kept all the money. But Georgia, I'm trying to be fair.
I'm trying to be fair. So if you really want
(21:45):
to look at it, before everyone starts whining, Patty was
three and one. She had the correct winner of the
game that mattered the Indiana Oregon game thirty to twenty seven,
but she lost to me. Okay, she lost to me.
Instead of just wiping you all out saying no, no, na, no,
I'm not gonna do that, Billy Hayes said, try to
(22:06):
be fair sometimes. So I went to the second person,
which was Dwhite. So George Williams Dwight was three and one.
He had the correct winning the Indiana game. What do
you think should I pay George? Or should I do
like I did three weeks ago and say no, the
person that gets in the briars bush gets preferenced, because
(22:30):
that's just the deal. So George, should I pay her?
Shouldn't I pay to D? White? Your friend, I think
we lost. George. Okay, well that's fine, George call back in.
That's fine. So that's what's transpired last week. It was
(22:53):
really close. And guys, when these games are good and
the first caller picked the most difficult game to pick,
just don't call him. Pick your team. It's easy some games.
I mean Kentucky. Honestly, if a catfan caught into Kentucky,
(23:13):
they'd get them. And I don't know if this game
would be a round. I would expect Texas to win,
but I'm gonna be honest with you. That could be
upset City. The Kentucky game this week at home against
Texas could be if Kentucky could put any points on
the board, upset City over Texas could be. Well, we've
got a we've got a five game slate, five games
(23:35):
slate this week, so let me just give you those. So, Dwight,
I got a winner, but I haven't decided yet, because
three weeks ago I said no, Patty was the legitimate winner.
Patty had Indiana thirty Oregon twenty seven got me. The
score was thirty twenty. She was closer than dawahit it's
(24:00):
thirty five twenty seven got me. She was closer to
the actual score she got in the Briars patch with me,
I beat her, Okay I did. I took the under,
so fifty points was the total. I took twenty nine
and I beat her by one point. So the question
is for all my callers, does d White get anything
(24:20):
or do I get to do like I did three
weeks ago? No, I know it. I can't take such
leave with this. I just can't be so proud of
beating you all. I'm gonna have to stop this. I
really am gonna have to stop. I just love it
so much, so I'm gonna have to stop it. So
before we get our second break and try to bring
(24:41):
George back, something's happened to George. He's back, George. Are
you with me? George?
Speaker 2 (24:48):
You was asking about sid you give the money away?
I heard you, I heard you, but you couldn't hear me.
But what I was saying is is this the same
the White gets to block your shot at Kendy hay Far.
He was a little boy and now he's still dominate.
You Give the guy that dominates you all your life
the money, Jed. It's only right. He's been winning since
you was a little boy.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
I'm so glad you said that. I'm so glad.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Now you're gonna keep cocky dominated you in the game.
I'll come out dreed. The fans are gonna get us
eat cheat.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
I am a George cheat.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
I have.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
What a guy three weeks ago, George, the same thing happened,
and guess what.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
They didn't You kept did not get him money?
Speaker 1 (25:31):
No, darn Martin got his money. I shouldn't have paid
that man, but.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
He got it. He went to mom. Hun didn't the
mom hu.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
He gave mom communion yesterday. So see he knows how
to cheat. He gave mother communion yesterday. He really did.
That's wh waves up. Brother dunbar, brother dunbar. But no,
Dwight loss. I beat him, Paddy won, I beat her,
Patty beat the white. Should have gotten the bars bush
with me the White. You had a chance to get
(26:01):
a hundred. Not my fault, George. No, hey, George, he
answer fans.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
No, can I say one thing, Jared, Go ahead, George,
fans weaven we're going on like it's about the games
that were going on so long. Jerry's still a little depressed.
He's trying to get over this you know, he's losing
so much money. He may talk about this the rest
of the show, and especially because the White has beating
him like it's for so many years. But Jared, let
(26:28):
it go. Man, you lost, Just let it go. We
know you're not we know you're not winning beatings.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
He did not beat Patty. He did not beat Patty.
It's not my fault. I'm not cheating. But this is
what I'll do, George.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Well, it's the bribe. Bus was the killer for a
lot of people.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
It is a kill. I got Patty. I'm gonna bump
it up George this week.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Oh oh, dollars out.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Of the bush. One hundred and fifty dollars in the bush.
And I want my last week's caller to let people know, yes,
he resive to check for one hundred and fifty dollars
from Evesworts Radio Slash Couten Country, Commonwealth Dodge. You you
know what though, George, Uh, you to Billy and saying boot, hey,
(27:16):
have you noticed my man John Carney. George comes in,
he lays the most beautiful floor in my laundry room.
I mean again, his workers are the best. He the worst.
But you notice he's mighty quiet.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
You notice John Cardinal all in one breath there, all
in one breath.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
I said, a complement, got your tongue. Yes, cat got
your tongue, John, Cat got your tongue. I'm sorry, Cardinal
got your tongue. Hey, George. When we come back from break,
we're talking about what's gonna happen next month? Who two
Cardinal victories? George? Basketball and football? How you feel?
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Yeah, y'all been playing them games like yeah, Bodman Green
coming back?
Speaker 1 (27:57):
How you go? You're gonna talk about it after break,
seven thirty nine the Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
We'll talk to you in second.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Welcome back to the Sports Radio seven forty one. Hey,
George Williams. Everybody's sitting up there going when you're gonna
talk about James Franklin. Why Yeah? But okay, here's the
deal of George. I gotta read something before we go there.
Someone sent me this on my question. I watched Georgia
(28:25):
slash Auburn. That's the worst officiated game I've ever seen.
It was It was not an Auburn touchdown, it was
a fumble this person's opinion, But the time out that
just was pure bs. George. So that was the one
comment back on the Georgia game. Now, George, before we
(28:45):
get to we're we're gonna do Franklin at the end.
I just gotta ask you. We've got University of Louisville
University Kentucky basketball November the eleven, Georgia month away, eight pm.
Yeah what I'm saying? What you think, George? Before the
football game? None? Now, George, does this make any sense
(29:09):
at all? Just tell me any sense.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
It's all about the dollars, about the dollar. We got
to open it up so we can. We gotta make
everybody go and start buying our stuff. Right now? What
station to watch? Who's the most dominant? And we're gonna
open up with two powerful teams, and what better rivalry
to open up than Louisville and Kentucky. So, you know,
I think it's a it's a good seeing on the
(29:35):
producers for the show, you know, But for fans, I
think it's a little too early to bring that game.
I would like for them to both get ranked and
get about where they both come in highly ranked. Jery,
you know what I mean, and it means something. I
mean preseason we know that don't mean anything. Any back
can be ranked preseason we watched you know what I
mean this year, You know what I mean, who came
out first? But I think Jared a rival that sort
(29:56):
should be right there, like they were doing it in
January into Deceming, you know, Jed, I just think it's much,
much too early, But I think it's all for the
TV stations.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
Really. Look, but George, here's the first Ken Palm rating
is out. Yeah, and like you said, Texas ranked number
one this year in football, lost great first game at
Ohio State, but that was all Sime. You've got Houston,
Florida Perdue, which surprises me, Kentucky's four, Connecticut five, Illinois six,
Duke seven, Gonzaga eighth, Tennessee's nine, UCLA's ten, Nick Cronin
(30:29):
my man Michigan's eleven, Texas, Texas twelve. I always say
it's thirteen and PK University of louis Cardinals are fourteen.
Georgia and the first Kim Pom. So that's where we are.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Yeah, but think me about that. If you let those
first five teams you just named off play about five
games and then you bring that Kentucky Louisville game to
the Sea, you know it would mean a lot more
it would be. You know, I just think I just
think they should play when it really means something, just
because it's such a rivalry, you know what I mean.
I think right now, I mean it's good for the fans,
(31:02):
but I mean for the TV people. But I think
if you let them play Jerry and both of them
come in like three and two, uh, you know, ranked
number three in the country, number two in the country
playing number five in the country, I think that's about
I mean, like you said, Je preseason, everybody's good because
nobody's played. Nobody, nobody's been hitting the job yet nobody's bleeding,
so everybody looks fantastic. Got back as one. Okay, now
(31:24):
let's play it when you've done played some people some competition.
You know, I think the day the plan du because
somebody that would be fantastic, But playing each other, I
just think it's much much too early for me.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
Anyway, right all I can say this year, George Man,
I'm gonna do more of it. Tomorrow. We spoke about
Louisville's football non conference schedules. Also, we spoke about it.
That's and we don't know what we have. We have
the one loss we just you have no idea what's
gonna happen Friday night at Miami. But here's the deal.
(31:54):
The basketball team exhibition Kansas George. That's a thirteen days
from today, buckmail on the twenty eighth. Always a hard
team to play. South Carolina State's an easy win. Jackson
State's easy win. Then they've got Kentucky, George.
Speaker 4 (32:09):
They've got Louis has got Cincinnati, Louis got Arkansas, Louis
got Indiana, Louvers got uh Memphis, Louis got Tennessee non conference.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
This year.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
The schedule was you know, we talked about earlier.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Not this year. They will not say coach Kelsey not
playing somebody this year. No, they will not. He's got
a schedule. I'm great.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
I understand though, Jed. But but your question was about
the Kentucky, the Kentucky Louisville game being played till early.
That was the question. Not that we're saying he's ducking nobody.
We just saying early. No, that's around.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
He has got it. He has got a very So
this Kentucky they got tested, George. They're gonna be tested,
both teams, both teams getting tested. Me it's George I'm
up here as George. I'm with you. I agree they
should not play the game just early. But I have
been in rooms, George, trying to make schedules, and when
you're trying to make them fit, it's very difficult. In
(33:09):
Kentucky took some dates away. I want people to know.
This is what Louis was complete doing. Kentucky took some
dates away. Also, guys, fact, that's fight, so you know
you have to find the date. I would like to
see the football game first, the basketball game second. I'm
just a purist. I agree, I agree, but both teams. George,
we got a fantastic basketball see you would you.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Would like to see the basketball game? You like to
see it early?
Speaker 1 (33:33):
No, I want to see football first, basketball second, the
football games.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
What do you think that basketball? Well, when do you
think Louisvian Kentucky to me at the beginning of the season,
A middle of the season.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Figure out. I love where they had it sitting right there,
December nineteen twenty twenty. First, I loved the holiday off.
I just loved it. Yes, I loved it there. But
both teams had conflicts. I want people to know both
teams had conflicts. So I'm a pure with you, George.
I think most people are going, what the heck's going on?
(34:03):
We're gonna have the basketball game of the Young Center
before we have the football game at L and n
Staateium kind of question jed.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Question to you, do you think n I L is drivingus?
Speaker 1 (34:15):
So you no, I mean I think recruiting in I
L both games, both games. No, because even when it
was December twenty of George sellouts great crowds in national TV.
So they're not gaining anything going early. They're gonna have
a sellout national TV. Well, I mean, George, during the week,
it's kind of suspect. I like Saturday's better. So I
would say no, I would.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
Say no, but I has anything to do with this
in recruiting.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
No, not, because George, the schedule is so tough top
the bottom. Now nobody's they They've got great games both teams,
So I don't.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Think so you're right about that outstanding schedules.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
So George, we don't get to our last break. When
we come back. We got to talk to you about
your boy James Franklin. He's a great program builder, George,
he is.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
He just couldn't take him over the hump.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
Eave Sworts Radio will talk you all after the break.
Welcome back to Eves Sports Radio. I've got setting mine
the glass, and of course I've got George Williams. George,
these are the games where we go to James Franklin.
This week's game Friday night, Louisville at number two ranked
Miami will any one ranked? Yes, it will exactly if
(35:28):
air drug controllers are working and I can get there,
I'll be there. But then looks like it's gonna be
a hiccup. I'm not going it is Texas twenty one
ranked Texas at Kentucky Michigan State at number three. IU, congratulations, IU,
coach SINETI great job. Number five Ole Miss, first real test,
(35:49):
real test for Old Miss at number nine, Georgia between
the hedges and number eleven Tennessee at number six Alabama. George,
it's five game week and again, George Williams, there will
be nobody, no one will go five and you can't
pick these. These are all great games, great sir. So now, George,
(36:14):
what do you think I'm gonna just throw it to you,
James Franklin, give me your opinion.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
Well, you know, I think he has some of the
great team. I think we expected great things out of him.
They paid him good money to produce. Uh. He seems
like he's seems like he's lost the team Jerre. More
than he can't coach. It seems something like it's a
team in him there because we look at we look
at that last game with the talent they have it
(36:40):
pen and I don't want to just you know, talk
bad about the other teams, but it seemed like that
they were more dominant to them and they should have
dominated them there, and the way that they lost that
game there, it seems like it's internally going on rather
than I can't coach the game. I don't think if
players want to play for him, I win the game
for him. I think that's what's going on, Joe. I
don't know what it is, and I'm not into the program.
(37:01):
I can't say that. And I think the man can
definitely coach. But you know, you've been watching the downfall
Jedge look like a team just been to tear rating
each game to get a little worse instead of getting better.
They're going backwards.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Oh, there's no question lost their last three to at home.
I mean they're losing everyone now.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
But look who they lost their last one two.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
I know, George, they lost to me. Hey Simmons beat them.
I mean they're they're losing everyone. Twelve seasons at the school,
James Franklin owed more than forty nine million first contract.
It's the second biggest buy out in college football history,
behind only Jimbo Fisher's seventy six million dollar boy out
in Texas. A and M George, Sure, if.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
I am gonna get fired, I would like to leave
with forty nine million dollars in my pocket.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
He's not mad, absolutely, his feelings were hurt for about
thirty seconds, right, George, he will get it out. Call
my accountant, that's who George. He will get it another job.
He will. He's done a great job at Penn State.
They just have not won big games. That's all there
is to it, George.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
They have not.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
They've been close, but they've never been able to get
over the hump. And he said the same thing about
John Caliperry. Guys, my guy, it was just time to
move on from Kentucky. Every coach has the league. It's
not personal. You're not staying forever anymore. Twelve years is
a long time at Happy Valley twelve years. So I
want people to understand he was paid for the work
(38:32):
he put in. He did a great job at Penn State.
He just couldn't win the big one. Penn State is
about winning the big one. No, I'm not upset about
letting him go. Like Shennon said, he could win his
next games, end up nine to three, and guys, there
we are. So Shennon, I know I got a minute.
Bring Ac on the show. Let me have it. Boy Ac,
(38:53):
you truly do have thirty seconds?
Speaker 2 (38:55):
What you got for medty seconds?
Speaker 1 (39:00):
And I was on the whole for h exactly a
se You got no seconds now, George, everybody have a
wonderful Monday. God willing will be back tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
About talk to you. Fried To gotta be willing, you
know it.
