Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to Eve Sworts Radio, Thursday, November the twenty,
twenty twenty five. Phone numbers five zero two five seventy
nine hundred. That's five zero two five seven one seventy
nine hundred. This is Sports Talk seven ninety KRD, and
of course I am the brand. Welcome back to the show.
(00:23):
Sitting in by myself today, Shannon's behind the glass waiting
to take your calls. Missing outside, not raining, just missing
about forty five degrees. Not gonna be a bad day.
But I leave a little early. If you've got to
go downtown. You never know when there's going to be construction.
There's always a construction alert. If you're heading downtown Louisville,
(00:44):
you're gonna get caught in some kind of construction. So
leave a little early. But welcome back to the show now, guys,
not very often do I start the show with a complaint,
but I've I've got a true complaint.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Now.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
I don't know what I should do about it, so
I guess I should just call it out the way
it is. Everyone knows I'm the athletic director at Simmons
College off Kentucky. We all understand that that's my bread
and butter best job I've ever had, and I've got
my radio show. Seven eight. Well, my fifty six year
old friend, Reverend Cosby, president of Simmons College, and my
(01:24):
pastor goes into a muffler shop yesterday named Highway Muffler.
I've never been there. I'm gonna come by and see
Highway Muffler. His name is Doug Barnes. So look here, Doug,
between you and I, you can't tell my boss I
(01:45):
got a side gig. That's like telling you a wife,
you got a side girlfriend. You're trying to get me
run out of here? What's going on? So Doug, you
and I we've got to talk. We gotta meet Doug
because I can't believe it did that. Reverend calls calls
me up and says, hey, Jerry, this is this guy
named Doug Barnes. He says he listens to your show
(02:05):
every day. He says he's taking great care of me
here at Highway Muffler. But what about this side gig?
I said, Oh my god, Doug snitched on me. So Doug,
keep my name out of your Noug. I'm playing. I'm
only playing brother. I appreciate it. Reverend Cosby told me
(02:29):
that you took great care of him in Highway, Muffler,
and that you listen to the show every day. So
I appreciate that. I just had to give you a
hard time. Let you, you know, make sure you know
that you just gave up my side. Gig sh don't
tell my balls. No. I appreciate it, and thank you
(02:50):
for taking care of Reverend Cosby. He is, without a doubt,
the best. I'm telling you. So, guys, it's Thursday, November
the twentieth, one week from Thanksgiving. Can you believe this?
I'm just gonna be honest with you. Sheila and I
put up our Christmas tree last night. I don't know
about you all, but I told you I'm ready. I'm
(03:11):
already ready. We put up one of the two trees.
So if someone rides by my house tonight, and tonight
is anytime after five point thirty, because it's dark, you're
going to see the lights on in the front. That's
all I can tell you. Christmas is around the corner.
Thanksgiving is one week away, so that segments me into
(03:31):
some news that we have to get out. Of course,
we know the games for this week. Louisvo SMU, Kentucky
Vanderbilt is the score that you have to give me. Missouri, Oklahoma, USC, Oregon, Pittsburgh,
Georgia Tech. Those are the games of the week. It
is a one hundred dollars a week. No Brier's patch
(03:54):
two hundred dollars. If you get in the patch with me.
But if you get in and get beat, you just
get beat. That's all there is to it. You get beat.
So let's just continue. We've got a short week next
week you'll so you'll know. It's a big week. It's
rivalry week. Of course. We have got Kentucky and Louisville
playing guys. We've got all kinds of rival games. I've
(04:17):
got them down. We've got Ohio State at Michigan State
at Michigan. Excuse me, Michigan's beat them the last two years,
Michigan says. Ohio State is who we say they are soft.
We've got Kentucky at Louisville. Oh, what a game. I
need the sweep, I need the pie. I'm calling the
sweep for Louisville. We've got Vanderbilt at Tennessee, a rivalry game.
(04:44):
We've got Georgia at Georgia Tech. The ACC has to
have that game that's Friday at three thirty. Friday at
three thirty, the ACC has to have that game. Just
so you'll understand, We've got Indiana at Purdue. I'm not
putting that on my list for anything in the world.
I love Purdue. I've had numerous graduates in my family
(05:05):
from Purdue. Boilermakers have a great basketball team for their
football team stinks, So that will not be one of
the five games. We've got Texas A and M at Texas,
and Texas has to have that game to push to
try to vault themselves from seventeenth to twelfth. They're gonna
have to upset Texas A and M. You can be
guaranteed that's one of my games. And we've got Alabama
(05:30):
at Olver So guys, we've got a busy, busy week
next week and I'm only going to be on Monday
and Tuesday. So yes, I will be taking them through
my J L Eves five five five at yahoo dot com.
That's my email j L e a v e S
(05:50):
five five five at yahoo dot com for next week's games.
I will let you know those games really soon which
the five will be. I might even throw an NFL
game if it's tough to pick. I'll make these last
five or six weeks extremely difficult. I'm gonna make people
truly have to make good decisions. So we know that
(06:12):
today we've got Lee Stirling seven forty. He'll come on
and give you his predictions and what he thinks is
gonna happen. And I mean, this year's so topsy turvy.
I don't know how you could pick them. We're not gambling, guys.
We've got town and Country, We've got Commonwealth Dodge. We've
got Billy Hayes that allows me to give you all money. Period.
(06:34):
You all do not have to put up money. This
is not gambling. This is just fun to see what
your knowledge is. It's free cash from common Country, Forward
and Commonwealth Dodge. Period. That's all they go. See Chuck Kane,
without a doubt, the coolest guy in the business. You
want a Ford and we know this is a Ford town.
I can't lie to you. I've got every Ford. I've
(06:55):
got my Shelby Cobra, I love it, but dang it,
my Dodge Ram is the best automobile I've have a head.
I'm sorry, period, point play all there is to it.
So Collingwell of Dodge is straight down the street. You
in where to find them. So let's move on. We've
got all kind of complaints. We've got new head coaches.
James Franklin is now at Virginia Tech. That's an upgrade.
(07:19):
I like that for the ACC. Congratulations to James Franklin.
That is an upgrade. Maybe he can bring back the
old Frank Beemer Virginia Tech. Hopefully. I think he'll be
able to do an adequate job in the ACC. And
the ACC needs a upgrade, and it's coaching, there's no
question about that. So we know we've got that going on.
(07:42):
I'm going to finish with my analysis on the Wildcats
after the break. We're gonna go to break soon. You
all have to get your calls in, but before seven
forty today and all day tomorrow for your games for
this week, and then we're going to get into this
college football playoff. And guys, I'm gonna explain it to you.
(08:04):
The committee's corrupt. This isn't hard. It's truly not hard.
They're making it difficult. And we're gonna talk about that
a little bit also, So you got a lot of
things to do today now before we go. We know
this lane Kiff and Saga. He's been everywhere. His family
(08:30):
has gone to Florida, his family's gone to LSU. You know,
he's the coach at ole Miss at this time. If
I was o Miss, I don't know why these universities don't.
I had no problem with him. He's done a great
job at ole Miss. He has and I'm sure Old
Miss will try to up the ANNIE. But they can't
do what a Florida can do. They can't do it
(08:51):
an LSU can do. But I would ask you gentlemen
to gentlemen or a lady to gentlemen, doesn't make many
difference who the president is. It is a gentleman, but
it wouldn't make any difference. Make a decision. That's all
just dragging it out now that we know that you're
taking visits, take your visits, do your due diligence, and
(09:12):
make a decision. For some reason, universities are frightened to
look at their employees and ask them make a decision
so that we can do the best thing for our program.
Here is our best offer. Please make your decision. That's all.
So Guy seven to fifteen already we're gonna stay on task.
(09:34):
Phone numbers five zero two, five nine hundred. Get your
calls in so we can get your games in for
this week. We know the game that matters Kentucky Vanderbilt,
and guys, it's been a mixed bag and girls, it's
been a mixed bag. I'm telling you, this is the
kind of game I want. Some go with Vandy, some
(09:54):
have gone with Kentucky. That's what we need with all
the games. So I'm gonna be picking really games these
last four or five or six weeks. So anyway, Shannon,
this is Eve Sworts Radio for numbers five zero two,
five seven, nine hundred. We'll be back. We're gonna finish
up with Kentucky because I really didn't get to finish
up with them and some of their issues. Then we're
(10:16):
gonna go into the college football playoffs. Hey, Doug Barnes,
keep my name. No appreciate you listening to Eves Sworts Radio.
And that's a highway muffler. All I know is Reverend
Cosby raves about the place. We'll talk to you all
after the break. Welcome back to even Sports Radio. Like
Shannon says, you're up, put her up, baby, Well, we've
(10:39):
got our first caller. We've got Joe, Joe, make sure
you turn your radio down so that how are you Joe?
Welgo needs going great, Derek, I'm ready to way for
without a doubt. Slow your rope, you know you little
too energetic, slow your road too early for that wanting
(10:59):
to take my money? That's okay, Joe. Tell me what
you got Kentucky Vanderbilt. That's the game, that is all
I got.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Yeah, Brandy, what's the score's? Oh that it's gonna be
twenty eight. Let me see, I'll get twenty one if
ain't nobody got it?
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Oh that may I get? If not twenty eight the
third you're good? You said you said twenty eight, twenty one? Correct? Yeah,
you tol me twenty okay, twenty eight Vanderbilt twenty one Kentucky.
Are you getting in the briars bush? Are you staying? No?
Speaker 4 (11:45):
No, I get.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
I love that. Go on and laugh again. That lets
me know I am around here.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
That's you can call when it comes to that. You
can't win in the bar bush, bro, all you do
is go one part. Know how I'm gonna win.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Man exactly exactly. I make the rules. So Louisville s.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
M U louis.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Listening.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
I'm sorry, go ahead, go ahead, No, you go ahead, No,
I'm they don't have the running back. Uh, they'll have problems,
but I'll have.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
To go with Lovell.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
Okay, I don't think Isaiah Brown's playing, and I think
they're in trouble. Yes, the running game has been fine,
but not the explosion that he has. Drastic difference from
the Miami game with the breakaway to me, but still
there are a lot of issues and a lot of
people are upset with you know, they call him Miller,
miss Miller Moss. I don't know, but everybody is questioning
(12:47):
Miller Moss right now at the University of Louisville. This
sick call. Now, I'm hoping, I'm hoping a running backs.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Well, I'm trying to go ahead.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Missouri and Oklahoma, Oklahoma, what about the running backs at Louisville.
You're hoping what.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
I'm hoping that they don't. I hope, I hope they
play the last two games. They might go ahead and
drop out and go to the polls whether it won't
get hurt, not to the polar but go ahead and
retired to go to the NFL.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
That's and I don't even like that's the subject I
don't even like talking about. Now that the players, some
not all. Do you all want people to understand some
not all are being paid? They should have to play
all the games. They should always have to play all
the guys. As a college player, I would I think
I missed in my total career my sophomore year, I
(13:44):
sprained my ankle really bad. I think I missed four
games and my tired college career. Entire career. So I
mean games, you just don't get enough of them. I
hate that we're in this position. But let's hope that's
not true. USC at Oregon I'll be organ organ Okay,
(14:06):
Pittsburgh at Georgia Tech. Uh, they since they played at
Georgia Tech.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
I'm going with Georgia Tech.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
I agree. You know, this is what I got a
question for you. Georgia Tech played the Boys Club last week.
Excuse me, Boston College the Boys I'm being honest with you,
and almost lost. College is awful. I watched them play. Look,
they are awful. Georgia Tech. I thought I like Haynes King,
their quarterback. I like them, but they've really struggled down
(14:37):
the stretch. I don't know what's gonna happen, but I
would agree with you. I would go with Georgia Tech.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
So but Jared, as you've been a basketball coach, you
don't show the other game your your You gotta hold
something back for your next game. And they don't wanted them,
didn't want to demonstrate that, uh to Georgia because that's
gonna be an upset coming next week.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Georgia Tech doing upset Georgia.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
That's my pick. Okay, well that that's probably gonna be
one of my games next week. I would have told
you no way in h E double l L. Right,
But last year I went to double overtime, may have
been triple overtime. It was a dogfight. So I just
know I will still be leaning Georgia. The game is.
(15:19):
I think that game is at Georgia Tech this year. Correct,
I haven't done let me love that's right. Yes, that
game is at Georgia Tech this year Friday at three thirty.
It's gonna be interesting next week.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
To going upset Alabama.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
You watching see who who It's gonna be. What a
rival week, that's all. It's gonna be a great weep. Joe.
You know I appreciate you, man. Thank you for calling in.
Take care of yourself, all right, thank you man. Okay, guys,
at seven seven twenty five, we just finished with Joe,
(15:54):
So let's get back to some of the Kentucky issues
that I didn't get to finish with. This is very
slay Wildcat fans. Michigan State game. It didn't surprise me,
but it was still too many. But it didn't surprise me.
This did surprise me, and its stats are both games.
In the Louisville game, I expected Kentucky ta maul Louisville
(16:16):
on the boards, I did. When you have the Louisville
game rebounding Kentucky forty two, Louisville forty Kentucky thirteen offensive rebounds,
Louisville thirteen offensive rebounds. Guys, that's a problem. That's all
there is to it. Okay, let's just say that was
just an enigma in the Louisville game Rivalry game two
(16:39):
early in the year. Okay, I didn't think I knew
Michigan State what they did do. No one expected them
to hit seven threes in the first quarter, and I
ended up hitting fifty percent of their threes. They did not,
but people did expect them to rebound the ball. And
if you all do remember, early in the game, Coach
Polk had Kentucky trapping the low post because he respected
(17:03):
the size and the interior game of Michigan State. And secondly,
he was saying, let's continue to make Michigan State perimeter.
They can't beat us with the three pointers. Okay, So
Kentucky did trap early in the game three or four times.
They stopped as the game went on because Michigan State
was making them pay when they were hitting their three
(17:24):
point shots with the inside out game, which is the way. Okay,
what does that do? I mean inside out? Michigan State
started on the interior. If you remember their first two
jump hooks by their center, he shot them below the rim.
The announcer even said both those balls were below the rim.
Jay Billis said, but they got comfortable. He made a three,
(17:45):
he got comfortable. But Michigan State played inside out. Kentucky
is not playing inside out. You've got people shooting threes
that should not be shooting threes all the time. Now, diabate,
come on all the time. I love all way. Last
year he hit every big shot. I still think he's
a little injured, but he's still not playing to his
(18:07):
strength shooting six threes. He's not so Kentucky's not playing
inside out against anyone any of their opponents, and you
can see the results. There's no flidity, there's no team play.
Whoever gets it almost shoots it. It's just not good basketball.
(18:28):
And the two major games they've played, both teams have
had him down twenty continuously throughout both games. That's a
bad reflection. That's reflection. That's a reflection on coach Pope. Now,
before the Michigan State game, the reason you all listen
to the sports radio and Adam, I'm coming to you,
(18:50):
I told you all that the minutes play was glaring.
It was like a yellow light, just blinking, blinking, blinking, blank, Like,
what is all this minutes? The dispersement of minutes. God's
minutes are earned, period, point blank. I try to earn
you all's listenership. I don't want you all listening a
(19:11):
little bit of me and a little bit of my
propaganda throughout my hour. I want you to listen to me, right.
I want my content to be strong enough to where
you have to listen to me. Well. When a coach
or the producers and says ah Jerry, you're a little
slow today. I'm gonna go to Matt Jones's show. Then, Jerry,
I'm gonna go to Leech's show, got me? Or I'm
(19:32):
gonna go to Whoever's show? Okay, Marcus Maven show my
producer makes Then I, as the entertainer, have to say,
I got to up my game. Guys. Players want to play.
That's all there is to it. Giving away minutes is
not good. Minutes must be earned. Those are two of
(19:54):
the issues that as can take. He goes for it.
They play tomorrow. I'm sure they'll win tomorrow. But I
want to see them all in teams, and I want
to see eight people playing I do. I want to
see eight people establish themselves in practice that I'm better
than the other guy and I deserve the minutes. I
used to tell my team, my players, I'm telling you all.
It was real simple. If a player came to me
(20:18):
and said, X, Y, and Z and not playing me right,
I'm not getting enough minutes, I would tell him, boy,
you are so right. I did make a bad decision.
He said, what do you mean, Coach yep, I played
you because if I play you, you must produce period,
point blank, I don't care when I play you. I
played the last thirty seconds, the first thirty seconds. You
must produce. The player's job is to produce. So let's
(20:43):
get to Adam. It's already seven twenty nine before we
get to my second break. Adam, welcome to the show.
How are you?
Speaker 4 (20:49):
And I'm doing fine, Jerry, just listening to your your
fine preaching this morning. It sounds great, it's good.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
I like it preciding and I'm just trying to explain
to people Kentucky, we haven't seen if they're good or not.
I'm just gonna be honest with you. They've got mauled
into games.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
Well they're good. Hey, they have the best players money
can buy, and it's you can google that. But I
just don't think they're jeling there. They're gonna geil. Just
give them some time. They you know, it's it's like
every price. The thing is with U L and Kelsey
(21:30):
and those guys. They they've been together a little bit longer.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
You know.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
We've got a couple of guys that came back. So
there's some structure there, foundation there. So I mean, but
we're only gonna get better, So I mean pushing that
game off like all of them were saying, like they
don't like playing early. I mean, I mean, what are
we gonna hang one hundred and ten on you? I mean,
(21:56):
we got a bus all down here, and it's really
great to feel that way, because I haven't felt that
way in a long time.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
No, I agree, straight honest with you, man. No, No,
you're you're you're correct. Louisville hasn't had anything that youre for,
Coach Kelsey Man, something to look forward to. There's no
there's no question about that, so let's go with it.
Then you've got Kentucky and Vanderbilt, the game that matters.
I need your points on it.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
I'm gonna take Vandervelt. I'm gonna go twenty four Kentucky
twenty one.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Are you getting in the Briars patch with me?
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (22:40):
Yeah, I'll get in the Briar's patch with you. Yes,
you're gonna think over.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
I'm taking the over. I'm taking the over. Got you five?
Van one? Kentucky, You've got louis.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Uh, you're little little. I just take Lobo, man.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
Come on, well, you laughing, I'm loyal.
Speaker 4 (23:06):
I don't care.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
I know what you laugh to. Don't put it on me.
You laugh. Missouri, we have no idea what's gonna happen, Adam.
We have absolutely no idea what's gonna happen in the
s m U game or the Kentucky game. If you
have asked us four weeks ago, I would have told
everybody the sweet I have to win this basketball game.
(23:29):
The football game is ours. You know. You can't say
the football game is hours right now? Today it is.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
No I know, and I was. I was talking so
much junk to Williams. Gosh, he's gonna make me eat
my words.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
He's gonna get don't worry about that, Adam. If I
gotta go down the I'm winning this game next week.
I need this pie. I don't care. This was personal.
Missouri and Oklahoma, We're gonna win that game. I'll run
brom out myself. I gotta have it.
Speaker 6 (23:59):
Missouri overow Oklahoma, Okay, usc It, Oregon, Oregon and Pittsburgh
and Georgia Tech. And I gotta get to break.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Georgia Tech. Got you, Adam, Hey, I love you guys.
You gotta take care.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
YouTube, take care of be safe Esports Radio, and take
us away. We'll have a very short segment. Then we'll
have Lee's turning back on at seven forty. Talk to
you in a minute. Welcome back to the sports radio.
Guys did seven forty. I had to make sure we
got it in because I've always been cutting my one
and only Lee a little short. Welcome Lee's starling Permount
(24:41):
Sports the EVE Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Are you doing, Lee, I'm good, I'm good. Uh felt
terrible yesterday. Well last night I went to the Heat
game last night against Golden State Warriors, and around a
bunch of people who bought ticket for the games for
their kids, and yeah, these kids are hoping to see
(25:04):
Steph courry baby but placed the night before he and
Jimmy Butler had thirty plus points. It wasn't like they
were flying from Detroit to Miami. Uh, they sure looked fine.
And that did not play. You know, load man, even Drake.
(25:24):
The leagues got is horrible.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
It's hard. I mean, the league has issues. The I
love Steph, the league has issues. And if you didn't
see the play the last player of the Dallas Mavericks
New York Knick game last night, oh my god, the
miscall they called the hook, I mean that was the
second file. The riding of the offensive player was the
first file, which they did not call. They called the
second file, which was awful. It should have been a
(25:49):
three point play. Dallas should have won at the free
throw line. It's just awful. The league's got boblers. My
fraternity is in trouble. Now live here because you got games.
But I got to ask you a serious question. I
couldn't get to it today. If you look at the
top ten college teams and how many wins they have
against current ranked teams, here's how it goes. Oil State one, Okay,
(26:10):
Indiana one, O, Texas A and M two, Georgia three,
O Miss two, Oregon none against top ten teams Texas
Tech three, Oklahoma three, notre Day one, Alabama four. My opinion,
which I'm gonna get into tomorrow with my people, you
should have Georgia at one, Bama at two, Ohio State,
(26:34):
and Indiana should be three. Four. That's my opinion. What
is yours? That's my true opinion. Then blame anybody. It's
not their faults. So bad Alabama Alabama's no.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
But Alabama's lost top Florida State so bad. I couldn't prove.
So you have Texas with two wins against top top
ranked teams.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Texas A and M Texas A and M Texas A
and M.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
No, not Texas, Oh that's right. Beating Missouri, Okay, then
beating Missouri. Missouri was a top twenty team. Not yes,
not top ten? Yes, all right, yes Texas M. Yeah, okay, no,
tex Am is good. That was the game of the
week last week. That was That was the wail of
a game. So I had a friend of mine who's
(27:14):
an A and M text A and M fan. He
had seventeen messages, seventeen messages from his Texas friends at halftime,
just just just rolling him, I mean. And then crickets
of course after A and M comes back and wins
the game. So well, that was quite a game to watch.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
So quite a game. So yes, there's a lot going
on now in these college football playoffs. But they need
to hire you and I because they're not right. This
is comical. It's a class show. So let's let's get
into it. You've got great games, and the first one
Miami has to have every game and they have to
look good doing it. Miami at Virginia.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
You don't think that they can deny Miami if they
went out and win. Let's say by double digits this week,
and they beat Pitt on the road. I really don't.
It's gonna be very, very tough for them. So REGINI
at Tech, they're gonna probably show Chance Franklin. They're gonna
probably show Franklin on the screen because they hired him
(28:19):
four or five times. They should They should have a
prop there for the over under on that. But that's
really all they have. They have nothing else going on.
I mean, the team is so bad. Here, here's some
of the stats that make you say, wow, They've only
scored thirty points in the whole month of November. They've
allowed two hundred and thirty five rushing yards in a
(28:40):
game in three or four five, three or four games,
the twelve rushing touchdowns. And we know Miami they can
just bully you. So they got this kid Prinkle, who
was the fourth street start as a fourth string running
back for twenty two. He's your speed guy. He's come
in because Fletcher has been hurting and he's been number
(29:00):
two guy to give him, you know, some speed. And
then also Carson Beck's gonna hit you know, Tony probably
down the field here. Uh, it could rain, but it's
gonna be like sixties, so it's not like mid sixties
unseasonably warm. So Miami only just two hundred and eighty
eight yards per game, sixteen points per game. I think
(29:23):
Miami's probably the right side here. Thirty eight fourteen.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Okay, you did you told me that Virginia this win
at thirty points in the last four games. You didn't
say that, did you? Early?
Speaker 2 (29:39):
And they've only scored thirty points in third, only scored
thirty points until all of November. So far.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
It got so badly.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
I mean, their voice Crones is bad. Their quarterback Drones
is bad. He just interception after interception, so he'll be
fired up before for the game. You know the you
know their their their pregame walk, which is incredible. Uh,
they'll introduce Franklin and then by halftime they'll be hitting.
They'll be hitting the tailgating or heading out of town. Yes,
(30:14):
there you go.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Okay, let's go now, Miami. You do believe if you're
this the last College FOOTBA playoffs out Miami was the
eleventh team. You're the only ACC team in. If they stumble.
If they stumble, there will be no A SEC teams
in the collegeotball playoffs this year.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
Georgia, Georgia, Georgia Tech will probably get in then if
Georgia Tech wins out or they win the conference. If
they win this week and win the ACC championship, I
think they'll put Georgia Tech in. It's like the eleventh
team something like that.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
Okay, okay, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
There's so much. There's so much. People always like these hype.
I got my friends who are Miami fans texting me,
calling me, emailing me, all these different scenarios. Just win
your games. If you win, it'll play out. Some of
these teams are gonna lose. You don't think that that
Vanderbilt is probably gonna lose to Tennessee next week. You
don't think that that b YU could lose to Cincinnati.
(31:12):
I mean, there's there's so many teams that can lose.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Don't care, that's true. You must win, baby win. Georgia again.
Almost lost to Boston College. Boys Club, I mean Boston
College last week. I mean boys club? Is the boys club?
I mean almost lost the boys Club. What happens Georgia
What happens to Georgia Tech Pittsburgh this week?
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Here, here's the thing about Georgia Tech. Uh, they've three
or four games they've lost last four against fred as
a double digit favorite. They've lost these games against the spread.
So they they they play these teams that are really
bad and for some reason they have no focus at all.
(31:59):
They remain Inigma number one nationally and yards per game
four hundred and ninety seven yards per game, but lost
at North Carolina State and barely, as you mentioned, got
by Boston College. You know what, Pitt really has no
real quality wins. Tech Tech can beat the virtual pickham games.
They can win those games. Pitt is like one of
(32:21):
these level teams. Paton Ardoozy, I think Patton Ardozy's done
if he loses here and at home against Miami. So
I don't like seven and five. He was seven and
two at one point. He ends up seven and five.
They're getting tired of mediocrity. They did not even compete
in that game. They scored on an interception return and
then a touchdown. Yeah, right at the and right at
(32:42):
the end. They they didn't even compete here. So paton Ardoozy,
another coach, it might be get let go. I like
Georgia Tech here. I think they win this game thirty
one to twenty seven.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Okay, Pitt not competing last week against Notre Dame. Did
that surprise? You did that surprise?
Speaker 2 (33:00):
A little day, I thought he was man. I thought
he was maybe throwing up a smoke screen, saying, you know,
the game really didn't matter. Whenever you play Notre Dame,
it matters. Come on, come on, man.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
For an ac opponent, I wouldn't play Notre Dame though
there's no reason to. A SEC has given itself away
to Notre Dame. I don't like Notre Dame. My listeners
know it, but listen, they're.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
My most hated team, especially when Lou Holtz made the same. Well,
when I was a kid, grown up, you were growing
up as a kid, you watched those Notre Dame HI
highlights with Lindsay Nelson on Sunday mornings. It was like
it was like you were talking to the Almighty. I mean,
they they could lose a game, they could have the
worst half, they could get out score twenty one nothing,
(33:48):
and they could just gloss over it and find two
good plays and then they say on to further action.
Remember that, absolutely absolutely. I mean there's a whole Notre
lou Holts to and then lou Holts to you know
to throw irons in the fire. Then when he talked
to apparently this is what I heard his pregame speech
(34:10):
before they played Miami. He told his team, I want
you to go after and do this and that to Miami,
and you leave Jimmy Johnson to me. Yeah, come on,
Johnson would have.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
For them.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
Well, they won that game. They did win that game.
That was that was the one. That was the one.
That was the one in Notre Dame where I think
Eleonard Connolly Fumley fumble so or the Cleveland Garry fumble,
one of the one of the two.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Yeah, that Notre Dame. I just do not I can't
get along with. But anyway, their work their way back
into the college football playoffs again, like always, they cheer.
They cherry picked the a CC. Since twenty fourteen there
ACC has only won twelve games and lost fifty three.
I don't know why they played them. I just don't
know why they don't make them pick. I wouldn't do it.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
If they didn't want to join m thanks. Yeah, you
can play Army, Navy, Air Force, Stansford, whoever else you
want to play, not playing any ACC teams exactly.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
Cherry picked AC beat him on the a SEC and
then not join the league again. The a SEC has
given itself away and the ACC is in trouble. Let's
get you your next one though. You've got great games
and this is my game of the week, so take
your time. Vanderbilt Kentucky. What happened? Kentucky going to bank?
Speaker 5 (35:31):
Love this game here?
Speaker 2 (35:32):
Love this kid? Okay, all right? So Vanderbilt fighting for
a college playoff spot. They went out. I think they're
in for sure. I mean if they beat Kentucky here,
who is all of a sudden playing better, Uh, and
also beats Tennessee next week they're in Kentucky five and five.
They win, they get to a bowl. So Kentucky has
(35:56):
to play you guys next week. So they want to
win this game. Uh, put that to bed and just
have fun next week. And they save also probably saved
Mark Stoof's job. They're seven to two the last two
years as a plus seven point underdog. This is where
they do their best work. They've all of a sudden
found their running game. Dante Daddle and Seth McGowan over
(36:19):
three hundred and fifty total rushing guards. The last two games.
They've scored thirty eight and forty two points. The last
two SEC games they held Auburn to three, Florida to seven.
Vanderbilt their top rusher not named Diego Pavia the last
two games rush for thirty nine and eleven yards, and
it was just three and two. Last five against Vandy
(36:40):
two losses by seven and three points. I think Vandy
escapes here twenty six to twenty fourth. I love ten
Kentucky tecond point Look, yeah, yeah, yo, I got you.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
No, this is that's it's a great game. It's a
mixed bag, my callers. It's almost fifty to fifty. It
is truly fifty five in this game. So okay, let's
go to s MU Louisville. Louis was visiting SMU this Saturday.
Louis has had two. I don't know. The Clinton game,
my goodness. The Cow game is just disappointing. What do
(37:15):
you think is going on the University of louis.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
Yeah, I mean these teams whenever they they you know,
they give extensions to their coaches, everything goes south. So
I think that I like, since the Miami game, there
hadn't been much to like. I mean, SMU is uh
sound defensively thirty first in the country in points allowed.
(37:41):
Cardinals are thirty ninth. Kevin Jennings uh needs to run more.
For some reason, he thinks that he's you know, the
next you know, Joe Montana out there. You got you
gotta got you got to run some two. Your team
needs you. Here, cam'p back Louisville. I don't know where
they've en mentally physically right now. You know, I love
(38:02):
the two Browns at running back, but you know, the
injuries they've had at the running back position have hurt them.
DB's not making plays on the ball. Lion Clemson to
run the ball right right through you. I like, as
some of you at home twenty seven to twenty eight
just said.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
And they covered gotcha. Yeah, boy, it was just the
California game. I was at the California Game league. It
was so disappointing because they knew Virginia was slippy. They
had a chance to really seize an opportunity, and there
was no sense of urgency whatsoever at all, I mean
at all, really quickly, because you've got to get We've
(38:38):
got the Ravens, and the Jets.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
Love the Ravens. Here Jets spun their wheels again quarterback
Wheels lands back on fifteen year veteran Tyrod Taylor eleven
years after he left Baltimore. It's not gonna matter. This
is what bad teams do. They make quarterback changes like this,
all of a sudden, you know, get the local press
(39:03):
offense back for about a week. Uh. He throws for
five point five yards per attempt. Horrible. After an ugly
field win over Cleveland, Baltimore gets to face the worst
team in the league when it comes to turnover margin.
Get this, the Jets defense doesn't even have an interception
this year. I thought they had out year to get
(39:24):
out zero zero zero none.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
Do you believe? Incredible?
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Now Sauce is gone. Sauce is gone, Williams. You saw
what he did Dallas. How good?
Speaker 1 (39:37):
He looks really really well against the Ravers against the Races.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
One and a half sacks. So Baltimore is gonna win
thirty one to fourteen. Here's I do prop plays also
player props, and we've been on a roll there eleven
and four runs eleven three run in the player props.
In the NFL, I would go with Lamar Jackson here
over one and a half touchdown passes, feasts on bad
teams like this. He's gonna have two three touchdown passes here.
(40:04):
Uh well minus over one and a half touchdown passes
minus one twenty uh that's a great player prop there too.
