Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome back to Eve's Sports Radio. Yes, it is December
the fifth, twenty twenty five, twenty days before Christmas. That's
all twenty days before Christmas. This is Eves Sports Radio.
OH numbers five zero two five seventy nine hundred. That's
five zero two seventy nine hundred for everyone that has
(00:23):
to get in their scores today for for well, of
course today's games and Saturday's football games. We've got some
huge games in store this weekend. Huge basketball games in score,
huge high school football games, the championships in store, great
college basketball.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
I mean, there's not a better time to be on
the radio talking about sports than Christmas time and all
the sports that are going on, and we'll be finding
out about some of the bowl games also, So guys,
there's a lot going on.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
And welcome back to the show. I've got Ritten behind
the glass, I've got Rick behind the glass, and George
is calling me. But he's calling me. I don't know
why he's calling me instead of calling the show. But
you know, George is just a little confused. He's just
a little confused, but he has to call the show. Rick,
So George will be calling in because he just called
(01:17):
me just to let you all know George isn't with
it today. He's not all there, but he'll be calling
and so Rick, because he was calling me now, unless
there's something going on, he'll send me a text that
he may have to do something. But I haven't read
that yet. So I do expect do one and only
George Williams to be calling in. But if not, Rick,
(01:38):
we'll just carry this thing like we always do. We'll
just carry it. So Ricky's trying to call you, Rick,
make sure the phone lines have been tricky all week,
so be expecting it. Because he sent me a text
saying that there was no one answering the phone. Rick,
So you're looking out for George. Now let's just start first,
(01:59):
we have got high school football. We're not going to
neglect high school football. It seemed like everything once the
college basketball season started, we forgot high school football. I mean,
I've done a poor job myself on reporting about the
games and the importance of the games and teams that
are trying to repeat and all the things that are
(02:21):
transpiring because we just get so busy with the college
sports and also high school basketball started. I went to
the Ballart North Odham game and watch that. So there's
just so much going on, but we cannot and I'm
not going to leave out our high school football slate.
So today and George is here, do I have to
(02:43):
take him rip? I'm a fright So Jerry, free of
all pring on to one and only George Williams. Ring
Who George Ring Who ring you.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
The chap, the Champiter, champion tire. You don't have to
comedy ring you comed champ.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Okay, as long as you're.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Whichever one you like, jaed, whichever one you like, champ
ring you know a long time I'm winning.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
I'll take you champ because that's Muhammad Ali ring. You
is Kentucky and I you understand.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah, that's I'm glad you did always. I keep telling you, Jared,
all my life, I've always won championship. I quit playing basketball,
you know what I mean? Way why elementary? You know
I've always been a champion. Where it working?
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Okay, Okay, well again, I just want to make sure
that you let people know that I'm not letting them
know that you have to Thanks George.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Hey, buddy, I'm good, Georgia.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I really am.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
On this game. I come on the show this morning, man,
I went to that game last night, Jared, you're talking
about that South Carolina louisvill game. I haven't been. I
don't think it's been a better game in the young center.
Men are women in that game last night?
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
They played, they played, Jerry big.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
I thought, George that mccartinals got it, got it done.
I thought Don Staley went South Carolina just kept coming.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
George, Boy, Jerry, we talk about this all the time,
and when you talk about champions and how champions play,
you know they it. It mattered to me the o u
c L a team right no matter how big Louisville
got up, no matter how much they came back, they
never broke. They never phased them. They just kept running
their stuff time and time again, Jerry. Clock time management
(04:40):
in the end of that game. I wish a lot
of men could see how they worked that clock and
ran that play. And the player Jeff Wallace ran at
the game was spensafe in the story. I mean every
step and you know, and you know you can always
tell me because Jared, they was just so composed. They
(05:01):
just played right through it. They never broke all the
way to the last second. Coach Staley. She was just
on the sideline, not jumping up and down. The players
were composed, Bible players were composed, Jared, it was matc
and Neverson. The crowd was I haven't seen a crowd
like that in the Young Center since the Young Center opened. Jail.
The crowd was totally totally into it all the way.
(05:22):
It was a great game, Joe. I'm so excited in
the game of last night.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
South Carolina seventy nine, Louisville seventy seven. And you're correct,
Coach Brown got a great look at that last shot
for the three that just young lady happened to miss.
But Don Staley's team, I mean, execute it miss even
their best player still execute a great game. Two. I had, George,
great game. No, I'm absolutely great games. So Louisville better
(05:51):
than I thought they would. George. They really competed, They
really did.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
And they came back. James, they came back.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Oh, absolutely, South Carolin couldn't put them way. I thought
at about the three minute mark louis was gonna win
the game, George. They just couldn't.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Jerry. Everybody thought what you.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Thought, mm hmm, other than South Carolina, But it never Jr.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
It never broke, They never argued, they never discussed it.
They just went to coach and then they talk among
each other about what they were gonna do. You know
what I mean. I mean, it was just exciting to
see that kind of basketball day, Jarry. It was just fantastic.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Yep. Men can learn a lot from excellent women's basketball,
that is for sure.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
So it was a great I told it one more time.
This young lady, miss Party to play for Louisville. Came
off the bench, Jerry. They've been waiting for it to
come around, Jerry. She played a magnificent game. Does not
have started but for one game, and it's the number
three team in the country. To get your start, Jerry,
and the player outstanding game that that says a lot.
They're coming Jerry. I didn't think my man had a bench,
(06:54):
but this team is coming around.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
You're good good, I know, George. I know that you
go to the game, so my wife usually goes. But
I watched it last night, George, and it was an
excellent game. Nick and Tuck. I thought that line went
up six and a half. I thought they were gonna
stretch it out. Georgia in the third quarter from No serve.
I mean they had to. That game went to the wire,
like you said, went to the last shot. Georgie Louisville
(07:18):
got the last shot. Three A open look, yes, a
perfect look, yes, a perfect yes. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
If one of your great fans was that at the
game to show you how big the game was, and
we talk about the greatest of all time, Miscellaney, Ali
was at the game last night. They show you how.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Bigger game it was. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Yes, my neighbor.
People don't know, George, my neighbor, George. Every people do
not know.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
I know you were a fan. I didn't know about that.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
I know all that. Yes, right behind my eyes, behind
I carry I know George. It just happens to be George.
I know the family. I've run in the house before,
George out of my aunt's house into Ali's house. That's
just the truth, George. God's out his truth. And people
don't talk at Basking were talking about the greatest of
all time. And and ellis from.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Loving Central High School on Grand Avenue. Though you didn't
live on Grand Avenue, James, the graves of our town
lived on Avenue. Miss Lanney lived on your neighborhood.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Welcome back Daves Sports Radio. George, quick kicking us off.
I mean, I'm I'm trying to be doing that quick
kicking us.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
I'm sloy. I'm sorry. Well, you were going to take
you time about like you really knew who he was.
I got a little upset. I just took him out
there all together. Okay, don't do that.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
I know his wife really well, George, that's all. I
know the camp.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
I know the camp really well. I know the champ
really well. Okay, we got our from really well.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Is that what we all did? Well. I didn't know
him personally well.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
But that's a little different from me, right, that's little different.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
That's a little different. I'm met him, but I didn't
in personally. Let's bring Sleepless to the show. Sleepless Sports Radio.
He's your man, he's not your man.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Good morning, good morning, good morning. I h I had
to call in, George. I've been I've been poking with
mister Eaves all week. You notice when he stopped cheering
for Dallas.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
What happened?
Speaker 3 (09:23):
They won? They wont they started winning.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
I'm telling you, George, the man is curnised.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Jerry.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Who you got? Ohio?
Speaker 4 (09:31):
State or are you who.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
You got you? Okay?
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, then I picked the
right team.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
I picked the house State's.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Over poor thing. They probably won't score with three points.
You watch you watch it, poor thing.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
You know what?
Speaker 4 (09:57):
I probably should have asked, which team did your wife
go for? Because she's the one that picks them, right,
That's that's why I should have asked. But I just
wanted to say I've been I've been watching those those women,
the ladies basketball for UML for a few few years now.
And last night's game, Man, that that was a really
really good game. I mean fundamentals, teamwork, you know, the passing,
(10:21):
the the movement for both teams. I mean that was
a chess match and you just had no idea who
was gonna win it. That was a That was a
great game. I wish I could have made it there.
That would have been a nice game to see in person.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Man, that arena was rocking. I've never seen it rock
like that before. Sleepless, I mean it was rocky.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
George Sleepless. Now, George, this is the truth, Sleepless, you're
a similar fan talking about LITIAL women basketball. That's how
bad your program is just so you understand, sir.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
All I know is Florida State beat Alabama. So if
Alabama losers, they're out of it. They shouldn't be in it.
I don't know how we've did it. I don't agree
did it.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
I don't agree with you that season. No, no, let
me okay, let me explain some George.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
He said, get us to Georgia that first time they
kicked Georgia and that was crazy, lost and out. So
I'm a little biased there.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
This is how it should go, George. I want you
to listen and I want you all to give me
your opinion. Conference championship ship mean something or no one
would play in them. So you cannot disqualified team because
they lose a third game because they played in the
conference championship game. That's first. Second thing. Teams that are
sitting at home have nothing to prove. They're glad they're
(11:45):
sitting at home. We can't get bumped out. We don't
have to play. Here's what they should do. There should
be the conference championship games. Got me other than if
it is a true Virginia Duke scenario, because I can't
help the a SEC. It's not my fault. It's not
they shouldn't be in. Miami's the only team that has
a chance, and that's a slim chance. But you should
(12:06):
have six teams in from the conference. Big ten SEC
got me Big twelve. If the ACC was decent, that
would be eight teams eight if they were decent. But
they're not. They're just facts. Yes, Lous will destroy Kentucky
the bottom end, but the upper end of the ACC
is just not competitive. So eighty two. But the teams
(12:32):
that are city that are sitting six, seven, eight nine
that aren't playing, or seven eight nine ten that aren't playing,
they should have to play each other. They should have
an extra game also so that they have a chance
to get a third loss. You can't let teams that
are sitting behind Alabama say, hey, we only got two
wins losses, we should get in when they don't play
Georgia on Saturday. Guys, you just can't do that. The committees. Now,
(12:56):
George is correct, we went from four teams twelve will
be enough. We need to let them all in. But
the way they have it set up now, conference championship
games must mean something and it cannot damage the two
teams that got in. Where people that are seated behind
them in their conference. I don't care what the rankings say.
(13:17):
You must go with the conference, how they rate their games.
Who is one and who is two, that's what you
must go by, not by this dumb committee that does anything.
That's why Notre Dame's in. Notre Dames should not be in.
They did not play their way in period. Guys. My
opinion is everybody should have to play another game. Conference
championship teams should get in when the league is competitive,
(13:40):
and then we go from there. What's your opinion on that, George.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Well, Ja, I kind of agree with what you say,
but I'm not for the conference championship, Jared. I'm for
the teams who have the best records in the conference.
So you don't eliminate yourself. Like, look at all the
good games are gonna be played this weekend, Jared. That
could really is that who will win should go in.
I think that the best team should go in, Joe,
(14:05):
and that they should play theirself. Like you, look, who
is Miami playing this week? Not Miami's out.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
They're not idea, They're not exactly, they're not playing. Notre
Dame is not playing.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
Well.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
Now here's a Samario Also here's a scenario also that
you gotta remember. Because those big conferences were greedy and
they wanted to scoop up all the best teams. That
is the pip that they got to swallow. You wanted
everybody in your conference, big ten SEC. You wanted all
the top teams. You wanted all that television revenue, you
(14:36):
wanted all alls on you. Well, all your teams can't
get in wan get over it now. If you want
it back the way it was, we need to make
those other conferences PAC twelve and spread those teams back
out and then it would be more, you know, be
more spread out where more teams from different conferences would
have to play in their championship. But the greed took over,
(14:58):
and now the greed is going to cost them. And
that's why I feel the way I feel.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Okay, now, George, I hear you. I'm not but but
we're not talking about Arkansas, South Carolina, Mississippi, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky,
LSU two. We're not talking about that. We're talking about
that upper echelon the bottom aren't getting in sleepless. The
top are the ones that are getting cut out, not
the bottom, dwellers. I'm sorry, that's that's all. Understand that
(15:27):
gas in there, but we're only talking about that. We're
talking about Alabama seven and one, Georgia seven and one,
Ole Miss seven and one, Texas A and M seven
and one, Texas six and two.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Rights the price they got to pay. They wanted all that,
they wanted, all those powerful teams. And so unless we're
just going to have a big, big big ten, which
is actually twenty teams, I don't know how they do
the math up there, but the Big ten and the
sec that's it.
Speaker 7 (15:58):
Might have teams are for team teams.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
So if you're wimin, you know, if you go that
route for nobody else is in.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
George, what do you think, George, if that could happen,
we don't want that. They could do that.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
That's what they wanted, they want it, That's what.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
What do you think, George?
Speaker 3 (16:15):
I think I think the top teams Jered, like you said,
who you said, Alabama Georgia plays this week, right, I
think that they should go in and the winner of
that game knows that the winner of that game will
be included into the championships, into the pool of teams
that's going to play in the playoffs. I think that's
how they should do it. I think that the teams
(16:35):
could do it themselves. Jeredway the conference of this, you
know when you go in where you're staying, if you
lose one more game, you out. And I think if
you look around the country, Jed, that's how they should
do it, you know what I mean. And the best
teams will be playing it. So like are you last year?
How you would have played the last game and it
would decide. And that's how you got to do it, Jae.
You got to let the best teams play each other,
(16:55):
like the George, just play each other and then you'll decided.
You look at the content, you look at the game.
But coming up this week they were almost as bad.
Who could be conference champions?
Speaker 1 (17:04):
And again jump and we've got we've got the Atlanta
Airport right now, George. But before I bring on Brandon,
I want people to understand this. George sleepless when we're
talking about large conference stummers. Okay, I hear somebody needs
(17:26):
to turn off, turn your turn your radio down.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Who is that?
Speaker 8 (17:30):
Rick?
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Who did you bring on? Rick? Somebody needs to turn
their radio down? Rick? I think that's sleepless day. I
think that sleeps cut him off, cut him off. Yes,
there you go, thank you, Rick. Guys, here's the problem.
You have Alabama and Georgia one and two in the SEC.
They should be in the Big Ten. You have Oil
(17:54):
State in Indiana that now they are ranked one into
in the country, but they haven't played a quality the
schedule either team. I'm sorry. Yes, the Big Ten's won
it the last two years. I'm not knocking that they
shouldn't be in. I'm just telling you both teams are in.
They're playing in the conference championship. But that's not the truth.
For the SEC, they're saying that if Alabama loses in
(18:15):
the conference championship game, they could be knocked out of
college football playoffs. That's ludicrous. That is Mike Tyson. That's madness.
That just can't happen. George, they played their way in
to the conference championship, which means they're the first or
second best team in their league. They should automatically be in.
That's all I'm saying. The bottom dwellers, I hears sleepless
(18:38):
when he threw out Arkansas, they got twenty teams. We're
not talking about Arkansas and South Carolina, Mississippi State, Big Ten, George,
we're not talking about the bottom dwellers at the Big BEGINN.
We're not talking about burnew In Maryland and Michigan State, Wisconsin,
Rutgers ten State, UCLA Northwestern, We're not talking about that.
I don't care if they have forty teams in their league.
The bottom line is that the SEC's level of competitian
(19:01):
is the toughest in the country by far. You can
tell it by the rankings, and there's no way the
second place seem should get bumped. Let's bring on another call.
Bring Brandon to the show. Brandon, work to these words.
Good morning, Live moaning Brandon, how.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Are you doing? Good Man?
Speaker 9 (19:20):
About you guys?
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Good? What do you think about the conversation before we
get your scores?
Speaker 9 (19:26):
Yeah, I mean I kind of agree with sleeplessir. I mean,
you know, SEC, you can't have it all like you
can't the playoff shouldn't be an SEC championship bracket, like
it shouldn't be eight teams from the SEC or what's
the having all these different conferences.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Shoul best teams.
Speaker 9 (19:48):
But if you're beating up on each other, if you're
beating up on each other. How does anybody else get
a shot?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
George?
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Okay, George, I mean if you on college basketball, Jerry,
you that's teams that win the conferences go undefeated, losing
a turn. I watched a team last year year and
win the conference championship sixteen to oer on the team
that didn't go. I think they're only allowed one game
and they didn't get to represent their conference. I mean, true,
you know it's it's just almost the same scenario. You
(20:19):
know what I mean. I mean, if you're gonna count
the conference champion, you got to count the conference champion
and everything. But we don't count the conference champion and everything.
So why should we got to count? In football?
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Okay, So George and Brandon, here we go. Because they
continued wanting to entertain people, Bobby and I used to say,
I played the regular season. Why am I playing a
conference championship game? Bobby and I agree? Why am I
playing the confence championship game? When I won the conference?
That's again, agree, because the greed kicked in, That's all
(20:50):
I'm saying, guys. So when the greed kicks in, you
still can't I mean what I just guys, it's very
hard for me.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
Not the only thing I'm asking, though, jaf let me
if I cut you off. The only thing I'm an
You said that the conference championships have mean something earlier, Well,
it doesn't mean anything in college basketball sometimes, especially for
a small school, it had fantastic records, could absolute and
they put the worst team in.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
And George, they're trying to take it from sixty eight
seventy two. Sue, everybody will be in judge. But see
that it used to be in the old days. There's
thirty two teams, as.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
You will know, con and I think that's just more
and more. Okay, let's get you.
Speaker 9 (21:35):
I agree with you on that, Jerry. I think that's
always been crazy that a team could go undefeated in
the regular season their conference, win it, but because they
had a bad game and got knocked out of their
conference tournament. It's like that regular season didn't mean.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
It never counted.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
It never count I mean in basketball, it never counted.
Yeah it is. So let's get your sports. I you
ohiose State Saturday in Indy eight pm.
Speaker 9 (22:02):
Let's go i U and let's go thirty four to
twenty seven.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Okay, you know, Jack, I'm taking down j picks. I'm
taking down to Late Jersey.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
Can't take you back to.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
I want that smoke.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Okay, let's go Texas Tech, Georgia, Alabama.
Speaker 8 (22:34):
Let's go Bama.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Bama plays their way in.
Speaker 9 (22:37):
Yeah, Duke, Virginia, let's go Virginia. I don't think nta
A wants that mess on their hands. I think Virginia
wins this one.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Okay, Northern Texas tu Lane.
Speaker 6 (22:51):
Let's go with North Texas.
Speaker 9 (22:53):
I think Twu Lane's gonna be checked out.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
A lot of people, have you know lately, have gone
with that North I know team about North Texas. I'm
just after I can't say a word about them, so
I have not watched them, not one play. I've got
you down, Brandon. I got to get the break. Appreciate
your call in brother, you too, and I took the
oven thirty three, George, We're gonna go to break.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
When we come back.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
We got Johnny waiting Eve Sports Radio for numbers five zero, two,
five seven, one, seventy nine hundred. I want your opinion
on these playoffs after the break. Welcome back to eve
Sworts Radio, and thank you all for listening to Eve
Sports Radio. There are a lot of things you could
listen to this morning and you're listening to Georgia and
myself and all our callers. Now Johnny is next up,
(23:41):
then Ron and Joe. I'm gonna get everyone in. George again, Yes,
hit it quick and.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
I got thankfully, and I like that, and I like
you and I like that. Think how many times they
have changed its football to get it right, and never
has it been like that. I don't care how you
change it, how do you fix it? There's always somebody
has a great ripe on how it's gone. We see
that now.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
We thought twelve teams would fix it. It has not.
That's all there is but George I and I'm gonna
go to Johnny. But I never, in my wildest dreams
would say the second best team in the SEC, who
is playing in the SEC Championship game would not make
the top twelve. That's all I'm saying, George.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
That the guy got me, George. I'm the guy. When
I first started the show, I started putting the a
SEC when Watson, Jamison and Lamar were playing, and I
had SEC fans coming to me, slow my row. That
was me. I want people to know I have not
been No, yes, I have not. Oh, acc I'm that guy.
(24:56):
But right now, George, the Big ten is top heavy.
The ruler rooms he won the last team and the
SEC is loaded one to eight. They're loaded. Oh there's
to it. I think Texas should be in my personal opinion,
they played the strongest schedule. But let's get to our calls. Johnny,
welcome to the show. How are you? Hey?
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Yeah? Standing?
Speaker 6 (25:18):
Jared did to talk to you.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
That's good, it is, Yes, do you hear?
Speaker 6 (25:26):
Yeah? Yeah, I'm at the golf course in the bunkers.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
Why are you bringing right? Come out about that, Johnny, Johnny,
why are you prying.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Florida?
Speaker 6 (25:38):
Yeah, we got a we got a pro turnament end
of this weekend. So I'm doing the buckers like I
was looking all fucking fresh. But guys got a question
to worry about.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Mohammad, make it quick, all right. Uh.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
I used to work for the Prestol and we had
a restaurant in downtown next to the Muhammad Ali Center,
and mohamm and his family would always come in. He
always wanted one guy to.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Wait on him.
Speaker 6 (26:03):
His name was Rob, and Uh his layla would tell Rob,
if you want to get Mohamma's attention. Just say Joe
Fraser said, he'll wake up for a minute or two
and you can carry.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
A conversation with him.
Speaker 10 (26:16):
And so Rob would always say Joe, shake his hand
and say Joe Fraser, and Muhammad would wake up, his
eyes would light up, and they would have a few
minute conversation and then he would go back to his normal state.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 6 (26:30):
No, great story.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Ohio state, Indiana, I believe, Ohill state Indiana. What's the story?
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Uh Alri gave you us?
Speaker 6 (26:39):
Course?
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Oh you did?
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Oh did great? Good?
Speaker 3 (26:43):
Well?
Speaker 1 (26:43):
Great, appreciate it. Then, No, I appreciate that story about
Muhammad Ali. Okay, great, I appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Guy. Bring you got it? They ring you and dead.
I know what you're talking about.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
Right on, guys, have a good morning of a great.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Later, let's go to Ryn Ryan. Welcome to the show.
How are you hey?
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Good morning?
Speaker 5 (27:07):
What's up?
Speaker 1 (27:07):
George? Hey?
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Ron? How you doing?
Speaker 1 (27:09):
My friend?
Speaker 3 (27:10):
All with a pleasure?
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Yes, yes, so, Jay, I thought the job of this
committee was to put the twelve best teams in.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
That's what I thought. That's what I thought.
Speaker 5 (27:25):
Well, you know, I'm here, I'm here all this, That's
what I thought. The hate is real, isn't it when
it comes to certain conferences.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
You know, the people doing all the yelling and screaming.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
I don't know what to tell you.
Speaker 5 (27:41):
When you've got a conference championship game, when you've got
Virginia playing seven and five Duke and they got to
cover thirty thousand seats for the optics of it, that
tells you all you need to know about a certain conference,
doesn't it.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
It does at this time, but it does.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
So you know, stop wanting if you if you can't
beat Boston College and North Carolina and teams like that, what.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
Are you wanted about?
Speaker 5 (28:11):
I mean, if Duke wins that game, just want to
make that conference laughing stock of the country. It'd be
the laughing stock.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Doesn't get in right, if win, there will not be
an a I'm telling you all that right now.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
I mean hate nor A conference because they've got more
good teams than you. I I don't understand the philosophy
behind that. I mean, yes, they're all chasing money, I
get that, but uh, the whole ideas put the twelve
best teams in not not to make you know, well,
we'll have so many for this conference and so many
from that one and so many from that one that
(28:48):
that doesn't make for last year they forced in s
m U and how that work out.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
So they went, I just can't believe we're here. I
can't believe we're here with twelve teams and we're gonna
say that a team playing in the SEC championship.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Game and I get in.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
I just can't believe we're here.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Now, why would you want to go to the championship game?
If the if the committee is going to hold it again,
why why should Texas go play old House, say the
first game of the season. You know that obviously the yes, yes,
it makes no sense, the whole idea, like I said,
(29:31):
and it doesn't take it doesn't take rocket science to
figure out who the twelve best teams are. And if
you will know who where the best teams are, the
best players are, just pay attention on Sunday where all
those players are from in the NFL. That'll tell you
all you need to know right there.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
And here's what they need to do instead of making
these huge conferences. I appreciate it, right, George, here's the deal,
and I'm coming right to you next year. And I
got Sheela next Here's the deal, guys, instead of saying
we're we can only play conference games. Are not playing
out a conference. They shouldn't make leagues play cross conference games. George,
(30:07):
you understand me, then we can have true evaluation. But
when you say we're gonna add we're just gonna have
conference team play conference teams. But Georgia, this is what happens,
at least in college basketball. I could at North Carolina
and t play Louisville, which I did. I played everybody
but Kentucky. I played Tennessee. I played Ohio State when
they had craft, when they were a number one team
in the country. Georgia, I had opportunity. I beat the ball.
(30:29):
I'll bet SMU when they were raped, I'll be Arizona State.
Georgia have a chance. But in football you'll have the
little bitty boys. But we need to have the Louisvils
play the Ohio States, the Ohio State play Texas. We
need to have Alabama truly play Penn State. We need
to have Alabama again play Indiana cross matches from year
(30:50):
to year, the better teams, so they play each other
so we can have a better evaluation. That's all. But
I just can't all issue is there's no way the
second place team in the SEC that's playing in the
SEC championship game they have to get in. I'm sorry,
That's all I'm saying, Joe, Welcome to the sports radio,
and then I'm coming to Sheela, my wife after that.
(31:11):
How are you joke? Good morning?
Speaker 11 (31:13):
Hey, hey Jerry, it's pleasure to follow TJ.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Rown there.
Speaker 11 (31:18):
Anyway, Hey, yees yo, No George talk about Thomas Jefferson.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
You talk about Thomas, Hey, Joe, that's a great Thomas
and senat If there was no TJ. George, Seneca would
have won everything every year. If I read that, I
don't care about yeah. Oh my godhead Hey j real
quickly one comment.
Speaker 11 (31:43):
You know that Louisville Arkansas game is a great game,
and it looked like to me all the fifteen victories
Kentucky head against Louisville that it looked like the.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Same type of game.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Arkansas has got better basketball.
Speaker 11 (31:55):
Athletes than Louisville does, all all but the point guard,
but the point guard was Basically it was neutral because
both of them McDonald's all Americans. Both of them are great,
and Arkansas being at home made a lot of difference.
But Anyway, I think our twelves little bit better than
we give people think.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Absolutely, I agree. I agree with you. They're good, are
good coach a good job, no question.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Yes he does.
Speaker 11 (32:20):
Anyway, Hey, the scores in Indiana go back and forth.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
I I can get Indiana.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Thirty five to twenty seven. Okay, gotcha, Indiana thirty five,
Oil State twenty seven. Correct. We're trying to get these correct. Okay,
b Yu Texas, tex Texas six, Georgia Alabama. It's a
(32:48):
tough one, isn't it. Uh, I'm gonta, Oh my gosh.
It's probably Alabama needs it more than Georgia does. So
I think Alabama twenty four the twenty one. Okay, I
don't need to score. But again, that means Alabama would
beat Georgia twice. George, Alabama is the only team to
beat Georgia, and so everyone understands the only team Duke
(33:11):
and Virginia. Come on, man, be my conference alone.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
I'm just I don't know, like Ryan, No, it's it's
it's uh, I'll go with Duke. Come on, I'm gonna
go with the side Duke five.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Oh my North of Texas to Lane. I mean, George
is just that band Duke is playing in the conference championship.
I'm sorry, and it is what I think George knows.
Virginia's run out of steam. They run out of steam.
They're they're on there.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
They look like they magicians. I mean, if you watched them,
look like they magicians. I mean every game it's over,
at the last second, they win the game. I've never
seen like that.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
North Texas Tulane. I gotta get the break, Delane, North
Texas Lane to Lane. I got you down, Joe, appreciate
your brother, Jed. We're Jerry going to comment for you.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
What's your thoughts on will Stein? Yeah, I didn't listen.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
To the program yesterday. Will Stein. I like will Stein.
I think he's a good higher I think that he
will have changed the offensive mindset of the University of Kentucky.
The question is he's got Cuter Bowley, who is pretty good.
Will he be able to get that top flight quarterback
that he's had at all his schools. He's had a
top flight quarterback. So the key is recruiting guys. Recruiting
(34:40):
is the key. I think he knows. I think he'll
do an excellent job, but he must get a top
flight quarterback. That's all, guys, it's seven forty seven. Joe,
I gotta go. It's E Sports Radio. We'll talk to
you after the break. Welcome back to East Sports Radio. Guys.
We're packed. Let's go straight to Sheila to get her scores. Sheilla,
(35:01):

I'll check that after the show.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
B Y, that's love, Sheila.
Speaker 7 (35:50):
I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go with Texas, tex
I know.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
You are your state. Georgia, Alabama, Oh, tetlin Ah, Georgia. Okay,
Duke Virginia. Oh, I'm gonna go with Duke upset City
in accit. That'll that'll be tomsy Derby. If Duke wins,
(36:16):
a CC will not get a team in North Texas. Tulane,
I'll go in North Texas. Okay, Dallas, I got you,
Thank you, baby. I gotta get you next, the one

scores and talk to Georgia and I George. I like AC,
but he just doesn't learn.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
I just do. He's my man.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
Let's he doesn't learn. I know, but he doesn't learn.
Let's go to Bubba Bubba Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Bubba, Hey, Hey, how you doing?
Speaker 1 (37:35):
George?
Speaker 3 (37:36):
Fantastic, Bubba. Now you made the show. Well, hey, I
was just checking.
Speaker 8 (37:42):

Speaker 8 (38:00):
Started in nineteen sixty eight against Seneca.
Speaker 5 (38:05):
Okay, and it's and and and then.
Speaker 8 (38:09):
Since nineteen sixty eight, Trinity has been in the state
championship game at least once every four years. And during
those times, during that time, they got beat one year
and were runner up in the state. But thirty and
let me here's another album.
Speaker 1 (38:26):

Speaker 3 (38:35):
Uh two?
Speaker 1 (38:37):
Who did you play?
Speaker 3 (38:38):
Bubba?
Speaker 1 (38:39):
You played teams just like yourself in Ohio and got beat.
You played teams like yourself. You have an advantage, bubb them.
You beat my brother in sixty eight. I'm still mad
about it. He beats Senneca. My brother played George. I'm
still mad about that you haven't advantage, Bubba.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
It's all I'm.
Speaker 8 (38:54):
Saying, Well, teams of Jeffsey, some of the teams in
Jeffy County won't play us, and there's no sension going
paying weaker teams just to play them, because it does
nobody either.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
I wouldn't either. I would make you and Bubba, North
Carolina private schools play private schools for the tournament championship.
Our public schools. They know there's an advantage, Bubble. I'm
just being honest with you. I hate to do this, Bubba,
but it's the truth.
Speaker 8 (39:19):
Well, you gotta play with It's kind of like going
to a dance you dance or who brung you? You know, Okay,
you got to play people. You gotta play people.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
When you played your level in Ohio, you got to beat.
When you play private schools in Ohio, you lost both games.
Speaker 8 (39:38):
They beat Carmel and then you beat You lost the
Motive by three, and then you lost the other one
by three.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
So I got no, that's your level, Okay, that's your level.
Speaker 8 (39:48):
Okay, But we're in the state of Kentucky and it's
been that way and in that way forever.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
They don't build forever if they build Thomas, if they
don't build Thomas, Jeffs George and I got TJ's athletes
and Seneca's athletes with Kerry. Who is that game? Truthfully?
Bubba oh I back.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
In the day, Yeah, back in the day.
Speaker 8 (40:09):
Well, I'll tell you what if.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
We Hey, we only won by seven instead.
Speaker 8 (40:14):
Of what fourteen?
Speaker 3 (40:16):
You know, it's been a little bit closer.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
Congratulations to Trinity though, I love the kids. Hey, then
when we got Trinity South Warren Owinnsboro, Pulaski County, Boyle,
Franklin County, Cayl Murray, uh Lesion and Christian On through
Catholic and racing the Kentucky Country day, we'll talk about
the winners and your money.
Speaker 8 (40:38):
And I know it's I know it's killing you having
all these training guys running these programs around here. Triny's
gonna win your thirty state championship. You got the head
coach at Louisville and the head coach Kentucky, both quarterbacks
from Trinity.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
That hurts you.
Speaker 8 (40:50):
You don't sleep for you don't sleep for the damn right.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
You're right.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
I love your mother talking to Monday. Good luck Trinity.
Ease was Radio work,
