Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to the sports radio. Yes, it is seven
oh six. It is December the eighteenth, twenty twenty five.
It's Thursday. If you didn't know, it is one week
from Christmas. If you did not know. And when I
was about eight years old, I couldn't stand it. It
was the longest week of my life waiting for Christmas.
(00:21):
I don't know about you all, but it was like
will it ever get here? When you're old? It comes
so fast and leaves so quickly, it's unbelievable. So now
I know both ends of the spectrum. That's all I
can say. But anyway, welcome back to the show. The
phone number is five zero two seventy nine hundred. That's
(00:42):
five zero two, five seventy nine hundred. Sports Talk seven
ninety are supposed to be Sports Talk, could be Christmas Talk.
Sports Talk seven ninety. I've got Shennon behind the glass
like always and no cast today, flying by myself, so
we all know this is a busy day. We must
(01:02):
get in our contest scores. We must get those in today,
So call immediately, try to get your scores in. At
seven fifteen to about seven twenty five, I have Jason
Franks from the Curia Journal. We're going to talk about
the King of the Bluegrass and some of the better
players in the Louisville area for you all to go
out and watch and enjoy watching some of the young
(01:24):
players play. I want to talk about that and some
of the better teams. Coach Client's team and he's got
a lot of really good talents, So we're gonna talk
a little bit about that. At seven point forty, we've
got the only one and only Lee Stirly Paramount Sports.
He'll give you all the predictions A lot of you
guys wait for when you're trying to predict my games,
(01:47):
you all wait for Lee. Great appreciate that you all
are waiting for Lee's predictions. I understand. But we've got
a few people that stick out there on their own.
So we've got our first call and before I get
into every and we're gonna go to it. At this time,
he has no one else to knock me. It's just
(02:07):
one on one Blanding and I. Blanding, welcome to the show.
Nobody to help you today, Blanded, does you and I?
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Good morning, Good morning Shannon, and good morning George. I
hope you're having a good morning. This morning, I.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Hurt your wife laughing. I hurt Mary, says you, and.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
I, oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's Jerry. It's not George.
I'm sorry about that.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Jarry.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Good morning, Jerry, Good morning to blending. That's okay.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
How are you, sir?
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Every day is a good day when you're my age.
Every day, that's all.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
You know it must be awful when you got to
get up in the morning and change the ever ready
batteries and that calculator to add up all your bank accounts.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Mmm mm okay, I have no problem with it. I
do look at my bank accounts every morning, but I
don't need an ever Ready battery to do it. My
computer's fine.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
I understand that there's so many of them to check it.
Where's your batteries out?
Speaker 1 (03:06):
I don't know about that, but I'm not hungry. I
picked up pennies when I was young. Tell everyone, don't
walk by them, pick them up. But you know a
lot of people that's below them. I pick up a penny,
you'll handle a dollar. That's all I can tell people.
It's not hard. This masters hard.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
The only thing I'd like to ask you, mister Eves,
on this beautiful show you have every day, is that
you please remember your staff that keeps your compound so
nice out here that it's Christmas.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
The problem with it, it is Christmas time. I've got
no problem.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
With it all. They all, all the great people that
make that compound blame Jerry every day. I hope that
you remember them and and don't give them Arbi's coupons
this year. Buy them a real gift for Christmas.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
That would be nice.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
I'm gonna do that because I'm telling you my staff
they look like me. I don't know what the problem.
Miss I got to ask them if we're relatives.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Well, they all probably they all now probably have a
roll bomb with a big jay on in front of
it that you bought them five or six years ago.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Okay, Okay, well whatever you say we can deal with.
Let's get to these scores, because you know you are crazy,
without a doubt, you know you've lost it. So Blandon,
We've got some big games this weekend, a lot of
big guys. Alabama Oklahoma is the key, all.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Right, Oklahoma, Jerry, I'm gonna pick the Oklahoma singers thirteen
to nine.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Okay, you're the only one, you know it's interesting. Let
me tell you the leader Martin called in his scores
just it, and I told him I'm calling out everybody's scores.
Martin had an interesting score. He had eighteen twelve Alabama.
So you've got thirteen to nine Oklahoma. Is that correct?
Speaker 3 (04:56):
I want to make sure I write this eff I got.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
You, Okay, Yeah, I have no idea that is. This
game has gone both ways in my contest. I've got Bama,
I've got Oklahoma. Oklahoma's at home, so I guess I
would lean that way, but you just never know. Miami
at Texas A and M that's another game that could
be an upset. Most people have gone Texas A and M.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Though.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Yeah, I'm gonna take Texas A and MJ Jared.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Okay, all right, to Lane ole Miss.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
I like ole Miss Jarry, but I'm telling you it
won't surprise me if Tulane plays him pretty tough.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Really Okay, Well, without Lane Kiffin, we'll have to see.
There's so much turmoil with Ole Miss. We'll just have
to wait and see how the kids can handle it.
But I think I do think the kids will be ready.
The offensive coordinator is there, the plays will be called properly.
I'm still leaning o, miss, but you're right. Anything could happen,
even though we'll just have to see James Madison at
(05:57):
Oregon Oregon Ducks. Jerry, gotcha. Yep, that's a round.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
The Packers at the Bears.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Have you heard? Have you heard the Bears may be moving?
There's football stadium out of Illinois, maybe Indiana that have
you heard that? I'm like, no Way, not Midway, I mean,
not the Bears, not Soldier Field. And I've run by
it a million times. I'm telling you, I can't believe
(06:32):
that it's I read that and said, oh my goodness,
last for me. So is Mary ready? She is?
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Jerry, I just want to let you know, buddy. I
know it's I know it's the East Sports Radio Christmas
Party this weekend, but just remember no no day old
donuts for your staff this year. Get them something nice please,
And here's Mary.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Have a good day, sir, Thank you, Blady.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
He's just mad because of all the things I used
to do to him at Ballot High School when he
was playing basketball. That's all Mary. He still is mad
about it.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
I did him dirty, Mary, That's all, that's all I did.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Somebody, So Mary, let's go with it. Alabama Oklahoma is
the game.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Okay, I have Oklahoma fourteen Alabama Chen.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Okay, one has that score. Mary, Miami at Texas, A and.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
M I have Texas and m Okay.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
You've got Tulane at Ole Miss, Oh Miss. You've got
James Madison at Oregon Oregon, and you've got the Packers
at the Bears.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
I'm going with the Bears.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Gosh, almost everyone's taking the Bears. What a turnaround their season.
Caleb Glenn's played great. I know the Packers have left
Michael Parsons, we understand that to an ac airtail tear.
But I like the Packers being honest with you in
their backs against the wall. So we'll have to see.
But Mary, I've got you, and I appreciate you listening.
(08:20):
And take care of your husband. Please, something's wrong with that.
Man's very very hard to do.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
Well.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
So you all have a great holiday season.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
We will you too, Mary, take.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Care of Bye bye bye.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
So I want everyone to understand I'm glad Mary brought
that up. Let's go through the schedule because we've got games.
We know every weekend, we've got contest. We have money
on the line, so I'm going to be on again Monday, Tuesday,
and Wednesday and Wednesday of next week Christmas Eve. I'm
going to do three days so that we have a
(08:58):
chance to get our school got me three days. Then
of course I'm off Christmas. I'm off the day after
the twenty sixth, and then I'll be back that Monday.
So that's next week. I'm going to do the same
thing the following week with New Year's Eve. I'm going
to do Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I could change my mind,
(09:21):
I'm old, but that's what I'm planning on doing. So
I just want everyone to understand next week, you'll have
three days to get your scores in. Of course you
can fox me, text me. We understand that, but I
like to speaking with you also. So I have three
days to get our scores in next week, and of
course we're one week away now. I will be on tomorrow,
(09:42):
George and I will be on and we will be
taking all your scores again tomorrow. So that is the schedule.
The next two week schedule. It will be Monday, Tuesday
and Wednesday, Christmas Week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of New
Year's week, so it's seven sixteen, Shenon, Let's take us
a break when we come back half. Jason Frank's on
the line, talk you in a minute, my game. Sports
(10:04):
guys at seven nineteen were not the only one, the
only person that covers high school sports the correct way
works for the Courier Journal, and I, of course take
the paper. Jason Franks is on the line with us. Jason,
appreciate you getting up early for me.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (10:19):
I'm doing well, Jay, Good morning.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Good morning to you. Well. Big day today, we all know,
King of the Bluegrass, Big day, a lot of huge games.
I just kind of want to throw it to you.
Of course, I want people to know Warren Central San
Xavier seven point thirty, big game, I think, my opinion.
Trinity and Madison Central is another big game. My opinion,
there are a lot of good games going on tomorrow.
(10:43):
You've got some Leaves from Huntsville, Alabama against Comting Catholics,
so I like it. Greenville from Tennessee against Mail. Tell me,
what do you think is going to transpire? What do
the people have to come out and watch? What's the
exciting players? Who are the exciting players they need to
be looking out for?
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (11:03):
You you went over obviously. You know, San Xavier ring
number one in the state. They're they're defending King of
the Bluegrass UH champion. You know that guy probably the
best sophomore in the state in Josh Lindsay, who's got
some some multiple offers. He's a he's a big time athlete,
you know, you know he's he's only six foot, but
(11:25):
he's he he has some He's made some incredible dunks
over his career. Just an extremely athletic, gifted athlete. For
me personally, the team I'm really looking forward to seeing
is Madison Central. They're they're five and oh. They played
Trinity tonight at six o'clock. Like I said, they're five
(11:46):
and oh and they're just destroying people right now. They're
led by Jake Feldhouse, who's playing for his uncle Allen
Feldhouse at Madison Central. Jake is Darren's son. Darren Veld
also play the UK. Jake is a six to eight kid,
a top candidate from mister Basketball. He signed with Belmont
(12:11):
down in Tennessee. And you know, we've gotten used to
kind of the same teams the last few years, you know,
being really good state championship contenders, and in my opinion.
So far, Madison Central is sort of that. I mean,
Madison Central has had success in the past, but for me,
there's sort of that newcomer this year that I'm excited
(12:34):
to see.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Well, you've got Jake ranked the second best player on
your list in the state. You had Josh Lindsay the
seventh best. But you've got really Jake, really ray highly
sixth eighth going to Bill Mine. I think that's a
perfect fit for that young man, a perfect fit for
his style of play. But yes, I'm looking forward to
seeing him play. I'm going to try to get out tomorrow.
I don't know. I don't think I'm going to get
(12:56):
out today, but I want to get out tomorrow and
watch them play. But tell me a little bit more
about what do you think? Yeah, you coach Klein and
he's got Jackson back. I mean, he's got a really
good nu Kulus. He's an excellent coach. I mean he
really is. I hate it because they're the dark side.
(13:17):
Coach Klyin knows it. He's my man, though. He does
a tremendous job with his team, no nonsense, suret tails In, guys.
I think the little things matter, and so many people
have forgotten. I just think the little things matter, and
when it comes to winning, the details do matter. Devil's
in the details and he tries to stay there. Surprised me.
They didn't get the championship last year. Do they get
(13:38):
it done this year.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
It's just such a different team this year. And I'm
not saying they can't get it done, but people forget
they lost three guys who are now playing in college
off that roster last year. They're still deep. They got
in a really nice transfer in from Holy Cross, a
sophomore last named Jackson, who gives them a different sort
of dynamic. I'm not sure they're as deep as they
(14:03):
were last year. You know they're they're gonna develop some
depth and they're gonna be able to play a lot
of guys. But I just don't know that the that
they have the same level of talent that they had
last year, that that doesn't mean they can't win it.
I think last year we knew one of two teams
is gonna win the state championship. It was either gonna
be a scene X or Great Crossing, and Great Crossing
(14:27):
got it done. This year, it's much more wide open.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
I'm sorry Maliki was a force. Malachi Marino was a force.
Last year.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
There's nobody and nobody had a guy like him. Nobody
else had a guy like now inside Marine, he was
he was a unicorn and uh, you know, he got
it done. And like I said, I think everybody thought
it was gonna be one of those two teams last year.
This year, there are probably ten teams that could win it.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Tell me something quickly, Rees Davis, you're number one. Yep,
he's ranked. You ranked him number one, nor Laurel, you
think he's mister basketball.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
I think he's the front runner. And you keep you
keep saying I ranked him. Those are Those are the coaches, though,
and I'm not I'm not and I'm not taking I'm
not giving away responsibility. But the reason I say that
is the coach. The coaches are the ones who vote
for mister basketball. And so.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Return about I see that, but I still I'm giving
them to you. Yeah, I see you.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
That's fine, but that's fine. But but the reason I
say that is that the coaches are the ones who
vote for mister basketball. So that's a pretty good indication
of what they're thinking going into this season. Now come February,
you know that could all change, but he was far
and away the number one, you know, vote getter. He's
going to Liberty.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (15:56):
I think he's a similar player to Jake Feldhouse, you know,
law Long athletic, can shoot the three, you know, kind
of very similar players, Rhys Davison and Jake thought Aus.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
And of course north.
Speaker 5 (16:11):
Of Laurel is where Reed Shepherd went and he of
course won Mister Basketball a few years ago, is now
in the NBA. So North Ourel has had a nice
run of players here over the last few years.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
They have that excellent team. They're doing this a tremendous
job there. So I'm kind of excited to see them play.
Oh so I'm gonna have to get out there. I
don't have to go one time. When you're going or
when they're close to this area, you have to let
me know. Now, let's get back to Trinity. What's going
on in Trinity? What kind of team players? How are they?
Speaker 5 (16:45):
Yeah, they're really young and to be quite honest and experienced.
I think they only had two or three guys back
this year who saw a lot of varsity time last year.
And one of them, Vader Cosby, is one of their seniors.
He hasn't played that yet this year because of a
foot injury.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
So you know, I saw them.
Speaker 5 (17:08):
Last week at Malu. Male handed them, you know, pretty easily.
You know, Trinity lost our best player in the off season,
Jayden Johnson, who's a senior who transferred to a prep
academy in Utah.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
They leading Yeah, the leading scorer is Garrison Gilvin. He
was a junior, a really good player. You may know
that last name, Gilvin because of his sisters, you know,
Josie and Riley. Josie is now at U, k Riley
is a junior at Second Heart. They've been really you know,
(17:44):
really good players in that second Yeah. But this is
the yeah. Yeah, he's doing he's doing big things. And
they got a really nice sophomore over there by the
name of Jayden Bartlett, who I think we're gonna be
hearing about a lot over these next couple of years.
But you know, when we think of Trinity and you
know what they've done over the last you know, two
(18:04):
decades and win in some state championships, I'm not sure
that this team is at that level. But you know,
they're always going to play hard, and you know they're
always going to play defense excellent.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Before I let you go, it's seven. You know, we've
got to talk about my bruins. What is going on?
Is Coed Etland? Is he playing yet? What's transparent about?
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (18:26):
He is not playing yet. He was ruled ineligible and
by the Cages of AWA and I haven't heard anything
since then as far as you know, an appeal, and
I'm I assume they're going to make that appeal and
try to get him eligible at some point. We also,
(18:47):
you know, Boogie Cook was another transfer that they got
in from Christian Academy. I haven't confirmed this yet, but
the word is that he is no longer at Bauer,
that he has gone back.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
To the word. Yeah, that's the word I've heard also.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
And it's gonna be interesting because Christian Academy is not
in the King of the Bluegrass bracket, but they are
actually going to play a couple of games at the
King of the Bluegrass because Lee Alabama, who is in
that bracket. Lee Alabama is not allowed to play on Sundays,
so company are so Christian Academy is coming in and
(19:26):
taking their place for a couple of days. So we'll
see if Bookie Cook, we'll find out then if Boogie
Cook is back in that Christian Academy lineup.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
And they were both ranked thirteenth and fourteenth. Of course,
when people don't know a total of eighty five coaches
return ballots, first place votes or what you were speaking about.
It was listed in the paper Jason publicized it. But yes,
Boogie Cook was thirteenth, he has left Ballard and co
Eln was fourteenth. We're waiting to hear the news on that.
(19:57):
So well, yeah, that's.
Speaker 5 (19:59):
All another really good big man. Yeah, they're big man,
you know. Make the drivena is a really nice player
as well.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Yes, he really has a chance to be a good player.
He's got a Malacomorino chance to be a good player
when he develops in time. I liked what I saw
in him, so yes, well, Jason, seven twenty nine, I
got a state of task. Like I told you, I
want to reach out to you about every two weeks
find out what's going on. Thanks for your time, you bet,
thank you, Jakes Shannon at seven thirty, let's take us
(20:31):
to break of course, this is Eve Sports Radio on
numbers five zero, two, five seven, one seventy nine hundred.
We'll talk to you in a second well, welcome back
to Eves Sports Radio guys. Of course we've got to
get our scores in. We've got another caller waiting, Shannon.
Please do me a favor of bringing Johnny to the show. Johnny,
how are you?
Speaker 3 (20:49):
I'm good, Jerry, how are you this morning?
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Johnny? I'm better than I should I deserve. I'll tell
you that.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
So we want to hit this journey because I've got
least mom's coming down to Florida for about six months.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
So you know, you got when your mom's coming, you
got to make sure everything's clean. You better get it straight, Johnny,
get it straight. I'm nothing but a janitor, that's all
I am. Yeah, living right, that's all.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
My mom is a clean market.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Clean A lot of people.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
I don't even know what the baseboards are. They don't
even know what the base are people.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
I got big tall baseboards in my house.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
They're about eight inches. They're like old.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Uh old style baseboards. But hey, y'ah, people have yea.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
I didn't get it if you put my scores in,
but you didn't ask about getting in the barstatch. Oh
you've already put your scores in. Let me see, I
thought I sent that to Yeah, but you hadn't mentioned
I did. Okay, so you are twenty one seventeen, right, Alabama?
I like Alabama's my winter. Also, gosh, seventeen Alabama. I'm
(22:03):
taking the over. Just not enough points. I'm taking the over.
I got your Labama, just not enough points. I think
Alabama pulls the upset on the road.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
We'll see. Hey, you forgot something this morning? You had
Lee Who is that guy?
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Le Shirling? No, that was Jason Franks. Lee Sterling is
coming on in about it. You forgot. You forgot asking
about the Butler Bears and.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Adrian he wasn't on the list.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Let me tell you, Hey, you're gonna you're gonna find
out January sixth, when they played Valord. I'm going to
that game. He better play. Well, I'm gonna call you.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
Don't worry about.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
He better the pressure is on. He's not.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Don't don't you worried about that?
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Coaches, He's not on the list. That's all I'm saying.
I can't call kids out there or not on the list.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
That's all right. I got way to the list thirty.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
The last thirty people, JJ Washington, it's twenty nine. I
just can't.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Yeah, I can't.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Trey Hilliard from Mail is thirtieth. So when he works
his way into the top thirty, I'll make this in
Frans comment. But I will be at that. I gotcha,
I gotcha. He'll he'll get there part the end of
the season. Well, I'm sure you're gonna keep me posted.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
That's I gotcha. You're gonna do that.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
But they're in.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
They're in the King of the blue Grass too.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
So if you go and you'll see him, Okay, well
I'm gonna I will make sure that I sick my
head in. Let's see, I have to schedule up. But
I have taken it down now, Johnny, because I got
to call out some scores.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Well what is that?
Speaker 5 (23:42):
W d the Boys and then they play Ballard after
killing the Bluegrass.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Well, it'll be a loss when they play the Bruins. Yeah,
I got right, but hey, they won their last four
games by at least thirty points. But you know you're
a great promoter for him. You need to come back
from Florida and turn into the sports Johnny. I gotta go.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Yeah, I gotta go. Brother, all right, man, nice stop
and see Jerry christ you.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Too, Hey, Christmas.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
So guys, what we have. We've already had some bowl
football games. I want to call out before we go
to break, and we'll call it Alis Sterling, South Carolina
State forty, Perview thirty eight, Boise State ten, Washington thirty eight,
Troy thirteen, Jacksonville State seventeen, or some of the football
bowl games that have transpired. Old Dominion twenty four to
(24:31):
ten over South Florida, Delaware, Last Night twenty Louisiana thirteen.
These are some of the games that have been playing.
So let's get okay, bring Marty off for I go
to break. Marty, we gotta make this quick.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
You are the leader.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
You are the leader the contest. Well, all right, and
people are shooting at I said, do not slip.
Speaker 6 (24:53):
Oh, it's all good. You know I'm here for pressure,
you know, coming through ball It's all it was was pressure.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Okay, Well, where is what you do? You're up to
going into the playoffs. But that doesn't mean you get
it right.
Speaker 6 (25:07):
Well, all I know is I need a rant. I
need a rant on my winnings. So you know, I'm
getting a little thirsty. I can taste that law.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
No, there are no there's no advances depot so let's
get to the staffs. Alabama Oklahoma, what's your score?
Speaker 6 (25:26):
Abama eighteen, Oklahoma twelve?
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Okay, Miami takes his A and m Am to laying Ole,
Miss oh Miss James Madison and Oregon, the Ducks okay,
the Packers at the Bears, numb Bears got you. I
(25:51):
gotta get to break. I got to go. That is
the leader of the contest. Leave the grants, bye, Hee
sayding is always there's always one. There's always one Sports Radio.
I talk to you at leastly at seven for no advances.
(26:12):
You're worse than We'll talk to you after the break.
Welcome back to Eve Sports Radio. Guys. We have the
one and only Lee Sterling on the line, Paramount Sports.
Everybody's been waiting for you. Lee. Everyone Lee, welcome to
the show. How are you?
Speaker 3 (26:29):
All? Four of them? All four?
Speaker 4 (26:33):
Let me tell you no great, Sorry about that, Lee,
without a doubt.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Leave. My computer has got a mind of its own
and it just shut me off soon as you started speaking.
So sorry about that. This is Lee Sterling, Paramount Sports.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Lee.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
Let's get back to it. What's going on? Okay? Well great,
this is the sports Radio. We're back because you're hurt guys,
I have textical difficulties.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
I do.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
I don't know. I have any idea why my computer
does that sometimes, but it just does. So we're going
to reconnect with Lee, get him back on, and let
him let us know what's transpiring with these games, because
a lot of people are waiting for Lee to hear
what he says about the score. So Lee will be
back in a second and we'll talk to him about
what he expects to happen a lot of big games.
(27:20):
I just want to chalk to him on Lee, sorry
about that. My computer's got to mind of his own,
that's all I can say. All right, as soon as
you started talking, it was gone. Lee. I've got people
fighting for this five hundred dollars in the esports radio
contact fighting for it, I mean, And we're going down
to the wire now the playoff games and one NFL game.
(27:41):
I added the Persons and the Bears this week with
the four playoff games. So they're waiting for you to
give him a little help, that's all. So let's just
throw it. Let's see what we can do. Alabama, Alabama,
that is my game that they have to pick the
score at Oklahoma. What happened transpires.
Speaker 7 (28:01):
Well, the line is switched since I sent you the
email yesterday. So now was Alabama was a one point favorite,
Oklahoma is a one to one and a half point favorite.
Now heavy money coming in the last like eighteen hours,
and maybe justifiably so. I mean ty Simpson obviously not right.
You know, they said he had a bad back, but
(28:24):
that compounded with the offensive line, I mean ten sacks
allowed the last three games. We saw what Oklahoma did
to him in Tuscaloosa. You know, why can't they do
it again? And also John my tears should be healthier now.
He's improved, you know, not that he's been great, but improved,
and I think the time off might help his hand,
(28:44):
and maybe he's closer to one hundred percent. He is
much more of the running thread obviously than ty Simpson,
which is not much, and also turnovers.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
I think that this.
Speaker 7 (28:55):
Opportunistic Oklahoma bunch could be the difference. And they have
best kicker country here in Kate Sandel. No one else
else is even close here. I like Oklahoma. The right
team is favorite here. I think they win this game
here twenty four to twenty.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
So there's no way that Alabama can bounced back. After
the loss to Georgie, there's a pointing loss, disappointing loss
that they can muster up the and show them that
they're the Bama of olde Just there's a way, Yes,
there is a way. I mean it's gonna be a
great coach. And now they were.
Speaker 7 (29:27):
Missing some guys over the last three to four weeks
and they're going to get back most of them. But
Georgia's just beat them up. I mean, it wasn't just
like they executed. They beat them up too. And I
think that that psyche might might be gone at Alabama
psyche and you know, you walk in there with confidence
and I don't know if they.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Have it anymore.
Speaker 7 (29:47):
And Oklahoma's going to have it with that home crowd there,
trust me, that place is going to be bunkers.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Oh oh, that place is going to be bonkers. That's
that's going to be a great game tomorrow. That's that's
going to be a super atmosphere. I just is the
board's going to leave? Is he gonna take the Michigan job?
Speaker 7 (30:03):
And John No, I think he's nah.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
I think he stays.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
I think he stays. How about how about Lane Kiffen.
Speaker 7 (30:08):
Can you imagine if if if that job was opened,
the out him a job and he ended up.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
Taking the LSU job before you know, that would be
that would be so funny, just you know what I
wanted to.
Speaker 7 (30:21):
Would like that, and it's not gonna work out. It's
not gonna work out. I would love to see John
Gruden on an SEC sideline. Can you see like Lane
Kiffin and John Cruden going head to head. I mean
they'd have they'd have the cameras on them more than
they'd have on the game.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
Absolutely, that's the truth. That is a fact. Yeah, I
mean that would be better than coach caller Perry whipping
coach Matino. I'm telling you there you go his A
and M and Miami. Miami is your team, that is
your team. Did Miami pull it upset? Is there any
way they find a way? Is there a pathway to
a win for Miami?
Speaker 7 (30:56):
So when they played in twenty twenty three, there I
said A and m gonna win by six? Mini unraveled.
I mean they drop punt, fumble punt was probably deciding factor.
Also a bunch I think they had like four or
five illegal procedures. The noise affected them. Quarterback was Tyler
Van Dyke. Now you get Carson Beck. That's a big,
(31:17):
big difference here from Tyler Van Dyke to Carson Beck.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Here.
Speaker 7 (31:22):
Also, I don't think the schedule for A and M
was tough. I mean you look at prior to playing Texas,
their SEC schedule, prior to losing to that game against opponents,
the SEC play was eleven and forty, eleven and forty.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
So I do know that, yes, they did have a
favorable schedule. People don't know that they did. They don't
know they only played the BD Notre Dame. The Notre
Dad game is what really thrust them.
Speaker 7 (31:53):
Yeah, and they played the bottom half of the SEC literally,
so little Tony. How about this kid for Miami thinks
something like eighty six catches hasn't dropped the ball. He might,
he might, Maybe he should have deserved the Heisman trophy.
No player was more important to their team than him.
I don't think Miami's going to be intimidated here. And
(32:14):
Marcel Reid, I think that the bloom is off him
a little bit. You know, just watch film on how
to contain him. They contain him and don't let him
run wild. I don't think he can pick him apart
trolling the football here. I like Miami right team, favored
Cane's upset twenty four to twenty three.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
Yep, ooh, A lot of people have been taking Texas
A and M just cart Blanche Texas A and M.
But the places that you're talking about another atmosphere that's
going to be a crazy atmosphere. Also got what is
the atmosphere Louisville and well, well, there is one thing.
There is one thing.
Speaker 7 (32:50):
The game starts at eleven am there, so they're not
going to be able to get too riled up. They'll
be you know, they'll be waking up from the bonfire
from the night before right before it.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
I guarantee you they're going to be ready. So, but
I'm looking at forward at Miami may be able to
pull it up to everyone. I think everyone of my
contests has gone straight TAKESA A and M. No a
few people. I'm taking Miami. So great game. Louisville at
Toledo December the twenty third. I was if it was
the twenty second League, I was going to come to
(33:21):
the game, but I don't want to run the risk
trying to get on that late night's flight on the
twenty thirty to get back. So I said, no, what
goes on? Boke a beautiful location, My man Mike lives there.
What happens? Louisville wins easily, I'm sure, and they should.
Speaker 7 (33:38):
I mean if they don't, something something is really wrong here.
So I mean the opponent.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
That they're playing. You talk about, you.
Speaker 7 (33:46):
Know, talent level not there. I mean they played you know,
they played West Virginia, played a couple mediocre teams here.
If Louisville brings seventy five percent of their game, they
get the job done. Toledo takes them. They have to
have too many eight, ten, twelve play drives. And that's
if everything goes right here. I think just Louisville hit
(34:07):
on some too many explosive plays here. I'm gonna go
with Louisville. I think they win this game here thirty
four to thirteen.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Card last year thirty four, I would agree, looking forward
to seeing it though. Of course Western plays are not
on your list, but Western Kentucky here a lot of
people follow them. They play Southern Mississippi at five point
thirty right after the Louisville game. So good, let's go
to now the Coats, I mean the forty nine ers
in the Coats. Can you believe who is playing quarterback
(34:35):
for the Coats? Come on, man, it's then five years.
I thought it was a joke.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
I thought it was a joke.
Speaker 7 (34:40):
When I they almost when I first saw the report,
and you know, I said, oh, they're bringing them in
for a tryout.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
I'm like, wow, let's be for a forty four year old.
Speaker 7 (34:52):
He looked pretty good, but a big quarterback.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (34:56):
I mean, look at the effort that defense game. I mean,
just shut down Seattle. They deserve to win. Can they
bring it a second week in a row? I know
the games at home, but I doubt it. I mean
San Francisco defensive coordinator Robert Sala one of the best
he's he's seen now there is a blueprint now out
there how to defend Philip Rivers, and he'll set his
(35:18):
team up and put him in a good position to
win this game.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
I like San Francisco twenty seven to seventeen. I just
don't want fill Up to get injured. I just don't.
I just I just don't. But he played really well.
I mean the Seattle game. Have for a field goal
to beat them would would have been amazing. That would
have been the comeback up, comeback.
Speaker 7 (35:39):
Oh, they carry they carry him off. They carry him
off and take him straight to the to the retirement home.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
What about Hall of Fame? Did get well, he's got no,
he's got to wait five years now, got way five years.
I can't believe he came back. He has the way
five more years. Again. I don't think that was a
good rule for him. He's had a great creat Philip
rivers well though.
Speaker 7 (36:02):
He's definitely going to get if he if they win
a couple of games, he's getting in.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
Put it that way. There you go, But I agree
with you. I'm pulling for the cold enter, I really am.
I just don't want to see Philip get injured. Let's
agree with you. My Raven last week again, Cincinnati boy,
an example of running the ball. Let's just we're going
to make sure we run the ball. They ran over
the Bengals. Bill Burrow's is struggling. A lot of people
(36:27):
are criticizing Joe right now. But you've got the Raven
and the Patriots, which is a really good game. What
goes on? Who wins that game? Are there? I think
they are?
Speaker 7 (36:41):
I mean, you know, sometimes you got to pay your dues,
and you know, everything doesn't go right in the gaming.
You learn from from a loss, and I think they
might have learned from that loss here. You know how
to shut the door, so you don't just go from
you know, the two or three wins to thirteen or
fourteen wins and win a title. Just doesn't happen that way.
(37:02):
But I like the fact that they can run the football.
Look at Trevian Henderson. He might be the biggest threat,
best running back in this game. He hit fifty six
and why don't they play him more? I mean, just
play the kid more.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
I don't know what you know. People don't want to
run the ball anymore in the NFL. They just don't well.
Speaker 7 (37:20):
Stevens and they they're giving it to Stevens and Stevenson's
fumble prone, doesn't have the explosiveness. I mean, I'd play
him like eighty five to ninety percent of the time.
Lamar Jackson only two rushes in the game last week.
I think Drake May right now, I'm saying, right now,
is the better runner and passer. I'm taking New England here,
wrong team favorite. I think they're for real. I think
(37:42):
New England wins this game here twenty seven to twenty four.
Speaker 3 (37:45):
Yes, after jumping up twenty one to nothing on the balls,
and of course Josh Allen wud a great comeback like always,
but it looked like they were going to destroy the Bills.
The Patriots don't coming long late. Drake may is the
biggest surprise in right now. I think everyone would admit
that he's the biggest surprise in the NFL. And you
hit it on the head. He does have legs. People
(38:08):
don't want to give him credit for that. He's mobile, Well,
he does have they.
Speaker 7 (38:11):
They you know he because you know he doesn't have well,
he's had some long runs.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
But you know, he's not as flashy, let's put it
that way. Maybe not quite as fast.
Speaker 7 (38:21):
You know, he doesn't look as good of a runner
when he's out there running the football. It doesn't look
like Lamar Jackson. Lamar's healthy, but pretty darn good. Not
not much of a difference right now.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
Maybe better, pretty good. And like you say, Henderson is
a difference maker. That kid from Mohouse State. That play
he made when he's took it about seventy yards, who's
speed on top of speed. I'm looking forward to that one. Now.
Your last game. How do they get this old miss?
Where do they find you? And how do they get
the ole miss game?
Speaker 7 (38:52):
Yep, just call eight hundred four hundred nine seven one,
give him all miss and too lane on me. I
think there's a clear right side to this game, this
old miss roll. You know they've already been too lane
easy or uh you know without a head coach and
John Summer all on the other side staying because he's
going to stay as long as they stay alive here
(39:14):
before he goes to Florida.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
Uh, can they keep it closer? Pull the upset?
Speaker 7 (39:18):
First five callers should call eight hundred four hundred ninety
seven four one. Given the game for free war in
a role we've won twelve or fifteen weeks checking all
the specials Paramount sports dot com, and we'll be back
Thursday before the Super Bowl. All right, buddy, there you go.
Appreciate it late. You'll be back Thursday to put.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
The super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Please take care of it. Guys, he's Radio tent fifty six.
This thing is over. Put a smile on someone's face.
Christmas is one week away. All you have to do
is open the door for someone yellow to someone, wave
at someone you don't have to buy something, but put
a smile on somebody's face. For me, these were radio guys.
Will and I'll be back tomorrow. Love you, bye bye.
