Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to EVE Sports Radio. Guys. It is December
the twenty third, twenty twenty five. Time to get pumped.
Forty eight hours forty eight hours from Christmas. Of course,
this is EVE Sports Radio. You all know that, and
everyone knows I've lost my mind over Christmas. But we're
two days away from the Holy Day. Put a smile

(00:22):
on someone's face. Do something nice for somebody. Just hold
a door open for the lady. Do anything. You don't
have to buy gish you do not, it's overrated. But
do something for someone now. Welcome back to the show.
The phone number is five zero two five seven one
seventy nine hundred. That's five zero two five seventy nine hundred.
This is Sports Talk seven ninety KRD. I've got the

(00:45):
balls behind the glass today, Gus the balls. We've got
to put on a good show for Gus because you
know he's he's the boss. So Gus, we appreciate you
sitting in with us.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Happy to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Good morning, Good morning, Gus. That's all I can Anyway,
let's bring all that co host to mind. Gussies. Guess
he doesn't have a job. If you need to employ somebody,
Scott's available. He's like Tommy on the Martin Lawrence Show.
He doesn't have a job. We all know that. Scott,
welcome to the show.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
How are you you know, let's just get something straight here. Yes,
like I do have a job. We don't need to
talk about that. We don't need to go into that.
But let's talk about the bigger picture here, coach, and
this is whatever. No listen. People, back in the day,
you know, you discuss things behind closed doors. But now

(01:35):
everybody has to air their laundry out in public. So
I'm gonna I want to air my laundry out here.
You always ask me if I've deposited the check you
send me. Yes, people, he still sends checks. Okay, you've
got to work on that. Okay, now, okay, So he

(01:58):
has sent me a check that he he said to
he mailed to his cousin's house before. Okay, this last
check that he said. Thankfully, the gentleman at the front
desk knew what apartment I lived in because you forgot

(02:18):
to put the apartment number. You you do anything.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Ever, they want to cast I didn't want to.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
You do you do anything and everything to try and
not to pay me. Thankfully, people know who I am
around here.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
They should. I don't know what you do for a living,
but they know you. Lucky you got it cast on time.
I was getting ready to stop payment on that check.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
I already know, I already know.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
I'm telling you as long as you understand, you.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Have more more bounce than them. And I'm surprised they can't.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
They don't you just better cash? No, they kindish, but
you better do it pronto. Gott Let me tell you
something before we get going seven or nine, guys, I
made a huge mistake yesterday. Not a huge mistake, a
small mistake on the contest. My mind was going, we've
got the two days today. I'm not on tomorrow. I'm sorry, guys.
I lied, and we've got two maybe three days next week,

(03:23):
so we're gonna have five days to get in our scores.
The only difference is the three people that I took
their score. Adam, Greg Richard buzz me by text me.
Y'all know where to find me. And we have to
change the pro game to not this week's game, but
next week's game, which is gonna be the Chargers and

(03:44):
the Broncos and they'll be playing for the Division of title.
So period, point blank. That game, there will be nobody
sitting out. They'll have to have it to get the buy.
That is the game Chargers Broncos next weekend, so the
games don't start until the thirty first. That's Ohio State Miami.
So we've got today, get your scores in or think

(04:06):
about them. We've got next week Monday, Tuesday, maybe Wednesday,
Pendel hall of Field. I'm sorry, but we do so.
I just wanted to make sure I got that correction out.
The three people and the people that sent me on
the internet my email. You've got time to send me
the correction. It's only the Pro game, okay, guys. The

(04:28):
Pro Game was changed from the Eagles Bills this weekend.
I was tripping. I don't do drugs, but I was
doing something. But it's next week's Chargers Denver Broncos game. Guys,
same division. Whoever wins it gets the bye week they'll
be playing. That's the game. So those are the five games,

(04:49):
you know, the four playoff games. You know those Ohil
State Miami, Good Game, Texas Tech, Oregon. That's the game
that matters. Four versus five, Indiana, Alabama, Georgia all miss
four playoff games. Start next Wednesday, and then we've got

(05:10):
the Pro Game next Sunday. So we've got today, and
of course I know you're all going to wait till
next week. I understand how we do it, but anyway,
I just wanted to make sure we got that correction
out Scott. So there we go. Now here's the things
gotten that I want to tell people yesterday. Okay, I
told people. It's got to send this to my team

(05:31):
to uo. I grew up in a family of five kids,
mom and dad. We lived in Newburgh. I thought I
had it all I did. I never went hungry. Got
me ever. I drank water out of the holes in
the backyard with the guys, the older guys, and I
was just enamored because they did it and I was

(05:52):
able to do it too. I grew up with great friends,
Hero and Richard Logan. I mean, I'm being honest with you.
Would you all well? No, be let me be truthful.
Harold told me if he told me what he truly
did for the Armed forces, he drove every plane made,
he'd have to kill me. That was Those were my
best friends, the Logans, Harold Richard Logan. Richard is a

(06:14):
producer for CBS and Los Angeles. That was my new
Bird game. I mean, they're pretty I think their careers
were much better than mine. I'm just gonna be honest
with you. I cried when I left Newberg. But I'm
telling you all this because I always indicated on how
much money I had got on what kind of desserts

(06:34):
I could eat, that's all, and how good the food was.
That was rich. Having food good food that was rich
to me. A lot of people come on picnics. We
would get those special k sodas. We didn't have sodas.
We had kol Aid. I thought kool Aid was the
best thing in the world. I didn't know what a
coke was. Guys had no idea what a true coke

(06:57):
and a can was. So I'm sitting in my office
yesterday just letting you all know this, going hmm, I'm
bored of going to the same place as always go.
I want to go somewhere new So Scott I said,
there's a place right over there off Main Street. I'm
gonna go by there and see. It's called Black Coffee
b L A K Coffee kale F F E E E. Scott.

(07:22):
It's twelve nineteen West Jefferson Street. It's right next to
Park Community Bank. Guys, I got an account Withood Park.
You' all all know that Park does a lot of
things for Simmons College. It's boy, my boy, Raymond Smith,
and I went in for the first time and Ronelle
young Black proprietor owns the business. It's right in the

(07:43):
Russell neighborhood. So if you all don't know, the Russell
neighborhood is beach Terrace, Scott. That's where I was born.
I was born in Beechy Terrace. I moved to Newburgh.
First one to ever live in my house again, Scott.
I thought I was rich. First family to ever moved
in my house in Newburgh or the Eaves family I
was one and a half years old got me sixty one.
We moved into Newburgh. I was born in fifty nine.

(08:06):
I was born in beach Terrace and Scott. Russell neighborhood
is Beacha Terras right across the street from where I
used to play as a little kid. When I used
to go back to my mother's house, Nana, when I
played six Scott, which I did all the time, I
would stay at Nana's house a lot and I'd play
at the park directly Caddy corner from this restaurant. Guys,

(08:26):
I'm telling you give it a shot. It is really good.
I ordered chicken caesadas. I want you all to know something.
I'm not a huge on Mexican food, but I wanted
to see how good was Scott. So I said, I'm
gonna try something new. I could have stayed to the breakfasts,
which I love. I could have stayed with the chicken sandwich,

(08:47):
which I love, Guys, I said, no, I'm gonna I'm
gonna stretch out. I said, let me see your chicken case.
Who do you Scott? And seasoned fries. Oh, it was unbelievable.
So I'm just telling you, guys, if you're looking for
a new place to go, go to Black Coffees. No advertisement,
this is not a E sports radio. I'm not getting anything.

(09:09):
I just want you all to check him out. That's
all I can tell you. It's really good. So that
is my new I'm gonna try to go to a
different restaurant a week Scott and just check it out.
But I wanted you yesterday and I was highly impressed.
So now it's got seven to fifteen when we come
back we're gonna talk about Melville dogs. Melville dogs. I

(09:32):
think you took care of somebody again. I hate doing
Carney's galleries, Bitwin. I hate throwing them under the bus
Carney's galleries, but I have to. The people are the best.
It's just that owner. Oh god, he wasn't too happy
because I mean, he's big into Saint Xavier. He's a
wildcat Scott, and he's huge in the savings Saint Xavier.

(09:54):
I'm just telling you he loves St. Xager. I don't
know if you he may love Sant Xavier Ben than cats.
I don't. It's close those Scott and Middle High School,
just a little public school, took care of him. So
Coach Kline and Sant Xavier is a really good coach though, Scott.
I don't want anybody to get this twist. I love
Coach Klin. Scott. He's a shirttail in man. A kid

(10:16):
came in late for practice last year. I was there
with John, first time I've ever been to their practice
and let us in. First thing he said to that kid,
and you know me, Scott, schurttails in. I said, he's
my man. Little details matter, you know, Scott Scott, you
weren't there yet. You weren't there yet. But you do
know I cut a kid a picture day. I told

(10:36):
him once, no churtails out. He came out shirttail out
picture day. I cut him, Yes or no, Scott from
a college team, Yes or no? Is that true or not?
I cut him. Guys, when you're trying to start a
program over again, details matter, period, point blank. I don't
know if the kid was the next Michael Jordan, but
I cut him. Said, I'm not saying it twice. It's

(10:58):
too hard to turn around a band program. Too hard. Details, Matt.
So we're gonna go to break seven seventeen. When we
come back, you can get your scores in if you
want to. I know you're gonna wait till next week.
I know you, guys and girls, but we're gonna throw
it to the national news and Scott and I are
gonna just chit chat. E Sports Radio seven seventeen. We'll
talk to you after the break. Dude, dude, du dreaming,

(11:25):
I Christmas, it's not gonna happen. It's gonna be sixty degrees.
Welcome back to EVE Sports Radio. It's not gonna happen.
It's not gonna happen, not this year. But welcome back
to the show, Scott. We got people waiting lined up
like the airport in Atlanta which you and I have

(11:45):
lived at. Let's go to Bland first planning. Welcome to
the show.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Good morning to the great Gus and good morning Coach Scotty.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (11:54):
And Uh?

Speaker 2 (11:55):
I don't know who the other guy is, but I
hope you guys have a great morning.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Thank you blead a good morning.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Uh, Coach Scotty gets you man, forget you man, I
don't know who forget you, Coach Scott.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Did you hear Jerry, Coach Scott, did you hear Jerry
when first come on talking about president or overrated buying gifts. Well,
well we all know he truly believes that, don't he.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Coach Scott absolutely sick?

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Yeah, yeah, you know, you know, Coach Scott. What's really
sad is that compound that Jerry has. You know that
we all know Jerry. You know Jerry has a compound.
He don't have a record residential home. He has a
compound and he has a loyal staff that gets up
every morning. Came range, no no sleep. It doesn't matter
coach Scott. He' they're after working and and he can't

(12:46):
even throw them, not even a gift at Christmas time.
Isn't that awful?

Speaker 1 (12:50):
You know?

Speaker 3 (12:51):
He talks about this is a great time of year,
but he's he's like a scrooge.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
For people that don't need it. But you're right, I
hope people that need it, not the need. I don't
the greedy. I don't help the needy. I help you
two are greedy. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Well. I just want to call in and tell everybody
at East Sports Radio and all the great people that listen,
they have a great Christmas and happy New Year, and
enjoy your loved ones and spend time with your family.
And most of all, Jerry, I just hope you find
it in your soul to remember your staff this year
at Christmas time.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
I will. They sure look like me. I was blowing
leaves yesterday. That staff looks like me. So my neighbors
know the truth. I'm the only one that does my yard.
They're on the yard. I'm the only one. I hate
to tell you, in my neighborhood, I'm the only one,
and everyone knows it. So now.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Gerry and now.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Jerry, one last thing, I'd like to ask you, gentlemen,
is DJ Medcalf not the dumbest of all time? Did
you know, Jerry that that incident Sunday could cost him
forty million dollars?

Speaker 1 (14:04):
I'm glad because honestly, I did not talk to you, Blanding.
I want people to know we have not spoken. That's
all right to do less than Scott. Scott is that
on my to do list. I'm gonna talk about it, Blanding.
It makes no sense. But but did you you all know?

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Did you know there's a clause in his contract. It's
all over the media this morning that he has a
extension clause. If he gets suspended for one game by
the NFL for anything, his contract with his Steelers is
his void.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
And now, yes, well we're gonna have to see how
that plays out. But you're he put himself in distress, Landing,
See you do your score is the day you're gonna
hold him.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
No, Merry Christmas, have a great hollow Mary Christmas.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
Brothers, we're gonna get to that. We're gonna get to
that we really are blended. Let's go to Joe. Joe,
welcome to the sports. Yeah, I'm good, Jo, are you
can you hear me? I can hear you? Will yep?

Speaker 4 (15:03):
Well good good. I haven't turned my uber on yet,
will be so. I'm glad I got a hold for
you this morning.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
But if I want my play, you want your Christmas present?
What is it?

Speaker 4 (15:15):
What is your Chris the major picks?

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Okay, let's go with it, then, Joe, you've got all
the game that matters is Texas Tech Oregon. What's you score?

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Uh? Twenty seventh of twenty four? Uh?

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Texas Tech twenty seven twenty four Scott. This was the
right game to choose. I've had four people, it's now
two and two, and well, no, I've got that is
the third Texas Tech. I have one online. So that's
when you know it's balanced out. That's right. When I've
got you, you're the only one. I've got twenty eight.

(15:50):
I've got thirty four to twenty eight Oregan, I've got
twenty eight twenty one Texas Tech. I have twenty four
to seventeen Oregan, and I'm not going to go online
to find the the guys scored, but it's not yours.
I've got you down Texas take twenty seven Oregon twenty
four Joe Ohio State, Miami.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
Let's see, I'm gonna take I'm gonna go ahead and
take on Miami.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Okay, well, they sure dominated. They dominated Texas A, and
M filled them to three points period. That's domination. Acc
that it surprised me. I'm not gonna see there and live.
They took Tech. They dominated Texas A and M surprised me.
Indiana Alabama set off from Mendiana.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
I gotta take Indiana, Okay, I hear you.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
All I can say is this, if Alabama's in the
game at halftime, Alabama's loving to win it, that's all.
Like Alabama's a funny team. Scott got there. Funny they are.
That was Georgia. That was a crazy game. Georgia, Ole miss.
I mean all home are definitely Georgia.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
Georgia.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Is that definitely Georgia? Oh you definitely. The football game
that matters now is the Chargers at Denver. Both teams
have to have it for the bye week. They will
be playing who you taking.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Who's Who's Who's the bigging right now.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Is the Chargers. Okay, but the Chargers had defeated Denver.
But the Chargers are behind one game. But they defeated Denver.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
You got, I'm gonna go ahead with Denver.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Okay, got you down, Joe, Joe, I appreciate you. I
did have a winner last week. It wasn't you joke, Anthony.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
I lost too, but I did. I'm not Chicago one though.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Yeah, you're right. Hey, the Chicago game is huge for
the leader.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
Martin and I.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Had Miami to last week.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Yes, I mean two huge wins. So Joe, I appreciate you. Listen, though,
you have a great Christmas joke. Thank you. Be safe.
Let's go to John to Johnny. Welcome to the sports radio.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
How are you morning, Scott Moring, Jerry, Good.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Morning on Johnny. Done in Florida, Scott, He's done in
Florida with you, Sunshine.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
I'm gonna cash. I'm gonna cash that check today. You
I know, Scott said it's got a cash by date
on or not want that to pass?

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Uh. I was wondering when you were going to do it.
I stopped that thing yesterday. I'm through with you, giant.
I don't know where we go, Johnny.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
I knew I was. I knew I wasn't gonna win
no money.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
So yes, you better get that check in the bank.
I was sitting there the Scott.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
Right, Scott, I know it's gonna bounce. If you're gonna
bounce like a basketball, you're lucky.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
I didn't know. It's just gonna be canceled. They're gonna
say canceled, not bounced.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
Right. Hey, I got a couple of subjects to talk about.

Speaker 6 (18:53):
Okay, Well, the Butler Bears didn't win King of the Bluegrass,
but uh not. But they lost the first game they
got in the cancelation the consolation bracket, and they got
to the finals and they lost that game.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
So they lost two games by three points each.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Mm hmmm. They did.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Respectable.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
They played well.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
Adrian Adrian Tournament.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
I know that, Johnny. I had Tony Branch at the game.
I had him watch. Now, the gentleman you've been talking
to me about its signed a k State. Isn't that correct?
He's signed to go.

Speaker 5 (19:33):
To Kentucky State.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
Correct?

Speaker 1 (19:34):
Okay, yeah, so we gotta get him switched over to Simmons.
But yes, we watched him.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
I know we're trying to but that's where that was
his first offer.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
I know. Well, I mean we can, Hey, we got
to name him and likeness, we can cancel that. But
Tony did like it. He played hard. He's a good shooter.
Scott said, he's headed, he's tough. I'm gonna watch him
play January the six I'm gonna watch the Battler Butler
game at Butler. I'm gonna be there on January the sixth.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
Truly all right, Well he made the All tournament team.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Yes he did. I do know that also, so tell
him congratulations. But I am watching him now.

Speaker 5 (20:10):
Well, well, here's the thing, so we kept we kept
it in the family because his brother Liam is on
the male wrestling team, so Mail one. So either way,
it was a bonus.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
There you go. No, Mail must have played really well.
They must have played really wanted to beat Saty Zagera
last night. So uh that's kudos, kudos absolutely right. So scores, Yes,
let's get him. I'm ready. Let's go Texas, Texas, Oregon,
Texas Tech Oregon.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
Excuse me, Uh, I'll take Oregon.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
Give me a score. That's the game.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
I'm gonna go high on this one. I'll say thirty
five to thirty Oregon.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Okay, no one has that for sure. Oh State to Miami.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
Oh boy, m I probably shouldn't do it, but you
have to take some chances. Sometimes I'll take Miami.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
You're gonna have to, Yes, a lot of people are
gonna have to take chances to catch Mark because if
he stays with the chunks, I mean up says the
only way. He's up three. Now he's up three. That
Dame game, I'm gonna tell you what. That game with
the Bears, oh my god, and the Packers was crazy.
I mean just crazy how that happened. So anyway, right,

(21:36):
Indiana number one against Alabama. Indiana, Okay, Georgia, have to
wait on that.

Speaker 5 (21:45):
I knew that one.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Mm hm Georgia. O miss.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
Ah, Georgia.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
The game. Here's another great game, Chargers and the Broncos
in Denver.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
Well, I've always yeah, I've always been an Oakland Raider
fan from the seventies, so I like the ASC West.
So I'm going to take the Chargers.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Got you, We've got you down, John, appreciate you. Now.

Speaker 5 (22:13):
I got one other thing.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
If I have time, hit me quick, Yeah, you got
one minute? Hit me.

Speaker 5 (22:18):
Okay. Well, everybody's talking about Jeff Brohm's getting quartered by
my Michigan probably probably fifteen twenty years ago. I used
to work at the Bristol on the East End Bristol,
and we had a retired Michigan school teacher came in

(22:40):
and gave me tickets. So we went to ann Arbor
watch a game. They were playing the last place team
in the Big Ten and we went with the Ark
Robinson was the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
We go to the game.

Speaker 5 (22:53):
There's one hundred and ten thousand people in the stadium.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Quiet the last.

Speaker 5 (22:59):
Louisville plays the last place team, and that whatever conference
they're in, there's twenty thousand people in the stadium. That's
the difference.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
That's a different I agree, no Michigan wantsim. I can't
see him turning it down. We'll have to wait and
see them. Johnny, I gotta get to break appreciate you.
It's seven thirty.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
Christmas.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Mary Christ's take us away. Welcome back to the sports
radio guys. Is em twenty third smile on your face?
Seven thirty five? Yes, maybe love you too. That's headed
to work. A lot of people's loved ones are heading
out to work. Please be safe for yourself, your loved ones,

(23:38):
and everyone else's Welcome back to the show. So Scott,
we got Mike. You got a hold on for a second.
I've got to get some national done, Mike, then I'm
coming to you. Let me get some things done though. First,
So Scott, where do you want me to start? First? Ten?
What do you need? Scott?

Speaker 3 (23:52):
And there's so much to cover? Does very quickly. I
mean John Carney, he had to be excited that, you
know the same Xavier have just got that close. And
he's a Cat fan. And the Cats got that close
to winning the national championship in volleyball. Texas and I

(24:13):
think they surprised everybody.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
I think the number three seed, well, I mean a
Kentucky they were a Hulbert seed, but Texas and number
three seed did surprise some people. Congratulations, I mean Scott,
I tell people all the time. I talked just as
highly of my eighty two final four as I do
my championship. Anytime you get there, I want it. Three
out of foursolutely is a great accomplishment. Forget what people say,

(24:37):
you gotta win the chip. They ain't go away. They've
never won a chip. They don't know how hard it
is to do it. But when you can put yourself
in that position like Kentucky did, Congratulations to University of
Kentucky's volleyball team played really well. Happy for their staff,
their players. They really did excellent jobs. So yep, nothing else,
what else you got, Scott? What else you have on that?

(24:59):
But I mean, and you got to understand Craig Skinner
has been there forever the coach. He's got a super
traffick Kentucky. I think that's his second or third Final four.
He's got a national championship under his belt. So a
great job Cats.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Next thing, So in regards to the Cats, so that
a big win against Saint John's over the weekend. Jaden
Quinton's made his debut and coming back from his injury.
What are your thoughts on what you saw from him
and how they played against Saint John's.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
He's the he's the talent, Scott. You can always see it.
When he was on the floor, you could just see
his level of talent was better than everyone else's period.
Pointed blank. It's not hard to see, guys. It's not
hard to pick secretariat out of a pack of mules. Now,
I'm not saying there were pack of mules out there,
but Jade and Quinton's talent level is undisputable. Got me.

(25:57):
I just want to see that here's the key guy
that he says healthy, knock on wood, knock on my head.
He stays healthy and he's able to play from here
on out for the Cats. If he's able to play,
they're a different level team. Okay, Scott second Low played
really well for them yesterday. George was thinking that he
was a shoot first. He hasn't been with Kentucky. He

(26:20):
did last year at Pittsburgh. He was a shoot first
point guard, but he has been looking to distribute the ball,
no question about that. He has to stay healthy. Guys,
that shoulder of his has to stay healthy. So there's
still a lot of doubts because we have to see
if they can endure. Kentucky fans, you know what happened
last year with all the injuries. Add it's hard to
win without your best players. That's all there is to it.

(26:43):
I don't care if you got Kentucky on the front
of your jersey, if you got Repperena on your back,
it don't make a difference if you don't have your
best players. And those two players really helped Kentucky. Now,
I love Alway. I think now just like last year,
Owie was very very good, had a super year. I
never have a year like he had last year, but
he had so many good players around him, the pressure

(27:04):
just didn't fall on him. He could do Superman things
at Superman times, but it wasn't all the time. That's
the difference, guys, It wasn't all the time. He had
a lot of help. People were making shots for Kentucky
last year. They could score the ball. Butler was a beast.
Look at the Louisville game. Butler thirty points, thirty plus points.
He was a beast. There were a lot of good players.

(27:25):
Look at the pro ranks, Look where they are Williams
with the Boston G League team, he had a lot
of good players with him. Now that he does again,
he'll be able to flourish. Teams will not be able
to key on old way. He'll be a much better
player than when he was the go two guy. The
go two guys not that good guys. I hate to
tell you he doesn't have rank. Yes, he hit some

(27:46):
three pointers, but that's not what he does. He is
a slasher to the hoop. As long as that floor
is faced and people have to deal with other talents.
He is a very good player. So now I think
Kentucky's pretty formidable. Scott if they can jail and come together.
I told people the most oh gosh discussed person on

(28:09):
Kentucky's team the first ten games was Brandon Garrison, especially
with that little attitude adjustment he had to have. But
now that you've got everybody healthy, I love Malechymarino, jayden
Quince's is a top guys. I'm just being honest with
I know all the pro scouts. Jaden's the top ten pick.
If he doesn't play at Kentucky, he ain't gotta play

(28:29):
a game. He's a top ten NBA pick. This year
got me. That was why it surprised me. He played
because he is so knowing that Scott now, Garrison is
the perfect third big man. He can stretch the floor,
he can hit a three pointer. He is different than
the other two. He does things that they don't do

(28:49):
that will make him really valuable to the Kentucky So
the most maligned guy could turn into somebody that people
are like, yeah, come on, Brandon, hit that shot. So Scott,
They've got a lot of pieces. I like what I see.
Cam Williams played well. The Tulane transfer started to make
his shots. Guys, He's a shooter. The only shot twenty
five percent, Kentucky will shoot better than I'm not saying

(29:12):
they're thirty three point shooting team, guys, but there are
thirty three percent three point shooting team, which makes them
a better team. So I do expect them to get better. Scout.
Let's get Mike on before we get some more of
these things out of the way. Mike, what were these?
Sports Radio? How are you?

Speaker 5 (29:27):
Good morning, gentlemen. I just wanted to call and wish
you all merry Christmas.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Mike, you're gonna get your scores? Er you scared? Mike?

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Are you scared?

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Man?

Speaker 4 (29:37):
I'm not scared.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Come on, let's go before we before we do that.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Don't let him bait this mic.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
But you know he did no, he did he did that.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
He did that Saturday or he touched a nerve with me.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
I said in the text message and said, man, we
are a different breed with low and Quainton's on the
on the floor and the only thing he sends back
was lucky.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
When I did Scott, I had to get him, Scott,
quint and Jayden Quinton. That hit, that hit right on
a nerve. I had to know Scott. I'm gonna give
his wife credit this boy's Christmas yard is beautiful. I
mean the lights.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
I just haven't got nothing to do with the outside.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
I'm not giving you any credit mind stop, you're wildcat.
I'm giving it to your wife. I don't like you.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
We are in it, hey, Mike.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
So look, I hope you and your family have a
great Christmas. Though we're gonna get your scores in. But
appreciate everything you do. Appreciate you just supporting my show,
being a really good guy. And Scott, we we went
to whole ten, Scott. We were all tied up, Scott.
It mattered. We got to play Frankie's Drive. Everybody played
Frankie's Drive. It was it was a chipping and button contest.

(30:58):
Hey Mike, what happened?

Speaker 4 (31:01):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (31:02):
Well, you're talking about the one lucky shot that you
stuck about two foot from the pen.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Yes, yes, and that's why.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
That's why I've already started.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
My indoor training and I'm gonna whoop you this thing.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
I know that I love it. We wait to get out,
Mike can not wait, Like, Okay, let's get to it. Brother.
The game that matters. It is Texas Tech against Orgon.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
Are you texta teck?

Speaker 1 (31:29):
And who Oregon. Oh, give me Oregon, Okay, give score?

Speaker 5 (31:38):
Uh give me twenty seven seventeen.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Let me see twenty four. You're good. Okay, you're good.
Let's go a going to put me in the buyers
brush too.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Are you want to get it Miami? Yeah, I'm you
ain't scared. I've you already got your money once I
think you got I think you got.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
The wrong winner, and I'm going over because you're right.
Nobody's gonna play defense. They're gonna score the ball. So
Texas Tech may try to play a little defense, but
I think Texas Tek wins and I'm taking when I'm
taking the over twenty eight seventeen, Orgon, let's go iu Alabama.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
I want you to win, but I'm trying to get
your money, So let's go to Alabama.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Okay, there's a lot, Scott. The only thing where evaluating
is Ohio State as good as we think they are,
because that's Indiana's true win. They beat Oregon and Ohio State,
Ohio State defending champs. I just still like guys. Alabama
doesn't look the part until they start playing the part.

(32:45):
And when they start playing the part, Scott Simpson gets going,
They get going and.

Speaker 5 (32:50):
There's also there's also a thing called You've been there before.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
Yeah, I mean that's true.

Speaker 5 (32:56):
Indiana's never played on Indiana's never football, never played on
the stage before.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Where they are hunted. They are the hunted. People are
coming for them. Georgia, Ole miss Who do you have?

Speaker 5 (33:07):
Georgia?

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Okay? And the Pro game next week? The Pro Game
again is the Chargers at Denver. Who you go with?

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Chargers?

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Got you? I've got you, brother, make I gotta get
the break because I'm gonna use this as the best
of love. You man. Have a great Christmas, right.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
And we'll have a merry chursas happy new ye and
I'll talk to you next.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Week later, bro Eastwarts Radio, guys, take us away. We'll
be back with some more national news after the break.
Welcome back, You're concern the close. Come on, guys, you
gotta love it. Scott, you don't even know who's singing.
You're too young. But anyway, welcome back. We all know

(33:50):
Elvis Presley. Scott back to Radio seven forty nine. Scott,
listen to more national news before I get to David. David,
I'm coming to you, Scott. What else do we have
national news.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
On the short side. We got two big Bowl games
today for the state of Kentucky, got Louisville or playing
Galito down here in Boca. Surprise, you're not down here,
and then you got.

Speaker 5 (34:14):
Me and.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
I agree, good game. Congratulations of both teams. We'll find
out if we're gonna lose Coach Bron after the game. Guys,
if Michigan wants coach Brom it would be very hard
for Louisville to try to keep him financially. We just
could not do it. It's just no way. We'll have
to see. And I'm being honest with everyone. If you're
coach Bron and you want a chance to win a

(34:42):
national championship, I love Louisville, guys, and people said that
we couldn't win one in basketball, and I did, Darryl Gooffin,
did Derek Smith, Wiley Brown scoo to Rodney Ponto, Wright,
Roger Bergman, Tony Brandt. But I just don't know if
Louisville can ever win a national championship football, but Coach
Brown can win one at Michigan. So we're going to

(35:04):
find out what happens. I have no idea what happens.
I know he loves it. Here, his family's here, guys,
he's at the restaurant with close friends of mine. He
really loves it here. But that's a hard turn down.
We'll have to wait and see, so, Scott, we'll have
to We'll have to check that out after the game tonight.
We may find out two o'clock game today, we may
find out more after the game about Coach Brown's steps.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
And well, you know, and in that aspect, like looking
at it, like I don't know. Yes, he it's tough
for him to win a national championship at Louisville, but
I don't know if he's if he could even get
it done. Look at the games that he's lost in
the a SEC. And yes, I get it's hard for

(35:49):
him to turn down Michigan, but like, I don't know
if he's the right fit Michigan. Like he's just dominating
the AC.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Man. You can't, I can't if you knock him a
damn coach. Now hold up, man, Well, he did his
first year in the championship game at a SEC. Yet
the man is due now he played in the championship. Okay,
the last two years there have been some funny losses.
But Scottie, the boys at Alabama. They're funny losses on
every team. We just because the a SEC is down
and it is we we jump on him harder. But

(36:19):
at the same time, he beat Miami at Miami, who
just destroyed Texas A and m he did. I was
at the game. You were at the game. They were prepared,
They did everything they needed to do. They owned the
line of scrimmage. They beat Miami at my and I
want people to know it wasn't like a whole hum game.
Place was pack Scott. You know that tailgating everywhere. I

(36:40):
was so surprised to see how many people were at
the game, truly. So No, he's had big wins, he's
had big losses, but he has played in the championship
game of the ACC is first year in the league.
He's been in the top four or five is three years.
So I mean, Scott, come up anyway, I'm just watching Medcalf. Scott,

(37:01):
let me tell you what before Medcalf.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Here's the deal.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
I want to make this really simple for everyone. I
had somebody call me in and said, maybe the fan
called him a name. Okay, I got you in the
first time, and it won't be the last time. At
the ball game that he's been called a name. Is
it socially correct? No, it's not socially correct. But is

(37:31):
it gonna happen at a ballgame. Absolutely, And there's a difference.
I want people to understand. There are fans who pay
to come to the arena to yell for their team
both sides. You've seen fans get in into it with
each other, and then you have the professionals. Metcalf is

(37:57):
supposed to be the professional in the building. He's the
one making millions and it's gonna cost him millions. That's
why he's called a professional. Scott. We ask our police
officers when people call them names, to be professionals. At

(38:18):
forty thousand dollars a year, got me Scott, and we
expected and demanded, but we can't demand it of Metcalf.
They need to spend it with two games. I know
the league, every union tries to back its players. I
don't give a dame. There's no reason the professional went over.

(38:39):
I said the same thing. I love Lamar Jackson's for everybody.
You know that that's I'm a fan. When he pushed
the guy that hit one of his teammates, I said
he didn't need to be close to the stadium. In
the Bills game, the first game of the season, they
lose forty one, forty two, forty four something crazy right.
Scott said Lamar was the professional get away from the

(39:02):
stands b k Metcaln. That's just he's a mental midget.
The facts of the matter are we need to get
real counseling for our so called professionals because they're not ready.
That's all there is to it. So I hope it
can his pocketbook. He needs it to hit him in

(39:22):
the pocket. That's all he is, Scott. He is a
professional we asked of our police officers. Got me, Jerry's
I backed the blue scraw all that, and and I
back Black Lives Matters before Black Lives Matters. I told
you when it came out, Guys, I don't need Black
Lives Matters to tell me my life mattered. And I

(39:45):
told him that I didn't let my players kneel. I didn't,
but I told him in a newspaper the University of
Little Bit highcan Americans, and guys, I don't need anybody
to tell me about me, period. Got me. I know
when you to make a stand, where to make a stand,
and how to make a stand. That boy needs to
lose for the million dollars. He needs to learn. That's

(40:06):
all there is to it. He needs to have to
resign the contract, replay himself back in to position. He's
got the talent to do it. But he is the
professional in the room, Scott. That's all there is to it.
That's why they're called fans. And they pay to get in.
They pay for the TV subscriptions, they pay CBS, NBC
and all the Fox and all the channels. He is

(40:27):
to be in so we can watch, so he can
be paid all that money. And if they don't get it,
they need to go, Oh golly, David, I'm sorry brother,
How long I got guss God? David? Bring David on,
just so I can say Merry Christmas between David. Heybody,

(40:48):
say David, I love your brother. You know where to
find me. And you got next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
to call me to get your stuff in. You have
a merry Christmas, though, David.

Speaker 7 (40:57):
Okay, I got one thing for you. Listen to Adam
Scheffer on the esp and yesterday. It's costing this forty
five hundred and forty thousand dollars for two.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
Games exactly right. Two hundred, okay.

Speaker 7 (41:13):
Two or seventy thousand.

Speaker 1 (41:14):
The game that was really professional of him wasn't David
call me on Monday. Man, you have a great Christmas.
You're and your family, guys, everybody have a merry Christmas.
I love you. It's got great job, Gus, great job.
We'll talk to you, God willing on Monday. Bye bye
